Beautiful furniture! Customer Service Not so much!
The furniture was beautiful!Expensive Yes! Customer service not good. We walked the whole place. They never asked if we had any questions or could They help us. The furniture was attractively arranged. They have a 4 year apprentice for students. It's in a old Mill which needs paint! Road outback bad!
Beautiful, but expensive furniture
If you have a taste and the wallet for the finer things in life, such as exquisite furniture and lighting and other home decorations, then this is the store for you. The level of craftsmanship found at this store is truly amazing. I've never really drooled over a dining room table set before, but you will here. I just wish the inventory was more in my budget range.
Beautiful Handmade Furniture
I have been a customer for 25 years. The showroom is nice with good examples of their high quality product. Mr Shackleton is a real gentleman.
Furniture and pottery that speaks... but no humans around
Had to be self-guided as no one even acknowledged my presence. Amazing works of art. Not sure that the expense of running an open show room and educational center would make a difference -- perhaps the bespoke furniture makers should get together and have a single educational center with examples of their work for comparison and contrast.
Amazing but very expensive furniture
Even if its all far beyond your pocket, every piece of furniture is a work of art, and totally handmade. There is also beautiful pottery, and this won't catch your Visa card on fire. We've gone back several times, and while the furniture is over the top, we have bought pottery. We have hung one of rabbit design plates on the wall. Its worth adding that because there are other interesting shops in the building, the whole circus is worth seeing, particularly if the weather isn't behaving.
Beautiful items
Gorgeous pieces of handmade furniture and dishes, but much too expensive for me! Very interesting to watch local craftsmen work on their projects.
Beautiful but WAY overpriced
The pottery and furniture was very nice, but super, super expensive. I can't imagine anyone paying over $200 for a tray or over $50 for a cup... That's nuts! It's amazing artwork, but maybe it should just be a museum, not a store.
Worth a stop to see some of the best work in Vermont
Just west of Woodstock on Route 4 you can find the best of handmade Vermont artistry. Well designed furniture, pottery, and tableware in a beautiful showroom and factory. These pieces can become family heirlooms. Friendly, knowledgeable staff in a relaxed setting. We bought a vase and took advantage of free shipping.
Incredibly Beautiful Furniture
Owner is delightful and took us about to share his knowledge, you must stop in to see these works of art.
Very nice if you like this sort of thing
My wife and I stopped in here while staying in Woodstock recently. We like Arts & Crafts style and have a number of Stickley pieces so this looked like a good place to stop in. The showroom is small but they have a good sample of their work there. Their furniture is high quality and lovely. Their pottery is also very nice. We especially liked their made-to-order, custom commemorative plates and bowls. They would make very nice gifts. You can walk upstairs and see their furniture makers in action too. The furniture is pricey, but what do you expect for hand made, American craft of this quality. Very nice things.
