Okay stay
The tub kept stopping up. there was a roach in the bathroom, and the sheets made us itch. Maybe too much bleaching in the linen. The assistant manager was nice, but told me there were no roaches in Michigan. Oh, I guess the last person brought them there. breakfast was good
Comfort Suites Southfield
Comfort Suites Southfield was amazing. We had a great experience from the time we check in until we left. The rooms were huge, and very nice. Wish we could've stayed longer. The hotel is a good location.
Hockey Tournament
Hotel is ok. location was convenient for access to highways to get to the hockey rinks. Breakfast was ok, not many healthy options but the hotel did help the hockey team out by putting breakfast out earlier on Saturday morning which was very helpful.
Worst hotel I have ever stayed in!
This was the worst hotel that I have ever stayed in! Not sure where to start, but I'll start with the dirty room. The room was never cleaned from the last guest, as there were greasy marks on the desk and night stand from someone's food that stayed there before me. I saw a smashed bug on the wall above the desk and a bedbug / cockroach (not sure, but I got pictures of it) in the tub the last day I was there. There was a red stain in the shower on the wall, and the same stain running down the side of the tub. The back of the bathroom door was covered in white stains, I don't even want to think about what that was! I was given room 318 which right across from the elevator, so I got to listen to the door ding and people coming and going all night. This wasn't as loud as the freeway traffic that I had to drown out with the bathroom fan so I could sleep. Also, the doors don't close right and you have to slam them or else they don't latch, so I was awakened most of the nights when people entered their rooms and slammed their doors at 2AM. The mattresses was hard and worn out, so my back was hurting after day two. My key cards quit working after the third day, so I went down to the front desk and had to wait for about 7-8 minutes for someone to actually show up to ask what I needed. The water pressure was horrible, and you cannot get a good shower. I was actually cold after getting out of the shower because the water was barely a trickle. I looked at the faucet and shower head, and it looks like the owners installed low-flow fixtures to keep their cost down at the guests expense. My room reeked like Lysol when I first got there, and it was overpowering for the first day, but dissipated after day two. I had high hopes since this is the highest rated hotel in Southfield on trip advisor, but my experience was horrible. I suggest that the owners actually stay in room 318 for a week to see what their guests experience.
Comfortable room
Though the hotel is quite near a major highway, the room was relatively quiet (though I always request rooms away from elevators and ice machines). The room itself, a suite, was adequate for this level of hotel, and will be my domicile weekly for the next several weeks.
Excellent Staff & Hotel
My wife and I just stayed here for the second time this year. The hotel is very clean and is kept in excellent condition. The pool is very nice, and the staff is always helpful and friendly- day or night. The GM is kind and helpful, and he went out of his way to make us feel welcome. The included hot continental breakfast offers a nice variety that has something for everyone. Hope to stay here again!
" Exceptional Value "
My wife have just returned from our second visit in 2 months from this hotel. Both times were very enjoyable. The rooms are clean, spacious and beds extremely comfortable. Pool is clean and inviting. Staff was on both occassions day or night very helpful and friendly. The GM is warm and friendly as well as well as very attuned to the needs of his guests. We would definetly stay here again whenever we are in the southfield area.

Worst hotel I've ever stayed in!!! 1:45 in the morning and There's non stop banging. People in and out of rooms. Yelling in the hallway. Kids screaming and running up and down the hallway. Couldn't enjoy the pool because there was like 20 kids in the pool. Halls smell like weed. Watched. the security guard walk down the hall on his phone and not do nothing about the noise or people. Terrible terrible place to stay!!!!
Good value, clean room
We stayed at this hotel while my husband conferred with a doctor nearby. The front desk clerks greeted us in a friendly manner. Our room had a comfortable king bed, frig, and micro. It was very roomy and appeared clean. We were there on a Sunday night. It was very quiet. We did not go to the pool. The morning breakfast was just fine. We did not eat much, but it looked hot and good. We would stay again if necessary.
Excellent value
I've stayed here several times now, and have always been pleased. The rooms are clean, spacious, nicely appointed (new Panasonic flat screen TV), and has comfortable beds. Much nicer than some hotels that are twice the price; very hard to find a better value, especially in the area.
perfect location
Unpretentious, friendly and clean. I always stay here since it's near my sisters' homes and it's right off the Lodge Freeway (I-10). And the prices are reasonable. For travelers who want access to the city but don;'t want to pay exorbitant hotel prices this is the perfect option.
Friendly service, convenient location
Great location and the staff has been very helpful in making repeat stays. Whenever I called the manager and desk personnel quickly recognized me and processed my request right away. One time, when they were completely booked due to the World Series, they helped me make a reservation at another hotel. Amazing!
Pretty good
Nice hotel in convenient location. No complaints except for a few housekeeping issues: obvious stains on sheets, stains on carpet, and hair dryer not working. Front desk was quick to take action. Would stay again.
awful!
NEVER EVER stay here. This place evicted a whole floor because of one room, and refused to give us a refund even though we were kicked out at 3 am. we didn't even get to enjoy any time there. and the manager was the rudest person ever, and shouldn't be allowed to work near customers. they refused to answer any questions. I will never recommend this place to anyone. Plus the rooms were not even clean before we got there.
Return visit
We had stayed here a few years ago and had some trouble with accomodations. I needed to book a room with handicapped ammenities for my ailing Mother who was travelling and remembered this property had what I was needing to see to her comfort. The staff here was more than accomodating, adjoining rooms for my Mom and my family with her handicap accessible room more than meeting her needs. If we had any needs, the staff was right on it and had recommendations for any services we needed such as local laundromats and cleaning services. My only let down was that the spa in the pool area was in need of some servicing, and unfortunately due to a large group in over the weekend, the pool was short on towels. Staff did come to the rescue by providing bath towels so we could dry off. i would stay here again when travelling with or without the accessibilities issues.
Clean, Quiet, and Comfortable
Pros-Quiet; clean, well-appointed rooms / suites; great tv and selection of channels (love the channel guide that's up to date), heating / cooling units quiet and easy to control; spare clothesline in the bathroom for hanging up wet clothes. Cons-internet not reliable and inconvenient (had to log in every time the internet went out or lost connectivity which was frequent) ; breakfast had adequate selections but those eggs were pretty tasteless, work-out room tv not working. I chose this hotel based on the rate as well as ratings on Trip Advisor. The staff was friendly and helpful, rooms quite comfortable, and it was easy to find and close to where I was working. The real disappointment for me was the internet. While it was free, it lost connection frequently (several times during an hour) and that required you to log in again each time. Overall I'd recommend this unit and would stay there again, just wiser about the internet and probably eat breakfast out (Tim Horton's is just down the road!).
fathers day
i had stayed at this hotel for one night but wished i had stayed for two this way a great hotel, rooms were very large and clean. front dest was great. really enjoyed my stay and will defentaly stay at this hotel again
Clean, up-to-date and a good breakfast
The room was large, clean, and well-decorated. The bathroom was clean and nicely-sized, fixtures worked well. Desk with wired internet was very useful. Staff was friendly. Breakfast had good variety. Location great--close to Lawrence Tech and the expressway. Only downside was noise from the room above and a noisy hall at 5am.
Evicted everyone on the floor beacuse of one room
My group was kicked out at 4am because the room next to us was loud and smelled like pot. They kicked out everyone on that side of that floor. I tried to reason with the night time manager and the GM later that day that they accused the wrong room. We were forced to leave with no refund at 4:30am.
Nice hotel..... but very noisy!!!
I have stayed in alot of hotels over the years. There have been good ones and bad ones. The hotel was nice and the guest service agents were very friendly. The rooms are spacious and well kept (the one is was in was). My special requests were accomadated and I was pleased with that. My only complaint would be the amount of noise that was heard in the hallways and from the rooms. The guest next door were loud enough that I was able to hear their whole conversations clearly through the walls. I did call down to the front desk and spoke to the staff member on duty about it, but it didnt help!!! The housekeeping staff were very friendly!!!! I didn't expect the amount that amount of noise to be heard during the week. It's more expected on the weekends. One suggestion, HAVE SOMEONE ADJUST THE ROOM DOORS SO THEY DON'T SLAM SHUT!!! That is the most annoying thing to hear when your trying to get some sleep or get work done from the room!!! But in all, my stay there was good!!!!
You can get more bang for your buck some where else
I was recently in Detroit for a family function. Most of my family stayed in this hotel. It was deplorable. There were issues regarding odors in the fitness room, water leakage from the pool in rooms on ground level, puddles of water on the elevator, people partying loudly at the pool, and stained carpet and furniture. The breakfast was so bad it was inedible. If crummy hotels are your thing, this place will make you feel right at home.

My name is Charles E Rachel and I recently joined the awards program, CER07292. I have been staying at Choice Hotels for over 10 years. This is the best of your hotels that I have ever stayed in. I have traveled all over the USA and stayed at many more expensive hotels but none of them were more comfortable than this hotel. I will be telling all my friends and recommending this hotel to them.
BEDBUGS
Checked in due to bad weather and the westin was too expensive. Was there for no more than 3 hours when I woke up from a nap to find bedbugs in bed with me. I did a check before I got comfy but I clearly didn't do it thoroughly. Brought down 2 for the front desk to see. They offered me another room but I opted for a refund. Had to bag and dispose of my clothing except for what I had on (I quickly went to meijer for something and disposed of what I had on). Never thought that would happen to me. Oh it was room 202.
Party hotel: Excessive visitors rule the weekends
The staff is very nice, the rooms are too, with only minor repairs needed here and there. We had a good weeknight stay, but everything changed at Friday check-in. Locals who wanted to party invited so many visitors that the pool and spa were jam-packed all weekend from an hour after opening to an hour before close, when the majority of them left for the parking lot, clearing out 5-6 cars at a time which never returned. Others had very loud parties in the room, and the soundproofing is poor-- but they were so loud, every word was heard distinctly in from the hallway and the unchecked screaming and shouting gave me concern that I had booked a safe hotel. (I had neglected to notice the bulletproof glass and the need to buzz-in if you wanted to come through the front door after hours....) A call to the desk did quiet this, and the parking lot emptied again, but the safety concerns remained as the guests expressed their hostility toward me the next day. The staff couldn't keep up with breakfast on Sunday and the trays were not refilled. The pool was closed-down on Sunday.. with all the people who'd been there and the couple who decided to use the whrilpool for erotic pleasure and display, I wasn't too surprised-- but at least the management is right on top of cleaning it up for the Monday business traveler....
Excellent
We just returned from a weeks stay at the Comfort Inn Suites in Southfield, Michigan. This hotel is beautiful and the stay was very pleasant! The rooms were very large, very clean and very comfortable. We felt very welcomed upon arrival, as the staff was extremely friendly. I often observed the owner interacting with her guest, ensuring that everything was just right. One of the staff members even hand wrote directions to a nearby Italian restaurant (that's going the extra mile) ! The hotel was very busy this week..... a church convention and two family reunions. Never once was the service hendered or the upkeep of the hotel let go because of it. I was truly impressed. We will definately recommend your hotel to others. My son truly enjoyed the pool and I must admit.... I enjoyed the jacuzzi. Thanks for making our stay so tranquil.
Great price, location and size
This hotel was an excellent choice for my family of 5. The rooms were large and the beds were big and comfortable. We also had a pull-out couch so there was plenty of room. The breakfast was good and had belgian waffles. The staff was friendly and handled any issues we had professionally. It was only about a 15 - 20 minute drive to downtown Detroit and was close to restaurants and shopping in Farmington. The only complaints we had were that the pool was too cold (but very clean) and the bathroom wasn't as clean as we would have liked (one of the days we were there). We will definitely be staying here next year when in Detroit.
Management was awesome!
The hotel was clean and new. The Suite had tons of floor space. It was actually more space than one person needs. Everything was clean. Breakfast was well stocked but skimpy for someone staying away from carbs. Pool was cold but very clean and nice. The Workout room was nice. The best part was the Managment. I can't say enough about them. Very professional.
Great rooms at a great price!
Stayed here for 4 nights in March while attending a class in the office building next door. Was very convenient, as I could walk across the parking lot instead of driving to class. Nice oversized rooms with loveseat, desk, fridge, microwave and coffee pot, as well as free internet access in the room. They even provide ethernet cables for you! Good continental breakfast each morning, including the belgian waffles you make yourself. Staff was very friendly and accommodating!
