Quiet restful experience

Great place. The staff were so helpful and accommodating. Large property that was well maintained. Room was spotless and well kept. Beds were comfortable. Property was tucked far enough away from everything, yet was still close to the active areas in town.

Little Hidden Gem in Gravenhurst

Owners were very accommodating. We were driving 4 hours away to take our grandchildren to Santa's Village so we were watching the weather. We booked the family suite, then cancelled due to weather forecast then rebooked again. Owner was very nice and totally understood. Pool was great for the kids. BBQ's on site if you wanted to bbq. Beautiful view of Gull Lake from balcony. We were ground floor but still had a nice balcony. Accommodations were perfect for what we needed and got good value for the money we paid. Would definitely stay again.

Terrific waterfront motel

a nicely reno'd 1960's motel in a residential area. All rooms have balconies with good views of Gull Lake close to downtown Gravenhurst. Very clean with kitchenettes, newer sheets, towels & comfy bed. The heated outdoor pool was also clean & there are 3 BBQ's & a large treed grass area along the lakeshore. Good value at today's elevated hotel prices. Also has 1BR & 2BR suite for families.

Great Value for Lakefront Views

Room is really good value as it included a kitchenette as well as a balcony to overlook the lake. All the essentials you need for travel are provided as well. Room was very clean and most importantly the bed was comfortable. Location is ideal being right on the water and also being really close to fast food restaurants, grocery store and coffee shops. Staff was very friendly and accomodating.

Nice inn on the lake with scenic view

My room was large enough for a single person or couple to relax, though I believe they have bigger rooms for families with kids. My room had everything that was promised: a kitchenette including toaster, coffee maker, oven / stove, refrigerator, and microwave. The appliance were on the small side. I only used the coffee maker and microwave so I cannot say whether the other appliances worked or not. The bathroom had a tub / shower, small vanity with single sink, and toilet. The bed was clean and comfortable _ no bedbugs or no critters of any kind in my room. My room had a balcony overlooking a small clearing in the forest that backs right onto the lake. Other positives: the Inn has a laundry room, and there is an EV charger in the parking lot. There is a spacious play / barbecue area down by the water. Also a large wooden patio with umbrella tables so you can eat outside if you don't want to be on your balcony, or you're with a group. I believe all the rooms have their front door at the parking lot (like a motel) and back door / balcony that looks out onto Gull Lake, so every room has a lake view. Part of the Inn has a second floor _ I think those rooms have a slightly better view with no one tromping around above you. I stayed in room 24. My room also had a window mounted heater / AC unit which can also run in fan-only mode. A few negatives with the room: It's clearly seen a lot of use. Front and back screen doors did not close properly. Kitchen cabinet door above the fridge was off one of its hinges. The easy chair by the bed was filthy, and the balcony chairs were dirty too. I didn't sit on anything other than the wooden dining chairs. The shower tiles nearer the faucet were moldy; the fridge door had mold too. I had to ask for coffee maker filters, though they were provided willingly and free of charge. Kitchenette had dish cloths and drying towels but no paper towels if you prefer those for spills, napkins, etc. I spent five nights here. It was very quiet every night. (They actually have rules about no loud music after 11pm.) I slept well and did not notice if / when I had neighbours in adjoining rooms. Overall I have a positive impression of the Inn and I would definitely consider staying here again if back in Gravenhurst. But I'd feel a bit better if the room was cleaner overall and given a bit more maintenance.

We would return!

We paid $175 for one night which we felt was good value. The room had a little kitchenette which we did not need, but we did use the fridge. The bed was comfortable, the shower was good and a nice balcony with chairs to look out at the lake. Lots of areas to sit out and they had bbq's for guests to use. 2 minutes from the heart of Gravenhurst. We would recommend and return.

Classic motel in Muskoka on a beautiful waterfront property

What a beautiful spot, right on the water, and our unit (# 2) had a lakefront balcony with 2 chairs & a table. The grounds are lovely, with the huge white pine trees, a private dock plus a small boat launch. There's canoes available too. Having a full kitchen in the room, complete with cooking & eating utensils helped to make the stay economical. Additionally, by the parking area, there's a patio with clean picnic tables plus 3 bbq's in a spacious covered grilling area. We saw the in-ground pool, sadly too cold outside to use it. Everything here was neat, tidy and clean. The internet is good, the beds comfortable, the linens fresh & new. After our morning coffee on the balcony and another walk around the grounds, sadly it was time to check out. This would be a great place to come & stay for a family vacation. Its not luxurious, nor high-end. Its a cozy, friendly place where one feels comfortable.

Hidden Gem in Muskoka

We planned a very last minute trip and decided that we weren't going to pay the crazy price where we normally stay. Luckily Pinedale had one last room available so we took a chance…WOW!!!!! Pinedale Inn was an incredible surprise. While it is not a 5 star resort it is however exceptional clean, comfortable, full of amenities and the owners are super friendly. I can't emphasize how sparkling clean the room was with the most comfortable bed ever!!!! The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you need and did I mention clean!!!! The grounds are well maintained with such nice views of the lake. We enjoyed morning coffee on the balcony looking at the lake. Also plenty of parking and well light. You really can't go wrong with staying here and we look forward to a return trip again soon.

Nice hotel, amazing location

Myself and three friends came here for a weekend. We booked this hotel without knowing much about it. We were blown away by the view from our room and the fact that we were right on the lake with a dock belonging to the hotel. The rooms were clean and spacious. Everything was quiet. Great weekend.

The Return of Danielson

We stayed in room 12. Room fresh and clean. Great view from the balcony. The sweet song of house wren, red eyed vireo, pine warbler and song sparrow round out the dawn chorus. Large pine trees grace the property which includes a spotless pool in wooded setting. Short canoe ride to lake's western descent down the hoc roc river and on to Valhalla. An ideal setting for fine whiskey and cigar tasting with likeminded gentleman. Owners friendly and attentive. Rightfully proud and protective over their beautiful property. Wax on. Wax off. Great memories.

Missed Visiting The Pinedale Inn for the Last Two Summers

I like to stay at the Pinedale Inn when I'm in Gravenhurst visiting friends. This is an older motel style inn with kitchen facilties in the rooms. Since we've started travelling again after all the Covid lockdowns, I've been keeping an eye out for the cleanliness of rooms when we stay. Our room looked very clean and the kitchen equipment was spotless as well. The beds are comfortable and the view of the lake from the room is gorgeous. I love to go out on the balcony and look out at all the massive trees and lakefront. The rooms certainly aren't fancy so if you're looking for a modern room with a glass walled shower, this isn't for you. The place has been around for ages but it has everything you need for enjoying the Muskoka area if it's a natural surrounding that you're after. The lady that greets you is very nice and friendly. I was very glad they came through the difficult period well.

Rustic, classic, quiet, motel, tucked away in a residential area.. but the VIEW! WOW

We stayed in Room 4. The Inn reminded us of the motels of the past. The person in the office was pleasant and friendly, and gave us a few choices for rooms, we picked this one because there was no one on either side of us; it was nice and quiet. We were surprised that it was an efficiency; a small kitchen area, table and chairs; standard two beds (not sure if they were doubles or queens). The unit was clean and standard. The balcony had two chairs and a small table, the " front porch " had a couple of chairs. There were bbqs nearby, and an outdoor eating area near the bbq. As this was a last-minute decision for us on where to stay, we didn't bring anything to cook, and it was a bit cool to take advantage of the pool (we never saw it either, so can't comment on that). The lake view we had from our balcony was heavenly. Mist coming off the water in the morning.. true Muskoka.

It is a classic place to stay for one, two or a family. Fabulous location

Visited Gravenhurst in July when all hotel / motel prices were being doubled and tripled. Price here was reasonable in comparison. The room with a balcony overlooking Gull Lake had a kitchenette, comfortable bed and every thing worked. The location is quiet, peaceful and the owners are friendly. This would be a perfect spot to stay if you have children. My wife and I enjoyed our stay!

Nice Location, Heavily Treed, Quiet

Middle of the road lodgings. My room had stove, microwave, refrigerator, eating and cooking utensils, all very clean. However, room cleaning needs to be improved. Headboard and bedside table covered with dust, cobweb in one corner next to bed, a couple of hairs in bathtub. A bit of maintenance work (repainting chipped paint, re-caulking bath tub) would be good too. There is access to Gull Lake, but the water is weed filled. Nice Pool.

Great spot to see Muskoka Fall Colours

My husband and I booked a kitchenette at Pinedale Inn, on Gull Lake for three nights. We enjoyed a previous trip to the Muskoka area and wanted to return to see the Fall Colours. I would like to thank Esther for answering my questions on the phone. We checked in with Sarah who was very pleasant, and later Esther and another gentleman bought over a portable heater to our room. The gentleman fixed the heat and we were super warm the rest of our stay. The view of Gull Lake from our balcony was amazing. The property had spacious grounds for walking and relaxing. On one of our strolls, we met the dog named: " Magic ". The room was very clean, the bedding was exceedingly clean. We were able to cook our own meals. We were also able to do our day trips and enjoy wonderful scenic drives around Lake Muskoka, Lake Joseph, Lake Rousseau and Lake of Bays. No other guests were near our room which meant we had a quiet and restful stay. I would love to return to Pinedale Inn, but would love if the balconies were repaired and the bird poop cleaned off the balcony. There is also a resident pigeon who lives under the balcony. Not only do the balconies need repairing but the storm doors for the front door and the balcony door are super creaky and noisy. Having to hear noisy, creaky clanging storm doors as guests come in and out of their rooms and balconies would not allow anyone a restful stay. I highly recommend Pinedale Inn for a Fall stay for couples who prefer a rustic setting.

Nice Spot

We had a one bedroom suite which was great for 2 kids and 3 adults. The place is very clean and well kept. My only complaint is that we had very few dishes and couldn't all eat together the first night.. There were 2 cups, 2 glasses, 3 plates, 3 forks, etc. Ended up at the dollar store for disposable dishes.

Unexpected trip away

What a little gem! We came to the area for the meteor shower. As soon as we walked in I went and booked for a second night! It was clean and quiet! We loved the dock at the lake and the water was shallow and mostly sandy. We would bring water shoes next time just because of some rocks and shells that were sharp. The kitchen was well stocked, kettle, pots and pans coffee maker The bathroom could use some new towels, they were a little thin. We already booked another trip up in a couple weeks!

Loved my stay

We were looking for a place on the water, and this was perfect. We extended another night as soon as we got to the room. It was clean, comfortable and the perfect location. It's only a couple minute drive to the grocery store as well, we made all our food in the room. They have canoes for rent... canoeing for 4 hours on the lake was a highlight. The front desk and housekeeping staff is friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again :)

Fall vacation

The rooms are clean and well cared for. The view is very nice. The beds are very comfy. The staff is friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay and would return to this establishment. There was a full kitchen in our two bedroom suite.

2019-08-25 21:48:00

Very clean but worn

The Good - extremely clean unit - comfortable beds and linens - rooms well equipped - nice views of Gull Lake The So-so - room finishes are worn - property is tired and would require a substantial cash injection to bring up to snuff - This property would have been very well attended in the 60's but its not the sort of place for a getaway. You can tell the owners are making a great effort to improve things. Will take a long time without a big investment. If you need an overnight stay in the area, this property is reasonably priced and clean.

Lovely family trip!

We spent a June weekend staying at Pinedale Inn. We got a newly renovated 2 bedroom unit on the ground floor. Lots of space, including the living room and the kitchen. The balcony is facing the lake, which is an amazing view. All the beds are very comfy. They have many BBQs outside for guest to use. and there are only 5 mins drive to Sobeys, Canadian Tires and other shops / restaurants. We did boating on Gull lake and is very enjoyable

Lakeside gem perfect for a weekend getaway or a family vacation trip

I rented the 3 bedroom suite for a family trip up north to see the fall colours. The place is very clean, and the view picturesque. 6 people each have their own bed, and the kitchen is perfect for my relatives who loves home cooking. There is a large patio with mosquito nets that I'm sure will be fully appreciated in the summer. I will definitely book it again the summer to enjoy a getaway weekend with my friends.

2018-10-26 20:16:18

Excellence marred by ill-fitting doors

We spent three nights in a two bedroom unit with small kitchen & dining area, living room. The balcony faced Gull Lake. It was spotless, maid service was detail oriented. Desk service was pleasant, and we had everything we needed. But... one closet door was off the track for good, and the door to the balcony would not latch, much less lock.

2018-09-20 15:53:07

Some good, some not so

My son and I stayed here for 3 nights on a fishing getaway. I had been here twice before and enjoyed the stay on those 2 occasions. On this trip (Sept. 17, 2018) we had a 2-bedroom unit and enjoyed the same beautiful view of Gull Lake as I had on the previous occasions. However, some of the peace of the past was missing on this trip because many of the rooms were occupied by construction workers who like to drink and party after work. It was a bit annoying, but being men, we could endure the noise, but we definitely would not be bringing our wives here for a vacation as long as the construction guys are there. I'm not talking about 4 or 5 guys, but approximately 15 or so in my estimation. One of those guys lit firecrackers and threw them off the balcony. As well as the noise, we found out that the doors needed adjustment because they were hard to open (because of humidity) and, as in our unit, the balcony door couldn't close because the striker plate was too high for the door mechanism. Just a matter of adjustment, but there didn't appear to be any maintenance of these things. I don't think the Inn has a lot of fishermen who bring boats along, as we did, because the launch area could use some upgrades and there would have been complaints, I'm sure. Putting all of that aside, I would go back there again once the place gets back to normal without the construction guys there. The large property has a nice dock for boats, BBQ's for cooking and a pleasant view overlooking the lake.

2018-08-24 22:39:07

Awful

The only positive feedback during our stay was the beautiful view! Accommodation very tired, owner (older man) extremely rude and made you feel very unwelcome and let's face it your the customer here so should be made to feel very welcome during your stay.

2018-08-08 07:21:53

excellent customer service

Myself, my daughter and my 2 grandsons stayed here for 2 nights in July. Room was spotless, lots of space. Nice little touches in room and bathroom. There was a saltwater pool and a hot tub. Nice way to finish a busy day and nice that it was open until 10 p. m. They also have an arcade with old retro games like Ms. Pacman. My grandsons had a ball playing in there. However I have to say that the thing that stands out most to me is the customer service. Nicest most accommodating staff. Very friendly and go out of their way to make your stay a good one. When we came back after a day at the strip, the cleaning lady had cleaned our room and lined up all my youngest grandsons stuffed animals on his bed. Even the 2 kids were impressed by that. The girl at the front desk was very nice, gave us change to play the arcade games. In the morning my daughter and I were sitting outside and the lady stuck her head out the door of the main building and said, " I have coffee on if you're interested. " The grounds are very nice, well manicured with lots of flowers. There is a small trail or dog run down to the river. It is not a far walk from town and there is a grocery store right across the street. We would definitely stay here again, we really enjoyed our stay.

Great place to stop & relax !

Love this little motel, it's a hidden gem, they have a pool, it's on Gull Lake, community fire-pit, great view from all the rooms, a couple of docks to launch your kayak, canoe etc, rooms are very clean & cozy. Everything you need is there. Will definitely come again soon.

2018-07-21 15:44:55

Great views, great location

We loved staying here. Wanted the cottage experience for a few days and this fit the bill. We were not looking for anything fancy or resort-like.. Enjoyed sitting on the dock fishing and soaking up the sun. The balcony was great with a lovely view of the towering trees and the lake. The hotel was very clean as was the pool area. There were propane BBQ's available for the guests to use as well as the kitchen in the rooms. The owners were very nice. Very close to town and the highway, so very convenient in that sense. There is also a public park and beach just a few minutes away. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

2018-05-10 07:29:31

No power, no hot water, no wifi

Good things first: our room was clean and the view on the lake was nice. Unfortunately, when we arrived, the motel had no power. Unlike the neighbouring houses, the motel does not have a backup generator. Therefore, we had no power, no hot water and no wifi during our stay. Since we booked over Expedia, the owner was not willing to give us a reduction on the price. After long negotiations, he reduced the price by 15 CAD, which we found a very small discount considering our discomfort. Also: we told the owner that we would like to check out early (7am) to which he replied we should just come knocking at the reception. When we did, he was still sleeping. We spent over two hours knocking to get him awake and be able to pay for the room. Never again.

2017-10-17 03:55:45

Room with fantastic views of Gull Lake

On arrival we were greeted by quite an abrupt man, who did not seem to speak very good English. The room had a kitchenette which had a mismatch of different crockery. The room was fairly clean and had spectacular views of the lake which was at the back of the property, there was a balcony too. The stairs leading down to the lake were very rickerty and needed replacing.

2017-10-11 15:36:24

Room wit a great view

We stayed in a 2 bedroom housekeeping room. There was a kitchen-dinette, living room, Two bedrooms, Full bathroom and hall closet. The appliances were new, the place was freshly painted. Everything was there that we needed. The balcony faced the water. The rooms were fresh and clean. The housekeeping staff was pleasant and helpful. It was a great experience.

Beautiful serenity weekend get away on gull lake

Went for a weekend away to this motel with my boyfriend and it was a beautiful weekend... Above all motel was beautiful situated right on gull lake with such an incredible view of the lake right from the balcony.. Such serenity and peaceful place where you can unwind and really relax... Very Happy with our stay would definitely book this motel again.. Its within driving distance to downtown :) just incredibly happy that we stayed at this motel and we came home very relaxed ☺☺☺Thank You Pinedale Inn for having us..

Beautiful Muskoka

We were in Gravenhurst for a wedding and booked a suite at this motel. We were quite impressed with the quality and cleanliness of the accommodations. Our room had been recently renovated. It had a new bathroom, kitchen, furniture and a very comfortable bed. The location is ideal for this looking to be on the water and in a quiet area. The scenery is gorgeous, nice dock and sitting area by the water. I would definitely stay here again.

Unreliable owner! Don't take the risk with this guy, book another hotel

We reserved this motel two weeks in advanced through Expedia and got confirmation. When we arrived at the motel after a long drive with kids, the owner found our reservation but said everything is sold out and he doesn't have a room for us. I called Expedia, they called him, and he confirmed that although he had a reservation he didn't reserved us a room. It was a weekend and every motel in the area was already fully booked for the weekend. Don't take the risk with this guy, book another hotel. (And by the way this motel looks horrible form its outside)

2017-09-05 16:52:43

What A Gem!!

Stayed here thursday, August 31. What a lovely place. The surprise of how well equipped the kitchen was. The hotel had been decorated in " comfortable decor with laminate floor. The bed was a cushion top bed. Beautiful sleep. And the view looking out on Gull Lake was wow! Let me assure all of you who are complaining. Go and stay in some of the motels in Parry Sound with no view of the water, very outdated decor and rooms there for a night is in excess of $140.00 to $150.00. The Pinedale Inn is a castle compared to these places. We will certainly be back

2017-07-18 14:00:52

Great value

Great value of money. Very good friendly service from the owner. Great facilities especially the pool which is super clean and perfect for kids. Really nice waterfront location. Rooms are a bit dated but clean and have a useful mini kitchen

2017-07-13 21:03:14

Awesome place to stay

Very clean rooms, easy access to the town. Nice and quiet at night. Slight language barrier with the owners, but not a deal breaker. Nice view of the lake from the large balcony. Lots of parking. I saw a pool but I am not sure if it was operational as it wasn't our interest. We will definitely stay there again.

2017-06-25 19:05:16

Delightful surprise

There are several of us that have Harleys and enjoy a weekend away. I hadn't read any reviews, but wish that I had. There is a fully stocked kitchenette in each unit. It was awesome, it brought us together and cost less then constantly having to go out to eat.. Gravenhurst is minutes away, so we bought all the necessities to eat breakfast lunch and dinner. There are also plenty of lovely BBQ's. The pool is pristine as are the rooms. The housekeeping ladies work very hard and it reflects in cleanliness of the rooms. Every room has a view (balcony with chairs) of Gull Lake. There is no beach but there is a large dock and the swimming is good. The owners are always available and eager to please. The grounds are very well maintained. We all agreed that we would definitely go back.

Quiet, Clean, Basic Motel with Lake View from the Balcony

My friend and I spent two nights at this family-run place during the long weekend. It was reasonable price considering the space and its closeness to the lake shore. I would definitely go back whenever I have the desire to spend some peaceful time in the heart of nature. I woke up to the sight and the scent of pine trees and the birds chirping non-stop! We had nice time. We felt safe and comfortable. There were several small families with kids and also young people (all well behaved:) Warning: Stick to the checkout time (11 am) not to make the family upset.

2017-04-16 14:09:19

Horrible Service

We booked a room with a queen size bed at this motel through hotels. ca (had the confirmation number) and even called ahead to the motel to confirm. On friday afternoon when we had arrived the lady at the desk said they had our reservation but there were no queen sized bed rooms left and only had a room with double bed left. She immediately blamed expedia and hotels. ca and was trying her best to convince us that it was an upgrade from what we originally booked. The other owner (an older man) was rude to my mother who was staying at the motel with us, but also woke us up at 7:30am by banging on our door. In all the motel is very nice, great kitchenette, beds are very hard, great view and grounds but the service is absolutely horrible. Do not recommend.

2017-04-09 19:48:18

The view to love

Room clean and comfortable. The dishes and everything for the kitchen was a surprise, you can cook an entire meal and enjoy your evening on the patio with the sun going down over the lake. I can't wait to go there when the ice melts

2016-09-26 17:15:03

Cheap and Cheerful !

Basic motel with spacious rooms that are nice and clean. Right on the shore of Gull Lake and very close to the downtown of Gravenhurst. Rooms are nice and clean and our bathroom seemed to have been recently updated. No wi-fi or room safe, but nice little kitchenette and a large balcony overlooking the lake. In fact all the rooms have either a balcony or a terrace facing the lake which is nice. We would definitely stay again if we needed to. Good value for the money.

2016-09-19 16:25:10

Great View

This is the cutest inn. Beautiful view of Gull Lake. Rooms are clean and modern. Kitchen has everything you need (just bring food) I love this place! Nice pool area. The owners take pride in their motel for sure.

2016-08-29 09:33:59

Either dishonest or unable to understand

Having seen rooms advertised online at $80 a night, I called the motel and asked if they had any rooms available at $80. The man responded yes and asked if I wanted to book. There was quite a language barrier so I asked again if it was $80 and he confirmed that was the case. When I arrived at 9.30 pm I went through the registration and noted him writing $109 on my card. I checked that he was aware that I was the person he spoke to earlier and that we had agreed $80. At this point he became unpleasant and dismissive - he completely denied the agreement but indicated that it was him I had spoke to. I walked out as he was not prepared to discuss and was being quite rude, although I did ask him to assure me that he wouldn't be charging my credit card first, as I felt that I was being conned.

Great little place off the beaten path

Wonderful little place! We traveled with 2 13 year old boys who found plenty to do on site. The lake was perfect for swimming, the yard large enough for guests to have their own space near the lake. Volleyball, basketball, a pool, hiking near by and canoe rentals for activities. One of the boys caught a Bass from the little dock. The kitchenette and BBQ's offer a great alternative to restaurant eating. A perfect budget friendly option. It is an older place but it appears they are updating where they can and is clean and well maintained. Staff are friendly and helpful. And the best part is the lake view from your bed and balcony!

A Motel With A Cottage Vibe

I have been visiting Pinedale Inn for the past three years. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms have always been clean and they all come with a gorgeous view of the lake. They come in different sizes depending on the number of people. Pinedale also has canoes for rental, a bonfire pit, about 8 barbecues, an outdoor pool and a small playground for kids. Another bonus is that travelling there is quite easy as the motel is only a 2 hour drive from Toronto and just a couple of minutes off Highway 11 in Gravenhurst.

Close to everything gravenhurst has to offer

I have been to Pinedale Inn several times and it's a great place to stay in Gravenhurst ! It is close to the town and the wharf. They have renovated most of the suites and the suites are clean. The balconies have a beautiful view of the Gull Lake. The staff are also very friendly and accommodating!

Classic motel with a beautiful view

Very cute classic motel perched on the shores of Gull Lake. It is not the Ritz, but if a comfortable, clean room is what you want - here it is. All the rooms have big balconies overlooking the lake and the green lawns and pines along the shore. You're also right in the heart of Gravenhurst and Muskoka for a great motel rate. Also includes a wee kitchenette. Friendly owners. The exterior of the hotel is a bit on the older side, but don't let that deter you. We will definitely be back.

Ideal for Family Vacation in Muskoka

We discovered Pinedale Inn 4 years ago when we were looking for an affordable Muskoka fMily vacation. The staff are incredible & the location is ideal. The rooms are very basic but have everything we need, including WiFi & a kitchenette. All units overlook the lake & the sprawling back grounds. The swimming pool is surrounded by big trees & a large fenced in deck. There are BBQs & a basketball net in the front of the units & Gravenhurst is just a 5 min. drive for everything you need. This will be our 4th year going & we can't wait to go!

Hidden Gem

I have stayed at the Pinedale Inn Motel a few times. It's great for groups. They have a variety of types of rooms to choose from. It is not fancy, but it is very clean & the location is perfect. We attend events at the Frosty Pint Pub and it is a short taxi ride from there. They also have BBQ's available. It is located on Gull Lake, which is what you see out your back window. It truly is a hidden gem.

Awesome motel for the price

Stayed here for one night in Feb 2016. The room was clean (a tad outdated but that really doesn't bother us). Had a kitchenette with microwave, fridge, freezer, oven as well as dishes, cutlery, cups, frying pans etc. The best part was the porch with the amazing view! We will definitely be staying here again. Great room with a great price tag!

Horrible Experience

I booked a room on Expedia with my credit card details days prior to arriving. I received a booking confirmation number. After driving over two hours the front desk clerk told me they had double booked and had no room for myself and my two children. The worse part of the experience is that she had no accountability and blamed Expedia. She said it was not her fault and there was nothing she could do to accommodate us. She actually got frustrated with me and gave me attitude. She had terrible customer service skills. Recommendation: stay at the Oakwood Motel, staff was friendly and rooms were very clean!

Perfect Muskoka Getaway!

Just spent a few nights at the Pinedale--we have been loyal customers over the past several years. Beautiful quiet location, spacious room, clean, and friendly staff. The kitchen was well equipped and we were thrilled to have a proper coffee maker. Earlier patrons who complained the china was mismatched were being ridiculous--the motel has a cottage-y feel and the odd missing utensil or mismatched item makes the whole experience feel more rustic and holiday-like. Definitely not a chain hotel experience and all the better because of it! We highly recommend it!

Great view, clean rooms, excellent price

Stayed with my 5 year old daughter at the end of August. I was pleasantly surprised. We had a lovely view of Gull lake from our private balcony, the room was clean and the kitchenette came with everything we needed, including dishes and tea towels. The rooms could use a little upgrade (grout in the bathroom floor was coming out), but overall it was great for the price. We played on the small playground and swam in the well cared for pool. The owners are lovely, and it was the perfect location. We will definitely be back.

No complaints about this hotel

The room was clean, comfortable and looked after. The kitchenette was great to have - no need to go out for every meal. The view from the balcony overlooks the property and the lake. The grounds are well maintained. The lake was good for swimming and the pool is nice and it is heated. Upon arrival we noticed the room didn't have a coffee maker, and immediately upon asking a brand new one was supplied. We also asked for a fan, and again one was immediately given (I think it was the owners own fan!) The hotel is quiet and the lake is very quiet as well. Very little boat activity. We had a relaxing few days here.

Quiet cottage-like

Stayed for a week with family. Big clean rooms, pool and lakeside. Could definitely use some attention to detail though, needs updates to docks and new cookware. (Bring your own fry pan.) close drive into town and to a small beach. Very friendly staff.

Surprise, this is a sleeper!

Wife was here before and loved it, for good reasons. Right on Gull Lake. Very reasonable, comfortable, clean, well run, great staff. No restaurant but very close to downtown and harbour. Large efficiency rooms with fridge, cook top, microwave, utensils, etc. Wow view of Gull Lake, with access to lake and great outdoor pool. This place goes back to early last century but has been well maintained. Strong, free WiFi. Non-smoking. This not the Marriott but it is half the cost. Many patrons come back year after year. Save your money and use it to dine, golf, cruise. I'll be back.

End of May Visit

Indeed the nicest motel. Nice rooms, nice wooden balcony with beautiful view of majestic pines and lake in front of it. Located in a quiet section of Gravenhurst. ..

Stunning Panorama and Faultless Accommodations

Of course, the fact that it was a gloriously sunny, calm and warm early May day, and that we received an upgrade at no extra charge because the place wasn't full, and that we'd had a memorable day in the area might ordinarily influence my judgement, but - I can confidently advise that this place would still earn top ratings across the board on a miserably cold, wet and windy day in the middle of February! The location atop a natural rise in the landscape affording a panoramic view of the lake through tall trees across an expanse of grass is just so calming after a long, busy day. The facilities are comprehensive, the suite including a full kitchen complete with every imaginable item of kitchenware, crockery, glassware and cutlery - the only caveat for such an unapologetically self-catering experience being that there's no coffee or tea for the morning and we had come unprepared. Still - McDonald's is but a short drive away! Clean, well-appointed, spacious rooms and a bathroom that had all the boxes ticked complete the picture. I've seen poor ratings for service, but once the language barrier is overcome (are people so intolerant that they'll allow a culture difference to ruin their stay?) guests are left to enjoy their stay in self-sufficient solitude. That works for us.

A little gem on Gull Lake

I found this place in 2014 when I was checking out where I could stay near Granite Ridge. Since then I have stayed here at least 5 times on my own and with family and friends. The rooms are just fine- clean, updated and well-equipped. I enjoy the view from rooms 6 and 7 and always ask for them - balcony does need to be brought to code so be aware of that if you have children. The owners work very hard to renovate - last summer they brought in new deck chairs, renovated the rooms and kitchens - and I hope that their next project will be the deck at the lake. The swimming pool, playground, BBQ, s and picnic tables make for a very pleasant stay. I am heading up again very soon. Can walk from the Pinedale to Granite Ridge and to the malls and shops at the gateway to the town. The winter rate for an efficiency / kitchenette can't be beat!

quick visit

I don't know who is giving high ratings for this Inn. Although there is nothing really wrong with the rooms that I could see, Hospitality was worse than TERRIBLE. the owner does not speak much English and has very poor communication skills. When told I have native status and am exempt from paying part of the tax he absolutely refused me and told me to " shut up ". Said I was arguing when tried to explain how Indian Affairs worked. I think he needs to hire someone who is capable of relating to customers. Telling them to shut up when they are asking questions is not good for business. I did not stay. went elsewhere.

Great View

I stayed at the Pinedale Inn recently. Although the room was nothing fancy, it was clean and more than adequate for me. The view of the lake from the large window was really beautiful. There is a small kitchenette so you can cook your own meals if you like. The bathroom was outdated but everything worked and the water pressure was fine. The room had an LCD tv with plenty of stations. Considering that the area had just been hit by a huge storm which downed so many trees and caused massive power outages, the inn was running just fine and already in the midst of cleaning up all the fallen trees. When you're in Muskoka you don't really spend much time indoors anyways and there was a balcony for each room where you could sit and watch the sun rise and burn the mist off the lake. There is a dock and the lake has a soft sand bottom. Quite a bit of activity on the water with boats going by with skiers often. The staff I spoke to were very friendly as well. Bring a hairdryer if you need one and don't expect an iron and board in your room. There are very nice golf courses for everyone's budget within a half hour's drive as well.
