Excellent neighbourhood Italian comfort food
Location: Located on the north side of King Street, Morso Me is a take-out only place in a renovated house / storefront a few steps above ground. The actual store front is narrow, so you have to look for its red sign. Food: A great mix of sandwiches, pastas, salads and stir-frys. Pretty much everything is made in house for that great homey feel. Food portions are generous and flavourful - great comfort food. Not only do they have great mains, but they also stock some desserts such as gelato and butter tarts. You can also purchase some frozen pastas for later. Certain days carry a particular theme, so look for that on the chalk board. Prices: Prices are very reasonable and portions are significant making for good value. Service: Excellent service here. They make you feel welcome. Staff even know some customers by name. Overall: A great combination of great home style Italian comfort food, generous portions, great staff and a good value make this neighbourhood place one to come back to.
Loved the food and prices good as well
We planned on going back for another takeaway but stupidly hadn't checked the opening times or we would have known that it did not open Sunday / Monday's. Having said that the dishes we had were top quality and would have no hesitation in recommending. Be warned it is takeaway / to go only.
Good Italian takeout by the park
Very good takeout - large sandwiches, fresh pasta (all of their breads, pastas, sauces are made in-house). I live in the neighbourhood, and the best compliment I can give is that I keep going back. No seating, but they do deliver and Stanley Park (with picnic benches and free entertainment, if you like watching dogs cavort in their off-leash area!) is right across the street. Particular favourites are the chicken schnitzel and chicken parm sandwiches, and their spaghetti bolognese. See attached pics of their menu and of their daily specials. They also have a small shop where they sell pastas and sauces for those (unlike me) who have culinary talent, and a selection of English Fentimans soft drinks and (home made?) gelatos. Recommended!
Just round the corner
Staying in and AirB & B around the corner and the menu was left out for us. After a long day of playing tourist we just wanted to stay in with some wholesome food and Morso Me did not disappoint. Although the menu we had was out of date the ladies were very friendly and helpful. The kitchen was in full view of the counter and everything looked clean and fresh. The food was ready super quick and was so tasty but it's take out only. It's a shame we have plans for tomorrow night as I'd eat here again.
Best Italian Takeout in the City
Where to start.... the bread is homemade and they make it fresh daily. The sauces are made fresh too.... I ordered the Mac N Cheese and it was made from scratch to order. OMG. I was disappointed when they stopped doing Lasagna on Thursdays for the summer so I am happy to have found out that starts up again soon. The Chicken Parmesan is probably my second favourite next to the Muffuletta Sandwich. What a great sandwich!
Decent Italian by delivery
Used delivery to get pasta with bolognese and a vegetable sandwich. The pasta was fine, but a bit greasy. The sandwich had nice chunks of zucchini, eggplant, mushrooms and tomato sauce, but it was missing something to jazz it up. The bread was huge. It was a good meal of convenience.
Amazing Meatballs & Chicken Parmesan
We bought a variety of items to try this cute little gem on King St West. The meatball sandwich is amazing. Add the hot sauce. It's not crazy hot... it's actually a nice slow heat with great flavor. The chicken parmesan is fantastic as is the chicken schnitzel. We happened to be there when their future gelato supplier was there so we got to taste that. Wow. As with the rest of the food here the gelato will have no preservatives in it. Boy can you taste the difference. Looking forward to them starting to sell that. It's take out only... kinda sad about that cause it would be fun to chill there.
Pasta and More - WOWZERS
Connie and I went for the first time last Thursday after hearing about this great Italian food place in our neighbourhood. Lucky us - it was Lasagna night. We both had that and I had the side Caesar salad. About $36. Fantastic food and friendly staff. What surprised us - this is take out only! Although the food doesn't take long to prepare, you can call ahead and they have a contract delivery service. Thinking maybe we just hit a good night, we went back last night. Damn, they really are that good. I had the meat lovers pizza and Connie had the Gorgonzola pasta - $30. Our servings were filling and DELICIOUS. If you like food, do NOT ever order big box pizzas again. Affordable / saliva generating / in the 'hood' - these folks get 4 thumbs up from us!
