Incompetent cooks
I ordered a nacho Flatbread. They where out of nachos, and forgot to add the beef. These guys don't have a clue what they are doing. Save your money. Go somewhere else.
Sunday breakfast
DELICIOUS!! Had the eggs Benny and enjoyed every bite! Crispy potato hash browns, yummy holindaise. Will definitely will be back for breaky. Good portions and friendly service.
Worth a visit
Went with large group. Tried to make reservation night before but they didn't return call. The place is very busy. Overall food was good and service.
Will not return even though we live here
Food was horrible, served raw chicken that supposed to be be smoked! Not it wasn't, I smoke my own meats and know. Poor waitress service
Slow service and surprise cover charge
We booked a table for twenty so we could host a wedding rehearsal dinner. We arrived as scheduled and orders were taken when we asked. However, despite knowing we were coming, the kitchen needed over an hour to get our meals to us. The manager blamed it on not being prepared for such a large group! (I guess they don't understand reservations). And then to add insult to injury, the establishment charged us a cover charge for the music. We had to stay for the music because the kitchen was slow in feeding us. At no time did the manager check on us. I would caution anyone planning to visit this establishment that they order early and leave before 7 pm if you don't want to pay an additional cover charge. I was very disappointed. Not likely to return.
Terrible service
We were there on July 4th for a last night dinner with our grandaughters and although they loved the band and the ice cream for desert as they said " The french fries were gross " The chicken wings had a little bit of pink near the bone, the service was terrible, the drinks were warm. My husband had stomach issues the next day which is not ideal when driving home for 6 hours. When we mentioned to the waitress that the french fries were terrible she basically ignored our comments and went about her business. We appreciate the fact that there is a restaurant in the area as we do go there quite a bit in the summer but if this restaurant was in any place bigger that had more choices I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be in business.
Amazing Service even better Vibes
What can I say, way to go! From the food, to the drinks, service to the music this restaurant has everything you need to have a great night out!. Definitely recommend and will return!
My Disappointing Birthday Dinner
The appy scallops were medium to small sized and not worth the $15, the brisket was ok but did not get the side order of gravy, the Caesar salad was very soggy, the ribs everyone had were not well prepared as one would expect of a smokehouse style restaurant, they were terribly tough, so much so that the knife took considerable effort to cut between the ribs, not even close to fall off the bone and way too salty, as was our friend's order of buttermilk chicken. Our 2 person share of the dinner bill with 2 drinks each was $96. Before a tip to our waitress who was doing her best to do her part. The kitchen needs a good Gordon Ramsay shake up! I would not recommend this place unless you can't get enough salt and enjoy a tough as leather chew on ribs that most newbie cooks could do a better more tender preparation. As they say " you can't fix what you don't know is broken ", thus my time spent to write this review.
Salty prime rib
We heard that the Hub had great prime rib on Friday nights. We arrived not knowing that you needed to make a reservation for the prime rib dinner. We were offered the " end cut " which the waitress said was just a little more smokier flavour. We ordered it and we're really disappointed. Not only was the meat " tough " but it was so salty you couldn't eat it. When asked by the waitress how our meal was we told her about how terrible the meat was. She offered to tell the kitchen but we were not offered a discount in any way. At $30.00 a plate, I found this rather disappointing. On the positive side, the Yorkshire was very good unfortunately not good enough for us to return to this restaurant.
One of the best Valentine's evenings ever
Valentine's Day, 2021 the meal started with a very good salad, then we had the choice Crab cake poached prawn with garlic Hollandais sauce or Asparagus, Bacon Brie puff pastry bundel. We had one of each. Then the main course Tuna loin with chimichurri saffron risotto and mixed vegtables or a Smoked beef tenderloin dijon mash, peppercoin demi and mixed vegtables. we had one of each For dessert I had Tiramisu, my other half had spearmit, lavender and rose petal Creme Brulee. All this accompanied by Wines from the local Celista Estate Vineyard.
This place *hearts*.. ohhhhh the food!
This place... ohhhhh the food! Amazing! Wings to die for (and gluten free!), the fries crispy to perfection... they parboil then deep fry and it's magic... simply magic. Great service, live music, cool vibe... I'd go again and again!
Dinner and live music
We went for a cold beverage and dinner after a day on the water. The service was a bit slow a first and there were multiple mix ups with our orders. We would not get the right drinks or too many of a food item. The poutine and nachos were excellent. The brisket was over smoked and was a little bitter tasting. The bitter got sorted out in the end. The band was pretty decent. Worth stopping for.
Casual summer dining, exceeded expectations!
A group of us came here for supper early evening on a Friday. We were very impressed by the efficient system they had, with the ordering window and the delivery of food and drinks. Everything came out very quickly even though it was quite busy. The food was excellent! The fried chicken was tender and delicious, great both in a burger and on it's own. My partner had the brisket sandwich- it was a huge portion and was so smoky and scrumptious. The lady at the till was very friendly and helpful. They had a live music stage that I can imagine would be great entertainment! This great little pub exceeded our expectations and we would be happy to eat here again.
Local hub visit
Second time we have had dinner there in past 2 weeks... first time we had the smoked brisket and it was very tasty... last evening my son and I shared the ribs and they were tough and not cooked thru'. He complained about the ribs Which were taken away and then he ordered the brisket meal as well... no offer of giving a credit so he ended up paying for 2 meals
Best service..... and burgers!
Have always had friendly service while at this local restaurant. Burgers and fries are SO good. Menu is limited, but the dishes I have tried are excellent. Will keep coming back!
Very Yummy for the Celiac traveller
We visited this restaurant twice on our 5 day trip to Magna Bay, we have a daughter with Celiac Disease and heard good things about this restaurant and it did not disappoint. Our favourite was the Buttermilk chicken and the french fries! Good service and very friendly staff! Only drawback was the cleanliness of the bathrooms
Dinner and Music
The Hub has the best Beef Dip I have ever eaten!! The smoked Brisket twist sets this into a league of its own. My had the burger (The Hub) and also was fantastic. The live music was awesome. The band was talented and the volume was perfect for dancing or dining. The Hub is Great!!
Amazing♥
Nothing like anywhere near!! Worth a drive.... for sure. The smoked meat is delicious... even on a salad. Try the pigs ears.... yummy. My favorite is the Friday night " Prime Rib ". During the winter! Entertainment in the summer season is fantastic...combined with their food..... a incredible experience! Come Foodies! Cheers!
Good food, community atmosphere
While the menu was limited to burger fare, the portions were generous and the salad was fresh. They had live entertainment that day--A guitarist that was pretty good, and later turned out to have been part of a large table of people who were camping locally. He felt like playing his guitar, and they let him!
Dinner
Had the rib dinner. Great Smokey BBQ flavour and excellent fries. Had the leave before the music started but will be back soon!
Good place for us as we were allowed to sit on the deck with our Dogs
Good wholesome cooking, but the choice is a bit lean if you are not a healthy eater. Too much mexican on offer but others seem to like than not my choice of food. There are some special thing such as Prime Rib roasts, but served in thick slices. Overall we had a good meal with our choices
Lovely ice cream just outside the provincial park
A trail from inside Shuswap Provincial Park leads to the park gates. Just across the street from the park gates is this ice cream shop. They offer over a dozen delicious ice cream served in bowls or a variety of cones. The service is friendly and efficient with much more variety and better prices than the park store. A variety of cold drinks are also available. Also possible to rent two and four person bicycles here.
Great Place
Was staying in Adam's Lake and went here for dinner. Between the 5 of us we had Stuffed Meatballs, Wings, Poutine, Brisket Beef Dip, a Beef Burger with the works and the Beet Burger. Was looking forward to the Fried Pickles but they were out. Everything was delicious, although the brisket was a little tough. Plenty of fries accompanied the dishes. We were stuffed when done, but managed to cram a single scoop from the Ice Cream store before heading back. Will definitely go back.
Music Trivia Fun and great food!
We had so much fun playing Music Trivia here. We ordered a variety of food that was very good. We had the Pig's Ears, the Brisket Beef Dip which we recommend as " loaded " so it can come with melted cheese, sauteed peppers, mushrooms and onions. We also ordered the deep fried pickle medallions. Service was excellent and so was the food.
Great for Campers!
Great place to grab food if you are staying at the Shuswap Lake Provincial Park. There is also an ice cream parlour & laundromat next door. Sells bags of ice for $3.
Great beer, food and service
So handy to the park. Ice cream in the afternoon, a beer and poutine rounds out the day! Word is that we need to go back for the nachos.
Mountain of nachos
The service was awesome and friendly The pile of nachos was high The ice cream bar next door also gave you large cone portions
Servers are lovely but food takes forever and not that good
I really want this place to do well but I keep leaving really disappointed. Food is often overcooked and takes forever. Ordered the Carpaccio which I should have known was a bad idea. Took over an hour to get it (this if raw fish folks, no cooking required) and the only other food ordered was a side of fries at our table. I'm assuming it's because they had to thaw the fish and it was very bland when it finally arrived.
The Hub feels like exactly that
It was a bit of an awkward meal for me. The Hub feels like a community meeting place as much as a pub or something else. I suppose that's it's main purpose, as it's fairly out of the way. The atmosphere was very much that of a multipurpose meeting place. Service was fine, there was a fairly long wait for food, but I feel like that was on the kitchen, not the server. Had a brisket sandwich. Good, but super salty (and I like salt). Both the fries and the sandwich.
In Shuswap Style!! AWESOME!!
A truly unique FOODIE hangout! They have got it going on.... and you will want to be a part of it. If I lived closer... this would be a regular daily hang out. So if you are local..... get on it! Cheers job well done!
good lunch
Took our neighbour out to the Hub today. We had been many times before this past year since they opened, but he had only been to their ice cream parlour in the summer. He enjoyed his lunch as did we.. So glad they got onto Trip Advisor then I can commend them on their restaurant and let others know we have a good restaurant. Another cool thing about the Hub is all the older pics of local history on the walls.
Hidden Gem
From service to ambience, entertainment and delicious food, this place has it all!! It's great for families as well as a fun hang out for a few beers with friends.
Nice Surprise
Well who knew there was this little gem across the bay from us. Four of us vsited a Friday night for Prime Rib, $30. The meal was very good. They don't skimp on the beef. Only disappointment for me & another companion was the coating of horseradish cooked on the roast. We did not enjoy it. Bc of that would not order it again. I really came for the Yorkshire pudding anyways. Next visit, we will make sure there is live music. Reservations needed.
Best in town
Great setting, good food, wonderful and friendly staff what more does one require. All this close to the Shuswap provincial park. Night time entertainment and social gatherings.
Love it!
We went on Friday night and it was excellent!! Friday's are their Prime Rib nights, it is sooooooooooooo good. Reserve your table before you go to make sure you get your seat.
Perfection in every way
The title says it all. Excellent food service and entertainment. The title says it all The title says it all The title says it all 100 characters yet?
Gem in Scotch Creek!
Great food, fun atmosphere, amazing friendly staff and they have fun things planned every week! Comedians, open mic, karaoke, 80's party, dinner theatre and much more!! A definite must do place!
A Must for a Night Out
Although new it has quickly become the place to go. Owned by locals for locals. A simple high quality menu with nightly specials. Our group of six was impressed by the lettuce wraps, great burgers and fish & chips. We were served by one of the owners and it shows they care. Not pretentious, just good food.
Fantastic food!
My girlfriend and I popped in for a quick bite to eat after a hike, we ordered the nachos and battered pickles. The nachos was a HUGE portion, we both struggled to finish it, there was cheese all the way way through and the salsa was brilliant. Service was good and we will definitely be back if we're in the area again
Sports bar and pub food
Great place for local beers and entertainment. Menu is limited, but burgers, meatballs and salads were great. Wait staff and service was great.
Great Atmosphere for a Night out at the Shuswap. Delicious Food and try the nachos and pigs ears
Great atmosphere, excellent service and delicious food. Menus is limited but has something for everyone. We tried the nachos and pigs ears and enjoyed them so much. My husband had a their famous hamburger, he said it was delicious. They have karaoke on Saturday nights and this is a great place to meet with friends and enjoy an evening out at the Shuswap. For the desert lovers there is an ice cream shop next door, which carries many flavours. Their gift shop has many unique items from local artisans in the area. This restaurant is a real gem on the Shuswap, definitely a highlight of the weekend.
