Every staff is a professional
I am a fan and have visited the chain restaurants since 1995 whenever on the road. First time in this location and impressed with the staff. The place is packed yet orderly. It's understandable it's bitt slower than other restaurants we have been. While waiting, Jennifer at the store was a great help for a purchase. And at the restaurant there seems a shortage of silverware and biscuits but the service staff Titi who has been very attentive handled the situation swiftly and getting us started our fresh meal. Very happy place!
Despicable and distasteful
The worst place ever. There was an inch metal fragment in my dumpling. I was literally choking on my dumpling, coughing and gagging, while the piece scratched and irritated my throat. Totally unacceptable!😡
Wish our local Cracker Barrel's were as good
We live in Tennessee, which is known for Cracker Barrel. We don't hardly ever ate at Cracker Barrel's anymore in our area. The restaurants have gone downhill, so we were skeptical about eating at this one, but our server was awesome. The food was delicious and hot. I just wish I Cracker Barrel's in Tennessee. were is good.
satisfied
This is a very convenient location near Spring Hill Suites at Airport. The location is clean, food was served hot and the servers are VERY pleasant:-)
Good service, fair preparation
The service was good but the preparation was fair. My order was for my catfish to be fried well and crispy. It came out soggy like it was possibly microwave heated.
Sub-standard Experience at a Tried and True Restaurant Chain
I've eaten at several Cracker Barrels up and down the Mid-Atlantic and this one lives up to the standards of other Cracker Barrels in the region. The staff from the outside and inside hostesses to our waitress were all very friendly. I'm still scratching my head as to the need for an outside hostess as the several outdoor tables were empty and we were told we could only eat inside. My daughter and I ordered the Chicken 'n' Dumplins Lunch Special with mine coming with a side of green beans and hers coming with a side of mac 'n' cheese. Both of our dumplins were room temperature as well as my daughters' mac 'n' cheese. My green beans were cold which was very surprising considering the indoor part of the restaurant was nearing it's maximum 25% capacity under COVID-19 and it was 12:30pm right in the middle of lunch platter. Our meals were sloppily plated much like the stereotypical angry lunch lady slopping cafeteria food onto our plate. Despite our lunches being luke warm to cold, the food tasted good. All in all, it was a typical Cracker Barrel visit, but with serious room for improvement.
Tried and true
My friend and I stopped at this Cracker Barrel on the way to Delaware. Not the first time here. They were very busy so we did a little shopping in their wonderful gift shop. What fun. The clerks held our goodies, while we ate. The food was delicious. My friend had eggs with cheese, sausage, toast and potatoes. I had yoghurt with scrunchies, fresh fruit, an egg and croissant. Endless coffee. Yummy!
Great food and service!
We always love the food and service we get at any cracker barrel and this one didn't disappoint, even when we ate at 9pm the first night we got in!
Something was not cooked right.
I had the Roast Beef. Something was not cooked right or sat out too long. I ended up with a horrible stomach ache a few hours later and spent the remainder of the over night in the bathroom letting everything go back into the toilet. Honestly it was too busy, our server " Moose " apologised for the delay several times, they appeared to be understaffed and as Moose said, backed up in the Kitchen.
Business
The Cracker Barrel near Hilton 2 rigway was one of the best ones I ever have been too. Quick fresh great service and chefs made my speacial omelettes every morning !! Ask they will do it!
Chicken and Dumplings
Cracker Barrel CB0743 10 / 11 / 19 Ridley Park, Pa. I was a little disappointed with my dinner. My wife had chicken tenders, she said they were OK. I had the chicken and dumplings my side was fried okra. Being out of the south I was raised on this. If you put a blindfold on me, I would never have been able to tell you what it was. I would never believe it was freshly slow simmered daily. My okra was way over cooked, I sent it back, the waitress brought me more and it was not any better. The cook needs to try it and see how hard it is. One other thing I ordered was tea and they only carry one type; it would be nice to have some green tea. The only good thing on my plate was the turnip greens. Emry
Enjoyable Dinner
Walked over from the Hotel. The staff at this Cracker Barrel are the best I have seen. Very attentive, courteous, friendly. I had the trout dinner. It was tender and delicious. Also came with mashed potatoes and broccoli. I love surprises like this place. Will definitely return next time I stay at the local hotel!
Lunch delicious, breakfast NOT hot, which would be fine if I ordered cold cereal
It wasn't crowded, seemed to be plenty of staff. First cup of coffee just warm, second was nice and hot. Eggs, bacon, ham and sausage just warm. Guess I will have to eat breakfast at home.
What is not to like about Cracker Barrel
I never been to a Cracker Barrel before (my husband has) I was not disappointed. I loved the gift shop. We were seated right away, I loved the kitschy decor, the triangle game on the table. I had the fried shrimp with cornbread stuffing, mac and cheese, fried apples. and chocolate cola pie for dessert. Although the dish said it came with hush puppies i never got them on my plate. Not a deal breaker. My husband had chicken fried steak with collard greens, mac and cheese and turnip mash. With buttermilk pie for dessert. The biscuits and corn muffins were good too. We bought a couple items from the gift shop. Then went back to the hotel. Service was great. Will I visit Cracker Barrel again. yes.
New Cracke rbarrel near Philadelphia airport
The Cracker Barrel Ridley Park, Pa. is new and a welcome addition to local restaurants near the airport. I went there with business friends and was pleased. This is a somewhat small version of the popular chain, but that did not affect the service or the great food. The menu a a little different that some of the other Cracker Barrels I have visited. Close to the airport, good food and prices to match.
Nice place
Good food, fast service, nice gift shop attached. You can also get breakfast food anytime of the day.
Newer, cleaner Cracker Barrel w great service and great food you expect
I was raised a southern girl and always crave some good Cracker Barrel food. (Catfish my fav). This particular store surprised me in a good way. Newer and cleaner. Great service and nice items in the store. I have sat down for meal here as well as came back for a carry out order before getting my flight out. Not far from PHL airport so even though in opposite direction of where I am headed I go out of my way to stop here
Food was disappointing 😞
During our (6+people) visit to this restaurant my experience was not satisfactory. My meatloaf was dry. The sugar cured ham was overcooked. The chicken and dumplings were undercooked. The turnip greens were flavorless. Overall my meal was so bad that it was comped. The service was subpar. Thanks Justin for the apple butter☺
Very crowded
We were given a table near the kitchen entrance. The food is alright. The waitress was very nice, and the gift shop had approximately a million items.
Great Location
I never miss a Cracker Barrel for one breakfast on vacations. This is a Great Location, great service, great food.
Always a fun place
Could not deal with hotel continental breakfast. Found a Cracker Barrel nearby so stopped in. Coffee was very good biscuits a bit under baked, eggs perfect and grits very good The people were great and the country store is always fun
We never miss a Cracker Barrel
Coming from Denmark we have learned to appreciate Cracker Barrel, never miss an opportunity to go there. OK food, reasonable prices, extremely friendly persons working there!
Always an awesome spot to recharge and grab a bite
Special thank you to the staff there that usually serves me in the crack of dawn for breakfast. The food is always great and so is the service. One of my favorite spots when traveling and when I need a recharge in the morning and always greeted with a smile
Waited 15 minutes to place a take out order, ate in
I wanted to get soup to go. After waiting 15 minutes for someone to take my order, I wound up sitting down and dining in. The beef noodle soup was inedible due to having WAY too much salt. I got the last 2 biscuits in the place, and they looked like they were the leftover, runts of the litter. I am still waiting for more! My server was nice enough but overall Cracker Barrels are NOT as good as they used to be in the past. I should have gone out but really didn't feel like going far from my airport hotel.
Next door to Hotel
We ate there twice during our stay, only because it was in walking distance of our hotel. What can I say, it's Cracker Barrel food. The first night the waitress was very rude and the same waitress tried to take our order 3 times after we had already ordered. Again, we wouldn't have went back, but didn't want to get back in traffic. The waiter we had made all the difference for our second visit. He was very attentive and kept checking back on us. I had grilled chicken and my wife had the shrimp.
Cracker Barrel
The blueberry pancakes are delicious 😋 The service was outstanding!! The staff was very friendly and the coffee was very good
Outstanding Visit
Our family stopped in on our way home from a family trip. It was our first time eating at this location, but have eaten at quite a few others. I have to say this was a perfect meal. Our server Cyril was outstanding, I can honestly say the best I've ever had. He was friendly, upbeat and attentive. He talked to us like we were family and went above and beyond in making sure we were taken care of. The food was great, it came out quickly and was exactly as ordered. Cyril also made sure we got the granddaughters food first so it could cool off before our food came out. The staff in the store were also attentive and friendly. Perfect way to end a trip...
No need to return - EVER!
We stopped here taking my mother to the Philly airport. It was the middle of a weekday early afternoon so it wasn't busy at all. Mom got a grilled cheese and soup and she said it was good. I hope it was as she would never say anything negative. I ordered the special - turkey with filling. I asked for corn and gravy. Turkey was so dry as was the filling. Thank God I had gravy to choke it down. My boyfriend had a salad with grilled chicken. He said it was pretty good but for $10 he expected more of the salad. Lettuce is cheap and there was hardly anything to it. None of us complained - first the server never returned to ask how everything was, second we didn't want to upset my mother as she was leaving for a 6 week trip to Germany. No need to return here. Next time we will plan better so we can eat elsewhere. Bottom line - the placed sucked. I really expected more from the Cracker Barrel - it isn't that hard to make decent food.
Dinner with the grandkids
Cracker Barrel has been in our neighborhood for 8 months and this was our first visit. I try to eat healthy, so did not rush as I know they have many unhealthy choices
Another great Cracker barrel
My wife and I made a quick stop here on our way up the Northeast extension. We had a really good breakfast, Chocolate chip pancakes. Very good service from a way over worked waitress. Breakfast was served very quickly and the food was excellent. We will return when in the area.
Down home cooking
Always heard about the quality of the food here but never had the experience. Stopped in after a trip with my wife and found that everything I heard was true. Great food and service was way past my expectations
Travel
Highly recommend this Cracker Barrel. The service was excellent, the food perfectly prepared and the waiter just attentive enough. The hostess even graciously offered to post some postcards for us. Most exceptional
uncle hershel breakfast cold
we ordered an uncle hershels breakfast and the eggs and bacon had been sitting for a while. we waited 25 minutes and could;nt find a manager to complain. poor service too many tables for onre person to handle.
Late Breakfast
Relatively new, but around long enough to have all the kinks worked out by now Still have trouble being seated and still a continuing wait for expected service. Seems to be very disappointing in entire waitstaff, yet food is very tasty and portions good size. Hoping they can get their act together. I should point out that we've tried them 3 different times to be able to give a fair rating.
Mediocre
. For a restaurant that advertises " home style cooking " the food tasted anything but homemade. Almost everything my husband and I had tasted very instant or like it came from a can. I had the meatloaf, mashed potatoes, cornbread dressing and turnip greens with biscuits. Meatloaf was the best part of my meal. It was good, but not great and I wouldn't return over it. The mashed were definitely instant, albeit better than most. Still instant though. Cornbread dressing was terribly dry. Disappointed to find neither potatoes or dressing were served with any kind of gravy. Turnip greens most definitely had a metallic taste like they came from a can and then were doctored up with some liquid smoke. Not appealing at all. Biscuits were ok, tasted like a regular bisquick biscuit to me and the butter was rock hard which made buttering them next to impossible. Everything was just slightly above warm when it arrived. My husband had the country fried chicken, mac and cheese, fries and fried apples. I tasted the chicken and apples, both were ok. The fried apples were basically canned apple pie filling that was warmed up. He said the mac and cheese was the equivalent of Stouffers, which was disappointing because my husband is a big mac and cheese fan. The water tasted funny and the iced tea was weak, and 100% not real southern sweet tea. The decor and ambiance are great and while we waited for our meal we even discussed possibly coming back the following week with our family of ten for a dinner after an important event, but upon getting our food decided we had better stick to something we liked better. It's a shame because the chain has so much potential but whether it's just this location or not, it falls dismally short from what it's trying to portray. Waitstaff was mediocre as well. She brought the food and drinks and that was about the long and short of it. Gift shop had some cool things but it was super cramped and difficult to really shop because of all of the people and workers filling every space while they waited for food, stocked the displays, etc... Overall, glad I can say I tried it, but it's unfortunately a one and done for us.
Good Food
This is a new location and the servers need more training / experience. I am not sure, just guessing the staff is new since this restaurant has not been open that long. I think less than a year now. It is great that there is a Cracker Barrel in the neighborhood since others are not nearby. I don't like their chocolate milk. They serve it to you in a carton with a glass to pour it in. I was so shocked that they didn't have it in a glass before serving to me. Serving in a CARTON???? Just didn't taste good and I do love milk.
Pleasant surprise
I've been to Cracker Barrel three times now: twice for breakfast and once for lunch. I've been pleasantly surprised. The food has been good, and the waitstaff very friendly. I recommend going online to check if they are busy first: you can add your name to the wait list from the website. The meatloaf, turnip greens, and corn bread are very delicious. The breakfast is simple fare, decent, generous portions, but nothing fancy.
Disappointing Visit
I'll start off by saying that I have been a fan of Cracker Barrel, and was happy that one had finally opened near me. I waited a few months after opening to try it out so that they could get the kinks worked out. Unfortunately, I should have waited longer. I tried them out for breakfast on a recent Saturday with two dining companions. We found everyone to be very friendly as the restaurant became more and more crowded. The wait for our food wasn't very long and our friendly waitress stopped by an apologized for the wait. When our food did finally arrive, the meals were just barley warm. My sunny side up eggs came under done, with broken yokes, and the eggs were tough. Now how do you make under done eggs tough? My dining companions both received wrong sides. We had both the sausage patties and links, and both have a strong (I believe) sage taste that is a bit overwhelming. The links were definitely better than the patties. The bacon, although tasty was way underdone, and the ham dried out like it was sitting out for a while. We had to ask for cream for our coffee's, butter for our crumbly biscuits, and we never received the jelly's for our biscuits that they promise. All in all, I was very disappointed in our visit and will think long and hard before returning. We have too many very good neighborhood diners and restaurants to waste our money by going here. It's a shame, because I used to like Cracker Barrel.
Great food and service!!!
Went here Friday after long day at work. I had a Rib Eye and husband had Fish Fry. was awesome. Service was great and they had lots of help. We were in and out quick. Food came out very fast. Was $34.00 for dinner for 2. Great visit. Will be going back again real soon.
Friendly Service; Pleasant Lunch
Stopped in for a late lunch (about 3 pm) last week. First visit here since they opened in November -- purposefully been avoiding it until the crowds died down, as it seemed packed every time I've driven by for the first month or so. Due to the hour, it was in between peak mealtimes, and restaurant was only about one-third full. Hostess greeted us immediately and led us to our table past the fireplace with a roaring fire -- appreciated because it was a very cold day! Made an already cozy place seem even more welcoming. Chicken Pot Pie was the Wednesday lunch special, and it was very good - hot and fresh. Service was excellent. Wait staff go out of their way to be friendly and accommodating. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because of their annoying habit, which I've witnessed in all Cracker Barrels I've been to, of the staff sweeping the floor near the table where you are eating. I realize the importance of keeping the establishment clean, but having someone sweep up a dusty floor close to where people are dining seems not-so-sanitary to me. Otherwise, a very pleasant experience.
Great Comfort Food
My son and I went to visit the new CB that opened a couple of months back. And are we glad we did. Got there around 1 pm and ordered there lunch Special. Chicken w / gravy and stuffing. You were able to pick one side also. We picked Mac and Cheese and Cheese Grits. Price was very reasonable around 6 dollars a plate. Our servers name was Ashley and she did a great job. Very polite, great manners and was back to check on us every 5 minutes or so. Our meal came out incredible fast, within 5 minutes. Chicken was juicy and sides were excellent. And I forgot to mention the biscuits. Very moist and tasty. You have a choice of corn bread or biscuits. Will definitely go back to visit. If you are traveling down 95 it is right off of the exit. Royal gas station there also to fill up if needed. Worth a visit or several visits if you have the opportunity. Thumbs up definitely.
As good as the others
For a CB that had only been open for two weeks, I was impressed. Food prep was consistent, and more importantly, so was the service. Staff was properly trained. And it was very busy at lunch.
