YUCK
Bacon cheeseburger... BURNT. Small fries.. undercooked / super greasy, I only ate two! All for 10$ GROSS! I wish I had checked the food in the parking lot before I left, I would have asked for my money back.
What a mess!
Our visit started off with listening to staff argue about chefs or lack there of. Like you'll read in most of the reviews here, there's just way too many items on the menu for such a small place (hence, all frozen / reheated). Not only that, the menu is extremely disorganized (look at my pic). Food items listed with ice cream items and so on. It's true chaos. We went for pizza, and were told that pizza was only available on Mondays and Tuesdays. On Mondays and Tuesdays, of all days!! We ended up purchasing onion rings. They were frozenly delicious.
Classic SnackBar with lots of choices!
Basic Snack bar fare and more! Fun outdoor " creemee " (soft serve) and hard ice cream outdoor windows for service and picnic tables to enjoy your meal or treats! When it's rainy or cold you can take advantage of the indoor picnic tables! The veggie quesadilla is especially good! The fries are good (not frozen) !
Real NYC Pizza
Real NYC Pizza in Vermont! He is from long island NY. Perfect thin crust pizza. The ice cream is great too.
Yuch
Stopped here for a quick bite. All I have to say is... if you're going to charge me $11.00 for a half a dozen scallops you should probably have someone prepare them who actually knows how to cook. They were so over cooked they were hard and crunchy and dry as an old boot. I also ordered small fried mushroom which were oddly NOT overcooked but had a strange artificial garlic and / or onion flavor. Would I eat food here again? Not sure....20.00 is alot for food I really didnt like or want to eat. They should stick to ice cream that doesnt rely on a deep fryer....
Not as good as it use to be
Stopped in for a late night creamies with the family. Price has gone up but not to bad, but they didn't mix the flavors very well and they didn't have chocolate or twist available.
Great Place!
My family lives locally. This place is definitely a favorite! The staff is always nice and pleasant. Food is awesome and the creemees are always delicious!
Great place
Love it we go every year always good for and you get more then you pay for. Ice creams are great and lots varieties.
Waiting Patiently for Opening
Really good burgers, gyro, Rueben,.. CREEMEES, especially maple. Please open soon, so we can do take away. Best cure for I don't wanna cook or go out.
Quick stop
Clean and well organized shop and snack bar and gas station Used the restroom which was very clean. Staff was attentive and helpful. There was a great variety of snacks and products as well as sandwiches, microwaveable foods, pastries, and beverages.
Great snack bar
Eating inside or out, there is a variety of food available from pizza to ice cream treats and more. The kids like to pick their favorite flavor a from the hundred different options. Pizza tastes good and slices are available.
great pizza
We were staying at campground right across from snack bar so we opted for pizza one night for dinner. Very fresh and tasty, had the works, lots of toppings and made up quickly.
Maybe OK for a quick lunch
Not a lot to base an entire review on but here is what we had. Two hamburgers that were like over cooked hockey pucks. Chocolate milk that was not very cold or chocolate like. Fries were OK. Condiments are outside in the hot sun and hard to serve. Would not stop again.
Antony makes legit NY pizza
Once we found out about Antony's pizza, we became regulars. We have tried many of his pizzas and so far have not gotten even a okay pizza... all of them are way better than a road side snack shop should be. It's the best pizza in the area by far. Not really sure about the rest of the menu offered because really why order anything else? Though having said the knots are really addictive.
Decent
This is a decent place to grab a bite to eat. I love their grilled cheese burger. The fries and honey mustard are good. Love the variety of options for ice cream - there's usually about a dozen hard ice cream flavored each week. The options for cremees are endless! My favorite is peanut butter and raspberry. There are a lot of food items to chose from - sure to find something that everyone is interested in. I understand it is a snack bar and a seasonal job - but they would get more customers and serve better quality food if it wasn't run by a bunch of teenagers.
UNPROFESSIONAL
We walked over to this stand from our camprground to get ice cream only to be greeted by the most unprofessional and rude staff. We arrived at 8:50 knowing that they closed at 9. After standing at the window for a solid five minutes, listening to the staff giggling from inside and saying " it's your turn " they hollered from inside " we are closed ". We nicely asked " we thought you closed at 9? " To which the reply we got was just more laughing and refusing to speak to us. This was very unprofessional, rude and unfortunate that they were willing to lose a fair amount of money as there was a group of eight of us. I have no reason to recommend anyone go to get ice cream at this place with young staff with no respect.
Roadside Americana
The Mountain View is one of Vermont's many little roadside gems. A varied menu and quaint setting. Many VT license plates in the parking lot so the locals frequent it. The food was just great !
so many options it take all summer and tons of weight added to hips
the menu is huge now. they serve everything. meatloaf, tacos, every kind of chicken you can think of. they serve burgers, fried shrimp, salads, ruebens, and so many kinds of ice cream. they allow you to mix and match the flavors in cremes and sundaes. they have numerous toppings. it is beyond amazing. a definite must visit.
All of a summer in an afternoon
Vermont is well-supplied with seasonal snack bars, and the Mountain View, just outside of Stowe on Rte 100 North is exceptional. Small, with two covered porches plus additional outdoor seating, through the pair of windows pass remarkable burgers and a host of other fare. Special mention must be made of the French fries which are world class: slightly crispy on the outside, perfectly cooked within. Oh and yes, a brownie sundae with soft serve ice cream, whipped cream, and hot fudge sauce rounds out the meal, all served by friendly, helpful staff. Stop by.....
Still awesome!
Once again, Anthony is back from his winter break and we missed him desperately. The pizza is still the best pizza I've ever had, since the wait is usually long, we call ahead, order our pizza and just swing by to pick up our piping hot pizza.
An unexpected gem!
The Mountain View Snack Bar has become a summer staple for us as travel back and forth between Morrisville and Stowe. Their maple soft serve ice cream is outstanding! In fact their exhaustive menu (must be 100+ items, no kidding) is chock full of some great eats. I've tried a dozen different items and haven't been disappointed. Highly recommend for a meal or just a snack. There's some nice outdoor seating and games if you're looking for a break or a nice place to enjoy your meal.
Good take-out and road food
We've had some great take out food from this place. Hamburgers, hot dogs, salads, ice cream, cold drinks, lots of choices.
Tony's Pizza is back at Mountain View Snack Bar
Tony is finally back in Vermont from his winter break and is once again serving up the best pizza in Vermont. New York style, even my husband - who is a New Yorker - loves it. My personal favorite is the Pesto / Moz Pie, freshly made (as everything) - it's our summer Friday tradition. Best pizza ever.
Huge menu!
The menu is WOW! Something for everyone would be an understatement. There is literally everything. Great prices, great service. Picnic tables to eat outside to enjoy the view.
Best pizza
Go there just for Tony's pizza. It's authentic, NY style pizza that you won't find anywhere else in the area. The pizza shack is only open from May through late September so we're once again in a holding pattern until spring. The snack bar itself self the regular snack bar fare, their corn dogs are pretty good although last time mine was still cold in the middle.
Outstanding Pizza
We had a deal through a corporate program and decided to check out the Mountain View while on vacation. We ordered 2 pizzas and they were enormous Brooklyn style pizzas. They were large enough that my family of four had it for dinner and then two lunches!! Great variety and well worth the price!
The Pizza... go there for the Pizza
Tony makes legit NYC style pizza and he is bringing the fresh dough, he has the sauces, and fresh toppings. The Tomato Pesto is the perfect light pizza. If you are into the heavier homestyle... Try GrandMa's (think Tomato Mozzarella Salad on deep dish) So good. Tony doesn't roll or throw the dough everything is perfectly hand stretched. There are only two downsides to this place... not open year round and no beer garden....
Decent food but annoying
This is a seasonal roadside snack bar like many in Vermont. Food is not bad, great fries, frozen burgers, and an extremely varied menu. Too varied. They have a couple of hundred items at least. The menu board is up high, a little hard to read while standing outside. But then there is a paper with each item printed on it separately which are plastered all over the windows, so you can't see inside, and they can't see out, which would take a person a half hour to read all of them. Totally not necessary. Prices are normal, service not bad, and they do offer a sit down dining room in the back. It's also one of the places that offers an untold number of creemee flavors and hard ice cream flavors.
Best ice cream sandwich ever!
Despite coming to Stowe and local area for many years, we only tried this snack bar for the first time in 2012. They have the most extensive menu of any snack bar I have ever seen, and everything we have tried so far has been great. We went twice on this trip. Best part of all is the Brownie Ice Cream Sandwich (that is two huge brownies with vanilla ice cream in the middle). Burgers are great, too.
Awesome Pizza and great variety!
Anthony's Pizza is true NY style! Tony is of Italian descent and hails from NYC and he serves up the best pizza I have had in Vt. There is a large selection of items on the topping menu, the sauce is wonderful, the hand-tossed crust delicious and the prices are great! My family has tried many pizza's there and the only complaint is that the bacon is more chewy rather than crisp... other than that they are perfect! We can't wait each year for opening season! The snack bar itself serves up tasty fare, many choices on the menu from panini's and wraps, to jalapeno bottle caps. The creemee topping list is full of goodies, and if you order a mountain creemee they blend your topping choice (s) into your creemee mmm! Doesn't get much better!
This Place is The Best Still
So after all these years that I have been going here this place is still the best to go in the world! If you haven't gone you must go. The wait may be a few but let me tell you it is so worth it, and the prices are so reasonable.
Good Snack Bar Food
Sure beats McDonalds. If you're in need of a quick bite to eat Mountain View is a great option. It's not gourmet but it's a good bargain for the money. Their menu is extensive so it's sometimes hard to decide what to get but I think that is a good thing.
