Dinner for two

We decided to dine at The Divide while in Georgetown Saturday night. We chose this restaurant based largely on previous TA reviews. Wow we were impressed. The prime rib and rosemary chicken were excellent. Very clean establishment with an outgoing staff. Must try if you're on the area.

Breakfast in Georgetown

We took a Sunday drive and stopped in here for an early lunch. It was Father's Day, and the place was quite busy. We didn't have a reservation, but the staff was able to seat us relatively promptly. Being a holiday, they were serving breakfast later than usual, so we wound up having breakfast instead of lunch. They have won awards in the past for their chili, so my husband ordered the chili scramble. I ordered a veggie scramble. They don't offer Egg Beaters, but the waitress said they could make my scramble with egg whites if I preferred. We deduced that the chef would probably just discard the yolks of the three eggs used in the dish, leaving me with a much smaller portion than if I had a whole egg scramble. So I went with whole eggs instead of egg whites. The scrambles were more like skillet dishes, with the home fries incorporated into the scramble rather than being served on the side. My husband's dish had more potatoes than mine did, but no complaints there. He had more spuds than he cared to eat. He liked the chili. My scramble was made with fresh veggies, but the liquids weren't entirely cooked out of them before the eggs were added, so the dish was a bit soupy. It tasted good though. The meals came with a choice of toast. We each got one slice of toast, which I appreciated because that's all the extra starch I wanted with my meal. Most restaurants serve two slices of toast with breakfast, and I wind up eating both of them when I really only needed one slice. The waitress said that the tea was freshly-brewed, so I ordered some. To my palate, it had an off-taste. I didn't say anything about it at first, but the waitress noticed that I wasn't drinking it, so she asked if I liked it. When I told her " not really, " she apologized and took it off of our bill. The interior of the restaurant is pleasant. It is designed to look like the interior of a mine, but it also has cloth-covered partitions which help dampen the sound and keep the noise level down. Bottom line: This is a nice place to stop, with good atmosphere and service. And it's a pleasant drive through the countryside to get here. We'd consider eating at this restaurant again if we were in the area, but I would either order something else for breakfast (they have a number of different eggs Benedict offerings) or we'd get here later and have lunch. They are also open for dinner, and there is a counter with bar stools as you enter the restaurant which looks like it is set up to be a beer and wine bar at night.

An unexpected delight

My wife and I wound up here on an unplanned adventure to Georgetown, and boy are we glad we did! We saw the center from the road we ere on, and decided to stop for breakfast. The decor is amazing, the staff are delightful, and the French toast was exquisite. I will happily make the thirty minute drive to eat here again. A must.

Brunch and more

This is a classy quaint place to eat. Over a several year period it has advanced its decor little by little add to the dining experience. Only one TV at the bar. The food is very good with a variety of selections for lunch or dinner as always pricey 25% more for this area on the mountain but it's worth the taste and vibes. Staff friendly and welcoming. Traditional cooked meats and salmon with all the fixings. It's a place you'll come back to visit again and again. Plenty of parking so it's worth the drive!

A must to eat at

This restaurant is remodeled into a semi cave style with tables separated by partitions for privacy. It will surprise you when you walk in because it doesn't look like anything from the street. The food is excellent with some variations that will surprise you. We had breakfast and I was so happy the coffee was excellent for a restaurant. Good food a must try.

Rubicon Trail reward

We stopped in to enjoy a meal with friends who had just ran the rubicon trail with us. Service was friendly and efficient, and the food was very good. The chef here is very good. My son and i had planked salmon, it was properly prepared and very tasty! The others had a burger, ribs, and a bowl of something but i dont recall what. Sorry. Everyone said their meals were great, and the coffee was excellent! I would not hesitate to visit here again.

The Divide Restaurant did not disappoint!!

Came home to visit family. Both my husband and I lived for years in Georgetown. We were finally able to visit The Divide Restaurant on this visit! We had brunch on Saturday. The food was delish and the service was excellent. Not to pushy, but attended to our needs (like coffee refills) when needed. Absolutely love the décor!! The feeling of being in an underground gold mine warmed my heart as my Great Grandfather was a gold mining pioneer in the area over 100 years ago. Would highly recommend!!

Nice meal here!

The lamb was good, the adult grilled cheese tasty and the homemade brownie sundae to die for! Check it out - worth a trip.

In the foothills of the American River? You must eat here!

What a great surprise. We stopped here for lunch and had a burger and an " adult grilled cheese " sandwich. The burger was as good as any in the Sacramento area and the grilled cheese was unique, full of more than just cheese and tasted great. They have their own version of potatoes that was fantastic. Add to that the excellent and friendly service, a cozy, welcoming atmosphere and you've hit the jackpot! You will not be disappointed!

Must do on the Divide

The atmosphere alone is worth the stop, and the Food is incredible. I am a resident of the Divide, when I get company from off the hill, it is one of the must eat places that I take them to. Quality food, great service with a classy yet completely unique environment.

A gem in Georgetown

Saturday found us in Georgetown and in need of a sandwich or something. We talked to a local and he suggested The Divide! What a great place! Cute mine shaft type interior- friendly staff and great food. We split a pastrami sandwich that had the leanest tastiest pastrami I have had the pleasure of eating! We were in for a treat as they were specializing in Huckleberries from Montana! We tried the Huckleberry Cheesecake and that had a YUM factor of 10 !!!! Next morning we were back and tried their Huckeberry pancakes ! Another YUM factor of 10 - if you are out that way a stop here is a must!!! Good wine selection too!

Nice people, food not so great

We were a bit disappointed in the food at The Divide, after all the good reviews. Perhaps we just caught them on a bad night, or ordered the wrong things, but we did not enjoy our meals. My roast beef was at least 50% fat and the garlic mashed potatoes had a funky, musty taste. My husband ordered the special, Beef Stroganoff, which was served over thin spaghetti - an interpretation we had never seen before - and he did not enjoy it. But the staff and servers were very pleasant and friendly.

Great Dinner

My daughter and I had gone river rafting on the American River out of Lotus, and had a room at the American River Inn in Georgetown. We had never been in the area before. Based on the Trip Advisor reviews, we decided to try The Divide for dinner. We didn't want to get in the car, so we walked a mile out of town to The Divide. It did not disappoint! All we had were the Spinach Salad and the Caesar Salad, but they were divine. Perfect. If I am ever back in the area, I know my husband will love this place. Highly recommended.

Never fails!

Ive been here for both dinner and breakfast and they never cease to impress me! I'm thankful this place is local so I can visit here often. Such a gem in the middle of no where!

Top notch!

Each time we have eaten here it has been fabulous! I don't write food reviews, but this place was worth writing about! Great quality, great taste and great service (and I'm picky about service). I enjoy going to a restaurant where I can order something that is MUCH better than what I can make at home.

Great dinners and fabulous sandwiches

We love this restaurant..... dinners are delicious and beautifully presented. The menu for lunch has everything..... superb sandwiches, salads, and great sides. Try the side winders...... most delicious fries. Love the hot pastrami and my son loves their BLT.... not your " usual " sandwiches. A must try if you are near Georgetown.

Friendly welcoming and very tasty food

We nick-named this place the Divine cos we had such a lovely experience in there after unexpectedly getting snow delayed for an extra day in Georgetown. We had breakfast here and we're spoilt by the vast choice, friendly service, unlimited coffee top ups. We were brave and opted for the days specials and weren't disappointed at all.

Dining in Style in Georgetown

The Divide Restaurant is named for the ridge on which it sits_the Georgetown Divide_and it's an unexpected pleasure. Decorated like an old mine drift, the Divide serves uptown food in the back country of California. The pastrami and " grown-up grilled cheese " sandwiches are my favorites, and dinners are fitting for a classy date. Enjoy!

Dessert Disappointment

We ordered the brownie sundae to split. It took awhile to come but when it did arrive, it was a warm brownie with two types of sauces drizzled over a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a whipped topping plus sliced almonds. It was very attractive in presentation. We were so very disappointed in the taste that we did not even finish half the dessert despite sharing it. The brownie was an unattractive light brown color, not very chocolatey and unbaked. The ice cream did not have a good vanilla flavor and it was not very cold to contrast with the warm brownie. The whipped topping was so dense it did not taste as if it were real whipped cream. The sauces were very thin drizzles just for appearance rather than a good dense and rich chocolate fudge we anticipated. We were so disappointed and left more than half the $8.50 dessert on the table uneaten.

The Divide

This was our forth visit to the Divide and I just never tire of it. We must sing our praises for the pastrami, BLT, and the yummy grilled cheese sandwiches. I have dreamed of the grilled cheese! The mimosas are a delight and taste as good aesthetic look, too. The decor is so interesting and the welcoming staff cheerfully explain how it was done with wood from the fire. So nice to have a " nice " restaurant here in Georgetown.

Excellent dinner

We had our anniversary dinner at this place. The food and service was excellent, and not what you would expect from this small town. Also, the décor fits in so well with this area. I highly recommend this place if you want something out of the ordinary.

Great to have a good restaurant open up here in the little community of Georgetown

The food was delicious and well presented. The service was very attentive. Their menu is varied, so there is something for everyone. I would recommend stopping in for either breakfast or lunch, where you will get a hearty meal either way. Their portions are quite ample. We haven't tried their dinners yet, so looking forward to going there one of these evenings.

Experience Great Food in a Fun Atmosphere

The Divide is now serving breakfast, lunch AND dinner! So exciting. The interior of this restaurant is worth coming for, and the marvelous food and creative cuisine (and nummy specialty alcohol drinks) are frosting on the cake. Owners are super friendly and happy to greet everyone!

Second time here and it was excellent, like the first time!

We ate at the Divide this past weekend for the second time while we were visiting our daughter and some friends. We had a party of 6 and the service was excellent and between the owner and our waitress we were well taken care of. Food was excellent with 3 in the party having French Dips and 3 having different types of burgers with not one complaint from anyone. I had a Chili Burger with Fritos on top that was very tasty. I'd love to try there dinners next time we head up that way. If your in the Cool / Georgetown area stop by The Divide for a meal and I'm sure you won't regret it. Our friends say they als serve dynamite breakfasts.

A new restaurant that is great

We went to this restaurant for lunch on the suggestion of our daughter who lives in Cool, Ca. First off all the people who work there are very friendly and greeted us when we walked in. They were just changing over from breakfast to lunch service so the owner came out and explained that it would take 10 minutes or so before we could order but they can get our drink orders. No problem and I appreciate he told us about the wait. I ordered a Grown Up Grilled Cheese Sandwich that was excellent. It had different melted cheeses on French bread with bacon and avocado, best I ever had! My daughter had the same thing and loved it. Others in the party had French Dip and Burgers and said they were great. They also made a Bacon and Tomato Sandwich for my wife who liked it. The waitress was great and checked on us several times to make sure we had everything we needed. Right now The Divide only serves breakfast and lunch but will start a dinner service after the first of the year. When they start it I'll be making the 4 hour round trip drive to try it!
