About Chocolate Bar / Gallery
We are an original bar / gallery located on the lake here in Khon Kaen. We offer musicians and artists a place to show their works to the public. Its a meeting spot for the local teacher community and travelers as well. We have a great selection of beers and cocktails as well as Mexican food. We play great music including rock, jazz, reggae, chill out and all in between. Some say its the best music in town by far. So, come and enjoy the sunsets and a cold one with us by the lake.

We tried to find it. We even called. We didn't find it. I think it is close. Why do I have to reach 100 words for a disappeared bar?
Best place in KK
Good food, friendly owner and clientele, great location. My wife and I were there the first time in May of 2013. We will be back there next week and look forward to it very much.

favorite bar in khon kaen
this is one of the best places to watch the sunset in khon kaen. friendly people, great drinks, and a very tasteful atmosphere. only place i found in the city with american micro-brews as well as real tequila.... thanx again, chocolate bar, for helping my stay in khon kaen to be a very pleasant one. ill definately be back...
Only place of its kind in Khon Kaen
As all other reviewers have said, Chocolate attracts a completely different crowd (seems to be mostly teachers) from the farang bar ghetto around the Pullman-Kosa area. This, along with the owners being great hosts and some genuinely good food make it worth a visit. It's closed on Sunday and they often close up to go travel.
By far the best joint in KK
There's no other place I would rather relax at than the Chocolate Bar. All I need do is imagine the lake across the road to be a beach and I feel like I'm at a beachside town, enjoying the company of cool ppl from all walks of life

Great place to relax and have a cold one while taking in the great views of Kaen Nakorn lake. You can actually get some good homemade Mexican and Indian grub and listen to some awesome tunes. The owner is super chill and the expats that frequent the joint all seem very open. Any night at the Chocolate Bar could be one of those nights to remember. If you find yourself in K. K, make sure you check out this place. You'll be glad you did.
Super chill - best bar in Khon Kaen
I've been to Khon Kaen a couple times now, and this is by far my favorite bar to visit. There are always cool people to talk to and have a beer with right across from the lake. Most of the patrons seem to be expats, but I've also met some very nice locals there. The owner and his girlfriend will definitely make you feel at home. I would highly recommend to anyone looking to have a good night out.
Laid Back Spot in a Great Location
A laid back spot on right on Kaen Nakorn lake in Khon Kaen that is one of a kind in Khon Kaen. The US-born owner Jordan keeps the good tunes jamming and the good and reasonably priced vege food coming, and there are always some interesting expats to chat up on the porch.
A different kind of bar
Located along Bung Kaen Nakorn in the city of Khon Kaen. Basically a kind of alternative lounge bar serving also a bit of snacks & finger-food (Mexican & Indian). The Indian food was very spicy so I can not tell if it was good or bad. The all place is not my cup of tea but other might like it.
Nice Place To Chill Out and Meet Nice People
Chocolate Bar Gallery is a wonderful place to chill out or party, You meet all ages but one thing in common everybody talks to everybody. The hoist is a very laid back peerson who seems to have no stress in the world and always make time to talk to his very friendly customers. There is a good mix of people from all over the world, Me and My Thai lady always have a nice time there. There do mexican food and just started doing Indian food on thur, fri, sat. I can tell you by experiance the Indian food is very nice, I had a medium masala and a friend of mine has a spicy jelfrazie. In summary a very nice place, nice people and sure will be visiting more times in the future
It should be kept as a secret
When I need to relax, be reminded of what good music is, find a friend to make laugh, or share an intelligent conversation with people that like life in Thailand, this is the place I turn to every time. Clean, chilled, stylish place with a great mix of cultures. Good food, good drinks, good alternative. Selfishly, I like it when it's quieter, but just a cool place... it's not often.
Excellent bar that is different from anywhere else in the city
I discovered chocolate bar in December last year and have been a regular customer ever since. Nowhere else in KK has the same relaxed vibe. Chocolate bar prides itself on playing the best music from around the world and holds regular party nights catering to different genres of music. usually the music is really relaxed but don't miss the monthly " head bangers ball ". Chocolate has a great collection of unique art work and a great view of the lake at sunset, not to be missed!! For food you can get some great mexican food but they have also started serving authentic Indian food. All in all, great place, nice people awesome food. Nick
Best Bar in KK
When I first moved to Khon Kaen, I thought that all the nightlife here was shady bars with old sexpats or Thai-style night clubs. I never knew! Just down the road! Over by the lake! CHOCOLATE BAR / GALLERY!!! Finally a place with good people, good food, good art, and good music! Nachos! Burritos! Chimichangas! Quesadillas! Tandoori Chicken! Other awesome Indian food! A bar that knows how to make a great Bloody Mary! You may think that I'm overusing exclamation marks, but let me tell you, they are well deserved. Going there feels like going home. Walk in and immediately feel part of the family. Alone, with friends, or even with your kids Chocolate Bar / Gallery is worth going to regularly.
