Some people shouldn't work the front
We love staying at Hampton Inns and always have a great experience!!! We had a rude start to this trip by checking in with Abdoul. He didn't welcome us in, he was very short and rude as we were checking in and started off the stay annoyed. My family I met there said they had to same experience. We were having an event in their conference room the next day so we just asked if we could check it out and it seemed like it was asking him to move mountains. We dreaded the next day at 3pm when he came on the clock to work because we knew it was going to be the same attitude. I simply informed him the women's restroom was out of toilet paper, he blank stares at me and says " okay ".. 3 hrs later, same bathroom, no toilet paper. Needless to say, this man should not be running the front of an otherwise great hotel! All other staff from kitchen to cleaning was amazing!!
New Hampton Inn Some Issues
We stayed two nights at this Hampton Hotel. We are not fond of the Hampton Hotels but due to circumstances beyond our control we stayed here with family for a Family Celebration. It looks like a very new hotel. Very modern looking. The public areas appeared clean. Abdul at the desk was very helpful. The front desk staff was also quite good. We did have an issue with housekeeping services. There was a note with our key cards that housekeeping is done every 5 days. However, if you request either the night before or the day of, they will have housekeeping provide service to your room. We requested it the night before. When we left the next morning for our Family Celebration and returned at 3:30 nothing had been done. We went to the front desk and was told we were on the list but they had not reached our room yet. We went out again and when we returned at 8:30pm it had not be done. Please don't tell me to do something which I do and then not do your part. This is not acceptable. If I didn't want the room serviced I wouldn't have asked. I personally had two issues with the room. The toilet was so low a midget would have been happy and the bed was so high that unless you were at least 5'10 " it was almost impossible to get into the bed. I am 5'1 " tall. I actually injured my back trying to get into bed. If you don't mind the toilet and bed issues it is an acceptable Hampton Inn. Personally, I could not stay there again.
Great Stay at Hampton Inn
My sister and I enjoyed our stay at Hampton Inn while in Michigan for a funeral. The hotel is only about a year old. The hotel is very nice. All staff encountered were friendly and helpful. The room was very nice with touches like a roll up screen which controlled sunlight coming into the room. The room also had a large smart tv, pleasant touches in the bathroom, and a microwave and refrigerator. A room safe would be a nice addition to the room. Also availability of beer and wine would be nice. The included breakfast was good, with a wide variety of food to choose from. I visit Detroit several times a year and usually choose higher end hotels. I can honestly say this hotel was better than any of the many I've stayed at in Detroit.
Unreliable - Bad Partner - Pick a better place
A clean hotel but not a safe place to make a reservation. Will give your room away and leave you stuck in the rain. Avoid at all costs. Gave me the run around for over an hour no help from desk no help from Hilton Honors. Will dump you off to international (lack of) customer service until you give up. Terrible. Horrible.
Great Stay at Hampton Inn by Hilton Detroit Southfield
During a recent trip to Detroit, we had the pleasure of staying at the Hampton Inn by Hilton Detroit Southfield, and I must say, it was a pleasant surprise. Pros: Brand New Property: The hotel feels very new, which added a fresh and modern vibe to my stay. Although there is still some construction happening next door, it did not detract from my experience in any way. The check-In process was seamless, quick, and efficient, making my arrival after a long day of travel much easier. Friendly and welcoming staff. Well-Lit and Cozy Lobby: The lobby area was both comfortable and well-lit, providing a warm welcome each time we entered the hotel. Our room was not only spacious but also very comfortable, equipped with all the necessary amenities to make my stay as pleasant as possible. It was clear that attention to detail is a priority here. Cons: I genuinely cannot list any cons as my stay was thoroughly enjoyable without any issues. Great stay at the Hampton Inn by Hilton Detroit Southfield. Highly Recommended!
Impeccably clean and comfortable
Exceptionally clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and professional. Breakfast was ample and delicious. The common areas were very clean. There was 24-hour coffee and tea service. The beds were very comfortable.
Nuevo, funcional y muy cómodo
Es un hotel nuevo, ubicado junto al cruce de autopistas, limpio y muy funcional. Las habitaciones son modernas, silenciosas, con camas cómodas y grandes. El único pero es que a la ducha le faltaba un poco de potencia. El desayuno completo y correcto.
Great value for a business overnight
Pros: -Friendly and knowledgeable staff -New facility, modern design and layout, new bedding, towels, everything. -Well lit, business neighbor, convenient access to M-10 Cons: -No way to turn AC / Heat fan to " on ", bring your own noise maker -8 Pillows are 8 different levels of complete mush, bring your own pillow if you like firm.
Don't book here or let the newness fool you!
I was traveling on business and heard about this new property and was excited to stay. I will keep this short and to the point as the pictures say it all. Pros: convenient location, new hotel, and modern decor. CONS: The sheets were absolutely disgusting with blood stains left and absolutely no apology or ownership taken by the front desk when I immediately checked out; there was a security team being " briefed " during my check in process that I later observed walked the halls at night as if something has happened to cause them to pay for security that they aren't telling you; and the police were on site when I pulled up to check-in. The fact that the front desk associate only responded to the picture I showed him of the blood stained sheets by saying " That's impossible. " baffles me. He took a picture of my picture and I said you can walk up there and see it for yourself if you like, the room is yours. He never once tried to offer me another room, Hilton points, a discount, or even a simple apology put the icing on the cake for me. He simply checked me out of room 301 and said have a nice day. Ha!!! As a business traveler, I'm pretty flexible and have stayed in 3 star to 5 star hotels. I have also had a great experience with Hilton overall. Butttt this was a HARD NO! I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Excellent Breakfast
Very clean and new property with an excellent breakfast. Bed was comfortable and refrigerator was clean. Pool was nice as well and ice machines conveniently located. NOTE: There was a hefty $150 upfront incidental fee assessed (in addition to your room fee and taxes) upon check-in that we were not aware of until we arrived. We did use a credit card for our stay and not a debit card so uncertain why the fee was so large; $50 is more reasonable. This should be made clear when booking through Hilton.com.
