Fake burrito
Do us all a favor and take the " carnitas " burrito off the menu! It ain't one. Took a long time to get my order of a burrito, onion rings, and a tea when there were no customers in the place. Took one bite of the burrito and spit out a big chunk of port fat!! Hard to eat this thing cause the tortilla was as thin as newspaper so I just opened it up and saw five red kidney beans, four blobs of pork fat, three strings of old lettuce, (taco-----lettuce yes. Burrito======lettuce NO). Next was 95% of the filling. Old clumpy rice! No thanks. Next stop for me will be Silentro (next to the old Mario's) for a REAL burrito! The best thing about your John Hay branch is the ice tea and the comfort room although the ice tea is way over priced, it is good and you get to keep the little jar in came in. I ordered onion rings cause the fries there are horrible. The onion rings were about as bad and tasteless. No more for me boys and girls unless I need to pee and have a iced tea!!!!
Too Good for a Quick Bite
Went to their branch in Camp John Hay before heading to Manila. They have ample parking space outside. Food is served hot. I ordered the Starving Sailor and I was mind-blown by the different flavors once I digged in. The beef itself is tasty enough to stand alone. Overall it's a balance between being salty and spicy. 1 sandwich is enough to keep you full for the next 4 hours of driving. The burgers here are good as well! Their juicy beef patty is next to none.
How Big a Burger Isn't Necessarily a Good Burger
How messy and big a burger is, doesn't make it a better burger. I've tried Army Navy twice on Session road. In both instances it didn't even scratch my burger itch. If you're going on a burger binge, make Army Navy your last stop.
Great food, friendly waiter
This review is for the Session Road branch: The store has a limited space that tables were arranged at beside the escalator going to the Pergola Mall, and people going to the mall pass by your table all the time. The cashier was perfunctory in taking my orders. She seemed unhappy to be in the job. Thankfully the young waiter was warm and friendly and polite, yay! Food was perfect! They prepped my burrito carnitas perfectly moist, the fries and onion rings were newly fried. My nephew was happy with his bully boy burger, and my cousin too with her carbonara and Starving sailor. If you're not sure where to eat and you're in this area, go here, nothing beats the fast food here lol!
Nothing special
Food was average at best, burgers had to much fillers, burritos were not even close to a real burrito.. would not go to again...
Short walk at Camp John Hay and a quick lunch at Army Navy
No difference at all :) Tasty food still! It's just it's in Camp John Hay.. but I do think that it would be nicer if they provide sofa's (for warmth since it's mostly cold in Baguio) and just take into consideration to match the sofa's with their resto motif.
Like Any Other Army Navy
Gave it a 4 because I'm not a BIG fan of army navy burgers but I like their other stuff. Crew was efficient and forthcoming. The store was well maintained. It's like any other Army Navy branch.
Delicious!
It is located at Camp John Hay. Worth the money but no service water you have to buy everything. It is clean and its American restaurant but its like a filipino serving too small.
Family Weekend at Camp John Hay
Army Navy is known for their burgers and burritos and they live it up to their name. Still a must at Camp John Hay :-)
Good
A typical Army Navy place, staff is friendly and helpful. The food was always fresh and delicious. One of my favourite fastfood places
Good food, but restaurant is untidy
Upside 1. Dishes are tasty 2. Menu has a wide selection 3. Indoor and outdoor dining available 4. A lot of other restaurants next to it 5. A lot of specialty shops nearby (Nail salon, Rox, etc.) 6. Location is easy to find Downside 1. Staff seem to be slow in cleaning up / tidying up the tables 2. The floor is a mess 3. One of the toilets didn't work (at peak season!) ; it also was not clean. 4. Orders take long to be delivered 5. Some of off-duty staff are boisterous (they were eating in a table in the outdoor area). They were still in uniform & had tubs of food in a tupperware. Not mindful that their noise was annoying other customers 6. People would use tables / hang out in the outdoor area even when they are not ordering from the restaurant. Which of course, makes seating for paying customers very limited 7. When we went (Jan 1-4, 2016), it was peak season so PARKING is a hassle. I recommend taking the taxi to go to this place. Lots of taxis anyway, if you need a lift going back to your home / hotel
They have no clue about mexican food
I ordered pork soft tacos and they were super greasy no cilantro nor adobo. The nachos were ok, but it was such a small portion.
Best Burrito!!!!!!
Although the location is not in Camp John Hay where i ate in the place but their branch in SM. I did take a look and choose some of their menu and I ordered their Buritto which has 4 flavours and i choose pork and I did like it. Pricey though....
Mucho Gusto
Army Navy is a franchise of restaurants focused on famous Mexican foods such as taco, quesadilla and burrito. However, it also offers a variety of other dishes such as many kinds of Philippine breakfast and American favorites. There are three Army Navy restaurants in Baguio (SM, Session Road, Camp John Hay), the best one being in Camp John Hay. SM and Session Road are crowded areas in Baguio so if you're looking to eat out away from the bustle and hustle of the city, go to Camp John Hay. There are so many trees around the area plus fresh air. You can certainly eat with much gusto. I have tried several foods from this restaurant and I loved every single one of them. If only the price had been a little bit cheaper, then the complete experience would have been absolutely perfect!
disappointing
We ordered a double burger and I swear the two quarter-pound " beef " patties were not beef! It was like chewing cardboard mixed with ground mushroom. Every bite had inedible chunks to be spewed on napkins. Couldnt even finish a fourth of the burger. What a waste. I asked to add bacon with it but that was a mistake. The strips were like smoked leather strings. It was a disgusting, unappetizing meal. Same was true with the steak burrito, lots of uneatable " meat " parts. Nachos were ok. Cheese quesadillas weren't bad. Salsa was fresh. But the more pricey foods we ordered were gross.
Veggie Buritto, Cheese Quesadilla, fresh chips & moi bueno salsa
ask for more beans less rice on the veggie burrito. staff so friendly and help full sit outside and enjoy the fresh air
Tacos, burritos, a great place to eat
I have not tried the burgers here, but the tacos and burritos are excellent. This is as close to Mexican food as I have found in the Philippines (I am from Texas and Southern New Mexico). The tortillas taste like they should. The green chile sauce adds a little spice.. and did i mention the Queso? (cheese dip) Get some chips and queso.. I miss it already. (Ive been to this chain in BGC, MOA, Clark and now Baguio)..
Food was good, food service terrible
The food was actually better tasting than other Army Navy. The problem was with the delivery, took almost 30 minutes to get our food. I asked the waitress what is taking so long and she stated their policy was that to go orders had priority over eat in orders. Which explained why half our meal came, then had to wait for another 15 minutes for the rest of the order to arrive, since a few take out orders came in, very strange and ineffective policy.
Burritos! Tacos! Quesadillas! and amazing burger!
The only place where I truly enjoy burritos in Baguio and also the home of the best iced tea I've ever tasted in a restaurant. They also boast a variety of mexican-inspired food such as quesadillas and tacos. Their menu also has this monstrosity called the " Bully boy " which is basically a 3-patty burger which doesn't just look good but taste good also. One down side of their menu is that it isn't very much child friendly. Most of their menu are spiced to the point that you'll be sweating around while eating them, and yeah even despite the cool weather of Baguio, you'll still be sweating especially when you drizzle their sauces while eating. Service is good, staffs are kind enough to take requests for us and the ambiance is quite good too. Definitely one of the many places to eat at in Baguio and thankfully they have 3 branches around Baguio which are located along session road (Puso ng Baguio building), Technohub in Camp john hay, and in SM. So don't miss the opportunity to eat here when you visit Baguio.
Bad experience starting from ordering
I patiently waiting for my turn. A customer (Korean) was still in the order taking window and yet the cashier is taking my order already. I find it discourteous to the other customer. I was kinda in a hurry, I ordered cheese quesadilla to go and prepared and exact amount. I gave it to the cashier. She did not even looked at me. I asked her if my number will be called or they will just serve it. She said " upo ka na lang (just take your seat) ". I waited for 20 mins for a quesadilla. I will never come back here. Poor service.
Enjoyed the food!
well, if you really are hungry and wants to have a good fill, then you should have that Bully Boy! i thought i was tough enough to finish that burger, but i failed... good food, good ambiance, nice plates!
Great promise NO delivery
After a few bad experiences at this outlet I wrote to the head office. They handled the issue with me very well. I went back. The problem is at the store level, they don't get it when a customer complains. No changes in process, quality or timing have been made. So, you get the wrong order, after waiting 25 minutes.
Taco mix or original
Decided to try out Army Navy since it had burrito and crunchy taco, my husband and brother who is visiting Baguio for the very first time had veggie burrito. Taco was not the greatest, the groundbeef tasted like burned, old oil and the imported taco seasoning mix. The veggie burrito tasted good said my husband. French fries were good, crunchy and fried the way I like it. I'de like to go back and give it another go but no taco for me...
Once in a while treat with a peaceful ambience
I spend dinner on this cozy place ones in a while as a way to relax myself from the new career life i have chosen a few months back. Fortunately my office is located on the building next to Army Navy on this part of John Hay. Food is awesome, place is clean and not over crowded.. all in all it is a nice place for those who likes to relax while enjoying their meal... try their Burritos, its worth it.
I want real fries
Had lunch here with my wife before heading back to Manila. Overall the food was good. Tried the burger and fried chicken, yummy. What was sad was the fries, they call them the freedom fries. Don't let the pictures fool you their fries are of small serving and what's worse they're as malnourished as the Pik-Nik shoestring potatoes. Overall their price is ok. But I hope they serve better fries someday.
A Western Taste
The Army Navy at Camp John Hay! We tried the place and ordered burritos.. Served with sour cream and salsa. Their Libertea taste like brewed lipton tea with lemon in it and it's sweet, might be wrong, but taste like it. Ambiance is alright as it is located inside CJH, near Le Monet hotel. Overall, you may want to try this place if you want to try something different from the usual Asian food we enjoy everyday.
Tasty
Ordered some lunch from here and it was pretty good. The food is American style sandwiches, burgers, fries, burritos, etc. and if that's what you're after you probably won't be disappointed. I had the Starving Sailor sandwich which is lots of steak with lots of carmelised onions. It tasted good but was very messy.
