Lovely getaway for a few days
Wonderful place to stay. The owners were delightful and made sure our stay was one to remember. When back to the area, I will stay here again. The rooms and lobby were clean, staff was knowledgeable and courteous.
Great place to stay
We have stay here over Christmas 2 times now and the owners are fantastic. We come to spend Christmas with our son's family and need extra rooms Tony the owner lets us book rooms even though the motel is closed for Christmas. The motel is the cleanest in town and the service is great.
DO NOT stay at Woodland Inn in Meadow Lake!!
I booked a room at this motel in January 2022 over the phone. The desk clerk took down the wrong date, email address and phone number which was clearly noted on my invoice. Because the confirmation emails was sent to the wrong email address I didn't receive it and was unaware of their error. It was impossible for me to confirm the dates when I didn't receive the email. As a result I arrived on the proper date but not the date the desk clerk incorrectly booked. I was charged for 2 nights, one as a no show and for the night I actually arrived. I called the manager Spencer who stated he couldn't do anything to help me and put me in contact with the owner Anthony Vandenberg. Mr. Vandenberg refused to acknowledge that the error was due to his own staff's negligence even though the invoice clearly corroborates this. This is very poor management and customer service. I would advise anyone to stay away from this establishment. He doesn't deal with the public fairly.
very impressed
i was staying for one night and when I did I had a great shower and bed that's all I wanted.... but the next night all hotels were booked up and I could not find a place to stay i went back here and the young fella at the desk made sure there was a room for me, he did not discriminate because of all my tattoos like many do and i was so happy to have a hot shower and bed again after a long day working.. i promised the guy he was the man and that he earned the hotel a 5 star review
Cleanest place in Meadow
Have stayed here a few times on business Very clean, comfortable and reasonably quiet. Staff at front desk are always cheerfully helpful and never bothered by an additional request. Have stayed in other places in Meadow Lake but this is by far my 1 st choice
excellent place to stay
Clean and quiet. Staff is friendly and the location is great. Good value for your money here. It is a bit dated but well kept up so I would strongly recommend staying here. Rooms are comfortable and the AC worked great. Handy location right across the highway from Boston Pizza and several other restaurants.
Clean and decent, a bit pricey
Your basic motel, but cleaner than many I have found in small towns. I had to switch rooms because the TV wasn't working. I didn't really appreciate that on a cold night, but these things happen. I understand they provide breakfast of cereal, but I won't review that as I enjoy a hot breakfast.
Okay for a short stay
This small motel a short walk from the high school was an okay place to stay for two nights, but there were some issues. The breakfast (included in the price) could have been a bit better, and not everything was out at the same time. The small gym was not available before seven a. m, which is a drag if you like to work out early. I don't understand why it was not available when breakfast in the room next door started at six o'clock. The wifi was terrible. The room was comfortable though, and clean. There are some fast food restaurants, and a Boston Pizza cross the street.
Clean, quiet well kept
Great location in the town of Meadow Lake. Rooms were very clean with basic furniture and comfortable beds. The front desk staff were great and the continental breakfast was fine with yogurt, cereals and fruit juice and fruit. Will stay here next time for sure.
VP of Business Development
I stayed at this hotel for business and was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness, comfort and amenities it offered. I typically stay at chains as you know what you're getting however for those considering where to stay in Meadow Lake I strongly recommend this hotel. They went above and beyond as well to help me scan and fax important document to a client that I needed to have forwarded. The only recommendation I would give to the proprietor is to have makeup mirrors / enlargement ones with an extension arm, in the bathroom for women when they put on their make up. Great hotel. 👍
Clean and comfortable
Not a bad word to say about this hotel. Everything was clean and comfortable. Didn't feel like a small town hotel. The breakfast was small but very good. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Will definitely stay here again.
Very clean property and rooms
We stayed at the Woodland for one night and were very impressed. The lobby is clean and very welcoming. The room was very nice and exceptionally clean. The bed was really comfortable and the room was quiet, allowing us to sleep in. Breakfast was great with good selection and a clean breakfast area. I would recommend the Woodland with confidence.
Super Clean Hotel with Professional and Friendly Staff
I am super impressed with the Meadow Lake Woodland Inn. The staff are friendly, professional and accommodating. The hotel common areas and the rooms are well maintained and spic and span.... a perfect place for a 'Germaphobe' to relax and enjoy themselves ;) Thanks to the staff of Woodland Inn, your hard work is appreciated. We will definitely be back :))
Home Away from Home
I seldom stay at the same hotel for two consecutive nights but did so here a week ago. It is not a fancy hotel; just solid; good front end service; friendly people; clean rooms; good breakfast. Someone needs to properly set the clocks in each room as both I and an Associate in another room had difficulty doing so and he is an engineer...
Favorite place in Meadow Lake to stay!
I stay at this hotel a few times a year for work related travel. The staff treat me like royalty! They are so helpful and accommodating; always a pleasure to chat with. Although it is dated, as some have commented, the rooms are extremely clean, and the breakfast included is excellent. I also appreciate the gym that is available if the weather isn't suitable for walking outside, then it's a great way to unwind after supper.
Best place to stay in Meadow Lake
Both desk employees I encountered were extremely friendly and helpful. Room was fairly large, flat screen TV, massive fridge, and bed was very comfortable. Entire room was very clean. Love how they have microwaves in the hallway on the second floor, made eating in very convenient. No window shaker ac unit in the room I had but the room temperature was excellent. WiFi was fast and reliable, and they had ample parking for a pickup and trailer. Will stay here on all my future trips.
" Clean and Comfortable "
We stayed here one night while on a trip through Meadow Lake. Front desk staff were very friendly, pleasant and helpful. Rooms were clean, beds comfortable, clean washroom. The continental breakfast was modest and would meet most individuals needs.
Good Place to Stay
If you are traveling to Meadow Lake, the Woodland Inn is a good place to stay. Along the highway, close to all amenities, and center of town. Rooms are clean, friendly staff at the front desk, and complementary breakfast is nice.
Our favorite place to stay!
My husband and I have stayed at the Woodland Inn many times and have never been disappointed in any aspect of our stay! You get a warm welcome as soon as you come in the door. The rooms are very clean and roomy, great beds and pillows. The Inn is quiet, clean, well maintained and they offer a great complimentary breakfast! The staff are friendly and helpful. We wouldn't stay anywhere else while in Meadow Lake!
Best in Meadow Lake
Convenient to the services along the highway and close to town centre. Rooms are clean & well laid out, WiFi is fast & reliable, and the hallways are quiet. The free breakfast is simple, but fresh. This is my 'go to' place in Meadow.
Clean, dated place to stay
I stayed here just one night for a work trip. The hotel looks like it hasnt been updated since the 80s / early 90s. I must admit though, for being so dated everything was very clean. The light in the bathroom was very dim. Beds decent, pillows a little too puffy for my liking. The breakfast was disappointing, very little selection and an unhealthy selection at that. I ate some yogurt then went to get a real breakfast elsewhere. On my last business trip, I stayed an the Travelodge and wasnt overly impressed. I may try the Super 8 next time. I will keep this hotel in mind as a clean and decent place to stay.
Good stay
We stayed from August 14-17th, 2014 Room was spacious, clean and quiet upon arrival. Some areas were updated but the carpet does not a change out is was sticky on the feet. Only complaints were that the cleaning staff was done by 10am so our room was not cleaned the 3 days we were there. If you are tall like my husband then showering is a bit of a challenge as the showerhead is aimed quite low. Under 6 " high.
awesome service & clean rooms
Extremely up to date and clean rooms, friendly service, great filling continental breakfast. overall a good stay. woodland inn is defiantly a hotel that I would recommend to stay at in meadow lake saskatchewan. the fitness room is also a really good add on!
Would stay there again
Stayed one night, easy to find. Didn't have the continental breakfast. Beds were comfortable, could have used extra pillows. modern air conditioner used otherwise room was too warm. Desk staff did not ask how our stay was, which is always appreciated.
Average stay
This was where we stayed when we were moving to a community north of Meadow Lake. Nothing really bad to say about this place. We stayed here after we were a little bit 'sketched out' at another hotel which cost even more. There aren't many choices in Meadow Lake and this one I'm imagining is most likely the best bet. Clean, nice reception and it did include breakfast (although really it was just muffins and croissants). Our room looked out onto farming equipment. It made us ask ourselves " why did we move here? " however two years later we are still here...
Clean, Friendly But Shoddy
Hotel seems new but workmanship is shoddy. My door you could see all around it, the light from the hallway when the room was dark. Cold in room which friendly front desk girl offered up a heater and extra blankets which worked well. Free breakfast with room which is good. Shower didn't work despite instructions taped to mirror. May not be my first place to stay next time but would consider.
Better than I expected!
Stayed here for 2 nights on business, but was expecting to stay at the Super 8 across the street (which is our usual place while on business). However, Super 8 was full, so we made reservations at the Woodland. It was much better than I expected - room was spacious and clean, continental breakfast was OK, and staff were friendly and helpful. The common area downstairs was very peaceful and you could sit with a newspaper and have coffee or tea. All in all it was a pleasant stay, and much better than I had expected. I would definitely stay here again in the future.
Simple motel, clean, friendly, comfortable, good value
We spent one night here. It is a simpler local motel. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was plainly furnished with one queen bed. Bathroom fine (basin in bedroom not bathroom), all very clean. Microwaves available for use near rooms, 24 hour tea and coffee downstairs. Breakfast light but adequate continental. Convenient for supermarket and eateries.
Solid small-town hotel
The Woodland Inn is across from Super 8 and McDonald's. I was impressed with the family owners / management - very community oriented. This is a small-town place with some great features. Colour towels, decent lamps, large tv, fridge, and black out drapes. Local and calling card calls are free. There's even microwave ovens in the hallway. Continental breakfast is 7 days a week. Woodland boasts that it gets a higher rating from Canada Select than any other Meadow Lake hotel. Now I know why; I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else in the town.
