Don't come here Hammond La store
They all belong on the short bus. The cooks can't read. Your order will be screwed up. Then they try and demonize you for telling them about the screw up and wanting them to fix it.
Waste. My time in Hammond was precious because of a funeral… this CB was N insult
What an incredibly stupid place. I was in Hammond for a funeral and Cracker Barrel was close by. It was a long day and I just wanted to do was order and take out go back to the hotel. What the Hammond Cracker Barrel presented is a guy asking me if I was here to stay or go, talk into a mouthpiece and no one showing up. I walked out after 30 minutes of silence… all I needed to do was place an order. STUPID.
Tuesday special
Pork chop was good. Service was quick. I enjoyed my mash potatoes and dumplings. Great price for the quality of food. Liked the shopping in store
YOU WILL ENJOY!
The food was very good! Hot fresh and quick! Our waiter Timothy did an excellent job and was very pleasant and very attentive!! We enjoyed all of our food. Very happy we stopped here on our way home from outta town! 😁 I would definitely recommend this place!
Absolute Favorite Cracker Barrel Ever!
I can't rave enough on this restaurant! I told the hostess the rest of our party wouldn't be arriving for another 45 mins and just wanted to get my name on the list. She went on to get a table ready for us while my granddaughters & I looked around the store. When we came back up, she went ahead & seated us. I was shocked. The waitress, DONNA! Oh my gosh, Donna! Talk about a super nice waitress and soooo patient! She took excellent care of us while we waited for our family to arrive. Once they arrived, Donna came right back to us. We had such excellent service that evening! Everybody was so nice and the food was great! The next morning, the girls & I went back for breakfast and had the same excellent service & food. Austin was our waiter and he was very nice!
very nice waitress
arrived at 8:45 on a Sunday morning and was seated quickly, very nice waitress, average meal. Easy access from I 55
Not the best, just average
Went over for breakfast with friends, still only had a partial menu! Welcome to La.! Anyways, breakfast was good, service was off, even with half the place blocked off.
Thanks For Ruining Mother's Day
I placed my To-Go order on Wednesday before Mother's Day for pickup at 4:30. I arrived at 4:40 and was greeted by a long line of cars waiting in the road and about 30 people outside the door. I parked and went to the front door. The employee at the front was not letting anyone inside. I was told they are running very behind. When I asked how far behind, I was told 2 to 3 hours. Do you honestly expect people to wait 2-3 hours in the cold and rain for orders placed ahead of time? Why continue taking orders when you cannot fulfill the ones you have in a timely fashion?? Another customer asked about refunds (the To-Go orders had to be prepaid) and he was told he would have to contact a manager tomorrow. You can't even call them to cancel the order because the employee said, " Don't bother calling because we're not answering the phone. " With all the options my kids had available to them, too bad this was their sorry choice.
Busy as all CB's are
Good food but as always, CB stays slammed. Decent area, within a short walk from a couple of different hotels.
Great southern comfort food
The meat dinners are always solid, and their sides can be decent if picked correctly. I enjoyed their buttermilk biscuits with their special apple cinnamon butter sauce.
Beyond Superior Lunch!
We were returning home from the Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert & trip to New Orleans and stopped in at Cracker Barrel, Hammond La for lunch. We both had the southern fried chicken with honey and sides (y'all should add this to the regular menu! Excellent item!) The service in this Resturant was beyond superior. The host who seated us was on point, Our waitress attended to every need & refill w / o us having to ask! Perfection in every sense of the word. Keep up the Excellence, other Cracker Barrel's should be measured by this one. Each time we pass through this way, this will be our stop for meals; hands down. Thanks again for everything. Rico.
Service was terrible
On our way home from visiting family in Houston. Cracker Barrel is usually pretty reliable about quick service, great food and getting back on the road. Not this time. Mid-afternoon, not many people there, but it took 10 minutes to be seated, 10 minutes to get our drinks, 15 minutes to get biscuits, asked for silverware about 5 times (20 minutes later we got it), 10 minutes later asked how long on our food (4 vegetable plates), she went to check, came back and said there were 2 parties ahead of us. Still no time frame! When she said she will check how many minutes, she walked to another table and talked for about 5 minutes. Needless to say, we left after a 45 minute wait!
Family friendly, but slow
We were traveling through for the night and stopped here. The food was good and the rolls as always were a bit. However the service was slow and we kept having to ask for things that should have been readily available or on the table. The hostess seemed put out that was wanted a larger table because we had 5 people not four, we are all close to or over 6' with three of those being broad men. A small table of 4 with a chair cramped on the end was not going to cut it. Her heavy sigh and exacerbated typing on her iPad was delightful.
Met up with Friend
Cracker Barrel was a great stop to meet up with dear friend!! Eating lunch gave us time to talk and catch up on what has been going on with our lives. Great trip and lunch.
Delicious as always!!
We went here for dinner and it was delicious! The food was hot and our server was great! I always love the biscuits, dumplins and fried chicken tenders. We will definitely be back
Did not dissapoint
Stopped overnight in Hammond and found this across the street from our hotel. Very good service and the food was hot and tasty. Walking through the store is a bit annoying but I know many people love it. The people working there are always friendly and smiling which is nice to see.
Oversized Parking
I was moving with a large 28' truck. Most places are difficult to park large vehicles, but cracker barrel has you covered. Parking for buses and rv's. Service was a little slow, and the cornbread was overcooked, so that's why the 4 stars. Overall Cracker Barrell restaurants are pretty good. I always stop at them while traveling, and this time with the large truck it was perfect.
Great store... so so restaurant
Cracker Barrel as a chain has been going downhill for years. We stopped for breakfast and had a great time shopping, but the service in the restaurant was not great. It took an hour to get our food. When it came out, it was fine, but not complete. We had to ask for biscuits and they did not have any jelly / jam. There was something very hard in the gravy and my steak was WELL WELL done. Not the worst, but not a great experience.
Always good
Cracker Barrel is consistant with all of the other Cracker Barrels. The quality is good and always friendly waiters.
Great restaurant
I almost always love Cracker Barrel. This latest trip didn't disappoint. I gave them a 4 because we didn't get biscuits before the meal, and it wasn't busy. But the food was great, and I will be eating here again soon. I got the sugar cured ham, and it was good. The service was reasonably fast. I recommend this restaurant. And the gift shop is always fun.
Very Clean. Very Fast. Very Good!
As an employee of Cracker Barrel at a different location, I was eager to stop here along our way to Florida, just to see how consistent other locations were. I was surprised to see a more modern version of our store with friendly, and knowledgeable staff, similar to my coworkers. Our server Nick was very attentive and used the scripts very well to give us quick, yet friendly service. I recommend this store to anyone passing by, you won't be sorry.
I've been there a few times. This was the first time that I wasn't really that happy with my experience. I ordered my food online to go. No one said anything to me when I waited at the pick up line. After 20 mins I finally went up to someone. Then asked them about my order. They finally told me that it wasn't all in there. They offered to replace it with something else. I declined. The wait was already too long.
Always a great 'go-to' place when traveling
I travel everdsy for 25+years most cities across half the US states and 7 Countries. Cracker Barrel is always a great 'go-to' place to stop in for good ole fashioned homestyle cooking. They have wonderful southern hospitality and comfort foods with option of breakfast all day.
Poor Customer Service
One of the things that I can't stand is poor customer service. The lady who was assigned to me as my waitress showed no skills in customer service. I don't like to hear poor English and I don't like to spoken to with familiarities especially by somebody I don't know. It's been over 60 years since I've needed to wear a diaper so I don't like to be called baby. She didn't give me my ticket when she served me my food. It took me fifteen minutes of waiting to get her attention and then she had to go into the kitchen to find my ticket. I had to wait another 10 more minutes for her to come back with it. Instead of apologizing, she called me sweetie. At the cash register, I told the person there that waitress should be given more training. The food was okay. I had the country plate with two sides. I should have gotten the double portion of okra.
Typical Cracker Barrell
We stopped here for dinner since we could walk across the street from our hotel. Service was good. Food was good and reasonably priced. Would stop here again.
Fast service
Had a great breakfast for lunch meal. We were seated immediately and brought drinks pretty fast. I was amazed how quickly our meal was served. Very good breakfast. Waitress was super sweet and attentive.
Breakfast for Dinner
After a long almost 10 hour drive I was ready for some food. I had not had my eggs for a few days so an omelet sounded good.. Since the Cracker Barrel was right across the street from our Hotel it was the first choice. I had a Bacon and Cheese omelet with grits and biscuits and gravy. The omelet was full of bacon and the grits were cooked just right. They were thick and not runny. The wife had a grilled chicken and cheese sandwich and loved every bite. The waiter had thought he had given us the bill but had not so I had to wait longer than usual. But not to worry as the wife had more time to look at the goodies in the store.
Slow service, main dish hot, sides not
Overall a disappointing visit. Catfish was hot and tasty but every side I had was luke warm so none of them were worth eating much of.
Delicious
Ordered food when traveling solo for a death in the family. I always feel safe and secure to stop at Cracker Barrel when traveling alone. I can always count on the Food quality and service.
Consistently good but not great, no matter the location
We have visited several Cracker Barrel locations over the past several years. They are a dependable source of comfort food from a consistent menu, no matter where. The food is uniformly good if not great. In other words, it is what it is, but it is never bad. Our meal on this occasion was a dinner for three consisting of (1) chicken dumplings, (2) fried chicken livers and (3) a 3-piece vegetable medley including fried okra, black eyed peas and mac & cheese. We shared a blackberry cobbler at the end of our meal. We left filled and satisfied, which is exactly what we expected.
Sunday lunch
My wife and I ate here after church on several occasions and is always good, but Very busy. Usually haft to wait 20-45 minutes for table.
Very nice waitress and good food
We requested a " quiet " table and were shown to the side room where we were the only ones, allowing for a superb visit with friends. (Thank you for that) ! Our waitress was very accommodating, given that we were off the beaten track. She was pleasant and efficient. The meatloaf, veggies, and salads were fresh, nicely seasoned and pretty in presentation. Very good iced tea.
Dinner during recent visit
Phoned in an order to be picked and within no time food was ready. Customer service was excellent and food fresh n hot. Great comfort food when away from home. Comfort Inn hotel is within walking distance as well. Will return in the future
Good country style coking!
Never disappointed, lunch of roast beef with veggies was delicious. Roast beef was very tender, and love the fried okra, green beans. Always enjoy the cornbread and biscuits.
When you are travel weary and hungry....
When you are travel weary and hungry this is the place to go for " comfort food ". I am on the road for some 13 weeks inventorying government building assets. Everyday I go from 100 degree roofs and hot motor pool buildings to air conditioned offices while still soaking wet from the outside areas. By the end of the day I am pretty well done in and hungry. We rarely stop for lunch. Cracker Barrel has a " Cook out " special that answered my needs to a " T ". After attempting to finish that large meal, I went to the Motel, showered and rested very contentedly. It is a great way to finish a hard day at work.
Lunch
Meal was acceptible. This is all i have to say nothing extreme nothing horendous. Its that this app requires at least 100 charactets to submit
Late lunch on a Saturday
Restaurant is quaint with period décor. The food was acceptable and the server was attentive. Price was average for the food.
Empty seats and a long line
I was looking forward to having a good meal. As I looked in the window there were many empty seats but the wait line was about 10 people deep (maybe more). It appears they were short on help. I never did eat as the wait time was ~1 hour. I went somewhere else.
Always look for when traveling
I always look for a Cracker Barrel when traveling. Although it is a large commercial restauant... it is the closest to grandmas old fashioned country cooking. I can always count on a Cracker Barrel... they are always there when i need a home cooked style meal. I notice they no longer offer the basic tradional oatmeal with brown sugar, milk, toppings, etc... but they now offer oatmeal with some kind of cranberry mix instead.
Comfort food at a reasonable price
Always reliable for comfort food. We have never had a bad meal there... or any surprises. We went for breakfast this morning and I decided to get a bit creative with the menu by combining items from 2 different meals. Our waitress, Kayla, was outstanding! She immediately grasped what I wanted and a short time later I had my custom-made breakfast. I will always go to Cracker Barrel when I'm looking for a good " ole fashioned meal ".
A disgrace to Cracker Barrel
Walked over from our hotel on Sunday evening. Waited to be seated for a while, until cashier hollered " sit anywhere ". Our waitress was sweet, but not, apparently, there to work. She told us they were out of this, and no, we don't have that, and the other. Corn muffins never came, she said " we're out of those ", before a plate of them came out to another table.... She was unreachable for missing items, box, check, though she was sitting next to the fireplace... I guess training is lacking, here. Been to quite a few Cracker Barrel restaurants, loved them all, but this was a DISGRACE to Cracker Barrel.
Lunch
Fantastic food ! The waitstaff was very helpful and enjoyed our lunch there and we went back for dinner... we love the atmosphere and did some shopping in the gift shop
Best service ever...... and the meal was good too!
We had the best server at this Cracker Barrel. Nicholas was quick, remembered little details, and even brought out biscuits before the meal because the were hot, just out of the oven. He was friendly, asked the right questions at the right time..... not when our mouths were full. 😊 He made the meal much more pleasant. We had the chicken dinner special and a grilled chicken salad. Both were good. Fried chicken was a little salty. This is a good place to eat.
Headed to the Cruise Port
The antiques and pictures on the walls take one down memory lane. The menu offers a wide variety of food choices with an emphasis on " down home cooking " (love those fried apples and fried okra). The waitress was friendly and attentive. The store has many candies and items of by gone times. All in all a very pleasant experience.
Traveling
It was an average Cracker Barrel experience. Most of the food and service was satisfactory but as usual they didn't bring all of my husbands sides and brought me one he had ordered etc.
Good traveling stop
This Cracker Barrel is not very convenient for travelers on I-10 as it is a couple of miles north off of I-55. The staff is very friendly and efficient and the food is typical Cracker Barrel. We both tried the special white chocolate filled french toast w / raspberry sauce. It was OK, but a major sugar high. Won't be ordering that again. We ate there the night before and had a typical, really good meal. Like that they have good parking for motorhomes and other RVs.
food
it is a very friendly restaurant. I love the extras you can buy in there. The food is awesome. I come out very full every time... lol!!!!!
Good chain food
The Hammond Cracker Barrel is pretty much like all the other Cracker Barrels in the country. Food is quite good and reasonably priced.
Breakfast Enroute Work
Early morning picture taken from parking lot and interior pictures from my table. It was early and very quiet while eating.
Lunch with mom
The food was ok... nothing to brag about.. but the service was good. Very friendly. I would go again for breakfast... but not lunch or dinner.
A little overcooked!
I always love Cracker Barrel, however I ordered the new Campfire meal with chicken, potatoes, corn, carrots and onion and while it was served piping hot it was way over cooked. All my favorite veggies in one simple meal and all over cooked. I think they just left it in the oven way too long. The 1 / 2 chicken was tasty, but was shrunk from overcooking. Everyone else had a fabulous meal. The meatloaf was delicious and a huge serving, the hamburger cooked just right and all day breakfast was spot on. They promptly cleaned the table which meant a to go box which was left after we walked away was thrown out before we could run back and get it. I was sad about that one.
AWFUL FOOD
we were passing through service was good but food was awful lukewarm and cold in middle tasteless old tea served with 2 pieces of ice no refill I'LL NEVER. GO TO CRACKER BARREL AGAIN
Best biscuits
If you want some home old style tasting food this place is great. Low prices budget friendly. Wonderful large giftshop and candy store as you walkin. Country style restaurant.
Good Food
Love coming to a CrackerBarrel to eat. This place was clean with nice staff. Had a trailer in tow and had plenty of parking for it which was a plus. The bathroom was clean too. Very satisfied with our visit.
Good Morning Bus Break--Fast!
After riding the bus all night, we were looking forward to the breakfast stop at Cracker Barrel. The driver called ahead for all 49 of us to dine together. They handled our individual orders like pros! Even when a second bus pulled in, things went smoothly. I enjoyed the 380-calorie Good Morning Breakfast: eggs, fruit, turkey bacon, and tomato.
