Much more than you can find on Instagram
Normally when you are contacting a tourist guide, they are happy to work for you. With Martina it is different: she wants to give more than the typical Instagram shots with blue roofs and white buildings. We found the " access " to open heart and give us a great tour: we only said: we are first time visitors and she should decide what we should see. Her compilation was perfect: we did not only see Santorini from the tourists' side but also from the side of the ordinary people living and working there. So we saw places like Emporeio which is off the beaten path for tourists. And some more of those places like a hidden chapel. We were the first off the ship and we made it hard to the last cable car taking us back to the tender pier. And for prices which are lower than other wants for 1 / 2 day tour. But as said: you must find the access and you want to see more than the Instagram places. We leave her the schedule so we saw all attractions as tourist hot spot Oia before all other tourists from our ship arrived and could go to places far away to see Santorini from the peak.
Explore the Real Santorini
It's easy to enjoy the white and blue buildings of Santorini on your own--and to shop and to interact with tourists from many countries. But, if you want to zero in on what's important and real, you will need a guide who understands and loves this beautiful island--and that is Martina! Her enthusiasm, warmth, and knowledge will cause you to love Santorini, too. We recently spent a full day with Martina and her driver, starting at the highest point of the island for the views. As a bonus, we met a monk and nuns at the monastery there. We followed narrow walkways through the traditional cave-style village of Emporio to see how Santorini looked before tourism. We visited the red sand beach, and had a delicious traditional lunch beside the sea. We learned about growing grapes and making wine--and managed to sample a few! The highlight of the day was the walk on a path through spring wildflowers to her hidden small church--such a different environment from the commercial part of the island. Martina has explored it all, and she knows everyone! If you stay a few days after your tour, you will run into her everywhere. You will have a friend on the island!

Martina makes it the best day of our getaway
We had the most enjoyable day with Martina, a day filled with fun, adventure and laughter. From the start we knew we were in for a great adventure, from the top at the monastery through the small villages to lunch by the seaside Martina filled us with the wonder of the history of this island. We visited two of the most beautiful wineries, the hidden church, and finished with a very enjoyable dinner at a place where the locals eat. We would highly reccomend spending a day (or two) with Martina on Santorini

C'est la photo à ne surtout pas rater à Oia! C'est tout simplement magnifique. Je conseille d'y aller plutôt avant midi afin d'avoir le soleil dans le dos plutôt qu'en face en fin d'après midi.
Santorini day trip
Our family is on a cruise and we were looking for a way to see Santorini besides the limited cattle call offered by the cruise ship. I found Martina Somers on guideadvisor.com and we are so happy we did. We had a wonderful day with Martina and a driver she she arranged, Anthoney. Martina was enthusiastic and knowledgeable about life in Santorini. We had time to do some shopping, visit a monestary, the ancient town of Emporia, and some great beach time. It was the best day of our trip! Our girls enjoyed talking to Martina and Anthoney and learning about Santorini. We can't speak highly enough of Martina. It was a pleasure to spend the day with her. Skip the ship excursion and hire Martina. You won't regret.

A beautiful sight to behold, high rise mountainous island with white linear tops, Santorini from a distance, approaching it from across the blue water of the Mediterranean Sea, was one of my dream places to visit. Our time was limited but we saw the heart of Santorini. We arranged our day tour with Martina Sommers. Martina speaks very good english and so is the car-driver Costa. Martina is very knowledgeable and passionate in showing Santorini to us. We met Martina up in the village but please be aware if you are visiting Santorini via a cruise the first time, you will need to go up literally to the village using a cable car or walk the long steps or on a donkey. Expect a very long queue to the cable car service. We first visited the famous street of Oia with a gorgeous view of the deep-blue sea and with white structures, some of it with blue caps, clattered on the slope. It is a very busy street but you can cool down in the lovely orthodox church which is not far from the main street. Due to the crowd, we really could not enjoy literally what the street could actually offer. So jam-packed. But with Martina and Costa, they took us to Emporio, a different village, which is very quiet and the drive to Emporio was so nice. We ate lunch first before we actually went in to Emporio and the restaurant served very good food and I must say I have eaten there the best Greek salad. You won't miss this as Martina will definitely bring you there. Walking through Emporio will bring you to the past of Santorini. You will see there how and what Santorini was before it became a tourist attraction. Lovely stories from Martina about this village and If you are interested in how people lived before don't miss out this village. After this, we went to see the red and the white beaches by a taxi boat. We didn't have much time, so we were not able to enjoy the beach and swim, but worth ending the tour this way as you will see the lovely rocky landscape of the island, feel the healthy salty air on your skin and see the people, local and tourist alike, enjoying every minute of their time there, like we did. We almost couldn't make our tender back to the cruise, but luckily Martina and Costa were able to give us VIP treatment via the cable car and Martina even came with us down and waved goodbye from the harbor! I definitely recommend Martina's tour. She will adjust the tour itself according to your specification and desires. See you again Santorini, one day.
Stopped here while on Cruise
Did a tour of Oia, the winery and then to Thira. What a lovely island, Great because not many tourists when we went. Stunning views from every angle. Friendly people and great food. Very colourful villages lovely churches you can visit. The ship organised the tour by coach and then dropped us off at Thira and got the cable car down, You can even walk (if fit) or a donkey but felt sorry for them.
A Unique View On Santorini
I was lucky to have had a private day tour to Thirassia (just off Santorini) with Martina. She brought the area's history to life while we explored the natural beauty of this quiet island. A superb meal, on the beach and provided by a local restaurant owner, was included and topped off a perfect day as we waited for the sunset ferry to return us to Oia. (I think it is also possible to go via a private chartered boat, as well). Her tours are limited to 4 people max so you get a very personalized experience. I highly recommend her services!
