Superb bed and breakfast

My daughter and I stayed 2 nights as a get away present for her 40th birthday. It was a wonderful experience mostly due to the wonderful hosts who. made us feel so at home. Lovely house and location, spotlessly clean, excellent tasty breakfasts and great conversation! Thankyou for a beautiful memory!

Exactly how a B & B should be!

Elaine and Dave are wonderfully warm and inviting B & B hosts and made our stay most memorable. Tuktawayin is in a fabulous location, on the shore of Gull lake and a very easy 10 minute walk to the centre of the town. The house is spotlessly clean and very comfortable - especially the bed we had! Playing scrabble in the cozy room overlooking the lake was most relaxing. Breakfasts were outstanding - home made / baked and I was particularly impressed that Elaine checked her records to see what my wife had the last time that she stayed to ensure that we had something different. If you ever had doubts about staying in a B & B rather than a hotel or other option - don't hesitate to book here. Elaine and Dave will make you feel very welcome and their local knowledge and passion will add to your stay. Looking forward to our next trip.

Very Nice Place

I have spent time in many B & B's. We really appreciated the little extra attention we received here over our short 2 night stay. We got excellent advice on hiking and restaurants on as need basis. They even let us borrow their canoe. Really nice place, beautifully situated right on Gull Lake.

Indian Summer in Gravenhurst

Great, super clean and extremely cozy B & B. Super nice and extremely helpful hosts. Hiking tours were picked out, boat tours booked, restaurants recommended and canoe lessons given. Very good breakfast with homemade puff pastry and full grain blueberry pan cakes - extremely delicious! Highly recommeded!🍁

PARADISE

I don't know how to put this place in words. It was just magical... We were tired of the city and just wanted to have some peace and enjoy the nature and this place was beyond our expectations! The house, the lake, the nature and most importantly Elaine and Dave was just amazing. Incredible hospitality, amazing food and with just one word a PARADISE. Can't wait to come back here! Thank you for everything Robbins'!

Heaven on Earth

An extraordinary traditional B & B. Personal service and care by Elaine and Dave who live in the house with their guests. Wonderful hot breakfast each morning. Location is on Gull Lake with access to their dock by steps. Full perrennial garden out front with a porch of chairs and rockers. So inviting after a day sunning or swimming off their dock. Truly a piece of heaven. Thank you Elaine and Dave. We will be back soon. Joan M.

Very beautiful b & b

Very cozy b & b. The hosts were very accommodating and have a lovely home on Gull Lake. We went in the fall but can imagine how picturesque it would be in the summer with all the flowers in bloom. Very nice location. Nice touch to have the hosts eat breakfasts with us. They are very knowledgeable in the area. Very clean b & b. Really loved all the custom woodwork in their home.

A lovely place to stay

You come to a waterfront located house with beautiful environment. You are welcome by the hosts with their great hospitality. After you sleep on a bed as comfort as your own bed and stay in a place as clean as your house, you will have a nice and healthy breakfast in a lakeview room in the morning. We stayed here in late fall and we enjoyed our stay in this lovely place. Thank you, Elaine and Dave. We surely will come back! Dennis and Emma

Sweet spot on the lake

The welcome and hospitality was top notch. Elaine & David are very knowledgeable about the area & make you feel comfortable in their beautiful home. The 'Muskoka room' had a great view of the lake & grounds. Unfortunately boats were put away for the season, but the drive thru the colourful local roads were stunning. Breakfasts were delicious and filling. Loved all the fruit! All amenities that you need are provided. Hope we get to return!

Lovely Lovely Lovely B & B

We were looking for a quick break from home and decided to head to Muskoka as it wasn't too much of a drive from Toronto and we had not visited Gravenhurst before. We had originally planned to stay in a local hotel but it was a little pricey so we decided to look for a B & B and somewhere a little quieter. Having seen the pictures and read some reviews we settled on Tuktawayin and like everyone else who has stayed here we LOVED it.. As soon as you step out of your car you notice the beautiful garden that slopes up towards the house. Elaine was sitting out on the open front porch and both she and Dave immediately made us feel very welcome. The house is lovely inside and it is very quick to feel settled in.. By day two we felt like we were on a happy family vacation. Elaine and Dave make a great breakfast too and a special treat is that they sit down and eat with you. As there are just two guest rooms, breakfast is small and intimate and extremely relaxing. Added to that the dining room looks down over the garden to the dock and Gull lake, which was tempting all weekend. We managed to go out on our kayaks 3 times and explored the lake from end to end... This a 10 out of 10 bed & breakfast! The rooms are immaculate and you have all the towels and amenities you need. Another pleasure is the comfy seating areas - the Muskoka room and living room where we relaxed on our own or with the other 2 guests that were staying there at the same time as us. I would not hesitate to recommend this Bed and Breakfast to anyone - as soon as we left I was trying to figure out when we could come back!. Dave and Elaine also have lived in the area for a long time and really take the time to help you make the most of your time there.

" A wonderful lakeside B & B "

We stayed at this beautiful place for three days and had a wonderful time. Our hosts Elaine and Dave went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and welcomed in their home. Accommodations were very comfortable. Breakfasts were outstanding, fresh, delicious and filling. The front porch and beautiful flower garden were so inviting and relaxing, and the lake view from Muskoka room was amazing. Elaine and Dave, we want to thank you again for a truly beautiful experience. You exceeded our expectations! Mike & Marica, Toronto

Exceeded all expectations

Being welcomed by Dave and Elaine instantly erased any concerns of how comfortable I might be by choosing this warm lovely place to be while staying in the area for a couple of days. I knew I would be back again to be able to enjoy the beautiful and tranquil surroundings. There is an incredible warmth to this lovely home obviously a reflexion of much love and care by Elaine and Dave. Having an immaculate and comfortable bed and room only added to the experience. Breakfast which is served with a view of Gull Lake was simply the best. Simple, fresh, creatively presented and good! I once worked for a wonderful company whose motto was " We exceed your expectations ". Elaine and Dave you have done just that. Thank you so much for everything. It was such a pleasure to have spent time in your company and your home. The moment I stepped in your door I felt safe, welcomed and content.

Charming property & lovely owners

Elaine & Dave are two of the warmest and most charming people one could hope to meet. The room was immaculate and the property is lovely and beautifully maintained both inside and out. With it's lakefront location Tuckawayin is one of the nicest B & Bs we've stayed in. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

We always go back to Tuktawayin!

My boyfriend and I love this place for a weekend getaway. This B and B is spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We have stayed in both rooms. The Lakeview is spacious with a large bed. The garden view has twin beds that convert to a king with this amazing pillow bed topper - it was so comfortable! Breakfasts are fantastic, healthy and very creative. There is lovely dock you can relax on and you are close to the town of Gravenhurst. Not too far is Bracebridge. The owners, Dave and Elaine Robbins are very friendly and make you feel most welcome. They can make great suggestions for things to do. The best place to stay in Gravenhurst.

The Quintessential B & B

We have been to several B & B's across Canada and there are certain common elements that are standard to the better ones, such as genial hosts, clean and comfortable accommodation and first-rate breakfasts. From the moment we arrived at the Robbins' Tuktawayin B & B there was a sense this establishment went well beyond the requisite elements. It starts from when you enter their secluded, tree-shaded property and continues as your eyes fixate on Elaine's lovingly tended garden. The calming effect these visual cues have on you cannot be underestimated. I liken it to benefiting from a Valium without actually having to take one. Elaine will modestly tell you that she really doesn't do much to affect this horticultural wonder but the Daisy Award bestowed on their property from the Town of Gravenhurst, with a marker at the driveways' entrance, indicates otherwise. The general sense of well-being is enhanced when you step into their lakeside cottage and see the expansive kitchen, living area and glassed-in front room with a panoramic view. The latter space is where I spent the lion's share of my stay, as I was recovering from surgery. The dining / breakfast room, which is also glassed-in, offers a fantastic view of Gull Lake. If you are fortunate enough to face it as you consume your meal it will surely add to the experience. The bedrooms may be modest in size but have incredibly comfortable beds and plenty of storage space. The nearly silent ceiling fans add a sense of nostalgia but also play an important functional purpose in air circulation, which along with the black out blinds contribute to a good nights' rest. In one area where this B & B really shines is that it offers lakeside accommodation at a fraction of the price of nearby hotels and resorts. So if your only aim is to while away the day on a dock and take refreshing dips in the lake, you can. Feeling more energetic? Ask to use the canoe or a paddleboard. If pampering is more your style, they offer a powerboat tour of Gull Lake for a nominal fee. Your hosts both pitch in to produce superb breakfasts. And while some of the offerings may seem standard, the additional touches elevate them beyond the ordinary. For example, one morning we were served French toast, which was generous, garnished with wild, not cultivated, blueberries. As a tea drinker, I often bemoan the fact that we are treated as an afterthought. Not at the Robbins' where the majority of teas on offer were loose leaf and purchased from The Blue Willow Tea Shop in town. On the second morning, we were served a very hearty oatmeal, which was Elaine's own recipe consisting of several whole grains with numerous garnishes. As a fine accompaniment, a basket of freshly baked scones graced our table that was even more appealing with Dave's homemade blueberry jam. To top it off a bowl of refreshing fruit salad was a nice touch. The care that Elaine and Dave take is what adds such wonderful and critically important touch to their B & B: From their initial welcome, Dave actually waited for us in the driveway, having an abundance of information on local activities, events and shopping to accommodating our differing dietary needs. All was handled with a laid back but attentive approach of well-schooled hospitality veterans. One caveat is the numerous stairs up to the house from the driveway and down to the dock from the back. If you have mobility issues their establishment may present a challenge. Otherwise, if you enjoy a beautiful lakeside cottage without any of the work that comes with it, take a look at Robbins' Tuktawayin B & B, you won't be disappointed.

Fantastic View

This accommodation was everything it was advertised to be and more. The home was immaculate, the setting tranquil, and the breakfast delicious and nutritious. There is a large common area that is open to guests who choose not to spend all of their time outside by the lake. Information on the local area was readily available, as well as restaurant recommendations from the owner. I would be happy to stay again if in the area.

Wonderful people, wonderful place!

Elaine and Dave were wonderful hosts, super accommodating and friendly (we had a games night too!). We had a relaxing 2 night stay here in the winter, the space was cozy, clean, and well-laid out. We stayed in the Lakeview Room and it was lovely to wander out the room directly to an amazing view of the lake every morning. The breakfasts were wicked and Elaine even packed us hot chocolate and muffins for our hike. Would recommend this BnB and stay again!

Serenity and relaxing

Spent three days at this spotless, relaxing home swimming, reading in the beautiful Muskoka room gazing out over the water, eating healthy meals that were a delight to taste and behold. The beds were so comfortable! We were able to shop, take in local theatre, kindly aided by our hosts, and dine nightly next to the steamships. Best getaway of the summer with friends or family. Already planning my next visit.

First class

This is a fabulous B & B! I can only dream of ever owing a house like this - it's in a quiet and peaceful location, very pretty, comfortable, exceptionally clean and on the beautiful Gull Lake. The bedrooms were extremely comfortable and we had full use of the lounge areas and were more than welcome to use the kitchen to make drinks. Elaine and Dave were wonderful hosts, friendly, kind and their breakfasts were delicious. We particularly enjoyed our conversations over breakfast. They also have their canoe and kayak available to guests and we took advantage of this, heading off for a paddle around the lake. I would have no hesitation in recommending Robbins' Tuktawayin B & B and would certainly make it my first choice if I visit the area again.

A little piece of heaven!

When my aunt came from BC to visit with family & celebrate her birthday in Gravenhurst I wasn't missing it for the world. We found Tukawayin on the Internet and the pictures were so appealing I knew that's where I wanted us to stay. Dave & Elaine's home was spectacular from the moment we pulled in the driveway. They, as well as their home, are warm & inviting as soon as you walk in. The living room has a beautiful stone fireplace for those cooler nights & the 4 seasons room has a beautiful view overlooking the lake. The rooms are lovingly appointed and comfortable with all the amenities of a luxury hotel. The best part was both Elaine & Dave's culinary skills make the breakfast alone worth the stay and for an exceptionally reasonable price. Thanks so much Dave & Elaine for a wonderful stay. I will be back!

This is by far the nicest place we have stayed in many a year. Spotless and clean. Wonderful hosts in Elaine and Dave

We were in Gravenhurst for a 82nd birthday and the four people shared two bedrooms with access to the open fore mat of the house. This BnB home is on Gull Lake, a beauty to behold with regatta skull races going on before our eyes. The large leather chairs and couch were so comfortable none of us wanted to leave and visit friends. It was an easy find with views inside and out more than just a quick drop by. Could stay many more days. The two breakfasts were again out of the world and tasty. More than ample and all made fresh from scratch with herbs, fruits, and local produce. Nothing frozen. Elaine and Dave, you are great chefs. The queen bed was to firm for me but my husband slept like a log. The single beds were just fine for our two other friends. We want to thank you again for a truly wonderful experience.

A Place to Return

Such a lovely home immaculately clean, beautiful gardens and location. The hosts Eliane and Dave were wonderful and inviting. We thoroughly enjoyed the bed, which is important to us, we had a great sleep, excellent! The breakfast was not only delicious it was healthy and very satisfying, and they were so accommodating to our specific dietary needs. Situated on Gull Lake we swam in the evening and enjoyed a swim in the morning. When we arrived we were given a tour of the home and told to help ourselves to anything. Made a tea and curled up in the beautiful and cosy lakeside sitting room. The only problem was that we booked for 1 night, would have loved to stay longer, but they were fully booked.

Exceptional !

My granddaughter and ai had a wonderful stay at Tucktawayin, a beautiful location on Gull Lake in town. Dave is an amazing host! He stopped what he was doing to put the canoe into the water, then stayed to give canoeing instructions. Dave cooked the breakfasts which were great, served very attractively. His wife was away on a trip. He took time to orient us to the area and made suggestions. Never had a better host! He even helped look for lost keys. Thanks so much for everything!

Curling Bonspiel bed and breakfast paradise

We spent 3 nights at this paradise while we attended a curling bonspiel. The breakfasts were gourmet, delicious and healthy. The rooms were luxurious with beautiful views. The waterfront was stunning and the Robbins are gracious and friendly hosts. We had lots of room to play cards and watch tv (no time for that tho). We booked our rooms for next year before we reluctantly left for home.
