Hope the word gets around

We drove by this market several times before going in. It was surprisingly active on a Sunday afternoon. Lots of cute restaurants, home baked goods, craft beer, lobster rolls, brick oven pizza, and lots of little shops with local home made soaps, artwork, furniture, clothing, gift items, jewelry and more. It needs to get more people, both customers and more vendors, to really take off. I hope it makes it - I'll bet it is a great place for al fresco dining in the summer months. The craft beer place looked awesome!

Awesome Beer Garden

They opened an outdoor beer garden a few months ago and it is great! There are about a dozen craft beers on tap and a good selection of bottled beers and wine. Two big flat screen TVs above the bar are a nice touch for an outdoor bar. My kids spend a lot of time at the SoNo ice rink across the parking lot and the Beer Garden has been a great place to hang out before / after the games. They are only open on the weekends.

Perhaps it was the time of day.

Stopped by on the way to the beach on an early Sunday, late-August afternoon, when the sun was hottest, but I'm sure folks were elsewhere. The stalls indoors were interesting, and the one women's boutique I stopped by had very reasonable pricing. If there was live music, I would have considered coming back to try the food and the outdoor courtyard bar.

A bit hard to find, but worth the effort

Opened in December 2012, this converted warehouse is now home to dozens of boutique stalls and some tasty restaurants. It's only open Thursday nights (for dining) and Fridays - Sundays, but the vibe is fun and the food is really good... everything from raw oysters to fish-n-chips, from pizza to salads. The fresh pasta shop and two different bakeries are must-sees. And Chocopologie is de riguere! Parking is a bit tight in front of the building, bt don't park in the snarky ice-rink next door.

Eclectic marketplace

This is a wonderful eclectic marketplace. If you are looking for a one of a kind gift. The vendors are so varied there is something for everyone. If you are there for the food, you can get a great meal on the run or sit and enjoy the atmosphere and at time some entertainment. I enjoy the local fish monger, cheese merchant and baker. You can buy soap, unique photography,. Toys of old and get a message while your there.

I really want them to succeed!

I've been to SoNo Marketplace a few times since they opened and really like it! I only marked it as " very good " instead of " excellent " because, lately, they seem to be getting sparse in terms of their vendors. The food options are terrific - just about anything you could want, you can get. I know that the idea of the place is for the vendor areas to " rotate " with new vendors regularly, but it seems like they've had more and more empty spaces every time I go. I think the fact that they have odd hours and there are days that vendors are there but food purveyors aren't (and they're the big draw) is confusing to people. I know that they'll be having a big outdoor farmer's market once the weather gets better and I'm looking forward to that - hoping it also helps to draw the crowds! I hope that people will continue (or begin to) stop in and do some shopping and eating - it's a great resource in Norwalk and surrounding towns, but I'm afraid that it may not last given the traffic I've seen the last couple of times! Go, go, go!!!
