Riverhounds Soccer Fun
We took our granddaughter to a professional soccer game. Parking was a $10 flat rate. We had a great time at our first soccer match. Very easy to buy tickets online and quick entry. Pittsburgh won beating Oakland 3 to 1. After the game everyone was allowed onto the field to meet an get autographs of the Pittsburgh Riverhounds players.
River hounds playoffs
beautiful field, fun fan atmosphere, cheap tickets, great team. the field is seated along the river with downtown as the background. can't find a better view to watch a game at
Don't Buy the Club Section Tickets!
We went for a soccer match in early October. It was our first time at this stadium although it has been there for quite awhile. The parking was right next to the stadium and quite reasonable at $10 per car. The stadium itself is just big enough to fit a soccer field with seating in one end zone and along both sides of the field. I think it has a 5, 000 person capacity so it's not one of the larger arenas in the area. My main complaint is that we purchased the most expensive club tickets for the match and yet, there was almost no seating available. There was a nice buffet included with the tickets (barbequed ribs, chicken, potatoes, salad, hush puppies, fried shrimp and ice cream for dessert) and there were couches in the climate controlled club section. However, there was very limited counter seating facing the field and standing room along the rail outside and when people were sitting / standing there, you couldn't see anything from the inside seating. There were large monitors in the club section but they were not turned on so you couldn't see the match that way. I was very disappointed and we did not stay for the entire match because I couldn't stand that long. I think the best seats were along the sides of the field but if you want a good seat, don't purchase the club tickets.
Great Time
Had a great time at the game!!!! Great atmosphere!!! Great prices! Great view of the city! Go hounds!
Decent Soccer Venue
This is an intimate stadium. One side holds the fans. One end is for the die hard fans. The other end is food, apparel store, bar and club level. It's a nice size stadium with affordable beer and food prices.
Highmark Stadium
This is a great stadium to watch soccer. It has an intimate feel and keeps you close to the action. Prices were cheap for food and drinks. Great view of downtown Pittsburgh
Soccer night in Pittsburgh
This was the first time visiting Highmark Stadium to see the Pittsburgh Riverhounds soccer game. The seating was good and the views of the city were great. The bar area is really nice also. The food needs work. Had a burger and my son had a chicken sandwich which were both disappointing. My wife ordered coffee and wine from the bar and both were bad as well. The rugby match at halftime was an unexpected treat...
Gorgeous view
If you haven't gotten the chance to visit the stadium, you definitely should. Best view of any venue in Pittsbrugh.
Can watch a soccer game with a beautiful view of the City
This is the latest stadium built. It is on the riverfront right across the Point where the 3 rivers meet. You can watch an interesting game while having a beautiful view of the city.
Magnificent view of the river and downtown Pittsburgh
We had an evening event here- and it was great. It was nice to look over and see downtown Pittsburgh. The food was great- I am thinking it was catered by the stadium staff. It was a nice, relaxing evening.
Great venue, good soccer, but be forewarned
The stadium is very nice, and the soccer is professional. Parking was not a problem. However, we sat in the least expensive seats (there is standing room, but we wanted to sit), which were general admission. These seats are in the " end zone ". We arrived and sat directly behind the goal. However, in the section to our right was the " unofficial " Supporters Group of the Riverhounds. I guess they considered themselves to be European-style fans. The entire game they beat on their drums and sang chants. That would have been distracting enough, but many of the lyrics to their songs and chants were vulgar and profane. Had I known I would NEVER have sat in that section, and I would never take children, or anyone who doesn't appreciate filthy language, and sit anywhere near there. Unfortunately, there was no General Admission seating anywhere else, so while my son and I moved as far away as possible, we could still hear almost everything they said. To their credit, when I wrote to the management of the team their response was good. They plan to build a Family section on the other side of the stadium, which would be a good idea. However, they do seem unable to control this Supporters Group
2nd Visit
This was our second visit to the Highmark Stadium for the East-West Classic, a high school pre-season soccer tournament. Beautiful venue. Security was very nice in allowing us to tailgate prior to our sons' game. Food was plentiful, so we were happy to share as well. Only downside was being accosted not once, but twice, when I entered the bar area with the service dog-in-triaining that we are puppy raising. Your staff needs to be aware that under ADA, service dogs have full access to all facilities. The staff was not happy to have us stay, but they " allowed " it.
An interesting venue
This stadium is a soccer stadium for the Pittsburgh Riverhounds of the United Soccer League, but it is also used by the Pittsburgh Passion, a women's football league. It affords a great view of the field, as well as a really nice view of the Pittsburgh skyline from across the river. It is located near Station Square, so there are plenty of places to eat or meet before or after the games.
Sports or Music.
First time at this venue and wasn't disappointed... except for the rain! Whether listening to a concert, watching the Riverhounds or Pittsburgh Passion the seats r great. Section 101 provided amazing seating for the Steve Miller Band even though the weather wasn't cooperative. Consider parking on Mt. Washington and taking the incline to the stadium. Great views of the city all night long... at the stadium and on the incline. Go for it!
Estadio de Soccer
Um estádio de Futebol em Pittsburgh, fica ao lado do rio. Não é um grande estádio por ser de um esporte não popular, mas vale a pena conhecer.
On the rise
Enjoy an amazing view of the city while seeing future MLS stars from the Houston Dynamo fine tuning their skills at highmark stadium. Then after the game enjoy an on field photo and autograph session with your favorite players?
Average Facility
This is the stadium where the Pittsburgh Riverhounds (Minor League Professional Soccer) and the Pittsburgh Passion (Women's Professional Football) play. I was there for several Passion Games. The seating reminded me of my old High School stadium. The food choices were limited. Nachos, popcorn, hot dogs. The price to see the game was reasonable and the stadium does provide a view of the city across the Mon River. Everyone should go because these sporting teams need support also.
Great Visit
Couldn't have been to a more energizing place. Will love to come back. Great job Pittsburgh, I was very excited to be able to be a part of such a rewarding experience. Looking forward to many more visits. Thank you.
Amazing place
Went and saw the river hounds it's a great stadium with awesome sights of downtown and alot of fun. I would defiantly recommend this and see a river hounds game. Good for all ages.
Beautiful views of Pittsburgh!
I work at Station Square so so this stadium being built everyday I drove to work! Very quaint stadium with wonderful views of the city!! Nice seating for a small venue. Have a friend who plays for the Pittsburgh Passion and we attended the home opener, the place was packed and a great crowd! Concessions stands are nice, not too pricey compared to some others. Parking is very affrodable. My company also sponsored a lunch in their facilty. The food was excellent! Servers were very nice and the view from the room was very neat, looking over the whole field! Will be back!
Great venue!
New experience for our entire family to attend a soccer game and could not have done it better. Appropriately small stadium with ample seating with plenty of leg room. Not a bad seat in the whole place - use caution if you select the Supporters Section as they are a jovial, raucous group with bells, sirens, whistles, drums, etc. They added to the atmosphere but I was glad we were not in that section (it is well noted when you purchase the tickets that the Supporter Section is for a more daring crowd). Wonderful view of the city, easily able to naviagate around the stadium and you can get up close on the river side of the facility by walking on the paved path. Concessions and restaurant are pricey as to be expected in this type of venue but it was actually good food and not rubbery hotdogs. Hard to comment on the parking as it was July 4th and the lots were packed with those waiting for fireworks. It took 45 minutes to exit the lot - would have liked to have seen better traffic management but hopefully this was a learning experience. I would think for a non-holiday game, the parking would have been a non-issue. Overall, great value for your dollars, fun location, great seating and enthusastic fans!
Great place to take in a soccer game
What a location! Amazing city and river views while taking in a soccer game! They had an amazing kids zone before the game and had the kids making signs before the game. At half time, the kids showed off their signs and were rewarded with a free tshirt. The fireworks where great, although the traffic was painful afterwards but was expected due to the large crowds. All in all, a great experience!
Heaven for soccer lovers
This is an amazing new sports venue to Pittsburgh - a stadium dedicated to soccer! We have season tickets to the Pittsburgh Riverhounds soccer team's game, and it is really a great night out. Family friendly, reasonable prices, and a really great stadium.
