About White House Beach Resort
A family-run beach resort, White House Beach Resort was built by Leonard & Nenette Tirol in the early 90s, as a family beach house to enjoy with the family and where they could entertain friends. Built on the site of the Tirol family's ancestral beach home, the Tirol family laid the foundations of what is today, the most prime portion of Boracay island (Station 1).

Worth your money ❤
White House Beach is the perfect epitomy of paradise at your utmost comfort. I had many things to say about this establishment that surely most guest can agree. Of course, there's no perfect hotel and they are not excused to this. So i will list down what I liked and did not like about them: 1. It's located by the road. So, if you prefer to DIY, it is easy to access the hotel. 2. They gave us complimentary drinks. This is a plus for me because I have never experienced that. It's heart-warming. 3. We stayed at the first floor (Deluxe). The room was wide! It has all the amenities like water, coffee. It also has a mini ref. It has 32-inch tv, and a spacious bathroom (shower) with a blower. 4. Our room was just, like, 50 steps away from the white sand beach. So it's PERFECT. You can literally walk a short distance and feel the powdery white sand and blue crystal waters. 5. The staff was the FRIENDLIEST. I didn't get the chance to know the Front Offices' name but they we both awesome and made our stay so much easier. Even the housekeepers and other staff was so kind to greet us every time we passed by. I hope they get a good pay for being this nice lol. 6. We had a complimentary van transfer! Wooohooo!! Highlight of the event!!! Made me cry to actually felt like royalty. Things I did not like: 1. Dated rooms. I wish they would upgrade the interiors of the room. There we like rusts on the walls, which was not obvious if you're far but it's pretty visible up close. 2. Small swimming pool. I'm personally an introvert so seeing people pass by literally every 20 seconds makes me anxious and just opt to swim at the beach. I hope this one helps people who are undecided to book this fantastic resort. This might be $$$ (in my budget) but its definitely worth it. :) I love coming back here.
Not friendly for those who are not booked at their hotel
There was a staff who was very rude! Though we were booked at this hotel I asked if me and my friends could hang out and chill and of course we would order. We were told the place where we wanted to hang out was closed. I said ok no problem, but suddenly I saw a couple who sat in the place where we wanted to stay. But…. I thought they were closed. Never again.
Never staying here again
The only reason why I am giving this 2 stars is because of the staff's great service & great food! Rooms need a major upgrade, bathrooms need major renovation! Family room on the 4th floor is disgusting. They dont even turn on the lights in the hallway, it was so dark we couldnt see anything!
Отель White House beach resort
This is just how I like it
In the many occasions I have gone to Boracay I have chosen to stay in White House 80% of the time. From the time it was just the " White House " until the family decided to expand into what it has become now. White House's location is in the best part of the island. You can just stay in its beachfront and you don't need to go anywhere else to enjoy the sand, the sea and the famous Boracay sunset. It is a very casual resort, no frills, value for money facilities and very good service and this is just how I like my beach resort. The staff are very accommodating and pleasant. The recent addition to the Resort's attraction is its restaurant Indios Bravos offering excellent English Pub food.
Buono lo stabilimento con lettini
Non ho soggiornato in questo resort ma, ma ho usufruito solo del servizio lettini da mare e ristorante. Posto gradevole e prezzi bassi. Bella anche la musica con il dj. Uno dei pochi posti dove affittano lettini.
love the room
the road to this hotel is a mess.. you need a massage soon as you get there from the bumpy road.. but soon as you get into your room.. oh my.. such a beautiful room clean an very comfortable / check-in was very easy.. same as check-out, the staff was more than friendly an the beers excellent an colds as below 0. the craft beers pub food was hit an miss... no oysters for my 3 days.. such a shame. i will definately be back. you guys made my birthday awesome.. i came as 1 an left with many new friends... thank you
Very Relaxing Stay
Location is great! Beachfront view while eating our breakfast is the best! Staff are all accomodating and helpful. Pool / Jacuzzi are always clean. Food is good but a bit pricey. Overall, we will likely stay here again next time we visit Boracay.
Simply ❤ White House
For the past times I've visited Boracay, White House has always been my first choice for a place to stay. Aside from its strategic location in Station 1 (where the sand is whiter and the vibe is more quiet), its cozy and friendly feel has been a top consideration. When Boracay reopened this October 2018, I loved White House even more for the following reasons: *refurbished rooms &facilities; *though less in number, they've kept the lounge chairs by the sand; *blue pool at night; *they serve grilled chori burger, isaw, barbecue, hotdog, etc. from mid-afternoon to sundown; *they play a good selection of songs from afternoon until around 10pm, which makes hanging out by the pool very inviting. Of course, the ever accommodating and friendly staff has always been a bonus here. Special mention to Kuya Ding, who's been our waiter, butler, bar tender, etc. I always look forward to going back to White House. In fact, I've already booked my next visit in 2019 😉. By the way, I highly recommend the Family Room by the pool side. It has generous space and lounge areas, more amenities, and easy access to the pool and beach.
Love the ocean view from the terrace
I stayed at the family suite with the ocean view terrace. The terrace is larger than I expected. The resort has all what we need, suite with ocean-view terrace and large room for family of 4, the ocean is just right across the resort, swimming pool and decent breakfast. The staff are very nice and friendly. The surrounding areas is quiet and feels private, which we liked. There was an event in one of the evenings, but didn't bother us as we enjoyed the sounds while we're having drinks at the terrace. I'll stay here again and make sure to book the family suite.
A must-stay beach resort
Definite recommendation for those who are planning to stay in Boracay. It's not like the other hotels that have key cards, but it surely does provide enough for guests, as well as having a drink in the minibar, swimming in the pool, and relaxing on the beach.
Nice clean quiet
Our family had a great time at the white house beach resort. The reception was great, the staff very friendly and accommodating. We were a family of four so we were given a room with 2 double decker. I think this was because the other rooms were already filled. It would have been a more family oriented room if there was a double bed and the bunk bed. (to accommodate the parents and the kids could stay in the bunk. They were very excited with this. We were given welcome drinks made from lemon and a special fruit (mangosteen?} tea? It was very good. Breakfast was a small buffet. Beach and sunsets were breathtaking. I think among all things, we truly appreciated the staff.
Good music for sundowners
Nice little " beach club " don't expect much in Boracay but fir what there is this was good. DJ played some decent tunes and the sunset is frankly second to none. Had a few for happy hour but it's the sunset not the booze that will mesmerise you. Beautiful just beautiful.
Thankful for room upgrade with no extra charge and complimentary transfer
Actually, it was last year when I booked thru Agoda (a good deal under book now pay later) a Standard Room accommodation at White House Beach Resort, a beachfront hotel located in Station 1, Boracay. Their Standard Room is the cheapest and located across the street, definitely non beachfront but near the pool and beach area, just a few walks away. Luckily, we were upgraded (I mean with no extra charge) to Deluxe Room (Yes!) which is located at the side of the beachfront building. Thank you White House Boracay! Another to be thankful for is we were given a complimentary transfer from hotel to Boracay port for our departure. Since our departure time was so early, before the complimentary breakfast serving time, we were given packed sandwiches as takeout instead.
Paradise
No place is perfect, but this resort came pretty close. The beach is wide with very fine white sand, and the ocean is crystal clear and shallow. There are beach chairs on the sand and plenty of lounging sofas near the pool. Service is prompt and friendly and having happy hour all day was a bonus.. loved the margaritas and buckets of beer. Every evening a small barbecue would take place on the sand, and the food was delicious and inexpensive, try the chorizo sliders. Breakfasts were very good, and served in the dining room or at the beach. The beach is never busy here and far better than station two which is only a 15 mins walk along the beach. There is also a very pretty walk along the beach in the opposite direction. We were upgraded to a deluxe room, and it was large and had a lovely balcony. Wifi is available but spotty everywhere in the Philippines. All in all I would highly recommend this resort.
The Presidential Treatment
Room 4 / 5 - could use some updating. Bed was quite soft and I kept sinking into the bed. Hot water and pressure was good and had all the necessities. Food 4 / 5 - the complimentary breakfast was average and there are not many options available, however lunch was surprisingly good - we ordered the buffalo wings and Kim Chi Fried Rice which were both tasty. Great outdoor dining area on the beach. Customer Service 5 / 5 - all the staff were very lovely and welcoming, particularly Reception who attended to our requests very quickly. Location 5 / 5 - great quiet spot in Station 1 where you can swim in peace, without being trampled by hundreds of tourists. Only 15-20 minute stroll to D*mall and perfect for sunsets.
Great Stay!
White House Beach Resort is a good place to stay. The place is in the beach front. We were able to get a room upgrade from a standard to a de luxe room. They serve ala cart breakfast. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I would definite be back at the this hotel.
Pricey
Rooms are old, some furnitures are not updated. The table in our room broke while we were using it. Breakfast is plated, very few options Goid side is Staff are friendly, drinks and cocktails are good 👍
Bad experience
Its our first time to visit boracay and We stayed with my 2 kids here last feb 12-14 and their room has so many mosquitoes and broken faucet. The worst part is my 7yo son got dengue. Beware of this hotel. Sliding door lock also broken.
Not hugely impressed
I stayed at the White House Beach Resort with three friends at the end of a backpacking trip in the Philippines. The staff are all lovely, welcoming and helpful and we were pleasantly surprised to find out we had been upgraded to a Deluxe room at no extra charge, thanks again. The room was spacious and clean although not very modern. We had booked a four bed room, but found one bed missing on arrival. A fourth mattress was laid on the floor, which was a little disappointing. The bathroom includes amenities such as soap, shampoo, shower gel, toothbrush etc. The beach front is beautiful and just a 10 minute walk to the main restaurants and bars (D-Mall etc.). Sun-beds and beach towels available. The breakfast is very average with very little choice and no continental option. There is a surcharge for poached eggs which we were surprised to find out. The hotel wanted to charge us for a broken water glass which was allegedly borrowed from an external company. Initially reluctant, the F & B manager did accept it was an accident and we did not have to pay for it in the end, however it's disappointing we had to fight for it! The wifi is slow (not available in rooms!) and the connection unreliable apart from in the reception area. Our luggage was kept at reception on our departure day, as we did not leave until late afternoon, which was convenient, as we wanted to make the most of our last day on the beach. A free mini van transfer to the port is available. I would probably consider staying at another hotel on a future visit to Boracay.
best hotel
stayed here bec of a friends wedding last Dec 2018, was surprised to know they have free airport transfers the moment you arrived and depart, I do think no other hotel offers this, you could save 1400 each person. They have big rooms and no mosquitoes. They are also generous with replenishment of bottled water and tissue. Overall, I enjoyed my stay here, I promoted this hotel to my network of friends. Will definitely choose this every year I visit Boracay. Though they have poor wifi connection.
位置好
位置很好出门就是白沙滩, 酒店的设施简单了些, 还算干净, 服务可以, 白沙滩真是美极了!尤其是早晨退潮后的白沙滩, 简直美如画~
Great Hotel for Family with lots of kids
The hotel is very nice, service is very good, great location, the pool the rooms are big and comfortable. really good place, only comment is that has a lot of family with a lots of kids, so I recommend the place for families, because the rooms are so big I guess they allow family to stay all in one room. The bar with ocean view plays great music and the food is very good. Wi fi only works on the Lobby to not too convenient for Foreigners
Free upgrade and very clean room
We booked via booking.com and upon arrival we paid for another person and the receptionist not only gave us a discount, she also upgraded our room. Service was great and the room was actually really big, it was also very clean and when we got to our rooms, the aircon was already turned on and was very cold. We also had a TV with good reception so we were able to watch the AdMU vs DLSU basketball game while our cousins who stayed in another hotel couldn't get nay reception. At night, the receptionist allowed us to leave our keys and other stuff with them so we wouldn't have to carry it around. They also gave us a discount for eating at the hotel and was very apologetic for the repairs in the pool area (which we didn't mind at all).
Most of the staff was nice, but overall our stay was below our expectations
Cannot say we got value for our money for the 2 rooms we got. Contrary to what was written on their website, the pool was still under renovation. Our whole stay, construction workers were working on it. Also, there was no wi-if except for certain areas downstairs, again, contrary to what was published. On our last day, we asked for the standard replenishment of complimentary water but they said we were already checking out at noon so they will not provide (even if we still had the free breakfast counted as our last day). The restaurant staff was great though. Location was great. But our family will not be booking here again.
Value for money
Can't ask for more. Paid $30 for an overnight stay and it was a pleasant stay. Appreciation of the location depends on personal preferences. This place is located in a bit far end side of station 1. It's peaceful here compared to station 2 area. Customer service is great. They provided complimentary shuttle service from Cagban port to hotel. Room is spacious. Breakfast is plated but with enough serving. It was great overall.
A Little Disappointing
This is the third time I booked a stay at White House and this was the most disappointing so far. We got a room near the main road so there's a lot of traffic noise. Our hot water shower didn't work properly. It was either too hot or not at all. The toilet backed up on one instance. On a positive note, the location is great if you want some peace and quiet away from the large crowds at Station 2. The staff were very friendly and polite. Overall I'd say it was OK. They could use a little more frequent maintenance checks though.
Borasome!
First time to stay in White House, since I have heard a lot of good things about this place and a lot personalities keep on staying here. So I tried it, and I'm glad I stayed here. When I arrived, staff was very welcoming and friendly, they allowed me to do an early check in without asking them, our rooms was upgraded to deluxe and I'm very thankful for that. A bit disappointed when they told me that WIFI is not available due to maintenance, but I think it went just fine when me and my friends get to talk more about everything. Room was bit old, but it doesn't matter since the location was really really awesome. Food, happy hour and the service was fantastic especially Pato (not sure with the spelling), he's very attentive and nice though we are getting rowdy. Guys at the entrance were very helpful also. Definitely will be coming back here.
Sad standard rooms
I have mixed emotions with this hotel. The beachfront is I think the best among the whole stretch. I especially liked the chairs and beach mats provided by the hotel for its clients. The hotel is in station 1 at the relatively quiet portion of bora quite far from the mall and restaurants. When we checked in our expectations were high from seeing the doors of the room near the reception but since we booked the standard room we were put in an old room across the street where all their vehicles are parked. The room itself was clean but run down. The pipes under the sink was just covered with a cloth. The ac was almost broken, the quality of the shelves were poor. We were disappointed and felt mistreated. After mulling over why we booked the standard room we just decided to enjoy the beachfront which is what we really paid for I think. We recovered from the heartbreak but upon checkout we were informed that we should pay 500 pesos for the drinks we ordered in their restaurant. Our drinks were only 270 pesos in total because we only ordered fruitshake but the reception insisted that the minimum order is 500 pesos. The waiter did not inform us of this at that time we were ordering and consuming our drinks. We would have gladly ordered more food / drinks if we knew there was a minimum order. The remaining 230 pesos to pay wasnt a lot but because of the heartbreak this hotel has caused us we insisted we do not want to pay because the waiter didnt inform us of this minimum. Good thing though they have a free shuttle going to the jetty port because all we wanted then was a smooth trip home. I hope this hotel would renovate their standard rooms soon and also improve on their customer service.
Could be a lot better
Location - freakingly awesome Reservation staff - great Rooms - decent BUT, some of the minor details make the difference and sometimes I feel like I'm in a cheap establishment They wouldn't serve service water at the beachfront even if you order food from them. The toiletries are bad and smelled cheap. The beach staff attendants are not pleasant and at times rude. Breakfast and food can be lousy sometimes, I was for example served poorly baked bread I can hardly chew. They're not reasonable when it comes to check out and will force you out of the room even if the resort is not even half-filled. I love this resort actually. All these are meant to encourage improvements.
Feels Like Home
The promise of one of the most beautiful white sand beaches attracts you to Boracay. The White House Beach Resort is what brings you back. Located in the quieter Station 1 area, the White House is perfect to enjoy the tranquil baby blue waters and the baby-powder white sand that Boracay is known for. The beauty is in the location as it is only a short stroll along the beach to the noisier, more congested Station 2 area. The White House Resort may not be as large or as new as some of the other resorts in the Station 1 area, but that does not mean its lacking. It means you get a better, more personal experience. The customer service and staff attentiveness is spot on. They ensure you are taken care of, they follow up to make sure you have everything you need and if there is anything else you want. They're not intrusive though in your space, they seem to know exactly when to approach you and when to leave you to your " chillaxation ". We stayed in the Super Deluxe Sea View Room. It was on the second floor just above the bar, with a queen bed, a private veranda overlooking the pool just below and the beach. The location was perfect. Imagine waking up every morning to fresh brewed coffee, a beautiful view of the ocean on your own private veranda, just steps from our bedroom. It's perfect to take in the stunning views or even get a little bit of work in before everyone wakes up and the day's activities take over. If you're wondering about their food, their in-house restaurant is the Station Juan Café. I'll be honest, I went inside and looked at it and it was what you would expect. However, when I found out we can get their food served to us on the beach, say no more- we never left the beach. What was UNEXPECTED was how good the food was. It was truly great beach comfort food elevated to something we did not expect at all. Everything we tried- we liked. The best appetizer by far was their truffle French fries. We got those as an afterthought on our first day, just something to eat along with those great local San Miguel beers. However, when we tried them, my wife and I looked at each other completely surprised with the unexpected. From there, we tried the sliders, the spicy shrimp (gambas), the bbq- everything we tried always came to us fresh, hot, delicious. The food was definitely a highlight. We loved the ambiance of the White House, with its beach house atmosphere. Lounge recliners along the beach were comfortable to lie on and relax. A deck just behind the sand contained lounge-like furniture, décor and atmosphere that gave a friendly, inviting experience. We've been to many beach resorts from Cancun to Cabo to Barbados to the Bahamas and points in between, but this remains my favorite and now its my wife's favorite (her first time here) beach and resort. We felt welcomed and at home at the White House- and we can't wait to go back " home. "
Nice family bonding
We booked four rooms in this resort for three nights from May 16-19, 2017. It was a great resort for family bonding for their rooms are big and the location is very good. Our breakfast were served at the beachfront. We enjoyed the view! Also, the staff are very accommodating, courteous and helpful. Highly recommended.
Really Meh..
Will keep this short: The beach front is very good and they make an effort with service. However hotel itself is quite old and bad. No lift, no pressure in the showers, and extremely dated rooms... bed is springy and not really comfortable...
New Year eve 2017
great place to celebrate new years eve. dinner, music, dancing and fireworks on the beach. lots of entertainments along the beach. swimming, paddle board surfing, sunset watching without leaving the hotel grounds.
Not the best resort but service is excellent
Booked a 4 night stay at White House Beach Resort for the standard room and was allocated a room across the street. The room was located beside a parking area for the beach vehicles and motorcycle and the curtain should have been more opaque as there were people walking around. The room was not at its best as the floor looks dirty, toilet looks a little run down and old. The wifi for our room went down on our last night and was not fixed after we had checked out the next afternoon. However, what I am happy was the low price I had paid, the service was excellent and the staff were friendly and they greeted me every time I walked pass them. The security at the gate also went the extra mile and stop the traffic to help me get across the street. There were also many tv channels to watch and the breakfast is really nice. There was also a complimentary van ride to Boracay port on the day of my checkout.
nice place
quiet place I can do my work without any disturbance. Staffs are very accommodating and friendly. I gonna surely going back soon, a little expensive but worth it. I can surely recommend to others. Hopefully internet be more fast so that the guest can read news, anytime or do surf.
Home in Boracay
Took a weekend to unwind here, luckily there was no event. A lot of people might say that the rooms are old / aged or what not. Its not as modern as some of the hotels around the area but that's the thing, THINK Beach House... I don't know about the next person but I wouldn't want to feel like I am in the city or in a condo unit while being in one of the best beaches ever and that's the charm of White House. Still have the best happy hour, 7am-7pm! Menu has expanded a bit but the safe staples are still there. Service has always been very good and handled well. Just 1 negative on the service here... the puka necklace along with the key snapped off and I was charged PHP.150 for it... perhaps best to refrain from putting things that can easily get broken and having the guests pay for... didn't want to argue with the front desk lady who was just doing her job, (small price to pay for the service they gave anyway) All in all, if you want to come for a party, check their website for the schedules, if you want a quiet stay, do the same. I've never been disappointed with White House, been coming to Boracay since 91 and this place just keeps me remembering how it ought to be. Thanks guys, see you real soon!
Towel Scam
Honestly, the rating became terrible while checking out.... Great location.... Beachfront and all... Small pool, old rooms.... Food not bad.... We had three rooms.... Our friend while checking out was charged Php 2100 for 3 towels... Cmon now... Old / worn out towels cannot cost $40.... We requested if we can go and buy New Towels as replacement.... The response was... Leave all your luggage till you return with the towels... Unbelievable... They better change their customer service standards or they won't get returning customers...
It's all worth it :)
The beachfront location of this hotel in station 1 has the perfect spot for the marvelous sunset of the island. The staff are very accommodating, honest and friendly. Rooms are clean and well-maintained. And one of the best part of our stay is their happy hour from 7 am to 7 pm. Cocktails are served at really affordable prices! Overall, the stay in this place is worth every penny. I'll definitely recommend this to my friends :)
Recommended
Perfect location since it's in the quieter area of the beach. Value-for-money rates. Excellent service and very friendly staff. Very accessible rooms. Kid-friendly, too. We had a pleasant stay overall.
Good, As Usual
Accommodations: - Booked 3 rooms. All were clean, they even waived extra person charge in 1 of our rooms. Although in room 101, the bathroom drainage smelled. And it leaked into our room. Booking: - I booked by contacting them directly. I had a little bit of difficulty cause they did not reply right away to my emails. When I called them, I found out that the person I was talking to went on leave and she did not endorse us to anyone else so we had to repeat the process. Also, they have a payment option through PayPal, and they were not upfront about the extra charge for PayPal payments. Lastly, it took them quite some time to confirm our airport transfers even after we paid the down payment. Stay: Over all, our stay in whitehouse was very pleasant. Even though we went through quite a bit of a hassle in booking through them, their service when we arrived in Kalibo airport until we had to go back to Manila 3 days after, was perfect. All their cocktails are very good, even their 3 + 1 San Miguel light beer promo hehe will surely go back and stay with them again =)
One of the greatest !
White house Beach Resort is one of few resorts that is clean spacious and has amazing service. But most of all their beachfront view in sunset is really mesmerizing and relaxes your mind. Staff are accommodating and really friendly. Totally gonna comeback at White House Beach Resort
Wonderful stay
perfect location. Beachfront with comfortable lounging chairs. Very clean rooms. Service excellent. Staff friendly and accommodating. Food was like home cooked. Enjoyed their happy hour watching the sunset.
Excellent!
Cmfortable to stay with.. nice! Staffs are accommodating... thanks a lot! 😍 Just add a hair dryer... the rest is complete.. foods are great! Very accessible to the beach...😀 You will enjoy staying here guys...
A reason to go back to Boracay
This was our first time in Boracay. Whitehose hotel is the perfect place to be while in the island. The rooms are clean and spacious. The staff are great. Food is good. Our room is very near the bar where the parties and functions are being held and yet you can have a good night sleep notwithstanding the music being played while the party is going on. The best of it all this hotel sits in the best beach front in station 1. I strolled the whole station and from what I saw.. whitehouse has best beach front. We are definitely coming back..
Great Place
It was our first time to visit Boracay and so did not know what to expect with our accommodations, etc. The White House Beach Resort exceeding our expectations, most especially the friendly staff, room cleanliness, and the delicious food. The place was a perfect chose for us since we wanted to just hang out at beach where it's nice and quiet. All of us treated ourselves to massages from the friendliest massage therapists! Great place to stay!!
execellent service
as working in a well known resorts and casino in manila. they have an excellent service, friendly staffs, clean and spacious room. breakfast is also good. will definitely stay here again when i go back to boracay.
Quite Place
Stayed here for 4 nights with my college friends and classmates. Pros Location - far from station 2 where all the night activities are Quality of sleep - very good. Beds are comfortable, no bedbugs and rooms are clean. You can't hear anything from outside once you close your door. View - Awesome!!! Wake up @ 7am always and hardly anybody at the beach. It's a beachfront by the way Food - Very good. Especially their breakfast (it's free) that came with brewed coffee. And you can have it in the beachfront. Cleanliness - Very clean, the pool is crystal clean. Rooms, washrooms, surroundings. Haven't have any mosquito bites. Service - Very good. Wifi is quite " not good " but i really don't mind. I came in for my friends and the beach. They also provide basic toiletries (shampoo and soap) which eliminates from buying the annoying " sachets ". All in all, i like the place. Why 4 stars only? Because I'm not sure how eco-friendly they are. I don't like that they provide water bottles to the guests. My suggestion is, and i hope the management will take it into consideration: provide a refillable water to minimize plastics. I always travel with a water bottle and always am proud of it. I might come back next year with my entire family (a village???) and i'm looking forward to fill my water bottle. By the way, there's a stand up paddles for rent next to this resort.
February Vacation 2017
White House Beach Resort is by far the most reasonable, if not affordable, place to stay in boracay, philippines if you want to unplug, relax, and unwind from Urban Life. Our Deluxe Room is HUGE! you can fit 6-8pax easy, not to mention the EXTRA Veranda. Realistic necessities are available, like clothes hanger, lounge chair and table at the veranda, coffee table inside the room, refrigerator, mirror, big closet, and big toilet. Staff are friendly and very accommodating. They are also prompt and easy to talk to. Food is superb and the taste is comparable to International dishes. Safety is a standard, why? coz when they heard that i got burned by riding a commuter motorcycle, and they hurriedly provided the first aid materials. need to upgrade on internet though as it is slower and could be annoying at some point. the Beachfront is soooo relaxing and you could just lounge there and still be safe if you want to leave your things. We left our gadgets at the lounge and their security personnel are soo keen on the guests and passers-by. Will surely stay here again.
Amazing!
The room had A LOT of space. The food tastes sooo good. Easy access to the beautiful white beach of Boracay. The owner is super friendly and the staff are well-trained and very accommodating. Also near a lot of restaurants. The white house beach lounge is the best place to chill at night. Plus, we left ALL our gadgets in the room, the housekeeping staff didn't touch it at all.
Best Hotel in Boracay for you to relax
Amazing Hotel, Staff were very accommodating and friendly, Experience the best experience to relax while lying on the crystallized sand of the beach, They also offer very good food at very affordable price.
Great Beachfront Resort
Great place to stay in Boracay. It is in station 1 so it's quieter at night. The beach bar / lounge is great, always playing good music. The view is beautiful, especially at sunset when the sun sets over the water. They have happy hour from 7am-7pm which means 100 peso cocktails. The wi-fi is decent and the rooms are clean. Showers have good pressure and hot water. Station one is about a 10 min walk along the beach. Would recommend White House if you are with family.
Really nice beach bar
Beach bar is really nice, they have lots of beach chairs and tables, you dont need to pay anu extra on those when you order drinks and food. They have good drinks and good. Also have nice happy hour drinks, example Mojito is good! Excelent location, service & staff, drinks & food.
Best Family Resort!
Looking for a family resort in Boracay? Go for White House Beach Resort! Friendly and lovely staffs! Enjoyed the pool and you can just order a drink while swimming, tried their spicy chicken wings and the best in the Philippines. Just few steps and you can also enjoy swimming at the beachfront. Cozy place to rest and relax!
This is boracay for me! Thank you White House!
Had a great time staying here, the beach was great and the place is not expensive comparing to the hotels beside it (sur, discovery, seawind etc.), they really give you more bang to your buck. And because of this, i had extra money to try all their food! Amazingly, not surprised, their food was one of the best! Better than the high end hotels beside it. The beach house that we stayed in was perfect! Beds are comparable to shangrila. I appreciate those little pillows to support your back and head so falling asleep was easy and waking up fully recharged. Food serving was big-a lot! enough for two people, its manila price but not a rip off! The staff are very funny and very accomodating! I love them! I hope to be back... Sigh i hope its soon! Thanks white house! I miss boracay...
very good
there were a balance of pros and cons with this resort. location - pros: beach front in station 1. i guess the best sand in the island can be found in this station. you can literally dip into the sea just in front of your resort. station 1 is also the peaceful side of the island. far away from the party scene. if relaxation is your main goal... this is the place to be as it is really away from the jam packed visitors of the island. Cons - considering it is a bit far from the happening of station 2, consider the distance also to the best restaurants in the island. it is a long walk, but you can always opt to ride a tricycle... i guess that is the only disadvantage location. overall, location, proximity to the beach and relax mood of the resort is a big plus to this resort. resort facilities: we booked the family room. we all thought that our room will be literally facing the beach but it was only our veranda and our room will be somewhat at the back and no window facing the beach... but it didnt matter anyway because we are always in the shore having drinks. room is complete with necessary amenities... clean sheets and towels. beach towel is readily available. bed is really comfy, we had a really nice sleep after a whole day of beach activity. pool... personally i'm not a fan of their pool. it is made of rough concrete. one wrong move youll get bruises. well, i prefer the pristine water of the island. food... their complementary breakfast is not buffet but a set-meal. filling indeed. complementary pick-up from the boracay port is a nice touch. :)
White house
Nice stay
Excellent location and service. Super nice staff. Great food at St Juan Cafe. Room clean and spacious. Cons: Room 206 Super Deluxe noisy at night if windy outside- neighbouring tree branches slamming / scraping / tumbling on the roof- couldn't sleep. The beach chairs are not adjustable- you can only lay on your back in them. Other than that we had a good stay at this hotel.
Friendly staff and lovely beach front
We had an awesome experience staying here as the staff is really friendly and helpful. It also has the best happy hour deal on earth!! Another extra point.... their beds are so comfortable with lots of pillows!! Just love it ;) If there is something that is being left out, it gotta be hand towel. It would be nice if hand towel is provided in the washroom. Thank you.
Great View and Great staff
This resort is a walk down from all the nightlife which was perfect. We could take a taxi there but we chose to walk the beach down to the restaurants and bars each night, it was a safe and gorgeous walk. We really enjoyed being able to leave the bustling area to enjoy some quiet relaxation at White House. The staff was incredibly helpful finding things for us to do or suggesting activities. We enjoyed the pool area staff who were happy to chat or let us relax.
Excellent service, nice location
I booked this resort thru Agoda so we had a pretty big discount. I chose the standard room, but when we got there, the receptionist told us that they upgraded us to deluxe room which is much closer to the beach. The room was nice and spacious for me and my friend. The bathroom is clean. Basic toiletries (shampoo & conditioner, shower gel) were provided. There was a safe in our room, but we never used it. The staff are very courteous and helpful. The receptionist named Azazel (I think) was very accommodating. There were times when we were too lazy to go up our room so we left our stuff at the reception and they were ok with it. They gave us choco chip oatmeal cookies on our first night and banana muffins on our second. We kinda felt spoiled and we loved it. The location is just perfect if you want peace and quiet. And if you're into night life and that kind of stuff, Station 2 is just a 15 minute walk away. Station 1 has the best beach in Boracay. We never took a tricycle to Station 2 or 3 as we both like to walk. The resort has a clean pool, but we never took a dip as we preferred the beach. The breakfast served at Station Juan Cafe was good and the serving was just right for us. There is a lot of sun beds at the beach in front of the resort. My friend and I were very satisfied and I would definitely book this resort on my next trip to Boracay.
Great Resort for couple
Our stay in White House is so great and we really had a good time. We're looking for far from the crowd, beachfront but not so expensive resort. Thank God we found The White House Resort. We paid for standard room but was upgraded to de luxe room for free. I guess because it's lean season. I would recommend this room since it's spacious, it has nice bathroom and has veranda, it's just beside the Beach Club and the resort restaurant. Beach Club is one of the best thing in this resort. You can hang out here, it has swimming pool and you can have a drink while enjoying the night peacefully. White House is also near the famous Willy's Rock. I read some reviews about this resort about being old but it's a good thing that we still push through since the place is very nice though some part are somewhat old (but definitely not the rooms). It's 10 minute walk to the D' Mall via seashore but not passable during high tide so you may opt to ride a tricycle (10 pesos). i'll definitely stay again in this resort! =)
A delightful stay
It is our 2nd time in Boracay station1 and i would say this one is way better than our first. Staff is very warm and friendly. We had welcome drinks which was refreshing. They were nice enough to give us our room early since it was available anyway. We booked 2 rooms, the family room beach front and the deluxe beach front-both were huge! Beddings were not as new but still presentable. Rooms were very clean and obviously well tended. What i like about the rooms are the verandas, each had one so if you need to smoke or drink with friends, its very comfortable. Everyday they clean our rooms and you know when you enter that it was fresh again. Pool was also nice after the beach. Beach side lounging was also very pleasing, sofas look chic. Great for the sunset and happy hour. Prices of drinks not bad too! Since we had a big veranda, we often buy food out and eat it there. They were so accomodating witn our requests, like plates, utensils, glasses and ice, etc. very friendly staff. Food was so so. They were always on time with everything, when u say serve breakfast at 9, food will be waiting by 9 in the veranda. Shuttle was also on time. I also like their thank you for staying gesture, they give cookies and chocolates with their departure letter. Only thing that needs improvement is the shower heads. They need to improve shower facilities as well as water pressure in the 2nd floor. But bottomline, i will go back to this hotel.
Good for relaxation
I have been to Boracay about four times and stayed at different resorts, but this, so far, is my favorite. This is actually wasn't my first choice but the other ones I checked are all fully booked, and since my trip was last minute, I decided to book this one I got a standard room (only one available) for the first night, and deluxe for the rest of my stay, as well as airport transfer arrangement (1400 pesos). I always go for convenience as long as I see its worth the peso. AIRPORT TRANSFER - smooth and hassle free. Mine was arranged by Southwest, which is located outside the airport next to a Sari-sari store. A banner with its name will help you to easily find it. Or you can always ask the guards or airport personnel. They already have a list of all booked passengers, and they just ask you to verify your name and your resort. They have people in southwest uniform to guide you so you'll never get lost. :) -first you take a van going to the port area. I thought that we are all White House guests but the transfer includes everyone arranged by different resorts. -at the port, I was asked to pay 175 pesos for terminal fee. Initially, I thought this was already included in the 1400 pesos I paid to White House to arrange my transfer. I paid anyway. You then take the Ferry going to Boracay Island. This will take about 15mins, I believed. -once crossed, you take a van going to your resort. WHITE HOUSE ROOM- I arrived early at the resort early around 9am. I went to the reception and was welcomed by a drink and asked to register. Though I know the standard check in checkout time, I asked anyway if my room was available. Unfortunately, it wasn't so I decided to just leave my bags at the reception and stayed at the beach area / restaurant to have bfast. I immediately noticed how friendly the guys working there are! I stayed at the bar and ordered bfast which was disappointing for the price I paid (more to this in a while). By 12nn, I decided to try my luck again and asked if my room was available. But it still wasn't. So I didn't have a choice and went to D'mall to buy toiletries. Just to kill time waiting. Finally by 2pm (standard checkin), I was told my room is available. I WAS SOOOO HAPPY to hear it. Until I was escorted across the street, where apparently I will be staying at. I was confused, I didn't know they have rooms across the street. I got in my room (supposedly Standard room) and froze. The room was huge, has 2 twin beds, TV isn't a flat screen, CR was big but need some cleaning. It has a glass door with curtains to keep your privacy but no double lock whatsoever. I decided to take a shower so I can go on with my day at the beach. But passed by the reception to complain about (1) Low water pressure; took me forever to wash my hair (2) room was hot even with the ac on. (3) slow wifi (4) mosquitos! Imagine how disappointed I was! After waiting for hours to get my room and this is what I get. I almost wanted to cry and thought if I go sleep at another resort for the night, or don't sleep at all and stay at station 2. However, by around 6pm, I again passed by the reception before going back to this room, and made a follow up on my complaints. Ms Darlene (inhouse manager) was there with her friendly smile and called my by my first name as if I have stayed there for days already. I told her about my room and the first thing she said was " Do you want to transfer room? I can transfer you. " Bottom line, I got upgraded to Deluxe room on my first night (see photos) at the new bdlg, just on top of where the restaurant was located. This time I was relieved. Much much better room than the other one. The deluxe room at R207 was perfect for me. The size was perfect, bed was in good condition as well as the ac, everything except the water heater in the shower. You have to keep one adjusting it to get the right temp, and when you do, it just keeps getting hotter or colder so you have to adjust again. Didn't bother me much as long as I don't stay at the old bldg. Also, they provide shampoo and Bath Gel which smells good. However, I suggest you bring a sponge to use otherwise you'll be wasting a lot of it. Maybe better if they have a bath soap in the same scent instead. One incident though, on my 2nd day, I went back to my room to find that the bed was made up. I didn't have the sign to have it cleaned so I thought they did anyway. However, the trash was still there, hair on my bathroom flr was still there, and the glasses I used were still there. Exact location I left them. If that was housekeeping, then they failed. FOOD - Okay, here is the area where they can improve more. Reading other reviews, I think what they have now is already improved. But there's still room for some more. For the amount they charge, they can do better or lower the prices. I ordered bfast when I first arrived at the resort, it was pancake, sausage, eggs, bacon and fries. The pancakes were super thin, dry and taste flat (I bet you make better pancakes). bacon, was ok, the sausage taste weird for me, the eggs are ok, fries are ok. But for the price of I think 400+ isn't worth it. I also tried the beef salpicao, it was way too salty. I have my room with bfast. The food is okay though it is not buffet style. You just choose from their set meals. My only complain is the coffee. They serve it on a tiny tea cup. And you can only get one serving otherwise you pay 80 pesos (If I remember it right, but absolutely with a charge). Personally, I think White House should make this at least refillable given that bfast is not buffet unlike other resorts OR use bigger mugs. It really is not enough serving to wake me up completely. SERVICE -Nothing to complain about here. White house should be proud to have one of the best staffs I have met having traveled domestic and international. I went on a solo trip to relax, so I decided Station 1 away from the crowd. Their staff made me feel safe in the resort. They are friendly, accommodating, and even calls you by first name which makes me feel at home. They attend to what you need especially when you decide to stay at the loungers by the beach. I usually stay here all day. One time, it was so hot (they didnt have the umbrella due to being windy), so Kuya Boyet put a beach bed where the shade was so I can still stay at the beach. Very very thoughtful! I also asked Kuya JR at the bar to keep my bag there everytime I decide to go swim or when I tried Skimboarding. He even put my bottled water at the fridge because it was still cold when I got back. They all go the extra mile to serve you. Overall, I would definitely, stay here again and recommend to my friends. As long as I stay in the rooms in the new building. The rooms across the street seriously need some upgrades. Special mention to the staff during my stay who were very accommodating. Ms Darlene (thanks for the upgrade!), Kuya Boyet, JR and DIng at the bar for the good service.
excellent location
We had a fabulous stay at this resort hotel. Service was great throughout our stay. Love the lounge area where you can relax, have a few drinks (lychee mojito!!) while watching the sunset. The music in the lounge is superb as well. Room was okay though I would love to have another mirror in the room (only mirror by the sink). Would definitely stay here again on my next boracay visit.
White House Service From the Heart
This is our second time to stay at the Resort. I must say that the layout of the place has changed since then. They have a newly built bar now, and with the great lounge areas, it was a cool place to hang out. Station Juan Cafe was a wonderful addition. Downside was that the ground floor room living room and veranda had to be cut in half, but it helped offer us privacy that way. We stayed with my family and my husband's brother's family last Jan. 8-10, 2014. We occupied the Ground Floor Rooms and the Super Deluxe Room, and both offered excellent views of the beach. The rooms were clean, and the free toiletries smelled divine. Love their organic soap giveaway. Special mention to Ms. Darlene for going above and beyond the call of duty to bring my luggage keys all the way to our next hotel. That's what I call service from the heart. I might hazard a guess that she is also responsible for the improvements in guest services, small attention to details that go a long way to touch the hearts of those staying at the resort. Only complaint was the water pressure at the Ground Floor but other than that, if you want 5-star quality service from the heart for a budget price, White House Resort is the best choice along Station 1. We will definitely come back!
Great 5 whole days in White House Boracay
We had our 5D / 4N stay in Boracay just last week! Really, it took me a month to find the best resort for my family (I was with my hubby and 6 year old kid). Imagine, surfing the net everyday reading all the reviews and checking out photos of the place. It was really down to 3 at that time, and boy was I so glad we picked White House. I personally contacted the owners (Maggie and Amanda), not only because it's more personalized but I guess much cheaper. Too glad they gave me the off peak rates considering that it will only start by June 15. We picked the Super Deluxe room, it's located in the 2nd floor of the place. Wait, let me go through the details one by one so my review can be much appreciated. a. Room - Yes, it doesn't have a beachfront view but you can be at the beach by 3 minutes or less! The room was huge. So huge that you can feel your money's worth! While the pictures from the site were accurate, meaning - same view, furnitures, beddings, arrangement, etc. it can be deceiving. Deceiving because it's much a better experience to having see and feel it yourself. Especially the beds!!!! They are so great that I think we've had our sweet dreams, undisturbed sleep all throughout the night! It was so comfortable, so soft and how I loved the fragrance. It must be the fabric conditioner they used in washing the sheets, or I don't know, but the point is, it just smell so darn pleasant! b. Bathroom - Quite spacey too I must say. It could have been better if they allotted some space from the main bedroom to the bathroom to allow more space, say a bathtub could have been nicer, but just the same, we were not there to stay in the bathroom so I would still consider it to be perfectly fine! c. Dressers / Compartments - as I've said, room is too huge that you won't have any problems where to place / unpack your things! They have a separate closet beside the bathroom wherein I jut placed all our stuff for easy access. It was like you never left your own home and you don't have to spend time finding what to wear. One disadvantage though is that you are facing a door adjacent to the next room, it's a door leading to another room which I think can be transformed to a big family room if guest will request for it. Although it is locked, you can still somehow see the insides of the other room which I guess they can likewise see us (but only if they really peeked!). And if in case they do, they can see you dressing up! I'm glad no one was booked in that other room during our stay! But still you have the option of dressing up in other parts of the room (remember, room is huge!) d. Balcony - even the balconies are big. You can see the beach if you'll look to your left. Facing front, you can view Sur Beach resort. We didn't use this much though given that we were always out, only to smoke once in a while or to hang our clothes to dry. The lock of the sliding door is working, by the way, so safety is not a problem. e. TV with cable - my kid appreciated this because he was the one using it at night before going to sleep. No problems with reception. f. DVD player - we did not use this at all! If you intend to stay here and use the machine, I suggest you bring your own tapes as renting one will cost you 200pesos only for a night! g. Refrigerator - again, came in handy during our stay. My son was in antibiotics and had to store his meds in a cool freezing point so was I glad we booked a room with a refrigerator. It has ice trays too, so you can buy your own mineral water or other drinks from somewhere else like a sari-sari store so it will cost you less. h. Airconditioning - For those expecting to be awake at night freezing from the cold, you will be disappointed, i think because the room is huge, the aircon no longer has the capacity to cool the entire room. Don't get me wrong though, it is still cool, however, there were times that it was at it's minimum level. i. Cabanas - this is what I loved most about the place! Imagine, dining facing the beach? that made our vacation even more pleasant! We had our breakfast there, with their great coffee, and spent most of our days just lazing around in the cabanas, while my kid was having a great time swimming at the resort's own pool. The pool and the bar is just beside the cabanas! We even had our massages there at the cabanas! It was so relaxing! j. Food - I didn't enjoy the food though, especially the fries we ordered. Food is quite expensive here and not that lovely to a critical taste buds. Instead, we usually dine at Sea Wind, which is just right beside White House. Food is great, plenty of servings and costs less. k. Staff - were courteously nice. Especially the guy who picked us up from Caticlan and who brought us back in. I just forgot his name... sorry. l. Location - the BEST! Considering it's the cheapest in the area! A great walking distance to Fridays, Discovery Shores, Sur, Pearl of the Pacific. A long walk though to D'Mall but you have an option to take a trike if you don't want long distance walking. Overall, we loved it here! The best part of white beach is in this area, less crowded and clean! I just wished though that they had nice big nipa umbrellas apart from their cabanas (like the ones in Pearl!) so guests can likewise stay and lie in the sand). We even thought of extending our stay, unfortunately place is already fully booked. But if we are to go back in Boracay, I will definitely book in this place again! Highly recommended!!!!!! A thumbs-up to White House!
A disappointing dinner! Shame on you Martin Jickain!
We were staying at Discovery Shores for the weekend and decided to have dinner somewhere close to our hotel to avoid going into D'Mall again, so looked at the menu at the White House Beach resort and decided to try it. The staff are friendly and helpful but obviously not that well trained. We ordered from the BBQ- hot dogs, pork kebabs and liempo and also some baby back ribs for myself. The BBQ stuff was okay but then again, there's not much cooking involved. My baby back ribs were a bit of a disaster- they were dry to the point of being almost inedible and covered with some rather strange tasting BBQ sauce. The parmesan fries were a bit limp and the corn amounted to about 2 teaspoons of corn- not very generous portions for sure! The restaurant is advertised as being owned / run by chef Martin Jickain. If I were him I would be rather embarrassed to have my name associated with this sort of 'so-so' restaurant. The other thing I hated was the obnoxious techno music that was blaring from all the speakers making it almost impossible to talk to anyone during the meal, but this seems to be the norm in many Boracay restaurants. What ever happened to the concept of having a nice dinner on the beach, listening to the sound of waves breaking against the shore? Call me old-fashioned but I really hate loud, thumping music when I am trying to have dinner with family or friends. Would we go back to the White House? I don't think so given the fact that there are so many other really excellent restaurants in Boracay. Chef Martin Jickain needs to spend more time in his kitchen and make sure that there is some sort of quality control of his food. The restaurant also needs to provide free bottles of water- the cost would be minimal and it would be a nice gesture. I really hate having to pay for water when it is such a basic commodity- the hotel could surely build that into their overall costings. The hotel itself looks a bit depressing with slightly shabby décor- looking at the prices listed on Trip Advisor I would say that people probably are not getting good value for money here. There are lots of better options along the beach!
Good start, Bad ending
Our initial stay was good, our room was comfortable. Staff was nice. The problem started on our check-out. We advised front desk staff the day before our check-out that we wanted our breakfast served by 6:30am since we were checking out 7am to make it for our flight at 9:10am. We also informed them that we wanted our transfer to be at 7am and that we want to settle our incidentals since we have already pre-paid our rooms On our check-out date, 6:30am came and went and still no breakfast. We had to call them twice before our food arrived at 6:40am. When I went to the front desk to ask about our bill, they could not find it and I was informed that they had to look for it first. We also found out that no transfers was arranged for us. They had to make last minute arrangements and we were able to leave the resort at around 7:40am. Needless to say we were not able to make it to our flight and we had to pay for new tickets which cost 4x the amount of our previous airfare. It was a very bad experience for us and when we informed the manager about what happened to us, he did not even bother to reply to our complaint. We were not even asking for compensation, we just wanted him to acknowledge the irresponsibility of his staff which resulted to our horrendous experience. Next time, I will just stay on a resort that will take care of us from check-in to check-out.
Just OK
Pros: -The photos of the Super Deluxe Room on the website were accurate. Often times, establishments try to make their rooms look more spacious on their brochures / websites than they really are. We were happy to find a very large room (1 queen & 1 single bed) which could have easily fit 2-3 more single beds. -Our room had a DVD player -- very useful when you're waiting for the weather to get better. -There's a swimming pool you can use if the ocean's too rough or if you have small kids -Upon booking (by phone) and without me even asking, they waived the extra person charge (we were 3 pax). -They sent their van to pick us up from the port at no extra charge. -Staff was friendly. -Location: north of Boat Station 1 where the beach is wide and the sand is finer Cons: -The Statement of Account said that our package included buffet breakfast, but we never saw a buffet. It was a set breakfast for us everyday -- we were just asked to choose from around 4-7 options (e. g. bacon or ham or sausage with bread or rice, etc). When we asked why, they said that it was because it was the low season. Maybe it was an oversight by the reservations people, but you really should be upfront about what is included in the package and what is not. -There were only 3 lounge chairs available. Again we were told that the rest of the chairs were in storage because it was the low season. Even if it was the low season, the resort had a lot of guests when we were there. The number of lounge chairs, and the preparation of a breakfast buffet should be based on the number of guests and not whether it was low or high season. Overall, our White House experience was average. We stayed during the rainy season which led us to spend a bit more time in our room than we would have in the summer. And while, as mentioned, the rooms were spacious, they were too white and devoid of any character. A small dining table would have been welcome (we ate breakfast sitting on our beds). Also, the sliding doors that led to the balcony did not close properly, so we couldn't lock them -- definitely a security concern. You'd enjoy White House If you are a family or a group of friends. If you are a couple looking for a romantic getaway, you might want to look at other options.
Used to be my favorite
I have always loved white house and I've led so many friends to stay there. The last time I stayed in white house was in december 2012 and I had no problems. Some of the staff were still friendly and nice but here are the negative things that I experienced 1. They cleaned my room but just the bed and maybe some sweeping. We had soiled towels that they didnt take for days 2. We had a coffee cup that was there since thursday that they didnt take till we left on monday. 3. Empty water bottles were left instead of being thrown out 4. I LOST MY BAG IN THE ROOM. One of the few times we left the keys with front office. I am not blaming anyone but they werent even HELPFUL IMPLYING THAT I WAS DRUNK AND LOST IT. When i remember correctly that it was in the room before I left for dinner cause I only brought my phone. I wanted to see the cctv video but they werent minding me when I said so I had to walk out out of frustration because there were guests and I didnt want to cause a scene. 5. Never got an apology or empathy I lost my bag and wallet all my id's and no help from any of the staff. They wouldnt even let me extend check out since we were frantically looking for it. 6. I asked them to book a transfer to kalibo at the last minute they informed me they didnt book it. 7. My friend also lost his passport in our room. Again no remorse or empathy from the staff
Less than Stellar
A place that doesn't live up to the venue. Spot is nice, beachfront is nice, happy hour is good. Wifi is really poor, bar staff is less than friendly and our room wasn't cleaned once during the stay. Sur next door looks cleaner, more pleasant just from the window.
Horrid!
I came back to this place after having a great experience 4 years ago when we stayed here. Today, it is simply a nightmare to stay here. First, our room is across the street. You can hear all the cars, tricycles and what not passing by. Front door was hard to open. You had to use your shoulder to push it. Same thing with bathroom door! Paint was peeling off the walls, ceiling had water marks. Stickers placed by someone's kid or a guest on the 4 post bed. This room I think was simply left to die and rot by the owner. Remote control for the tv had a rubber band to keep batteries from falling off. No towels in room or glasses. Fridge was smelly. Bathroom had ants all over! Toilet flush was non functional. Service? You complain about the sad condition of our room but they would just brush it off like we really didn't had a choice. I gess this is what you get for not reading trip advisor in advance. Worst experience on boracay.
Disappointed
Pre booked a deluxe room 2 weeks before and paid 50% on reservation. Arrived at the hotel past 3 pm only to be told that there is no room available at the time. They gave us a temporary room behind the hotel but its like in front of parking garage and the toilet doesn't even have a toilet seat. After 2 hours of waiting, we finally came back to the front office only to be told that our room is still not ready. The guy in the FO was not even apologetic. The room that we got doesn't even have a proper shower and consistent hot water. No hair dryer in the room and there is a kettle but no coffee cups. The only nice thing about the hotel are the service crew who are very friendly and accommodating.
Not worth your time and money!
The room veranda door was broken. Water was running out at night especially hot water that we had to be transferred towards the end of out stay! Rooms smell like molds! The water pipe broke when we were there because it was too old and they were hammering at 9 in the morning! What a headache! They dont even provide tissue in the bathroom. Faucets are nasty! And the WORST of all, THE MANAGER, MAGGIE WHO IS THE DAUGHTER OF THE OWNER WAS THERE AND WOULD NOT EVEN SPEAK TO THE GUESTS AND APOLOGIZE! THE WHOLE FAMILY WAS THERE AND WERE ACTING LIKE KINGS AND QUEENS! NO PR!!!! THEY WILL NOT EVEN ASK THE GUESTS HOW THEY ARE DOING! YOU ARE IN THE SERVICE BUSINESS AND YOU NEED TO SERVE YOUR GUESTS WELL!
my celphone and camera stolen
Stayed here and had my celphone and camera stolen while I was taking a nap in my room in the afternoon. Needless to say - horrible and traumatic experience and the hotel staff did nothing to help - not even helping file a police report. Don't stay here.
Owner disrespectful
Place is not for family. My son got stung by jellyfish because he couldn't use the pool. The owner arrived drunk and set up a table in the pool to eat and drink alcohol. It made the place look cheap. We complained but they couldn't do anything about it. The owner showed no respect with guests at all. We organised a private van and boat and paid at the reception on check out. The driver told us that he wasn't advised and we had to pay the van and the boat again. So disappointing. I was planning to stay here again with friends but changed my mind.
Happy hour? more like happy day!!!
The wifey and i didn't stay here but had the pleasure of watching beautiful sunsets and great nibbles with super cheap beers and cocktails from 7am till 7 pm. Ding our waiter was so attentive and talk about personal service. During our 2 day stay in Boracay, white house was our place to hang and chill. It has the best deck with chill music and cheap drinks, did i mention the drinks? hahahaha. Overall I'd definitely recommend this place. Might book a room next time were in the island. Thank you Ding, and thank you white house. Till our next vacation. Maraming salamat
The staff made our stay!
We were a party of four on a week long stay at the hotel. We got the ground floor beach house and deluxe room fronting the hotel closest to the pool. That found the hotel to be tired and dated. The exterior was dirty, rusted in places, with chipped paint, mold and rotting banisters. But the rooms were spacious and very comfortable. It could use a serious remodeling particularly when compared to the neighboring hotels that are new and hip. The staff at the hotel made our stay amazing! They were incredibly accommodating and friendly. The food and drinks at the bar were good though we found the breakfast to be lacking compared to other hotels in station 1. On the weekends starting on Friday afternoon through Sunday night they would play loud music non stop! And on Saturday morning there was a live TV talk show filmed on the beachfront that lasted a couple hours. It took away from the beach experience and was quite annoying. But on weekdays, it was quiet and you could really enjoy the beauty of the beach. The resort is located on the best stretch of beach with gorgeous sunsets. Though in general we had a great time in Boracay and truly appreciated the friendly staff and the gorgeous beach, I would not rate this hotel 4 stars and would not likely return in the future. There are just too many other good options on the Island.
Very bad service. Don't go to this place. Beware if you're tempted to book this place. You're vacation will be ruined
I don't expect 5-star service but I do expect competent service at the very least. The staff here is so INCOMPETENT, especially the reception. THEY ALMOST MADE US MISS OUR FLIGHT! Transfers from hotel to the Boracay port is included in the room rate. Weeks then days before, I emailed them my flight details. They knew they were supposed to bring someone to the port on that day but made no effort to make arrangements for it. In the morning of our flight, we eveninformed them about the time we were supposed to be picked up in the afternoon. When the time of pickup came, no one went to our room. We went to reception and they were clueless as to who will bring us to the port. They can't even tell us if there's really someone bringing us to the port. There is no sense of urgency even though it's already 2 hours before our flight. No one seems to care at all that were about to miss our flight. No one even tried to find us some form of transportation. The manager kept saying she didn't know about it and that she was not informed about it by the person we spoke to in the morning. While making excuses, she made no effort at all to get us a ride. We had to drag our luggage and find 2 tricycles by ourselves on the main road and make our way to the port by ourselves. Imagine how much of a hassle finding tricycles in the main road for 2 adults and 4 kids with luggage? That's the last straw for us, having 5 days of bad service. So I'M ENUMERATING ALL THE OTHER BAD SERVICE they gave to show how inattentive and uncaring the staff were and to beware that they will treat you the same way if you book at this resort: 1. PICKUP AT BORACAY PORT. They made no attempt to coordinate with us regarding pickup at Boracay port on the day of our arrival. I emailed them several times with no reply until I called them. We were told to call when we were on the boat already. At the boat, I called them and they were clueless as to who will pick us up. 2. ARRIVAL IN OUR ROOM: We arrived on time at check-in and the room was not ready. They expected 6 people but they had beds and towels for only 4 people. We had to follow-up on this and repeatedly follow-up on the towels. 3. LINEN: When we went to our room on the day of our arrival, the linen on the bed are all crumpled and looked used by the previous occupant. We had doubts if they removed the linen of the previous occupant so we actually needed to follow up on this. 4. IN ROOM SAFE: it's not working and they made no attempt to fix it even when we complained about it. 5. WHEN MY SON CALLED RECEPTION AND ASKED FOR THE WIFI PASSWORD, he also reported to the person he's speaking to that there is no signal in the 2f family beachfront room we booked. The reception rudely answered him: why is he asking for a wifi password at all when there's no signal in the room? 6. WIFI: no wifi in the family room beachfront. You can pick up residencia resort and sur resorts wifi but not at white house. 7. BEDS AND PILLOWS: uneven and uncomfortable. We didn't sleep well. 7. HOUSEKEEPING: when we stayed in the room till after lunch, housekeeping knocked at our room, blocked their cleaning things across our door, and drove us out of our room. Instead of waiting for us to call them to clean their room, they went to our room and drove us out so they can clean it and I suppose go home early. Good thing we were going out anyway so we let it slide since we don't want to ruin our vacation by being ill-tempered about it. 8. AFTER ALMOST MAKING US MISS OUR FLIGHT, by not providing the transportation they promised, they were unapologetic and did not help us at all to get another transportation. Other guests at reception agreed that their service is really that bad when we complained because they were receiving the same treatment. One guest can't even find her luggage that she left at reception and when she asked reception, they don't know where it is our whether it was placed in her room. WE WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO A FRIEND OR RELATIVE DESPITE THE LOCATION. They gave us so much hassle that it took so much effort on our part not to let their bad service ruin our vacation. This is a family vacation we look forward to every year. This place will ruin your vacation.
Difficult to sleep-Party Hotel
This hotel is great for you if you like to party, however, if like us you want to be able to sleep do not book a room here. We checked in on the first night and given a tiny room with little natural light by the really noisy road about 5 floors up (no elevator). I asked to move rooms as I had paid for a deluxe room. I was told they were full and couldn't move me. When I asked about moving hotels and getting a refund I was told I could move rooms the next day. So we agreed to stay. Our next room was much much bigger but no tea or coffee, no flannels, there was a balcony but it looked out onto another hotel and onto a busy corridor and over reception where people walked through noisily throughout the night. I was woken up by drunken guests every night sitting out on their balconies talking or shouting from the bar. The sliding doors to the balcony were not sound proof and I could hear everyone's conversations word to word. There was really loud dance music playing from the bar all day long thumping away. It was so loud you could hear it from down the beach-I bet neighbouring guests in other hotels were dismayed by the music too. This type of atmosphere belongs in station 2 not station 1 where you pay good money for a quieter environment. The breakfast was very poor. Unlike other hotels close by who had their restaurants outside on the beach the White House cafe was by the road and it wasn't a buffet either-so no choice. Very basic and no fresh fruit on the menu. The staff were not very friendly. Some were ok but compared to the staff we had experienced in other hotels they weren't as welcoming. If you like to party this is your hotel but if you want a quiet relaxing experience go elsewhere.
international host
its my second time here and now im with my family. we met this guy at the bar thinking he is one of the guest coz he's black, then we knew that he is one of the waiters, my girlfriend had a hard time trying to ask this fat guy martin for her order.. whoa! he is speaking with the local dialect.. its nice to have someone serving you that foreign yet has that Filipino hospitality with him. me and my family had a nice vacation during our stay here, planning to be back this December and hoping you'd still be there " Taba "
A sunset gem for happy hour drinks
Great spot for Sunset each evening - nice comfortable chairs and beautiful ambience. Particularly active, vibrant and buzzy on Saturdays and Sundays. Beautiful location with the added bonus of cheap beers and cocktails throughout happy hour - up to 7.00 pm each night. 3 Beers for 165php and 2 for 1 cocktails. Staff very friendly and nice. A must for apres beach drinks on beautiful white sands beach.
Loved it!!!
Stayed here during off peak season... we had the 'suite' i guess you can call it. we had a huge patio, a kitchen, a receiving area and one big room with a king size bed and two singles. additional beds were added to accommodate us. The place was clean, with warm running water, the pool was mainly deserted which we loved. breakfast was great, which they served in one of their huts. only downside was the renovations for additional huts. it's a bit of a walk to the area where they had bars and restaurants... the white house was in the more quiet area of boracay. which worked out perfect for us since we were there for relaxation... we didn't really want to deal with the crowds. overall, a decent place for a family at a good price.
Almost there, but not quite.
Sun worshippers and beach addicts will find the location of White House excellent. It is grouped among the more high-priced resorts on Station 1 of Boracay Island. The facade, while literally reminding you of a two-storey house painted in white, is fronted by four native-style beach huts which allow guests to laze away in the shade in between dips in the water. As I had to attend a wedding and beach reception at nearby Friday's, my friends took care of booking me into a super deluxe room which I find very big for myself. It is ideally a triple-sharing unit with bed configurations of a double and a single. The furnishings include native style furnitures, cable tv and dvd player, a spacious toilet and bath (standing shower), mini-bar and a relaxing balcony (but without a view since it overlooks the rear cottages of the neighboring resort.) The over-all feel is hotel-like the moment you close the window drapes and head to deep slumber. However, much as I would like to give the property at least four stars, certain aspects prevent me from doing so. Breakfast service sucks. As management may have already decided to totally scrap preparing a breakfast buffet even if there is full occupancy, it was a choice between room or poolside serving of the set meal. This would have been alright, if not for the long time it takes for such simple plates to reach you. And as if the waiting is not enough, I ended up with an incomplete trays on two separate mornings. The first morning had no coffee and sauce for the food, while the second morning had spilled coffee and no sauce again for the food. I hate begging for my free breakfast because the room rate is so high (more than USD100 / night) that I deserve at least a decent level of service and attention. Another issue which management needs to take charge of is insuring that front desk is not left unmanned, especially during the hours of 6am to 9pm. Since the front liners are also tasked to take care of the guests' needs outside of their work station, double duties mean that there are frequent occasions when nobody is available to answer questions / concerns at reception. Attention to details leave much to be desired. Over-all, I would consider this resort as slightly overpriced if I had to cost-analyze the same services being offered by competitors to their right and left.
Had a great stay
We just came back from Boracay and had a wonderful stay at White House. The owner- Amanda Tirol- was there when we arrived and she generously upgraded us to a suite room which was right in front of the beach! Our parents were also upgraded to a beachfront family room and our other relatives were upgraded to a super deluxe. Talk about nice surprises! Their rooms are really spacious and the beds were oh so comfortable. We went with our baby girl and her long, peaceful naps are testaments to how comfy she felt. Service was really wonderful. As advised by a tripadvisor member, we had our lunch and dinner prepared by the White House staff, so we had a feast of fresh prawns, grilled fish, barbequed chicken and pork, plus bottomless fruit shakes! We really had a lot of savings on food because of this arrangement, and we had a great dining experience at the same time. They were also kind enough to prepare our baby's soup. Overall, White House is a comfortable, good resort that I highly recommend, especially to families. Location is the best. The resort is right at the best part of Boracay. Aside from the comforts of the resort, we had the best view of the beach all day!
Overall it was OK
The White House Beach Resort has much capability, but failed in some aspects to receive a good review. The rooms were big, it was clean and the beds were comfortable. Bathroom worked, it was roomy as well and was provided with the necessary amenities. Be careful in the hallways, for some reason the floor was very slippery. I think that is something that needs to be improved on or warning labels should exist, as there weren't any. Staff members were mostly very friendly and helpful, however some were exceptionally friendly and some weren't at all. The Pool and beach decks I thought were very well designed and comfortable, nothing beats spending the afternoon on the deck while relaxing over some drinks. But, that's also where the part comes, which me and my buddies didn't like so much; The music, it was all the same and had no character. This lounge type of music drove us nuts and we honestly found it to be very tasteless. The friendly bartender allowed us to play some of our songs off our playlist, but that only lasted for 20 mins. I'm not saying lounge music should never be played, but why not try some variety? Maybe next time :) Breakfast was, well, nothing special. It was plated and came with a drink. You had to pay for extras, ex. additional egg, etc. I've stayed in hotels that cost $20 a night, where I still received a sumptuous buffet. In short, breakfast was a let down. I'm not sure if I'd like to come back here but I am recommending this resort to anyone who can live the drawbacks I've listed above. Thank you for reading and let me know if you have questions.
Nice rooms and nothing else
We stayed in a super de luxe beachfront room. The room was nice. We had our own private veranda. My only issue was the bathroom. The water pressure was bad. The water would flow then suddenly nothing comes out. It might take you a while to finish your shower. The bathroom drain was not working properly. It took forever to drain the water after your shower. They only provided bath towels. When I called to ask for a face towels, they said that they didn't have any. They advertised as having a pool but the pool looks like a pond with dirty water. When we arrived, the pool was under maintenance. They were re-painting the sides. The pool was not drained during the maintenance. We saw paint residues mixing with the pool water. After 2 days, they re-opened the pool without changing the water. Eww Plus point: Courteous staff and good location Minus points: Low water pressure and poor bathroom drain, dirty pool
Saved by its Beach location
Some facts around this hotel: -Excellent location on Station 1, you will have breakfast and lazy afternoons fronting the beach. We walked along the whole White Beach and I do not see anywhere else where I would rather have satyed in terms of beach location. -Rooms, our room was spacious, we could easily fit 1 extra bed and still have a lot of space left in the room (2 adults, 2 kids 6, 8 yrs. old). Finish is not perfect but ok if you do not have to high expectations. -Service varies, I had a few things that annoyed me but overall it is acceptable. -WiFi is free and works fine in the pool area, not in the room though. -Pool is better than it looks on the pictures, I was aftraid it was going to be murky water but it is not. Our kids enjoyed it. -Excellent drinks in the hotel beach bar, with 2 for 1 every evening.
" Very poor bed "
Not my first time in Boracay but first time in making a review. Here goes. Don't like: Bed-poorest one I've ever slept in. Felt like it didn't have any support underneath or it's just a really worn out bed that needs replacement asap or else you will get a back problem. It's curved like a banana. Not your idea of a good night sleep. When my companion moved, the whole bed moved. Definitely, it is not a water bed. Bathroom-no soap holder. May not be a big deal for others but you know, you can slip in them if they " slipped " from the sink to the floor. And for sanitation purposes too. Shower heads needs to be cleaned so one can enjoy the strong gush of water. No bathtub if that's important to you. Sliding door-the glass door towards the balcony. Too much effort to lock so we just left it unlocked. Intercon-the way to communicate with the receptionist or whoever picks up the phone (no greetings sometimes). Another guest didn't properly hung up his extension, and I have to go down to the reception area to ask for something that's why I knew that someone didn't hung up their phone properly. Beach chair / lounge-not enough. And since anyone can just stay there (just buy some drinks), in-house guest can be stripped off from using them. In room Safety deposit box-none. Don't try asking the receptionist if the resort has one, you'll be heartbroken. Customer service-needs improvement. Smile is free, don't hesitate to give one always. Btw, I was asked if I need an official receipt. This should be automatic. And also, to my surprise, they only wrote half the amount I paid on it. Shouldn't be the whole price?. Didn't check it until I was in the van on way to Cagban. Pool-didn't look like one. More of a fishing pond. Like: Location-good spot to relax in front of beach. Seen a couple of cool weddings just beside the resort. No loud music to disturb your calm self. Nice and quiet. Spacious room-that's it, spacious. ACU-even if its old, it served its purpose Security-not sure if they have one, but glad nothing was stolen even if they don't have a safe or they use ordinary door knobs with key. Cable TV-they have my fave, Discovery turbo, yay! In a nutshell, nothing extra special about this place. You are paying for the nice location, that's it. Bring drinking water because there's no complimentary ones :-)
Good location but bad service
We stayed here last june 4-9... We stayed on the beachside in deluxe room. The room was spacious and the bed was ok, but the i did not like their bathroom, it looked like it was not cleaned and their was a stinky smell. The food was ok but they closed the bar every early. The pool was not good, it is not advisable to swim because the flooring is not smooth as it should be and its like your swimming in the pond. At the same time, i think they never changed the water and it's a bit cold. And the worst part here is never expect that they have excellent service because their service is a bit terrible. At the same time their cabanas are untidy. Also, even they cleaned our room everyday I could still feel the sands on my bed and i think they are just changing our towel, fixing our bed and slightly removing some sands on floor. Honestly, I was not that satisfied in my stay here, they should improve their service and they should clean their place. I was dismayed because their location was great but their service was not good and the place was untidy. If they could only improve their service and clean their place, I might stay again here but for now I don't think so...
Not bad, but not the best.
Service here was good, except for at the very beginning of out stay. The check out time at this hotel in 2:00pm but when we arrived at around 2:30, the previous occupants of our room were still there. We waited for around 30 min, and got fed up so we ate lunch. When we got back, we finally got to go to our room. It was very nice for its price. The rest of our stay was great! Only complaint is that the hotel is in need of some outdoor remodeling.
Good stretch of beach, decent hotel, good value
My wife and two kids and I spent a week there in July 2012 and found the White House Hotel to be decent value. It's a small operation and although there is a decent swimming pool, there really are no other facilities, apart from some tables / cabanas to eat at. The saving grace is the beautiful stretch of beach out front -- breathtakingly beautiful, and not overrun with people or hawkers. The room we had was average size and clean, with functioning TV and air con. There was a nice balcony. The beds were OK. What you get at the White House Hotel is access to an incredible beach at a price well below most of the neighboring hotels, which charge much more. The breakfast, included in the price at White House, was disappointing, and the staff never seemed to get our order exactly right. If your family's needs are simple -- a good beach, a decent pool and some sand on which to play -- White House will probably fit the bill. I liked the fact that the White House staff didn't complain that we brought in booze and food from outside to our room. We went in the rainy season and found it was a good time, overall, to visit, in terms of avoiding the big crowds and getting good value for money.
delightful experience
We had moved to this resort from another place as friends were staying here, we were with a group of people that attended a wedding. Most of our friends ended up hanging out in this place which had happy hour from 7am to 7pm. The room was nice and clean. there were renovations but it did not bother us at all. the beach front had beach huts that was very relaxing to stay at and enjoy the sunsets. Darlene at their front office was very good to us and made sure we were taken cared of. The location is fantastic. The food was good and affordable and arnold gave us wonderful ice cold beer. I also looked for san mig apple and they were the only ones that had it, this was to my delight.
Excellent!
We have spent two vacations in 3 years on Boracay, staying on White House Beach Resort. Excellent Service, GREAT staff and the perfect spot on the beach - away from the crowdy part. Lovely beach, food is ok, bar is really great and overall a PERFECT place to spend a week or two where you can explore Boracay. At this great hotel you are not bothered by the people seeling things on the beach so you can relax and read your book and enjoy the surroundings. I would love to go back again.
Nice but be patient
Seems that an overall opinion is that they take quite long to get your room ready when you arrive, so keep that in mind if you are flying by night as us and you are expecting to lay down in your bed once that you reach your hotel. People usually leave the room at 3pm! Now let's go to the quality... The Super Deluxe bedroom is so nice, you will have the sea in your front. We took the normal deluxe bedroom for two. My advice is to take it on the first floor! The ground floor bedrooms are noisy and not quite private, you can clearly see who is inside! The service is nice and people will always pay attention to make your visit nicer. They have a wonderful happy-day frame for cheap drinks
Excellent Customer Experience
Great customer service and value for money. I commend all hotel staff. Since I am currently pregnant, they upgraded us to a beachfront room so I won't have a hard time going back and forth to the beach. Will definitely go back.
overall ok
stayed for a week and at first was quite disappointed with the transfers coz we were 'always' fetched at the vip port when booked at the nearby resort. the room was big and clean and it could be better if the finishing touches were done in good taste. there should also be a hair dryer.compared to the adjacent resorts there's no shuttle to and from dmall. food is average but was expecting more from their famous chef. not much to choose from their free breakfast. and please.. change your corned beef!! thought it was only us who disliked its awful taste but then we also heard the other guests commented on the negative. service is ok. the cr at the lobby should always be clean coz i used it once and was very disappointed. their best selling point was their beachfront. the drinks and the sounds were great you can stay there all day!
Include breakfast with your booking
The Filipino breakfast choices are a hit with me because I like to experience the culture and cuisine of areas I visit. I enjoyed the tapsilog so much that I make it often at home. It's so much easier and cost effective to include the breakfast with your booking. Get up, enjoy your breakfast, and get out on the beach.
What a pity, there is so much room for improvement
We arrived on January 1st just before the check in time of 2pm. We had to kill time on the because because our rooms were not ready until 5pm. That was a big issue -- one which our group needs to deal with. The room was spacious but it was ordinary. The beds' mattresses peaked in the middle, so much so, you were in danger of falling or rolling into the floor if you were caught off balanced. A friend's pillows had an unpleasant smell so we had to call housekeeping to replace then. The hot water was intermittent and the foot towel I placed just in front of the sink would get soaked. I don't know where the leak was coming from. There were no complimentary amenities except for a papaya scented shampoo and conditioner and a fruity scented body wash--both of which we didn't use because they looked and smelled so sketchy. There was one mirror in the entire room and it was the bathroom mirror. The bathroom counter just had enough space for the sink so that you could not put anything else on top of it. There was a balcony and a rack was provided where you could hang swimsuits or beach towels to dry. The room was hardly sound proof because I could hear tricycles and other vehicles passing by and roosters were crowing quite early in the morning. Luckily I had earplugs. Our breakfast was included in the price of the hotel. I had the sirloin tapa which was actually good. There were several items that weren't available on the menu (corned beef and tocino) which my friends wanted to order. The reason the staff gave us was they were doing inventory. It actually didn't make sense. The pancake and mango of another friend took eons to arrive. We later found out after following up that it was served to another guest who ordered later than us. Staff were in dire need of training. The music of White House is second to none. Their collection of chill out beach music is second to none on the island. There wasn't a song we didn't like in the hours and hours we stayed chilling in the hotel's beachfront. I especially liked their lychee mojito. Other friends liked their lime mojito. While their chaise lounges were pretty, they were not comfortable nor adjustable. I kept on slipping off it. A friend remedied that by sitting on a rolled beach towel. It was designed so that it could only remain on an upright position and you could not lie on your stomach to tan your back. The sofas that were arranged on their deck afforded a very good view of the sunset. Beach towels were provided albeit they were threadbare. The pool needs to be renovated and wasn't inviting at all. It seemed like it was a wading pool that was just carved out of the concrete flooring. Not an ounce of charm. It did nothing to enhance the frontage of the hotel. It really is a pity because the location of the hotel is very prime but management needs to train their restaurant and front desk staff (they could not give me a convincing explanation as to why our room was not ready at the designated check in time), repair leaks and hot water provision in the bathroom, add amenities a full length mirror in the bedroom, change their cheap complimentary toiletries, change and invest on better mattresses, make sure that housekeeping really checks on the quality of the beddings and make sure they were laundered properly.
Never again!
We stayed at the White House on a recommendation of a family friend. I will try to be as objective as possible with this review. Boracay is a lovely place and our experience at the White House left a sour taste in our mouth. Positives: LOCATION- located in Station 1, it's quieter and less busy than the other stations. POOL- Not all resorts / mini-hotels have pools, so when it's too hot to swim in the beach, it's perfect! Pool-side bar- although a bit dated and needing an upgrade, the poolside bar was well stocked. SERVICE- service from the front desk was average, but was really good from housekeeping, however was VERY POOR from MANAGEMENT-- i will explain later. TRANSPORT- They have a van that can provide transfers from the ferry terminal to the hotel. Negatives: NOISE: For the 5 mornings that we stayed, construction was going on next door-- which meant an early morning wake-up call at 7:30 from constant hammering! Even though we asked front desk to request a later start to this hammering, there was nothing done about it! Rooms next to the walking path to the beach / front desk is so noisy with staff talking / sweeping early in the morning- if you really want to stay here, do ask not to be on the ground floor rooms! BILLING: This hotel demands that the rooms be paid in FULL before checking-in, which I think is a bit of a trap- because if you found the hotel unsatisfactory there is no way of getting your refund! We paid for our bill in full prior to checking in as requested, but the night before our departure we were told that they made a mistake with our billing and that we had to pay for an extra person they didn't account for! And yes, this place is VERY STRICT when it comes to an extra person! It was an honest mistake, yes, but a mistake THEY made! The manager left the front office person Geli to handle the situation which she did well, but management NEVER spoke to us in person! We ended up paying for something we didn't budget for! ROOMS / AMENITIES: The beach front part of the hotel is OLD- it is as old as Boracay itself. This resort is an old-timer in Boracay which adds to its popularity- but there's no denying that it badly needs an UPGRADE! The decor is from the early 80's, the bathrooms are old, there is mold on the ceiling, the beds have old springs that swallow you like a giant marshmallow that our friends had to have theirs swapped (to an equally soft one) ! RULES: This hotel has strict rules and enforce it quite vigorously! As we were leaving (we were already in the van) - a housekeeping staff handed us a white sheet in a plastic bag with an invoice for $100 attached to it- I asked what it was and he said that the sheet was stained in Henna ink from someone's tattoo- (henna tattoos are common in Boracay). Fair enough there was a 'smudge' on the sheet- but $100 to launder / dry clean a flat sheet- C'mon! This was the breaking point for us- so we demanded the manager for an explanation- and over the phone he / she instructed the front office staff to let it go. Ridiculous! How many foreigners have fallen for this trap I wonder? MANAGEMENT: This place has a chronic problem with how it is being managed. Staff are being left to deal with issues that at times are beyond their control. Front office and housekeeping staff do their best to please guests, but there are things that management can do to actually PREVENT these things from happening. The construction noise for example- management should have known that the ground floor rooms would be directly affected by the noise- so instead of ignoring the problem and waiting for a guest complaint, how about pre-empting the issue and INFORMING the guest of a possible inconvenience and offer a solution, heck even a free drink would've made us happy! Simple things like the rooms not having enough towels, no hand towels, no bath mats- these are basic standard things that hotel management should know about by now. If the White House wants to have repeat customers they need to lift their game up ASAP! There are other equally priced, NEWER mini-hotels in Station 1 and that's where we're staying next time.
a good experience!
Whats important to us is the excellent customer service by the staff of the resort. they will assist you in all your needs from pick up from the boat station to the hotel and water attraction and best restaurant in the island. the lady manager is best in costumer service. the ambience of the resort is like home away from home! the price is reasonable and the have long beach front.
Great value, a hidden gem
We stayed at the White House beach resort per recommendation by my sister-in-law. We traveled by private car from Iloilo City to Caticlan, Kalibo for 5 hours. We took the Montenegro ferry for a 10 minute trip to Boracay Island. We were met at the pier by Ariel who drove us to the hotel on a golf cart. We were greeted by Connie at the lobby, serve cold orange juice and were checked-in immediately. Sine we arrived early, we went for a swim until the room was ready at 2 pm. Our had twin and king sized beds and very clean. The bathroom is spacious with clean shower area. The decors are spartan and the beds are comfortable. We have free a-la-carte breakfast every morning. The pool is small but clean. This being one of the best beaches of the world, Boracay never failed my expectations, the sand is white and fine as flour, the sunsets are inspirational and the Filipino hospitality is warm and world-class. The beach front is quiet and clean. Peddlers are everywhere which is common in a resort town. The pearls are abundant, reasonable and beautiful. Recreation is limited to water sports and you will have a handful of middlemen offering discounted services. Food is mostly Filipino comfort meals with few Middle eastern, Italian, American and Spanish cuisine. The water is safe to drink but we preferred distilled or natural spring water. The fruit shakes are the best and are made from real fruits. We would be happy to return, if we come this way.
disappointing
we had a disappointing 1 night stay at white house and then moved resorts. there were a number of factors:- broken hot water - which they knew about when they put us in the room but did not let on until i questioned it, no kitchen in one of the rooms as per our booking and correspondence, no bottled water available for each of us when we arrived late at night - hot and thirsty - and surly staff... and less important things that still add to the impression such as all the other resorts sweep the beachfront each morning but the morning we were there the white house beachfront looked messy with seaweed and debris from the storms and it was the only one that was not swept clean. the management and owners did their best to rectify the situation and offered us a free upgrade however the room they were offering was under refurbishment and looked like a building site. It was a shame that nothing could be done. we received a full refund and we saw a meeting being held with staff to sort the problems out. thankfully we found a better and cheaper place next door. It definitely makes me wonder about the other reviews on this site....
Its better than nothing
When we stayed in White House resort in Boracay. The first thing I said was " Its better than nothing ". Im not saying im not impressed nor happy but it's an average place. If you are carrying heavy luggages, just mind the steps going to your room. The bed was good and it has nice sheets. The bathroom was ok but the hot and cold shower is not working properly, so its a bit of a problem for those people who are not used of taking cold baths. The pool was very nice and during the afternoon when its hot, its nice to take a plunge. They also have a bar if you need some drinks. What I like most of the whitehouse was the small Huts they have facing the beach. It was so good and so relaxing. Thats where we always eat breakfast and relax during the afternoon. The beach in Station 1 where white house is located was also the best. Thats the place to sun bathe coz its so flat and white.
really bad service
Although the location of the hotel was really good, the service the staff gave was questionable. I don't think it's the staff itself - since they pretty much get the direction from management. in my mind, they should be properly staffed during new year; their kitchen to be properly stocked; and at least train their staff to greet the guests hi / hello when they see them. little things like that should not be overlooked. the food took forever - their kitchen is closed at some point - and if you leave the key at the receptionist, and they suddenly give it to the security guard, they charge you 50 bucks for it...
If it weren't for the location.
My sister and her family and I wanted took our Aunt with his American family to Boracay. We booked them a family room at the Two Seasons Hotel and we chose White house because it was just one resort apart from Two Seasons. Things we hated about the resort: 1. We had a 3 year old so it was important to have a pool. At times when the child got tired of the beach, she wanted to swim in the pool but it was not operational. 2. It was so difficult to lock our sliding doors. I had to lift the door a bit as it was not aligned, just to lock it. 3. The bathroom and room need refurbishing. For 5k a night, we expected more from this hotel. 4. Service was not good at all. They took our meal orders the night before but they were confused the next day, gave wrong orders. Food wasn't good either. 5. Apparently, the beds were not clean. They looked and smelled clean but I had about 3 clusters of bed bug bites on the 2nd night. It could not have been mosquito bites. They were different and until now I have the scars. The only thing we liked about the place is the location. Nothing beats Station 1. And maybe the huts too, where we took our breakfast and hung out in the afternoon.
