Don't use Uber eat they will send you trash
I ordered on Uber eats worse bbq they drowned the meat with bbq sauce anyone should know to put sauce in the side not drown the meat in sauce I also ordered half chicken which was dry n old someone told me about this place I'll never order again I tried calling n a man was rude n kept putting me on hold Uber eats let these restaurants screw over customers
Simply Awesome!
Amazingly awesome delicious Texas BBQ! It's no wonder Demeris has been around for soooo long. The brisket was nice and moist not dried out. The spare ribs fell off the bone and were tasty even without sauce. The sausage had just enough kick to compliment the perfect sauce. Hands-down favorite side was the charro beans. Thanks Demeris for making such wonderful yummy BBQ. Thank you also to Angelette for being so friendly and customer service driven.
Par w / other chain BBQ in area
My very first visit to Demeris Bar-B-Q was back when it was part of the annex to Northwest Mall. Often the drive through line is long, but the food seems to come out rather quickly. I think their BBQ is on par with the other chain BBQ places in the area.
Went in for lunch and ended up there for 7 hours. :)
I was starting close by, and walked over for some Texas bbq for lunch. I sat at the bar and had great service and met some fantastic regulars. I had brisket tacos and smoked chicken wings. Both were great! I ended up sitting in the bar all afternoon until my hosts finished work and joined me. I will definitely be back on this trip.
Great bbq, Great people
Great bbq. I got the 3 meat dinner and it was awesome. Meat is most and cooked to perfection. Sauce is tasty. Potato fully loaded was huge. All the portions were huge. Nice n clean place, loved the ambiance. Service was extremely friendly.
Disappointed in To-Go Drive Thru
I had been looking forward to making the drive to pick up your BBQ for lunch because of the great ratings and pictures that previous guests have posted. Ordered a half rack of the Baby D ribs and 1 / 4 pound of turkey. The turkey was moist but no seasoning and the ribs I can't even enjoy because they weren't sliced. If someone needs to order your ribs to-go and request them to be sliced to enjoy, there should be a disclaimer to make that request. Now I am at work and would love to enjoy my lunch but dont have a sharp enough knife to cut through the ribs. For the price, the disappointment and drive were not worth it.
A very reilable Houston BBQ institution
Formerly across the loop along Hempstead Highway for many years, this newer location has retained the wonderful BBQ that Demeris is known for. In my top 3 BBQ restaurants in Houston. Easier accessed from the loop frontage road than from 18th Street. Still love their brisket poboy basket.
SUPER PAPAS
En viaje de negocios pase a almorzar por este lugar. El lugar esta bien ambientado, bien texano. Comi una papa super gigante con un tamaño nunca visto, hay opciones de agregarle carne / pollo / cerdo, queso, crema y especia. Excelente precio (menos de 10 USD). Recomendado como restaurante al paso.
Good Place for Barbecue- Very Busy too!
Great place for Barbecue yes they have Jalepeno Sausage and regular Sausage- YEAH!! Also there sides are awesome I had the Jalepeno Corn, also Yajaira J was super congrat's for finding her!!
Good Food - Great Service
We loved the BBQ and the Macaroni and Cheese was out of this world!... but what really won us over was the service. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. We had three children with us and they were helping get us seated, refilling drinks, etc.

I have been coming here since I was a child, family owned and always super nice. I love the baked potato with chopped beef sauce on the side. I also love their fries!!!
Good food and good portions
This place smelled so good we decided to try it out the next day. The food was tasty and the portions were really big. I've had baked potatoes other places where you barely get toppings, but they were quite generous, so that made my trip. I had a Jalapeno Sausage Sandwich and it was good. My friend really enjoyed his Potato as well. If you like sauce though as I do, you might have to ask for more, cause I needed it.

I have been going here since I was a kid, they moved to the new location which is fine because it's a lot bigger! I just love this place, the barbecue sauce and my favorite is bake potato, chop beef and hold the foil with everything and sauce on and sauce on the side! Yum I'm in heaven!!

My husband loves this place and knows the owners son, the food is good to me and thoroughly enjoy barbecue.
BBQ - Simply and wholesome
Needed dinner and it was a little late so we grabbed the nearest place. A mixed BBQ plate with some Brisket, Pulled Pork and Sausage plus a side of corn and coleslaw to wrap up the southern experience. Each of the meats were tender and juicy, the sides, well not the focus, but OK.
Pleasant Surprise!!
Looking for BBQ and this wasn't our1st choice, however we certainly lucked out. Four different meals and all were outstanding. Plates were full with the two sides and main entrée. Bread and extras on a salad bar were another bonus.
Best Salad in The City
I think the Greek Salad with Fajita Beef is the best salad in the city. Flavorful, simple and filling, it serves as a great lunch. Get the large one if you want to take home some because the small is plenty. Demeris always gives consistent excellent BBQ not matter which meat you choose.
love the ribs!
Eat-in is comfortable and clean, service is quick, but I usually pick up barbecue ribs and brisket for family and visitors. The staff behind the counter are quick and friendly, always something nice to say while they get your order ready. Be sure to pick up your extra " fixins " in the dining room.. onion, pickles, hot peppers, etc to go with your meal. Very good food.
Good but pricey BBQ
Excellent BBQ sauce with BBQ. You could select two or three meats. Dining in will cost around $18 but if you pick up a sliced beef sandwich in drive through its around $8 and it is reasonable in size for lunch or dinner. Once in a while I go there with my wife or friends to dine in but I pickup in drive through at least twice a month. Really good sandwich!! Highly recommend it!
Always sooo good!
Every time I eat Demeris (we cater from work a lot as well) it's always better than I remembered. Such a pleasant surprise every time. You can't get moist chicken / beef / sausage like this anywhere else. And you certainly can't beat the price. Sides are yummy too!

Went here for dinner with the family. Everything was good but the brisket on a baked potato was fabulous! Husband had the sausage potato but the brisket one was better.
Classic BBQ
You must have BBQ whilst in Houston so this is as good as any. I am not an expert but it was certainly tasty and inexpensive. They have a lot of options including healthy choices and items for vegetarians. Casual, very clean, and fun!
disappointed
My son of 12yrs old is in Md Anderson and wanted BBQ so i sent my husband to get us a fully loaded baked potato and 1lb of brisket onion rings. The bake potato was absolutely disgusting. The meat had nothing but fat chunks in it. The brisket tasted old and rubbery and also had big pieces of fat. I called to speak to the manager and to me he was justifying the quality of food. Didn't care how disappointed my son and i were at all. He then asked me to send him pictures of the food. What manager does that really? Why would i call just to make a complaint. We literally didn't eat dinner because the food was nasty! i have had way better at other BBQ establishments. If y'all want some good BBQ go to Gabbys on N. Shepard. And the manager is more compassionate about his customers. Because to me us as customers are the ones that keep their business open. So lesson to be learned try to fix the problem and keep your customers happy instead of brushing it under the rug. Not everyone is out to lie cheat or steal! So if the owner is reading this please train your managers to be managers!
Good standard Texas BBQ
Went here for an informal business meal with a coworker. Apparently a new building from a previous hole in the wall. As busy as it was at lunchtime the line moved quickly as they had an order-taker working up the line getting everything settled before making it to cash register / counter. Good selection of standard Texas BBQ and a large number of sides to choose. Brisket and jalapeno combo was plenty of food with the two bean sides I got. Large bar of pickles, peppers, etc and self serve drinks. I will fight thru the local construction projects and return when I'm in the area.
Best Barbecue in Houston
Our family has been regulars at this restaurant for over thirty years. The food is always great and whenever we have friends or business associates in town this is the place we take them for excellent Texas Barbecue.
If you are close
Do not get me wrong, it is not bad at all. But it is not exception. The meats are good. Sides not so much. They have a drive thru, but that does not mean you can eat on the run. They are generous with the sauce.
Great food, but check your to-go order!
We love picking up a quick dinner from Demeris, but definitely check your order before you leave! Several times we have received the wrong items, or have been missing items completely. The food is always delicious, and my husband loves their sausage and mac & cheese. The baked potatoes are huge, and slathering one with BBQ makes for quite a vegetarian meal. The service is quite friendly, and there is a huge outdoor patio with TV's to sit outside and enjoy a few drinks during football season. We definitely recommend Demeris as a BBQ spot to enjoy!
Limp French Fries
Ok... so the fries were limp / soggy. I like my fries crispy and golden brown. The meat was very good though. The brisket, chopped beef, and ribs were very tasty. I love the new location.
Great new location
Their new location just inside loop 610 @ 18th street is berry nicely done. The place has a fresh look and an expanded dining area. The bar-B-Q is great and the fries are still the best in town.
Good value, decent food
For what you spend, you get a good amount of food. The food is good, but I have had better. The baked potato is huge and they have tasty sauce. The brisket is tender, but sometimes tastes fatty. Not all of the time, but sometimes they have their off days. The dining area gets crowded as well as the line. I had to take points off for atmosphere because the huge windows directly face a mostly abandoned, ugly shopping mall. The orientation also lets the sun shine directly into your face at certain times of the day. The glass intensifies the heat and blinding rays.
Great Brisket & jalapeno cheese corn!
A second location of this good family-run business, they never disappoint. Our favorites are the beef basket or jalapeno link basket; loaded baked potatoes with beef; the B-man, which is a meaty sort of Frito pie;and the excellent sides including the coldest cole slaw you've ever been served, as well as their (warm) jalapeno cheese corn. YUM! You can side-load up with all the pickles, onions & things. Good Mississippi Mud Pie; brownies not so good, though (a bit dry). Good value for your money. Getting ready to move locations late this year, to be just inside Loop 610. Also do catering, way beyond BBQ...

Alot Ton of BBQ places in Texas and this is another one, I'd been to Demeris twice while living in Houston over 9 years with the last visit in Mid 2004, just a average BBQ place and you could find better.
