Little piece of paradise
What an amazing May long!! Thank you Barb and Donnie for sharing your little piece of paradise!! Our Cabin was so clean and cozy… the park was perfection… You guys are such a great team, you made the weekend so much fun!!! Can't wait for next time!!
Not very welcoming
I am amazed that anyone could find this place welcoming. We felt distinctly unwelcome from the minute we drove on the property. We were visiting family who were camping there and were charged $5.00 each just to enter the site. We were shouted at as to where to park. We were not permitted to use any toilet. Seriously? You charge visitors but can't even give them a toilet to use? When our relatives used the boat launch area they were shouted at for not clearing the area fast enough. The campground and roads were very muddy. All in all, I would stay clear. There were no positive vibes here at all.
Tina & Ernie
Loved our stay there with Don, Barb and Kaitlin. They are super friendly and we had a spacious spot with full hook-ups for our holiday trailer. Very clean, quiet and very relaxing. Lots to see on and around the lake. Definitely will be returning. ❤
10 week stay
Lazy Daze has been a life changing experience for my children and I. We have had the privilege of staying approximately 10 weeks over the course of the summer. The owners are easy to get along with, and easily problem solve when necessary. They have strict rules for guests, which made me feel comfortable being in a paid site. They very carefully monitor guests. The beach is fantastic - my kids enjoyed all kinds of water sports each day. The owners and staff work hard to make this a family resort. I'm so happy to have met so many new friends this summer thanks to Lazy Daze
Cozy clean comfort
Went to Ten Mile Lake for 3 days with my mum and sister and was surprised at how fab the resort was This is a family run resort that is run by Barb and Donnie two amazing people who bend over backwards for their clients They treat ed us like their family and are amazing The resort is spotlessly clean with tent sites and pull thru sites and cottages to rent The cottages are super cozy and cute and prices are very reasonable The campsites are nicely laid out offering privacy and a lovely lake for water sports Bring your kayaks the lake is warm and a great size for boating and water skiing The washrooms have two large shower rooms with a spot to sit and shave your legs or take a youngster into with you if they can't shower alone yet Fire pits come with your site and the beach is raked and tidy not one piece of garbage in 3 days 😎I highly recommend Lazy Daze and think it would be great during the winter for ice fishing as well A super resort run by exemplary people Thanks for the visit
There for a Family Reunion and treated like Family :-) !
My daughters and I were joining my girlfriend's family reunion at the Lazy Daze Resort last week and I cannot rave about the place enough. The cabins were absolutely perfect for what we needed and Barb, Don and Kaitlyn could not have been better hosts. They helped accommodate my eldest daughter who wanted to do some nights in her tent on her own, every request was met with a smile and a " no problem ". As someone who is not a camper it was nice to have exceptionally clean bathrooms with running, warm showers and full working toilets (not outhouses). There are a couple of fields one right in front of the cabins and one down by the lake which is a stone's throw away, perfect for Bacce Ball, Croquet, Ladder Ball, Badminton. If you have enough people to watch they'll even do a outdoor movie night!! The lake is a little weedy on this side so floatables help if you don't like weeds; but wading in is no problem. A small drive to the other side brings you to a small beach with a rope swing and less weeds. I was trying to rent the pedal boats from the adjacent campground but no one was ever there when I went to rent them. That is the only thing I can think of that would be of a benefit to Lazy Daze, some canoes or pedal boats or the like (jet skis would be the bomb but that's being greedy ;-)). At night, take a flashlight down and watch the frogs come out to play. And lastly, an accommodation site is only as good as the people running it; Barb, Don and Kaitlyn are amazing!! They are from the area and very proud to be so they want you to enjoy their " home " as much as they do. They are constantly working but still stop to chat, greet you with a smile, give you some helpful tips on not only your stay but how to enjoy the area. I wish they had not always been so busy so they could have joined us for drinks and games.... next time ;-). And the only other downside is: you can still get cell service and data at various places on site... so I almost had a completely unplugged vacation ;-). But it's nice to know people back in civilization get still get a hold of you if needed! Barb, Don and Kaitlyn, thanks so much for a wonderful vacation, my first true getaway in a year. You guys made it so enjoyable!! In a world where the news and social media show us how sometimes harsh we can be as human beings, your friendliness, generosity and spirit shines through. You're good peeps and it was an honour to meet you!!
First time to Lazy Daze Resort and we will be back!
Perfect for people with or without kids. The bathrooms were so nice I felt like I was in someone's home, not camping. The grounds were very well kept and clean. The water was clear and the beach made for a great time. We will be back for sure!
Great Place to camp or rent a cabin!!!
We have camped there a couple times! It is a beautiful place and the management was very welcoming and very accommodating. We had a large group that stayed for fathers day and we reserved our spot down by the water. The beach is beautiful and very well taken care of. There was about 15 of us, we spent most of the time on the beach, kayaking and singing songs around the campfire! We were greeted by Barb and Donny and she was as sweet as can be. Yes they have some rules about company and dogs but it makes sense. I respect their rules because most people want a nice quiet relaxing place to stay and if one campsite invites 15 people and they all have dogs visiting I can see how it may be unpleasant to camp right beside them :) They have clean bathrooms and showers, movie nights for kids, cute romantic little cabins and even motel rooms!! It was a great price as well :) We will definitely be back!
Will never be staying here again!!
. We were treated very poorly by the manager, and had to leave on Fathers Day because she had someone " interested " in our spot and were drilled about their rules. Our friend came out to visit and brought her little old dog, we were unaware that she was not allowed to bring her dog and was told the dog needed to stay in her car, very unacceptable as we listened to other dogs on the property barking. We were told they are not set up for group camping and were not allowed to put our 2 units together, we are an older group of 4 with no pets or children, just wanting to spend time with our friends fishing and singing / playing guitars around the campfire in the evening but were told that " sound carries " so we would have to limit our time to 7-8:30. as they were catering to paving crews, even though their website states 10:00 PM is quiet time. Not an enjoyable time there this year. We had choose this resort for our yearly meeting place to join our friends for a fun weekend after spending time there last year and finding it very enjoyable but unfortunately things have changed.
Really liked it!
Stayed overnight in the motel, and found it to be a great experience. Nice friendly owners, clean, away from the highway, and found the important amenities to be brand new. Very nice place, would go again and stay longer.
Nice place
We found this to be a nice, smaller campsite where everything was within a short walking distance - even down to the beach at the lake! Check in was easy and we even extended our stay by an extra day with no problems.
Precious memories
After spending 6 months at the children's hospital in Vancouver with our son who was battling cancer, Lazy Daze was the absolute best choice we could have ever made! The owners are incredible, and the cabins are extremely comfortable and clean! Between the beautiful lake, the large property, the beautiful star filled skies, the constant care and attention from the owners, and the awesome movie night for the kids, we built life long memories and will be staying there every single time we are in Quesnel!! My son is still taking about how much he loved it there 2 months later.
Beautiful Relaxing Family Vacation
What a wonderful place to have a family gathering, The owners Barb and Don are very accommodating with special requests and their campground is very clean and beautiful, I have friends and family who have stayed in the Cabins and in the motel and were very satisfied with the accommodations we always bring our travel trailer and love the spot she reserves for us. I love our family time there with its peaceful setting and relaxed atmosphere, this is definitely a perfect place to create special family memories. Looking forward to our next visit :)
Lazy Daze or Dazed & Confused
Their website is very misleading with regards to current photos of the resort, rooms & cabins, amenities and especially policies. We had reserved 3 RV sites, 1 tenting site, 1 lodge room and 2 Cabins for our family reunion in August 2015. The sites and rooms were reserved in January to ensure availability. Barb, the resort owner, informed our group that the resort has all sites, cabins and washrooms within close proximity and long distance walking is not required. She also informed us that their resort is pet friendly and the pet cleaning fee is only $5 / pet per visit and this was not a daily fee. Everything being in close proximity was great news to our family as my mother has MS. Upon arrival we were completely disappointed to find out that the information Barb had provided was false. Nothing was in close proximity, which required my mother to walk very long distances, up and down a lot of stairs and way down to the beach. My parents, partner & I were in one of the pet friendly cabins along with their 2 Chihuahuas. Upon check-in Barb asked if our dogs were put in a kennel. We had advised her that the dogs would be with us at all times and the dogs are placed in a kennel during the night. When reserving the cabin I informed Barb that it would be a family of 4 with 2 dogs staying in the cabin. She had informed me that the room rate would be $52.50 including GST and there was a onetime fee of $10 for the dogs. At Check-in we were charged $63 / night and the pet fee was charged at $10 per day instead of the onetime $10 charge. When I confronted Barb about the pet fee, she had stated in a very rude tone that dogs are wet, smelly and not everyone is a pet lover and for people to just keep their animals at home and that a hotel charges $25 / night for pets. When asked if she could refund me the extra $30 as the additional charges weren't stated anywhere, she said absolutely not and we should be thankful that she allowed our dogs in a cabin. She was so rude! The dogs were not allowed to be walked through their " park " which was on the same lawn as our cabin. The dogs had to stay on the deck of our cabin, and had to be walked behind the cabin to get to other areas of the resort. Another couple had a horrible experience with her in regards to their dog. He was a large dog and was required to sleep in their vehicle because she would not let him in the lodge with his owners, after they had paid the pet cleaning fee. She proceeded to tell them that no one brings a big dog camping and he should have been left at home. Her attitude is completely disrespectful and uncalled for, especially from a business owner. Where is this pet cleaning fee going if pets are discriminated against, cannot walk on any grass areas and are required to stay on decks of the cabins? You are required to bring all your own bedding, dishes, cutlery etc, this is not listed on their website. The cabin only offers a fridge, toaster, water cooler, and hot plate. There is no sink or running water in the cabin. The windows do not open, which makes the cabins extremely hot and humid. There is no lock on the screen door, so if you want to leave the main door open to let some cool air in, you cannot do that. We were not given a key to our cabin door, this is very unsettling as we were not able to lock our cabin when were not in it. When we arrived the Cabin was in very poor condition, the floors had not been swept or cleaned and there was garbage left in the fridge. What are we paying $73 / night (including per night pet fee) for if the cabins aren't even cleaned? There was a sign in the cabin stating that it is our responsibility to clean the cabin upon check-out, OK? There is only 3 bathrooms and only 2 include showers for the entire " resort ". This is ridiculous as they require people from the tenting & RV area to walk over 1KM to use the washroom and shower. Not to mention you have to pay $1 per 2 minutes to shower! WHAT? This is NOT listed anywhere on the website. The water reeks of sulfur so bad that you have to plug the drains in the lodge to avoid the smell. It is so nauseating that we couldn't brush our teeth because the taste was horrible and we would still smell like sulfur after our shower. When I had used my aunt's washroom to put my contacts in, Barb was waiting outside the door to inform me that I was required to pay $3 per shower because I was not a registered guest of the lodge. I had informed her that I did not use the shower and that I was not paying any charges. It is very annoying for someone to be waiting outside your door to harass you about using a shower when you never did. There are " don't do this ", or extra charge for this signs EVERYWHERE. The whole atmosphere of this resort is very uninvitingl. This is far from a resort! The owners are not friendly nor are they accommodating what so ever. When we tried to give 7 day's notice to cancel a week of our trip, she would not answer the phone, nor return any of our messages. Her young daughter would answer the phone and she could barely understand that we needed to change our reservation and would just hang-up. This happened to multiple people in our group. Once we arrived and informed her that we were not staying an extra week she proceeded to tell us that we were required to pay the week because we did not give notice! She is deliberately not answering the phone or returning messages so she can charge people the cancellation fees. As someone who has worked with the disabled, it is very upsetting that the resort is not wheel chair accessible and the there is no handicap washroom. A wheel chair would not be able to fit through any of the doors to washrooms, lodge rooms or cabins. Barb constantly followed my partner & I around the resort telling us what we could and couldn't do. There are enough signs that tell us the rules that we don't need to be harassed every time we see her or accused of things we did not do. As a young gay couple, we felt completely disrespected and discriminated against because she was not following anyone else around. She was always carrying a Twisted Tea cooler in her hand and you could smell the alcohol on breath whenever she spoke. Barb and her family were very rude people, they were not friendly, constantly drinking and they were never at the office if you needed to buy wood or ice. Our family is extremely disappointed with the condition of the resort and especially the treatment we received from the owners. We will not be returning to the resort nor would we recommend this resort to anyone.
