Don't even think of going
The worst meal I have ever had. Started with stale bread. Bottle of white wine was served warm. Server made no attempt to replace. She was so overworked the table side salad was no even mixed. Steak was served cold and overdone. When skillet was replaced it wassso sizzling it burned me and my wife. All sides were cold as ice. Don't be fooled by prices. You get what you pay for. An awful experience.
Always a great dinner and service at a great price!!!
We have been here many many times and we are never disappointed. The atmosphere is of an old steakhouse, darker walls, booths along the wall - very inviting. We were seated promptly at our reservation time. Our server STEFANIE was great. She was there just when you needed her. Dinner as always was the best prime rib we have had anywhere and what a reasonable price. We had the Southpoint Cut (our usual) and a side of the mushrooms (great taste). The meal comes with soup or salad and choice of potato. I always have the spinach salad (included) -- I could have it for dinner -- the dressing is delicious. I always highly recommend this venue. We will be going again.
Simply delicious!
Simply delicious! The food, the service, the atmosphere was everything we expected. Best prime rib I have had in a long time. Perfect!
Bad service and mediocre food…
Extremely disappointing! Party of six: Terrible service provided by Elena and pretty much ignored even though the restaurant was not busy. The prime rib although tender and steak dinner, was not hot. Not even warm. For an 'upscale' restaurant typically the plates are so hot, the server warns you not to touch the plate. In this case, the plates were cool to the touch. She mixed up and forgot some of our order, and also basic requests ie baked potatoes toppings on the side, so it came loaded. When bringing this to her attention, she blamed the mistake on us, not her. We found the food lacking in flavour and the assorted vegetables tasted bland as if steamed. This restaurant was a huge letdown. Save your money. If you want service like Elena's, go to a fast food restaurant.
If you haven't tried this - you MUST go!!
Probably the 5th or 6th time we have been here. There are many reasons we come here. Our reservation was honored promptly. We had the South Cut prime rib which as always was a great piece of prime rib. Dinner comes with bread, soup or salad (spinach salad is included -- dressing is delicious!!), and choice of potato. Amazing how much less expensive drinks are. $9 for a cosmo which on the strip is $20-$23? We had 3 drinks total (call) and dinner -- total bill $84 !!! Service is always just right on time -- never rushed. Atmosphere is very " steak housy " Level of conversation is just right -- not too loud and tables and booths are private enough so you can have a nice conversation. Staff is always courteous. If you haven't been -- you need to go!!
Great Find
Went to this place on the recommdation, from nice people we met at the Peppermill.. What a nice find.. Great food, service and price.
Great food at a great price!
This is a must stop while in Vegas for excellent food and atmosphere. My wife and I dined here on Mother's Day, and they had a great special that night with a four-course dinner that included a bottle of wine for $50 person and the food was fabulous! We go here every time in Vegas and never have been disappointed and neither will you.
Always great!!
We have been here at least 6 times already. Whenever we are in the mood for prime rib - this is the only place that we come. We were seated promptly for our reservation. I like the ambiance here -- like an old time steak house. Tables and booths are nicely spaced so you aren't on top of each other. We always have the Southpoint cut of prime rib. You have a choice of salad (which includes spinach salad) mixed at tableside and the spinach salad dressing is delicious. Prime rib is always done just as requested. You also have a choice of potato or vegetable. They have a great selection of specialty drinks. There is also a full menu of appetizers, steaks etc -- but if you go -- go for the prime rib. Our server Stephanie and Robert were perfect. They were there right when you needed them. Price always amazes us. Of course you are off of the strip - but still - specialty cocktails are $9.. strip -- $20 plus. Total meal for 2 including drinks is usually just a bit over $100 including tip. GO if you want prime rib.
Only the steaks are good
The steak was very good and the price of the whole dinner was very affordable. However the sides and cocktails were very much below average.
Last night
On our last night in Las Vegas we made reservations at this popular restaurant. We once again ordered the spinach salad and 10 ounce prime ribs that we so enjoyed on our previous visit (s). The good news is prices remain reasonable, the food quality very good and the service attentive.
Wonderful experience
We went here for dinner for my husband's birthday dinner. It was better than the reviews! The food quality and service was above what we expected. Come off the strip And try a wonderful dining experience! The prices were so reasonable too. The $20 house bottle of wine was great! Give it a try
GOING BACK VERY SOON
How did we miss this great restaurant ? Cauliflower soup was wonderful along with the spinach salad. The prime rib end cut was so good and huge. Service was perfect and with all this the prices were really good.
Unbelievable prime rib sooo good
My wife and I both had the 10 oz. Prime rib. It came with salad or soup, huge baked potato and bread. The prime rib was so soft it was probably the best we ever had. Service was impeccable, very attentive. If you don't want to wait make a reservation.
Great Prime Rib
This was a repeat visit for us, having been here about 2 years ago. And dinner was just as delicious the second time as it had been the first time. The prime rib was outstanding. I shared the surf and turf with my daughter. There was a $10 split fee. The crab cake was delicious as was the steak. And do save room for dessert. Prices are reasonable for this type of restaurant. And although the casino itself smells heavily of smoke, the air filtration system in the restaurant is terrific with no smoke odor.
Above and beyond
Way beyond expectations! Last minute decision to have dinner at hotel after drive back from Reno to catch a plane home. I was craving oysters and mentioned this to our server Stefani. She said No Problem and ordered them for me from the oyster bar downstairs for my appetizer. Prime rib was perfect! Spinach salad with warm bacon dressing very yummy. I find it odd to rave about a baked potato but OMG, what a delight, hot, creamy, and loaded with butter. Stefani was wonderful, hang on to her!
Food and service was great and the manager was totally unprofessional
The food was very good as was the service. However when we brought to the manager's attention that they have online postings that were $2 and $4 less per entree than their menu prices, she went to her office, printed off their current price list, waved it in front of us without handing it to us to see, and said the price was as our menu stated. She didn't offer any drink or dessert discounts to compensate. Our bill was about $150. She was totally unprofessional. Having been in business for myself for 25 years, I can absolutely state that none of my customers were ever treated like that. I suggest that anyone going there print off their lower prices online and present it to the manager.
A great anniversary dinner
Went on July 19 2023 with my wife we were celebrating our 41st wedding anniversary. When we arrived we were greetsd by the hostess and was congratulated on our anniversary. We were seated right away and our server greeted us and congratulated us also. We felt this was very nice. Our dinner was superb. I had the prime rib and my wife had the chicken. Both were amazing and the service was great through out the meal. This is one of the best restaurants in Las Vegas in my opinion. I will recommend this restaurant to anyone coming to Vegas!
excellent prime rib
The experience was excellent and everything I anticipated. If you like prime rib, this is the place!!!!
Best Primer rib
We were looking for Great Prime Rib and we found it. This was delicious and amazing the staff were attentive and wonderful. If your looking for a great prime rib this is the place. 10 out of 10
Old School Prime Rib Restaurant
My husband and I went here for dinner. The atmosphere is that of an older steak house. Everything was great, food, service, and price. Unlike many steak restaurants this one actually came with a salad and side included. We will definitely return when in the area again.
BEST PRIME RIB in a long, long time!!
I was actually S-H-O-C-K-E-D how good the Prime Rib was>>> It's been that long since I've actually had good Prime Rib.... Just think of a less-flowery Lawry's minus the high cost.... Had the ENGLISH CUT (medium rare) and it was perfection.... Delicious, perfectly-cooked and melted away in your mouth! Salad was just the way I like it with lots of dresing, and savory mashed potatoes!! All in all, no way there is a better Prime Rib value anywhere in this great country! I'LL BE BACK SOON!!
Hidden Gem
This was my first experience with this restaurant. Located inside the Southpoint Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas I was not expecting a " memorable " experience but was pleasantly surprised. First off the Service was excellent. Our Server was Stephanie assisted be Ravyen. Although there was not an empty table in the place, our party of six we served without a hitch. All six orders came out at the same time, served hot. We were asked throughout the meal if we needed anything. The Menu leans towards prime rib but chicken and fish entrees are available. Price is more than fair as the entree price includes salad, potatoes or vegetables, bread. I have frequented the Las Vegas Strip places where a party of six would run 5-6 hundred. We ate and drank, had desert and spent 300 including tip. Not a Michelin class place but good food and service.
Just Prime Rib - as it should be
I know you are not Downtown or On the Strip (South Point is just south of the craziness) but this is the place for prime rib. The South Point cut is the " basic " perfectly cooked prime - with the bake potato (finished at your table). This is the meal you want and that's what Primarily Prime Rib does so very well. Look for it - up the elevator and you will find it - It's worth the effort (not really much effort) and you will enjoy. The other items on the menu are also very enjoyable and worth a try on a return trip. I recommend Primarily P. R.
Worth the drive
We make a special trip when we are in the mood for prime rib. The ambiance is very nice and quiet. Service (we had Charles this time) is excellent but not rushed. Price is unbelievably reasonable and the food is great. We have been here multiple times and will be going there again. It is worth the drive....
Meat not tender
I ordered my prime rib medium, which I've done many times before at other restaurants. It typically is not as tender as medium rare, but it is still really good and tasty. This time, it was tough. The rest of the food was good. Coconut shrimp was great and so was the service. Might try something different next time.
We Get Stuffed Here
We enjoy the prime rib at Primarily Prime Rib. My wife and our friend get the 12 oz. I go with the Cajun cut. The salads, potatoes, and appetizers are also very good. We each got a dessert and passed them around the table so we could sample each of them. And thanks to Robert for his personable service.
Great meal and good price
The atmosphere is very nice. Quiet and nice booth around the outside. We were seated promptly without a reservation. We both had prime rib - the smaller cut which was $23 including soup or salad and potato. Prime rib was excellent. Service is tableside. So there is a cart that comes where they mix your salad and prepare you potato. Overall, we will be going back. Prices are much lower than the strip (drinks $6???). Didnt have desert, but the options looked really good!!!
muy bueno
excelente carne y precio muy accesible comparado con cualquier steak house de las vegas el prime reeb blackened es excelente y no dejes de probar las croquetas de cangrejo..... mis favoritas en las vegas
~~~ Amazing Cowboy Cut With Bone ~~~
I am in Vegas for less two to three weeks for business and pleasure, it is almost two years since the boarder close ! after a long day meeting in Henderson, my associate knew I love Steak and picky and fussy ! four of us end up in Primarily Prime Rib restaurant located in the South Point hotel and casino, not a fancy old style house, but upscale, classic setting, well located away the main casino, not noisy, very relax, menu excellent, lot to choice from, they offer five different size cut of Prime Rib, I choose the 26 oz Cowboy cut (MR) with bone in, Salad and bakes potato included in the meal, staff will tossed the salad on the side tablet, OMGI ! simply stunning, the dinner is PREPONDERANED ! enough for two people, the baked potato size so big like Mango ! my meat is so tender and full of flavour, just melt in my mouth, I told the staff, it is not a 26 oz cut more look like 30 oz, she small and side our chef all way over cut the meat ! I never in my life, can not finished the plat, I've arrived in Prime Rib heaven ! talk about stomach, that was well worth it. looks like every one enjoyed the meal, my schedule so busy, but I will be coming back !
Very Pleasant Visit - Excellent Restaurant
We are a party of 2 Couples who have been in Las Vegas for 4 Days. This evening would be our 'Special Dinner Night', with steak or Prime Rib, followed by a show, as our goal. Many fine choices in Las Vegas, searched online for suggestions. Came across Primarily Prime Rib with very favorable reviews, made reservations for 4:00 when they open. Within the South Point property, we knew access would be easy, parking convenient. We were all extremely pleased with service, ambience, presentation, and great quality of food prepared. 3 of us had Prime Rib, 1 had Salmon. Another pleasantry, all dinners came with soup or salad plus a vegetable. Additional specialty side dishes were available, also well prepared. Again, all the entrees were perfectly prepared to ordered specifications. We may dine at South Point 2-3 times on Vegas trips at other restaurants, Primarily Prime Rib is a Must visit on our next trip, we were so pleased. We didn't feel rushed, and we easily made the show at the Tropicana later that evening.
Great food but
First time visitor and the service and food was excellent. Located second floor of Southpoint Hotel and Casino. I will come back but a strange thing happened. One of our guests had a hair in her food. No biggie just replace it. However, they sent two uniformed security guards to the table which in my opinion brings a massive unnecessary embarrassment to a minor issue.
Prime Rib Heaven
We were looking for a nice steakhouse in a town full of steakhouses. Primarily Prime Rib came up in the search engine. Located in a resort Casino the technically on the strip but away from the bigger names. We were able to get a last minute reservation and began our experience. The service was good if a bit hectic with the restaurant being understaffed like thousands of others. Our server Jana was very good hood however. Knowledgeable about the menu and while efficient, she was also personable. My partner and I got slightly different versions of a prime rib dinner and it was spectacular. The meat was done to perfection. Side dishes also were very good with a nod to the au gratin potatoes. All in all a great food experience.
Excellent! Def try this
Excellent! Def try this - 1st class food and service without the 1st class cost We made this reservation for our Anniversary and were surprise with complimentary champagne. Delicious food, great service and it too expensive. We tried the other steakhouse in the casino earlier in the week and it was double the cost for the same service, atmosphere and food.
Birthday dinner!
We typically visit the PrimeRib Loft at The Orleans but they have not reopened since Covid19 restrictions were put in place. We chose Primarily Prime as a second choice and it was fantastic! The service was excellent by each staff member and the food was delicious. Great salad, perfect Prime Rib, massive baked potato, and leave room for dessert... Apple Brown Betty! This is be our new first choice!
dinner out
elegant dining experience. Well worth the trip south to find the restaurant. Food prices were friendly and the food was excellent.
Friendly Service and excellent food
I ordered the signature South Point cut of prime rib, which gave me plenty of extra for a delicious sandwich the next day. The bread, soup, salad, and sour cream mashed potatoes were all wonderful. Marian wanted something other than beef, and couldn't decide on the salmon or the chicken. She ordered the Lemon Chicken, which was an excellent choice... tender, moist and flavorful.
HUGE Hunk'o Prime Rib.
Started off with the Mac & Prime appetizer, spinach salad and moved along to the Cowboy Cut Prime Rib (with baked potato).. I'm a big eater and this was enough for me... almost! Save room for the Rice Pudding!!!
Excellent Choice for Dinner at the South Point Hotel
We had the pleasure of eating at the Primarily Prime Rib one evening while we were on a seven day stay at the South Point Hotel, and we're glad we did. The prime rib is the main event, but there's also a full menu of steaks and other types of steak house foods, all of them quite good. Our group of six was extremely satisfied with both the food and the service, and would happily return here for another meal on our next Las Vegas sojourn. We highly recommend that you try it, too.
Nice Place
My girlfriend and I went here looking for a great burger which is actually hard to find. We were very pleasantly surprised, the ambiance is very classy and has a cozy feeling. We did have the Ppr burger and it was excellent and came with a nice helping of fries which were great and best of all brown gravy which was so good on the fries. The service was outstanding and the staff was very attentive to every detail. Okay that was all of the good and great stuff I do have one major complaint. I ask if they would split the burger for us and they said yes but we charge $10 to split which I feel is a stupid price. I don't mind paying to have things split but $10, really. So I ask if we could just get an extra plate and we would split it and the answer was but restaurant policy was $10 dollars if we wanted the plate. Didn't even get a sharp knife so we cut it with the butter knife. Maybe picky but it was a bit disappointing. Having said that we will go back it is a nice place and the food is great but they should take into account that not all Americans eat like Americans some of us enjoy smaller amounts of food and I think they punish you for that idea. Management should rethink this policy.
Amazing, classy, outstanding start to finish
First off this is a classic Vegas style restaurant. The hostess was top notch and our server was personally introduced to us and he walked us to our table. He was very attentive from the start and had already been made aware of one of guests gluten sensitivity. The drinks we had were perfectly made from the bar and not watered down. The table side salad prep was perfect and tasted delicious. Not one wilted or brown green leaf. Sauced to perfection as well. Our appetizers were suggested by our waiter to our food preferences. Spot on! Prime rib was cooked to order and I can't speak highly enough of the presentation, sides, and taste. The prices are reasonable and you get MORE than you pay for. Make sure you go out of your way to eat here. It's worth it 👍
Worth the Special Trip
Took my mother for her birthday, very much worth it. Nice atmosphere with an updated / old school feel. It's not a relic, it's well appointed and maintained with a throwback feel. the size makes it more intimate and not noisy. The staff is top notch from our server who gave us personal attention (while also maintaining her other tables) Her assistants who hand tossed our salads at the table, kept the warm bread coming and kept waters full and empty plates out of our way before we knew they needed attention. The kitchen staff who cooked 3 top notch servings for us of 3 different orders (1 with dietary restrictions). Even the bar staff is worthy of praise with recommendations and fine executions, especially for a place know for cuts of meat and not drinks. I just wish I had written their names down to personally praise them and request them in the future. All this was done at a reasonable price. Over all it was well done (except the prime rib which was perfectly medium).
Best prime rib I've ever had!
Best prime rib I've ever had! Customer service and the wait staff were top notch, but I was truly shocked by the quality of the steaks and prime rib. Great value. Take an u we and get off the strip!!
The Best Meal anywhere
You don't go to this place for the ambiance. It's located upstairs in the South Point Hotel Casino. You go there for the food. A beautiful slice of Rare Prime Rib, a Large Baked Potato with Sour Cream and Chives, and a large Spinach Salad, with the best dressing I have ever had, all for just $20.00. You can upgrade for a few bucks to a larger portion of Prime, but that is not really needed. Oh, and I almost forgot the large loaf of bread that just melts in you mouth.
dinner
The Primarily Prime Rib restaurant is an excellent place for prime rib or bone in ribeye. The atmosphere is a very casual place where you can enjoy yourself or with a group of friends. The bar has a TV that has the games on which is nice.
So nice, we did it twice
High quality prime rib at reasonable price. Dip way to salty but they took it back and off the bill and when we return a few days later, it was back to being delish. Servers aim to please, and they succeed. Be aware... not open 7 days a week, so plan accordingly
Wonderful Experience!
This is a hidden gem on the second floor of the South Point hotel and casino. It is a very upscale but casual restaurant. The menu offers more options but they are prime rib experts! There are about 5 options of prime rib. I got the smallest cut and my husband, the largest with bone in. Both were delicious and extremely tender. We also were served a huge baked potato and salad that were prepared at the table. Our waitress and her assistant were both attentive and helpful seeing to our needs. Topping the meal off was a bottle of pinot noir on special that night. This will be our new go-to restaurant when visiting Vegas.
Excellent Prime Rib
We ate here about a year and a half ago and loved it. Upstairs inside South Point Casino. Decided to put it on our must do list this trip. We both decided to do the prime rib and ordered the 10 oz size, which is actually a generous cut and very reasonably priced. I ordered the end cut. Tender and very tasty. I had the Raspberry ice tea - it was surprisingly delicious. Most restaurants serve a very weak flavored version of this type tea. The potato and salad was good. Menu has plenty of other choices besides prime rib. Server was friendly and attentive. Her assistant also took good care of us. Weekend nites are really busy so I recommend a reservation.
Allergy sufferers BEWARE!
Food allergy sufferers beware! The name says prime rib, but the menu offers a vegan / vegetable option for mixed parties. As a result of the vegan menu option, my meat loving family invited us out to dinner hoping there was something for everyone's taste. 4 days later I am still very sick from my dairy allergy. Before you think 'Were they careful? Did they tell Primarily Prime Rib there was an allergy?'.. I told them I had a dairy allergy, I had low expectations and I did not need something fancy, I would eat ANYTHING on the menu without dairy. They disappeared and said there was an allergy protocol (giving me hope). The vegan option seemed the easiest comprise, since there is no dairy in vegan food. I have had this allergy my whole life and know how to navigate it. Still my daughter and I are very sick and frankly I am a bit irritated, if they had not said vegan, we would not have gone to the restaurant and I would not have trusted the canned vegetable bowl we were brought. They gave us gluten free bread, so maybe some allergies are safe to eat there? I am not clear on what had milk / butter, but there must have been a lot, because I had to take 2 days off of work. Someone else at the table had the same meal and does not have food allergies, so leads me to believe it was my allergy and not food poisoning. I hate to write a bad review there were positive moments in the meal but I feel I have to warn others!
A wonderful upscale restaurant for a decent price!
We had a wonderful dinner last night at Primarily Prime Rib at the South Point Hotel. Food was outstanding and service was impeccable. A beautiful place, very elegant. Our waiters Franco and Charles were fabulous and the manager Alain was so friendly and attentive. He gave my husband great directions how to get my wheelchair to the restaurant from the garage and spent time with our group to make us feel welcome. The prime rib was truly amazing and the price is so reasonable for this high quality. Our highest recommendation! Can't wait to return.
Photos added. Excellent dinner
My wife and I dined here for dinner. Each dinner comes with bread basket, soup or salad tossed table side, and choice of a large baked potato or veggies. I had the standard cut of prime rib and it was huge. My wife had a chicken dish that she liked a lot. The service was excellent. The prices are not high for the quality of the food. I will return. I added photos of our visit.
Great dinner, better price
Located at South Point Casino so about 15 minutes from the strip. Although not as fancy as Lawry's, it's my second choice when in Vegas and craving prime rib. The ambiance is very cozy with the cool red velvet chairs. The price will also not hurt your wallet. I ordered the south point cut which was a 10 oz prime rib. It's served with your typical soup or salad and a side. The salad is served table side with almost every choice of dressing. If you are really hungry they even have a 26 oz Cowboy cut. The prime rib is served with two different kinds of horseradish. Service was good and food was delicious and didn't cost a fortune.
Very disappointed
We booked here because my husband loves prime rib. Figured this would be the ONE place to get an awesome prime rib dinner. Umm, not so much. Rib was small, fatty and overcooked. I ordered the ONE pasta dish on the menu and had to return it. How can you mess up pasta - especially when it's the ONLY one on the menu??? However, the bread was warm and the clam chowder was pretty good. Would not waste my time going back here. My husband said the prime rib he got at the buffet was better! Go figure.
What to order? Prime Rib, of course
The prime rib is delicious. The entrée comes with a salad, bread, and baked or mashed potato. Everything was good. Staff were friendly. You can make reservations, and I would recommend doing that. We had about a 45 minute wait at 5:30PM, with no reservation. If you love prime rib, this is the place to go.
Prime Rib is FANTASTIC
Highly recommended. We had the Prime Rib medium rare. Perfectly cooked. Great drinks, great salad, great bread.
Vegas at it's finest
There were 6 of us and we reserved a table in advance even though it was a Thursday night at 7p. We were greeted by warm smiles and seated promptly. Honestly the meal was fantastic! The salad awesome, the prime rib excellent. The whole table thoroughly enjoyed their dinner. The waiters (kirk and brandon) were great. They were on it. It wasn't extremely busy but these guys hustled and made our meal excellent! I don't normally tip over 25% but, these guys worked for it. The meal was very reasonably priced check out the menu and you'll be amazed, check out the restaurant and you'll be impressed. Thanks guys
Father's Day celebration
Made reservation easily thru Open Table Wonderful tender juicy prime rib. Same quality as prime rib served on Garden Buffet downstairs on Seafood prime rib nite on Friday and Saturdays. Served with horseradish, both Cream and grated horseradish in condiment dishes to share. No kids menu so our grandkids ordered chicken mango appetizer. Sharing plate cost 10 extra so kids used bread plates and shared meal with adults. Entrees come with choice of soup and salad. Soup choice was minestrone and split pea Vegetarian option available in pretty fried potato nest Veggie sides extra High chair available Located on second floor of South Point Casino / Hotel by Baja Miguel's
reasonable pricing
My wife and I made OpenTable reservations for our last night in town at this restaurant. We were seated in a large booth and provided menus and ice water. Our lead waiter came by with a basket of warm sourdough bread that was delicious. We both opted for the spinach salad that was tossed tableside, again delicious. Our choice of entree was the 10-ounce South Point cut done medium rare that came with au jus plus a horseradish sauce. Having had the prime rib at the pricier Silverado Steakhouse the prior week, we both felt the Primarily Prime Rib's was more tender and flavorful. Accompanying the entree was a very good salt encrusted baked potato. Menu pricing is more than reasonable considering all of the above are included in the price of the entree.
Prime rib
First, our server Thanh was very gracious and accommodating for my daughter's wheat allergy. He brought her Udi's French rolls. The prime rib was perfect. If you are a fan of prime rib you won't be disappointed. As i sit here post meal, i am ridiculously full and could not even finish the rodeo cut that i ordered. Salad, bread and baked potato were great.
Exactly as Advertisd
We had a hankering for some prime rib and went here on a whim. It's located in the south point hotel which is about 2 miles south of mcCarrin airport on south las vegas blvd. it is NOT within walking distance of the strip. They serve.. Wait.. Wait for it.... prime rib!! About 5 different cuts of it ranging from the house cut of 10 oz (I'd say more like 8oz) for $18.95 to a 26oz cowboy bone in cut for $31.95. There were a few other steak offerings but this is exactly what it says.... a prime rib place. The entree comes with a cup of soup or small salad and choice of potato. Vegetables are an extra charge and served a la carte. The prime rib was tender and juicy, On par. With the Orleans casinos prime rib loft. I can easily recommend this place for casual dining in a cozy environment. Thanks for reading and if you found something useful in here please click helpful below. Godspeed
Great
Great prime rib.. My strip was great also.. I would definately recommend this steak house! Waiter was wonderful.
26oz! Go for it!
Im Rahmen eines Geschäftsessen haben wir uns für das 26OZ Steak entschieden - grossartig. Unbedingt keine Vorspeise oder noch Beilagen dazu essen - ansonsten verlieren Sie den Kampf :) :) Wirklich grossartige Erfahrung!
安くて美味しいプライムリブ
サウスポイントホテルにあるプライムリブのお店です。 夕食時は結構混んでいるので予約がベスト。 一番お安いセットで20ドル以下でボリューム満点。 レンタカーがないと行きづらいですが、ストリップと比べて格安なので是非。
Best thing ever
I had dinner tonight for my 1 year anniversary and we both ate the boot cut with the loaded potatoe and I must say it was was the best thing I've ever had. I will definitely be going back. Service was excellent.
Excellent food, excellent service NOT overpriced!
I have stayed at South Point quite a few times over the last several years but I've never tried the Primarily Prime Rib restaurant before and now I'm sorry I didn't start frequenting this establishment a lot sooner. I don't know when they opened but South Point's website says it's their newest restaurant addition and now I am their newest fan. " They say " reservations are recommended but we arrived about 20 minutes after opening and were immediately escorted to a table, absolutely no waiting. We both wanted the prime rib so that's the only entree I can review first hand. Currently they have 5 different cuts. The South Point cut, English cut and the Cajun style cut, are all 10 oz, the last two are the 16 oz. Rodeo cut and finally the massive 26 oz. Cowboy cut. We both had the 16 oz. version and we both had our primes cooked to medium perfection. You also get your choice of soup or salad and either mashed or a baked potato and bread. If there is any criticism at all, it's that you don't get a vegetable side with this meal; so we ordered and shared a Jalapeno creamed corn side and that was very good. Now for the meat and potatoes of this review, literally! This has to be the very best prime rib I have ever had, the tenderness of this cut was exquisite and the taste was superb and to make the meal even better, if possible. The service was excellent and the staff was very attentive but not over bearing or hovering. We were treated like high rollers, if I were to imagine what high rollers are treated like that is. We also had 3 signature cocktails with our dinner and the final bill came in around $86.00, some may say that's a little pricey for dinner for two but if you just want quantity go to a buffet but if you want quality, you might want to give Primarily Prime Rib a try and I wouldn't exactly call 16 ounces of prime rib small potatoes either!
Great if you're in the mood for prime rib
Primarily Prime is just what the name implies, a restaurant that specializes in prime rib. Why go there for anything else? The restaurant has a nice steak house atmosphere. Salads are tossed table side. each table has a server and an assistant so the tables needs are attended too (glass never gets close to empty). The price includes the entire meal, not ala carte. You're served bread, salad, prime rib and baked or mashed potato all for one reasonable price. Granted you're going to have to go five miles south of Mandalay Bay all the way down to South Point Casino so, maybe this isn't the place to go if you're a tourist without a rental car but, if you can get there, it's a really good meal for far less than the C-note you'll drop as the typical celebrity chef restaurant on the strip.
Excellent prime rib for a great price
This place has a great ambiance with white linen table cloths and table side service for freshly tossed salads. However the low lighting made it difficult for my parents to read the menu. They had to use a pocket flashlight to see what they wanted to order lol. Our waiter Charles was very knowledgable of the menu and the wine offerings. We ordered a red wine blend for $20 a bottle which wasn't bad at all. To start my meal, I ordered a delightfully refreshing spinach salad. It was tossed with a balsamic vinagarette and topped with strawberries & fresh ground black pepper. I ordered the Southpoint cut medium rare, cooked to perfection with just a little fat and slightly browned crust. My husband ordered the Cajun seared prime rib, the sear of which wasn't very prominent but the flavor wasn't bad. Horseradish cream sauce was served on the side to accompany the prime rib. Our meals came with a side of undressed mashed potatoes which was perfect. Gravy would have just interfered with the rich, delicious au jus sauce that smothered the prime rib. After a fabulous meal, we were too stuffed to even think about desert. However our waiter Charles did bring out a little fruit dessert topped with whipped cream for my stepfather the birthday boy. What a nice way to end a pleasant meal.
Love this place!
My guy and I came here because of the great prime rib ratings from Trip Advisor and they did not disappoint! The staff were very courteous and attentive! The entire meal and drinks were delicious. I will definitely be back and have already recommended them to several people who have all had the same great experience as we have.
Reasonably priced nice restaurant
We have been here quite a few times and use it as a fairly priced special occasion restaurant. Their prime rib, as would be expected, is delicious but they also offer other options. The salmon is excellent as well. The service has always been good even on holidays. The atmosphere is good.
Unexpected Pleasure!
We decided to go here because it was one of the few restaurants in the South Point Hotel that didn't have huge line ups!! We were seated in about 5 minutes, great ambiance our server Charles was outstanding along with the young lady (didn't hear her name) who helped. We didn't have to wait long for our food, every course was timed perfectly!! I ordered the 10oz prime rib, it came with bread, salad and a very large baked potato. I LOVE good prime rib and this one was excellent! My husband loved his chicken dish!! You certainly won't come out of there hungry, we had no room for dessert. If I ever get the opportunity to go back to Vegas I hope to return to this restaurant.
Beautifully done Prime Rib
Great meal served by a professional staff. Prime was excellent, cost was very reasonable for a casual night on the town and enjoyable atmosphere. Will do this again...
Great Prime Rib
Love SouthPointe and everything about it. Travel here each year for NFR. When the group is very large, we go to the Buffet (great carving station) good variety can suit everyone. But, Primarily Prime Rib is my favorite!
Well worth a short drive
I was dining alone and wanted prime rib but not willing to pay $70 at a destination restaurant. I looked at this Southpoint Casino website and their menu and decided to give it a try. I had no reservation and was prepared for less than optimal seating or a wait. I was seated right away and in one of their curved booths. The dining area was very nice and decorated very well, kind of an " old Vegas look " to it. Service was prompt and attentive without being " hovering ". The steak was very good. I had a salad and potato as well. Not noisy at all. I would go there again even though it is a short drive off the strip, Parking is free which is very nice.
Delicious Food and Accommodating Service
We needed a restaurant to handle our party of 14 and wanted someplace comfortable and where we could hear each other. PPR was very accommodating and flexible. The food was excellent - not only the prime rib, but the beef medallions, salmon, soups and salads. The spinach salad was delicious. And the wait staff didn't even flinch when we told them we needed separate checks. Thanks for a great evening.
Best Beef Bargain in Vegas
Many time guest here. Excellent ambience (booth recommended). Music soft enough for comfortable conversation. South Point Prime Rib special is a great deal (about $20). Excellent quality, thick slab of beef properly prepared with side salad (or soup), potato, etc. Service has always been exceptional. A little hard to find - near garage, go to casino level and then take elevator (or stairs) up one flight.
Restaurant Week
Nice atmosphere. The " set menus " for Restaurant Week were tasty, but not as good as what you can order from their regular menu.
One of the best prime ribs!
Quiet, romantic dinner for two. The staff is fabulous and if you love beef, this is the place. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his cowboy cut prime rib, said it was one of the best he's had. I on the other hand don't do meat, so I opted for the pasta. It was actually the worst I've ever had, just noodles with tomato juice. No flavor at all. The bread was delicious, the mashed potatoes were amazing, and the salad fresh, but the pasta... No.
Elegant and scrumptious!
Starting with a lovely, quiet room and add in friendly service. Then add a menu filled with delicious choices, and top it off with food excellently prepared, and you have a winning hand. The prices are incredible (meaning, not going to break your bank), and the wait staff is cheerful and quick to participate with a smile. We'll be back.. that's a promise.
Old School Dining with Excellent Service
From the moment you step up to check in with the Hostess everyone is very friendly. Drink cups are always being filled. The food is always very good. I personally love the split pea soup. The Manager even took time to see how everything was and we of course said Excellent. Prices are very reasonable.
Best steak ever
The prime rib was the best I have ever had. The two of us ate with drinks for under 70 $. The cowboy cut was over a inch thick.
Primarily Perfect
I don't eat meat. My companion eats nothing but. He said the prime rib was heaven. I've never seen such a humongous piece of meat. It came with mashed potatoes and a salad. I had the salad with bleu cheese dressing. At first glance, it looks small. Then, you start eating and the bottom never comes. The dressing is not runny or too thick and chunky. The server sprinkled fresh ground pepper on it. The fragrance was fresh and delicate, not overwhelming. I also like to sprinkle fresh lemon juice on my foods and did so. It was awesome. I also had the julienned veggies. It looked like different kinds of squash served steamed and in matchstick pieces. Very fresh, tender but not mushy. Just right. They put a basket of warm bread and butter on the table, which I couldn't stop eating. A great experience.
The Best Prime Rib
My husband and I absolutely love this restaurant. They have the best prime rib hands down. The service is awesome as well. Can't wait to go back again next year.
Relaxed for Vegas
A quiet table was our request. We got that and a great wait staff. Only regret is that I do not feel we tipped enough. My husband had one of the best burgers ever, and the waiter was so accommodating. I had prime rib, potato, soup and dessert. My prime rib was tasty but nearly a third of the cut was waste. I still had a hefty portion. We made early reservations on a Saturday night and beat the crowds. Will return when we are back at the Southpoint Hotel.
Best Prime Rib
We go here every time we get to Vegas... It has amazing Prime Rib, various sizes with all the trimmings. It is the cheapest place I know for Prime Rib. Starts at $19.95. The staff is great! Lots of great wine s to choose from too. We have eaten there a half a dozen times and never gotten a bad piece of meat. Real linens on the tables, too.
All I have to say is
Low quality meat. In a word Disgusting. Why would you ever want to eat select cuts of beef at a restaurant in Las Vegas. Never again will I eat here. Oh wait. I barely touched my food the first time
Christmas Eve dinner at Primarily Prime Rib
For our Christmas eve dinner, we went to Primarily Prime Rib at South Point Hotel - they had a prix fixe menu for $29, which also included an alcoholic beverage. Everyone was happy with their meals and so full by the time dessert came. I'll go back again!
Excellent Prim Rib, Great Service Good Prices
I don;t know what more to say except when I am back at South Point I will definitely eat here. Make a reservation.
Outstanding Prime Rib
Located in the South Point Casino. We went primarily for the prime rib based on trip advisor reviews. My wife ordered the 10 oz and I ordered a large end cut. My wife was very satisfied with her piece and I was ecstatic with my end cut! OMG! It was heavily crusted on the outside and perfect inside. No waste, tender and very flavorable. The sides and appetizers were fine. Service was very professional and prices very moderate. Next time we're in Vegas this is where I'm coming for Prime Rib.
Free Day From Diet
Decided to treat ourselves to a free dinner from out diets here. As always it was a great dining experience. Both had the South Point Cut Prime Rib, with a mash potato special with horseradish, and side of asparagus. Great Service, Great cocktails, Great Food, am definitely coming back here.
Great Choice!
A friend said we needed to checks out this hotel & casino. After reading the menus of all the restaurants in this casino we decided on prime rib. The 10 oz was a generous cut with great flavor. The salad and baked potato were prepared tableside. The cream of chicken soup was amazing! Our waiter Julio was very attentive. We'd eat here again for sure.
Best place for Prime Rib
by far the best place for Prime Rib.. AND you don't need a home equity loan to afford the place... a full prime rib dinner is about $20-$22.
Mixed Bag
The organization and efficiency of the wait staff is problematic. I have eaten here 3 times over a 2 year period and I suggest that you anticipate long waits and staff that do not always listen to your requests. The food varies from excellent to poor. Non-steak items are more likely to be overcooked or lacking in flavor. The chefs rely to heavily on sauces to carry the non-steak entrees.
Good Food Reasonably Priced
I ordered rare prime rib and it was cooked properly. My bone-in cut was a very large portion that tasted quite good. The baked potato was also quite large. The entree also included either a salad or soup. I opted for the spinach salad that was served with candied nuts and cherries. I found the salad to be a little too sweet.
Wanted prime rib & weren't disappointed
Nice restaurant in South Point Hotel / Casino. Only open certain days, so check first. We stayed across street in Grandview Resort but easy walk. Prime rib was excellent & cooked to our request with all the trimmings. several cuts available. Our meal with 4 glasses of wine & tip was about $85 U. S. Very enjoyable dinner.
Quiet dinner
This has become one of our very favorite restaurants when we visit Las Vegas. The atmosphere is lovely. The food, presentation and service are excellent. They have a nice wine selection and they have a yummy dessert menu. We love the prime rib but other choices are great as well.
A great meal for a reasonable price
Haven't eaten there many times it never fails to deliver an excellent dinner for a reasonable price. The prime rib is excellent and the wide variety of side dishes are all excellent. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxing, a nice oasis from the rush of Las Vegas.
OUTSTANDING!!
This is a great find. First to find a prime rib dinner with salad and potato included for under $20.00 is a heck of a deal. Second that the prime rib was outstanding. In fact I will go as far to say the best I have had in a restaurant. Salads are prepared table side, as well as your baked potato. This is a slam dunk.... ya gotta go here.
Very tender prime rib
We took our friends for dinner at this cozy restaurant located on the second floor of The South Point Hotel So. Las Vegas. Meat was done to perfection and was soooooooo tender. Our friends were very impressed with the quality of their food. We would take futures guest back to this great restaurant. By the way prices were very reasonable considering the quality of food.
Pretty good
We had so so service but the food was really good. Place is kept clean and actually the hostess was the nicest staff in the entire place. Super affordable but well done food
Consistantly good steak
If you're looking for a very good steak dinner at a fair price, this is the place. Reservations are highly advised if you're coming in at peak times. I previously reviewed this restaurant a little over a year ago, and at that time, I raved about the mushroom - parmwsan dip. On this trip, it was dropped from the menu. Message to the management: What were you thinking? While the restaurant has lots of wonderful appetizers, this was hands-down, the best.
Thanksgiving 2018
Opted to do Thanksgiving here this year. There were 4 entre options to choose from. I did the chicken, wifey did the ham and kiddo did chicken fingers and fries (not on printed menu). Everything was pretty good. Our server brought out Chef Tim, to meet our 4 year old. That was awesome. If I had a time machine, I would go back and get the Prime Rib, like I always do here.
GREAT PRIME RIB
Primarily Prime Rib is EXACTLY that!! Primarily Prime Rib.... there ARE other entrees available, so don't think it is JUST Prime Rib. I had the South Point cut... nice sized piece of Prime Rib. It had a great taste to it, but in all honesty, here in Iowa, we know Prime Rib.... and its excellent Prime Rib, but its not EXCEPTIONAL Prime Rib.
Prime Rib Surprise
We couldn't make up our minds whet and where to eat, so are a lark, we went to this restaurant without any expectations. We were very surprised. We had an excellent waiter, one of the best prime ribs ever. We started off with the mushroom and Parmesan cheese dip, then went to the split pea soup, followed by the spinach salad, and continued with a thick cut, perfectly prepared South Point cut prime rib, washed down with a very nice red wine. This meal was superb! Very modestly priced. A nice surprise.
Old style dining
This place is amazing! It is a throw back to the 50's and 60's style dining. The room is a circle, the booths don't go back to back so there is privacy and you're not bothered by others getting in and out of their seats. The staff is friendly but reserved and on point to make sure your meal is delivered, delicious but they don't hound you. The prime is the reason they exist!!! They knocked it out of the park on this one. I mean wow best cut of meat I have ever had and my husband and I are prime rib fans.
Ohhhh boy!!!
When I asked the waiter, " can you muster up a well done, end cut for me? " He almost yelled and said HELL YEAHbut didn't! Hahaha.... best bone-in, double cut I've had ever!!! Seasoned and added the horseradish and was a happy camper for sure!!!
Does Not Disapoint - Good Meal For The Money
Located inside the South Point Hotel & Casino, second floor bar and restaurant area. My girlfriend and I went here June 17, 2015 at 7:45 PM. There was no waiting to get in. We have eaten here before and it appears they have had a slight improvement over out past visits. They started out taking our drink orders (Glass of KJ Cab $6, Coffee $4) and they brought us some warm bread and butter. My girlfriend ordered the Split Pea Soup to start. I ordered the House Salad. Both were included with our meals. We both ordered the South Point Cut of Prime Rib ($18.95 each). They came with choice of potato and we ordered the Baked Potato. Both meals were very good and recommended. For Dessert we split the Strawberry Short Cake ($5.95). Total Check, including Tax ($4.36), was $58.21. Service was very good. Rates A Return: Absolutely! Nice atmosphere and good value. South Point Cut for normal appetites, Cowboy Cut for Larger eaters.
Great food
I had steak medallions and spouse had the prime rib. Salads tossed table side. Food and service were great. Had coupon for free dessert.
Primarily disaster
We went for our anniversary desiring prime rib, we normally love lawry's but wanted a less expensive option. This wasn't much inexpensive and the evening was a lost, I was so disappointed when we left that It ruined our Anniversary. I ordered the standard prime rib I asked for red but not overly bloody. I received a average salad with strawberries, tomato, and greens. Second course was the Entree. It was a average piece of prime rib in a blood bath. I did not like it for both taste and presentation so I asked the waiter to return it to the kitchen. He also served us a small bowl of the most salty mashed potatoes ever, I asked him to return them also. He told me that are made in bulk and would not do any good since all of it was salty. I found out later he could of offered me a baked potato instead- terrible, lousy staff. The prime rib returned over cooked and no taste again. I was hungry and upset but finished the most horrible meal I have had in Vegas. The worst part is we are locals and were celebrating our Anniversary which was destroyed by this restaurant. Management offered after a call to the Head of Food a bar drink comp. That doesn't bring back that night so we are never going there again and recommend the same to others.
Prime rib disaster
Never will I eat there again. My expectations were big because I heard their prime rib should be excellent. I ordered a medium / done prime rib and it came in a blood bath smelling like the slaughter house I used to live next to. Waiter suggested I should try another rib, but it came exactly like the first serving.
