Disappointing for the under 3 year olds
I took my 14 month old grandson for a treat and was rather disappointed with the soft play area reserved for 3 year olds and under. It was a small area and should have had much more for them to explore and do. There were two slides side by side and they were steep for a 14 month old. There needs to be a variety of sizes to cater for that age range. Children older than 3 kept running in and out, leaving the gate open which was annoying and unsafe. We did go in the sensory room which kept him occupied for a short while. I could see that there was plenty of apparatus available for the 3 - 12 age group to enjoy. An investment in the younger age group would be a big improvement.
Brilliant soft play!
Been twice now and every time the place is immaculately clean. All the staff are very helpful. And the food / snacks they sell are reasonably priced. So good to see that they actually clean in between sessions as a lot of places clearly don't. This place does and it shows. Nice outdoor play section as well with some picnic tables and a sandpit. Wish you were closer to where I live!
Wear the little ones out!
Great place to wear the kids out for a while. You get a 2 hour slot, the kids loved it. Staff were really friendly, wearing masks the whole time. Watched them come around cleaning the equipment, and all the tables were well spaced. Very secure and well run, thanks.
On a downward spiral
We used to visit minor mania all the time and I always felt it to be one of the cleanest and nicest around. We visited today for the first time in a while and oh my goodness. Dirty, worn out, staff all barely looked a day over 18 with absolutely no senior personnel, no control in the play area, dirty plates all over, food on the floors trodden in and on chairs, damaged and worn soft play, I could go on. What a shame, the owners should be ashamed of themselves for letting this place get so bad, leaving so many inexperienced young staff and for the total lack of hygiene. Would I recommend, no chance and that is sad because it used to be a gem and our kids loved it.
Baby facilities need improvement
I went to try out the new baby room and was disappointed: When I arrived no one told me where the room was. You have to leave your belongings outside of the room and out of sight... The door to the room has a bolt on the outside. The room itself was cluttered and so there was no clear space to play with the toys or crawl. They could have had half the toys. A good number of the toys had run out of batteries. There was nowhere in the room for adults to sit. It would be nicer if they put a poster or blind over the window so the view or rubbish was hidden too! Other bits to note: The baby changing area in the female toilet was dirty. There are no baby food or baby portions on the menu. Food & drinks aren't allowed in the room - it would be nice if the cafe did drinks in a travel cup so that mums could have a cuppa! It's a shame because this would have been something I would use regularly & with friends / mum groups, but not in it's current state.
not great value
7.20 for a 6 year old and one adult for 2 hours feels a bit steep. It's not helped by the staff, standing like an idiot to get let out while they argued about birthday sandwiches with another dad for 5 mins nearly cost me my train. When they did get round to letting me out, it was not with an apology, or have you enjoyed it. quite the opposite it was really to much bother. I won't be spending my money there again.
Below average
My children, 7 and 3 found this quite boring. They requested to leave after a mere 30 minutes. Soft at is a bit dated and some what limited
Good for the children, not so good for the adults
4 year old grandson wanted to come here, he had been before. Is of course a soft indoor play area and good it is too, for the children!!!! For adults, not so good, huge cafe / seating area, expensive coffee and a very poor selection of snacks. The wifi is 'temperamental', but I have been informed it never works and the staff.... plenty of them, spending too much time chatting among themselves rather than trying to serve customers, even as you arrive, leave and cafe serving area. If it wasn't for the 4 year old, I personally wouldn't go back.
