Awful, Harassed With No Help
We were consistently harassed by different groups of boys throughout the night and nobody did a thing to help (including security, DJ, or bartenders)
Extremely racist and rude
WORST PLACE EVER. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS IF YOU ARE AN INTERNATIONAL STUDENT. Worst experience of my life. Bouncers are extremely racist and doesn't know how to talk to people specially girls. And apparently this club makes its own rules and doesn't accept international IDs and make you feel like an illegal immigrant. I showed my BRP three times and the bouncer started asking personal information which was extremely humiliating and then started screaming and denied the entry. Will never go to this place again and even will encourage others to not to choose this place for their weekend parties. There are much better clubs in this area like Rosie's where the bouncers are polite and treat people from other ethnicities well. Never ever waste your money on this club to just get humiliated by some illiterate and unaware giants
Good time
Music was good Francis was a g he's a nice guy the drinks were cheap too decent music nice time I liked it a lot
THEY STOLE MY JACKET
They stole my jacket!!! I emailed them twice asking for it back and asking for it back but they never responded. This was a month ago i doubt they still have it. Anyway that was almost 30$ and even tho the club itself was fine, the experience was ruined by cloakroom staff and management. Do not recommend to leave your stuff there.
Racist Doorman
Went into the club and was asked to go into a side room to be searched. The doorman that performed the search were police and explained their reason. However on leaving the room to go into the club after a negative search a doorman of approx 5ft 6 in height sticky with a beard and stick back hair in top not of Pakistani origin said to me ' You White piece of trash " I was so offended that I left the club after paying my £10 entrance fee. The comment from this 1 doorman has greatly let down the profesionalism of his colleagues.
Racists
Bouncers are extremely racist. Didn't let a friend in because he didnt have a european ID (I also didnt have one and they did let me in), they were beating up a guy outside the club.. (guess the color of his skin..) and threatened to kill one of my friends for recording it. Do yourself a favor and don't go to this f.. club.
Racist, Violent and Unsafe
Extremely Racist and full of violent Racist Bouncers. My friend group went yesterday, and they didn't let two of us in because our IDs were not " European ".. while I've been entering the club and so many others using the same Nationalized ID I have. When one of the bouncers did let my Mexican friend in, he let out a Racist slang calling him " Pablo Escobar ". All while, a black man was being beat up violently outside the club by the bouncers. When my friend tried to record the incident, one of the bouncers threatened to kill him, lest he deleted the video. Pryzm might have a disco room in 2021, but their racism and attitude is straight from the 70s
DON'T GO
Be very careful when you go to this club... We went yesterday with some friends and I had never seen that in my life! The bouncers called my mexican friend " Pablo Escobar ", didn't accept one of us bc of skin colors, and said " You're dead " to another one of us. Never coming back to this place again, and neither should you!
Pryzm night out
Amazing staff and amazing music, there's this one bartender in curve, I've forgotten his name but he kinda looks like digga d, but he's amazing, always friendly and makes my night, always has so much energy and a smile on his face, Deffo my fab bartender in there so far, would Defford recommend pryzm Birmingham for a night out, and to the djs omg they are amazing especially Ben ❤
Disappointed
Pryzm had good vibes for my first visit but as soon as we got a drink and went to the main dance area, one of the security guards was intimidating my boyfriend all night by staring and leaning over him into his personal space because of his colour, I did not expect this experience especially for it being in Birmingham with such a diverse amount of people
yikes
If your thinking of going here any night, don't bother - not sure what the dj was doing but it certainly wasn't his job changing the music every 2 seconds.
Good atmosphere
Good atmosphere but the staff were ALL very moody! Hard to get drinks and when you do they roll eyes at you!
Mixed feelings!!
We were booked for a dream boys hen party, I thought the seating was ok although we were split from some of our party, the entrance drink was just ok, the show was ok but not your usual dream boy dance show, it was just a few dancers who basically just got up some hens and did things to them in stage, I felt a little uncomfortable watching one dance scene, Tasha was the queen who compared she was good. After the show we all had to leave our seats. We asked if we could go back to them (this wasn't a cheap night) we were told if no one else had booked them, we walked around looking for somewhere to sit and have a drink, all of the seats were roped off, absolutely ridiculous. We then went upstairs to the cheesy 80s music: again all the seats were roped off, I asked the DJ if we could use the VIP lounge as there was about 20 of us and he said to go ahead. This changed our evening completely as we were all ready to go back to our hotel for drinks, we then had an amazing night, we spent a fortune on drinks, did lots of dancing and had lots of fun as a group, roping off seats is an absolute nightmare and leaving the odd stool and table free is not good enough. The biggest disappointment was the toilets, I used the ones by the stage (up the stairs) it's a massive room and in first impression was good but these were filthy, it was early in the evening so really couldn't blame the customers. The toilets were dirty and when I went to wash my hands and there was no soap in any of the dispensers!! It's unthinkable. The toilets by the 80s room was also the same, every thing was tacky and grubby, no soap, i'm so pleased I had hand sanitizer with me but couldn't wait to get back to the hotel to clean my hanfs with soap!! There really is no excuse to not even have one soap dispenser working. I was impressed with the security in entering the club.
Lia
Lia was amazing. Deserves a raise on a real. Tequila shots were disgusting The tall ugly one deserves sacking rah swore at us stupid man one in the curve
Horrible experience
Bouncers where racist towards 2 foreign guys behind their backs then continued to mock them as they entered the venue. Me and my friends where not aloud in because I wore a gold necklace (which was under my shirt) I then went back to leave my necklace at home and on arrival the bounce said " not tonight mate. We already know you wear jewellery " do not understand the logic behind this. Rude arragont door staff. Would not recommend at all
Peace of plastick food foil in the drink
I ordered 2xJack Daniel + Coke. When I take my first sip, I felt in my mouth something. It was a peace of food foil which was in the ICE. I come back to bar reclaim my drink. They didn't say even sorry. Just give me a new drink without any apologies. And taste of Stella in plastick bottle was also a nightmare. Please, inform your staff that when you fill the fridges, you have to put cold drinks in front and drinks which are not cold and are from cellar needs to go back. I can recommend this bar and was the last visit ever.
Miserable, rude, waste of money
After paying £500 for a booth on Saturday 16th November, in which we were crammed into one booth after specifically asking for two, we were greeted by miserable staff which immediately made us feel like a burden. After being seated the bottles came to the table by 2 people with sparklers as it was an occasion, and they just stood there waiting for them to go out and only provided 2 small bottles of mixers. We continuously asked for more to the point where we ended up having to go get them ourselves _ not a big deal but it's not the service we had paid for. The R & B room was shocking, full of people in Adidas T-shirt's and trainers (mostly converse), and the majority of the music played was pop (The DJ seemed to really enjoy the artist Pitbull). We had a bouncer in front of our booth just staring at us and making it awkward, and when we wanted to order more drinks we were told to finish the ones we had first?? I ended up leaving early. The venue states 'luxury' in its Instagram and Facebook description but it's anything but. It was full of people who looked like they had nipped in after a full day at college, or after a PA meeting. Spend your money on a booth in the Arcadian, better value for money in both what you get, and service.
Awful
Absolutely disgusting service on Thursday the 31st. Paid over £15 for two double drinks never received them and was sent on a wild goose chase around all the bars to get a refund. And never even got one. I was even given a fake email to message.
Great evening out
Physically a very nice club love the layout and design. Security were very thorough but extremely polite and friendly so to be honest I ain't complaining. My only critism is the bar staff - IGNORANT! Particularly a Chinese looking guy that was working Saturday night at the Brunch event. Extremely rude, and constantly eye rolling. No need for it at all
Sexually promiscuous bartender
I recently had the truly unique and distasteful experience of Pryzm Birmingham customer service. Back over the summer I visited and as I went to the bar to order another tequila shot, the bartender quite inappropriately called me " sexy ". In a state of shock I backed my drink like the Russian tease I am and left. Rather perturbed I returned to the dance floor to continue strutting my stuff and unbeknownst to me a pal of mine has given him my number, now I realise this isn't the fault of your staff but, alas alack he he proceeded to text me into the hours referring to himself as a " chocolate man " and myself a " naughty girl ". In order to appease me as a loyal customer I suggest you provide me with several free tequila shots and a distinct lack of sexual harassment upon my next visit.
Disgusting customer service!!
Me and 3 of my friends visited Pryzm on Friday 13th September for my birthday, we walked up to vip and saw an empty booth so we sat down knowing full well that it was somebody else's booth, so when they returned I asked them nicely if we could sit with them if I bought a couple of bottles beens as it was my birthday and they kindly allowed us to do so, I spent £165 on a bottle of Disaronno and a bottle of Prosecco, the bartender Callum said that he can't sell me the bottles if we're not in a booth so I told him that the guy who's booth it was said it was ok that we sit there, so he went ahead a took the payment on my card, after waiting quite a while I was about to ask where my bottles were but 4 or 5 security guards came over and said this isn't our booth and they escorted us out the booth, I went over to Callum and said I want a refund as I haven't received my bottles, he said 'we can't refund card payments' now I know that is a load of crap because I work in hospitality myself you can reverse card payments on the till system. I went down the the front desk and got an email that I will write to as well, I told the girl that it was my birthday and I'm absolutely disgusted with how I was being treated, the manager did NOTHING to try and rectify the problem he didn't even try and speak to me but he was very happy to speak to his bartender Callum, I am now £165 down, I was made to look like an idiot in front of my friends and my birthday was ruined, i want my money back and I won't stop until I get it.
Best night ever!!
Came for a small hen party. 6 of us. Booked in advance a VIP booth. We had booth 12 on the mezzanine in the main arena. It was a fantastic location. Right in the thick of it, the atmosphere was amazing. Reading previous comments re staff, we found everyone friendly and professional. The booth hosts were particularly attentive and so friendly. They did a great job. Music was exactly what we wanted. We knew it. Easy to dance to, be sexy and just have a really great time with friends. Avicci, Purple Disco Machine etc.. The DJ was excellent. He had the crowd in the palm of his hand. The sound quality and lighting was the best I've ever experienced. I thought the experience was the best and excellent value for money. It was a one time event for us and Prysm nailed it 100%.
It's good but.
Pryzm is a very nice nightclub but the customer service in the cloackroom and the security guys are very rude, speaking their minds and shouting to customers that are just trying to find their jackets or security guards being rude as well to people that are trying to find jackets or things left in the cloakroom. I work in customer service and I just think that's just unprofessional
Excellent service!!
Just come back from a Hen Do I organised. One of our events was booked in Pryzm nightclub during the day. There were a lot of issues with the company but Chris at Pryzm was amazing! Opening the bar for us and being very accommodating whilst trying to sort the issue out. He couldn't do more to make our event go without any more problems. At the end he welcomed us to attend the evening there and gave us a VIP booth and free entry! He didn't have to do that but we made use of it and attended that evening and partied till The early hours!! All the staff we dealt with were very friendly and helpful! Security is strict but can understand why! A great night had by all!! Thank you!!
bloody awful
overpriced, oversold, music i've heard for the last 21 years of my life. nothing new. out with pryzm.
Terrible
Went to pryzm not long ago on Friday.. In the RnB room the Dj played hardcore hip hop and allowed moshing... the Dj then warned the crowd that he would change the music however he continued playing the music I fell and hurt my ankle on the dance floor thankfully the friendly doormen saved me and offered to take me to the first aider also then told me I could ask to get v. I. P I then enquired about the v. I. P and the hostesses were so rude and ignored me even when I tried to approach them.. The doorman then took me downstairs too see the manager on the front door who was short dark indian wearing a black coat who just ignored me and walked off.. Will not be coming back
Good usually
Normally have a good night out in Pryzm! but when I went this weekend the boys toilet was in a vile condition. It is never normally like this, but there was sick and faeces all over the floor and walls. Very shocked by this
Shocked at how bad it was
Where to begin? We went on a hen do with a group of 10 paying £30 each. Normally I only write reviews for great service, but this is a time where I feel that I must warn others not to waste their money. By far the worst part of the evening was the drag act who hosted the event. The performance was about 30 years out of date substituting any real comedy cheep laughs at the expense of others (including the gays community, trans community, women in general and people with mental heath disorders). I'm aware there is an element of offence to drag acts and have seen many before who were hilarious. However this act was openly transphobic treating it as something to be mocked. There were also jokes about anorexia and a whole song about a sex without consent portrayed for laughs. I really don't wish to come across as a typical over sensitive millennial but this act over stepped what is acceptable in 2018. The show itself is not a show. It is four men with six packs taking it turns to come out to a song each. No choreography or effort put in but relies on cheep tricks. Do not expect magic mike, just boys who spend too much time at the gym and took a street dance class when they were kids. The buffet is frozen finger food such a chicken nuggets and chips which would be more akin to a three year olds birthday party. For £30 you can have an amazing night in Birmingham but absolutely not here. Please save your money and dignity.
good event shame about the food
totally let down by 'buffet ' how a roll over hot dog and a few wedges can be called a buffet is a joke. show was good and we had a good time thou and night club was good. not sure it's worth £30 thou.
Let Down
We booked the Dream Boys for a Hen Night, and never again. Free buffet ? luke warm hot dog and couple of wedges. We sat in a booth comfy seating but the so called Manageress told us we have to move to tin deckchair seating on the floor area ? £30 total waste of money. I complained but was fobbed off. We just had to make the most of a dreadful night. Dream boys were ok but nothing to write home about and also the drag queen. Felt sorry for them.. Dont waste your money on this venue, it looks great on the web site but trust me its nothing like it says. I will be trying to call Dream boys website for an apology but i dont think i will be getting anywhere fast !
Awful
Tried to finish off a good night out here and once through security found that money had been taken from my wallet whilst approving ID. Would not recommend or be careful when entering!!
Great night out
- Amazing night out - Great atmosphere, always a good night out - Bouncers are lovely - Dont have to wait long at the bar
ME: DJ, could you play some Cascada tunes, please? DJ: sure mate, just give me a sec
I visited Pryzm on a Saturday night with some friends as I'd heard that it is one of the biggest clubs you can find, so was keen to see what the fuss was about. The level of security provided there was insane and they checked everyone's ID and even took photos of us, just in case. What can I say, the club is massive, there are at least four rooms so everyone can find something that they like. My fav was the 3rd floor, where they played the best cheesy tunes from 80s and 90s. Loved that!
BIRTHDAY
Went to see stand up comedy which was good, 2 drinks £15, I ordered kraken rum which was double and it was definitely fake. I took it back but the new drink tasted just like coke again which is a shame considering on the appearance of the club. Full bottle of ciroc £150 and grey goose double that. Makes me smile how they make their money. The actual club is decent and the music is OK.
Amazing bouncers!
Had a great night at Pryzm, not too packed and good atmosphere but would mostly like to say a massive thank you to the bouncers who were working on the door last night - after being pestered and verbally abused by a disgusting guy in the queue last night I told the bouncers and he was immediately removed no questions asked. Thank you so much was excellent service!
Dreamboys
This is NOT a compliant about Pryzm Night Club. It's the Dreamboys show that is shown there. I went with a friend to watch Dreamboys and it was the worse thing I've ever paid money to see. To keep it brief for the two hours you sit there you have a Drag artist peform for about 1 hour intermittently, the 3 Dreamboys perform separately for a total of 20 mins inbetween, in their cheap pants and not a Dreamboy of any form, don't be fooled by the pictures. Food consist of a hot dog and cold chips. Cocktail is some sort of Fanta drink. I tried to get a refund from Dreamboys head office but they were not interested. Awful.
Decent night out
I visit on student night which is usually a Tuesday or Thursday when drinks are cheapest. Drinks on the weekend are expensive, along with entry. Love that there is a choice of rooms catering for all different tastes of music Staff could be friendlier
Not friendly
This is a good place with multiple dance floors and variety in music. However, staff here is a pain to talk to and not friendly at all. They do not have locker facility. They ask you to leave your belongings outside and don't take any responsibility for them. Looks like these belongings are second income for them because it is always never there when you return. Entering in the pub is like you are migrating to another planet, they ask you for so many ID's, a shame.
Always return
One of my fave clubs in Birmingham, great atmosphere, great variety of music and I can't complain about the prices. The entry fee is abit harsh but drinks are average. Queuing is sometimes an issues and the smoking area isn't enjoyable as it is so small but other than that I cannot complain. High security, always feel safe.
Too much
A tenner to get in plus around 8.50 for a drink.... If your with your missus or its a friends birthday and your getting them drinks its easy to pay over 100 pound without noticing. The security to get in is like an airport security which means queuing for upwards of 30 minutes. Depends if your safety or getting soaked in the rain is more on your mind at the time. Bouncers aren't all that friendly or helpful. However, the music and club layout saves this from being a 1 star. Would probably be my go to place if I was loaded or had some pills.
Amazin
Came here for a lads night out with my mates and the place was buzzed! Unfortunately I felt ill while in the smoking area and ended up collapsing and goin unconcious dont remember much but my lads said that the staff were amazin and the Paramedics who work at the Club are pros an looked after me when I had a breathin problem Amazin Club man they defo care bout their visitors!
Good Music, Over Zealous and Intimidating Security on the door
If you want to have a good time with great music this is the place to be on Broad street, an old fashioned type of nightclub with several floors and different rooms catering for differing tastes of music, the drinks ain't cheap in here and the club attracts younger people. My big issue with this nightclub is the so called professional security at this club, it is like going through customs at the airport getting into this place, not a bad thing really given that this venue does not have a great reputation in terms of violence and disorder in this guise or the previous guise of Gatecrasher. Security on the door here are not professional acting in an intimidating way towards club goers,
Best club in Birmingham
It's huge it's great the play good music ain't a minimum card spend it's fantastic go go go here. Never had a bad night out here
DREAMBOYS SHOW
What a let down! We booked a £30 / ticket hen party for the Dreamboys show. The organisation was terrible and the attitude of the staff left a lot to be desired. We had to go and make enquiries about the 'free buffet' and the 'free cocktail' as were not given the food vouchers by the doorman when we checked in nor given any information about where to obtain the cocktail. Asking bar staff proved equally difficult, we were just sent from one to another as some were clueless. The 'free buffet' turned out to be hot dogs and wedges! I cannot comment what the nightclub is like later on as, by the time the show finished, and could not find a single person serving on the bar for the whole 10 minutes we waited, we decided not to give them any more of our business and couldn't wait to move on. I have complained to the Dreamboys organisation (as that is who we paid our money to) but there customer service stinks and they are just passing the buck and blaming the venue. Although the boys themselves were OK, I would not give this organisation time or money again.
Great night - fantastic music and atmosphere
I visited Pryzm on a Saturday night with some friends. I'd heard a lot about this nightclub so was keen to see what the fuss was about. We arrived at the club at midnight and it took ten minutes from joining the queue to getting through security. I've never experienced the level of security provided here anywhere else which did make me feel safer being in the venue. Everyone was ID checked - so make sure you take some! There are four rooms; main room (house), R'n'B room, cheese room and another small room called 'House' which played a mixture of music. The selection of music was great and we had a great night moving from room-to-room. The cheese room was a highlight! Entry was £8 between 11:30pm and 1am (?), about £10 after and less before. Prices for drinks were as expected (£6.20 for a double vodka and mixer, £5.20 for a Kopparberg, etc.). Overall we had a great night with great music and atmosphere.
Fabulous cocktail lesson!
Otis and his crew were amazing. Can't remember the others names, sorry. One guy is doing a law degree. So much fun was had by all. Thank you for a great experience. X
Easter weekend
Brilliant venue, pricey to get in considering place was not as busy as expected, drinks are expensive!! Venue should definitely consider more events with known djs etec
Birthday Night out
My friends and I arrived at Pryzm at roughly 12:30am. This was a good time to arrive as the queue wasn't too long and the security checking process was done efficiently but rapidly. The staff were lovely, the drinks tasted amazing (and they were reasonably priced) and the club as a whole was a great experience. There were three rooms, each a different size playing a different genre of music, so every person's tastes in our group was accommodated for. I would recommend buying tickets online beforehand as it makes the entrance process quicker.
Hen do VIP Area
We recently booked a Hen Do group of about 16 of us into 2 booths in Pryzm for a Sat night. We paid £30 each for entry, VIP booths, and a number of mixers and drinks. It was nice to see security at the entrance seemed strict, it made it feel safer, ID was required and scanned, then through an airport scanner. We gave our chief bridemaids name to one of the staff that quickly checked us off the guest list and had a member of bar staff meet us, she gave our bridemaid a flare so we could follow her through the crowd, we also got wrist bands to enter VIP. The bar staff brought the alcohol to the tables quickly and they brought it over in a showy way with lit flares and everything it kind of added to the experience. There were plenty of drinks for what we paid for and the music was great. We danced and we danced and we danced, the music was non stop we had our own little patch to dance in so it was just our group and security man was always nearby. We did have some men join us in the area which we didn't exactly invite and I was worried about our drinks / bags and coats etc maybe security should keep a better check on wristbands. A fight did break out about 3am near the bar that seemed to involve half the club but security were on it pretty quickly and the night went on as before. All in all I'd rate this as a value for money good night out especially if in a VIP group.
Group Night Out
Booked a table for birthday celebrations, as we were visiting Birmingham. There is heightened security in the doors with thorough checks. Even though it was a fairly long process (almost like airport security) it was good as it assured you that systems were in place to keep people safe. The security staff were also friendly. The club has a few rooms playing a variety of music. We had a table behind the DJ booth, overlooking the whole club which was a nice touch. The music in the main room was chart music, did not venture into the other rooms. The packages were fairly good for what you got, a few bottles and mixers. Would recommend this club if in Birmingham and want a night out. I'm not a clubbing regular but this was quite a good night.
So, so
I've got to say that I was impressed at the level of security and also the friendliness of the staff at the entrance. However, I found the inside of the club too easy to not get immersed in. The place was packed liked sardines and every space of the venue felt like a corridor, with each of the areas unappealing to my taste.
Not a fan
Upon arrival I was impressed with the level of security before you even get in the club, with plenty bouncers and staff telling you where to go and what to do for such a big club it did make me feel safer. Inside it is so huge I think there needs to be more signs to tell you where each room is and the toilets and smoking shelters as we felt like we walked around in circles most the night. The drinks were very expensive here it was excepted but was not worth it. Staff didn't seem very attentive or happy to be at work. It wasn't the most enjoyable night I think it's hyped up as more exciting than it really is.
