A most beautiful RV campground!
What a gem our hosts have here. I almost hate to write this, because I'm afraid KN will be overrun with others and we'll never get a chance to come back! ;) (This whole area is Maine on steroids!) THE most beautiful RV park we've enjoyed ANYwhere! We do State and National Parks - rarely privately owned - but we'd come back for the whole season if we could. The owners are wonderful, the history of the family-owned property is enjoyable to listen to, and the location could not be better (2 miles from the iconic Peggy's Cove Lighthouse). The views from our main windows looked like they came out of an RV catalog - you know, with their fake scenery. We even loved the two days of heavy rain and wind, with views of massive waves 20 feet from the rig. While we're on our 6th day here, everyone else seems to be more transgient - most staying one night. Fine with me! Most of the time it's been us and 2-3 others. We head back to Syracuse in a week, but I will truly miss this place - the views anywhere we go from her on will be downhill!
Beautiful water views and sunsets
We spent four nights at this campground on our way to Cape Breton Highlands National Park. Our first night we were assigned to site # 44 which had a perfect view of the back of the restrooms. The next day we spoke with the campground front desk and were able to move to a site with a view of the water. We were much, much happier in site # 14. This campground is very close to Peggy's Cove and close to Halifax. We visited Halifax two days in a row. Most of the sites have a water view. While there are no trees to separate campers, there is room between the sites. If you don't want to be behind the restrooms, avoid sites # 43, # 44, and # 45. The bathrooms were clean. We didn't use the campground showers so I cannot offer any advice related to that facility. As other reviewers have mentioned, the dump station is in an inconvenient location. The staff are very, very nice, and we would stay here again.
Great location gorgeous view
All the services you need at this campground. It's quiet. The owners are great. Each campsite has enough space and a fire place. Gorgeous view of the ocean and sunset. Even if there is no separation between the campsites, you never feel crowded.
Camping near peggys cove
Loved this campground and Paul and his wife run a very quiet camp. Some sites are right on the ocean and is only 5 minutes away from. peggys cove and a few more to pollys cove. Will definitely stay here again if in the area
Not a good experience after many good ones ;- (
What a disappointment! After staying here numerous times over the years and having wonderful stays this stay was down right pathetic. The owners appear to be overwhelmed and are having a hard time managing a full campground. Sadly this will be our last time staying here which is too bad. Maybe I will soften after some time passes and give them another chance… everyone can have a bad day!
Amazing campground
Felt at home from the minute we checked in. The owner was so kind and helpful. We were originally staying one night but stretched it into 3. The views are amazing, clean washrooms and kind owners. I hope to return next year.
Beautiful water view
What can I say, absolutely wonderful experience at king Neptunes…beautiful Oceanside sites, very close to Peggy's cove.. our hosts, Joyce and Paul were the best. you can tell from the moment you arrive these beautiful people just love what they do. We were so impressed , we had a very nice private site, number 26 right at the edge of the water, highly recommended!!!
RUDE OWNERS
I agree with another post, the owners need to retire. Extremely rude and almost aggressive. I would never recommend this campground to anyone and needless to say we will not be returning. They were even rude to my 9 year old niece when she asked when she would be able to use the showers. Very nasty people.
BEWARE RUDE OWNERS !
Never been to a campground where you have to leave your car at the entrance and a 3 hour limit on your visit, in a very RUDE way, my goodness people ! needless to say, we will not return ! RUDE RUDE !
Amazing place!
Beautiful camping spot right on the ocean, minutes to Peggy's Cove. Bathrooms were spotless, owners were friendly and helpful. From there we visited Peggy's Cove and Lunenburg. There is a place that sells lobster and other sea food right next door. The sunsets were unbelievable.
Beautiful oceanfront campsites!
Absolutely stunning view and beautiful sunsets. Quiet area very close to Peggy's Cove lighthouse. Very nice and helpful owners. They surprised us with a delicious homebaked cake for our wedding anniversary! Will definitely come back.
Nice location but unfriendly staff / owners
We are two retired seniors who were out exploring the area. We were booked into your campground a few years ago but had to cancel due to extreme weather and thought we would drive in to see the campground for future use. We are avid RVers and have never been told we could not drive through a campground (and always stop to ask) even during COVID. We understand and respect your position but was appalled at the fact that neither of you would listen to our side. You were rude, unfriendly and over the top accusatory!! We did not see a sign and did stop and looked in the shed. Neither of us saw the man and because our windows were up did not hear if he yelled at us. Even on the way out he could not be seen although we could see right through the plexiglass! You made us out to be criminals trying to get in a place we were not allowed. Perhaps a gate would work better if you are that adamant and rude about people driving through. My daughter was on the phone and she couldn't believe the argumentative way you responded to an honest mistake! We had never planned to get out of our car and merely wanted to be able to see for ourselves and recommend it to the camping groups we are in! Obviously you don't need the good reviews or you would be much more tolerant of people just trying to see your space and make a reservation!
Across Canada trip. Beautiful relaxing stay. Lovely ocean front camping spots. MUST STAY!
Absolutely beautiful spot. Can see it being really packed in during a busier season. Spots are close together. It was quiet when we visited. Beautiful view. Clean bathrooms. Nice hot showers, but nothing fancy. We loved our stay and will definitely come back!
Shockingly rude and nasty
Shockingly rude staff with a big chip on their shoulders. Beyond belief. What a shame - not what you would expect from Maritimers. They should retire and find a good therapist and leave the rest of us alone. I wouldn't camp here again if you paid me.
What a great spot
We stayed only one night after visiting Peggy's Cove which is 1 or 2 km away. What a great location with beautiful scenery. We had a site right on the ocean and the view was just spectacular. The owner Paul is a gentleman.
Great Oceanside spot!
King Neptune was a perfect spot. Small, quaint Oceanside campground with spectacular view. Beautiful little cove a short drive from Lighthouse. Hosts were very friendly and were a huge help when we had a flat tire in the am. Owner had a compressor and bailed us out big time. Saved a day of our vacation! Cash only may be bothersome to some but the overall cost was very reasonable in part because of this policy.
Horrible!!
We were extremely disappointed at this campground. We made reservations here 1 year out for a 38 foot travel trailer for 1 week requesting 3 way hookups. We have camped for many years in the US and have thoroughly enjoyed camping here in Canada as everyone here has been so nice. We arrived right before the office closed and it was night time. This owner was about as rude and nasty as we have experienced in our many years of camping and certainly the worst in Canada! We were shocked at how rude the owner was and then came the lies. When we arrived the owner said there was not a 3 way site available. I asked him why and he said we only booked for 4 days. Lie # 1 was when he said that we only scheduled for 4 days because we clearly confirmed our reservations that clearly stated 1 week and he said they would try to get us a 3 way since we were staying so long. (I have attached a screen shot of that email). After talking with him about needed a 3 way magically a 3 way came open (Lie # 2). After putting us in a (pull thru) site we noticed the next morning that there was no way we could pull thru the site as it was bunched up on other campers and no room to turn around. (Lie # 3). The next morning we noticed how TIGHT all of the sites were (photos attached) and there was absolutely no privacy. Our " view " when we walked out our steps was of the dump site and showers. (Photos attached) There was also zero accessibility to the water. You had to walk thru other people's sites to even stand there and look at the water. So they may advertise as waterfront (they are) but only the campers that are on the water have any kind of access. We were so disappointed with our experience here we spent one night and left the next morning. And in true fashion at how rude the owner is, as we were trying to leave he starts yelling at us (in front of the other campers) and gets mad that we are leaving. I would NEVER stay here again. It's bad enough to have such a rude owner but even the campsite was run down and extremely tight sites. Not relaxing at all!
Excellent, family friendly campsite
We came for three nights, ended up staying for eight! Really lovely campground right on the ocean in a very calm cove with its own little beach. Incredibly kind and friendly owners go out of their way to help with any issues you might have. Kid friendly and fully complying with Covid-19 measures, unlike many in the province. 100% recommended and we will be returning!
Best little rv park around
Great location, beautiful scenery and very nice owners, lots to see in the area and fresh local seafood right next door, I highly recommend this campground, we will be back. We have a 36 ft toy hauler rv
Great Location
Great location, about 5 mins away from Peggy's Cove. Campsites right on the ocean. Owners were nice and very helpful. We were able to go explore the area. Nothing like camping ocean front. Will definitely stay here again when we travel to Nova Scotia again!
Wonderful way to end a vacation!
Highly, highly recommended if you're in Nova Scotia. Close to Halifax and Peggy's Cove. An hour from Lunenburg. Right at the water. Beautiful sunsets. Friendly owner. Fresh lobster just 200 yards away and many 5 star restaurants. Sure Wi-Fi was spotty but really, if your nose is on a phone or laptop you're missing the point!
Nice View
This is a small park and the roads and sites need a lot of work. It is very hard for larger units to level and maneuverability is very limited. Once situated you have a nice ocean view and it is close to Peggy's Cove.
Beautiful spot
This place is really great. The showers especially need updating, but they were basically clean. The bathrooms did not bother me at all. The owners are very sweet and personable, really seemed to want us to have a good time. Can't beat the harbor side campsite. Just gorgeous.
The bad outweighed the good
We made our reservation in January for a week in July. When we arrived we were given the worst site in the campground, even though we were second on the list... The site was within 10ft of the slamming bathroom doors and air hand dryers. We were able to move, after fully setting up, but did not feel well treated or respected. WIFI is essentially non-existent. Water pressure was below 20psi. Nice views, but tight sites. Same price for FHU or just w / e.
what a view
I wouldn't say that all the sites at this campground are great, but because we had one of the front sites right on the water, I am giving it 5 stars. We were traveling from Ontario and what a great experience to have a campsite overlooking the ocean. We had our coffee every morning watching the ocean, and saw beautiful sunsets every evening. They do not reserve sites ahead of time but if you can get a spot right on the ocean, you won't be disappointed. We had site 26 for 5 nights and I think it was one of the best sites. We were with our young kids and I was worried about them being too close to the ocean, but there is a good amount of rocks between the sites and the ocean and we didn't have any trouble keeping them off the rocks. They do have a small playground that was enough to keep the kids busy for a bit, but they had more fun catching rock crabs and hermit crabs down by the pier. Showers (cost 25 cents) were hot and I could tell they had been recently cleaned. We had a great experience here and would totally recommend it to others.
Not a fan
Sites are so close we were unable to put out our awning all the way, afraid the camper next to us would run into it. No shade, all the sites were open and extremely close together. A check in the employee was courteous, but not knowledgeable about RVs and sites in terms of what futs where. One positive is the location. Close to Peggy's Cove Light and Halifax.
Good thing there's an ocean front
We had a pleasant stay until the campground owners allowed guests in at 430am. If only they would have parked and sleep the rest of the night. They slammed doors and yelled at each other until 8am. If guests are allowed in the campground at that time, they should be reminded of the normal hours of sleep here.
Amazeballs
Needed a night away from the house... so booked at this campground... and sooooo glad we did. The sites are a bit small in parts of the campground but most overlook the water. The sunsets are divine. A restaurant across the road if you don't feel like cooking. Washroom was clean. You do have to maneuver a bit to get your trailer into the dump station. We will definitely go back
Great Expereince!
Great experience at this campground, incredible views, good value. The location was ideal for day tripping. The owner was very friendly, walked us directly to the campsite, it was clean. I definitely recommend this area to visit.
Treasure by the ocean
This is an old campground but is a great location. Easy to get into and set up your RV or tent sites. The owner Kay and family are very friendly and helpful. Only minutes from Peggy's Cove and Swiss Air monument is within walking distance.
The most beautiful spot in Nova Scotia near Peggy's Cove
Tent camped for one night next to the cove. Lovely. Well run Campground with clean bathrooms. Tent sites aren't private. No camp store. Not too much around the area in terms of restaurants, shopping. I would recommend this Campground.
An Old Fashion Gem.
If I had to sum up my feelings about this campground in just one word it would be.... Wow...! We pulled in for a two night stay and were immediately impressed with the friendliness of the owner, their reservation system (definitely old school) and, most of all, the view. King Neptune sits in a quite cove area with a lighthouse view and numerous colorful boats and skiffs. The sites, though a bit small, are laid out in no particular cookie cutter way which is something I prefer. Their is a rocky shoreline and they leave it up to you to take the risk, if you wish to climb to the waters edge. Of course I did. There are also a few old structures that, against your own risk, allow you to enter and enjoy. The bathhouse, though dated, is clean and well kept with good hot showers that cost 25 cents for five minutes. This is a great spot to take some special photographs of the harbor as well as the sunset as it looks out over the water to the west. I'd definitely stay here again and I recommend you do as well.
Permission to Park Up For a Bite
My husband and I had visited Peggys Cove and on our way back out, we were looking for somewhere to park up for a picnic. We accidentally turned into Kibg Neptune mistaking it for a public park. The owner came out of the office and we asked if she would mind us parking up.. and it would be rude not to. She welcomed us and said there was no problem with us doing that, and was kind enough to point out where we could park. The view was stunning and made it just a little bit mores pecial than just a picnic. Thank you for your kindness. If I was staying here I would have marked it a 5.
Perfect stop!
We were passing by (we were going to Newfoundland) and this was our best stop! Best campground ever! Thank you so much for everything! The sunset was incredible and the owner was super friendy!
Camping Right on the Harbor
We stayed here for 5 nights, and had an amazing campsite. It was right on the beach, with a 270 degree view from our motor home front windows (site # 26). We had a 2-way hook-up (water and electric), but other sites are available with 3-way connections. While the buildings were old, the bathrooms were very clean. The sites are close together, but you can't get any closer to the water. If you are looking to stay at a 5-star resort, then don't stay here, but if all you need is a campground with some facilities and very nice hosts, then this is a great place! The grounds were also very clean, the staff were very pleasant and helpful, and you can't beat the location.
Ocean Views from almost all sites
Doing the East Coast from Toronto we are stopping at many sites on our two week trip. We are not fussy people and have yet to find a site we have t enjoyed. We often book last minute as we did here. Good clean sites no sewer on most, there is a pump out on the way out. Showers were clean as were the bathrooms. No laundry. It was also the closest site to Peggy's cove and the Swiss Air memorial. We biked to both Peggy's cove was less the. 4km. Also has great sunsets most sites have a view of the ocean
Nice owners, amazing view, poor infrastructure
The owners are very nice and helpful. The Bay views are incredible. Very few toilets and some campsites are fairly far from them. There were shower line ups every morning. There was no paper towel or hand dryer. That's very unsanitary in my opinion. The sinks had separate hot and cold taps which was probably appropriate in 1952 when the site was built but not in 2017. Wifi was great one day and busted the next. Range wasn't the issue. It was some kind of routing problem which they quickly corrected when I brought it to their attention. I think the owners are nice but they lean on Mother Nature to draw in guests rather than invest in the place.
Oceanside Camping
As said by other travelers the view is very nice as this campsite is right on the water. The sites are roomy enough but tight together. We parked our 32 foot rv easily but that leaves no room for a 21 foot truck. The low rating I gave it is because I specifically asked about the wi-fi when I checked in or we wouldn't have stayed. I was assured the signal was strong all over the campsite. While it has a strong signal, the internet connection was non-existant. So we checked in specifically to get wi-fi and once again it failed to materialize. And as for trip advisor - everything is a hotel. this is NOT a hotel, no cabins, no preset units. Strictly a bring your own campsite.
Right on the Ocean Camping
We got a beautiful spot on a bluff overlooking the ocean. We spent 3 nights there and it was great! Close to lots of touristy towns and attractions. Good facilities and great views! We would definitely recommend this site!
Ocean Front Family Camping
We stayed 5 nights at King Neptune. We were a large group and were well- looked after by knowledge and friendly staff. The location was amazing - on the ocean, with a view of a fishing operation across the bay and spectacular sunsets at night. Price was great, guests were friendly, and grounds were very clean and tidy.
For Travelers
You can reserve a spot, but not a site. We got there mid day on a Sunday for a week, and did not get an ideal site, but were told that a waterfront site should come up in a couple of days (no big deal - it was raining and the fog diminished what ever view may have been available). In a couple of days, we got a knock at the door - a waterfront site was opening up. It took us 10 minutes to move (during that time someone else asked about the site). It worked out for us, because we got a couple of sunny days (and views). We even had a spectacular sunset one night. This is an older campground, with old infrastructure. We had a 3 way site (30A), and my surge protector kicked off several times due to low voltage. The water was unavailable a couple of times (I watched them repair a broken line) and at other times it smelled / tasted muddy (even with my inline water filter). They do have a population of black ants that visited us while we were there (some have decided to stay until we find them). The washrooms are dated but clean with spongy floors. The 3 showers (pay) are separated from the washrooms - in the same building. The grass sites are mostly level, and yes - close together. The wifi was mostly strong and reliable, but sometimes unavailable. No cable TV, and only two stations available over the air (both the same). Paul the owner / manager seems to be always present, and available. We found him to be friendly, and personable. You can stay as long as you want, but there are no seasonal sites - this is for travelers.
Great views - but…
The King Neptune is right on the beach with fantastic views across the bay. The sites are large with a mixture of serviced & unserviced pitches. It's about 5km from Peggy's Cove Apart from the view there's not a lot to recommend this place unless you're in a self-contained RV. Only two male toilets & 4 female. Only 1 hot shower (none when we arrived, although we weren't told this). No other public area at all. Not sure the camp fees reflect the lack of facilities. Make your own choice.
From Ontario. First trip East ever !
Our first trip heading east from the Cornwall (Alexandria) area. We were running out of sunlight when I decided to call a number given to us from an " Irving " gas station attendant. The other end of the line said " you are about 10 minutes from us, keep heading west ". What a relief to find the friendliest campsite. The owner came out to meet and greet us and we picked a spot to set up. NO regrets !! Hyper clean washrooms ! We will be going back next year and this will certainly be one campsite that we will be attending.
Great location
KING NEPTUNE is in between Halifax and Lunenburg, right on the ocean. The campground itself is made up of sites randomly placed to fit within the rather small lot (after all it is prime real estate ocean front property). Full hook ups, electric / water, and non service sites are available. It is a family run business, and they keep the business model very simple : cash only, spot guaranteed reservations are taken, but it is first come first serve basis to actually choose your site. The owners are very nice and friendly and the campers we encountered were polite and quiet, making the best of very close spaces.
Great family owned camp
The family who own this park are very very nice. I needed some tools and when I asked one of the family members. The guy went in his tool box and happily leant me what I needed. We switched sites and the lady (Kay) asked if she could help carry our table and some smaller stuff to the next site. The location is maybe 2 minutes from Peggys cove. There is a Lobster pound you can walk to in 2 minutes with excellent lobster. It has a rocky shore line so you would have to be carefull with young kids. If we are ever back we will stay there!
Maritime adventure
The campground has the best views and a wonderful sunset. It is " hippie chic " '. The owners--original--i met the sweet / spry 93 year old yesterday-are fantastic. Things are old but very clean. We met new camping friends daily.
Bi-annual trip to DAL
We took our son back to Dal U in Halifax and we travelled by RV. We researched RV parks around Halifax and settled on King Neptune because it is right on the ocean. The location is superb and our site was overlooking the ocean. Some sites have full service, but not many. Our site was an easy back-in and had water and electricity. We needed to use leveling blocks. The campground is well kept and clean. There is also a lobster pound next door, a great little cafe restaurant across the street and another more upscale restaurant a short walk away. The drive towards Peggy's Cove is windy but beautiful. We enjoyed our 2-day stay and recommend it. We have a Class-C RV.
Our week
We hated to leave this morning for Cape Brenton. We had one of the best spots at the park! Owners friendly and hard working to keep this park looking great. Would come every year if I was local. And do not miss the lobster at Ryers next door.
Best cliff side views ever!
We were tent camping, now because of rain and strong winds we chose to give up our cliff side sight, to pitch tent in the back with tree cover, but if weather is pleasant, get the front row. Otherwise the campground is a large amount of large motor homes that you get behind in the back or sides. Bathrooms were reasonable. Ground was a bit uneven but that will vary.
What a fantastic place to stay!
We loved this campground and actually detoured from our planned itinerary to visit it based on a Facebook post that a friend had left about it. The staff were amazingly friendly, the views were fantastic and we could walk 100m to the place next door to buy lobster and mussels, fresh or cooked for you. I couldn't say enough good things about this place!
Great campground
Wife and I came here for three nights to visit Halifax, SN, and Peggy's Cove, but fell in love with the owners, campground, and area. We have stayed three weeks. The location of this campground is a great base for visiting South Shore NS area. The sunsets are picture perfect overlooking St Margret's Bay. Very nautical inlet with restaurants close by, and right next to a lobster outlet.
awesome place to stay right on the ocean
Great place to stay but its a first come first serve basis. you have to reserve but to get the best spots you have to arrive early and hope someone has left or is leaving. Change over is quite frequent for most but there is a lot that stay for a month or more at a time. they have full hook ups or just water and electric or just a site for camping if you want. Full washrooms and is very clean. showers cost 25 cents for 5 minutes. you can buy wood for the fires at $5 a bag as well. The wood is still pretty green so doesn't burn very well though. We got lucky and had a spot right at the rocks that overlook the ocean. Lots of friendly people would recommend it to anyone. It is pretty far down though towards peggys cove light house so to go anywhere you have to travel back 22 kms to start to go any where. Ryers lobster pound is right beside the park ground where they have picnic tables so you can eat it right there or order one or two or as many as you want to go fully cooked or fresh your choice. Sunsets are also very nice there as well straight out into the ocean you couldn't get nicer views.
Ocean View
Stayed three nights could have stayed much longer! we stayed on site number 24 ocean view right behind the owners home the smell of ocean was just amazing, meet some great people from California, and Ontario. This campground is so close to Peggys Cove we visited multiple times. Ryers Lobster Pound is right beside if you like Lobster it's an absolute must visit paid $44.00 for two 1 1 / 2 pound lobster they cut for you with warm butter, make sure you get there before 4:00pm they stop cooking at that time but you can get live after that time. The bathrooms and showers are old but spotless and you can tell this place is well cared for. The owners don't take credit cards so cash or Canadian debit only which wasn't a bother only $35.00 a night for this is cheap breathtaking view was worth every penny.
WOW!
We stayed at this campground for 2 days but would have stayed forever!! The view from our campsite of the ocean was amazing. We had hydro and water hook ups on our site. The public washrooms and showers were so clean you could have eaten off the floor. The owner and family were friendly and helpful and made you feel welcome. We met many friendly campers for all over Canada and the USA. It was a 5 minute drive to Peggy's Cove and even a shorter distance to the Memorial of Swiss Air 111. There was a " pounder " just outside the park gate that would cook you fresh lobster, served with drawn butter. Yum!!
Ocean view possible
We stayed here for three nights while visiting the Halifax area. This is an older campground, but in relatively good shape. The sites are layered on the hillside and about half have a nice view of the ocean. The location is good, within 5-10 minutes of Peggy's Cove and the Swissair 111 memorial. The drive into downtown Halifax is pleasant, about 45-55 minutes. There are several nearby restaurants and art galleries. Fuel and groceries (Atlantic Superstore) is farther away, about 20-25 minutes. The reservation system is unusual. I called the day before and was told they'd have a place for us. When we arrived, we were given our choice of available spots. Once we had a spot we could choose to stay as long as we wanted (1, 2, 3 nights, a week, or a month). If a better site became available, we could move to it. The campground takes cash or debit cards, but not credit cards. There is free WiFi, but it only worked for a short time for us. The Rogers cell service worked well.
Can't beat the view!
You'll feel like family at King Neptune Campgound. When we arrived we were walked around to select an available site, the ocean views are on a first come, first serve basis. We selected site 14, which had an amazing view. The hosts are super friendly and even cooked up some snails that the kids found on the rocks and taught them how to pull them out and eat them. We had truck trouble and arrived a day later than we had reserved. They were very flexible with our dates without charging us for the change. We liked it so much we stayed an extra day! We would definately return.
Fun times
Came in late to the ground but there is so much to see. I love the fact that we are on water and you can see just how beautiful the grounds are just from the site It is large and roomy spaces for the rv and campers. What is really nice is that we could come in late and check in in the morning with no hassles
Great place to stay
We spent 2 nights here. Fantastic spot to watch the sun set. A special thanks to GG who cooked our lobster for us! Would recommend staying here. Easy drive into Lunenberg or Halifax. Very picturesque place to stay
A Place to unwind and recharge😎
We arrived here and were so warmly greeted by Paul (the manager) it set our mood for the entire visit (3 days / 2 nights is way too short!). The campground is a patchwork of RV sites and unserviced / tenting and is ideally situated to visit Peggy's Cove and the surrounding area. We selected a 3-way site on a knoll that overlooked the ocean - the views are simply breathtaking. Next door to the campground is a retail outlet for lobsters and other shelled delights! The park wifi worked well - not that you'll want to spend much time on the net, given the natural beauty of this place! Given its seaside location, there is constant wind. The genuine kindness and hospitality of the owners is first class.
A Great Spot
My family and I stayed there with our motorhome. The location is to die for. Right on the water, very close to Peggy's Cove and a few meters from Ryers Lobster. The owner is just a sweetheart and has been there for 57 years. There is also a great fish and chips restaurant across the street. We would stay there again without a doubt.
Camp here!
Some sites are right on the water and all sites have a great view of the water. The owners are very helpful and care for their campground very well. Had a few great days here and am the happiest I've been with the location / setup as ever!
A gem of a little campground located right on the ocean
This was our first time camping at this campground. It is rather small (approx 62 sites), only 11 3-way serviced sites and quite a few 2 way sites, plus dry camping sites. The owners have had this campground since 1952 and are fantastic. On Canada Day, the owners treated all of the campers to a great FREE picnic with hot dogs, home made salads, and deserts that were delicious. We even noticed that they had homemade ginger bread for an incoming group, since they missed the picnic. The owner is 90+ years old and is spry and active as most people a lot younger. Her family helps with the day to day operations and are very friendly. The very best thing we can tell you about this is that it's location is right on the ocean with a fantastic view (sunsets, etc.) and the closest campground to Peggy's Cove, which is only a few kilometers away. There is limited playground equipment and no pool, however we would definitely recommend if you are looking for pure beauty and a unhurried, family experience.
