Prakruti Aalay Dharamshala in April
The positives : Great View of the stream flowing next to the cottages and the snow capped mountains in the distance from the superior rooms. The garden is full of flowers with a lot of fruit trees too. The sit outs and swings are enjoyable and a nice place to spend with family and friends. Food quality was reasonably good. The Chef Sunny was brilliant in his work The negatives : Rooms though comfortable are rustic The access to the road in the absence of the elevator (as was the case during our 2 day visit) is a steep mountainside descent and climb which is not suitable for those with infants and those who are not fit. The accomodation and food are overpriced.

Thank you team Prakriti Alay for gifting us (family of 13) a dream vacation. Home away from home ! Everything from the location, to food, welcome, comfort, connect with nature, was the best ! We travel a lot and stayed in a lot of fancy places but this earthly eco hotel is one of the best we have stayed in. Location mind-blowing ! Food superb and served with love ! Rooms warm and comfortable We were the only guests at the time which added to everything. Camp fire done religious every evening was so welcoming. The contant gurgle of the stream so soothing Breakfast on the terrace was wonderful experience (Approach for some people in our group was a discomfort but it was forgotten the minute they saw the snowy peaks 😂) Can not praise you enough. Mr Cook is a gem and ready to share his recipes, so is Praveen. Just hoping the place will remain as it is and maybe God willing we will visit again. Thanks !!!! Adventurous Comfort!!!
We stayed at Prakriti Aalay as a group of families for a function. The stay for two nights was very comfortable and relaxing. The perpetual rivulet flowing along is the USP of this place. The burble captures one's attention every time you step out of your cottage. There is a small water body flowing inside the resort, making it more appealing. The dense vegetation in and around Prakriti Aalay give a feeling of 'being in the lap of nature'. We stayed in Pir-Panjal'- the name of our cottage. Spacious rooms, nice toilets, 24x7 running hot and cold water, excellent and quick room service, fan, AC and traditional interiors. Nice food- both Himachali and contemporary cusine. Prompt service in the dining area by well behaved and pleasant staff. Last but not the least, the hosts- Amita and Kishore!!! You have nurtured this place with all your hard work and passion. Your hospitality was mesmerizing!!! Hope to see you again.
Great view! Pathetic upkeep and cleanliness! Apathetic service
The rooms are spacious and have good view but the linen -towels and bedsheets are stained and torn! Have never seen such dirty linen in a hotel that is charging 12k per night for a room!! The AC in the room doesn't work and despite asking the hotel people they refused to do anything. Again such apathy isn't expected at all from a hotel that is charging this amount! Giving 1 star for the location else this deserves 0 star
Best resort
The resort is ideally located in the heart of the mountains. I have been staying at this property for business purpose and the hotel staff goes above and beyond to make sure the guests are comfortable. The food was really really tasty and I really loved that there was a vast variety of salads starters main cource and desert.
Awesome experience
Beautiful place with natural vibes. I have visited about 3 times in the year 2023. I liked this resort because it's having all the facilities. This is the best property in terms of location, vibes, food, hygiene, cooperative staff. It was such a wonderful experience for me.

Great ambiance
Prakrityala Dharamshala is the best resort to stay in Himachal Pradesh. Loved the food, and kind staff. I stayed here for two nights with my family and we really enjoyed our time. Will visit again for sure.

Serene place in Dharamshala
Lovely serene place in Dharamshala. I came across the listing on a travel site and was pleasantly surprised with the place. The pictures don't do justice to the place. Amazing views of snow capped mountains with the sound of the river gushing below. The rooms are big and airy with a large bathroom. Staff is very helpful and cheerful.
June visit
I visited dharamshala on June 16, 2022 along with my husband Anurag n with my son and we were mesmerised to see the location of prakarti aalay yet on main road but secluded, tranquil. it is heaven if I summarise in one word... so courteous staff, food is osam, plus the homely feeling n river flowing n jhoolas in backyard n jungle trekking, bful river top restaurant plus open lounge, bful bridge.. what not there. It has everything.. n u feel so blessed to have nature with u everytime
Best riverside resort in Dharamshala
Fabulous view with excellent food quality, the staff was very courteous. The sound of the river can be heard while sleeping it's very soothing. I came with 2 of my friends the experience was great we will visit again.
Beautiful and blissful place
Had a surreal experience during my 3-day stay at the property. The beautiful view from the rooms and the scenery are blissful in the early morning. Nights are equally peaceful and pleasant. I would definitely recommend it if you wish to spend your trip away from the hectic city life.
Treasure of Serenity
Wow!!! What a place it is. An absolute treasure of serenity and bliss. We booked a family suite with kitchen which had all the required facilities to make your stay comfortable. The major highlights of the place were its location, food and world class hospitality. Very rare you find that the property owner is interacting with you and getting you introduced to other guests of the hotel. You get absolute freedom in terms of consuming your drinks and own cooked food in any part of the property. It was indeed a class apart and an unforgettable experience. I would highly recommend this place and once visited I am sure that you would also do the same.
Smack in the middle of nature's best!
We stayed at Prakriti Aalay for a week - there was so much to explore because we were between a river that was flowing through and a forest on the other side! We were also constantly watching the Dhauladhar range in all its beauty and magnificence:) Prakriti Aalay offered us excellent and comfortable accommodation. The food was authentic pahadi and was not spicy or oily. The staff did their best to keep us comfortable. It was also great talking with Kishore Thakur - we got a lot of advice about places to visit. We had a wonderful time!
Best of the best
Be it the amazing view, the super comfort, fantastic facilities, warmth in hospitality... you name it and you have it all here.. You won't regret even once after you enter this heavenly abode. I would highly recommend travellers to Dharamshala to stay here and enjoy the serenity of this place.. For the adventurous souls, there are mountain bike rides available and trekking too, there's a badminton court, swings outdoor as well as in the cottage balconies.. Best was the bonfire that is arranged every evening wherein all the guests sit around it and enjoy the nature. I had asked if music will be available during the bonfire and the manager made the arrangements for live music by a local guitarist! They are simply wonderful people! I have been to Switzerland and thought nothing could be more beautiful... I was definitely wrong!! Prakriti aalay is so much more... I am looking forward to visit the place again 😊😊The name of the place is so apt!!!
Dharamshala's best place to stay!
So, I stayed at this resort for 3 days with my family and this is one of the best places I've ever stayed at. It's proximity with the rivers and mountains make the experience very unique. Though, the resort is quite away from the city, it offers amazing views. The rooms are spacious, the staff is courteous, the owners themselves welcome the guests, a river flows right next to the property. They serve local delicacies along with the common favourites, and everything is really very delicious. You can enjoy a trek at the nearby hill or grab a mountain bike and go for nice ride. Lastly, if you're in Dharamshala, you should definitely stay at this place. P. S. : if there are aged people in your family, be cautious because to enter the property, you need to climb down through a slope with uneven steps.
Perfect getaway, away from the city
Prakriti allay is located a little away from the hustle bustle of the city, on the road from Mataur to Yol cantt. Google maps help one in easily locating the resort. Parking of the vehicles is in a private area across the resort. The resort is located downhill, with a 5minutes trek followed by a bridge over Manooni Khud stream. The view of the resort from the road mesmerises you. As you enter the rooms, you get a feel of Kangra architecture. The rooms and bathrooms are very clean with bed warmers attached on the mattress. So no need to worry about the cold at night. The resort arranges bonfire at the common area at night. One also sleeps in peace hearing the lullabies created by the stream near the resort. what more can u ask for? The hospitality of the resort is perfect. Staff members are very warm and welcoming. The food is just like home cooked food with perfect taste. One can also go for a river and a jungle trail from the resort. Would love to visit it again.
Serene and Beautiful
The first thing you notice is the small walk / trek down the mountain and then a narrow bridge to reach the property.... And you are thinking that you've reached, but how's your stuff gonna reach there.... That's where you get introduced to the staff, who are ever helpful and trying to make to you feel at home at the property. They love to offer an introduction to the property before leading you towards the room.... And the property is as inviting as the staff. We had opted for the river view rooms and the rooms are traditional and big, also you can hear the water flowing through the day and adds to the complete experience (a rivulet passes through the property).. And the view is nothing less than amazing.... There are numerous activities including relaxation to keep you occupied. We wanted some arrangements to be done for birthday celebration and the staff and owners were more than forthcoming in making it a memorable experience. Trekking is one of the activities you can enjoy at the property (thought we didn't) they have communication devices and sensors around the property to make sure you do not get lost and are connected with staff if any help is needed. Personal attention and interaction of the owner, Mr. Kishor is a great touch. He's very interactive and also helped us coordinate our paragliding expedition (also almost managed to convince my wife to not miss on the experience). The food here is nice, clean and local. Not fancy and big spread, but just clean good food. I might have missed on mentioning somethings.... But the crux here is that if you are looking for naturisque and nice peaceful stay.... Prakriti Aalay is the place to be.
Awesome resort with great service
The property itself is a place to visit. Right by the river and forest. Had a great stay with awesome food. They dont have a menu as such... but can literally prepare anything u want with excellence. Have seen a very few properties with such a warm hospitality. Mr. Sonu who was the care taker cum manager there took a good care of us. A must visit place.
Filled with awesomeness
It is all about experience and this property's staff ensured that we had the best of that. Ranging from accommodating our early check-in request to providing a welcome drink to take our luggage to providing constant help to agreeing to our demand of providing chess board in our room. All of that was given to us in a splash of a second. Loved their hospitality, their attitude. We had a great time there. Come to talk about rooms, had booked deluxe and it did justice to the title. Cleanliness of top notch, the water flowing has such a calming experience. You also have an option to go into the waters and even go for trekk. Food very tasty and a lot of variety as well. Complimentary water bottles. Glad I chose this property.

Great place to stay. Its beautiful and calm. All facilities are available. Staff is very efficient and kind. Must go! Its away from main market area. Food is also good. There are various areas for dining, meditation, etc.
Beautiful.. serene
We had a great time at this beautiful resort. My mother fell ill during the trip.. and the staff members were extremely supportive. From the walk in the forest to sitting by the water to enjoying a cup of coffee at their outdoor restaurant.. everything was great. Reaching and exiting the resort is via a short trek which is interesting and unconventional. Loved it.
Absolutely Stunning!!
The resort in Sukkar Khas is itself a destination. Very near to Dharamsala, I will suggest to stay here while visiting Mcleodgunj and Dharamsala, to get an unparalleled view of the Himalayas starting from Pir Panjal to Dhauladhar to the Manali Peaks. It's absolutely mesmerizing. Hardly any words to describe. Location: It's in a small village called Sukkar Khas, less than 20 kms from Mcleadgunj. This is a heaven for people looking for serenity and peace. It's some walking distance away from the main road, so would suggest it to people who is comfortable to walk hill slops, but guys you wont regret this small walk. 5 / 5 for Location. Rooms: Huge. The rooms have no nos, but names. We stayed at " Masrur " and " Kangra Fort ". All rooms are made of natural elements like mud, stone etc. I absolutely loved walking bare foot in our room, over the stone floor. It felt better than any carpet covered area. There is no Television and frankly you won't regret that. Wifi speed is good. Bathrooms are huge. Have all modern amenities. Water pressure is comfortable. Need some time for the solar panel to hit your water, warm though. Rooms are nicely decorated. They use copper vessels. Rooms get good natural light and the sound of the rivulet and the birds are something you can't miss. All clean linens provided and you are definitely going to get a good night sleep. 5 / 5 for Room. Food: In one word - Delicious. Take your Breakfasts in the Lounge area. We got different dishes at Dinner for the 2 nights we stayed. Don't miss the " Daal " though. Mr. and Mrs Thakur are really gr8 hosts and always ready to help. It's better to carry your own liquor at this remote area, but even if you forget, plz ask for the same to Mr. Thakur and if he have the stock, he will be happy to help you with. The " Adda " at the Roof top or the lounge with a glasses and the sound of the rivulet below a sky full of stars, will be some cherished memories to take. 5 / 5 for Food. Service: Unparalleled. Absolutely top notch. Mr and Mrs Thakur will take care of all your needs. From the time of booking to the last date of our departure, no complains in any area. 5 / 5 for Service Cleanliness: No Complains. 5 / 5 for Cleanliness. Value: Absolutely worth every penny. 5 / 5 for Value. P. S: Don't miss the walk in the woods at evening. The sun set from the hill on the back of the resort is absolutely stunning.
As close to nature as possible
Except for the climb down the hillside there's no issue at all with the resort. It's perfect in every way. The view stunning! The service of the staff outstanding. The owner is so very involved with the running of the resort. He takes personal care. Bonfire by the forest_- out of this world. If you like offbeat close to nature resorts with 5 star service, you must visit this place. You will yearn to come back again.
Calm and blissful!!
First of all a big thank you to kishore ji for making our stay a memorable one. Super hosts.. Amazing hospitality.. Yumilicious freshly cooked food.. N the setting of the property... Wow.. Full marks.. Prakriti Aalay is a very pleasant place to get away from the city life. The property gives you a rustic feel and is very peaceful. The view of the snow clad mountains is just picture perfect and not to forget the soothing sound of the stream flowing by. Don't forget to dip your feet in this glacial water, it so relaxing. My kids had an amazing time. Only drawback... U have to climb down a little slope to reach the property.. Which could be a hassle for senior citizens... Apart from this a perfect stay!!
Couldn't have found a better place even if i searched for it!
I had been searching for a property which is about 8-9 hrs from Delhi which could help me relax and rejuvenate. I found 2 properties, which turned out to have the same management: Prakriti Aalay and Camp Lungta. Finally zeroed in on Prakriti Aalay and made the booking. Little did i know that while making the booking it would be one of the best trips I've had in my recent times. The property is picturesque to another level. With clear view of snow clad mountains and a river running right through the project, the property is breathtaking in every sense of the word. But a property is only as good as the service and kudos to the management and team at Prakriti Aalay, we were treated like royalty. Kishore and his team are exceptionally good at taking care of you. Would definitely recommend a trek along the river bed or through the forest. The bon fires are a great place to sit and stare at the stars and disconnect from everything. Kishore has exceptional knowledge of the neighboring places and can guide you well w. r. t things to do. However, I believe you can stay in the resort for 2 days without even having the need to step out.

If visiting Dharamshala... one must stay at Prakriti Aalay!! I went there with my family for 2 days and had a quality time with them. It was all together an awesome experience staying in there. An eco friendly property which is very well designed by Mud walls, Bamboos, Slate roofs with solar power facilities which adds to its beauty and calmness. Feels like that you are living in the lap of nature... Beautiful forest in the backdrop and fresh water stream flowing by the side with view of Himalayas... Best place to rejuvenate yourself. Worth staying for nature lovers and for those who seek peace. We enjoyed every bit moment spent in there. As we have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Prakriti Aalay would say that go there and feel it all by your own self and do enjoy in fresh and cold stream of water passing by with view of Himalayas straight up. We had bonfire session too for both the nights with lots of chitchat and amazing company of Mr. Kishore... It was our wedding anniversary and the staff arranged cake for us and decorated the dining hall with balloons which was lovely further followed by homely made food... yummy... Hospitality, food, people all are excellent. Thanks Mr. Kishore... your place is amazing... thanks for giving us close to nature and homely feeling... we all had a great time and will definitely visit again.
Great place with a amazing views
It has amazing views and lots of places for taking pictures. Views around early morning and during sunset is beautiful. Food was amazing. Staff were very helpful. I stayed only for a day. Wish could have stayed a bit more.

Par excellence
This is one of the best resorts i have been too.. its new and still expanding but what we experienced was a memory to cherish for a lifetime... The resort is beautifully setup away from all the hustle.. it comprises of spacious clean mud rooms which are setup keeping in mind all the little details.. The added advantage to the resort is the lovely stream that passes by next to it. The service is top notch.. the staff is super friendly and very courteous.. both the chilly nights we stayed here, we were treated with bonfire and our beds were warmed by the electric quilts.. The food is also very good, they serve excellent dishes just homestyle. It was my wife's birthday and the staff arranged a cake and decorated the dining hall with balloons and candles.. touched heart.. thats the kind of service one seeks for.. The resort has a amazing view all around.. its next to a forest where one can go for a little nature hike too.. Thanks Mr. Thakur.. your resort is amazing and i simply loved it.. my family had a great time and will definitely visit again.
A really chilled out place for staying in Dharamshala
A really chilled out place for staying in Dharamshala - 'Prakriti Aalay'. In English the name translates to Nature's Home. Not ideal for backpackers, but perfect otherwise. One has to walk down for 5 minutes through a small trail, cross the rice fields and the river to reach here. The constant sound of the river in this place feels therapeutic. There is a 10-15mins hike through the forest, behind the resort which has a lot of pine trees. Perfect and safe to spend time in the woods overlooking the river. The sustainable and eco-friendly architecture and design of the place is also well thought to complement the surroundings.
Nestled between a range of mountains, woods, and a stream, truly a " back-to-nature " experience
We got out of the car and were greeted by an expanse of green. With our 2 year toddler on piggy back, we climbed down the rocky path, walked across a field, crossed a bridge over a little stream, and 5 minutes later (was it really just 5 minutes) stood at the reception. The approach lends a sense of adventure to the process of arriving, though the true " heavy-lifting " is undertaken by the willing staff. The rooms are clean, staff accommodating, and the owners-considerate hosts. We enjoyed a midnight walk in the woods, star gazing, and daily baths in the stream. A lovely get away with friends and family.

We explored the location titled- 'Prakriti Aalya' at Dharamshala (Himachal Pradesh).. And it is the combination of excitement and real sense placate location. It is the wonderful and the unique experience staying at 'Prakriti Aalya " Property foundation was set up by very adoring personality and prior to work with Prakriti Aalya his last job assignment was as a Director in one of the Multi National Companies. He has been dedicatedly working hard for the amazing ventures to make the happiness and excitement to affectionate the tourists. The locations is structure is made up of 8 numbers of mud structured type rooms with royal dining space. We visited last year one same kind of property Muktshwar side which is also supervised by one of the Army type active person aged around 55 years old, that man was little bit arrogant and was seeming that he more please to welcome only Industrialist -Writers and Scientists sort of tourist customers. But the owner of this property is very cool guy Surrounding environment was pleasant and amazing, the said location is being supervised and monitored by the Retired DSP who is father of the Property owner namely Mr Kishore and his family belongs to Delhi. We fortunately met mother of Mr Kishore with that day and we experienced that preparation was like homely made food as there was an old lady who was courteous energetic and was preparing Chatni for us to serve us at the time of serving the food. The spouse of Mr Kishore from Delhi was also present that in property & she visited each and every room to pay personal attention and monitoring the checks and caring us during stay tenure at the said location. " The most amazing moment was that there was One Kilometer path from main road which was little bit disturbed and dig up due to rainy seasons. To evade such difficult circumstance the owner of property was so optimistic and he offered us Safari to feel us comfortable offering us his personal open Gypsy. Later stage just before 100 meters away from the Resort location our Gypsy got stuck in-between mud approximately for 5-7 minutes - Again all very cooperative staff members of Mr. Kishore reached within very minute's duration to provide us the instant help and support. WE ALSO GOT EXTENDED AMAZING SUPPORT BY THE DIVINE LABORIOUS LADY WEARING FULL OF ETHENIC GOLD JEWELLERY - LATER WE CAME TO KNOW THAT SHE WAS MOTHER OF PROPERTY OWNER WHO USED " PHAABRA IN HER HANDS " TO HELP AND SUPPORT US PUTTING HER FULL OF ENERGY AKIN TO YOUTH. EVEN THE OWNERS TEAM BELONGS TO HIGH PROFILE FAMILY BACKGROUND AS HE HAS GENEROUSLY SPENT THE ENOUGH FUNDS ON THIS VENTURE. The owner Mr. Kishore -is so cooperative and his core approached is not at all towards achieving funds. The Resort is surrounded by one side beautiful River & another side Safe beautiful scene of Lush Green forest He guided new place to our Family Group " Bir Billing " (Google it -it's a second best place for Safest World class Paragliding and also he guides us for far better Monestry then Maclod Ganz and the new place " Barot " near by " Bir Billing " which is full of pretty beauty. The staff of this property was very cooperative and food was delicious and tasteful. We had bath into the river which gives a feelings of personal river bank and pictures clicked by us are really amazing as the Property Interior Designer has been designed by the by the prominent Foreign Architect which gives the feel of international standard. A planning may be planned to stay on this location at least for a period of two-three days to experience the natural environment in a very conformable atmosphere. We strongly recommend that after staying on this Property at least for 2-3 days an individual or group of people would surely visit the location to have fun at individual and family level. Serene and secluded
We stayed at this place for a day. The property is brand new. The location is mesmerizing. A brook flows right in front of the room we stayed in, with a forest right behind. A pleasant relief from the crowded commercialized locales. The couple who owns the place is warm and welcoming. The food is also homely. We had been there for our anniversary and they graciously surprised us with a cake. They have lounge areas for small parties and a cosy library for quiet reading. Keeping your lights on at night attracts insects, some of which are not exactly tiny. Be careful about that. You are in the jungle, after all. You will need to walk a little from the road to the location to cross the brook. They send a person to carry your luggage from your vehicle. A must visit destination for those who seek peace. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Prakriti Aalay
Awesome place to stay with family!!
It was all together different & awesome experience living in Prakriti Aalaya. Hospitality was paramount. An eco friendly and 100% green building, mud walls, slate roofs, solar powered, rooms are big with king size beds, close to nature, forest in the backdrop, himalayas at front and river flowing by the side, homely food.... what else do you need? It was like paradise... Visiting Dharamshala... must stay at Prakriti Aalaya!!
A 5 star property - untouched and serene
Backdrop - A corporate honcho got sick and tired of his daily rush and decided to go back to his roots.. Mr Thakur thus have created a 5 star facility in the midst of green and blue jungle which once it will reach its peak efficiency will be the best in the area Pros: - Lovely roverside location.. we all family members had a lovely time dipping in the purest water from himalayas - Pine forest around makes the morning evening strolls like never before - Awesome green building, lovely spacious rooms, veryyyy well maintained Cons: cons are all temporary hurdles to this new property - The existing terrain to reach the property which is down the hill through stone stairs, a field and through a temporary bridge over the rivulet is an adventure in itself but tedious to excel more than once a day.. adding rains it can be hazardous Not 5 but 4 stars only for this reason. - Food.. 7-8K is a decent amount for himachal stays.. a bit of variety in breakfast and meals can do magic to its popularity I have no doubt that the owners are already preparing fr it All in all a place where a couple or a family can spend a day or two just being being their and enjoying nature and a place worth each penny spent on it by travellers.
