Amazing Food!!!

Hidden Gem
This is a hidden gem in Orangeville, right off the Main Street. Pasta made from scratch and a variety of amazing Italian dishes ! You have to try this place !
Great food and a really pleasant spot!
What a pleasant spot! We were with friends after seeing " Sh-Boom Sh-Boom " in Drayton, ON and wanted an early dinner. Calling from the car we were able to reserve a table. The reviews looked good, but the food and service were even better! We will return...
Wonderful Experience
We stopped into here on our way back from Toronto for dinner after seeing a matinee show in Toronto. We were a little Leary when we pulled up. It is in the end of a small strip mall, and was not busy….. Don't read a book by it's cover! Tastefully decorated and very clean! We were seated immediately, and chatted with on of the staff, who may have been the owner, but I didn't ask. He asked about our day, and how we ended in the restaurant. Ordered a couple of glasses of house wine, one red and one white. Both were excellent! I had the fried calamari with a wonderful aioli dip, while my wife opted for a garden salad. Calamari was the best I have had in a long time. Crispy coating wand tender inside. Delicious! For mains, I opted for the braised short ribs, and my wife had the gnocchi! Short ribs were served over polenta with roasted tomatoes, peppers, mushroom, and carrots. Very nice! The gnocchi came with sun dried tomatoes, kalamata olives, served covered by a lovely white sauce. Gnocchi were so tender, and were made in house that day. Definitely check out this spot!
Birthday dinner
My brother and I took our mother here for her birthday dinner. We started off with bruschetta and garlic bread, both of which were excellent. We each had a different pasta dish and all were fresh, hot and delicious. Unfortunately we were all too full to sample dessert. Maybe next time as this won't be our last visit as the food was excellent, service was great and the food was reasonable.
Great Food!
We have followed one of the owners (Al) to Orangeville and are very happy that he took over this restaurant. The food is delicious and the service was great.
Dinner
Stopped in to try something different in town. The place is clean and nicely decorated. Waiter was attentive and friendly. The kitchen is visible to customers. The food was tasty and reasonable priced Looks like they also do take out orders for many people coming in to pick up orders.
Early dinner 3R'S club review
The 3R'S Club returned to Orangeville to discover an unknown restaurant to all of us (Trattoria Semplice, 20 dawson rd, Orangeville). We would describe the venue as a very comfortable, simple restaurant. The room is large and bright with lots of large windows. We ordered 7 different meals that all performed extremely well. All the pasta dishes (4 of them) were all done al dente which is the ideal consistency for pasta. The grilled trout with risotto, the calamari appetizer dish and the cannelloni were all " a point ". We also ordered 2 plates of bruschetta for the table. Don't miss this appetizer done with cold herbed chopped tomatoes sitting on crunchy garlic toasted warn french stick. HMMMM. They also shine with possibly one of the best latte in Orangeville. So there it is. It is mainly Italian food and the owner, Al, actually served our table with his friendly humor and his knowledge of the restaurant business in our area. It was a worthwhile experience. Many members of the club suggested that this could become their " go to " meeting place.
1st time at this restaurant, generally pleased
Went here with another couple that had been a few times before. The overall 1st impression is clean and neat. Service was friendly and quick. We were talking and catching up so our server came back 3 times to check if we were ready to order. Appetizers were delicious, calamari cooked perfectly not turned into rubber bands. In house made pasta. My linguini was a bit too el dente but otherwise my seafood linguini was delicious. Other meals were also good but there were comments about overcooked chicken. Had coffee and dessert which were also fine. Food was good, service excellent and overall ambiance good.
Nothing spectacular
No ambiance No water Food ok.. not hot (don't think they heat there plates) Had to ask for things Server sitting on a table and leaning on the food counter. Very poor class!
Rude
Rude staff Made a reservation for what? To be treated like garbage? And then left to sit and not be greeted while older couples around me are sat and having water poured? This place is as bad as Luma on King street. Learn to treat ALL your customers with respect. Too bad as I'd have liked to try the food and the wine.
Great Food
Have frequented Trattorias on a number of occasions. Always good food. Al is wonderful!! Home made ravioli was great!!! And yes, I said home made!! I would recommend to anyone!!! Doug.
Greta food in a nicely decorated eatery!
We have known, " Al " the owner, for many years while he worked at another dining establishment in Brampton, and we had heard that he had opened up his own restaurant. We paid him a visit at Trattoria Semplice and enjoyed our reunion with him immensely. The food was wonderful and the ambience is delightful. And while Al is still Al, you have to love him for his honesty. Great job, Al.
Just ok
It was just ok A bit on the pricey side and the service was rude Felt very rushed and I don't think the pasta is homemade No decent wine at all but desert was delicious (cheesecake) Prob won't return
Save your money!
Pasta is NOT freshly made ! Service was terrible, felt rush through our meal. Started with appetizers before we were even done we had our main course delivered. Had to ask for water, a wine list and what was on the menu for dessert. Sitting trying to enjoy our coffee and the staff was counting the till and cleaning up around us it was only 8:30pm. When we arrived the place was empty that makes sense now. Lots of great places to eat in Orangeville and this is not one!
Excellent as always
This is a hidden gem in Orangeville. Hot, fresh and homemade pasta. Our go to place for a great meal. It will not disappoint
Okay place
Nice renovation, it's updated nicely. Service was good. Food was okay; my dish with beef was too salty, tough and hard to chew. Our kid's pizza was very salty. Will I go back? Hmmmmmm.... not sure.

Food was most enjoyable, service friendly and to the point. Everything is made to order, so this a place to relax, eat, enjoy, and just take your time!
Excellent first visit
It was a dark and blustery November evening warmed by the ambiance and a hearty cannelloni supper. Service was attentive on this quiet evening. A young family beside me seemed to be really enjoying their homemade Italian dishes. An upscale casual, cozy atmosphere with soft lighting and classy blend of jazz, pop and swing music. They did not scrimp on any part of my meaty, cheesy flavourful cannelloni. Served very hot with additional cheese and freshly ground pepper. Fresh Italian pasta the way it is meant to be and tomato sauce just the way I like it. Yum! Definitely be back to try the full range of their offerings.
Fantastic Italian Food
Friends met us at Trattoria Semplic and seemed surprised the menu was strictly Italian dishes. Hello? Trattoria! If you love Italian food then this is the best place in Orangeville to be. I was so sad when Orange Bistro closed but this new establishment in the former Bistro location is wonderful. Prices have raised some eyebrows but if you love made-from-scratch Italian dishes then you shouldn't miss out on this little gem located off the beaten track.
Excellent Dinner
We found this restaurant on Trip Advisor as we traveled through Orangeville one evening. The minestrone soup was outstanding; it was robust, delicious, and enough for a meal on it's own The pasta were tasty and served hot. The clincher for our return to Trattoria Semplice was the cheesecake with fresh strawberry sauce. Delicate and delectable! Also, our waiter, Al, saved us time and angst by recommending a different route to our next destination. Thanks!
Service
The restaurant is nice - but the waiter did not provide us with a wine menu. We were not offered pepper or water to go with our dinner. For high dining the service should be more refined.
Delicious and enjoyable
The food is delicious: good ingredients, subtle flavours, homemade pastas, at reasonable prices. Went for dinner and had specials (trout, fettuccine with porcini mushrooms), ending with tiramisu and cappuccinos. A wonderful Friday dinner out. We will definitely be back.
Semplice Italiano
We love the decor and the simple menu, just good old fashion Italian food, very tasty. Great outdoor patio and centrally located, we can walk home so bring on the vino :-)
Under new and GREAT management!
We like the refurbishing and open concept of the inside of Trattoria Semplice. Best of all, the pasta was fresh and homemade, the bread was warm and tasty, the wine was great, and our whole party enjoyed our meals tremendously. The chef / owner went out that day for fresh fish and concocted a lovely sauce with it. We had a great conversation with our server (who happens to be a co-owner) and service was terrific. Lots of attention, despite the restaurant becoming busier as the evening went on. We enjoyed everything. We'll be back!
