We liked it!
We liked this venue despite not 'fitting in " due to our age! In fact we found the staff lovely and not at all " What on earth are they doing here? " !!! Friendly, sociable staff - & we will visit again! Thank you to the lovely girl for pointing out the Happy Hour cocktails and giving advice on the rum ones! We struck gold doing this recce for our friends! Yep, def recommend!
Disgusting staff
Rude and racist staff. I witnessed female bartender at approx. 2am drinking shots with some guy. When I asked for a drink she told me that bar was closed. Her colleagues were still serving. I waited a moment and she on the side and saw her serving more people. Than I witnessed who appeared to be club manager bringing her bottle from outside that she sarved to her lads. I hope ovner will review cctv and bith will be sucked. Absolutely disgusting!
Fantastic
Went with friends out for a drink, we decided to go to mockingbird and it did not disappoint. It was Wednesday early evening, nice music and atmosphere. At arrival I was greeted by Yasmin who was absolutely fantastic, couldn't ask more from staff ! We used photo booth, which was a bonus ! Good choice of drinks and cocktails 🍸

Disappointing
I've visited this establishment several times with friends and it's always been a bit of a letdown. Upon entry you're herded around and questioned by the unpleasant bouncers. " Get some girls " my mates were told recently when queuing up to enter. The bouncers have always been very really unfriendly here and bring a downer on the night. For me the biggest disappointment is the downstairs area which I actually think has a lot of potential. It's a cool space but the music down there is never good. By good I mean it never gets everyone going and moving, the tunes are quite generic and I've never been able to " dance the night away ". The vibe is just always off. I think part of the reason could be because it's free. Perhaps if you charged a small amount on the door you'd be able to create a proper vibe down there. There's no venue like yours anywhere nearby. As I said I think you've got a lot of potential to create a really unique establishment here. Just need to sort out a few things :)
Good food and drink, grating " hospitality "
Leaving my wife at our table where we had been enjoying our drinks, I went to the bar at around 18.25h to check progress on pizzas ordered 30 minutes previously. Meanwhile, a member of staff placed a notice on our table (of which we thought nothing). It transpired that the notice (facing away from us) stated that the table was reserved from 18.30h. Just after our pizzas arrived, the person for whom the table was reserved turned up to claim the table. Surprised, we moved to nearby bench seats (with no table). At the very least, this was very bad manners on the part of Tequila Mockingbird. Fortunately, the pizzas were delicious. Advice to diners: unless you're very hungry, order one pizza between two people.
Rude short security guy on the march 31st
I went to this venue because I was told it was a vibe and friendly. We approached the door and was asked for Id. I showed mine and my friend did not have id so the bouncer decided to take the opportunity to be extremely rude immediately. She mentioned she knew the owner kieran (to further verify her id because she didn't have one) and he was short, 'rude and unnecessarily sarcastic. Complete a hole! There's doing your job and being a jobsworth! He needs to be a bailiff or full time C u next Tuesday witness because his customer service is STRAIGHT BULL AND UNIVITING! I'll be calling the owner again to get better staff
Amazing bar lady
Shoutout to the female bartender who poured us 6 pints in 12 small glasses because they didn't have any - you made our night great! She should get a raise
Nice Staff + Good Drinks
Great place. The atmosphere was great and the staff were super down to earth and helpful. The staff especially a guy called Blaine were all really talkative and welcoming. They even helped choose drinks etc. Super friendly and the drinks were great.
Rude staff!
Walked in an empty bar, said hello, Asian woman behind the bar gave me eye contact, blanked me and continued talking to her colleague so walked out. Looking at the reviews this place isn't known for its service. Walked across the Bridge to the boat house and they couldn't have been friendlier. Come here employees to see how customer service is done!
Pretty decent place
Tequila Mockingbird is a strange venue, in that the upstairs is a relatively quiet, showroom like bar with slightly awkward staff. The downstairs is a dark & noisy tunnel with a lot more life to it. The cocktails were very much filled with ice, and hit or miss. However we had an enjoyable experience overall. I was going to make a comment that the cocktail prices were very high, but I see someone else has said they're cheap. This may be because I'm used to £6-8 cocktails in Scotland. Will possibly visit again but there are better deals on in Putney.
Bottomless Brunch experience
I came here last Saturday with 8 friends for a birthday celebration. I have only been to this venue on this one occasion, so I cannot comment on what it is like usually in terms of the food and drinks, and this review is purely based on the bottomless brunch experience. It was unfortunately the worst brunch I have been to in London in terms of the food and drink served. For £45pp we got x2 boxes of pizza for 9 people to share, with the quality being very bad. The majority of the group did not eat any of it. I would say a pizza from a supermarket would have been potentially of a better standard. The Prosecco was not nice either and obviously of very cheap quality, needing grenadine added to it to make it drinkable. The margaritas were out of a slush machine and consisted of a plastic cup mainly full of ice. The entertainment and music were good and carried this brunch experience, however definitely not worth £45pp I'm sad to say.
Aggressive and violent staff
Staff were incredibly aggressive and behaved in a disgusting way towards me. I was dragged up a flight of stairs by the bouncers for no reason. I emailed Tequila Mockingbird to complain and they haven't even bothered to reply. I am covered in bruises after being viciously attacked by staff who are meant to look after customers.

Holly and Matt behind the bar were the best thing about my night so friendly and accommodating :) Definitely worth a visit
First time in putney
Visited here with a friend, a nice little lounge as you enter, then a nice bar with booths, seating area under an arch. Had a nice mohito and a wander into the outside lounge and tried a lovely mojito and tequila rose, would reccoomend visiting here
Poor service
Great cocktails, reasonable prices during happy hour, only issue was other customers pushing in at the bar. Staff could see this was happening and served them anyway over those of us who observed the queuing system.
Disappointing
Liked the location and general setup, felt like a vibe. Sadly the cocktails were 90% ice… even if they are only £9, I'd rather spend £15 and get some bang for my buck. Ended up leaving after just 1 round. I would say this felt like a great place for 18-20 year olds, but not for us 30ish " oldies ". I would 100% choose Putney Pies next door over this place any day. Also, no resemblance to the amazing recipes in the book (in case anybody is wondering!) Basically, mehhh….
Fantastic welcome!
Came here with hubby for quick drink as my favourite book is by Harper Lee! Had to be done! Absolutely lovely welcome from Brooklyn. So polite and friendly! Bearing in mind we were 20 years older than most in there, we were made to feel very welcome! Great ambiance, crowd and music. Thanks
Great night out
We had a girl called Kathryn serving us and she was brill, 10 / 10 service, as well as another blonde girl who served r kid Joyce, service in general was very good, drinks were top drawer and atmosphere was fun. Great night out overall
Rude staff
Shocking rude experience. Staff were all over just absolutely rude ! I wouldn't go. Especially the manager / main man at Putney.
Very disappointing
We booked for a large group and got put in a cramped area, then were informed that not everyone would get a seat, and were treated rudely when taking a stool from another empty table that 'wasn't for us', even though no one else used it all night. We then waited 1hr40mins for our drinks to arrive, while other tables that ordered after us were served before us. We felt bad for the staff who seemed to be just trying to deal with the intense amount of people and were understaffed, yet this still doesn't excuse the evening we had.

Jay, fergie and Gemma gave us fantastic service. Our booking was slightly wrongly booked but all the staff were excellent at making us feel welcome. Couldn't recommend them higher.
Impressed
I'm not sure what all the bad reviews are about! We are not local and visited on a Friday night around 12am, the staff were all very friendly and the drinks were prepared very quickly. Fair prices for London, around £9 a cocktail. The bar had a good atmosphere and everything was clean.
Amazing
absolutely brilliant venue for drinks. The most amazing cocktails we had were made from Alice !!! HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend the Disney princess cocktail! thank you so much for a lovely evening
SHOCKING CUSTOMER SERVICE!!
me and my friend came here on 29 / 08 / 2020 for evening drinks, got there just after 5pm. A nice barman took us to our table, we ordered our 4 drinks as it was happy hour, was drinking through our first drink then I needed to go to the ladies. So I took myself off, come back to my table to no drinks. The manager had come over and moved our table over to be next to our friends that came in after us, he then spilt our drinks all over the floor. A lady came over to clean up so my friend assumed they was going to go get more drinks to be replaced.. i came back up from going to the ladies and see that we had no drinks so I went over to the bar to find out if they was getting replaced and the MANAGER who spilt them said no!! I kept calm, said I was happy to stay and spend more money but wanted them ones to be replaced as they was his fault, he kept saying no and said I had to LEAVE!!!! The security then nicely took me out and would not let me back in. I'm so so shocked with this behaviour it was disgusting. NEVER returning to this bar again.
Racist Mamager
Manager rude a racist avoid!! Went for drinks Saturday evening around 7pm and because I asked not to be close to other tables due to social distancing i was turned away

A few close friends and myself fancied a drink at our local Tequila Mockingbird (first time since lockdown). I have some great memories of this place, it's cheery atmosphere, excellent service, good quality cocktails and reasonable prices.. yet the presence of a manger (who I'm assuming is a new addition) really put a dampener on the evening. This man (a short fellow with long brown hair) seemed determined to cut through the merriness at every possible opportunity (really bizarre behaviour for a manager working in the service industry). He spent the evening patrolling the bar wearing a scowl, flashing dirty looks at patrons, listening in on conversations and aggressively berating the service staff for crimes such as pausing for a minute's chat with customers. His behaviour was totally out-of-place with the lighthearted tone that this bar is well known for, so much so that I feel prompted to create an account so I can make it known. There was a palpable sense that customers (not just our small group) and staff alike seemed to be walking on eggshells around this guy. Simply put, it is no way to behave and I left feeling quite shocked at his conduct - it has left quite a sour taste on what would otherwise have been a great little evening amongst friends. This bar used to be a favourite of mine, yet now I find myself considering if the good times to be had here are gone which is a real shame.
Rude Aggressive Manager No Social Distancing
I myself am a bartender in Putney and appreciate the stress and struggles of working during this difficult time. Upon arriving we were told only one more group would be let upstairs with us, he then proceeded to let 20 extra people into the small room upstairs. I said I was not comfortable with this and he told me 'I don't care I have to make my money' to which the bartender proceeded to also be rude to me. Manager in white T-shirt. Avoid this place. Lovely blonde girl as bartender though.
Shocking customer service
Bartender or manager not sure which he was, got very aggressive & hostile when after replacing our cocktails which still didn't taste right, replied ' they are my own recipe' very abruptly made us feel very uncomfortable about telling him our drinks didn't taste right, we tried to drink them but they was not nice and so we had to leave because his attitude towards us was very nasty and so we left. The cocktails are cheap & nasty just like him.
Favoritism / Racial rudeness
I (white 20s female) was meeting with male friend (black 30s male) at Tequila mockingbird. He arrived before me so he walked in to get us a table. He ordered 2 drinks at the bar from the bartender, but when the manager saw him he said " we're fully booked, no tables ". My friend found it weird how he was able to order drinks without the staff knowing they're fully booked, but he walked out the building without fuss, called me to explain and said I should walk in to see if they'll say the same. Said and done, I walk in and say I want a table for me and friend that will be here soon, and I'm immediately given a table. Tell my friend to come in (who's clearly very reluctant to even come back). Once he's in I tell him I want to go and talk to the manager because this annoys me too. I go to the bar and the manager tells me " I did you a favor, you should be happy ". When I asked him about the reserved table I was given he had no explanation he just pretended I wasn't there. I said " Hello? " " Excuse me? " No acknowledgment he kept making his drink pretending I wasn't there. I shook my head and ordered 2 drinks from the waitress next to him that at least had the balls to look at me, and 10 minutes later the manager came to our table with a card machine to take the payment. My friend had to apologise to me and say sorry I can't pay that because of his behavior, understandably so, even I felt reluctant to and once again tried to explain calmly to the manager " I hope you understand how this can be taken offensively? ". He stood quiet. Waited for the receipt to print and said " enjoy your drinks " and walked off. Absolutely disgusting to be really fair. As a manager realizing his mistake you should at least own up to your mistake and DO something to rectify it like a man and a real boss. Not come with a card machine in his face asking for money after you've just denied him access (which he was then able to regain in the company of a white woman?). The female bartender I spoke to was lovely and very apologetic trying her best to apologize even though she had no clue what was going on and you could tell she didn't feel comfortable saying anything standing next to her boss. but her kindness was the only good experience of this place. First time leaving a review as I'm always very understanding, but this was too blatantly rude it can't go unnoticed.
BEST TEQUILA MOCKINGBIRD EVER
The staff are incredibe, especially the cocktail bartenders, and the manager Juilo the cocktails were amazing, thank you for making an amazing night out happen for me & my friends.
Amazing Night Out
The atmosphere, cocktails and customer service was incredible, am definitely coming back. Its an excellent location for friends, family and Co workers to go out for drinks.
Diluted Drinks - Avoid
My partner and I hardly ever drink vodka martinis so we were looking forward to them. The barman put on a good show with all his shaking and pouring, but it must have been mostly water, because we got no buzz from our drinks whatever. Total ripoff, and we'll never be back. Shame, because the place has atmosphere.
Great bar!!
The bar was really pretty inside and had a great atmosphere, the staff there was very lovely both bar staff created drinks for us that weren't on the menu which I think is great customer service. Will be back for sure !!!
Who's living room is this
Booked a table for 8 but were given a table for 4 and left to figure it out for ourselves. Music choice is absolutely laughable. The speakers have no bass at all which just hurts your ears when cranked to the extreme volume that they seem to like. At least the cocktails were drinkable.
Pretty terrible
We went there because it was 2for1 everyday until 9pm. The place is really small though, four of us were crammed around a table that was made for two people. You could see why the cocktails were 2for1. They weren't amazing, tasted extremely weak and weren't very exciting or particularly to my taste! The staff weren't very friendly either. I wouldn't go there again
Awesome Bar, uber cool DJ
Best DJ South of Hadrian's Wall (on Thursdays)... cool club, chilled vibe. (This last sentence is just to make the review more than 100 characters as required by TA)
Brilliant experience!
Jakub the bartender was amazing, really fun and entertaining as well as passionate about the cocktails he made which were delicious. We had a wonderful time and we will be coming back for sure!
Horrendous experience
We had friends over from Greece, and decided to call in for a cocktails. We ordered Cosmopolitan's (4) at £9 each. Unfortunately we paid up front before we tasted them. Our feedback to the bar, was far from complimentary, the bar man was apologetic and whom I can only assume was the manager, intervened to say it WAS a Cosmopolitan without even tasting it!!! It was vile. When we complained to the manager that it was not a Cosmopolitan he promptly took offence and took my glass and threw away the contents. He subsequently summoned the doorman to remove us from the bar!!! I have never in my life experienced such an unprofessional reaction, to which the four of us regarded was a valid complaint!! If your going to sell cocktails, then you should be able to make them to a customer satisfaction. With us all being 50+ in age group and have all lived and worked in London, I think we know what we're talking about. Would not recommend this bar
