A great 5 weeks
Love staying here. The place is dated but we had everything we needed. Lorie and Wayne welcomed us again this year. The employees and guests feel like family. We have truly enjoyed staying here. The beach is awesome. Will be returning February 2025.
Beautiful sunsets and sunrises
5 out of 5. Accommodations are simple but clean. The place reminded me of when I was in my early twenties. It still had that Mom and Pop establishment from those days. We really enjoyed the views from the beach. It was affordable. It makes a great quick getaway
Poor Customer Service
This place is very outdated but we stay here because it's on the beach and closer to our family who are locals. We always get a kitchenette whenever we stay anywhere and asked for one when we booked and paid our deposit TWO months ago. Today I called to verify check in time and our kitchenette and the man was highly rude he stated we would not have a kitchenette that all we get is a coffee pot and a mini fridge. 3 kids & that's what they expect us to deal with. So I called back to cancel and get our deposit back to book elsewhere. They informed me that they would not give it back that we had to pay for tonight's stay even though they failed to provide us with what we asked for upon booking and we didn't stay. They are crooks. Stay away!!
Nice older kitchenette style motel
For the rates, you can beat this little place, right on the beach. There are quite a few places to eat, drink and be merry within walking distance. This place is not fancy, but it is clean, and the staff is very nice! Parking is a little tight, but there is an over flow area as they own several properties right across the street. The property was going through a facelift so don't let the outside fool you... we were not disappointed in our room. The large deck offers up nice views of the sunsets. And has plenty of seating for guest's, you might want to bring your own chairs if you want to sit on the beach.
You have to stay here
Lori, Wayne, Charlotte, Debbie, and Mark are the best. They are the most friendly people we have met down here. They bent over backward to accommodate us and more than willing to please. We stayed in the 2 bedrooms on the beach. It is a little dated but had everything we needed. Location is everything to us. We are definitely coming back next year and have actually already booked. Thank you for giving us the best vacation.
Don't!
This is the worse place I have stayed in many years. The staff is friendly. The room is nasty. I cannot figure out how this ranks so well in reviews. It took me 30 minutes to figure out whether I was going to accept the room or not. I was by myself, so I figured I would accept the experience. I slept, the bathroom worked. That's about it. Floors were disgusting! Bugs! Find another place!
Great Stay!
From the outside this place isn't the prettiest to look at but inside our room we were amazed at how nice it was! Great walking distance to the beach and the staff were super friendly and accommodating.
Roomy, clean room for the money
I came for a month and got a 3 room - living, kit, and separate bedroom. I love it that it was all tile throughout. It makes me feel cleaner and safer. There are a lot of rooms in PCB that still have carpet and I feel that carpet is Yuk. Anyway, even tho our unit is across the street from beach, the street is Surf Drive - not at all busy. And most of their units are on the beachside, but I think most of them are smaller. Easy to cross street and you are on the beach. I also love an older motel like this where they don't have all the crazy fees. And I love that my car is in my sight all the time. I am always getting in my car for something and taking short trips to the store and the car is right in front of my window. If you stay in a big fancy hotel you have to walk down a long hall then wait for an elevator then walk across a huge hot parking lot to find your car or walk thru a creepy dark car garage, and try to remember where you parked. All that fuss is not for me. This is so much less stressful I love it! Also this area is great. We are within one block of a big surf shop (Moby Dick) and a couple of restaurants and bars, a mini golf, and a cart and scooter rental. We are close to the Walmart and Dollar Tree. Can't complain!!
Good Value on the Beach
We stayed at Lollye over the New Year holiday. This is a smaller property that has two buildings with two stories, and the buildings are perpendicular to the beach so that only the rooms on one end of the building directly overlook the beach. We arrived on the 30th, and they weren't very full, so they upgraded us to a room on the second floor at the end of the building overlooking the beach. We enjoyed being able to look out the window and watch the waves. Everyone who worked there was very friendly and recommended local places to eat when we wanted pizza. We liked the fact that the room had a kitchenette with a full size refrigerator. This was what sold the place for us because we need to cook some of our son's food even if we are going to a restaurant. The buildings are older, but they have renovated them nicely with fresh paint everywhere and nice decorations. The curtains on the windows are about an inch too small so that they don't completely cover the window, but that was not a big problem. The room was comfortable and had plenty of space. It feels like a home away from home. The downside is that, like at home, you have to take out your own trash, pick up your own towels, and take them to the office to exchange them for new ones each day. They don't do daily housekeeping. This does seem to defeat the purpose of staying in a motel, though. On a camping trip, I expect to take out my own trash, but part of what makes staying in a motel / hotel nice is that someone else does the cleaning for you. We enjoyed staying at Lollye very much. If the price is right, we will be back, but if they charge what other hotels on the beach charge, we will go somewhere with housekeeping.
Another Great Rally
This is my 3x time for the Lollye. Its the go to place for the Bikes Rallys. Close to it all without the noise and traffic from the main drag of Thomas. Great location, Cold AC, Hot Water. What more do ya need Hope to see you guys in Oct
Best place to stay!
We look forward to our visit in PC Beach; we always want to stay at Lollye On the Beach. Everyone is welcoming and so very friendly at this motel. It is not a condo, it is not that new, but clean and has the prettiest beach ever!
Amazing
The staff is awesome they just rock they took care of us on our anniversary and had an amazing time everything was clean and old building but kept up very well loved it hoping and praying that we get to go back

Peaceful
My sister and I along with my kids wanted to relax and see the beach. We wanted to have a peaceful get away. This was the place. It is like home away from home. It was perfect. It has flaws but it was very clean. Very quiet. People were super nice. It sits perfect on the beach. It will be our first choice from now on.
The best place to stay to feel at home right on the beach, at a great price!
Three parts make up this hotel / resort " complex. " No matter which one of the three accommodations you choose, Lollye at the Beach, The Condo, or Colonial Shores, you're just a few steps away from a long, wide and gorgeous white sand beach and the emerald waters of the Gulf. All three share amenities and so you can use the long deck that is directly on the beach and the pool, and all three are less than a one minute walk to the sand and water. This place is super easy for people with mobility issues! Lollye sits beach side, and the other two are just across the tiny street. We've stayed a Lollye On The Beach several times, and also at The Condo, which is just across the street (which has little to no traffic) and is situated next to the pool at Colonial Shores. Don't let 'across the street " make you think that it's a chore to get across to the sand from The Condo or Colonial Shores, or to the pool from Lollye! They're very close to one another. The Condo has an upstairs and a ground floor unit; Colonial Shores is one level, and Lollye is two levels with stairs and no elevator. The rooms are basic but clean and the service is friendly and helpful. This is an old-school, mom-and-pop type place. No high rise here! The hotel is truly like going to a home away from home if you're looking for someplace affordable right on the water, and it has a welcoming, laid-back atmosphere. Most of the rooms have a kitchen as well so you can save money over eating out, and mix your own cocktails to sip as you watch the sunset, and there are barbecue grills on the deck if you'd like to grill some hot dogs or your catch of the day. Some rooms have 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. Our rooms have always been clean, but there is no daily housekeeping. They'll wash your towels for you daily though. You just take them to the office. The beds aren't plush, but we're usually so worn out from sight-seeing, fishing, boating, shopping, and beach time that we collapse anyway and wake up ready to head out for another fantastic PCB day. The location is perfect. You can walk to restaurants, bars, and a liquor store, and there are all kinds of grocery stores, souvenir shops, Dollar General stores, and FUN things to do within a short walk or drive. PCB has tons to experiences, from Pier Park for shopping, movies, and dining out, to St. Andrews State Park (which is absolutely gorgeous and has waters that are as beautiful as the Caribbean), to the two piers in town and other smaller parks, to the marina where you can catch a boat to fish or buy fresh seafood to cook or eat some at a restaurant. From St. Andrews State Park you can rent a boat to take out fishing or to go over to Shell Island (an uninhabited island with calm waters and great shelling) There are putt-putt golf courses, real golf courses, amusement parks, a Ripley's Believe it or Not museum, a children's museum, and clubs for nightlife lovers. We highly recommend Shell Island and St. Andrews State Park as not-to-miss places to see for some natural beauty and fabulous beaches. The dolphins like to hang out at St. Andrews park near the fish cleaning station, and we've seen a live alligator there as well. There are signs to show where you can see the alligators. Of course you'll most likely also see dolphins swimming off shore along the Gulf. PCB offers so much for couples and for families, and although these rooms aren't " fancy " by any means, We recommend this place for a couples, friends, or for a family vacation. (We often meet family there, and we get separate rooms and gather together on the beach and on the deck.) It's also a beautiful place to get married on the beach, or for your honeymoon. We had our honeymoon there and watched beautiful weddings on our last two trips. We've sent one of our friends there for her honeymoon, and another is honeymooning there starting October 1. For a beautiful beach front location, super convenient, clean, and affordable accommodations, and the perfect site for watching the sunset, you can't beat Lollye at the Beach, Colonial Shores, or The Condo! We're going back in five days!!!
Stay AWAY and find somewhere else
We were on the road, headed to Natchez MS and were following the beach road for a while. It was a Saturday night and we looked on TripAdvisor to see what was available. Many local beach motels were REAL expensive, Lollye inn seemed reasonably priced and they had an available room with two double beds and upon arrival we found that's about all they had. My brother-in-law had eaten something that did not agree with him and the lady behind the counter basically told him to go piss off when he asked to look at the room. Rather than make a mess in their lobby, I stepped in and rescued the situation, but we found her response to be extremely rude. That was the beginning. Upon getting a room key, we discovered our room to be across the street and away from the beach, but by the pool. the parking lot (which I look at when riding motorcycles) was a loose pea gravel over loose sand, making navigation with 3 cruisers extremely hard to navigate. But we made it with help. We looked for an ice machine, but could find no ice bucket of any sort and wen asked about that, the response was: " Why do you need an ice bucket, we don't have an ice machine! You can get ice and the bar down the street " REALLY!!?!! A couple buck-fifty for a room; a crappy parking lot and not ice machine either?! HHMMM No need to put this place on our 'places to return to list' Find anywhere else.
Sweet little motel on the beach at the far south end of the strip
Great little 2-story beachfront motel. Kim and the staff were super friendly and efficient. Room (102) was very spacious, clean and appeared to have been recently renovated. The management said they've been re-doing the rooms one at a time. No musty smells whatsoever. Everything was freshly painted, nice new linens, spic and span, with a nice hutch for your clothes, BIG flat screen tv, excellent 2-door fridge, microwave and coffee pot. AC worked well and was wonderfully quiet, plus there was a nice ceiling fan too. Room had two double-size beds plus a futon and a table & 4 chairs. Bathroom was clean and in excellent shape. Best of all, it was QUIET, and that's hard to find during Thunder Beach! They have a nice area with lounge chairs and umbrellas overlooking the beach, and several barbecues for guests to use. All in all, a great experience. This was our second time at Lollye and we will definitely return. Great place!
Customer Service with a Smile
While on our way to Lollye, we received a call from management informing us that there was a plumbing problem with our room. They, however, informed us that we would have a choice of rooms to accommodate us. They allowed us to view our rooms before deciding and gave us two ocean front efficiency rooms. What a HUGE, pleasant surprise. We had a party of six consisting of three generations and every one of us loved our rooms!!! This is a " mom and pop " motel with excellent rates and friendly service. Clean rooms that featured kitchenettes, outdoor grills and deck seating, swimming pool, beach front views, ON THE BEACH HOTEL. Sleep was hard to come by the first night due to outside noise (spring breakers last night there) and a really noisy air conditioner (daughter said they had the same issue with a / c). We did not have daily maid service, but we never ask for that in any hotel. There is a linen exchange everyday. Parking is really, really tight, but not managements fault. A lot of their customers had no idea how to pull up to a curb and blocked parking lot. Again, the huge pluses here is the customer service and location of hotel!!!! Yes, we would most definitely stay here again if we return to PCB.
Condo
Stayed in first floor condo definitely not beachfront but it was a very short walk to the beach. Room wasn't anything special but nothing to complain about either. For the price it was great and the staff was very helpful as well! If your on a budget this is the place to be!
Great place to relax
I was looking for a place to stay in Panama City that I could feel safe being alone. I had no idea what to expect when I got there. I was by my self trying to get away from all the drama at work and I needed some me time. I was very pleased and happy when I got to my room. I felt at home and became relaxed very quick. All of the staff was very friendly and made my stay so wonderful. I will be back next summer and intend to make my stay longer. Thanks for making my stay so great. PS: I was the pocket book nut that bought around 8 of them in the office.
Great Place Out Of The Main Stream
Went down for the bike rally in Oct. Awesome place to stay. Right on the water, near everything PC has to offer. Had a great stay. I will deff stay here again!! Room was steps away from my bike!!. They provided grills, tables etc so that you can cook out if you wanted. FULL kitchen in my unit, air was cold. Place is nice and quiet and well lit. I had NO issues with any riff-raff and no one bothered any of my stuff
Home away from home
Upon arrival everything was very clean and from an OCD's view it made my stay much more relaxed. The staff was very polite, giving suggestions for local activities and attractions. If you're looking for a grand hotel to cater to you and clean daily you're not going to find that here. What you will find is great hospitality that makes you feel at home and left undisturbed. You do your own cleaning, taking out your own trash to the dumpster and exchanging dirty towels for clean. The air conditioning was great and the kitchenette was well stocked. The only bad experience was a bathroom doorknob that needed replaced and the door stuck. Also, the one bed needed replaced because every move it creaked and moaned loudly. So to solve this my friend and I had to share the other bed to get any sleep. The view was breathtaking, both in the room and just steps away. They had a well maintained outdoor pool across the road at Colonial Shores for use. For a mom and pop establishment you really couldn't ask for more. The parking was tight and quite a struggle at times. If you're looking for a home away from home that's clean, functional, and stress free this is the perfect getaway. It's within walking distance to several bars and a Mexican restaurant.
Great place
We stayed at Lollye for 3 nights and enjoyed it. It's not fancy but it's just steps to the beach, our room was very clean, having a kitchen was great and the beds were comfy. What's not to love? As mentioned in other reviews the parking is super tight but we walked everywhere so it wasn't a daily issue for us. I would stay again without hesitation.
Lollye Vacay- AWESOME
Well, what can I say? Our third great year at Lollye and we are already for. PCB 2018! We had a great vacation again this year in our beachfront room with a spectacular view of the gulf. Our room has recently been updated with new tile and curtains. Everything we needed was in Our room (except a blender that we purchased and left for next year), everything in the room worked great, and it was clean and cozy. We cooked everyday after stocking up on fresh seafood from Buddy Gandys seafood market (best inPCB). It was great seeing Lori, Karen, and all the friendly staff at Lollye, plus like every year we made new friends and have been keeping in touch. Thank you to the staff at Lollye for making our annual beach excursion a great one as always... See you next year. Michael & Mary Boyd.
Nice and clean
This is a great place to stay. We have been here 3 times and love it! The price is great, rooms are clean, and the staff is very friendly. UT reminds me so much of the place we stayed when I was younger. We will be coming back.
Second time around is even better
No frills, no overpriced luxuries, just a family style, mom & pop place to stay simply and inexpensively ON THE BEACH. Old school motel from the '50s, but clean, well appointed, with flat screen TV, cable, and good WIFI. Sit up in your bed and look at the waves while having your coffee in the end rooms. You are literally on the dune line just 75 yards from the water's edge. There are pool privileges across the street (but not in winter, non-heated) You may not have everything you want, but you will have everything you need. Great service from Lori. Only downside: if they are busy and all the parking spaces are taken, it can be difficult backing out of the parking area.
Getting far less than you paid for.
This property is old. It is on the beach. The access is via a wooden deck that leads to the sand. With that being said,.. When we first arrived at 8pm, the office was closed. (We did not notice that when we booked the hotel online) yes, the staff leaves at 4pm. We had to pay for this room in DECEMBER 2015. We stayed one of a two night stay. When we arrived, we approached one of those small " Mom and Pop " hotels. We had to locate the " security guard " to check in and pickup our keys. I am still thinking... maybe this will be okay at this point. Then, we attempted to park. The lot was full. We were told to park anywhere across the street as the own that too. We unloaded for our stay at the door to the room. Then, my partner went and parked the car. When I first saw the real key... not a typical thing anymore, I still was not thought " well maybe it will be okay for the night at least. Then we entered the room. 1. The first thing we notice is the front blind is broken. No curtains, no sheers, just a broken blind. When I looked around, I noticed all of the rooms offer this feature. Being as there was no staff, we went to a convenience store store and purchased black plastic bags to cover the windows. Yes, you could see into each room from at least one vantage point. The view was not pretty. It sort of had the feel of a two story trailer park. The area seemed a little " shady ". ie: in a we just witnessed a drug deal while we were in the pool sort of way. 2. The pool is located ACROSS THE STREET as their sister property? Yes. This causes for an over crowded pool in a tiny area that is not even slightly convenient to to our room. The room with the broken blinds... yes, this was my first night of vacation. 3. It has a " window unit " as it's a / c supply. It is LOUD! We are not talking your normal hotel / motel unit... we are talking $60. at Sears. 4. The " kitchen " was a scary little area that food should never touch! You wash what you use. Wonder if that last person was nasty and just rinsed it out? 5. NO shampoo. soap, coat hangers, hair dryers. They " have a theft problem and can no longer supply them ". 5. The maintenance man is methy. 6, The deck is scarier than the kitchen, it has people! Lots and lots of people. With " kiddy pools " and alcohol. An interesting mix to say the least. 7. This is the one positive note that I can possibly mention, We scurry past the regulars and make it to the beach! It is beautiful. I think... well maybe it won't be THAT bad... 8. Renting to " locals ", brings scum. It is just a fact. We are talking people in and out all hours of the night. 9. We finally go to bed. The bed. THAT bed! The one that cause us both to not sleep a wink after a VERY long drive. The way the springs screw into your sides. The way the ONE pillow allowed to each guest comforts ones head. The way that 40 years of HARD use can produce... this this was our " resting place " for the evening. A year of saving... and I am staying in trailer park HELL!?!? 10. We finally gave up sleeping early in the morning. We went the the front desk to checkout. The manager asked if everything way okay, in a very nervous tone. Keep in mind that I had not slept a wink after traveling all day, the day before. I looked like HELL! I told her of our experience with her property. I was very polite but also, to the point. She recomended that we booked their sister property next time, charged us another $18. and change for " taxes and fees " and we left.
Our favorite place
My family and I have been coming to Lollye for years now. We always love the atmosphere and the gracious people who run the place. Lori is super awesome and her crew go out of the way to make sure everything is just right for a relaxing stay. Always plenty of room on their beachfront, the pool area is clean and inviting and the rooms are always clean and comfortable. If you want breakfast in bed or valet services... this isnt the place for you, its as mom and pop as you can get and we wouldnt want it any other way.... cant wait til next year!!
Another GREAT Vacay at Lollye
We just returned from our second visit to Lollye on Beach. The first visit was great, but this one was even better with our beachfront view. (I miss it). Our room was overlooking the beach, clean, and fully furnished with everything we needed. Everything in the room was completely functional (AC, full sized fridge, microwave, stove, tv, etc) Again, like last year, the staff was very courteous and helpful with any and everything we needed. The beach view was spectacular from our room, and the pool was great when wanted a break from the sand. It was a great week of weather and the ocean was perfect. Like last year, we met some great people at Lollye and we had such fun hanging out with them during the day on the beach / pool and in the evening on the huge deck. We cooked most every night we were there (seafood mostly & grllled steaks) Lollye had ample grills for us to use and suited our needs perfectly. All this, and guess what? NO ELEVATORS to fight like in those high rises! Our plans for Summer of 2017.... Simple- Lollye. Thanks for a much needed vacay for our family! Michael, Mary Jane, and Phillip Boyd

We came here with our son and his girlfriend. We had a fantastic relaxing fun time! Lollye On the Beach is perfect! The staff are a delight! They really go the extra mile to make your stay great. Its an older establishment but very clean. We have been here before and will continue to come back. A great place to watch the fireworks! A special thanks to Lori, Karen, Roland, William, & Josh who met our every need & are always friendly. Thanks for always making our stay wonderful💜😎
Horrible
We came to the place but we did not stay. We lost our deposit, but we would rather have our sanity. Their was African Americans outside looking like they were gonna have a party and maybe be some bad things gonna be happening. They were outside cussing and saying nasty things and rubbed up on each other. Looked at two different room but didn't not me a two women and children ordeal! Was not impressed when we looked at the room. So however we didn't stay.
Perfect location and great price
We booked our stay at Lollye on the Beach for the first leg of a family trip to Florida. We have four kids, two of which are college age. It was going to be an expensive 10 day trip that included a week at Disney parks and Harry Potter world. We choose Panama City Beach because we used to live in Tallahassee and love the panhandle beaches. Lollye on the Beach offered an oceanfront room with two bedrooms and a sofa sleeper and full kitchen that was too good of a price to believe. Skeptical, I read reviews here that talked of their friendly staff and like-home feel. I also loved that it was an older-throwback Florida property rather than a big resort hotel. I'm a support the small business guy, and this was perfect. I called them to ask further about the room and beach, and they said it was 15 feet from their deck--SOLD. The room was nice-not fancy or real large, but this was truly oceanfront. The front bedroom and front room had windows right out to the deck with the beach right there. That rooms also extended in front of the second floor, so that there was not another hotel room directly above that bedroom, making it a very quiet room. Each room also had a ceiling fan, which was nice, and there were air conditioners in the front room and the back bedroom. My four kids doubled up just fine on the queen bed in the back bedroom and the sofa sleeper. We ate all of our meals in using the kitchen and the charcoal grill. We packed our food in to save money but also used a Dollar General that was 5 minutes away. This is not a luxury vacation rental, but it was very comfortable, very affordable, and the staff was great. They were very friendly and very accommodating. The maintenance attendant helped me inflate all 6 of our large inflatables with a compressor -saving me a lot of time. It's also a smaller place, so even though on the weekend they were full, there was plenty of space on the deck and on the beach. And the beach was the real star: lovely white powder sand, warm blue and green clear water. There was plenty of space to spread out and not be on top of others. My kids love to dig in the sand and build castles and tunnels. Plenty of space for that. Looking up the beach at the high rise hotels just up the way, those beach areas were overcrowded, and yet in front of Lollye there was lots of space. So, bottom line is that their location right on the beach can't be beat, especially for the price. Their rooms are comfortable, and the staff is great. A few things to know. The desk area closes at 7 pm, which I also think is great-the staff gets to go home to their own lives. There's an emergency number if there's a problem, and there wasn't any. It's a small and simple operation. Parking is a challenge when they're busy because of the very small lot. There is not daily housekeeping, but you can change out the towels and get soap or TP from the front desk. Where we were constantly coming and going from the room, we were glad not to have daily housekeeping. Also, there was free wi-fi, but in our room we could only get it well in one small area of the front room. But our room is the furthest from the office. We had such a great stay and had to drag ourselves away. For a family looking for a great value at a perfect location, this is the place, and we can't wait to come back.
Perfect for private on the beach
My Mother and I went for the weekend (April 15-17) recently and I really don't have that much to complain about. Now, we did go after spring break which was great. The grounds were very clean so were the rooms. This isn't that type of fancy upscale place, it's a very Mom and Pop style business with very friendly staff on the perfect spot on the beach. They have grills and outdoor seating for the guest. The rooms have a small kitchen with kitchen tools, pretty much everything is in the area of the hotel. Be sure to grab a map from the office if your didn't notice when you drove into the area. I will say that my bed was kinda soft, too soft, and I would get there before the office closes for the day. I would definitely book here again, neighborhood was pretty quiet for it to be a busy area.
Great little place!
We stayed in room 106 at Lollye's. For an older motel, it was VERY CLEAN! It has this very beachy, cottage like feel. Perfect for our anniversary. We didn't spend much time in the room, but it was extremely great! They provide you with everything you need, dishes, dish soap, cookware, towels, anything at all. The staff we're all very helpful and very nice. Even let us check in our room early. Tomorrow we have to leave, but we will be back! Don't pass this little place up. None of the rooms actually face the beach, but the beach was literally. 15 steps at most from our room. Great little place, on the quiet side of town. Thanks for everything!

Room was clean, quite and just perfect for our needs. They are on the quiet side of the beach this is the area you want to stay in for families. They had 24 hour security during spring break and was very concerned about no one disturbing my family " like partying spring breakers " overall great place to stay...
Old time - Good time!
Spent three days at Lollye on the Beach... old-time, beach mom & pop motel, but clean, had all the essential;s, and was literally yards from the beach. The off-season rate was very economical and we almost had the whole place to ourselves. Lori, the manager was very nice and helpful, as was William the serviceman. There are different floor plans for different rooms - several face the ocean. It has a large common deck with BBQ grills, chairs, umbrellas, and benches. There is a pool across the street but it is unheated in the winter. A great Cajun oyster bar with live entertainment was 300 yards walking distance. Great visit: simple, no frills, but clean and had all one needed.

We recently spent our second vacation at Lollye On the Beach. We were not disappointed. Last year I said that I thought we had found our new home on PCB. Now I am sure of it. Our room was great. The Wi-Fi worked perfectly and the staff couldn't be more friendly. And, with the television upgrade to flat screen, I really couldn't ask for more. We did not want to leave.... so I asked if our room was available for another night and was delighted to find out that it was. Even with the extra night.... we still didn't want to leave... but...... We will go back again as soon as we have the time. Thanks for a great week!

My compliments to Lori and ALL her staff at Lollye at the beach for great week +1 for us. Lori was very accomodating to us when I reserved the room and was very helpful when I was asking questions (since this was our first stay here). Check in was super smooth... The room was exactly what we expected based on pics on the website. This is not fancy place, but it was clean, bug free, and had everything we needed in the room. We were on the Lollye side for a week and we were having such a good time that we wanted to stay one more night. We talked to Lori and she got us room at Colonial shore for our extra night. The room at Colonial Shores was very nice and great location to the pool. All of the staff was very helpful.... we had to bug the Maintenance Man I think 3 times because we dropped the remote and de-programmed it. Whenever we asked for his assistance his response was always " sure... be right there, not a problem " they were great. The cleaning staff did a great job too.... rooms were just as clean and neat as a pin. Many of the guests were so nice too. We made friends with several of them. Throughout the week we would share our food that we cooked (BBQ, Seafood Boils, etc) and hang out down on the HUGE deck facing the ocean. Thank you for a great week! This was our first time at Lollye, and we will be back.
Wonderful Family Vacation!
My husband and I wanted to take the kids on a beach vacation, we typically go to St. Pete beach but our friends said we should try The Emerald Coast. Finding a family budget place to stay so last minute was difficult but my husband stumbled across this Gem! From the first phone call and conversation with the owner Lori the experience was great. She told us all about the property and was very clear this is a mom and pop establishment (which we prefer). The Lolley also includes the Colonial Shores which is literally across the street and where the pool is for all guests. And crossing the street is like crossing the driveway. The great thing is you can view your room before booking and what you see is what you get. These photos are true. We found our room to be clean and inviting. We were in room 213 in the same building as the office. The beach is right at the end of the deck! I included a photo of the view straight out my door. This is a super family friendly environment so expect noise and lots of kids! My 11 and 4yr old had so much fun playing on the beach and at the pool with all the kids. Lots of things with in walking distance. We had such a great time we extended our stay 2 nights to enjoy the Fourth! We met lots of nice families and will totally be coming back! Thank you for such a positive experience!

Our first time here and we will definitely be back!! We even tried to book the next weekend but they already had a full house. We met really great guests who were very welcoming and helpful who have been coming back to Lollye On The Beach for over 20 years!!! Home-Spun touches coupled with laid back yet professional customer service! What more could you ask for in a beach stay..? It's not " fancy " but it is very " homey " and we love that!! The quaint rooms include dishes, utensils and a few cooking pots / pans. Dish towels, broom, dustpan all the basics for setting up your vacation " mini-home " ! Plus they post pictures of the rooms themselves so it really offers you a true expectation! A rare and appreciated bonus in today's online world! It's nice to be comfortable and be able to relax when you rent a room. We now consider this our PCB " home " ! LOL My husband said he prefers staying at the Lollye over the Hilton!! They even have a list of " tried and true local recommendations " for activities and such that they have compiled by word-of-mouth recommendations of their guests! Priceless!! I wish I had knew they had the list before I researched on my own and booked a HORRIBLE fishing charter trip! More on that to come on a separate review. Bottom line - We love the Lollye and will back often as we can!

I've stayed at Lollye on the beach before and had excellent report and service from Lori and the staff. My last review for his place is titled " guest for a weekend, customer for a lifetime " Not to mention the excellent location and unbeatable rates that they always provide me with, the attention, customer service and overall welcome you get when you stay here is unparalleled. I stand by my first review still as " customer for a lifetime ".
Great ocean front rooms for great price!
This place is our family vacation spot every year. It's not the cleanest, but it's relaxing! You don't have to care so much about keeping the place super clean, you can just come relax & enjoy being at the beach! We always get the bottom rooms that face the ocean and the view is amazing! Not to mention when you walk out your door, it's the big deck that you can grill on & the steps off that lead right to the pretty white sand! Water is not far away at all! I love it because if you have small kids that need constant breaks & naps, the room is right there. So you still get to enjoy the beach even from inside! It's not super fancy at all. Rooms are old, and like I said not super clean but the people that work there are friendly & do what they can to make your stay there a good one. For the location the price is great! We look forward to going back every year!
Great place to stay
Lori, Tracy, Danny & William always make our stay a very enjoyable one. Love the location and the property. The one bedroom condo was clean, cool and comfortable. This makes for a very at home trip that always draws us back. Can't wait to go again!
Guest for a weekend, customer for a lifetime!
Columbus, Ga resident who has been frequenting Panama City for years for diving, vacations and weekend getaways. Was told about Lollye on the beach by a friend at Mrs. Newbies. Upon calling was given an excellent rate by Lori. I showed up late after close without reservation and the night manager Tracy was more than happy to come over (she was within walking distance, took her 30 seconds) so that I could check in. Very pleasing staff to speak with. By the end of the weekend I was exhausted after 7 dives in the gulf. Tracy was more than happy to allow me to check out late to allow me to rest and take a break, get all little beach time and shower. I've inquired with Lori who is one of the owners about their other properties as well and will be checking out each one with friends and family depending on the reason for my trip. Direct beach access that is not crowded at all. I was very pleased. Thank you, Lori and Tracy!

my husband and i were looking for a place to stay for a couple days, as we used to stay at the trade winds which is no longer there due to hugo the hurricane. we found lollye on the beach and they had a vacant room. the room was very clean and really nice. i am a sickler for clean beds and bathrooms, the side we stayed on was the colonialshores which is part of the lollye, they had been redone. the floors were really clean, new tile, kitchen was small but everything was new, the people were really friendly and very sweet. the price was wonderful, we paid 80.00 a night, and it was quite, so nice from the hustle and bustle of the strip. they had a pool and it was really clean. if your looking for a great place to stay thats reasonable for families and us older folks or a young couple looking for quite this is the place. also you can walk up the street and around the corner you will be on the strip. we will be going back to to lollye on the beach.
Great value, great location!
This is an older hotel, but still nice. Stove, microwave, and fridge were clean. Staff was helpful and pool was clean. Only two complaints, shower was extremely loud and window coverings did not block out light from outside. But being right on the beach was great!
Not worth it
The rooms were horrible. The rooms could use some major remodeling. The whole place is like living in a slum. Will not be staying here again. No room service and its just nasty. Looks like its lived in the 60's. No thanks. I will find another place to stay.
It was AWESOME
Me and family came the weekend after July 4 2014. Busy weekend but great hospitality. The staff and management were great. And more than accomidating. We will certianly return to Killer for sure on our next trip to Panama City

I've never been here before and I loved it. I will be going back. The staff us great I stayed in 116 right on the beach couldn't ask for nicer ppl. My family had a blast here. We meet a lot of great ppl. I didn't know what to think the first night but I loved it. If u want something that is clean but not expensive stay here.
We've found a new home
We had not been to Panama City Beach in about four years. We used to go there two or three times a year but could no longer find a place to stay that was reasonably priced and had the features that we wanted. Well, I think we've found that place. Yes, it is dated, but that's one of the things that we liked. It was clean and the Wi-Fi worked well in our room. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was great. The one biggest thing that I didn't care for was the parking. It's tough to get out once you're in the parking lot. I can live with that. It's close to restaurants and nightlife. We just got back home and are already planning another trip before the season ends.

I really enjoyed stay at Lollye on the beach. It was a very pleasant experience. Everyone was very nice and they made the trip extra special. The room are very cute, and comfortable. If there was possibly anything you need the ladies in the front are more than willing to help. I definitely will be going back.
The Best
If you want a place with good rates (right on the beach) then this is the place for you. It is very, very clean and is family owned with that personal, we care about you, touch that you won't find at the hotel / motel chains. Now that I have discovered this place, I have stayed there two years in a row and will be returning annually!
Bait and switch!
Room floor was dirty. Several loose tiles. No pots and pans to mention. No glasses. Kit cabinets smelled old and musty. back window no lock. Four plugs in the whole place. Circuit breaker kept knocking off. you can't run anything other than the fridge and air conditioning union. No curtains. TV was old 27 ". Bathroom walls looked as though they had been mopped. Had a black persons hair on the front of the BA door. A couple eye lashes all over the door and walls. The air conditioning was in the wall... poorly Installed. The BA floor looked like it hadn't been really cleaned for years. Mildew around the top of the shower. The shower grout had pink and brown slime built up in it. I poured bleach and water on it from a bottle and it came clean. BRIGHT light outside our window. It looked midday even at 11:00 p. m. walls were dirty with smudges. They fixed the light problem by thumb tacking a white sheet over the blinds. Furniture was filthy and old. I felt like they did the bait and switch with us.

If you are looking for economical, cleanliness, beach access, convenience, friendly service, and relaxation Lollye on the beach is the place to stay. We visited Lollye on the Beach 4th of July weekend, when I opened my hotel room door, I suprised at how clean the room was. Although is this an old motel it was well kept and it offers the most important amenities such as, beach access, friendly service, and cleanliness. They do not offer daily housekeeping, but for the price you cant beat it... Thanks, Katrine
Great Place
We stayed at 205 Colonial Shores which is part of Lollye on the Beach. Always a pleasure to stay there. Clean priced right, stayed 7 nights & already booked to stay in July!!! Lori took very good care of us.
Amazing place to stay
This place was great. We were beach front. We looked out our window and seen nothing sand and ocean it was beautiful. The office personnel was so nice and helpful. Will be returning here. Already planning our next trip.
Excellent value, hidden gem!
My family has been staying at Lollye for 10+ years, every year, multiple times per year, and we LOVE it. From when we I was single, to newlywed, and now with 2 kids, Lollye is our place. If you are looking for brand new and flawless where nobody knows your name, you can go pay 3 to 4 times the price somewhere else. If you're looking for clean friendly convenient value where Lori and the staff take care of any need, this is the place. Rooms are clean, neat, linens smell fresh, and in 10 years I've never seen the first bug. I've recommended Lollye to 4 or 5 friends in the past couple of years, and every single one says they'll never stay anywhere else. Lollye may not be for everyone (specifically the fru-fru crowd that expects brand new perfection), but if you want clean, safe, affordable family value, these guys won't let you down!
NEVER AGAIN
After experiencing Lollye, I will physically, mentally, and emotionally never be the same. It was terrifying in almost every way possible. Every time I walked into the room, I felt like I was going to contract e. coli. There were bugs all over the place and I'm pretty sure they hadn't washed the sheets in decades. The water was brown when I turned it on. It felt like I was on the set of a horror movie. I'M SERIOUS DON'T GO HERE IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON NOT DYING IN PCB

I took my grandson on this trip. Lollye On The Beach is not an expensive place, it is an older establishment. They also have a place acoss the street and that is where the pool is located. Our room was clean, no problem with the a / c--staff was wonderful. The parking is not the best, crowded when full. The patio has a great view of the beach, sunsets, they have tables, chairs and grills for your use. If you want a view of the ocean from your room, get them on the end both top and bottom. Washing is 1.50 oer load, the same for drying. l There is no maid service but you have the choice to ask for towels, trash bags etc. If you rented a condo you would not have maid service every day, so do not expect here. You can sweep your room as I did, no big deal. I will definitely go back there to vacation. It is at the quiet end of the beach but within walking distance for several places to eat and shop.
Great value, great location
My Family has been staying at Lollye for over 10 years. If you are looking for a value location on the beach with a pool that isn't nasty or a ripoff, Lollye is it. Sure, there are nicer places, and there are probably (maybe) a little cheaper places, but the nicer places are a lot more expensive, and the cheaper places are nowhere near as nice. Lollye has a private pool, is on the beach, rooms have kitchen / fridge / oven / microwave, and its located on Thomas Drive, which means less traffic to deal with. All in all a great value for those looking to save a few bucks.

Great little find in PCB, a small " Mom & Pop " right on the water. An older motel on the quiet end of the beach. Our room was clean, the motel staff was accommodating and we will be back. You do have to walk across the street to the pool, but other than that it great!

I will never return here! We had to wash our own bed sheets and we stayed for 9 days! $1.50 each load! It's over priced and FILTHY!!! Bugs everywhere and mildew! No house keeping available! This was our second year coming here and last year was fine. The room was decent and the pool was nice. Great beach access. Dramatic change over one year!

awesome place a tropical storm moved in so we ended up spending alot of time in and close to our room. its small but clean, comfortable, and with a small kitchen its makes vacating alittle more like a home. its an older place but has been recently remodeled with tile thoughout its easy to keep clean

I have stayed at several places where the service is not good, but here it was great, they are very friendly. Perfect place to take your family. We had our 18 month old and 6 year old and they had a blast. Had a room with full kitchen and two queen beds. They have grills out on the deck. We are already planning another trip.
We will be back
We will be returning. Vacation for my husband and me is a room to sleep, shower, store my belongings, coffee in the morning and occasionally eat a meal in the room and of course sunset at the beach. It provides all that plus a very friendly staff. I had the pleasure of meeting Lori who is the property manager and we also met maintenance and housekeeping who would actually talk to you and willing to provide customer service which seems to be rare these days.. The motel is old but it was clean. If you require pampering then most likely this is not your place. We were there the week before Memorial Day 2013 and found it to be the perfect place for us. I did not leave feeling like I had wasted my money as I have felt in some more expensive places,

I stayed at this hotel 20 years ago on my first vacation to PCB and loved it as a child. I returned and still loved it. Lori was very friendly and helping and the location was great. I will be returning with my daughter every year. The room was perfect and had no problems. Lollye On The Beach is a wonderful place for families that just want to enjoy the beach and have a quite relaxing vacation.

I stayed at Lollye on the Beach in April 2013 for a spring break vacation with 5 friends and myself. when we arrived and went to check in, we could tell by the looks of the motel that this was not a very clean place to stay. we booked a room that could sleep up to eight people so we had room for everyone to sleep comfortably. when we went into our room for the first time, we noticed that it was not the room that we had booked. The lady at the front desk failed to tell us that 8 guests arrived the day before we did, and their room wasn't available, so she put them in the room we were supposed to have. Knowing that this was HER mistake, she proceeded to tell us that we could get a second room if we paid $100 MORE dollars. The room we were given only had two full sized beds, so clearly all 6 people weren't going to be able to sleep in a bed. After getting over the fact that the front desk didn't find a problem with this, we noticed that our room was incredibly filthy. We all knew this wasn't going to be a fancy 5-star hotel, but it was just ridiculous how dirty it was. there was dust all over the bedrooms. there were dead bugs and MOLD in the air conditioner and ceiling above the shower, and the bathroom was just ridiculous. we politely asked the front desk to send the maid into our room because we believed our room hadn't been cleaned at all. The maid arrived in our room with a trash bag and a hand-held vacuum cleaner. The maid told us that this was the only vacuum the hotel had. Oh, and did I mention that there were 4 ARMED guards walking around the property every night because it was such a dangerous area? this is a terrible place to stay and I will NOT be returning here!!!

We went down on Labor Day weekend for a well needed Family Vacation. And we had the time of our lives. I know PCB has changed over the years with new big hotels. But The Gilliland's will be back. We had a 2 bedroom with a pull out couch. And Lori is so friendly, and wonderful. If you want to feel like you are welcome then the Lollye On The Beach is the place. It is a great place for family or I am thinking a weekend get away for the Hubby and me. We have stayed at other places but we came back to the Lollye for good service, friendly family and good prices. Just wish the parking was a little different. But that is all i would change. we love the Lollye I was pleased with my stay. And we will be back next year we plan to tay a week. Thanks Lori. LOLLYE ON THE BEACH ROCKS. IT WAS GREAT

Spent a week in Lollye on the beach. and we really enjoyed the stay. We were in a two bedroom gulf view apartment. As long as you realize that they do not have daily maid service you will enjoy your stay. The biggest issue that I noticed was a lack of parking.
great for families on budget
It was a two week stay right on the beach, that had we stayed at other places would not been able to afford. This is our second year of family vacation at Lollye. One of the greatest is that I dont feel as if I have to breath down the childrens neck making sure they are safe. The friends we have met are some of the greatest. Lollye is not for everyone, but for me I dont go to the beach to stay in a room anyway, all we need is a place to lay our heads & be able to fix a bit to eat. The rooms I have stayed in have been clean, yeah little outdated but clean and we managed to prepare the meals with what was there, sure didnt have all of home there, but you learn to adapt. During our stay, we saw the maintaneace guy several times a day each day and not once was he drunk or unfriendly. For the buck and the good friends this is the place.
The right people
We have stayed at Lollye a few times in the past few years, we never really had a bad exsperience. This past trip made all the difference. The past owners / managers were nothing compared to the present ones. They had exsplained that they had just taken over and we could tell a big diffference in the way the place looks. We have been coming to PCB since 1990 and have always stayed at LOLLYE (even before when it was the Bel-Air). We have always felt like it was our home away from home... true it is an older hotel but so what... its directly on the beach and its at the quieter end of town, and is family oriented. We are bringing our entire family with us this year and are counting down the days till we will be back. Other folks can say what they want to but not us we love it and would not stay anywhere else... we have stayed in the rooms upstairs and the rooms downstairs and probably have stayed in almost every room they offer, our favorite is the rooms on the bottom and on the end near the beach... yes they do share the pool with Colonial but everyone seems to leave out that same owner owns both hotels and the street people complains about is a one lane street about 20 feet wide and with hardly no traffic except the people staying there... I really think people should do more research before they book a room anywhere It makes me so upset that folks expect to stay at the beach for nothing and when they do find a cheaper hotel all they want to do is complain about it and the service it has..... THE LOLLYE is our favorite and YES WE WILL BE BACK... (for folks wanting to see more about the hotel go check it out on ORBIT or GOOGLE EARTH.) Once during one of our visits they were a lots of noise fro other visitors and we did complain about it and they took care it the problem immediately. The managers always are willing to work out any problems, once they are brought to their attention. I will be updating this commit again after this years vacation... Checked in and out in 5mins
After two airplanes and thousands of miles with my children I arrived to find--handy man drunk, he then called manager. Room without shower curtain. Last guests dinner was still drying to upper cabinets in kitchen. Door to room didn't lock properly. Drug deal done in parking lot while there in that measly 5mins. Drunken handy man and rude manager did promptly refund me my money after trying to give me another room across the street which was just as upsetting. Ohh, the manager did iniitally only refund me my money minus $30, when asked, she said it was a cancellation fee. She did however, promptly refund my $30, after some persuasion!! Last but not least, she did mention that the pool was closed till later in the following day due to " bunch of rocks in the pool ".. Stay away!!

Mom N Pop Motel with lots of character
I've been staying at Lollye several times a yr for the past 6 years and the thing that keeps me coming back mostly is the friendly atmosphere. Jeff and Lori are wonderful managers and very accomodating. My impression from some of the other reviews is people expect a high rise 5 star resort, which this certainly is not. Its just a small older motel, away from the hustle n bustle, but close enough to walk anywhere you'd want to go. I have never felt that the rooms were dirty, and I have stayed in several of them. The " across the street " people are talking about when referring to Colonial Shores, is practically a one-lane side street, it's not like you're having to cross Thomas Drive people. So anyway, if you don't mind a place that's pretty old but kept clean (btw the pool has always been sparkling clean, never seen it any other way!), and don't mind being treated like family by the managers.... give Lollye on the Beach a chance
Horrible
The only thing nice I have to say about this place is that the pool is nice... even if it isn't very clean. The carpet in our room is horrible. It's absolutely disgusting. You can walk around on it for five minutes and your feet will literally be sticky and black. The couch is stained and so is the recliner. The handle on the recliner is broken off and it doesn't recline. The handle on the dresser is hanging loosley down by one screw. The top of the entertainment center had a chunk of wood dug out of it. The refrigerator still had other peoples food in it when we got here and there is a sign on the refrigerator that says to wash the dishes before you leave but they give you no dish washing soap to do so? How were the dishes clean for us if the people before us had no soap either? The shower curtain has mold on it. Also, we specifically said when we booked the place that we wanted to be at Lollye on the Beach, so that we would be " on the beach " but when we called back later they had us booked in Colonial Shores which is their sister hotel and across the street, and they told us they could switch our rooms but that rooms at Lollye were " like standard hotel rooms " and that we wouldnt have a kitchen or a living room, so we had to stay at colonial shores which is across the street from the beach. Also, don't be fooled by their online website. I don't know where that picture came from of that hotel room but it is most definitely not from here. Also, It doesn't tell you this online but there is no pool at Lollye on the Beach. The pool is across the street at Colonial Shores and has to be shared by both hotels. Overall, they really shouldn't charge more than about 30 dollars a night for this place.
Find Somewhere Else!
We stayed here because it was a last minute trip for Spring Break 2009. The internet site seemed like it had great rooms. First our room wasn't even on the beach like described, it was across the road! The Rooms were filthy, stains on the sheets and towels. The location wasn't horrible but could of been better, little off the beaten path... but still walkable to anywhere you wanted to go. The employees were not very friendly at all. They made up pay for towels that were " dirty ". They towels were used like any towel would be used and were not dirty. Since we paid for the towels we asked if we could keep them and he would not let us, so obviously he is going to just wash them and let someone else use them.. and prob make them pay for them as well. Our door (s) didn't even lock to our place! The pool was extremely gross, never saw one person in it. I talked to other people around the area and there seems to be a lot better deals out there, so shop around!
Great place for a quick, inexpensive beach weekend!
I've been staying at Lollye since Spring Break 2007. I've gone with large groups of friends, with my family, and with just my husband and another couple. We've always enjoyed our time spent here. I love Lollye's location! You walk out of your room and the beach is right there. (Even if you are staying at the sister hotel across the street.. you are only a few feet away.. it is a side street that does not have heavy traffic). Colonial Shores and Lollye share a pool that has always been clean over the past 5 years I've gone. Jeff and Lori are wonderful managers. They have always treated us like family and know us by name when we call to reserve a room. They left for a short time and have since returned.. which makes us happy. The place is older but the rooms and linens are always clean. If you are looking for a 5 star high rise with a mint on the pillow this is not the place but if you are looking for an inexpensive place where you feel like family and the beach is steps away.. Lollye on the Beach is your place. I'm already looking forward to my next trip here.
Dirty hotel and no cooperation from manager
I had to clean the entire room myself before I could stay there; manager did give me a vacuum so i could do this myself and lots of rags for cleaning! amazing. Rude rude man. Told me when checking in " our goal is kindness and cleanliness " - not true!
Quaint
It was a quaint little room. We shared a 2 bedroom 1 bathroom with my sister-in-law and her boyfriend. It was a beach front room, which didn't make that much of a difference. We would probably stay there again because I like mom and pop type motels, but it may not be a style that everyone enjoys. It seems a little grungy in the kitchen and bathroom, but it's probably because it's old. One disappointment was that our room didn't have a bathtub, only a shower. The way the A / C was set up was weird, too. But it was overall a nice place to have pizza and crash after my husband's cousin's wedding.
good for a cheap, quick trip
We decided to do a quick trip (Fri and Sat) night while our kids were out of town. The rooms are dated and not the cleanest. But for a quick down and dirty trip to the beach were you aren't spending much time in your room it was great. Full fridge, microwave, coffe pot, and small stove was great. We only used the fridge and coffee pot but it was good. We were late checking in and they were very helpful and nice with accommodating us. You can't beat the location at the price. I would stay here again. The unit we had only had 1 queen size bed and faced the pool, the light came in really bad in the morning is my biggest complaint. Shower was kind of small
