Perfect hotel for a Boracay getaway 🤩

Highly recommended!!! The best customer service ever; staff were all friendly and accommodating; they would really go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. Food and amenities are awesome too. Great choice for a fantastic Bora experience. Hats off to your whole team 😀

The best to stay

One more time, we spent a few weeks in the Mandarin Island Hotel in Boracay, as we do every year. Just to say it is really the top overall: staff, service, kindness and location. Excellence is the mantra. We highly recommend to stay there for a super successful stay in Boracay. Gloria and Pascal, between Switzerland and Philippines.

Kommen gerne wieder

Sehr freundliches, zuvorkommendes Personal, gut ausgestattete Zimmer, sehr gutes Frühstück.

Best value for money hotel in Boracay

This hotel sits at the heart of Boracay station 2 where most of the good restaurant and bars are. As soon as you arrive in Caticlan, their hotel pick-up service is very efficient and very quick. Less than 30 minutes from airport to the hotel lobby. They have a decent sized pool and their food is excellent. They also have an acoustic band that plays at the restaurant area everyday so it never gets lonely there. The rooms are very clean and very spacious for their price range. The staff are really friendly and very accomodating. Special mention to Israel, Lyle, Sistine, Maricar, and Rica, who really went out of their way to make my stay more enjoyable.

Like a Paradise

Staff are pleasant and cooperative. Cleanliness is very high and furniture style is modern and great. Location is terrific in front of the beach. Live music every day during dinner. Would have preferred to have umbrellas and beach chaise longues. The hotel provides Matt's though.

2024-03-31 00:04:32

Good food. Friendly staff

The food is great. Must try is the longganisa pizza. Dough is freshly made upon order. Good thing that there is a swimming pool. When the kids get bored in the beach, they can swim in the pool. There is a life guard on duty so you will not get worry about your kids.

Excellent service, lovely hotel and staff

Recently stayed at the Mandarin Island Hotel Boracay for 5 nights. We had been let down by another hotel and saw this one while walking along the beachfront. They were very accommodating for us and found us a superior room on the 2nd floor overlooking the pool with a sea view. The staff were very friendly, polite and extremely helpful. We had breakfast there every day which was always plentiful with lots of choice and generally would have something to eat & drink at lunchtime. In the evenings we would venture out then comeback to listen to the live music which was on every night. The room we had was very spacious and comfortable and spotlessly clean. Towels were exchanged daily and pool towels and beach mats were provided for the beach. On our last day they arranged a private transfer for us back to the airport and allowed us an extra few hours in the hotel room while we were getting ready to leave. All in all, they really made our stay a wonderful experience and I would thoroughly recommend them.

Wonderful experience

Everything was perfect from our arrival down to our departure. Special mention to Israel, the guest relations manager who made sure everything was smooth during our stay. We were welcomed and greeted by staff wearing smiles on their faces at all times. The room was clean, sheets were fresh and food was good. A special complimentary arrangement was done for us since ir is our honeymoon. Will definitely go back! Thank you for the wonderful experience! It was beyond our expectations!

Bora at its Best

The employees, from the information desk to the restaurant staff are all accommodating, and respectful. A culture well established. The location is excellent since it's beachfront, with well maintained swimming pool. they made our stay at Bora more memorable!

best hotel !!

We felt welcomed as soon as we arrived the hotel. When we first arrived we were given welcoming drinks and cold towels to cool us off from the heat. Our rooms were also very clean and neat. Once we needed our rooms freshened up they would immediately get them cleaned up once we were out. Till the end of our stay the staff were nothing but nice and welcoming.

Sort of disappointed

Stayed here for 2 nights. It was great till it wasn't. The good: Situated on the prime location of Station 2 close to D Mall. Easily accessible to a lot of things. The room is clean and tidy. Check in receptionists were great helpful and went smooth, lots of rules which I can understand and I appreciate the tight strict security. Good entertainment at night. Good transportation to the port. I appreciate the old architecture and boutique feeling of the hotel. The reason I chose it vs Hennan Palm Beach. The bad: Upon checking in while I was waiting for a room, I went to the front just to take a couple of pics in the front of the hotel. As I was walking in back to the front desk I was stopped by the security and it made me felt I did something wrong or I'm not supposed to be there.. I told him I was waiting for the room to get ready and the demeanor changed a lot. PROPER approach is everything. It caught me off guard. WiFi is weak. Works 50% of the time. You're better off using your data or a prepaid e-sim if you're traveling. Most of the time I'm kicked off WiFi. Door alarms. The door won't properly shut. You have to kinda give it a good push or just slam it to lock properly otherwise the alarm goes off constantly. It's a nuisance. Ants Lastly, when I checked out I was asked where the 2 missing water glasses were. I looked at them blanked cause I was confused about what was that all about? Like they would charge me if they can't find it. During the 2 nights I stayed there I did not touch the coffee mugs, the glasses that were supposed to be missing and the coffee stuff they have in the room. I only used and drank those 2 bottles of water that came with the room on the first day I arrived. This REALLY left a bad taste in my mouth. Verdict. I've stayed at a 5 star hotels before and this is nowhere near that. 3 stars at best. I did leave a tip as a courtesy but this is my honest experience of this hotel.

Very nice hotel luxury feels

Ganda ng hotel pang 5star, lalo na ang kwarto nagulat kami, very comfy ang bed at malaki ang room, very luxury feels pero good ang price. The staffs are very accomodating, pag may kelangan ka you dont need to hesitate na mag ask kasi mababait sila.

Great Stay at Mandarin Island Hotel

Our stay was great! The staff are very accommodating from airport to frontdesk. I also feel secured specially I am with my family. We also arrived very early due to flight schedule but they made an effort for us to be checked in early. Overall it was a great experience 😉

Satisfied guest!

Room was great and everyone was very accommodating, especially sir june from the front desk and ms exczelene from don vito's restau. To sum it all up, we are highly satisfied with our room and the service we recieved. Furthermore, We have tried other hotels before in boracay, but mandarin hotel is probably one of the Best if not the best.

Perfect stay, perfect location

Very comfortable hotel with super friendly and helpful staff. If we come back to this area, we'll book the same hotel for sure. Only tip for improvement- our neighbors were very loud, maybe some etiquette tips in the rooms would help. The location made up for everything, what breathtaking views.

2024-01-22 05:57:02

Busy but good central beach location

Great hotel with restaurant on Station 2 Most slick transfer to and from a hotel we have ever experienced Pool great and never busy, although not in the sun + only 2 useable seats (not an issue for me) Breakfast good for Asia Staff very welcoming Bust location but stations 1 and 3 quieter. No issue with noise in room

2024-01-14 17:25:09

Very satisfied with the service

Good hotel service and the staffs are very accomodating. We were welcomed with a drink and cold towel. The rooms are clean and cozy. One of the best hotels in Boracay! It's a beachfront hotel where you can enjoy your breakfast with view. Will be back soon.

Great hotel and location

Could not fault the hotel. The staff were friendly, the room was clean and the beds and pillows were really comfortable. We had a slight issue with the room and the staff were onto it straight away and moved us to another room with no issues at all. Location is fantastic in station 2 right on the beach with some really nice views if you are on the second or third level. I would stay here again if I was to come back to Boracay.

2024-01-11 21:57:46

We will be sure to visit again

Excellent service and amenities. The staff were quite helpful and were always courteous. The food was satisfying as well and had a wide selection which catered to both adults and young children. Price point is reasonable and we were able to get our money's worth.

2024-01-10 02:32:12

Good but with cockroaches

We booked 2 rooms but during the first night one of the rooms had cockroach a big one! Then on the 2nd day the other room also had cockroaches (2 of them). TV wasn't working on both rooms to think we had the grand pool room its not like a standard room we didnt mind it as we were out all the time but at night it was nice to have the tv working. Staff we're really accommodating but the property needs to have a renovation. I work in the tourism industry and a 5 star hotel doesnt look like that and doesn't have cockroaches.

Amazing stay, as every year !

We spent 2 weeks at Mandarin Island, where we go every year between December and January. The best to choose in Boracay considering the location, the super professional and friendly staff, impeccable service and atmosphere. More than a hotel, Mandarin Island is a cosy place where you feel really at home. Highly recommended, we book next April for the end of 2024 without hesitation. Gloria & Pascal, Philippines & Switzerland.

First Class Hotel Service !

We stayed at this hotel for five nights and had a great time. The room was fine, and we even got an upgrade ! Breakfast was excellent and there was very good live music entertainment in house. What made this hotel very special was the exceptional service provided by Israel, the Guest Relations Manager. I have traveled extensively over many years staying in first class hotels, but I have never been more impressed than with him. Nothing was too much trouble and he ensured we had a fabulous stay here. Well done !

2024-01-03 21:47:02

Amazing place in paradise

Great and excellent service and amazing place to stay! You can eat breakfast with a fantastic view. The location is perfect because you are close to everything around. Not only to the mall but to fresh sea foods of your choosing where you can decide on how want your food to be cooked! When I organized the transport service for my girlfriend, I requested that I go with them to pick her up and there was no problem and no extra charge, amazing!

2024-01-01 09:52:48

Worth remembering and recommending

We really had a great time during our stay in Mandarin premier resort. They were very accommodating, highly quality services and we felt at home in our 4days stay. The personnel were so kind especially the their GM.

2019-01-27 01:45:14

I found my new home in Boracay!

The rooms are clean and beautiful. The staff are very responsive to requests. The hotel is eco-friendly and they provide water to guests in glass bottles. They don't use plastic straws but metal straws. What got me with this hotel is a feel of community. The staff are warm, and the place itself feels open. The beach front has a restaurant but once you go in there is a nice pool. At night they have an excellent band that plays untils about 11pm, you can hear the music in your room and it gives a nice ambiance. I came here for business, and the music makes me relaxed even though I'm working. The music doesn't bother me at all, but if you want a sterile kind of silence, you might not want to enjoy it. I plan to bring my family here next time. The place is kid-friendly and they have a spa too.

Great stay

We stayed in Mandarin Boracay after the reopening of the island. Despite all the renovations around the area, our stay at the hotel was fantastic. They really took good care of us. The moment we arrived they offered us refreshments right away. The staff were very courteous and helpful. The room we stayed in was very spacious. On our first night when we came back from dinner, there was a big leak in the bathroom and it was all flooded, almost flooding the entrance of the room too. We called the front desk and they took care of it right away. We left to give them time to clean it so we had a drink at their restaurant. We came back around half an hour later and the room was spotless, I wouldn't even think that there was flooding earlier. The only thing that could improve is the pool area. There are only a few pool lounge chairs, and when it was afternoon they put away most of the pool chairs to make way for more tables for the restaurant. Overall I loved our stay at Mandarin Boracay.

2018-10-30 02:22:19

Amazing hotel in boracay

It's my 3rd time to stay in this hotel, I was here before boracay closed, and after boracay opened I cam here within 2 days, the hotel totally refurbished. Its totally different the rooms, it's became nicer, even before it was nice, but now the full hotel looks newer. I like this hotel from before, staff friendly, and service are great, including there food and restaurants.

2018-10-29 08:32:55

Birthday blast

Since our group make it a point to travel every year to different countries and different places in the Philippines. We shall encourage our other friends to visit Boracay Mandarin so they can also experience and enjoy their vacation too..

Great location, clean and staff were excellent

Originally booked another hotel but decided to walk around and look at other hotels when I found this place it had very clean rooms, nice pool and friendly staff. I decided to move to this hotel. I suggest to book online the price was significantly less and I got a room facing the pool, see pic from my bed. Location was on the beach and they carried all the bags and arranged the minibus and boat trip back to the airport. It was a great experience and I will stay there again.

2017-07-09 22:09:28

Nice location along White Beach

We chose the premier sea view room but there isn't much of a sea view since the room was on the inside of the hotel. But this is a blessing as rooms nearer to the beach are subjected to loud music from the beachside bar until late at night. Overall, the hotel was nice and within our expectations. The rooms are a little dated but in good condition. The location was central and walking distance to almost everything in White Beach. The staff were friendly and helpful with all our requests. We got the hotel to arrange the transfer from Kalibo airport to the hotel and they arranged everything for us making the process seamless.

A pleasant welcome back.

Came here for the back 3 days of my trip in late Nov. and loved every second of it once again. I was here for a few days in November 2014 as well. It was very very nice of them to let me check in over 2 hours early and eliminate the gap I had between checking out of the prior hotel in was in and checking in with them. Visited the breakfast buffet early every morning and got some great food to kickstart my day. Staff was wonderful in the dining area and beachside area as well from drinks to umbrella help. Ate outside beachside at the restaurant 2 nights and it was really good once again, glad that aspect hasn't changed. The room poolside was awesome and I love the king size bed, being a tall guy it's a nice comfort to have. I'm really glad I chose to stay here again, the beachside area is great and next time I come, (hopefully same time this year) I can stay here once again. 3rd time's the charm they say.

Fantastic place to stay in Boracay!

I wrote a complete review about my stay at the Boracay Mandarin Island Hotel here: http:// quarterlifewanderings.com/2015 / 03 / 09 / boracay-mandarin-island-hotel-review / Staff are extremely warm and welcoming - helped us out when I made an error on my booking and were very kind during the whole process. They waited over 2 hours for us when our plane was diverted from Caticlan to Kalibo and transported us to and from the airport. While airport transfer isn't free, I would highly recommend it, as I have no idea how we would have managed to get a boat to Boracay island and a van to where the hotel was. (Yes, I know there is a public ferry, but that is all I know!) Place was clean, comfortable, and the private beach was wonderful! Breakfast was hit or miss - make sure to get there early, otherwise they do run out of food. We went over CNY, so it wasn't too crowded and I honestly preferred Station 2 over the others. Like I said, check out my full review, but I definitely would stay here again! Already planning my next trip. :)

Nice centered beachfront spot

Stayed at the Mandarin on 11 / 5 thru 11 / 7 and I couldn't have been happier with my stay there. The staff were excellent to me the entire time, very attentive, friendly and helpful. I was writing in my travel journal listening to music in the dining area after hours one night and everyone was so friendly to me taking time out to have a brief conversation and show genuine interest in me as a guest. Felt nice and was a nice touch. Loved the poolside room I had, it was beautiful, with a huge bed and big bath and shower area. The beach was right there a short walk out to the front of the hotel and there it is, maybe a minute if even that, to get there. I can say there is a good amount of beach chairs to be lazy in (20-30). When I was lounging by the beach taking it easy before the big freeze back East the staff made sure I was taken care of for drinks or anything else I needed, even adjusting the umbrella's for everyone when the sun shifted later in the day. I also ate at the hotel restaurant for 2 nights and was well looked after with great service from multiple waiters / waitresses both nights with drinks and food, and thoroughly enjoyed my meal each time. I didn't really feel like I needed to go anywhere for anything. Loved the location here as it was central to most things. The place grew on me a little and even after I stayed at another hotel I came back to listen to the nightly entertainment here, the next time I come back this place would be my 1st choice to come stay at if it was available.

Nice Location at Station 2

I stayed there recommended by friends. It was truly nice. My favorite was the pool. it has a very good view of the rooms / hotels. We stayed at the pool side room, so access to the pool is very easy, we just open the door, here you go. :) At night while relaxing in the pool, there is a live-band performance at the entrance which plays nice songs. The location of the hotel was very convenient, walking distance to the restaurants and all the activities. We stayed there for 2 nights and we really enjoyed our stay. Oh yes the Halloween Decoration at the hotel was superb.

Beachfront, Pool for the kids, Centrally located

Location - Beach front property. Right smack in the center of everything. It is just a short walk to d'mall. Food choices is bountiful. Mc Donalds is close by for the kiddos who are picky eaters. Room - Clean & spacious. The a / c in our room made a clicking sound that may be disturbing to light sleepers. My sister didn't get a good nights sleep. Bathroom needs some modern amenities (in comparison with the competitors). Very strong water pressure. Service- Staff were very nice. They would always say " good morning or good afternoon " even in hallways. There is complimentary wifi and a free packet of sunscreen - nice!

Отдых на о. Боракай

классный островок, но только многолюдный. ночью тусовки, тихо утром и днем:) есть большой рыбный рынок, можно самим там приготовить или чтобы тебе приготовили... есть несколько пляжей разных красивых, но диких...

Lovely hotel with great staff and right on the gorgeous beach!

This hotel is a very lovely hotel to stay in. We had originally gone for 3 nights but as we got caught with the Typhoon Yolanda we had to stay an extra two nights. The hotel was lovely and right on the beach. I had stayed at the REgency before but I was glad I chose the Mandarin this time round. The service was exceptional from everyone. The girls at front desk, the staff at the restaurant right through to the transfers. The rooms were very nice and clean. My 2 year old daughter loved the pool especially as the last two nights we got assigned to the grand pool side room. Every day when the room was cleaned they made origami style with the towels which was just added that special touch. Lily Ng Po was exceptional as the GM.... she relieved a lot of stress from me as I couldn't contact my airline to rebook our flight after the storm. She had done this for us and even called my auntie to confirm she managed to do rebook our flight. as she couldn't get hold of me. Lily then made great effort to let us know and informed us personally at breakfast the day after. I had friends staying at other hotels and they were amazed how our hotel sorted everything out for me. I want to send my sincere thanks to you Lily and team! I have recommended this hotel to my entire family who will no doubt stay at the Mandarin in the future. Thanks Boracay Mandarin team! Lannette Manalo Murray

Great Place to Stay

It was our first time at Boracay and we picked to stay at the Mandarin Island Hotel, was not sure what to expect but when we got there we were made so welcome, All of the staff including the manager was so friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and we had great Ocean views from our Balcony, The rates were very reasonable compared to some of the othere, great location if you like to party. I would like to thank Lily and her staff for helping us with our 1 nights accommodation in Manila. Will be back in 2 years. Loved Boracay, its the place for total relaxation

Be warned!

I am rating the Boracay Mandarin Island Hotel with a 1 (really a zero) for the poorest customer service I have ever encountered in 40 years of traveling. My family and I were to stay at this hotel at a time of the year when typhoons are not supposed to occur (Dec 2015). However, a typhoon hit the day we were to fly to Boracay and all flights were cancelled. I contacted the hotel twice. The first time I was assured it would not be a problem cancelling the reservation. The second time I called, I was told my reservation could only be cancelled by the agency that made the reservation. So I called the agency which, in turn cancelled the reservation. So far so good, so I thought! After returning to the US, I contacted the hotel about a refund, since my hotel reservation had been cancelled. At this point, I was instructed to get the refund through the booking agency, which in turn called the hotel for approval for the refund. The hotel turned it down! This happened several times! After having turned down the booking agency's request for a refund, the hotel finally told me NO refund! They came up with the lamest excuse that it was my fault for not sending them the flight cancellation on the day the reservation was cancelled! This hotel WILL DO ANYTHING TO KEEP YOUR MONEY, including placing all the blame on you. Be forewarned!

Unkept and unfriendly

We went for a vacation with my family. My son who's diagnosed with Autism just turned 7 years old so we decided to have his birthday celebration in Boracay. My partner, who came just came home from New Jersey, viewed different hotels beforehand and we saw photos and reviews in Boracay Mandarin pleasant. So we booked months before, Jan 12-Jan 15, PREMIER SEA VIEW. We were very excited to stay with them. But to our dismay, this hotel disappointed us. First, we booked the sea view. Our view was the pool only. Second, the rooms were old already. Our bath tub was stained, the bathroom smelled like cigarettes (we didnt smoke) and the headboards of the bed were really smelly. Third, our aircon was letting out a smelly odor as well, it smelled as if it wasn't cleaned for a long time. Fourth, the cable TV was bad too. They had to change our digi box twice but still couldn't solve the problem. The channels were hanging, or turning off, saying there wasn't any signal. Lastly, staff personnel weren't friendly as well. The day we were checking out, they called and told us to be ready by 6:00 am since the Ati-Atihan Festival might cause traffic. So they told us that packed breakfast will be given to us. My son doesn't eat anything else during breakfast but cereals and milk because he has sensory issues with his mouth. He only eats crunchy or soft. I told them this and they said that they couldn't help us since they can only serve sandwiches. For cereals and milk?? They also didn't want to change our adult meals to rice and any meat. They couldn't adjust to our needs. When Southwest arrived to pick us up, no one called us to say that they were there already. We had to call. No one was going to help us with our luggage too if we didn't ask for help. We're really disappointed with our stay. We kept on passing by hotels where we could have booked with like Hennan which was close to their price. They need serious fixing. One star for making my son's birthday celebration uncomfy.

Boracay Mandarin Stay AWAY

It is very rare of me to post things either good or bad on any of these travel sites, but please if you're at all considering staying at the Boracay Mandarin Hotel read this review. This is one of the worst hotel experiences that I have every had in my life. I'll start by listing the incidents numerically. 1) The original " deluxe " room that they had a toilet that only partially flushed and eminated a horrendous stench every morning (smelled like the septic system was backing up). 2) The hotel is nowhere near complete, there is incessant loud construction noise every morning, the beautiful spa that is in their website is a total misreprentation, there was not spa functioning during my recent stay. The construction noise is extremely loud and despite my complaints, the staff did nothing about getting the workers to start at a reasonable time (after 9am). 3) There is very unscrupulous accounting used by their front desk. I was promised a rate of 175 US dollars which I trusted would be correctly converted into PHP, I signed my mastercard receipt without doing the conversion myself which was a big mistake, as they ended up charging me about 15% over the current exchange rate. 4) They accused my gf and I of staining all the duvet covers and pillow sheets with henna at checkout, which was a blatant lie, we couldln't even defend ourselves because they didn't tell us about it until they removed all the sheets from the room. (they essentially showed us stained sheets and told them it was from our room). It's sad that they would compromise the integrity of their hotel just to charge tourists a few extra dollars. I can go on and on about how miserable my stay there was, it's really sad that my vacaton on such a beautiful island was tainted by the unscrupulous business practices of one hotel. If you want to ask me any futher questions about my dealings with the mandarain boracay, please feel free to email me. s3jwang@gmail.com

Great Location, good service

Private transfer from the domestic airport / jetty is very useful and check in was brisk. Service staff are also helpful and courteous. We stayed in their Ambassador room during our trip and was mesmerized by the beautiful scenery over looking from our private balcony with the outdoor jacuzzi. Breakfast was great and we enjoyed their late night performance just outside the hotel. The sand on Boracay beach is really fine and is accompanied by the crystal clear sea water. One can truly enjoy the magnificent sunset and have little fish swimming pass your feet. We also visited the wet market which is walking distance from Mandarin where u can get great bargains on the wide selection of seafood and have the food stalls, cook it to your liking. We also went on the glass bottom boat which take you out into the sea where u get to feed the fish and do some snorkeling. Overall, my family had a memorable trip!

Terrible, just terrible

In case you think this has anything to do with the Mandarin hotel chain, you are sadly wrong. This Mandarin is more of an overpriced large B & B cum restaurant. The position is good if like being near bars, restaurants and the like in this area of Boracay. Unfortunately, the rooms overlook the swimming pool (you can see a glimpse of the beach if you stretch your neck), but also the Don Vito Restaurant, where, in addition to a mediocre breakfast, you will be able to enjoy live (or not) bad music until midnight. The poor soundproofing offered by the windows (which you will want to keep closed at all times, lest you be devoured by very hungry mosquitoes) ensures that you will not sleep until well into the night. One of the most striking features of this hotel is the complete lack of cleanliness anywhere. The rooms are filthy, the glasses and cups in your room are filthy, the dishes in the restaurant are filthy, the swimming pool is filthy. You won't have problems finding large cockroaches chilling in the corridors, fruit flies feasting on your overcooked pasta and other local small beasts hanging around. A good insect repellent is recommended for the whole duration of the stay. To clarify that the lack of hygiene must be unilateral, the management is keen to point out that you will be charged in case you are the one staining the linens. The rooms are designed to combine impracticality with unpleasantness. For example, the air conditioning flow is directed straight to your neck while you sleep (of course you can turn it off, if you don't mind waking up in a pool of sweat) and, if you sleep on the wrong side of the bed, you will need to get up and find the other side of the room in the darkness in order to turn on the light. You may easily give up on the slow wi-fi altogether, once you get tired of re-inputing your credentials and password manually every hour, a decision that will leave you plenty of time to discuss your stay with the concierge. You will be told invariably that your concerns will be taken seriously and they will most certainly " talk to management ". Unfortunately, you will have probably had to pay in advance and nothing will be fixed the day after. Or the one after that.

AMAZING STAFF, EXCELLENT FOOD, GREAT SERVICE, PERFECT LOCATION

My husband and I wanted to have a destination wedding. Our families and friends are from different parts of the world and we wanted a beautiful setting. Matt and I live in California, His family are from England, mine from the Philippines and we had friends coming from Thailand and US. We thought of amazing places to be but ultimately decided on Boracay. Couldn't have made a better choice with the vision we had in mind for our wedding and the reunion of families and friends. It is quite a challenge to plan for a wedding million miles away from you. So We had to look for a wedding package and we fortunately stumbled on Boracay Mandarin Island hotel. I was very lucky to work with Ms. Sharilyn Sy from Boracay Mandarin. I shared with her what my wishes are for the wedding, how i wanted the set up, the food, the flowers, the cake, and every little details. Arranged with her accomodations for all the families coming from different sides of the world, from airport transfers, boat rides and all travel necessities. I had a little bit of anxiety as I was planning all this miles away from the wedding venue. I had no other choice but put all my trust to the Boracay Mandarin Island Hotel. Anyways, the moment we stepped in Boracay Island, we were greeted by friendly and courteous staff members. The transition from the airport to the hotel consisting of van ride, to a boat ride and another hotel shuttle was smooth, efficient and comfortable. as soon as we arrived in the hotel, we were greeted to a lovely tropical drinks and a very warm welcome from the hotel staff. The night we arrived, we had a wedding rehearsal, and dinner at the Don Vito restaurant. We met up with the owner of the hotel who was so gracious and so generous with us. Full hands on with the wedding tomorrow. We had the deluxe room that night, and Lily the owner offered us a beautiful suite at the penthouse for a very minimal upgrade fee because in her words " we love to pamper our bride to be " I didnt have a wedding planner / coordinator as i was concern about my budget. but I was the luckiest bride as i had Lily (owner) and Shai (boracay wedding package manager (manila branch) shai, flew from manila to boracay just to ensure that things go well for the wedding. THis is for no fee at all. They did it in the goodness of their heart. Lily was saying " this is the Boracay Mandarin Way. " I had full hands on coordinating and managing from both. The staff were amazing as well. They were working at the beach wedding site till 2 am the night before the wedding in preparation for the big day. The big day was just magical. We had rain going in the morning but stopped in time for the wedding in the afternoon. the wedding went smoothly. The set up was beautiful and breathtaking. Not to mention the rainbow on the sky as the wedding was going, the perfect timing of sunset as the ceremony was over. In the words of my father in law and and families and friends who attended the wedding, they said " it was the most beautiful wedding they have ever seen " I couldn't have chosen a better wedding venue, a better hotel for my 12-12-12 wedding. Thank you to the Management and Staff of Boracay Mandarin Island Hotel. You guys are wonderful. Keep up the good work!! love, Matt and Joan

Our home in Boracay- vltan

We finally got our two-year old son's crocs today! The staff of Mandarin sent it via courier bec we left it at the hotel and realized that we did not pack it the day after our arrival in Manila. We are grateful for the efforts of Archie (housekeeping manager) and Marlyn (frontdesk staff). When we called, they went out of their way to search for it. This sealed our satisfaction and confirmed that we made the right decision in choosing the hotel for our stay last June 19-21. Other good points of Mandarin: 1. Seamless transfers- Since we were travelling with kids and would be coming from Kalibo Airport, it was important that the tranfers were seamless. When we arrived in Kalibo, a guy with whiteboard bearing our name directed us to the bus which was shared with guests of other hotels. It was clean but had an old smell to it and there was a problem with the suspension bec even if the road to Caticlan was paved, the ride was oh-so 'bouncy'. We were dizzy and my son vomitted. So on our trip back, we decided to hire a van. This was efficiently arranged by frontdesk c / o Yna. We paid an additional fee but it was worth it. Anyway, in Caticlan, a guy met and directed us to a van and took us the port where the mini speed boat was waitng. In Boracay, someone fetched and took us to the hotel. All these removed the burden of carrying our son and our luggage at the same time. 2. Restaurant / food- The buffet breakfast selection served at Don Vitto is not extensive but taste is generally ok. The serving of their a la carte food is good for 2pax. What we loved was the gelatto. Our faves-tiramisu and ferrero, but there is always a flavor for everyone's taste. I suggest that you reserve a table ifyou will have lunch there bec the place is often packed with tourists. 3. Room- We were given a room big enough to fit 2 single beds and one queen-sized bed. (I learned later on that these are otho beds). We could have slept without the other single bed but they ensured that we comfortable. The CR was equipped with amenities and bidet. Our room's viewwas a wall but it was alright bec it was at the back without the 'gimmick' noise at nightime. 4. Beach- The hotel is just a few steps away from the beach and towels can be requested from the guard or the attendant. Because there is a guard, you can lounge away securely. We slept by the beach for an hour or so. If we will go back to Boracay, we will definitely stay in Mandarin again. It is worth every penny.

Worth staying for its location

I stayed from the 18th May through the 21st May. Room was nice... Bed is very comfortable, balcony is a nice feature.. Breakfast was boring... A small incident happened at the restaurant during breakfast whereby a cockroach crawled along the table when I was having breakfast with my partner. Restaurant manager was notified and he just caught the cockroach and threw it away. Not satisfied with the after action, I informed the front office and filled up a guest survey form. Till date (31st May) no one came back to me... Good room and location but very bad management follow up or the lack of it.

與香港的Mandarin Oriental沒關係的Boracay Mandarin

Did not live upto expectations

Tall expectations of the hotel fell short miserably when we reached there. May be we expected more based on our previous beach vacations. The hotel boasts of so many things which arent there. The sea facing rooms are not sea facing, those are pool facing, the hotel doesnt have a sea facing room, if you have to get on the balcony and search for sea and in between the trees you'll see a bit of it. The staff (almost all) are good in saying (read singing) sorry for anything that you ask for. I wish someone asks the guests as to how do they feel staying there and hires staff who can help in a situation rather than singing sorry songs. A suite is not like a suite. They have wifi in the reception and not in the rooms, which is terrible and the speed sucks. Boracay as a place is beautiful with lovely beaches and clear water but this hotel did not live upto expectations. We will surely go back to Boracay but stay in a different hotel.

Disappointing Stay

The room was mediocre and the hotel was extremely cheap when it came to amenities. If you choose to stay at this hotel (which I would not recommend), I would not book any tours through them, as they doubled the price of the same tours being sold 100 feet away outside of the hotel. The only redeeming quality was that it was in a convenient location, though I recommend staying a little closer to Station 1. Overall, this hotel was not worth the price.

Terrible Day One... Hopeully The Sevice Will Improve During Day2-6 of our stay

I hope I will be able to write a more positive updated review at the end of our 6 day trip but I wanted to caution travelers about a few concerns. To start, I want to explain that I spend 30-60 days / year in hotels. I almost NEVER post criticisms but when I experience very frustrating problems that could impact other travelers I like to express my opinion. 1) The first thing for travelers to be aware of is that the " taxi service " cannot drop guests off at the hotel (the entrance to the hotel is on the beach). Therefore, you are dropped off approximately 300 metres from the hotel and you must carry / drag your luggage along the sand. The sand is about 2 inches deep and this can be very difficult for women. Surprisingly, the hotel does NOT explain this on their website. SOLUTION: IF you book transportation in ADVANCE from the hotel, this problem is solved because you are met at the Caticlan airport and chaperoned to the hotel (which includes taking two taxis and a ferry) 2) I do NOT recommend the Grand Poolside rooms. Although the access to the pool is good, it is EXTREMELY noisy at night. The pool area theoretically closes at 11:00pm but guests staying in other parts of the hotel " hang around " the pool until much later (last night until 3:00am). I think it is wiser to take a LESS expensive room in a quieter area. 3) Not surprisingly, there are lots of mosquitos and although the beds are equipped with mosquito nets, I recommend you bring repellant and a can of Baygon. I asked reception why they do not have a can of Baygon in each room and I was told my suggestion would be passed on to the manager The bottom line in my opinion is that I would expect much better service from a hotel charging $250. U. S. a nite. Perhaps my opinion will improve by Day 6. Assuming this review is approved by Trip Advisor, I will provide a follow up review at the end of our vacation.

My Stay @ Mandarin

Just returned from 11 days on the beautiful island of Boracay, 10 nights in a premier sea view room and 1 night in a poolside room at the Mandarin Hotel. Hotel location is excellent.. the beach is literally 50 yards from reception and has the benefit of their own dedicated sun beds, staff at the hotel were extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and well equipped, the only negative was.. i paid more for the poolside (ground floor) which when taking into consideration noise from returning " party goers " during the early hours and quality of room compared to the sea view (third floor) i was left feeling a little disappointed. That said, I would stay at the hotel again but on the basis that it was a premier sea view room for the entire stay. Transfer to and from cataclan airport can be arranged via the hotel for around 450 ps each way or at the airport for 500 ps each way. You could probably save 200ps by arranging your own transfer / going alone but If like me you just want to " get there " without the hassle then i would suggest arrange just outside the airport terminal on arrival. The other point to consider is the local transport is not allowed on the beach front which means if you arrange your own transfer you might have to carry your bags from the drop off point to your hotel...... arranged transfer literally means they will deliver you / your bags to the hotel. Not to much hassle from beach sellers, but at the end of the day the island relies on tourism.. there is plenty of choice re eating out, nightlife etc.. it's a great place if you are looking to chill out on the beach during the day and let some steam off during the night... Great Beaches, Sea, Amazing Sunset,

Nice pool, lousy beach chairs

Very nice Hotel with a swimmingpool. Unfortunately the beach facilities were on a very low standard (the beach chairs on promotion material are factualy not there - instead very lousy and cheap sunbeds). Breakfast was prepared for mainly asian guests and was basic to Western standards.

Stellar Service AND great prices!!!

The room was lovely and made even more beautiful because it was so cheap! We had a pool / ocean view. The service was very STELLAR: prompt, EXTREMELY polite, PLUS none of the hotel staff would accept tips, even after we insisted and literally stuck the money into their hands! (Only the massage person and restaurant personnel would graciously accept). The spa and workout gym were still under construction but they still had 24-hour massage services available plus the customer service and treatment was so great that it didn't even matter. They have free internet downstairs, provide complimentary bottled water daily, give complimentary indoor slippers, and the restaurant / room service is virtually flawless. It's literally a hop from the beach and the location between Stations 1 and 2 are prime. I absolutely recommend this hotel to ANYONE! I promise you it was hospitality and service at its best!

Dirty Stay Somewhere Else

This hotel is ranked no more than a 3 star hotel. So dont let the photographs fool you this place would have to be at least 20 years old. We arrived i had booked 3 rooms travelling with family of 8. We were escorted to our rooms my door took about 10 pushes to open. Looked in bathroom all tiles were covered in mould around bath and shower curtain and vanity sink. Lampshade all dusty tilted to the side. Curtains hanging on the floor. Furniture all old and chipped. The 3 rooms that i had ordered were not what i was given. So i complained to the manager and explained to her that this is inhumane to let anyone stay in here and have you heard of bleach.. They than change 1 of our rooms to a ground floor pool access room which was a little better. And the next day they said they would change the other 2 rooms. The next day come the manager change the other 2 rooms to what we were surpose to have but not really any better besides they had grouted over the mould in the bathroom the night before and the curtains were hanging straight. There is no sun chairs to lie by the poolside in the sun but there is 2 sun chairs in the water, pool very small. Great location for the beach right in front but if you smoke you cant smoke on the beach. Breakfast very ordinary. Restaurant very ordinary and very expensive. Heaps better value and delicious dishes out side resort. The safes in the room are not screwed down so your valuables are not safe i could pick it up and walk out with it no problem. I also bought this to the attention of the manager she said her staff member were trust worthy and she has cameras in hall. My question is why do you have cameras in the hall if your staff members are trustworthy. I realize now we had a pair of earrings, pearl ring and necklace and pair of ladies shoes go missing out of my room. From my sisters room jewellery and a mens shirt went missing. We paid for 9 nights and stayed for 6 nights with no refund. Good location but thats all. Would never recommend this hotel to any one

Disappointing -- 2.5 stars

We expected grand things from Boracay Mandarin Island Hotel but the whole experience felt underwhelming for a 5 star hotel. 1. After seeing photos of the Mandarin Grand Suite, we booked immediately and were excited that such a nice room was " reasonably " priced for separate sitting area, outdoor lounging area and a dipping pool. Upon arrival, we were disappointed to see that photos were so different from reality and felt cheated. Yes, the suite was spacious, clean, and comfortable. AC worked really well, nothing smelled weird, and it was nice to see the ocean from the suite. However, all of the furnishings were outdated (felt a decade-old). Leather sofa felt worn (not to mention, hot temperature and leather really don't jive well). TV was small-ish. The bathroom fixtures were also outdated with a paper screen awkwardly covering the window. Lighting seems off. The outdoor lounging area was pretty much unusable in the afternoon because it was so hot (end of November). Furthermore, there were massive amounts of ants crawling around by the sliding doors. We asked the hotel to spray the lounge area. The ant population reduced but a good amount was still milling about the next day. 2. Breakfast buffet at the hotel were borderline bad. You are better off walking to the D-Mall. 3. The WORST thing about the hotel was the outdoor concerts blasting from evening to midnight. The room was not sound-proof and it seemed as though the speakers were right outside our room, especially by the front end of our bed. Song selections ranged from old Korean songs to Guns n' Roses. I had hard time sleeping listening to glorified karaoke style tunes and will forever hate Culture Club's Karma Chameleon for the rest of my life. 4. If you want a relaxing vacation, don't stay here or in District 2. It's busy and crowded. Every time we stepped outside, we were harassed by vendors selling the same exact things / services. However, this is the fault of the general tourism environment in Boracay. Not the fault of the hotel. Good points of the hotel: 1. Good / friendly service; 2. Walking distance to D Mall; 3. Small convenience store right next door for water; 4. Comfortable bed / bedding; 5. Clean.

Awesome Stay!

My friend and i stayed in Boracay Mandarin Island Hotel for 4 days 3 nights and both of us were very impressed with the hotel. Below 5 points simply sums up our stay here. 1) excellent service! friendly and hospitable staffs that never fails to greet every guest. 2) great location, everything is just 5 minutes away! The white beach, D'mall, restaurants etc 3) top notch spa, i've been to many great massage in different countries and this is definitely comparable to some of the 5 star massage that i've been to. 4) entertainment, i love their live band at night along the beach. just make your way down to the beach right in front of the hotel and you can enjoy the music with a drink in the night sea breeze 5) tight security, we 2 girls traveling alone are very concerned with security in Philippines. They have security guards patrolling around giving us a peace in the mind that we're very safe. Thanks Boracay Mandarin Island Hotel for making this trip an awesome one!

Definitely NOT worth the money, Stay elsewhere

From the moment I walked into the hotel, I knew that the pictures on the website were deceiving. They had great lighting and made the hotel look like it was 5 stars! We were all disappointed when we walked into a run down hotel. The pool looked like it needed alot of repair and upgrading and the rooms were also very run down. Our bathroom smelled of a sewer canal. One of the nights, our room smelled of really really potent wood or paint varnish. It was horrible that we had to complain and after many attempts, they finally moved us into another room JUST FOR ONE NIGHT. They claimed that the following night, they had full capacity and could not have us move to that room. That was very unaccomodating. The staff, we thought, were not nice. They were very stiff and were not able to help us very much in any advice regarding restaurants, or even other excursions that were wanted to do. The only good thing about this place was the beach. I would come back to Boracay, but definitely not stay at the Mandarin. We stayed in Thailand and Bali on the same trip, and what surprised me is that we paid the MOST for this run down hotel and got the worst service and amenities of all three places. Please do yourself a favor, find another hotel. Maybe Regency or somewhere in Station 1.

Are they using a jackhammer up there

After an exhuasting year, my significant other and I were looking forward to a peaceful trip to Boracay last June. First and foremost on our minds were our welcome drinks and taking a nap in the luxurious hotel room we saw in the advertisement at the travel agency and the hotel's website. Once we arrived in Boracay, those plans for relaxation came to a screeching hault. Just fyi-the transfer from the airport was confusing from the start and continued even when we arrived at the boat station. We mentioned our last name to a guy holding a sign with our name on it, but he ignored us for about 15 minutes (in fairness, I think the fact that I am a white female and my s. o. looks Korean threw him for a loop as he was looking for someone with a Filipino last name... my s. o. is Filipino). After that was all sorted out, we really were warmly received at the hotel with our welcome drinks (it was basically a really sweet version of orange Tang... nothing wrong with that, but I was expecting a little more). The woman at the counter kept addressing me instead of my s. o. (I guess because I am white) ; it was a little awkward considering he had made the reservation and paid for the entire trip. We went up to our room, which was decorated nicely, and the bed was comfortable. There were many direct--almost rude--postings about fines for henna tatoos staining sheets, and I was glad that was not my thing. We immediately laid down for a nap, and it was within 15 minutes that our stay really headed south. The constant banging of construction was unacceptable. I agree wholeheartedly with dr. luck's review and wish I had read it first. It got to a point where it sounded like a jackhammer was on top of our room. Why on earth would they allow people to stay in a room with that level of noise? They also promised the construction wouldn't begin until 8:00 a. m.; although it definitely began by 7:30 and didn't really end until dark. It was really disturbing (not just a little hammering now and then). Beyond this, the spa and fitness center (by which we based our decision to stay there on) were not complete. Maybe they have listed this info on their website now, but at the time we stayed there, it was nothing but false advertisement on their website (we looked at it thoroughly before we left). We were solely disappointed but too tired to argue or switch hotels. I'm sure my s. o.'s blood pressure went up during this trip. Don't confuse this place with the Mandarin Oriental Hotel chain, which is a lovely, respectable company. My point in writing this is not to warn people of construction that may or may not be going on at this point, but to let people know of how the company fasely represented itself and demonstrated terrible customer service by placing people who had paid for four nights in a room that sounded like a warzone between 7:30 a. m. and 7:30 p. m. The room was nice, and it is centrally located. But, I would never stay there again or recommend this place.

perfect location and service

Upon arrival at Caticlan airport we were met by a driver who took us to the jetty port, a private speed boat was already awaiting for us to the hotel. We were amazed as it was only me and my husband who rode the boat, we felt like a " VIP " guests. We stayed from June 15 to 18 in a deluxe seaview room type. Room was clean and bed is very much comfortable. Toilet is likewise clean. Buffet breakfast is serve at the hotels Don Vito Ristorante, there are variety of foods to choose from specially filipino and american dishes. Food attendants are quick and attentive. We would like to thank the hotel manager Ms. Lily who would always greet us every time we see her and ask if we have any concerns and if we are enjoying our stay. Great customer service indeed..

Amazing must stay here!!!

I came to Boracay for the first time this last March. When we first arrived at the airport we were met by Eddie who took us to his boat and then to the hotel. Crossing the crystal blue water towards the hotel I was filled with a great excitement and anticipation, ready for this long awaited beach paradise vacation I had been looking forward to for months. From arrival to departure our trip met all of my expectations. The hotel room was spotless clean and a welcoming spot to rest after a long day out on the beach. It is set right on the beach so you can literally walk out of the hotel to find yourself in paradise. There is a swimming pool with lounge chairs in the water that you can cool off in if you prefer that to the beach. We ate all of our meals at their restaurant where we enjoyed an array of delicious seafood platters as well as fresh mango smoothies. The breakfast buffet was to die for, delicious choice of either a traditional filipino breakfast or omelettes, fresh fruit and so much more! Did I mention the gelato yet?! Made fresh in their shop the gelato was an amazing treat in the heat of the sun. More than the amazing amenities and accommodations this place had to offer, what stood out even more was the incredible staff. They greeted us with a smile and helped book us tours around the island and gave us advice on places to go and things to see. Would definitely return to this hotel. Yes there are many choices to choose from in this area, but the Boracay Mandarin made such an impression I would gladly come here over any of the other resorts. Seriously amazing people here.

Good location, but needs a facelift

Must've gotten a bad egg... So let me start with the positives first. If you're a party goer, love the night life, this location is right in the middle of the strip. Aside from a good location (depending on your traveling style), the staff, especially the women minding the reception during the mornings are pretty friendly. The hotel itself has good bones but I think they've seen better days. We had hotel room 216, and it had good space but that was probably the only good thing about it. Upon entering, we had to fight off mosquitoes and used our bug spray to try and kill them off. The place felt dusty and everything just felt old. There was a plastic flower on a scratched up desk that was so dusty I should've just thrown it out myself. The magazines on the tray were so worn, it just felt like it had been there for years. And the linen had heaps of markings all over it. Beware of the bathroom in 216, you can literally see the rotting wood on the bathroom vanity against the see through glass while you're standing in the shower. The toilet had a black ring around the water line. Unfortunately we were locked in the deal we bought online and couldn't be bothered changing rooms and paying the difference. The location saved us a bit as we were out of the room 85% of the time. I had a glimpse of another room while the cleaners were doing their job, and the bathroom looked much nicer.... but then again, with the state of the entire hotel, I'm thinking it's time they give the hotel some remodelling. It needs a good colour change, perhaps to brighten up the entire place. Other things, the buffet was subpar, and would've enjoyed eating elsewhere in the morning. Definitely would give this a miss, and try a newer hotel elsewhere.

Great place to stay

This hotel is a mid range hotel. The rooms were of good size and very clean. The front of house were very helpful. We did have one issue where our 4 year old cut her foot in the pool, some tiles needed replacing. The grab thing about this hotel is its right on the beach. I would def stay there again.

nice stay but sooooooo noisy

I went to Mandarin Island Hotel in Boracay in August 2011. Despite 3 days I really enjoyed my holidays but if you are looking for restful, calm and quiet place this hotel is not for you. There is a band playing till midnight just in front of the hotel, located in main street in the center of commercial area. The food at the Italian restaurant is cheap and correct, lovely staff as well, the swimming pool is larger than the other hotels in this area. Room maintenance was ok, but room in itself looks a bit old. There is a very large bathroom. Transfer arranged y the Hotel from the airport was excellent. If you land in Kalibo, you have to know that it will take you around 2 hours and a half to reach the hotel

Excellent hotel, perfect beachfront location... a must!!

I stayed here for 3 nights with friends. The hotel meets all the needs of any traveller, patient and attentive staff, clean rooms, wifi, pool, restaurant and beachfront location. In arrival at Caticlan airport, we met the hotel shuttle service. They took our bags, drove us in the air-conditioned van to the boat and ferried us to Boracay in comfort. A tip... book and pay for the transfer in advance... the journey from Caticlan to the hotel would be very challenging independently of the hotel. The hotel is located only metres from the beach, it's very comfortable and in easy reach of everything with the island of Boracay. I would stay here again. Book early and you will secure a great bargain.

Best Hotel on Boracay Island

Words cannot describe our wonderful vacation and marriage at this hotel. The hotel is located right on the beach at station 2. This is ideal as you are only a few minutes walk from everything. The hotels rooms are clean and well furnished, the staff working there were incredibly helpful. Lilly the manager worked tirelessly to ensure our stay and our Wedding was the most incredible experience. All the staff at Boracay Mandarin were incredibly helpful Rene in the restaurant. Nothing was to much trouble for them. Wether you are planning to take a vacation or looking for a venue for a Beach Wedding on Boracay. Look no further, this hotel can arrange it all. The catering, the venue setup on the Beach, incredible team of incredibly talented photographers and Videographers, live bands and fire dancers will make your wedding legendary!! Our sincere thanks to Lilly, Rene and all the staff at Boracay Mandarin for making us welcome at you hotel and for giving us the most incredible wedding event.

Not what we expected

We had an awful experience here. Every night there were always people walking around the hallways speaking very loudly between 1 am and 5 am, with very loud music playing. I could literally feel the bass thumping from my room. The first night we could hear scampering above the ceiling. It sounded bigger than rats, maybe cats or something? I asked someone to look into it, and it didn't happen the following night, so that was good. Besides from that, it's actually not too bad. The hotel had fairly descent staff. The look and feel is a bit rough around the edges, but overall the rooms are " okay " - nothing fancy, but not dirty. The pool is quite nice, and has a pretty fountain feature. Also I found the internet to be quite good (both indoors and around the pool), compared to most other places I've stayed at in the Philippines. Overall... quite disappointing however.

Beach at doorstep

Awesome awesome 5* hotel because: 1. Awesome beach at doorstep. Probably just 10m away from hotel entrance. 2. Located at Station 2. It makes travelling to D'mall, station 1 and 3 easier. 3. Spa is great! Totally felt rejuvenated. It is worth the premium price paid. Do make reservation. 4. Staff are so polite and service is really good. 5. A good italian restaurant offering many choices of food and beachfront dinning at night. 6. Free wifi with strong signal. Advice: - Other than transfer from Cagban Jetty to Mandarin (20mins), you really don't need any transfer especially after sea sports because walking back to hotel allow you to shop around. - Kalibo airport charge PHP700 / pax airport tax upon departure. BE SURE THAT YOU HAVE ENOUGH PHP. Don't worry if you don't as there is a money changer beside the entrance into the departure hall. The Q into departure hall is usually v long.

Dont know where the bad reviews come from, Mandarin was amazing!

I am not sure how people can write bad reviews about this resort. I am 25 and I traveled with my boyfriend, we are from Australia. We stayed in a premier sea view room. It was beautiful. I am a travel agent and any advice I can give the general public is never pick the cheapest room type, the reason you dont like the room is because you get what you pay for. Upgrade your room type, pay the extra and you will be impressed. Premier Sea View was clean, comfortable, MASSIVE king size bed. Cleaned daily and promptly. Could see the ocean from our balcony. Request a room on a higher floor. The location was PERFECT. Beach front, literally walk out and you are on the sand heading into the water. Really great restaurants and bars in a short walk and plenty to pick from. Breakfast at the resort was average. Not a big deal though because you can buy fresh fruit for 1:50 outside which suited me fine. The only thing you cant avoid when staying beach front is the loud music that is played every night on the beach, if you have children that are sensitive to noise, then dont stay ANY where beach front as this will bother you. I would book this hotel again and recommend it to any clients.

The pictures of the hotel Boracay Mandarin do not lie ! :-)

The pictures of the hotel Boracay Mandarin do not lie ! :-) The hotel is as wonderful as on the photos :-) I really enjoyed my stay here. Kind people, willing to do anything that is needed, great food at Don Vito restaurant, beautiful interior of the rooms, great atmosphere :-)

Love Love this Hotel. Staff are wonderful. Free Breakfast Buffet is Amazing

Good value for your money. I've research for awhile on where to stay in Boracay. We have. 3 yr old who is use to the North American life. This hotel did not disappoint us. Awesome location, super clean, looks new, bed is very comfortable. Staff attends to your need in seconds. Love the staff in the Restaurant. I highly recommend considering staying in Mandarin. Close to everything. Pool is a bit cold and kids pool is a bit small. I ant complain of anything else. We loved our stay here and would go back in a heart beat. Staff are friendly & courteous.

First Impression Last

It was my first time to be in the island and I can share my best memories all throughout my 5-day stay with this hotel. The hotel is located at Station 2 with great interiors and facilities. Next to it is their popular Don Vito that serves amazing Italian cuisine. I heard that their pizza was superb however I am more of a fan for full course meals. They have big servings good for two and their Gelato is simply perfect for the location. Initially you may get an impression that this is really for high-end guests however I appreciate the efforts of the Management for recognizing the demand for backpackers thus they newly acquired Veli's Inn which is now called Island's Inn, located still in Station 2 and at the back of D*Mall. I am surprised that among budget-friendly hotels in the area, they still maintain good amenities and courteous staff. I stayed here longer. It has shower heater, spacious bathroom, big flat screen TVs, mini fridge, a twin size bed, and a veranda. Yup my room has wi-fi! Boracay is truly a world treasure and the people there were so kind. I traveled alone but I always felt secured of the place, similar to Makati where there are great parties, delectable food menu, fantastic boutiques, plus indeed a melting pot of international culture but only difference is it's on the beach! I would like to commend the following people who helped me: the staff from Don Vito particularly Ralph who extended his assistance to my guests and I got the best spot for the night's performers like fire dancers, live band who sings very well even in Korean and Japanese languages. Most commendable are the members from the Management when they helped me booking my exit from the island (I'll share that with you in the TIPS), The hotel has dependable team and transportation services from vans, to speed boats, up to either Caticlan or Kalibo Airports. I was beating my flight schedule and those people were simply amazing. TIPS: - Boracay has a lot of interesting food hubs, try Bei Kurt und Magz Snackbar at Station 3, I love their imported bacons and happy hour starts at 2pm onwards. - Visit the market, at the back of D*Mall, you can have more affordable meals there and fresh fruits - Pub Crawl should be a thing to try so that you can visit party places like Epic and Wave - If you're traveling alone, always leave messages to the head waiter or security personnel near the hotel. Being attentive is really the key, if you want to enjoy swimming from stations 1-3 without carrying a bag with you just talk to them. - (Entry To Boracay) getting a shuttle going to Boracay is easy, you will see the post of Southwest immediately and pay PhP650.00 and it covers the bus, the boat, and the shuttle towards your respective accommodations (there is also a guy who could help you carry your stuff) - (Exit of Boracay) getting a shuttle going to either Kalibo or Caticlan, always insist on getting the name of the person who booked you (not just from the hotel but even the one they are transacting with). If possible ask for a tracer or record of your booking because you simply have to be on time with your next flight. Island Tours made a mistake on my departure and could have acted better if only they listened to me. - the hotel also has a wonderful transport system too, if you're really in a hurry then this is the best option. - Internet is good in the area, you can find it in the hotel, they have dependable wi-fi and I can see computer shops in the area. Sending e-mails here is easy. It's nice to be independent but sometimes you simply need to trust more people around you especially those from the hotel... definitely this hotel is wonderful and I have high regards so I will keep coming back to this place and highly recommend it to everyone. I stayed here from March 6-10, 2015, traveled alone for business and leisure.

Long weekend in Beautiful Boracay

This was our third time in Boracay so we obviously love it! :-). Fantastic place! Mandarin- I was impressed with the efficient transfer service to and from airport, hotel is situated perfectly in the middle of the beach. Nice room (booked the Penthouse Suite) well worth the money and very luxurious compared to most other hotels on Boracay beach (excluding the $$$$$$ few) Breakfast was not good at all but plenty of alternative places nearby to eat. We were only there three days but luckily as it's rain season we had two with glorious sunshine, Loved the pool and the beach area in front of hotel was paradise.

Very nice hotel in Perfect location

The Mandarin Hotel was exactly what we were looking for. The hotel is nicely kept, has a great view, nice pool, attractive from the outside (We found many people who weren't even staying there taking pictures in front of it). The staff is very friendly but don't really go out of their way to assist you with things such as activities. If you are looking for a nice hotel close to " life " Mandarin is perfect. It is steps away from great restaurants and the dmall plus it is beachfront... centrally located on White Beach! The rooms were clean, bright and a good size. They offer beach chairs, nice beach towels and internet at no extra cost. The buffet breakfast leaves alot to be desired so If it is included in your package great but if not I suggest you spend the money elsewhere as the food on the island is quite good and very cheap! As mentioned by others they are quite picky about any sort of spots on towels so ladies becareful of your makeup! The hotel is fairly new so the gym and spa are not completely finished but that is noted on their website. Occasionally the construction banging can be heard from the room but didn't seem to be much of a bother to us as we only noticed it a couple of times during our one week stay and we were only two doors away from where they were working Overall we feel the Mandarin is a great choice... the few things we weren't thrilled with seemed minor so we would definitely stay at this hotel again! It also seemed to be highly regarded but the locals on the island.

DELUXE room with a WALL VIEW! BEWARE!!!

I have booked a deluxe room in this beachfront hotel and after entering the room I got absolutely furious as our balcony was facing the wall of the hotel. It was two metres away from the balcony and we did not see anything else apart from the wall. The room was really dark, as no sunlight could get there!!! I have never been to any hotels in the world with deluxe rooms facing the wall!!! When I asked the woman at the reception she told me that all the deluxe rooms have such a view. STRANGE, as they do not tell You about it on their www page. The food choice was average. If You expect peace and quiet don't go to Boracay as it is crowded with tourists and bars with loud music. I wouldn't recommend that place. It was disappointing.

If you want to throw money down the drain

This Hotel is no where near a 5 star rating. Booked a premium deluxe room with sea view. Was taken to a family room with partial sea view. Called staff who said the room i booked and paid for was in fact unavailable. Eventually got room i paid for. the Sea view does not exist there unless you are in the two rooms that actually face the ocean and on lvl 3. all other room balconies face one another. Mould in bathroom. restaurant is extremely expensive and serves terrible italian, AVOID EATING THERE. They tried charging me on two occasions 10% service charge on food ordered even though I'm a guest of the hotel. lost room key and was charged $16! Rooms are extremely small. no place to sit around dirty pool. reception staff are rude. Cleaners are nice and courteous. Location is good.

2019-05-05 11:03:37

Disappointing for a 5 star place

The rooms by the pool lack of privacy. The bath is useless because the water pressure is low and the water rarely gets hot enough. Wi-fi is very weak and we used mobile data. The worst part are the towels. They are not suitable for the people who are allergic to washing powder. Must be washed much better. Because the room is by the pool there are some mosquitoes inside. The rooms are not fresh. The restaurant nearby blocks access to the hotel. You have to go through the people eating. The food in the restaurant is so so. The front beach area is not nice lacking palm trees. The pool doesn't get any sun in the afternoon and thus not very inviting. Good things: the rooms are quite big, nice bed.

Old property at a good location

Stayed here for 4 nights with my wife, we chose this because it's close to a lot of vegetarian option restaurants we being vegans ourselves. The location is perfect if you want to be close to the beach and the evening activites in boracay, however the property is quite old, rooms are not squeaky clean and they don't change bedsheets even once for 4 night stay. Also they will charge you for lost card / spoilt bedsheet etc etc which for a 100$+ hotel is very strange. We had booked a premier sea view deluxe room which has the best view in the house if you can't book the suites. Go for room on level 3 if you end up booking here. The staff is good at the hotel, sme goes for the restaurant staff. Overall I feel there are newer properties around which will give better value and experience.

Fantastic location

This hotel is right on the beach and close to everything in station 2. Hotel isn't new, but clean, comfortable beds and has everything you need. For a solo traveller was perfect, as close to everywhere and walking distance and breakfast is very tasty. Only complaint is the internet drops off, so you have to keep doing your login

Excellent

Boracay is the first foreign city i had ever visited and I had high expectations. The Hotel is as pretty as it looks in the pictures. The swimming pool with its blue waters is at the entrance and it adds to the beauty of this place. We had a tough trek with our luggages and were desperate for some help- i would strongly reccomend the hotel's pick and drop services from kalibo or caticlan as the case may be, a facility which we availed on our return journey. Upon our entry, we were greeted by a smiling member of the staff, Bret, who immediately offered to help us with our luggage. The reception staff were extremely courteous and immensely helpful. We witnessed a succint yet detailed explanation of the terms, conditions and amenities on offer. We had booked ourselves a 'Premier Sea View' room and it lived upto its name. The room was extremely well kept and the toilets were clean and so was the bathtub. The hotel provides guests with all the requisite toiletries. Other facilities provided include a TV with sufficient channel options, reasonably fast wifi, a hair dryer etc. Our room was in the first floor with a good view of the sea from the balcony. Owing to the location, we could hear the pleasant sounds from the beach and the music from the performances at the restaurant below. For those who wish to not be disturbed from their privacy, the balcony door is quite an able sound proof mechanism. The hotel is located at the heart of the beach in station 2 and is equidistant from both the ends. The hotel opens to the sea and that part of the beach serviced contains beach beds which the guests can avail. In the evenings, this area becomes a bar and grill by the sea. The Don Vito restaurant lives up to the dialogue mouthed by Brando in the movie: i shall give you an offer you cannot refuse, we had multiple meals at the restaurant, experiences which never once left a bad taste. The food is great, the service excellent and the prices are reasonable. There are several other facilities like the spa and the gym which we could not avail and hope to do so next time. I want to thank Ms. Lily for seeing us of personally and also for the wonderful gift she presented. We thank you and your team for making our honeymoon special. Overall Verdict: i would always want to stay at your hotel each time i am able to visit the wonderful island of Boracay

Prime location and great service

My girlfriend and I stayed at Mandarin Island for 7 nights. The service of the hotel was excellent, the room was clean. The location is great! Dmall is just 5 minutes away, and if you like nightlife this is just the place. The beach is just steps away, so basically everything is right under your nose. When we were on our way to Manila to take a connecting flight back home, we were lucky enough to run into the manager Mrs. Lily. She helped us with the flight (our flight was cancelled) and even drove us to the international terminal in Manila. So I have to thank Mrs. Lily and Mandarin Island for giving us the best experience during our holiday!

Absolutely AMAZING first class staff and customer service

I never write reviews after our trips abroad. It's not that I don't want to or see the value in doing so but as a fulltime working mum of two small children frankly I simply never find enough hours in the day. This time however I am making an exception because the truly wonderful Lili (Boracay mandarin island hotel manager) and her first class team really are something special and deserve the recognition. We booked for two weeks over Xmas and new year and originally booked teh samsbassador suite (lovely room, amazing views large space for our children and amazing pool terrace.) everything was great on arrival, lili came to our room to greet us and Put simply NOTHING was too much trouble.. She was so warm and welcoming we genuinely felt like home from home which was very important to us for the holidays and with our 4 year old and 9month old baby. Lili arranged for a microwave to be out in our room so we could sterilise the bottles at night and even had a highchair sent up so that on mornings we wanted to eat breakfast on our terrace the baby could be fed easily there. The ONLY downside with This lovely hotel was the noise levels in the evening. Being set right in the beach meant that there really was no escaping the band below and even though the music stops bang on 12pm with two small children being kept awake after the first night we had to tell lili that sadly we didn't think we could stay. SHE WAS AMAZING.. She said as a mother herself she totally understood how hard this was for us and immediately spoke to the management office in Manila who agreed to have us moved to the top floor suite to be furthest ah from the noise and they rearranged the furniture so that the children's beds were furthest away from the noise. Every day from that moment on lili would come to our room and check on us and the children and make sure the noise wasn't travelling too much to disturb them. And once they were asleep she would arrange for our dinner to be served on the terrace outside our room where we could enjoy the live music ourselves but within earshot of our children sleeping inside. she even brought her own special coconut oil ointment to the room one day for us when she saw my son had some mosquito bites, Truly lili made our holiday into one we will never forget. What a very very special lady and I only hope the management in Manila recognise what a superstar gem she is! I doubt anyone could have a bad experience at this hotel with this lady in charge.

Celebrate your Dream Wedding @Boracay Mandarin Island Hotel

Last January 9, 2011 me & my wife celebrated our beach wedding @Boracay Mandarin Island hotel beach front station 2 as I planned my wedding I thought it's only just a simple wedding set up but during event the wedding set up was amazing. All the wedding arrangement and venue was incredible, the place, wedding set up (from wedding ceremony to wedding reception) is very elegant especially the aisle and the altar, they even put some roof in the wedding venue incase of weather problem. All the staff are very helpful & accommodating especially their sales manager as well as the hotel owner itself. Foods are very nice and tasty, the wedding package is very affordable and they even upgraded my room in a suite (amazing room), the room has mini pool inside beside the veranda & it has a very nice view of Boracay shores. In addition they even gave us a complimentary massage. So for those who want to celebrate their special day in Boracay I highly recommend Boracay Mandarin Island hotel. Thanks in million to all the staff of Boracay Mandarin Island hotel especially to Ms. Lily and Ms. Joy for making it happened, it's a dream wedding, me & my family will always remember you. God Bless.. c ",)

NOT FOR FAMILY

This hotel is smoking area everywhere. At the restaurant, around the pool, in front of rooms. Just a sign asking not to smoke inside the bed. The seaview room is so noisy. You feel like you are inside the disco. You can see prostitute going in and out of the hotel any time of the day. The restaurant is average, no taste, the gazpacho is the terrible Chinese translation when they think you should just mix ketchup with water... only the paella is ok. The cleaning team is doing its best to keep good air inside the rooms. Boracay is being destroyed by so many hotel mainly leaving sewage go directly to the sea. We all had terrible gastroenteritis.

2010-04-09 22:51:06

Paradise found.. with a catch

Getting to Boracay and the Hotel is an experience in itself. We started our day in Singapore, stopped in Manila, took a bus to the domestic terminal, a small plane to Caticlan, a bus to the pier, a ferry to Boracay Island, a car up to Station 2 and then walked about 500 meters on the beach to the Hotel. The island and the Hotel look fantastic; this has to be one of the most picturesque places on earth. After such an awe inspiring journey to such a beautiful location that is basically the highlight over. At some point we will put a review of Boracay in TripAdvisor so I will restrain this review to just the hotel. The rooms were nice and spacious with good quality furniture, expensive for Asia but the whole island is expensive. I'm sure you will get better value in other hotels. Unless it is the height of peak season just book your room for a night and find a better value place on the island when you arrive. The location was not bad, easy walking distance to D'Mall, however on the maps you find on their website and the internet they indicate this hotel is directly next to the D'Mall when in fact it is about a 5 min walk on sand. This brings another issue to mind, if you are not able bodied the island will be a challenge. Getting anywhere requires walking on soft sand, not to mention getting on / off boats on small planks of wood to get onto the island. Breakfast is crap.. not sure how to put it in any other words that convey an accurate description. The service is non-existent and the food is terrible. We eat American breakfasts when on holiday so perhaps the Asian breakfast was better.. but if you like bacon and eggs forget it. We managed to get an American breakfast 2 out of the 10 mornings we stayed. If you want a great American breakfast head down to D'Mall and grab breakfast at RUMBAS (about half way down on the left) the service and food are fantastic. Now we are not young (early forties) and we still enjoy a late night and a few drinks. The hotel puts on a band at night on the beach in front of the hotel. So if you want to stay up and enjoy reasonable music and a few drinks then sit back relax and enjoy. However if you don't want to do that every night.. forget it.. the music is played so loud that no matter where your room is the windows will vibrate to the music. Even ear plugs will not block out the music, so after a few nights of this it starts to feel more like torture than a holiday. Sleeping is out of the question unless you are completely deaf, even then the bass will still be shaking the bed. For Australians the concept of ++ is something we are unaccustomed to. In general the price displayed is the actual total price paid, and you leave a tip if you get really good service. For many countries the final price is plus tax, and if you are buying something that involves a service it is plus tax plus service charge. The Hotel restaurant it is no different except.. Boracay seems to have it's own method. We called it ++++, to elaborate you will have a menu with prices that you order from. When the bill comes quite often the drink that was in the menu at say 150 pesos has now become 200 pesos. That is the first plus - (if you complain the response is - oh sorry that is an old menu). Then plus tax and plus service charge. So we are at the third plus. The forth plus is when the bill comes to say 1750 pesos and you pay with 2000 pesos.. unless you are pig headed and wait and wait and wait.. it is assumed that the extra 250 pesos must be another tip. If this happened once you'd just write it off but this was rampant at almost every restaurant or bar we went to over the 10 nights we were in Boracay. (I will add this did not happen at Nigi Nigi Nus or Rumbas) As a generalisation.. don't expect this place to be cheap.. this place is expensive. For mixed drinks don't expect to get the spirit you ordered. It will be replaced with a cheap alternative. TIP: Order the spirit straight and the mixer separate. Taste the spirit to ensure it is what you ordered. To sum up.. it's a nice enough hotel and Boracay is really a beautiful beach location. But there are just way too many negatives. If you are still going after reading this take lots of small US currency, everyone wants a tip - doesn't matter what they do. Just getting out of the hotel and onto the plane in Caticlan will take about $10 in tips of $1 for each person who will in some very very very small way be a part of your journey and then stick out the hand.
