Greatest guide ever
From the first minute we meet Niall We realized we made the right choice! He helped us chose the perfect itinerary Not only the places but Also the time to visit to Avoid the crowds and maximize our day. He went out of his way to make sure that we have the most memorable time which we did! We traveled all over the world with many different guides and tour companies and I must say that he is on the top of our list and we highly recommend him to any one that is planning a trip to Kyoto and we also highly recommend our route which included " the romantic train and boat ride "
Unbelievable Kyoto Experience - Must Do!!!!!
Put simply, Niall is not just an incredible tour guide but a fantastic guy to spend a night in Kyoto with! Prior to our family arriving in Japan, his communication, flexibility, organisation and effort that went into planning the perfect night was amazing. On the actual night, we immediately found him to be incredibly knowledgable and passionate about Kyoto and it's unique culture, and just all around great company. Highlights were his restaurant recommendations, walking tour, amazing teahouse experience with our Maiko and some karaoke afterwards!!!! I cannot recommend Niall and this tour enough, we have already passed on his details to other, and will definitely be re-booking when we return to Japan. Definitely a highlight of our trip - you will not be disappointed!
Real VIP experience
Niall was a great host from the minute we called him, he was very flexible with our itinerary, in minutes he arranged everything, he is awesome! During our tour we felt it was like walking with an old friend, he was the perfect guide for us. Now, talking about the experience it was definitely VIP, we went to a tea house and met with a Maiko soon to become a Geisha and the tea house owner, we actually hanged out with him and Niall knowing more about Kyoto. Everyone was very kind and friendly, we had a great time! Thanks Niall!!
Perfect Day in Kyoto!
We had an awesome exclusive tour with Kyoto Fun and Niall that really exceeded our expectations. The best kind of tour, is one that doesn't feel like a tour at all, but rather like your exploring a city with a fun, knowledgable new friend! Niall was really cool and easy going right from the start and really helped us make the most of our day. We packed in a market trip, lunch, a little shopping, a temple tour, strolls around Gion and stopped at several shrines. We had great luck seeing a couple Geishas, took the subway and learned a ton from Niall about the history of Kyoto. Aside from being a huge history buff, he has been living in the city for about 8 years so he knows his way around like a local and speaks excellent Japanese! It's really the full package, also because his tour " style " is really go with the flow. It was nice that we were not on this rigid sightseeing plan or time schedule, and even though we had pre established a route, Niall was really flexible and adapted to our pace as a group. This was not a typical touristy tour and felt much more authentic. We went to this great little mom & pop soba shop for lunch that was fabulously delicious! Niall knows how to go off the beaten path if that is what you are looking for. We would definitely recommend Kyoto Fun and will surely be back to Kyoto to learn more about this enchanting city! Excellent Guide!
My family wanted a tour guide our first day in Kyoto to help kick off our stay. Niall turned out to be an excellent choice! He and I communicated a few times prior to our arrival. He was very interested to understand what we were looking to do with our day and made all the arrangements prior to our arrival. Our kids are 10 and 8, Niall did a wonderful job educating them on some of the language, customs and interesting facts along the way. GREAT DAY!!!
Wonderful and personalised walking tour through Kyoto!
The Tour: We started at our hotel where we had a quick chat about the plan for the day. We decided to go head first for one of the highlights of Kyoto, Kinkakuji, the Golden Temple. Niall chatted a little about the history of every sight we visited and gave us some really interesting facts a travel book probably won't include. From there we walked around to the garden in behind the temple and got a few pics along the way. We also paid a visit to the tea house where we chatted a little about the culture of tea ceremony. From there we went to the Hirano Shrine stopping for a hot drink along the way at a Hawaiian cafe. We got some great pics under the cherry blossoms here. We then walked to the Kitano Tenmangu shrine and geisha quarters " Kamishichiken ". Then we had lunch at an Italian restaurant and another taxi ride and we were at Murin-An gardens. From there we took another cab to the city centre. You got fortunes from the Nishiki Tenmangu Shrine and we explored a little bit of the market and the shops on the main avenue (Shijo Street). Niall was a great tour guide and showed us the best places in Kyoto from shops to shrines and gardens. It was a fun and interesting day for my family together with Niall!
