Turned out well
This isn't your typical tourist motel, but we had a good stay. I was having no luck with the calls I was making to various motels in town for the following night - apparently, the town is a stop over point for bus tours. One clerk gave me some suggestions of where to call, which included Mountain View. This is an older property, but some recent improvements / updating were evident. I was told the owner had changed fairly recently. It appeared that most of the guests were perhaps road and / or construction crews, and probably some longer-term residents. There is no AC in the room, but we did fine since it was mid-September and the weather was cooler. We had the window open in the evening, then shut it when we went to bed, and used the table-top fan for circulation and white noise. We were on the back side of the front wing (on the courtyard, if you will) and we didn't hear any highway or resident noise. There's not an ice machine, and the mattresses had some age on them, but the WiFi was good, the room was clean, there was microwave, coffee, fridge, table and chairs, TV, desk - all the things we needed. The price was lower than other options, as well.
staying at mountain view motel
tammy, paul and rey are the best, they treat you like your their family, anything you ask they're on it right away, ca couldn't ask for more, very reasonable price specially i'm a worker, room is very decent and renovated, i'll stay here everytime I get back here unless they are fully booked, 10 / 10
Convenient stop
My husband and I stopped for one night on our back from our Alaska road trip. Smithers is a little pricey but this motel was on the lower end. The gentlemen at the front desk were extremely friendly (we had met one of them 2 weeks ago on our way to Alaska at the Florence motel also in Smithers). They gave us a room with a small kitchen and made sure that we were comfy which was the case. The kitchen was very nice because we could stock our food from our cooler and have a homemade meal rather than dine out. Despite being next to the road, the room was quiet. Wi-Fi was fast. Our only complaint was the beige bedding and towels which makes it hard to tell if there clean or not (probably the whole point...).
No Mountain View
Thought this hotel looked kinda quaint and inviting. Chairs outside the doors, so you can look at view. The view we got to look at was a parking lot, and highway. The hotel has no air in the rooms, you have to open a window, which has no protection, no screen. So not a safe feeling, as well as not legal I do not think to have a window like this, and no air in the room. The room was clean. The blanket on top did smell a bit musty. The patrons staying here were noisy, walking above all night, outside, and in room. The one tenant opening the balcony door all night long, traffic noisy, especially if you have to open the window in room because it is stuffy, and no air. Too much drinking outside by patrons, looks bad. I will say though that the young lady who booked us in, was very nice, and gracious, a bit slow in checking us in, but friendly and helpful. In the summer time this hotel would be brutal with no A / C, no air.
Party in Parking Lot
Very little done about after-hour noise here, despite what the sign says in the office. Had to listen to loud voices and loud music til the wee hours. Other than that, place was ok. Large room, updated bathroom. Bedroom could use updating.
Simple accomodation - does the job
The welcome at Mountain View by the owner is warm and accomodating. Though the motel is rather worn out and the other guests one of a kind. Not always feeling very secure, to phrase it diplomatically. The room though was clean with all amenities needed and also a laundry room on premise.
Great host and very efficient chambermaid, very clean
Terry the manager is wonderful at accessing the needs of his clientele. He is fair to everyone. My room was beyond clean, great chambermaid Tammy, who also looks after her customers needs. Updated, super clean bathroom.
Good, economical stop over for a night
Stopped here while travelling to the coast. Older motel but very clean and comfortable. Price was very good. Location off the highway was convenient. The management was very helpful and accommodating to whatever we needed.
Travelling on motorbike
Read reviews before arriving which determined our stopping in. Very spacious, quiet on the back side of building. Some folks staying long term but not an issue, everyone very nice and friendly. Room is clean, towels could use an upgrade, as well as linens. Terry the manager is super helpful and freindly. Beautiful hanging baskets which shows the management cares. Laundry on site very clean and lots of them, which i took advantage of. Lovely chairs and table outside our room which lots of motels don't provide. Very helpful while travelling on a motorcycle
Clean economical pleasant
I chose this motel because we were travelling with our dog and only needed one night. Terry was a great host. He showed us the room before we agreed to stay and let us check in at our own pace. We chose a room with a kitchenette. The downsides are it is older, the use of scents was high and a few mouse traps around the room had to be moved before the dog found the peanut butter. No big deal. After all taxes in and $10 for the dog it was $120 CDN. ($95 $10 plus tax). I would stay again
Average
Old and tired but it is clean. I read the reviews before booking and relied on them. It was a bad mistake on this one! The reviews were not accurate. Furnishings on their last legs. Chairs in room were falling apart. Should replace all furniture in room. Will not stay there again. I do this trip every two years.

A clean, convenient, affordable pet friendly motel. Norma and Terry were excellent hosts and provided a service that we truly appreciated! We had a great stay on our way from Alaska to Spokane and made a point to return to Mountain View Motel on our way back home.
Nice, nice, nice.
Great value... Fully equiped rooms. Full cooking facilities, friendly and helpful staff. I wish we could find more places like this to stay... We were really pleased with the room. It was a very nice surprise to find after a long drive.
A Good Motel
I stayed there and the room was clean and very large. A very nice man Terry Madley met me and was very helpful. The hotel is close to downtown. Just a nice place to stay with parking right outside your room.
