Not a tourist destination
quite disappointed with the location and the beach itself. the food was also bad, and there wasnt enough choices and the crew said that they prefer for the guests to check other resto for dining. Also, the kitchen and accommodation are somewhat scattered within the street so we waited for our food to be served a bit delayed because the food were prepared in different kitchens
Phi Phi of the Philippines
When we visited the Resort, some of their amenities were under renovation since some of it were already outdated. But the place is good for relaxation, and there are activities to do like Banana boating. You can also visit the Bataan Power plant.
Phi Phi Resort bataan
A honest review about phi phi resort bataan: 1. Too much flies, even its raining; 2. We pay for Karaoke 1, 500.00 😱; 3. Swimming pool is outdated; 4. The staff are good it's not worth it, not recommended Mark
Nice Sunset
For me this place is average. I start off by saying the staff was nice and polite. The rooms were clean but shower didn't work, toilet got blocked, no toilet roll. We booked Royal Suite and its far from anything royal it was expensive for what was in there. The 2 superior rooms were again average. The whole place could be so much better if maintained properly as it's not a bad resort but needs to be cleaned more around the pool area and not let everyone go in and out onto the beach to the pool, as the pool was full of sand. The pool had too much chlorine so couldn't stay in there too long. No wifi in the resort to or couldn't connect to it. If this resort had a good upgrade I am sure it could become a 5 star. The sunset was lovely I have to say. The Beach was nice and the sea was also great.
best sunset in morong
best sunset in morong bataan. best resort!!!! :) i like the rooms and the services of the hotel in morong bataan. the best places to spend time with your family and enjoy your vacation in a beautiful and peaceful spot to remember
Worst Staycation Ever
Last minute staycation with the family. My parents suggested we book this place since we heard it was owned by Kapampangans (we're from Pampanga). We came a little early for check in, when we arrived, we got lost. We walked for around 5 minutes looking for the reception. We were obviously lost but no one approached us. The reception was inside one the rooms, and there were no signages at all. The only positive thing that happened is that we were allowed to check in early without any fees. We rested for a little while and decided to eat lunch at their resto. We tried to figure out where to order, we approached the bar and there were two men inside trying to fix something. We asked if that was where we had to order, one of them answered, " dito pero wala yung babae " Seriously? He was obviously working for the resort but did not bother getting our orders or atleast politely answering. No one from the two men bothered to call whoever was in charge of taking the orders. So we just sat down and waited since we were too tired to argue. When the girl finally came, we had our orders ready. But she just gave us a menu and left. We had to call her again to order. There were only two other tables occupied so we thought the order would only take about 30 minutes. We decided to go back to the room first and asked them to just call us when the food's ready... we had to wait an hour and half for the food. When the food came, there were no plates and utensils so we had to wait again. At around past 6 pm, there were 4 brownouts. We decided to have dinner at the resto again. We pre-ordered at around 6:30 pm. Waited for another hour and a half for dinner to be served.. we ordered chicked and nilaga. And the beef was really really hard. Impossible to eat... In the morning, there was sand coming out of the toilet's water and the sink and faucet's water as well. There was no clean water. My brother went to the reception to ask for assistance but no one was there. I decided to call all 4 mobile numbers and 2 landline numbera posted in their website and nobody answered in all 6 numbers. We decided to just check out really. We checked out at 8 am. Worst experience ever. I understand that this is nowhere near a 5 star property, but let's atleast train our staff to be more polite and ready to help. Also, we know that you lack staff but if you are running a high occupancy specially on a long weekend, atleast hire extra people to help out in your operations. Lastly, there should always be someone at the reception and most importantly, someone should answer calls at any time of the day. Just delete the numbers in your website if nobody has the phones.
Resort named after a famous group of Thai islands
You must have already heard of Phi Phi Islands. It is a group of islands in Thailand located near Phuket and Krabi. There's a ferry service that would take you there from either of these two locations in just two hours. Now, in the Philippines, there's one resort named after the Phi Phi islands. You wouldn't have to go to Thailand to enjoy the place. Just travel to Morong, Bataan. There are many public buses that can take you there in less than three hours. We went to and stayed overnight at the Phi Phi Hotel and Beach Resort for a faculty meeting. It was one of our school activities. It is a beachfront accommodation (although it also has its own swimming pools). For group meetings, you can avail of any of its various function rooms (function room, conference room, pavilion, convention hall). For overnight stay, on the other hand, the resort offers different types of accommodation (superior rooms, deluxe rooms, dorms, cabanas, villas, suites, etc.). Lowest rate is around 1800 pesos (low season) or 2300 pesos (peak season). For relaxation, you can take a dip in the beach anytime you want (provided that the wind is not so strong and the waves are not so high). You can play volleyball on the beach, go fishing, jetski, try the resort's foods and drinks at its bar and restaurant, or simply breathe some fresh air in one of its picnic huts. Over-all, my stay at Phi Phi Hotel and Beach resort was very relaxing. It's a good place for a brief get-away from my daily hectic work schedule in Manila. Highly recommended.
Feeling Dissappointed
Type of Room booked: Dormitory Date: Aug 20 to 21 2017 Feeling dissappointed! Room is not clean. Their floor mat is all wet. It smell clorox and old. The aircon needs replacement. Electrical needs to fix. Electric fan needs to clean. No side table or cabinet for our things. Their pillows needs replacement. There is no refrigerator. Comfort room sink clogs and smell awful. Needt renovation. This resort is not strict. They lack security.. No wonder that 1 room lost every valuable while they are in a wedding celebration. They allow cigarette and vape smoking even there are non-smoking signage. Highly Not Recommended
Lax security resulted into robbery
The place was the venue for our relative's wedding. Our family arrived 8 hours prior to the event. We were surprised that no one ushered us to the rooms reserved by the groom. So, we all went straight to an open area where we thought we would find the receptionist, however, much to our dismay we were not able to find assistance. Later in the day when everyone was prepared for the wedding, we headed to the venue, the building beside our room. While the ceremony is ongoing we had no idea that our valuable things such as MacBook, other gadgets, wallets with ATM and credit cards, and cash were all stolen right under their noses. At first, we didn't have any idea that we were robbed because our stuff were in order until finding out that our valuable things were gone. We thought that our belongings would be secure within our rooms, we even double-checked the locks on the windows and doors before we left. When we discovered what happened, we immediately reported the case to the management. We were disappointed with their slow response, they did not perform an initial investigation within their staff which we think is negligence on their part. Their insufficient monitoring devices (CCTV) were not able to cover most of the premises. The supposedly happy and important celebration turned into a nightmare that we wouldn't forget. I hope the case will be resolved immediately.
Need a maintenance
The place was pretty good (during its newly constructed time). Nice front. As time passed-by the resort needs to have some repairs (broken shower, repainting, doors already messed, lavatory holes also rusty, pool tiles broken, etc.) staffs were accommodating. Food is not that bad compared to what I'd read. Other items for sale is not fair (some of the items are expensive. EG. Instant coffee ₱25)
Not a great place
This place is not recommended. Please! Save your money! Just a waste of money and effort. The pools are not clean, lots of sand!! The people of the resort are not accomodating. One of our rooms has faulty aircon.
Crowded to the Max
We held our company outing in this resort and unfortunately, most companies are also holding their company outings here. The outcome? Well, it was like you are still in Manila because of the large crowd. We were not able to swim in their pools as almost all pools looked dirty so we just rode a boat to a nearby island. The food took forever to be served and had our lunch at almost 2 pm.
Best Sunset
The sunset at the Resort are the Best ❤ They have spacious room (Suite Room). Room is overlooking at the beach, area is clean but smell " mapanghi ". Beach is clean and kids friendly. No signal at the Room 1st floor Room. Free WIFI but not working (sadness) but its OKEY because i have more time to explore the beach and the area. They need to improve their Service.
Cottage overlooking the beach
Staffs were very accommodating and friendly. Cottage that was given to us was perfect. We can watch our kids playing by the beach. Resort fee is not that expensive and quite fair. At 200 per person plus 100 corkage fee it was reasonable considering we were just a step away from the beach. The only drawback was the grilling area was a little far from the cottage but still understandable since cottages were made of wood. c ",)
Could be Better
We stayed here on Christmas Day, and there was a typhoon coming through around on the 25th and 26th, so the Cost Guard had closed the beach, luckily there was the pool. The room was clean, but the outside could have been looked at. The dinning area was very average and meals took a long time to be served. Breakfast was mostly OK, though 2 of our group had hotsilog, and the single small hotdog was still cold inside, was most likely cooked from frozen.
Pet friendly beach with wading pools
The rooms for 4 are spacious enough and the aircon is cold. The pools are not that clean but it's fine for wading. The kids enjoyed them a lot. The beach is rustic and open to dogs. Many friendly dogs on the beach. It is what is is. A pet-friendly beach resort for families looking for a place to fit a smaller budget.
Skip this place-- PLEASE
Pictures can be deceiving, so don't make the mistake of booking in this hotel. Resort is dirty, eating area looks a drivers' eating place, limited food choices (quite expensive for the quality), dirty pool, ugly beach.
Bataan's best vacation spot
I really appreciate the food. Money is worth in terms of meal and accommodation. Pet friendly resort, my furbaby feels at home by the way she sleeps. :) We booked 2 Suite rooms. Clean and spacious. View is great! Staffs are courteous. All our request were accommodated with a smile. Great job. Peaceful and safe. We'll surely be back!
This is crap
Don't be deceived by the photos, unfortunately, I was. The place is dirty and not well-maintained. The food sucks, literally, you're just eating solid food. There are no restaurants nearby and they charge a corkage of P100 per person if you bring your own food. The rooms are small and the bathroom is full of dirt and spider webs. The place is a total waste of money. You pay P3100 for a night's stay - totally not worth it. I feel so embarrassed picking this place for a family gathering and I am NEVER going back.
Adequate
The place was adequate, we didnt get to stay in our room that much nor got to use the facilities of the place coz the main contingent of our group was staying in a rented villa near this place. Very basic features, old tv and smallish ac. The twin beds were big enough though and despite the loud videoke from all sides of the hotel our room was relatively quiet. The cr was dirty and very hard to keep clean and dry, there was no drain plug in the toilet area of the cr.
Not worth the drive and the price..
Our family recently went on a get together at the Phi Phi Hotel and Beach Resort in Morong, Bataan. The drive took us around three hours from Makati via EDSA passing by the SCTEX going to Subic then to Morong. As soon as we arrive, I immediately had a negative impression of the hotel. The office has no signage and was very small so were cramped inside. Registration took around 15 minutes with us standing up while waiting because the staff does not know which room was already available for us. We stayed in the suite facing the beach which cost P5800. The room is good only for quadruple sharing so we paid P600 for the extra person. The bedroom was spacious with two queen size beds and an extra bed. Take note that this does not include any free breakfast nor bottled water. The bathroom was very dirty and has lots of termites on the wall. The faucet was also faulty so every time I would open it, I would get wet. Dining in Phi Phi was also a nightmare. Every time we ate in their restaurant, it felt like there was a fly infestation. Even during dinner, there were lots of flies but it was worse during lunch time. Lighting two candles at the same time didn't help shoo away the flies. It also took about an hour for our food to be served. Food was expensive and was not really delectable Kapampangan as they advertised in their website. Sadly, there were no other food establishments in the area so we were left with no other choice. Take note that they serve dinner until 7pm only. When we stayed last June, we did not get to enjoy the beach because the waves were too strong. There was actually someone who drowned in the adjacent resort because of the strong current. Sand in the beach is grayish black so if you're looking for fine, white sand, Phi Phi is not the beach for you. The are four pools in Phi Phi: infinity dip pool, kid's swimming pool, olympic pool and theraflex pool. There is no lifeguard in the pool area so make sure that you watch over your kids if they're going to swim. If you plan to go to Phi Phi for a day tour, cottages and beach huts are available. The cottage costs P3000 while the hut costs P1000. Just to be honest, I find them ridiculously expensive because there's nothing special about them. All in all, the stay in Phi Phi was not exactly how I expected it to be. They need major, major improvements in their service, cleanliness, and food. If you're in Manila and you're looking for a beach escape, the beaches in Batangas are definitely so much better.
Not as fun as it's name :|
A friend recommended this place for our get together. Of all the places I've been to, this I guess is the worst. What you see in the internet is not what you will get. Not at all. Plus: 1. The beach. The sand is very fine. No pebbles, no stones that will trip you or hurt your feet. 2. Super daming sockets. There are like 8 sockets in our room alone. :) Deltas: I will talk about the resort as a whole. 1. What we expected is a resort by the beach. We are quite excited because you get to have a pool facing the beach just like the resorts in Laiya, but to our dismay it is not. This resort has 2 some kind of branches, the one NEAR the beach and one that standing with the rest of the " resorts " along the road (unfortunately this is where our rooms are). The pools are small that people looked so coward and the water looks so dirty. We expected a resort from Laiya and ended up getting a public resort from Bulacan with P50 entrance fee. 2. There are way too many rooms / apartments / verandas that makes it very crowded. No feeling of being close to nature or that sort. 3. Karaoke machines are everywhere so that makes it very noisy. 4. There are a lot of minor staff but it is hard to ask for something to be done because they are all over the place. No one organizes things. Even the front desk is nothing special. And because they are chaotic, things gets messy. The key that is supposedly for my friend's room was given to me. Imagine if that was given to somebody else we do not know. It took them time to figure out where the key is. 5. The whole place is kinda dirty. Front desk has wet floor. Items are all over the place. Tsk. Tsk. Now let's go to the rooms: 6. Our room was not made when we checked in. And the staff does not have any clue. There are garbage on the floor, the beddings were not changed and we found that out ourselves. We waited for another 30 minutes for them to clean the room. So imagine what kind of cleaning service will that be. 7. Bathroom smells bad. There are no deodorizer. Shower and faucet are not working. I do not complain taking a bath with a balde and tabo but you are in a resort and they have a shower atleast make sure it is working. 8. So we used tabo and balde, what is funny and annoying is the pail has a leak on it. So you have to keep the water flowing when you do your thing. 9. TV remote is missing. LOL. And they were not able to find it even during check out. Tips: - You can bring in food inside the resort. Just make sure to bring your own things. We brought our own stove (the small one for mountain climbing), own rice cooker, bring your own jug for your water. Just bring everything. - You can bring extra blanket, the room good for four only has a blanket for two. - Bring your toiletries because they do not have it. - There are sari sari store outside the resort where you can buy ice and other stuff. What more can I say, this resort just left me speechless but not in a good way. Am I going back? Probably? Probably not. Especially not during summer. Again the final say is still yours. What we are after is to enjoy anyway :)
Family vacation
We occupied 2 rooms - Veranda I and Terraza 3. Both rooms have termites on the walls. Toilets have no flush. No refrigerator to store cold food & drinks. TV reception is terrible and no cable channels. No food available anywhere. We didn't have any choices for breakfast, all they can serve was " Tapsilog " and it tasted like " s & 1t " !!! The area is full of garbage! 👎 I don't recommend this resort to my friends and we're not going back even if it's free of charge. Don't be deceived by their website.
Failed family outing getaway
Worst resort i have been. Check in time took long time. We waited about an our outside the office to think that it so hot. My aunties are complaining and wanted to go to rooms already but they said rooms are not yet ready. Check in time is 2pm but its already past 2pm. When they said we can go to rooms we are surprise becoz they still cleaning and sorroundings around the area is so dirty and full of trash that smell bad. Our rooms are dirty and terrace have bad smell. We clean our terrace because cleaners so slow. We pour water to terrace to remove bad smell. Our toilet drainage is not working and bowl is dirty. We will not come back again. Worst experience.
Company Team Building
Location. It is quite a bit far from Manila but you can do stop overs during the trip. Actually, it is one activity I enjoyed during the trip. We ate, shopped at outlet stores and had coffee. The road leading there is a smooth ride and sight seeing is wonderful. Ride during the day because its pitch dark at night going there. Amenities. We stayed at a room for 20 persons. There were 10 queen-size double deck beds. One can actually share a bed. The air conditioner is too small for the room. They gave free small pieces of soap and use of thin towels. There is nothing special about the food they serve. I felt that the servers were college students who don't like to be there. Toilet and bath badly needs an upgrade because the faucet in our room broke. There are two pools, both clean but we had no time. The function room is spacious but furniture need a upgrade also. It becomes so hot when the AC is not working. Beach. The waves are peaceful. The sand is super fine and grayish. The water is clean. We had fun playing team games here. Beautiful sunrise and the sunset superb.
" Our poor Valentine get away 2016 "
poor accomodation terrible room..... smells so bad specially Suite Room D.... most of the food in the menu are not available...... island hopping is good with manong na bangkero.... dont forget to buy tuyo n sapsap...... so SARAP!
thin walls, nice people
it's a pretty secluded area of the philippines, i was the only non filipino there. the beach is long and surrounded by beautiful mountains but quite dirty. the wifi was garbage, and they set off fireworks til midnight (it was xmas eve) and my neighbors blasted the TV so i had to put in my headphones. not really the best experience for the price. was looking for a more quiet venture. but the people were nice, the food decent (kitchen closes at 7) and the room clean, with hot water and A / C
Clean and comfortable room
I went to Bataan with my business partners for our strategic planning. We booked our room a day before our trip. Room was ok. There are lots of guests when we arrived so food service was taking long. A very helpful staff, Aiza, was very accommodating. She's in-charge of the room supervisions but was very accommodating with our kitchen requests.
Good for family vacations
The resort is quite far if you're coming from Manila. The facilities do not disappoint, the villas are clean, the dining hall is also clean. If you're snorkeling, it's not the venue for this activity we only saw a few starfishes. It's good for family vacation as aside from the beach there are several pools. Choose rooms or villas near the beach; the other part of the hotel is across the road and you'll have to cross it if you want to go to the beach
2 minutes from the pier!!!
Very nice and clean hotel, nice staff no ac at the lobby, wifi is good and the room was nice as well the only problem we got to small superadded bed and not so comfortable. The hotel is right next to the pier and that was the best thing to found out when we got there after a long day. 2 minutes walking and u there. We got the room and the view was not as the picture showed online but as soon as I told the reception lady the changed the room for us.
Good for team building
We had our team building last year here. They have obstacles good for team building. Not sure if they have a function hall but we only use a room for our event. Room is okay and clean, pool is a lil bit small but not sure if the other pool is also theirs. Beach is okay with a volleyball. Food is okay too. Nothing spectacular, only the obstacles for team building.
Good food albeit a bit pricey!
Huge rooms good for families, no problems checking in although we arrived at the resort close to midnight. The beach and ambiance was very relaxing. The best thing about the resort is how good the food was although it was a bit pricey, they had good sized servings, worth every peso paid. The staff were attentive and gave good service.
Terrible
This place is awful. The only good things I can say about my experience here are: a) The resort is located right on the beach b) The god-awful karaoke machine DID finally stop for a few hours c) I wasn't murdered in my sleep This is a resort meant for locals to bring a huge clan and cram them all into one room, do their own cooking, and have a good time. This place would be fine for that. But for a typical foreign traveler, it's not a good option. I booked this place for two nights on short notice, and everywhere else in the area was booked, so I had no other choice. The place looks pretty good online, in photos, but when you get there you quickly notice the value of professional photography. Our room was large, stinky and dirty. The swimming pools are all dirty. The staff were nice enough, but almost all appear to be around 20 years old. They can't make change for a soda at the " bar ". Really? You don't have a till to change a 100php note for a 50php soda? And the karaoke was blaring loud about 75 feet from our room, and would blare through the night and into the early morning hours. Awful! As for food, we went to inquire about dinner the first night and discovered that the chef had taken the night off. It was about 5pm! The night off? So we had to walk to the nearby Coral View resort to eat dinner. (Not a bad choice! It appears to be a much nicer place than the Phi Phi, and the food was pretty good.) Given our experience with the Phi Phi that first day, and with the loud karaoke, we never did inquire about any other meals at Phi Phi. We ate breakfast and dinner at Coral View, and lunch at the Jollibee-on-wheels in Morong. Phi Phi does have wifi about the property, but it was spotty. Still, it was better than some places we've stayed in the Philippines. The first night at the Phi Phi featured relentless karaoke that made it difficult to sleep. The karaoke was so loud in the room that we cranked the TV volume way up. It finally stopped at around 12:30AM, but then the STAFF fired it up at 6:30AM the next morning and periodically played it or sang the rest of the day. Karaoke is the bane of the Philippines. The walls of the room were so thin we could hear the guy in the next room talking in a normal voice, and could hear the TVs on both sides of us. The aircon was barely an improvement for our sun-baked room, and I wonder if it wasn't throwing off more heat than cool air. The afternoon was brutal, and I anticipate the room temperature must have been 90F with the aircon on. That said, we spent little time in the room itself, as we were out sightseeing most of the time. I have never written a negative review of a hotel, but this was the worst place I have ever stayed. I would never consider staying at the Phi Phi again.
Phi phi island resort
Well, just sharing our experience in this simple resort yet the ambiance at the sea shore is so relaxing.. the staff are nice most specially the sales manager he is approachable accomodating.. the room was nice the resort over all is clean well managed but one thing i noticed the price of their food is not that reasonable.
Worst experience ever
Service: The management did not reply to our queries after we made the downpayment. The staff were unorganized and we always had to follow up the requests every time. No manager was visible to attend to the guests as well. Our food came 2 hours after we ordered. Food: Their food is cold when served and the utensils that we used were plastic. I doubt that the glassware were even sterilized. Amenities: Their swimming pool is soiled and the water also most like came from the sea. We did not even dared to swim in there. Even our bathroom water is salty so even if we rinsed after swimming it still feels sticky.
saga of frustration
This just confirm the same frustrations we experienced with the past guests of the beach resort, which should cater for corporate outing or team building rather than for family outing. So Instead of consuming the paid 2 reserved nights via agoda, we just stayed overnight with everyone (8 pax) full of frustration including my grandson of 6 yrs old.. 1. ROOMS: We booked for an " Island Dorm " facing the swimming pool area, but was instead given one facing the basketball / playground area (No. 9), with the reason that there was no more available room on that side. a. The air-con was not strong enough to cool the room the whole day that we kept it working. b. Although the comfort room was clean and with heater, the unbearable foul smell was so terrible that we even bought deodorizer to neutralize it but to no avail. c. One of the double deck wooden beds have crack and may collapse injuring the person in the lower deck. d. Only 3 towels were provided for 8 of us, with the reason that the place was so full and not enough towels were available. Also no blanket was provided even for the kids, so we have to use towel as their blanket. e. My wife, son and his wife, and a maid have some unexplained feeling and easiness during their sleep, and when they were sharing and discussing about their experiences, my grandson of 1 year old suddenly showing some peculiar behavior as if looking for something and reacting to it for almost half an hour. 2. RESTAURANT: When we went to their so called " Dining Area " and asked for their menu, they don't have any one at all, in which the waitress have to asked from the kitchen what is available. a. How about the buffet meal? The staff don't have idea about it, so what kind of food shall be served to the kids for dinner? Their funny answer was that only 1 chef report on that labor day (May 1) to accommodate hundreds of guests if not thousand. We even called and inquire from their office before we booked, and was informed that there shall be a cordage fee of Php 100 / pax, for food to be bring in but buffet were always available. b. Since we did not expect this kind of situation, we have to go and source our food from the small kitchenette in the town proper, and just content buying some groceries, improvising tools to grill the fish and meat bought from the market, what's an experience to be back in boy scout days again. 3. SWIMMING POOL: Although we saw them filtrating the water in the morning but NOT cleaning it, The quality of the water is not safe and sanitary, since its quite blared and greenish, so the tiles of the pools is not visible at 3 ft, same with the kiddie pool. And when I try to swim for a few laps, the water taste salty and smelly too, so instead of enjoying the pool to quench the heat, I just have to compliment myself enjoying the cool shower rather than being treated with skin diseases. 4. BOATS RIDE: Although this may not be related to the beach resort, but those banca rental were making a kill on tourist particularly to foreign tourists. a. For island hopping, they charge Php 2, 000.00 / banca for 10pax but Php 5, 000.00 for foreign tourist. b. When I tried to hire a boat for fishing, they would charge me Php 1, 000.00 / hr, that means If we left 5:00am and return noon or about 7 hrs, they would charge me Php 7, 000.00. Feel so sorry to my family members for choosing this hotel, available room on that side. 1.
Just an okay hotel for your weekend escapade
Budget hotel. Food is alright and nothing fancy thou it took a very long time to be served. Phi phi has two swimming pools. The rooms were alright but some rooms are located on the other side of the road. Free wifi thou you can mainly use it only on their dining area as the signal wasn't sufficient enough in our room. Beachfront is good enough, typical brown-ish sand.
Pictures can be deceiving, not so vacation
This is my first time in Bataan, and hope that my choice of stay would be enjoyable and relaxing, unfortunately, I feel sad because I expect too much with the " hotel " (my son who is 8 yrs old) told me that it's not a hotel, it's more of a house with many rooms. First I can't complain about the staff, they are friendly, when we arrive at around 1230 (which I may say is too early), they told me to stay in the dining area, and have lunch 1st before checking in, since check in time is at 2pm, so I order our lunch, what's so frustrating, is that their restaurant has limited food to offer, did you know that ordering a " pancit guisado " will take you an hour?.. Their food range from 250-300++ per order, small serving good for 1 in my opinion but they told us its good for 2-3 person. Lunch was serve after 45 mins, staff are friendly, but the food, they still have to add more. by then, I hope the 2 rooms are already available, well lucky for me only 1 is available, while the other one was being clean up, (word of advise, after your room being clean, please open the room to aired the smell of the cleanser that they use to mop / clean the rooms, cause if not it will give you headache the whole night,) Rooms are clean and spacious, since we booked on a suite room, (picture is the same one on their website), don't have much, 2 beds that is good for 4people with 4 pillows (I order extra ph50 / pillow), tv is still the boxed type, 2chairs and 1 folding table, the bathroom? Well beside the fact that it is too small, sad to say there is also no water : ( Pillows / linen for bed are clean but the detergent they use are so strong that it stick on the clothes that you wear, maybe they can try a different brand that is not too strong. Luckily we bought our own water, since there is no complimentary water as well. Pools are not clean, as I said don't be deceive with the pictures, we thought that pool are big, well sad to say its not. Good thing there is the beach, but it is best to swim on the other side since its cleaner compare with the one in front of them. Try riding a Banca going to the side where morons star is, the water there is much cleaner. All in all, if you just want to have a place to sleep in, this is fine, but don't expect too much with " any " amenities, since there is none. It's just a place to sleep on. I never thought I would say this, I would never recommend this place if you are looking a place that looks like Hyatt or diamond hotel in Manila.
Very good for some rest and relaxation. Pet friendly too!!!
This is our second trip to Morong and our second stay at Phi Phi Hotel and Beach Resort and we enjoyed our stay there both times! The first time it was just me, my wife and our daughter. We had a fun, relaxing time there which included Valentine's day 2012. Facilities were kept clean, air conditioning worked well, shower, cable TV, etc. were all functioning with nary a problem. Some channels for the cable were in Mandarin yes, but you cannot blame the hotel for this because this is what the cable service can offer in their area. I can't complain regarding this because we didn't go there to watch cable but to enjoy the beach. On our recent trip, we brought our pet shihtzu and he had a blast playing at the beach! This is a big plus for us pet lovers. However, if you intend to bring your pet, make sure your pet is manageable and that you will practice responsible pet ownership (clean up after him, don't let him poo at the beach, etc.). The sand on the beach is not white but clean. Roel, the manager, sees to it that the area that belongs to Phi Phi is maintained well. The staff were constantly being trained and preparing for the summer holiday / peak season during our stay and I must say that Roel has been doing a good job. The internet connection was good. It has been that way during both of our visits. I was even able to work (because I still had to) in both of our stays there. However, expect it to go slow when everybody else goes online. That is normal in any network, but I do hope internet connectivity still improves now that they are working on a new building. Yes, Phi Phi Hotel and Beach Resort is working on expanding and all the workers were busy as bees constructing a new building right beside the original one when we were there. Maybe its 80% finished by now, I don't know; but I wish them all the best. The staff were friendly, always greeting us with a smile. They were helpful too and would go the extra mile when I ask them for something that they don't have. The food was great though they ran out of beef when we were there. Just your common Filipino menu and that suited as fine but I do hope that they expand their culinary offerings. Will I go back! Of course! We will bring along our friends as well! (Oh, and last year we went to Pawikan Island. This year we just stayed at the beach and simply relaxed.)
Beautiful Location, Horrible Service
I'll try and make this short because I'm still tired from our two day trip to Morong. We had planned to stay somewhere else but my sister, who is horribly afraid of birds, was turned off by the pigeon house in that resort. So we moved to Phi-Phi. The place looks okay. Resembles a love motel. There's a small pool that goes up to 5 feet, and a kiddie pool. Poolside restaurant and huts for those who brought their own food, which we should have done because the food there is expensive. Unreasonably expensive. Think Php 185 for a tiny serving of tapsilog. Plus it generally took them two to three hours to serve our orders, COLD, and we constantly had to chase staff down for utensils, glasses, etc. I ordered a fried egg and some toast for breakfast, thinking it unlikely that they would take too long to serve it, but it took them an hour. Not only that, but they forgot about my husband's order of scrambled eggs and didn't even give me a fork or a drinking glass. I guess they wanted me to eat the egg with my bare hands to save on dishwashing liquid. It's not like the place was bustling with customers, either: it was just us, a party of uhm around 15, and another family of about 10. Most of our two-day stay was spent waiting for our meals. And the food isn't all that good, either. Thank god my sister brought snacks and booze and the management waived the corkage fee. Our room was clean but it smelled of poop. It smelled of poop when we got there, and it smelled of poop when we left. We reported it to the staff and a girl came by and promised to have someone clean up whatever it was that was causing the smell, but nobody came. They promised to transfer us to another room, but they forgot. So we had to live with the mystery poop smell for a day and a half. Enjoy the wide array of cable channels: Nickelodeon... in Mandarin. HBO... in Mandarin. V... in Mandarin. No free toiletries: just a USED mini soap. Blankets had holes. Heated shower. When we were leaving, a staff member approached us and told us that our room was missing a towel. We checked the three rooms that we rented: no towels were missing. The staff are nice but untrained, and horribly underpaid (we asked). Morong, Bataan, of course is beautiful. Clean, clear water with cute little fishies, nice beaches with hermit crabs and shells and the like. Cheap seafood if you buy it from the locals. The locals were pretty nice: we got to know a nice boatman and his nephew. Generally, Morong, Bataan is a wonderful place to vacation in. Just don't stay at Phi-Phi. It's not worth the money.
Relaxing place just outside of Subic
We found a nearer alternative to our usual holy week rendezvous in Iba, Zambales with Morong, Bataan. But with convenience comes a higher rate of course. But I did not mind because I enjoyed the short 2.5 hour trip than the 5 hour trip to Iba. I had no reservations at Phi-Phi last year but we were lucky there was 1 room left in the hotel. The room had 2 quuen size beds and 1 double pull-out bed so it was perfect for us 4 adults and 2 kids. The beach could be seen from our hotel veranda. The food choices in Phi-Phi was limited so we bought food to be grilled in the nearby market. Btw, we never leave the house, if on a roadtrip, without boiled egg and adobo just to be safe. We always bring our water heater and rice cooker which was allowed in Phi-Phi so we didn't have food problems. The beach in Morong is clean but the sand is not white. Phi-phi has 2 pools so my kids enjoyed swimming. I commend the hotel staff - from the receptionist to the parking attendant - for being warm and accommodating. They are always around to help guests. But similar to Zambales, there are no night happenings in Morong. But the good thing with Bataan, upon check-out, you can go to nearby Subic to eat and shop. And if you still have energy, go to Treetop adventure.
Best of both world.
if you are looking for an out or the best of both ocean and pool swimming and other water activities, this is the place to be. although it's side by side to other beach resort, phi phi resort separate that with their helpful staff, excellent food, calm water (at least when we were there) and just way out there in a nice and quiet provincial style of living. we've been to many beach resorts in the philippines and this resort ranks amongst the five star.
Food is not good. Very few choices
Can be good only for group. Donot make high expectation coz there is Nothing to expect.
