Problem resolved
We are frequent visitors of this chain. Normally it is a wonderful experience but this experience began negatively. Our food was very subpar. Barbecue salad (meat was extremely fatty) and baked potato that wasn't hot. That being said, we spoke with the manager and she made us whole with a replacement potato and threw in a dessert.
Don't miss Jim & Nicks
Quick service. Loved the baked beans, mac & cheese, and Carolina pulled pork. Pleasant servers. The corn cheese biscuits were great.
Great BBQ, Great Atmosphere
Great food, great atmosphere. I had the brisket and it was amazing. Cheesy biscuits are a not miss. My kids split the Turkey and loved it. Service was very friendly. Had a great time. Highly recommend. Check it out
inconsistent food quality - don't make this a regular spot
The quality of food at this location is inconsistent. I have eaten here on 5 different occasions. The first time, the food was fantastic and so I decided to come back. The past 4 times, the food has been inconsistent in quality and portion size. And what's most frustating is when two of you order the same thing and your food order comes out cold / half the size of the person with whom your ordered. The inconsistency of the food quality has led me to not go back.
The biscuits are next level
Wow! I had the two meat plate and went with the turkey and jalapeño sausage. Beans and coleslaw for my sides. Portion size was excellent and the quality of the food was fantastic. I sat at the bar and the service was great. I also had a local beer with my meal. My biscuits were late to the party but they were sooooo good, I forgave the misstep. It was all good. Prices are fair and the atmosphere was good.
Awesome rhe food is really really good. The cheese bisquits are delicious. The loaded potatoes is the best I've ever
There bbq is really delicious. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere. The staff is always friendly. Just an overall nice relaxing place to eat really good food
Amazing!
Love the biscuits it is amazing, this is the best place on earth rob is the best i would recommend everyone to come here!!!
Okay if you are in the area, want BBQ, and aren't in a hurry
This restaurant was an adequate place to get BBQ if one is in the area already anyway. The meat was quite tasty. We had brisket and turkey and both were good. The onion rings were good, and the salad was also good. It was nice to have a few vegetable options at a BBQ place (other than baked beans). I would avoid the cheese biscuits unless you were looking for dessert. To my northern palate, they tasted like sugar rather than cheese. When I think " cheese biscuit, " I think savory not sweet and certainly not so sweet that the cheese is almost undetectable. Give the banana pudding a pass. We ordered it primarily because we wanted to compare it to other BBQ places we'd visited recently. This was the worst of them. It had very few banana pieces in it, and the pudding had a very fake-banana aftertaste. We were there on a Saturday night around 7:30. The service was fairly slap-dash. For instance, drink refills took so long to arrive that the waitress just brought them out in to-go cups. To be fair, she did apologize for the long delay. The cheese biscuits were delivered to the table right as we were finishing the last bites of our entrees. I'm assuming they should have been brought out with the drinks as a sort of appetizer, although given their sweetness, perhaps they truly were meant as a dessert. We ordered the one banana pudding to share. First it was brought out with no spoons at all. Then when we asked for spoons (plural), they brought only one, and we had to ask for a second. It didn't seem particularly busy or short-staffed, so it was unclear what the problem was. In short, if you aren't in a rush, you don't care about cheese biscuits or dessert, and you just want some tasty meat and a salad, this is an okay place to go.
saved our lives... restored our good natures anyway!
We got takeout. My husband and I were burned out from dealing with some ongoing family member drama, and we wanted meat! It was great. Brisket was tender and perfect lean / fat ratio. Turkey was tender and not too smoky or salty. Ditto on the ribs. Sides complemented all that meat. Of course we love the little cornbread / cheddar puffs. I mean it, after all the stress of the previous week, this food saved our lives! Ha. Restored our good natures anyway. Oh yeah, we like the sauces!
Never again
So I noticed all the reviews were very positive 🙄. Ordered 1 / 2 slab of ribs, if you like chewing and trail bark this is the place. Ribs were not as I expected. They were not tender and you had to ripped them off the bone with your teeth. If you are a BBQ Ribs person please don't waste your money, if you do all you will get is barbecued sauced rubber.
Jim n Nicks used to be good
Poor service. Got drinks after we finished eating. Ignored as two old folks. Beer was semi cold. Server over tasked w tables.
Amazing BBQ
We are from Michigan and stopped in while on spring Break. I would have to say this is hands down the best BBQ we have ever had. Priced amazing not expensive. Ask for Gina as your server she was amazing.
consistently excellent
I would normally avoid a BBQ restaurant chain at all costs, but Jim N' Nick's is consistently excellent. Jim N' Nick's Bar-B-Q is a chain restaurant with locations in several states and about a dozen in Georgia. The interior of this one has a rustic motif. Jim N' Nick's menu features a variety of BBQ dishes, including Ribs, Brisket, Chicken, and Pulled Pork. This is a meat-eaters paradise. I went there as part of a group for a Christmas lunch. We were seated in a private room, and the service was wonderful. They seem to have pared back the menu as my favorite appetizer, the sliced sausage and jalapeno on a cracker topped with BBQ sauce was no longer on the menu. I had the brisket plate and it was outstanding.
Jim 'N Nick's low and slow-smoked barbeque
I enjoyed Jim 'N Nick's low and slow-smoked barbeque. They used original rubs and hickory smoke and make sure every bite of pork and brisket was packed with flavor that melted in my mouth. I could tell they smoked their meat around the clock to use only the freshest ingredients. I will be back for holiday catering.
Good Southern BBQ
Jim N' Nick's Bar-B-Q is a chain restaurant with locations in six states, which includes 12 in Georgia. The interior of this one has a rustic flavor. At peak hours, it quite crowed. They pack them in. We waited a bit before being seated, but not too long. As you might expect, Jim N' Nick's menu features a variety of BBQ dishes, including Ribs, Brisket, Chicken and Pulled Pork. This is a meat eaters paradise. With that said, they do have some non-meat dishes, such as Mac & Cheese. I had the Classic Spare Ribs that included two sides. The Ribs were tender and flavorful, and a hearty portion to boot. While the service was friendly, it wasn't particularly attentive. You get good value for your dollar here. Jim N' Nicks has a full bar, with a decent beer selection. At peak hours, parking can be tough. Good Southern BBQ.
i liked it!!!!!!!!
some of the best bar b que around. good service a very nice manager. the half chicken was very good and the ribs were too. the beer was cold with a nice selection. the tables were clean and they have outside seating.
Poor service
Food just ok.. salads are just iceberg lettuce with a protein thrown on top. Service was poor. I asked our server 'Mary' for more cheese biscuits and her reply was " you are going to have to give me a minute " was a sigh and a head shake as she walk away. Will not be back.
Great customer service & scrumptious food
On Tuesday, January 4th, I called in a take-away order. Conner answered the phone and was so very helpful as I moved from the city and had not ordered in a while. I specifically asked for white meat but when I arrived and I checked my order, I had dark meat. Conner took my bag away, quickly rectified my order and apologized as if my business personally meant something to him. I commend Connor for his great service and kindness. My food was better than delicious - it was delectable!!!
Over Priced - Poor Food
I had eaten here previously - was not a good experience - wanted to give it another try. They were not busy at all - we were seated upon arrival. The table was sticky - my silver had food on it. The server Alexander was right on it - nice guy. The prices here have gone up.. The cheese biscuits were served hot - there were four. I ordered a tea and the 4 chicken tenders with two sides. The food was served quickly. I ordered the potato salad and the onion rings. They were both good - especially the potato salad. The tenders were large - way to much batter on them - I had to fight to get to the meat - the honey mustard sauce was very good. I ended up leaving a lot of them uneaten. For what you pay these days - the food should be edible. They do a lot of drive thru business. I learned my lesson here - will not be back.
Excellent Service & Delicious Food
First time visiting Smyrna, Ga and we are glad we found a great bbq restaurant. Food was delicious, service spectacular. Gordon, our server, was the best!!! He was very attentive, friendly, and very professional. Thank you! My family and I will be back.
Meat & Muffins
You can smell the smoke was you get out or car and even more so in restaurant. The cheese muffins were delicious, and the meat was very good. Super Smokey on my wife's pulled pork. I got the meat combo and the portion was not as large as it should be for that price. The sides were ok at best, and also small. This is the reason for 3 stars. I prefer sauce on the table, especially when the side of BBQ sauce was so small. I had to flag down server and wait for more before eating.
Good BBQ and always great service
I've never had a bad meal here and the service has always been top notch. We usually get ribs, pulled pork and / or the turkey. The sides are great too!
Great meal
It was another great place to eat in Atlanta suburbs. I've ordered " Three meat dish " meal which was very tasty. I've loved it! I was so satisfied after the lunch. The service was very good too (with smiling faces). I recommend this restaurant. RomanP
Nothing special
Just go to Cue Barbecue. They now have 2 in Gwinnett county. Trust me that's waaaay better. The rib are no comparison.
Best brisket
There are several Jim and Nicks around the South and we have been to several of them. I love the brisket and house made chips. I can't seem to try anything else. My wife really enjoyed the smoked turkey. I actually have tried more than one thing but I always go back to my favorite. If you like barbecue you are sure to find something good at any of the locations.
Can't Seem To Get It Right
I had eaten here in the past. Went there for lunch on Sunday at 11 am when the doors opened. The hostess acted like she was on her last leg. The server Malik was great. I was there with a friend. I ordered the tender platter with cole slaw and potato salad. The tenders had a lot of breading on them - they were good once you got to them. The honey mustard dressing was not appealing at all. The slaw was tangy and the potato salad was very good. The cheese biscuits were not as I remembered them - not hot and good. My friend ordered a burger with cheese tomato, bacon and carmelized onions, he also had french fries. It did not have the onions on it - a server took it back to the kitchen for them to be added - she coughed with the food in her hand. It was sent back via the Manager. He reordered the same sandwich - was suppose to be medium well - it was rare (blood dripping out). The burger which looked very good was cooked again and brought to the table. I am not sure what the problem was - their needs to be communications between the manager and the kitchen staff. We were short on time - he ended up taking it home with him. He also order some wings to go. All in all a bad experience. They need to do a better job - its called taking care of the customer - listen to what they want. The Manager did not charge him for the burger and was sorry about the situation. The same server who coughed was still delivering food to the tables. This restaurant is always busy.
Good food, good service!
We stopped in on a chilly Saturday in January and had a great experience. Both the food and service was great. The muffins were probably the best I've ever had. My husband and I both want to go back.
Pretty good BBQ
Not outstanding but not bad either. Nice dining room and patio environment. Good menu including greens and mac and cheese. The best corn bread muffins in Atlanta (soft, sweet with a little cheese in it). Spare ribs can be hit or miss. Sometimes a bit over cooked but just check your order and send back for a better serving if it looks hard or dry. Doesn't always happen enough to stop me from going back.
Great BBQ
Great BBQ for family meals. Their pulled pork and greens are very good. I highly recommend this BBQ place. We got carry-out and have done so on multiple occassions. Family and guests always love it.
Jim N Nick's in Smyrna always consistent, awesome BBQ!
Absolutely love this place. I've tried other BBQ's in Smyrna / Vinings that claim they are the best, but I keep coming back to Jim N Nick's on the E / W Connector and S. Cobb. Always flavorful, big portions and great customer service. So many options, we like the 2, 3 or 4 meat plates with 2 sides. Pulled pork, Carolina pork, brisket, sausage links all just are incredible. Sides are fresh, potato salad, slaw, greens, beans and the cheese biscuits, cannot go wrong with any option. Plus for take out they open each container to insure they got your order right. Also good for if you just need meat by the pound to add to any meal. We'll keep coming back.
Bad Drive Through Experience
I have dined in and used the drive through many times in the many years but will say the last time I went through the drive through ordering over $50 worth of food I had to come back through the drive through and the lady who is always friendly actually was condescending and literally would not believe me that the food was missing -- basically, outright accused me of lying to get more food. I was appalled and literally in a state of shock of being treated as such and told her to keep the food after I waited for the second time in a very long line to get back to that point only to be treated as such. I have never returned to the restaurant since and do not believe I ever will go here again. I have been to their restaurants in other areas and always been delighted with their food but this restaurant has always been just okay with their food whether dining in or to go... but their treatment that day finalized the possibility of returning for me.
Great BBQ
Great BBQ for family meals. Their pulled pork and greens are very good. I highly recommend this BBQ place. Good for f
Biggest bake potato that I have ever seen and stuffed with delicious brisket!
The address above is for the Smyrna location which is delicious, too. But the visit that I am reviewing is for the Marietta location at 3420 Sandy Plains Rd Building 100, Marietta, GA 30062. It is not listed on tripadvisor, yet, as it is brand new. The new location is very nice, with great food and great service. East Cobb is very excited about Jim and Nick's coming to our neighborhood. The crowds waiting for a table have been large so think about going at an off-time. We went at 4:00 on a Sunday and were able to get a table quickly. My husband had the ribs and loved them. They bring delicious cornbread muffins to the table as soon as you sit down. The service was quick and most importantly, their ice tea is delicious! We will make it a regular stop in our household.
Quick stop
We have had Jim and Nick's in Montgomery, Alabama, so I've had the ribs before. I usually like to eat barbecue right when the restaurant opens because the ribs are really fresh. We were on our way to the airport, so we stopped at the Atlanta location. I was pleasantly surprised that the ribs, brisket, and baby back ribs were good. I also had collar greens, Mac & cheese, and barbecue baked beans. Brandon was very accommodating and our food was served quickly. We were able to make our flight in good time. Whenever I am in town again I will definitely stop.
Crowded for. Good Reason
I stopped for lunch and was amazed! First, the biscuits are the best. I had a Cuban sandwich - maybe the best I've ever had. I had sweet potato casserole and potato salad. Also, maybe the best I've ever had. Crowded… And now I see why.
Great Barbecue Restaurant / My first Visit
This was my Very first time visiting Jim 'N Nick's Barbecue Restaurant in Smyrna, Georgia. I have to say the food was Delicious. It was so damn good I could not eat my entire meal. I had to get a take out box. The atmosphere was peaceful with different people enjoying a good meal with their Awesome families. Customer service was on point. I will definitely make another trip in the future.
Improved
Service greatly improved since my last visit. I'm happy about that because this is my favorite grab and go restaurant in the area.
Horrible
Servicio es horrible, supuestamente se dedican a bbq estilo sureño pero no es muy buena calidad si se puede decir, nosotros escojamos costillas y estaban súper duras, no lo recomiendo hay mejores lo que le dicen southern style bbq
Authentic Pit BBQ
I have been fortunate enough to eat at this restaurant several times. This is very authentic and the prices are a little high but I believe it's just because they have been on tv so many times.
From the pit to the plate
I actually used to work here but only for a few months. But when I quit I could not stop eating there. Everything is BBQ straight from the pit just how you want it. I'm addicted to the little cheese cornbread. And I love all my meat lean. It's so delicious everytime. Sometimes the lines are really long but it's worth it everytime
Fairly good but expensive
The food was fairly good, I really liked their Mac and cheese side. Sauce was fair, but nothing I would buy to take home. The cheese biscuits were very good, and I did purchase the mix, but very over priced. Service was very good. Overall a good but costly meal.
Tasty food but.
This BBQ restaurant is in a convenient location for me to drop in after visiting with my grand kids. On my second visit here, the food is still tasty and the service is still slow. The fried catfish, baked beans, and potato salad was delicious. In addition to this visit, the silverware was not clean. I shared this with the hostess and my waitress. Not sure if I should go back.
Great BBQ lunch on Memorial Day
We ordered this to be delivered because we were working on Memorial Day. It was outstanding and made up for not being able to go to a real BBQ today. The beef was tender and the BBQ sauce was incredible. I loved the baked beans and coleslaw as well.
In the " Nick " of time
After a long, long day on the road, we found ourselves here just in the " Nick " of time for some outstanding bar-b-q. The original sauce was terrific, service was excellent and the food (ribs, pulled pork and beef brisket) was amazing! Love the potato salad, the bar-b-q corn on the cob, and the cheese biscuits. What a great ending to a long day- definitely going back there again.
Nicely smoked
This is a very busy eatery but worth a visit if you are in need of a BBQ fix. The meat is smoked well and the sides are tasty.
The Best
I don't eat pork. The chicken Potato loaded with no bacon. Is the best ever I recommend this location to anyone in the world. You would never be disappointed. The food is great.
One of My Favorite BBQ Places
I agree with one of the other reviewers - consistency is key! And that couldn't be more the case with Jim 'N Nicks. Whether it be a visit to one of several Metro Atlanta locations or their catering, food is always delicious, piping hot and served with a southern smile! A couple of my favorites are the pulled pork BBQ sandwich, the pulled BBQ chicken or the smoked chicken platter - always leaves be hankerin' for more. BBQ, as some often does, may have a little fat in it, but hey, it's BBQ and to be expected sometimes. The chicken, either pulled and on a sandwich with some of their white sauce or served on the bone straight out of the smoker, is always moist and juicy. Great flavor on all of their meats. And of course, who can't resist those laced-with-crack cheese biscuits - good grief. Could I get just a dinner platter of those next time?? HA. Have always enjoyed JNN BBQ and always will. You can't go wrong here.
Great place to eat
We tried this place by looking at TripAdvisor. You was right. This place is a great bbq. I decided with the pulled pork and fries. Awesome food and great staff and atmosphere. If I ever get back in the area I will go back.
Good food
This was my first visit here. The food was good. I had a BBQ chicken plate with cole slaw and baked beans. Everything was tasty. The complimentary cornbread was good. The waiters were friendly, but seemed a bit rushed. I look forward to returning and trying a new dish.
Consistency is key
I have been to this BBQ chain numerous times and have never been disappointed. Really solid food and service every time. There is a lot to be said for that.
Favorite lunch place
Near our office. Busy lunch crowd. Reasonable prices. Good BBQ. Salads good, too. Friendly staff. Larger tables if needed. Good parking.
One of our all-time favs
My kids have grown up eating at Jim N Nick's and love every visit! From the cheese muffins to dessert, I can only recall one time of the dozens that we were disappointed... but only with the service. The food is freshly prepared, and it's always hot and delicious. We especially love their freshly cut fries!!! Too bad all places don't do the same. We love so much on their menu that we know we'll never be disappointed regardless what we order. Great for any occasion - even take-out.
Love the Rolls
No matter what you get its all good but we do love the rolls. Service is okay just like many places, average rating. If you like try the loaded baked potato I strongly suggest it.
Great Visit and meal
Excellent food and service, go there anytime I get the chance. The atmosphere is great and the portions are plenty.
Good barbeque ribs and brisket
We ordered two combo plates with two meats each (one with ribs and the other with brisket and links). Everything was good; however, when we asked for white meat chicken we were surprised that it was pulled chicken and not a whole piece. Our server, Adam, was excellent. He was attentive without being intrusive. The biscuits are wonderful and are replenished when asked. The sauces and sides are delicious as well. Would definitely return.
Best bbq sause ever!
This is My favorite barbecue restaurant. the barbecue sauce is delicious I don't eat pork but, I love the pulled chicken Sandwiches. They also have delicious fried catfish and great sides, especially the Mac and cheese. One of my favorite spots!
Delicious baked potato!
The service and collard greens were ok and the bread was dry. However the baked potato was hot, filling and the beef brisket, that I added on top, was juicy and tender.
Amazing first impression!
We were traveling from Florida to Tennessee and stopped here for lunch. We started with the complimentary cheese biscuits and the queso dip. The biscuits were very soft and sweet. I had the Southwest Burger and mashed potatoes and my S. O had a combination platter with spare ribs, Mac and cheese, pulled pork and mashed potatoes. Everything was delicious and the portions were giant! Our server, Adam, was amazing. He was very attentive and friendly. We would definitely stop by if we drive by in the future! Thank you!
Love the vinegar based sauce
The pulled pork sandwich was great with some crusty pieces for great flavor and the sauces were tasty too. My fries were barely warm so our server brought out a fresh basket right away. The loaded potato is really big enough to share! We will definitely go back.
Mmmmm Delicious!
We took my Uncle and Aunt to Jim and Nick's for his birthday. Barbecue is my uncle's favorite food and this barbecue exceeded his expectations. In fact, he ate his leftovers for breakfast the next morning -cold!!!!! The service at Jim and Nick's was above average as our waitress checked on us frequently and brought extra warm biscuit muffins, napkins, and hand wipes. She was assisted throughout our meal by a waiter who kept our glasses filled with tea. Overall our dining experience was very pleasant and the food was excellent.
Worth the drive
We devoured everything. I almost forgot to take pics. :) Our first Jim n Nick's experience was in Auburn. We loved it so much that we made the drive to the one closest to our home - 30 mins. Our waitress, Joyce was awesome, attentive, and she told some funny jokes too. We started with the bread and honey butter. It was only the 2 of us and I'm ashamed to admit that we went through 1 and 1 / 2 baskets. I ordered the 3 meat combo plate - I chose the brisket, smoked chicken, and ribs with mac and cheese and baked beans. The hubby chose the BBQ nachos. I am in love with the brisket. It is so tender with just the right amount of fat. The ribs were not falling off the bone but they were tender and did have a nice flavor. My hubby ate some of everything we ordered. He enjoyed his nachos especially the brisket on top :). I was unable to finish my meal and it made for a great snack later that night. The restaurant was clean and set up very similar to the one in Auburn - booths, patio, and tables. There was a diverse crowd - families, couples, and a few single person tables. It is a very laid back family- friendly atmosphere. We will definitely return and recommend it to others as well.
Lunch Time
The place is nice, cleaned restrooms, the attention is really good, the food is good also the price. Good choice
Better Bar-B-Q Places
Here you will find good barbecued meats and tasty macaroni and cheese. The restaurant even has a talented bar staff that can whip up some delicious drinks. On the day we went, the place was busy, but we were still seated promptly. Everything was going splendidly (except for the noise level - it was extremely loud because of one large group of diners) until I made the mistake of ordering banana pudding to go. This is the experience that left a bad taste in my mouth for Jim 'N Nick's Bar-B-Q. Our server took the order for the pudding, and upon dropping off the check, she told us we should have our pudding in a few minutes. A while later, she stops by again and tells us they are working on our pudding, and it really should be here any minute. Meanwhile, I'm just looking at my check (which includes the pudding price) and thinking I wish I had never ordered it. Finally a bit later, the server comes by and says they're out of pudding. Seriously- she's been coming by the table telling me my pudding is on the way, and there's no pudding. Next a manager comes by, and he says they're out of pudding and offers us another dessert. I tell him no because I didn't want any of the other desserts. At this point, I'm in shock because I'm wondering how the server was selling pudding they didn't have. Shouldn't the manager have been telling the servers to not sell the item? Even worse, why did the server keep coming by to tell me the story about the pudding being on the way? Obviously, she was not checking in the first place or else she would have known it wasn't available. Weeks later, I am still confused by this and will not be returning to Jim 'N Nick's. There are tons of barbecue places in Atlanta; I can do much better.
Nice travel stop, around Atlanta
I've been to the original Jim 'N Nicks in Birmingham. We drive from Indiana and always make a stop. This time we were heading farther east in Florida, so had to try a different J 'N N's. The ambiance is more modern at this one, but it has the same great food and pleasant service. My family usually has the pulled pork or brisket, but they were out of pork so we tried the chicken. It was fantastic! You can have it pulled or on the bone. As always, the corn muffins are worth going out of our way for.
BBQ American restaurant
Several years ago my friends recommended me the place. Since then I visit it every time I'm in the city. Here you'll will find great barbecue, nice atmosphere whether you are alone or with your family. Be ready for overeating) And do not forget to try their special corn bread that's served for free.
It's ok... but I want better..
I want everything to be better. Everything. I want the food to be better. The service to be better. The look and the feel of the restaurant to feel better. It feels like a rehabbed Appblebees in which someone stuck a chain style barbecue restaurant. Everything feels..... sticky? The southern burger tasted cheap and couldn't be saved with sauce. The classic pulled pork was off... not moist enough and lacking in flavor. The beef brisket was dry. Was it an off afternoon? Maybe. The service was nonchalant, and at the end of the meal, we were faced with a bill that showed a lack of value given the quality of the food. The restaurant feels uncomfortable. I don't mean to suggest it's run down or dirty... it's just off all the way around. Please note, I think the food is average, not bad. Nothing was up to par on this visit. We might try again in the fall. But until then... we're off to find better.
Must visit if you're in Atlanta
Pros: short wait, ample parking, reasonable prices, excellent food Cons: menu configuration (yes, I'm digging) Overall: They have smoked wings as an appetizer that are over the top. If you decide to order them get the sauce on the side. They'll also bring out cheddar cornbread bites to snack on... you'll need a second batch. The lunch menu is decent, but the highlight is the smoked meats. I prefer the pulled pork and its been worth every dollar I spent. All of the baked potatoes are oversized and dressed until they're overflowing. Actually, I have yet to order anything that hasn't been spectacular. All in all, this place is on my absolute favorites list for Atlanta.
Good food and Service
I really enjoyed dinning this evening. The service was excellent and the decor was good. The restaurant is new to the area.
beef brisket is a mouthwatering delight
My wife and I went to Jim Nick's Bar-B-Q. She had the pulled pork and I had the beef brisket - I never had better. It was succulent and delicious. The corn muffins would you make you slap you mother-in-law over a footlog. At least that is what my dad used to say when something was especially scrumptious, so that is meant to be a compliment. I also thought their slaw was excellent.
Sit DOWN AND DRIVE THRU. GREAT!!
In the last two weeks I have been here for both sit down and drive thru food. It is great although it is a chain it taste like something you would eat at a local BBQ. There sauce is sweet tangy and spicy all in the same bight. I have had both the chicken and the pulled pork both were succulent and make my mouth water to think about it will be back soon for sure.
The Drive-Through Is My Weakness
Jim 'n' Nick's is good old country barbecue with all the expected fixings. I've enjoyed it plenty of times with groups of friends and family, but my guilty pleasure, which I visit far too frequently, is the drive-through. I had driven by this place for years before I realized I could just drive in. It is the only drive-through I will sit in for 30 minutes-it's just that good!! My favorite is the Piggy Potato with pulled pork and sweet tea, but they also have a great salad to which you can add chicken or turkey with their yummy blue cheese dressing. And grab some extra homemade biscuits while you're there - some to eat on the way home and the rest to eat with the meal.
Great Barbecue!
My family and I love eating at this restaurant. We come here often. The food is very good and the service is always on point.
Pretty Good Barbecue Place
Ate here with a group of 5 adults and 1 child on a Saturday evening. Hostess was a personable gal. Atmosphere was comfortable. We waited about 15 minutes for a table. Server was good. Food was good. Everybody loved the cheesy biscuits. I had brisket that was good, but not exceptional. I enjoyed the black eyed peas which were fixed in a spicy manner. Baked beans were average. Our bill was $80 plus tip. We had no problems and the food was as expected. Friends were great. Overall good experience.
Great BBQ
My family and business associates always enjoy this place. Good bbq. Cheese rolls are awesome. Fresh lemonade with chewy ice is enough to return. Their salads are great for lunch.
Solid Choice
Jim 'N Nick's Bar-B-Q is a good choice. The barbecue is average, but their sides and biscuits are great. They are a great option for lunch, dinner, or to cater an event.
Just passing by
Had heard great things about this place and on my first visit was not disappointed. Should have known would be a great experience when we were greeted by Sharon a most charming hostess. Jeff our waiter was most helpful and brought several sides to help us make decisions. The cheese bread is a must taste. Slow smoked meat wonderful. This place is a definite addition to my list of favorites.
Home Style BBQ
I took my daughter and son in law for a BBQ dinner while my wife was out of town. Jim N Nicks is near my house in Smyrna and I have wanted to visit for several months. The parking lot was full when we arrived indicating a full house. We waited for 10 minutes. There is not much of a waiting area as the bar was full also. Once seated the service was very fast. Our drinks were served pronto and the the food not far behind it. I had the pull pork plate with beans and baked potato. My daughter had the bbq on chips and my son had pulled pork sandwich. The food looked and tasted good. I like a big baked potato as a treat and this one was plenty large. I left extremely full and satisfied. The plate was $13.50 and included too sides. Maybe on the high side for a BBQ place. When we left at 7pm the restaurant was still full. You will enjoy this restaurant.
Have been eating at Jim 'N Nick's for 25 years
We lived in Birmingham, Alabama for over twenty years and began eating at Jim 'N Nick's near St. Vincents. The food was great and even in the super competitive Birmingham BBQ area they were stars. They continued to grow locally and now they're everywhere. We live in Atlanta now and can walk to one. There isn't a weak item on the menu. Jim " n Nick's is our go-to comfort food place. And remember you can smell their butts for miles.
Needed Some 'Cue
We went to a Barbecue festival today and I really wanted some ribs. The festival was a bust, but that's another story. Ended up at Jim 'N Nicks for pulled pork sandwiches. Very good. Great staff. Fried green tomatoes were really good. Good onion rings. I like thick sauces but this was good. Good sandwich also. Drive through was very busy.
Love the biscuits
Been here a few times and always being new co-workers here to eat. The biscuits are always a favorite. I've had BBQ pork and it is delicious. This visit I had piggy potato, it was HUGE!! It was delicious and co-workers were impressed.
Good Q
This is worth the drive. The cheddar rolls was amazing and so is the taco. Service was a little slow. Will be back
Jim 'n Nicks
The food was great. I had the baby back ribs (1 / 2 slab) and it was a very generous portion. I did not need to add any sauce because they were very flavorful. They waitress (Holly) was very nice and professional.
PRICEY But Good! Very good service, too!
BBQ with a sweet tasteeven the potato salad has a hint of sweetness. Very Enjoyable with great sides and Really Good UnSweetened Tea! Very good service, too! Only issue is that it is on the pricey side for BBQ.
So good!!
I'm from Texas so I've eaten a lot of BBQ.... this is good!!! They slow cook all the meat so it is almost always really tender, with good flavor. Their Mac & Cheese is a perfect compliment!!
First time visit
We live in another state and were visiting family in the area and they took us here for dinner for the first time. The food was ok nothing special and the service was slow. There were 3 tables that were seated after us and there orders were taken before a server ever came to our table.
Very Average
The service was good but the food was just average. Like BBQ you would find up north. There are so very many great BBQ places in the Atlanta area there is no need to go here unless it's convenient.
Never Again
I had to send my food back two times for them to get it right. The first time the food was not hot. The second time it came out not the way I ordered it. When I told the waiter that I did not want the food and not to replace it again, the manager came over and apologized for not watching the kitchen. While he did not charge me for my food, the experience would not get me to go back. For great Atlanta BBQ, I recommend Fox Bros.
Avoid this chain
Food warm at best and did not taste great. I usually avoid chains but tried while working in the area. Only good part was cheese biscuits. Slaw and pulled pork very bad.
