A very average experience
Mark the owner is doing a lot of hours trying to keep this corner bar going with regular bingo and quiz competitions etc but I don't see it tbh. It's totally lack-lustre and lacks atmosphere, the beer is cheap though.
Good Pub Diner experience
Recommend this little gem of a place, very suited to British Clients and the food was of a high quality for a decent price. Its a bit out of the way but worth hunting out. We ate here several times including an excellent Sunday lunch and were very happy with every meal. Barman a bit dry but friendly we can only highly recommend his bar.
Excellent food & friendly atmosphere
Well run pub / restaurant' good atmosphere with mix ex pats' Maltese & tourists' I recommend' regards' clive
Fab breakfast
What's not to like all cooked fresh 2bacon 2 eggs 2 bangers chopped Toms baked beans 2 toast and drink €4.50 absolute bargain little tip although the bangers are good pay the extra 65c and have Cumberland sausages they are good.
Best Breakfast on Malta
The best breakfast on Malta. Two of eggs, bacon, sausage, toast and beans and tomatoes all freshly cooked followed by tea or coffee. This certainly sets you up for the day all for the price of 4.50euros.
Traditional Pub exceptional Value
Cheap prices - best value Breakfast €4.50 & can be Vegan - great atmosphere too- recommenced will be back for another Breakfast soon 👍
Excellent Sunday Lunch
Always try to call in to The Bell when passing. Sunday lunch is one of the best in the area and prices are very competitive. Booking isn't necessary, but, I often call ahead to book.
Excellent
First visit today. Had the Belly Buster Breakfast. Excellent, I managed it the wife bailed out. Great to see the local Covid regulations being applied. Definitely visiting again and recommending to friends.
Great pub
Lovely hosts and great value food and drink, visited most days during our stay. Definitely a hit with the little one, best sausage buns EVER!!!
Regular holiday stop off
We've used the pub for a few years on our annual holiday. In spite of the lockdown made it this year as well, think the island locked down a fortnight after our return. I like the breakfast, good value and prompt, friendly service. Hope we get back there next year!!
EXCELLENT BREAKFAST
As usual in these virus times the Bell still serves an excellent breakfast - proper back bacon + 2 eggs, beans, toms, small sausages, toast + inc a drink at a very reasonable price. This place has been going for a few years now & all the locals know it - good service with Mark & Alison running it - also their Sunday lunches. You just can't beat it - it was recommended to us when we 1st came here in 2006 and has maintained the good value & service over the years, not many places can say that.
Excellent breakie
Called here enjoyed the breakfast only 3, 50 e Inc toast and tea or coffee you can't go wrong very good service from Mark the owner who will make you feel welcome so if u fancy a good breakfast call here drink prices are some of the cheapest on the island
Find me its worth the short walk honest
Food service company and price superb thanks Mark and his wife breakfast at 3.50 with a brew really nice and very big
A good local pub
I always go there for breakfast and good mug of tea and they do a great Sunday roast which is always beat to order has you get a choice of meat. At the moment there is a lot of building work going on in the area but it didnt have much impact on the pub, customers tend to be Brits and Maltese. I have always found the staff to be helpful and welcoming but i suppose like all of us we have off days. One think I have forgotten to add the drinks are cheaper than most other places. Its worth a visit.
Not great
What can I say. After someone saying it's a great little pub run by an Englishman we all called in for a drink. 4 of us. I have never felt so unwelcome ever in my life and even on saying goodbye he just glared at us. Live and learn and for our week here we used the w2 pub down the road instead
Good food cheap drink
In amongst all the building work going on, the bell is still there serving up good food at a very reasonable price and drinks at a great price. The staff are friendly and this is your place if you want good grub served without all the fuss ans can watch the sports without paying the earth for it.
Great value
We visited the bell a couple of times for breakfast, full English with a mug of tea or coffee plus X2 slice of toast for only 3 Euro you can't complain about that. Good food and great value, would definitely recommend
Best pub in the Area
The drink and food place are superb you will struggle to make the food cheaper if self catering. Super friendly staff bingo twice a week.
The three lads from Derby
The food at our hotel bugibba hotel was awful so when told steven at the owls nest which is the beat EFL surports bar in bugibba about the The Bell we had to go and visit it for our breakfast and i can tell that the breakfast at The Bell are amazing we went every morring for our breakfat
Traditional Pub exceptional Value
Cheap prices - best value Breakfast €3 & can be Vegan - great atmosphere too- recommenced will be back for another Breakfast soon 👍
Food Beer & Sun
Arrived on a Friday night nipped in for drinks. Saturday great breakfast for 3 Euros and lovely Sunday lunch. Want to say a special thank you to the lady and her daughter from The Bell that saw us waiting outside for our taxi that was late to take us back to the airport, they spoke to the taxi company and sorted everything out and recognised us from going in..... going that little bit extra will make us remember to call in again when we return... THANK YOU!!
Great breakfast
For the price you can't fall off, we have been in twice now for breakfast 3 euro including a drink. Service is efficient and food is tasty.
Lovely food
We have been coming to this pub for about 3 years now. The breakfast is really nice and very reasonablely priced. The other meals are nice too pies, fish and chips etc. We really like the combo which is about 12e and you get wedges, chicken wings and a load of other stuff perfect for sharing. The staff are nice as well. Sunday dinners are lovely and I think they are about 6.50e but sometimes it gets really busy and it's better booking in advance. They also do quizzes and bingo a few times a week.
Sunday Lunch
Best Sunday Lunch around, good meat, fresh vegetables and good roast potatoes. The small dinner is only 4.50 euro and ample for me. Really enjoyed it yesterday and would recommend it to anyone, busy too, no wonder and breakfasts good value for money too. Everyone helpful there and not worth me putting the oven on now on a Sunday!!!
Really good wholesome food
If you crave some really good wholesome home cooked food, this the place to visit. You will not be disappointed, liver and onions, corned beef pie and more all served with fresh veg and mashed potato. Heaven.
Excellent Sunday Lunch
Excellent sunday lunch and very reasonable prices, make this pub stand out in the area. Booking for Sunday lunch is advised.
great pub
went in here after someone recommended it to us quality draught drinks very good prices seen the food coming out so ordered some ourselves and it was lovely would definitely go in again next time in malta
Netter Barkeeper
Super netter Barkeeper. Leckeres Bier, was will man mehr. Drei Möglichkeiten zu sitzen. (Draußen oder in einem Zwischenraum oder direkt an der Bar.)
Good breakfast
Really cheap, decent breakfast. Really nice girl works there serving. Evening meal not as good as breakfast
Basic, Great Value Breakfast
If you are looking for a cheap an cheerful basic value breakfast this is the place to go 3 euros 5 stars based on the cost / value but it is basic English breakfast which did the job.
School dinners
Sorry but having read the reviews and our taxi driver praising the food, we thought we would try it. I gave 2 stars for friendly staff but I couldn't give anything for the food. Expectations vary for most people but this is far below what some people consider 5 stars. I now have to reconsider how I review other places in Malta. Really dislike giving poor reviews. Sorry it was terrible.
Even better than before
After a 4 year absence we were back in Malta and staying round the corner from the Bell. From the first day we were able to refresh our memories of our previous visits and sample the excellent food and drinks on offer. As well as being the best bar on the Island it must also be the cheapest. There was a good mix of locals and tourists like us and we were soon made to feel like a regular. There were also quizzes and bingo (with winnings up to 190 Euros) which sadly we did not win as well as screens showing football rugby and other sports. So if you are staying at the Soreda or just in the area it would be a shame to miss out on the Bell experience. I'm glad we didn't.
Great Pub, Great Food, Very Welcoming
Have visited this place a few time during our family holiday. Went here on a recommendation and I'm so glad we did! The roast dinner was one of the best I've ever had, the breakfast was definitely the best I've ever had and 100% is the best in Malta, try it and you will see!! We played bingo here Sunday and are going back Tuesday as it was a great crack and even though we was the only ones there with young kids we was made to feel welcome! Roast dinner 6.50 bargain! Breakfast from 3 euro yes 3 euro (the one pictured is the belly buster 6 euro) beers are from 1.20 a pint!! Pink gin and tonic 2.70 it's a very reasonable price! Keep up the good work guys! Don't walk past go inside and absorb the atmosphere!
A BIT ROUGH
Called in for a drink while on holiday its a small dated bar with local ex pats but the drinks were cheap.
BELLY BUSTER, MALTA
If you are in the Qawra you must go to the BELL PUB. as you can see by other reviews this I a popular place. You get great food, great staff, and great customers If you like a good breakfast try the BELL BUSTER.
best pub in qawra
my husband and i were in qawra from 3rd november to 10th november. we found the bell pub and what a find. bingo is three times a week plus other games, e. g. quiz, play your cards right and lucky 13. pints of carling and other beers are only 2 euros, a lot of ex pats seem to frequent it and they are all very friendly and everyone talks to you. the staff are great and the food fantastic and very cheap, very very good breakfast. we won 2 sunday lunches and a breakfast. on our last day our friend came with us and won 200 euros on the bingo. bingo usually starts at 8.30 sunday and tuesday and 3pm friday but get there early to get a seat. give it a try, you wont be disappointed
Sunday Roast
Nothing like a Sunday Roast at The Bell. The food is good, the price is even better. Nice atmosphere, and swift service. Would recommend also their breakfast. Not to be missed.
Cannot be faulted
What can I say that others haven't, it's fantastic, fabulous food, warm and welcoming staff we love it and wouldn't go anywhere else for breakfast when in Malta. Thank you Alison and the rest of the crew everything you do is appreciated.
top breakfast
called here about 6 times breakies are excellent valve staff work hard even had some evening meals around the 6\7 euro mark very nice tasting if you want good valve call here the area looks a bit run down but dont let this put you off sun quiz is a good laugh this pub is mainly full of expats
Social visit
Been going to Malta for year's and never frequented this pub, glad we did. Went to visit friends and ended up having a great visit. Bar prices must be one of the best in Malta, food was of good quality at a good price. Staff and customers very friendly making for a great atmosphere. Been missing out for year's, looking forward to our next visit
Urgkkk
I'd read the reviews before we visited so thought this could be ok what a mistake, probably the worst Sunday dinner I've ever eaten in my life. Sunday roast.... chicken full of skin and fat, one yes one roast potato, to be fair French beans were nice, Yorkshire pudding fair. Service crap..... u wait at bar but u have to make a line and queue 😂😂😂 Bit like weatherspoons on a sat morning at 9am (and I like weatherspoons in the evenings) Toilets...... bit like visiting the toilets in a caravan. Would never go there ever again.
Breakfast
Delicious, traditional English breakfast, big portions, low prices, and the most important thing-lovely staff.
food visit
friendly pub, cheap food and drink prices, home made food, on back street several meals had, sky sports and games nights
Great value
Always use here for breakfast full English with tea / coffee and toast €3 freshly cooked and tasty. Great for evening food good wholesome food for reasonabl price nice atmosphere in the bar area and they show all the sports on tv
i am a fan of the bell - good pub good food good drinks
each contributor can only offer their experiences and opinion of the establishments they visit - my wife and i go to this pub fairly regularly about once or twice and month and we have not once been disappointed - the breakfast is well known to be excellent value and the other items on the menu are very reasonably priced and the drinks here are also reasonably priced - we will be back for sure -
Breakfast
Called into The Bell for breakfast on a recent visit to Qawra. The breakfast was of good quality was served piping hot, two sausage, two bacon, two eggs, two toast, beans tomatoes and a mug of tea for €3. Excellent value for money.
Great pub!
Myself and my two nephews had breakfast at The Bell nearly every morning, as always it was great value for money. It serves the best pint of Cisk on the island thanks to Mark and the fact he cleans all pipes etc every week. Bingo and quiz nights are great fun and all the bar staff are lovely people. George, Mark, Nigel we will miss you all and look forward to returning to share a pint with you guys again. Thanks for making us feel welcome. John and family.
Sad decline
This place used to be a local institution but has undergone a sad decline. Asking what the breakfast consisted of, I was greeted with a couple of tuts and grunts which continued throughout the ordering. When the breakfast arrived it was barely edible. The bacon was barely recognisable and each rasher of fat fit comfortably on my fork. The beans were anemic and in a sauce which seemed to be nine parts water. The sausages were overcooked and I suspect warmed-up from the previous day. Bread was presented in a plastic basket, the inside was covered in grease, dirt and crumbs and I would guess that it hadn't been washed in at least a week. If they need to increase the prices to use better quality food then so be it. They could also invest some money in cleaning the place - especially the bread baskets. If you pulled into a bad transport cafe in England, this is what you would get, I don't understand all the recent praise and suspect it is based on the price rather than the food. €3 for breakfast.
Excellent Quality and Prices
The Bell provides typical British pub food, ranging from breakfasts, pies, fish'n'chips, and traditional roast Sunday lunch. The prices are excellent, with the breakfast with tea / coffee and toast for €3 (€3.50 after 12). Highly recommended.

Excellent
The food is excellent and cheap prices! For a full breakfast only €3! The staff are really friendly too I highly recommend it here
. friendly and welcoming... :)
We have been regulars here for 2 years, and even though we have moved to Mellieha, we still drive the 15 mins down to enjoy the great welcome, friendly local atmosphere and great Bombardier Bitter, which for sure, is the best pint in Malta. Sport on the TV, and the owner and staff are great rugby fans. The walls and ceiling are covered in rugby league shirts, with many autographed. If you want a warm welcome from the local regulars and great value grub and drinks, the Bell is for you. A fantastic English Breakfast for only 2.50 euro, including tea or coffee, and the BOMBA Bitter is only 2.20 a pint...... happy days.... Plenty of chairs outside to catch the sunshine and top up that tan and supping your ale at the same time. :) Big thanks to owners Mark and Alison, Bar Manager Graham, smiley Diane, and cooks Careen in the evenings and Kath for daytime.
