Fantastic Soft Play
Tick Tock is a fantastic soft play area, it's great for kids of all ages. We were there today and it was packed with parties. My Niece, Nephew and my son had a fantastic time, they didn't want to leave. We ordered a range of meals and they were all first class. They also have the best homemade cakes and biscuits too. It's definitely my son's favourite place to go and the best soft play area. It's also super clean and the whole team are so friendly. 5 star for sure.
Absolutely super soft play
We've visited many times over the years with our 3 children and I realise I've never written a review. The staff at Tick Tock are always warm & welcoming and happy to help. The food is delicious, home cooked and reasonably priced and the play equipment is super, always clean and in great condition. It's a small soft play centre so my children can play and I feel happy that I can sit and relax with a coffee while they play and I can still see / hear them. I definitely recommend it for a visit!
It's ok for the children to have a play
The children always seem to be happy to go and play, but the floors are in desperate need of being swept after people are finished and left a table, the food takes so long to come out! We had finished our panini'a before we got our chips, myself and a friend had scones the other week which were lovely warm and fresh! But still raw on the inside I also changed my daughters nappy at the nappy changing area and it was disgusting! I had to wipe it with baby wipes before putting my daughter on it.
Good for a quick visit - better places not to far away
Attended a birthday party. Play frame is fine and kids enjoyed it, says up to age 10 on brochure which would be about right. Cheap food for a reason. Food and service was beyond terrible! Waited 20mins for a basic cheese burger - when it arrived it was burnt and had the tiniest dollop of cheese in the centre. Others at table who ordered a burger / chips 15-20 mins before us were still waiting and god food after me. Need sun blinds on windows or some kind of film, everyone was complaining about the sun coming in.
Great New Year Party for the Kids
My wife and I had taken our two boys to Tick Tock New Year party and they enjoyed themselves. The indoor play area was extremely enjoyable for the kids. The staff were very friendly and polite. A buffet for the kids were provided. Also a New Years countdown for the kids was done which balloons were provided. Highly recommended place to entertain kids and look forward to taking my boys back again in the near future.
Birthday Party
Great wee place for young children. Be warned not suitable for teenagers on my opinion. Small and tight play area and not build for bigger kids. Our birthday party had a wonderful time so no problems with that HOWEVER the coffee shop was left in the hands of three young teens. Absolute nonsense. Service was really slow and the poor girls were really struggling to look after birthday food, and public's demand for coffee etc. The cakes were very bland. Whoever left three kids in charge of a play barn and busy coffee shop with about 30 kids and same number of parents should be sacked. I dread to think of a child been hurt or any other incident. These young girls were great hence my 4* but be warned Grampian Transport Museum need to support the girls with trained adult supervision
A favourite for our kids
This is our kids favourite softplay. So much so we just had our daughters 5th birthday party this weekend and she had a perfect time there. The staff are always super friendly and accommodating.
Summer hols
Was here during a particularly busy day. The staff were friendly and helpful. And there was a good atmosphere. Kids love going here Food was great too
a wee gem in the most unusual place!
I used to live near Alford and there was never anything much available in this direction. What a find this turned out to be. A local friend recommended it for my three year old and it was super. The food, drinks and service was excellent as was the soft play and the outdoor toys available within the secured garden. Overall, very good.
First time
Good soft play. First time there. Good reasonably priced food. If in the wouldd return. Recommend to anyone
First time at tick tock
First time to tick tock. Very impressed. Lovely food, coffee. Service. Reasonably priced. clean play equipment. Will definately be coming back
Good soft play
Still really enjoy going to this soft play. However we have noticed that it is not as clean as it usually is. Toilet did not have toilet paper-we had to ask and the play equipment had gathered dust and debris. Usually both are spotless. The other slight issues is that myself and my friend somewhat resented paying over the odds for aldi own brand snacks from a multi pack. The mark up was huge. On balance the home cooked food offers excellent value for money and is really tasty. My kids also really enjoy the soft play and it is a friendly environment.
Great fun
Tick Tock is great fun for adults as well as children. The young children can play in a safe area supervised by their parents or grandparents and the adults can join in. As well as the play area, You can have a meal and the prices are very reasonable.
Great for wee folk and brilliant food
I have been twice this week once with my two kids and once with a friend and her young baby. There is a brilliant range of cakes and food and all really reasonably priced. Would like to see cheese scones or other small savouries on the menu. The equipment is clean and well looked after and staff very friendly / helpful. We went when there were parties on and my kids still had a great time it wasn't too busy.
Brilliant soft play, lovely café
We regularly come here with our two children, aged 3 & 5. A nice sized play area catering for different ages, with a café serving items such as sandwiches, cakes, drinks and hot food. It is very clean and well staffed. Good service and very reasonably priced.
Easter party
Great easter party. Lots of homemade easter themed party food for the children, balloons, lucky dip with good age appropriate prizes, Easter egg. Great value for money, kids had a great time and left stuffed! Staff very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend.
Lacks customer care
We arrived at 3.15pm to be told tick tock closing at 4pm as they have staff training. No signs up on door or at main reception desk or anything on their fb page. Told by supervisor still need to pay full price? As we had walked all the way their there was no way we couldn't let kids in so just agreed. Then when asking if there was any soup (to supervisor) was told " staff training at 4pm so no hot food after 3pm in a very rude manner " after working In Catering heating soup isn't exactly a hard task or even heating a panini? To our shock we watched two other families come in after us, one being at 3.30pm and being made to pay full price??? Absolutely bizarre. Customer care is a huge quality that when a business lacks, it can cost them future customers. Glad training was happening!
Good place
Good place to go with the kids our children love to go there and we like the coffee and free car parking
Good facility in a small village
A small soft play area and cafe, very well run with plenty staff, my only concern was the floor tiles throughout was a bit worried about children running round with only socks on might slip and hurt themselves, also great play area but wouldn't want to visit if it was really busy, cafe was very good with plenty choice for children, only reason I didn't rate this place higher was the vending machines a children's play area should not have these, I saw several kids being dragged away from them including my own.
Excellent indoor play area
An excellent place to take the grandkids, host a birthday party and have a fine piece and a cup of tea at the same time!
Great fun! Cafe is good
Good sized play frame for children. Safe, clean and tidy. Cafe serves lovely homebakes and coffees. They also cater for birthday parties.
Great for the kids!
Super playbarn with loads for kids of all ages. Also a cafeteria for snacks / lunch. Good value for money and safe.
Something the ares needs, a friendly family cafe
Not the biggest of soft play areas - more suitable for children of pre-school age with an integrated cafe serving a great selection of cakes and freshly made sandwiches.
Great place to spend a few hours with young children
Visited for the first time today with a 21 month old who enjoyed all 3 areas. Soft play was clean, a good size, with a variety of equipment and I can vouch that the slides are great fun! Not busy, didn't have the manic feel of some soft play centres and a few nice little touches like dressing up, a play kitchen and magazines in the cafe. Café area was pleasant and menu varied although I didn't sample the food. Very good value at £2.50 and we will be back regularly. Baby area could do with a few more items to play on such as a wendy house, tunnel or rocker but still fun for little ones. Staff helpful and friendly.
Fab place to visit with the kids
For Whatever age Tick Tock offers a fun experience. Good food, lots of seating / tables and a good size play areas. There is a section for 0-2year olds which is great to let babies / small toddlers roll about however on a couple of occasions have been disappointed to see older children roughly playing in that area. I wouldn't have my 7months old in that area as she would easily be knocked over / bashed into. However when asked the children have moved but it's not easy for staff to see this area so often don't notice what age of children are there.
Excellent
Excellent as always staff always friendly and helpfull. Great time with kids. Good quality great value food.
Good for Kids
A good place for a day out in Alford. Cafe is quite nice and the staff are really friendly. My cousins absolutely loved the play area and enjoyed the food too.
Overpriced 'cafe
Can't fault the play area or that but the cafe is really overpriced!! The home bakes are really expensive! A shame really...
Kids absolutely love it
There are many soft play businesses within the Aberdeenshire area but my kids always love Tick Tocks. It's never over busy and the kids from 1 up to 8 were kept occupied. They have a selection of drinks, lunch items such as panini's, sandwiches and home bakes as well as coffees / teas / juice.
Kids love it!
Decent sized soft play area which you can keep an eye on the little ones from the tables area, and enjoy your coffee and bacon roll - Dads I highly recommend! We've found its a great place to go at a weekend and let the little ones let off steam. Free parking right outside. Young friendly staff, free wifi, and all reasonably priced.
Brilliant day out
I went with my 4 year old son for the first time on Friday. Took us an hour to get there but well worth the visit! Much less busy than hoodles, smugglers cove etc and felt it was really well run and clean! We spent 3 hours there and the food was great with table service! Very friendly staff and within minute of my son falling someone was at my table with an ice pack, what more needs to be said😀 will make another journey there soon
One for the Kids
Ideal if you have young children, the play area is great and there are plenty of tables to have a nice snack or lunch. Lovely homebakes. Food is very reasonably prices.
Great for kids!
Good soft play facilities for kids.. My 2 kids love it (age 2 and 5!) reasonably priced entry and food.. :) easy to find and good parking facilities.. With Staff friendly too!
Birthday Party
Great place for birthday parties, lovely food and tasty traybakes. My kids absolutely love going here to play, I sometimes can't get them to leave 😊
GREAT PLACE FOR KIDS, AND SUPER CAFE TOO!
Having left the Grampain Transport Museum after a super visit to go to Alford Bistro for our snack lunch, we were disappointed they had no room for us on this occasion. When making our way back to the GTM car park we came on the Tick Tock Play Centre. Unsure we could go in without little people we asked the very pleasant lady on the reception, and were pleased to find it is no problem to use the cafe without having children with you! Although a Saturday, it was relatively quiet, so although we selected the table furthest away from the play area we found no issue with the noise of the happy children playing away. Nobody should expect to go here without being aware there will be children making a noise though - it's a place for kids! We were very impressed with the great selection of food available at the cafe, and the teenage girls and boys serving / working were all very pleasant, helpful and welcoming. My husband had the homemade Leek & Tattie Soup with freshly baked soda bread, and I had a lovely scone with butter & jam. We both had tea to drink. The play area looked great, and the entire place looked lovely and clean and well kept. There are also outside seating tables and chairs, and a lovely Wendy house outside too. I would definitely recommend Tick Tock for children and for adults looking for a bite to eat, even if they haven't got wee ones with them. A great party venue too, and certainly a welcome addition to Alford.
Rainy day visit with our grandchild
Very impressed with tick tock play! Took our grandson and a pal there and they had a great time, so did we, had the homemade soup and sandwiches, I have to say what great value for money! Keep up the good work it really is a great place for children and adults.
Total Gem of a place !
Soft play centres are not among my favourite places I have to be honest. We've been to a fair few and usually have to put up with grubby equipment, awful food and a layout which means you are constantly on alert, keeping an eye on your child (not least because frequently some other parents don't). Tick Tock is different! What a hugely pleasant surprise! The place is immaculate and the staff / owners have very high standards of hygiene throughout the entire establishment - the actual equipment, the toilets, the tables and high chairs and the kitchen. The whole place is very well thought out, even the toilet facilities, where there is a small loo for little people and a clean and welcoming looking baby change area with wipes etc provided. The soft play itself is just right for my 3 year old and he loves the slides. There is also an area for babies and under 2's. The layout of the place means you can relax and have a coffee and your child is completely safe. Which brings me onto the most welcome surprise of all.. the coffee is excellent and the food is superb, especially the home baking! Topped off by a flatscreen tv which is tuned into Radio 2 and free WiFi... it actually IS a relaxing experience for Mums! The staff are also very welcoming and friendly and it is very reasonably priced. Well done Tick Tock!
Great place for young children
This is a great place to take young children, particularly on a wet day. They have loads of fun running about in the plat area, as do the adults with them. There is also a good range of reasonably priced food available for all ages. We go there often with our granddaughter.
Worth a visit
Good indoor play areas are a must for all parents! This was our first visit here and we were not disappointed! Not very busy despite awful weather, maybe we were just lucky? Very clean! Very helpful and friendly staff!! Reasonably priced entry and food! Despite being a teeny bit late staff allowed us bacon roll (breakfast stops 11am on weekdays) and the cheese scones were fab!!!!
Great
Kids love it. It can get very warm on a sunny day but the home bakes, good coffee and Fred wifi certainly make up for it!
Great for kids and adults
This is the second time I've come here with my 5 year old and baby. It's my new favorite as it's a good size for the kids to play, yet it never seems really packed, unlike Hoodles in Oldmeldrum (which has better facilities but always packed and often hard to get seats). Tick Tock Play is not just a great place for the kids to play, but it's a really nice café too. I had hot chocolate with marshmallows and cream, which was the best I've ever had, and fruit scones which where really tasty. There's plenty of tables and plenty of high chairs. They serve kids food, which is around £3.50 for a sandwich, drink and 3 other items. My daughter had a tuna sandwich, orange juice, an apple, a frube and a block of cheese but they also do chrisps, sweets, biscuits. other fruit and a selection of kids drinks. The baby changing areas (2) and the toilets are all really clean and well looked after and the staff are friendly and happy to help. I would choose this over Hoodles if you want a relaxing experience. It also shares the car park with the Transport Museum if you wanted to do two things in one go!
Rainy Day in Alford
Went tubing at the ski centre, and ended up with time to kill. It was a showery day so we took the four grandchildren to Tick Tocks. They had a great time and burnt off loads of energy. Friendly staff. Clean place. Newspapers to read. Good place to take shelter !!!
Lovely
Went here with my grandson last week and have been to a few similar places in Aberdeenshire. This was the best. It was spotless, the staff were lovely and it was a lovely relaxed non manic atmosphere. Perhaps it was just the day of the week... but I would recommend this highly.. as long as it's kept low key... and as clean I would definitely be back.
Great space, clean, nice staff and hot drinks!
We visited Alford from Aberdeen for the day to go to Haughton Park. As the weather turned we noticed Tick Tock Play which I had heard about through their great facebook page. We got a warm welcome and was only £4.00 for unlimited time. It was a sunday mid day and was very quiet which was great. I can imagine it can get a bit hot when really busy as was very warm inside. The equipment and set up was excellent and my 3 year old was able to play in all areas. There is a great little football 'pitch' area at the top which encourages the children to play together. The seating area for eating allows you to be able to almost always keep your eyes on the kids which is great. It was very clean and very appealing. The hot drinks were great and the menu looked really good to. Overall an excellent playbarn and if in Alford would definitely return as my son did not want to leave!!
Great place
On holiday from Mid Wales - needed an alternative to whiskey distillery tours for a very patient 3 yr old. Thank you Tick Tock a Play! Worth every penny - and a fine cup of coffee & plenty of up to date reading material for a frazzled Mum...
Great place for kids
Great place for kids to play and cakes are delicious. Children's parties are well run too and Tick Tock it is kept clean any time I have been. One of the better soft play areas in Aberdeenshire. Plenty of parking available too.
Fantastic play centre, staff, food.
We have visited Tick Tock Play with our Toddler group on various occasions and it's so good we keep going back! Debs and the staff are so helpful and accommodating, we couldn't ask for a better service! Each child, age 0-5, loves the equipment and all leave smiling! The food and cakes are equally amazing! Overall, good prices, great equipment, nice staff, fine food = happy customers! Keep up the good work! :)
Great playcentre, and scones to die for!
We went to Tick Tock while staying at Craigendarroch - the weather was so foul that something indoor needed to be found for our (almost) 3 year old granddaughter. This place is a treat - very pleasant staff, good quality equipment and lovely homebakes. There are colouring pencils and paper if children want to have a break form rushing around and the atmosphere is somehow less obviously commercial than other places we have tried in the past. Entry cost seems very reasonable and the overall experience was one we would be more than happy to repeat in the future. And there is free WiFi!
Kids Exhaused
Great playcentre. Kids had a great time really enjoyed themselves. Flaked out when they got home. Food avaliable.
Very friendly and helpful staff
Clean and welcoming from reception staff to front of house. kids had a great time, and could have played longer, coffee was lovely and menu for food was very tempting. Free wiifi.. will be back
Fantastic play area. Great cafe
Love this. Can sit with a lovely coffee and slice of cake watching the kids play to their heart's content. Really good.
