Nice Roadhouse
In town for hockey tournament and stopped in late for dinner. We were greeted by the host and quickly seated. Our server Mitch was great and on point. We had steak bites, sirloin, shrimp, green beans and mashed potatoes. Very good for chain restaurant.
Best night out for Our Family!
Last night we went to the Downingtown location for my granddaughter's 8 th Birthday. The food was excellent and we had Jake as our server, this young man is a top notch server best service best attitude and made our night a fun festive experience for my family! Thank you Jake! You truly are an asset to TexasroadHouse!
Big girl date
Our server was a young man named Alex. I was there with my oldest granddaughter (6 yrs old), for a big girl date. First time she was ever there. Alex was attentive and so helpful. Made our " big girl " date memorable. Even kids meal menu was interactive for us. Food was good and hot. My granddaughter LOVED your biscuits. She ate 3. Thank you
Underwhelming first time
Went here bc we received a gift card. Never been before. I'm under whelmed. 2 salads, fried onion and smothered chicken all delivered simultaneously. I guess the " chef " got bored midway through shredding cheese for our chicken as the bowl contained the remaining solid chunk of cheese. The taste of everything was okkkayyyy. Final statement: Of you're going to a steak chain choose Outback.
Hearty steaks
Texas Roadhouse was recommended as the best of the chain steakhouses by a butcher who knows his meats. Went there for the first time and had an 8-oz filet mignon. It was good, but not as good as the Omaha Steaks filets I used to get. Service was slow, so the fact that the filet was just slightly warm might be attributed to that. Veterans get a 20% discount on Thursdays, so that compensated somewhat.
yuck
Severely overcooked ribs and overcooked steak ruined a night out. Baked potato was also very overcooked.
Not the best steaks for being a steak house
My ribeye came out as if it was boiled hardly had any grill sear on it. Very disappointing for being a steak house that doesn't know how to cook a steak. I would skip this place until they get a cook that knows how to cook
Very rude
My son and I called to check on details for a large party (10) for father's day. In the middle of checking on details, the hung up on us twice. Not going to a place that can't handle phone inquires. This was the Downingtown location. Longhorn was much better.
Great Texas Roadhouse
Today on 5 / 30 / 21 my mother and I dined at this Texas Roadhouse. Welcomed by the hostess and brought to our booth. Our server Aubree was great. We first ordered drinks my mother had a beer and I had a glass of wine and we had the cactus blossom which was crispy and delicious along with the perfect zesty sauce. Then we ordered our entrees, my mother had the 1 / 2 rack of their legendary ribs, a house salad & loaded baked potato. I had the country fried sirloin, casear salad & loaded sweet potato. Sadly I encountered a few mishaps with my order my salad was overdressed and my country fried sirloin was not temperature hot, was given the wrong loaded potato and gravy on the side. The problem was fully 100% rectified by the managers Kristen & Logan who got me taken care of. I commend their prompt and professionalism in taking care of this matter. I Highly Recommend this Texas Roadhouse. Thank You!
Not that great
The last 2-3 times we ordered (1 dine in and 2 take out) the food was just ok. Not sure what happened there but last time thecsteak was a little tough and fatty and the sides were not impressive. Think we will take a break for a while.
Follow the rules
Food was fine and our waiter, Alex was very good, followed all social distancing requirements. However not all staff was correctly wearing masks. Staff brought food to our table with only mouth covered and one female delivering food covered only her chin. If you want us to return please enforce the requirements.
Not the best this time
I've always had great food and service and I ordered once for pickup during Covid. The 2nd time was not great. Online ordering did not work. Two of us had medallions, they were chewy and fatty. The mashed potatoes were flavorless. I hope this visit was an exception.
What happened
We ate there with a party of eight on Saturday. The side portions were smaller and couple of us had ribs and they seemed undercooked. Very tough and not the usual fall off the bone. Plus kinda of warm and not hot.
holiday dinner
Had the boneless sirloin, very very good cooked just right. Family met for our holiday dinner we all had good meals, except my brother. He ordered the porter house the large one, he tried eating it but it was so tough he could not cut it. He called it to the waitress attention. The manager came over she offered him another meal which he declined. It was late and we were all finished, she offered to cook him another complete steak dinner to go, he accepted and took it home. the manager took the price of the meal off his check. he said the meal was very good the next day. I thank the manager for her hospitality she was great. I always liked the rode house my 2 grand daughters worked for the one in concordville. GOOD COMPANY
Ribs, ribs, ribs.
Fall off the bone ribs. you can count on the fact that every time you go to Texas Roadhouse the ribs will be perfect. not dry rubbed. Juicy, and the same every visit. Busy place, Wait list seating Early dinning special $9.99
Food was good but the server was missing in action most of our meal!
The food was good and dinner started off good. We arrived just after 4 PM on a weekday and there we 10 patrons in the entire restaurant. Our server took our order and dissapeared for most of our meal. Soda refills were like non existant and forget getting another beer. It does not matter if they were doing some team building, training, or she was smoking outback..... same result is very poor service. No thanks Texas Roadhouse
Steak so good the earth moved!
Worth the trip! Tender, meaty filet mignon, perfectly cooked, outstanding quality. Moist and buttery sweet potato, fresh baked yeast rolls served with maple butter. Attentive service, reasonable prices. Very loud and busy restaurant with rustic decor and family friendly dining. Dirty floors and bathroom.
Excellence All Around
We had a party of five and were seated where we requested by a gracious hostess who did not persist in trying to find out what steak we wanted as we entered the restaurant. Our waitress was professional and kind. The food was delicious and came in a timely manner. We were celebrating a birthday and the wait staff sang with gusto and humor making it a pleasant experience. The bill was close to $70, not including the tip and it was well worth it!
Good Food and Value
My wife and I had dinner with another couple. We were all set to order the 6 ounce sirloin when our waitress mentioned that we could get the 8 ounce meal special for less money. What a sweetheart, and someone obviously who places her customers first. Steak was good, ditto the sweet potato, but salad mediocre. All-in-all a nice meal at a fair price with excellent service.
Very good takeout with pretty good value
We often order takeout from Texas Roadhouse in Downingtown when it is peak time and long lines to be seated. Overall good value for takeout with good food.
Good Eats!
Went to TR with a friend to grab a bite. We were seated quickly and our server, Christen, came and had out order. I had the Road Kill with a salad and baked potato. Everything was prepared well and tasted good as well. My friend had a sirloin with a baked potato and a salad. He also said it was well prepared and tasted good. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone.
There are no redeeming qualities.
Just got home from a 3pm lunch / dinner on Father's Day and yes we had a reservation for 7. So where were we seated? Not in the restaurant but in the waiting area where customers would usually wait for their table. That's right. They took out the benches and put 3 tables of 8 in this tiny little waiting area with a kids claw game in there no less. The waiter didn't have enough room to bring the food on the tray as he was wedged in by a wall and the end of the tables. It was a joke. He had to leave our food right by the front door and bring us two plates at a time while our food sat out there with people coming and going right past the big tray. And then the real fun started. That restautant is filthy. The utensils had dried food on them, the iced tea glass had sticky stuff all over it, the bathroom floor was disgusting and my appetizer plate had a greasy fingerprint on it. The food, oh the food. My granddaughters Mac & Cheese had macaroni 's floating in colored water. I had to drain it. It was Kraft Mac & Cheese for goodness sake. You couldn't even drain the water and make that the right way? Her French fries were soggy and cold. I had grilled shrimp over rice. The shrimp were far from " grilled " (soft & mushy) and the rice was a " blob " with enough salt in there to raise my blood pressure for the next week. I didn't eat it. My daughter-in-law had canned corn as a side dish along with some sort of canned green bean swimming in a yellow colored liquid. My husband's steak was dry as could be and his baked potato was plain so you could see what it looked like. Old / overcooked. As much as I try and like this place I can't. It's always bad. Who made the decision to cram 3 tables of 8 in the " waiting area? " Really. Poor management is the culprit here. And unless they get someone in there to properly manage both the front of the house and the back of the house it will continue to be the train wreck that it is. Because they are in a small town they are under the misconception that they have a " captive audience. " They have no regard for the food they put out or for their customer. Shame on them. On a good note, our server Will was excellent despite what he had to go through to get food to our table.
Right in line with Texas Roadhouse chain
Pretty much status quo with the chain and what you would expect. I was impressed that we walked in at 5:15 on a Saturday night and got seated immediately.
Experience Texas in Downingtown
First time here in February 2019. I bee-lined to the bar and was greeted before even sat on a stool. Great, attentive service. Delicious barbecue chicken. Plus, the sides are done up a little differently. For example, the green beans had some kind of sauce on them that was out of this world good. The manager even dropped by to see if there was anything I needed. I loved the food and attention.
The need to add options or make changes
Seriously no balsamic salad dressing. Not many restaurants are like this and offer oil and balsamic vinegar. Generally no normal options. They also only had A1 steak sauce.
Eh
My family use to like coming here. The food hasn't become that good and the service is beyond slow. Don't recommend if you're looking for a quick bite to eat.
Very good food and Awesome service
We didn't need to wait to be seated. Gina, our server, was awesome. She was prompt in asking for drinks, bringing them, etc. She asked several times if everything was ok or we needed anything. The manager came by twice. Everyone, including the staff that brought our food, was very friendly. Even had someone that saw we had empty plates stop and pick them up. The salad, bread, steak, and baked potato were all very good and done exactly as asked.
Annoying wait for pick up, food was good
Ordered a very simple dish and arrived when they said it would be ready. There were about 10 people in the entire restaurant and I waited 15 minutes to pick up the order. They should review how they deal with staging pick up orders.
Well DONE!!
Time for you guys to think about upgrading your steaks. We have been there several times and the food quality has declined especially last 6 months. I know y'all are busy but Friday's was busy too and they went out fast. I'll pay more for an upgraded grass fed steak that has some flavor. Also when a steak is not cooked to order it don't help when the manager or cook comes out and gives you attitude about how it was ordered. Cooked medium well doesn't come out with blood and on top of the steak.
It's ok
I like Texas Roadhouse. The food isn't too bad. I like the salads and my daughter likes the chicken fingers. The service to get food is so slow. We have stopped going there as much because of how slow they are.
Just average
First time there we liked it. The food was good, service great, atmosphere pleasant. The next time we went, it was a little different. The service was good but the food seemed a little off. Not quite the same. More average than anything else. I may go again but not in a hurry...
Waited for a long time for very little..
The host tried to seat us in a section with 2 different parties with loud screaming kids when the restaurant was 1 / 3 full. We asked to be seated somewhere quiet. Waited 45 minutes for our order and nibbled on peanuts and bread and iced tea. Were told our food was coming right out. After 15 more minutes, we asked the waiter to check on it. The salmon, beans and potato were expensive for such small servings, the caesar salad was really small. Microwaved potatoes were weird textures. Yuck, yuck, yuck
I left Longhorn to come to Texas roadhouse for dinner
I am glad I left Longhorn Steakhouse to come to Texas Roadhouse for dinner. Sweet potato and steak was yummy and beers were priced better. Best advantage was I was waited on and ordered food!
Real Texas chili
I love their Texas chili it is the only place in the Northeast that has anything resembling Texas chili. This is a family restaurant that only serves dinner on the weekdays both lunch and dinner on Saturday and Sunday. I've been fortunate enough to eat at some of the best steak restaurants in the country so I'm not gonna tell you that this is on par with Del Friscos or Peter Lugers, but I will tell you they put out a good tasting steak and cook it very accurately to your request. Bars a lot of fun waitresses are friendly and it's a great place to take your family.
Food okay but iPhone was stolen from out table
It snowed last Friday night December 15th when went to this Texas Roadhouse, and it was very slow because of the weather. The food was okay, typical chain quality, edible but average. There were almost no customers left in the restaurant when we checked out, shortly after leaving we realized we left out phone back at the restaurant sitting on the table. We immediately called, within 5 minutes, and were told there was no phone left behind. When checking with the phone carrier, the last signal they received was from the Texas Roadhouse after we left, and it appeared someone turned the phone off. Since there were literally only a couple of patrons left, the phone had to be taken by either a server or busboy. Either way I consider it stolen, and not misplaced. I am 100% sure we left it behind, and it was sitting on the table we ate at. Beware of the help if you decide to eat here, I'm sure they have many good employees, but they have at least one thief working for them. It turned out to be a very expensive dinner, I'd go elsewhere.
Texas Roadhouse is a steak place like the outback
A steak house, I thing it's a little better than the outback. They have pretty good steaks. Bake potatoes fixed the way you like it. Beer if you like it or other beverages as well.
great steak!
I am in love with the steak of this restaurant. The food is really good and the bread!. I also tried the chicken, and its good. I order twice shrimps: the first one super spicy to me, and for the second one the prepared for me the shrimps with my specifications!!! I love it!
Great Steak Dinner at a fair price
We had a great dinner served by Jorey who saw to our needs without being intrusive. The cost was fair and the we were served in a timely manner. Parking was adequate.
Best Filet Mignon ever!!
My husband & I visited this Texas Roadhouse last Sunday around 4:00. We both ordered filets--mine was cooked exactly as I wanted as was my husbands. The loaded baked potato was sooo good as was my salad. We normally go to the Texas Roadhouse in Wyomissing because its closer to home but there is always some issue or the other at that location. Our waitress was also very nice.
Needs improvement
Ok, so we recently went to a Texas Roadhouse and we're eagerly wanting to find another. Well luckily we found one just down the street from us. We arrived early since we are early eaters. There was plenty of parking. We walked it and instantly I thought how different it was compared to our first experience. The girls at the hostess desk said hello but it was lackluster. No one showed us the steaks in the case, we were just seated. The server came over and although she was " nice " there was a robotic insincere vibe from her. She basically didn't seem happy. All the food was good and consistent. We were very happy with our meal. We enjoyed the line dancing even though 50% of the employees doing it looked like they wanted to crawl into a hole and die. Our son got a kick out of the dancing and the music. We will def be back again. Hopefully we will catch people in a more cheerful mood. I know everyone has their day. I added another star because the food was so good. I didn't want to give an average rating. It's still better than outback
Server pretty much ignored is while she talked to friends or family at the table next to us
Went at 5.45 PM on a monday. Server pretty much ignored is while she talked to friends or family at the table next to us. Food was good.
Dinner with the grandkids
Definitely a great family place to go. The staff is outstanding as well as their dancing. The kids go through the bread, if they could that's all they would eat. Food is well prepared and plenty of it. Let yourself go and have a fun time.
Decent chain restaurant in Downingtown
Nothing bad or special here. This is an outpost of the Texas Roadhouse chain service quasi Southern / Texas style food. Had the Chicken Fried Chicken steak which was massive and decent enough with a slightly sweet sauce on it. Best option here are the massive drinks.
Yep... Last Visit Here!
In my last posting I States that this place was slipping and this visit confirmed that thought and will be my last trip here. Once again my friend ordered a beer with his meal and once again he had to ask a second time for the beer. My order came without my fries which arrived five minutes later. I also requested a refill of my soda about halfway through my meal and it came after I was finished. The server kinda giggled and said it slipped her mind. Well that is just bad service all the way around. Period! Stay clear of this place unless you like poor service. It is a shame that the service stinks because the food is really good!
Great Experience
Had lunch here mothers day, made arrangements via their call ahead method about noon time for a 1 o'clock table, arrived promptly at noon and was seated within 3 minutes, place was packed, as not only was it mothers' day but graduation for a number of colleges in the area. The service was excellent we couldnt have asked for or gotten better service even from the most posh facility and the food was fantastic, my oldest daughter suggested we have a dallas fillet, and to be honest the steak was one of the best i have eaten in years, and cooked to perfecttion. The salad was cold and crisp, and the baked potato absolutely enormous, and cooked perfectly. We wanted for nothing as the staff was present throughout the meal, and immediately responded to all wants and desires.
Family restaurant
We have been coming here for years but this is the first time I have actually sat down and reviewed the place. The menu is diverse enough that there should be something for everyone on there. We like the rib as an appetizer, however our son, who is into " clean " eating likes the salads and vegetables. He usually gets a steak and chicken combo requesting no barbecue sauce to keep with his diet. I usually get the prime rib. My wife is partial to the dinner salads. The service is efficient but not over the top. Parking is ample. They do get pretty busy on weekends. Although they do not take reservations, you can call ahead and have you name added to the waiting list.
Noisy, and watch out for peanuts. Good steak
This chain is good choice if you don't mind a noisy crowd and peanut shells everywhere. The steaks are good and so are the drinks. One of my daughter's and granddaughter's favorite spots for dinner.
8 Awesome Friends and Terrific Food
We went to Texas Roadhouse in Downingtown PA for a church group dining event! Arrived around 5:00 PM, everyone there by 5:30! JOHN was our waiter and took excellent care of us. He remembered what everyone had for drinks, and made sure we never went dry! Eight people with each having a different steak, Ribs, Chicken and assorted veggies, baked potatoes (w / wo toppings) ! John kept it all straight! 2 1 / 2 hours, great conversations, great service, great food! Will definitely be back again and again!
EXCELLENT
Monday night birthday dinner - We had the fastest, most efficient service without being rushed! We had The ribs, caesar salad, house salad, steak kabobs, chili, loaded tater skins, pulled pork, and filet - all was done to our liking, hot and served together. Never been disappointed with the food or service here.
This Place Is Slipping!
We came by to have a nice steak on a Friday only to find that things have slipped a bit since our last visit. My baked potato came to the table barley warm enough to mealt the cheeze and my friend order a beer on tap to be served with his meal and it arrived only after he had asked two people about it. Not the knd of service to get people to return.
Delicious Food Served Quickly
I visited this location with a friend for an early dinner. We were seated quickly and our waitress was friendly. The food was delicious and served quickly. The only issue we had with our server was that she disappeared for long periods of time. While they were busy, we saw other servers far more often than her. Other than that, the meal was delicious and worth the visit.
Buen concepto y buena botana
Un buen lugar para beber una cerveza y disfrutar de una rica botana, tien una buena variedad de cervezas regionales.
Great Every Time
Have been to this Texas Roadhouse at least a half dozen times. Food and service are always excellent. Place is managed very well. If it is a good meal that you are after you will not be disappointed. The atmosphere is not great, but the dining experience makes up for it.
Carnaca!
Una buena variedad de carnes con diferentes tamaños. La carta amplia Los platos son enormes, van acompañados de maíz, patatas... de lo que tú prefieras Muy buen ambiente en el restaurante
Love the pulled pork but afraid to order it again to many bones! Check out the photo
Love the pulled pork but afraid to order it again to many bones! Check out the photo. Holy cow talk about dangerous.
Good Change Of Pace To Dine Here!
We like to come to the Texas Roadhouse for a change of pace compared to our normal dining routine. This particular location is easy to get to but exiting is sometimes tricky as you have to deal with traffic coming from Cracker Barrel, a car dealership and a bank but the traffic moves quickly. My wife enjoys the steaks and I enjoy the BBQ Ribs. The atmosphere is fun and lively with TV's tuned in to sports and the crew is always either singing birthday songs or doing a line dance in the middle of the restaurant. Free entertainment... can't beat that deal. Our server, Mitch, made sure we were taken care of and stopped by to check on us several times even though he was very busy. The on duty manager also checked on us. I like that type of service. So if you are in Downingtown area and would like a great teak and ribs stop by the Texas Roadhouse and enjoy the experience.
Assult on the senses!
To be honest we didn't even eat here. Upon entering it felt like we were in a Texas cattle chute rather than a roadhouse. It was so bright and so loud and so crowded that we couldn't even hear what the hostess was saying. We ultimately turned around and walked out. This place is not for me. For a night out, I much prefer to go someplace where we can at least have a conversation.
Better than expected !
With it being a chain, I had low expectations on getting a good piece of steak. I was nicely surprised, salads were served nice and cold, my sirloin was cooked perfectly, service was good considering how busy they were, and drinks were refilled quickly. I would go back. Thank you!
Poor dining experience
My order of ribs came out and were dry as sand. There was no moisture in them at all. They were replaced by the manager after the rest of my family were almost finished eating. Also upon ordering I was asked by our waiter if I wanted my potato " loaded " so I said ok. When the bill came I saw that I was charged an additional $.99 for the " load ". Upon questioning my waiter about it he said that it is listed on the menu and that the staff is told not to mention it. Very deceptive. These are the little things that are annoying and make you not want to return.
Texas Chili
I used to live in Texas and I love real Texas chili. This is the best you will find outside of Texas.
Best steak for the price
Very good food. Granted it is a chain so it is predictable. But the price is right. The beer is cold. The atmosphere is fun, particularly if you like Country Music. Can be crowded so call ahead. They do not accept reservations.
Good Fare
We ate here on a Tuesday night with friends. The restaurant, fairly new, enjoyed a nice number of diners even on this off-night. The atmosphere was friendly and casual with the barrels of peanuts to nibble on! Our ribs and steaks were good. There was, however, some confusion as to how the sides were cooked. I had specifically asked about the green beans - was told they were plain steamed (just what I wanted.) Unfortunately they were loaded with garlic and looked boiled or canned. We changed for a salad. The salad was not described on the menu and came with eggs which our friend could not eat. Our waitress changed this right away to one without the eggs. The restaurant offered a very nice chardonnay which we enjoyed. The atmosphere was pleasant but the music was quite loud interfering with conversation. We did ask to have it turned down a little. All in all we had a nice casual dinner with our friend, and will retune another time..
Good Food, Reasonable Prices & Fun Family Place
On a recent trip to PA to visit our family, we went to the Texas Roadhouse and had a great meal with our family. Looking forward to having one near us in Florida.
I can't believe this is a chain restaurant
I find that almost all other chain steak houses rush their ribs to the point of making them dry. Texas Roadhouse's ribs are excellent! The Rib & Ribeye combo with a baked potato and salad is my favorite meal there. I have also had the prime rib, and it's also extremely tasty. Since they've opened I think my wife and I have gone there at least once a month. I highly recommend it! Use the Call ahead seating.
Poor Food, Poor Service & Loud
My wife and I chose your restaurant for our 22nd anniversary dinner. After years of going to Outback Steakhouse for a steak dinner we thought we had finally found a better alternative. Instead it was one of the worst meals I have ever had, worse than even a cheap diner. It wasn't simply that my steak was not cooked even close to how I ordered it, but that is a good place to start. My Ribeye was supposed to be cooked medium, but what I received was a thin, overcooked piece of meat not worthy of a restaurant that calls itself a steakhouse. I showed the waitress and she said she would get me another one and added, " I don't cook them, I just serve them ". I guess she was worried about the effect this might have on her tip. My wife's steak was supposed to be medium but was under-cooked and wanted to tell the waitress but after seeing how she reacted to taking my steak back she became nervous and didn't say anything and just ate the under-cooked steak. I waited and waited for my replacement steak and so for our anniversary dinner my wife ate alone while I was waiting for my steak to be replaced. My wife had no choice but to eat her meal while I was waiting for my steak to be replaced and by the time the waitress arrived with the new steak my wife was finished eating. When my new steak finally arrived and I cut it open it was more overcooked than the first one! My wife had already eaten and I was very hungry so told the waitress I give up trying to get a steak cooked medium, I will just eat what I can of this one. It was not a quality steak. The baked potato was cold and the small bowl of corn that should have been yellow kernels were mysteriously yellow, black and brown. Needless to say I did not even try the corn. So for our anniversary dinner my wife ate alone while I was waiting for my steak to be replaced and then my wife sat there and watched me eating alone. Picking at what was edible. The idea was to have dinner together, instead we had to take turns! It ruined our special occasion. The finishing touch of our terrible experience was trying to fight our way through the small entrance where the heard of people waiting for their tables are packed so tight you literally have to push and shove your way out because there is no room to move. Saying excuse me doesn't work because the music is so loud that the person you are looking in the face cannot hear you. The inadequate waiting area is a nightmare for the people leaving and a potential danger in an emergency. Just part of the Texas Roadhouse of Downingtown experience! My wife and I thought we had found a good new restaurant that we could visit frequently, but after such an unpleasant experience as this I do not feel we could take another chance at being so disappointed again.
