Closed

Nutty Jerry's became Elise's Fun Center a few years ago. The fun center has been closed and the property is up for sale. There is a huge for sale sign on the building.

State of Texas Regulations

Apparently, any time you go into this facility you must wear closed toe shoes, per State Regulations. I've done a little research, though I don't work for the State of Texas... BUT, unless this is considered a Hair Salon or Child Care Facility (ONLY FOR THE EMPLOYEES), the State of Texas doesn't require play areas to make children and adults alike wear certain foot wear. (i. e. Chucky Cheese does not have this requirement) So, this sounds like a RULE made up to cover the owner from law suits. Which is fine, but call it that. Don't put the blame on our beloved State of Texas. We should also remind ourselves the difference between rules, regulations, and laws. There is a difference. And on top of that (a personal pet peeve of mine) they have hung a 30.06 sign up. Really? So, not only should I go by made up 'State Regulations', I have to succumb to the possibility of a criminal coming into a 'gun free zone' and shooting my family. No thank you, MR. NUTTY. I'll keep my money for the 2nd Amendment Supporting Facilities. By the way, I am from the H-F community, not some outsider. I have attended rodeos when it was just an outdoor arena. With that said, I certainly expected more out of Mr. Nelson's investments.

Good food

The food was very good. However they need to do some good old fashion cleaning. The windows were very dirty. The tables were sticky. And the service was not very good. We were tired after a 12 hour drive. We ate there because it was close to the motel. The food was good.

Took our grandsons to Elsie's fun center and they enjoyed our day

Cost $20 dollars a person to enter this establishment. Should give discount to seniors that are younger than 65 imo. Grandsons really loved the small ferris wheel and the Indoor train tool. We also rode the train that travels around the property outside the fun center. However, in the summertime it is really hot riding the outdoors train in the afternoon. They did have covered areas outside that the train travels through but it still was hot and stuffy inside these " tunnels ". Still the grandsons had a nice time and it wasn't unbearably crowded inside the fun center even though we were there on a Saturday.

Vacation

Ok place.. had better. Kind of over priced.. chicken fried steak over cooked. The free rolls were thick and needed more of a bake.

Great fun for small children

I read many reviews before taking my 7 year old for the day. Many reviewers complained about the $20 admission price. I think $20 is a bargain and I was more than happy to pay it to ensure that there weren't people hanging around who had no business there. There is no readmission so you don't have kids leaving and returning prior to their parents picking them up. I think it's a great deterrent to having kids lingering around the place. My 7 year old absolutely loved the place. Her 7th birthday was 2 weeks prior to our visit and I wished I had known this place was such a good place for birthdays. The re wasn't a big variety of food to choose from but they have pizza, popcorn, etc. I think this place is exactly what the name implies.. a Family Fun Center. The hours are somewhat limited so be sure to check before you go. I give it 👍👍!!

Birthday Party

My husband and arrived to celebrate our granddaughter's 3rd birthday. As we were entering along with other members of our family we were met immediately at the door by a lady who informed us that we were not allowed entrance due to us wearing open toe shoes. She directed us to a local Dollar Store where we could purchase shoes. When asked why we had to have closed shoes since all we would be doing is sitting she said it was State regulations. We later learned there is NO such State regulation. In fact, some of our group later told us the children were told to 'TAKE OFF THEIR SHOES'?????? There were over 30 grownups in our group and NONE of us would recommend this center again. Maybe that's why it was once called " Nutty Jerry's " because this is truly 'NUTTY'.

Great Place

So much to do for only $20, Greta family fun we loved it every single time. My only complaint would be the employees seem to think it's ok to complain to customers about their job. One guy refused to let us bowl at 9:05 because they close that part at 9:30 and he seems worried he wouldn't get to leave in time. He could have at least allowed us to play until 9:30 instead of turning us away. other than employees complaining to customers it's a great place

Elise's Family Fun Center: Good, clean & safe place for kids and kids-at-heart, too!

We took 3 boys ages 7, 8, and 10 & they had a blast ! There's any and every kind of indoor fun you can think of including inflatable jump houses and slides, carnival rides, arcade games, ping pong table, pool tables, football tables, bumper cars, race cars, putt putt golf, skating rink, bowling, bunging jumping and more. Snack bar with pizza, nachos, hot dogs, popcorn, cold drinks, blue bell ice cream and more. Food is reasonably priced, unlike many places you go for entertainment, Several groups were having birthday parties. All staff was friendly and professional. There's a feeling of safety. We were there for over 5 hours and the boys never got bored ! They wanted to know when we're going back !

Great place, but a bit pricy

A good and fun place to take any age children. Be prepared to spend a little bit. It's 20$ a person to get in. The food is " just okay " nothing spectacular, but the kids enjoyed every minute of the arcade and the rides.

Fun place for any age

This place charges $20 & you can literally play all day on every attraction. Super fun, clean, & good for kids and adults.

Now Elise's family fun center

This is now Elise's family fun center. This is a perfect place for families with young children and a good place to go on a date. They have bumper cars, skating rink, bowling alley, TONS of bounce houses and carnival rides, indoor go carts, an arcade upstairs and glow in the dark putt putt golf all for $20. The arcade games are free along with every other attraction. You pay for food and drinks but that's it other than the entry fee. This place was a blast for my kids who are 3 and 7.

No Longer a SteakHouse or Concert Venue

This is now an indoor carnival which is excellent for the family. There is a small concession area with good snacks and a bar for the adults to enjoy. Our kids love this place and we have visited frequently. (You better wear closed toe shoes or you will not be allowed to enter, even if you don't ride anything or participate in any activity) Take this as a warning.. Hopefully this place lasts because it is a wonderful family outing.

basketball games

Was not sure about this place but decided to take our son to a game, now I myself am no sports fan. However it was great, people were nice and friendly. We found ourselves there every time there was a game. What made it so great was the price was reasonable, close to home, and a family place. Concessions were available also. Parking was okay handicap parking was great drive needed a little work. I have been by there recently and there is so many improvements it is worth checking out yourself not just taking someones opinion.

Show canceled at 8pm!

I had tickets for the Paul Rodgers concert with Point Blank playing too. We drove to an empty parking lot at 8:50pm, I thought I must have gotten the date wrong... but no... I saw the box office open and they were giving refunds. They said the show was canceled an hour ago and that Paul Rodgers voice blew out. I'm sorry that Paul was having troubles with his voice and throat, but to cancel an event so late in the evening when everyone has driven from far away and booked hotel rooms? If you are going to cancel a show, please inform people early in the day. I know this is not Nutty Jerry's fault, I know he must be as upset as his loyal customers.

BB King concert

Nutty Jerry's was much nicer than I expected. Bleacher seats are wide & nicely finished. Sound was great. Parking lot needs to be paved, but we lucked out and got a ride on a golf cart! The only problem was BB King. We spent $100 for two bleacher seats, and all he did was talk. He sang maybe 4 songs. A major disappointment. Please let the poor fellow retire!

Awesome Texas sized music concert venue!

The seating was well spaced and comfortable. Folding chairs nearest the stage, table seating behind the chairs with really neat handmade high top table & chairs in the back. Nice layout for the large crowd. Regular snack bar type foods available. Clean restrooms. The sound was really great being in such a large room. Staff was very professional and friendly. Nice security very visible. Even though this venue seems to be out in the middle of nowhere it's surprisingly wonderful. Try it!

Aaron Lewis @ Nutty Jerry's

This was our first time to Nutty Jerry's and we were really excited to see Aaron Lewis because of all the good reviews we have seen online. We were not disappointed!!! The venue is a bit rustic / country but that only adds to the charm. We had seats in the fourth row and our view was great! I've read reviews about the long lines for drinks and my hubby and I found a way around that. We saw a nice beer waitress walking around and bought beer from her on our way to our seats. There is no limit on how much you can buy from her at a time so we loaded up and went to our seats and avoided the lines all together. Also to note, if you buy a bucket of beer I heard they charge you a bucket fee so keep that in mind. The restrooms were clean and easy to get to, no lines for me! I also thought the staff was very friendly and helpful. But what made this night out so great was the performer. Aaron Lewis was amazing! His voice sounded so good! He even admits that he's a bit static on stage - definitely not a showy performer but his vocals make up for that! We are definitely going back to see him again the next time he's there!!

" AWESOME VENUE "

This was our first trip out to Nutty Jerry's. We came in from Houston & really didn't know what to expect because of some of the reviews here. First thing people need to understand is this is NOT the Ritz and don't expect it. The lines were long for beer & drinks, but that's par for the course anywhere you see a concert. Sound system was great and so were the staff. We bought VIP table seats and the people complaining about plastic tables & metal chairs must be spoiled and pampered to much. My wife & I will come back for sure.. I guess it depends on the attitude you take with you and what your expectations are.... AWESOME VENUE!!!!!!!!!!

Great venue for the right act.

This was my first trip to Nutty Jerry's. The location is " out there ". I live about 30 miles away so the travel isn't a big deal. I don't think I would want to see a hugely major act there, it's just not the size or type of venue for that. Nutty Jerry's is the right size for the right acts and still gives a " concert feel ". We saw BB King on 1\18\14 (I'm looking for the right place to write a review of the concert. I've seen The King several times and will always love his music, but, " the thrill is gone "), and enjoyed the concert set up. Expect long lines for food and beverages, which is par for just about any concert I've ever attended. The " roaming " beverage girls do help, but have limited selections of beverages in their trays (by the way girls, not trying to be mean, do some situps). I think they could have 20 more beer stands and there would still be lines. The only way to ease the pain of standing in line for 23 min. for a bottled water is to BYOB. That will never happen here and I've only been to a handful of venues that allow it. I received tickets for General Admission in the bleacher section for a Christmas present (thanks again E & H). Get in line early for good, close to the action seating. The bleachers were comfortable and roomy enough for a prolonged concert, but I would suggest paying a little more for table seats. My back is a little sore from the wooden bleacher seat. My age may attribute to this though. Over all, our experience was good and we will be returning in the future. I watched the place being built on drive by's and definitely thought whoever was building it was " Nutty ", but, I'm very glad it was.

Country Western Style love it

If you want to go to a up scale go to Houston Toyoto or Relient Center. i have been twice and enjoyed myself it is all in what you like and the attitude you take when it comes to enjoyment. Before you purchase tickets they tell you General Admission is standing room. You should not expect anything else. VIP is the floor with tables and chairs. They were very nice and patience with customers being rude because they miisunderstood. One concert I brought to the group canceled and it was no problem getting our money back. So everyone have their own opinion but fond bash the place because you had a bad experience.

sound not to good

Sound at this venu is not so good i left after the show with a major headach and wondered if i would ever come back i wont be back i dont think unless major changes with this place

DO NOT GO TO NUTTY JERRYS FOR A CONCERT!!!

This is not a normal venue & they lead you to believe that VIP is something that it is not. When we bought our tickets to see Bret Michaels we got the VIP, we were told that the VIP section was only 10 rows back from the stage & during the concert the first 10 rows have to remain seated, which was not the case & that we would have our own personal waitress providing us with food & drinks. We had to flag a waitress down because there was only 2 to serve the entire venue & once she did get to our table the only thing that the waitress served was beer, $4.00 canned beer, hot at that. Of course the concert was great but that had nothing to do with the venue. The people at Nutty Jerrys are extremely rude & give out misconceptions on what the VIP tickets are. As we were leaving my girlfriend had a bottle water in between her arm & one of the employees grabbed it out of her arm & said you cannot leave with that. I will not go back to Nutty Jerrys no matter who is playing in concert. It is a very poorly ran venue

Upscale Texas roadhouse

No idea what to expect but was pleasantly surprised on recent outing to watch the Steve Miller Band. Didn't want to face driving back to Houston post concert so we got a room nearby. Dinner at Al T's Cajun Restaurant, all very close. Sign at door states doors will open at 7 pm, but no guarantee when band will take the stage. Was expecting a warm up band, but no, Steve Miller and company walked on promptly at 8 pm and started playing! Restaurant inside is closed, and there are apparently mechanical bulls and such upstairs. Long lines for beer and there were waitresses around although none came to our table. No worries, still had a great evening.

2013-06-25 09:04:23

Very rude!

We had a girls night out roadtrip to see Bret Michaels concert. Bought a VIP table and was told that people in front section would not be allowed to stand during songs but this was not inforced at all. wasted our money on the VIP table and the waitresses acted like they did not even want to be there and didnt want to even wait on us we ended up going and getting our own drinks. The concert was great but the venue really sucked for the price we paid. I do NOT recommend Nutty Jerry's for a concert.

2013-06-24 17:29:27

Eclectic

It's a neat little place. If you want a suite with a bartender and buffet you are in the wrong place. This is a hole in the wall and I love it. It sure is nice to have a place like this to get away from the big city and listen to great music.

2013-05-06 09:24:54

Hole in the wall place

Nutty Jerry's does get good performers, more so than bigger Beaumont that is only 25 min. away! The venue is an old rodeo place, seating of bleachers on each side. You can't bring in a portable seat with back, it's not allowed, but they will sell you one or you are left sitting on a hard, backless bleacher for hours. Fold out chairs for the VIP section is probably the best in the front. I sat right behind the VIP area and shared a big table with strangers. A new set up to improve would be seating with chairs turned toward the stage, but that's not going to happen... Getting a drink is a joke. YOu will have to stand in line for 30 min. or more to get a mixed drink... might as well buy a few while you are there so you don't have to be miserable in line waiting and waiting.

2013-04-14 14:57:20

Been there once, enough for me

Nutty Jerry's venue needs more comforts for paying patrons. Seating chart on web site is misleading to start with, then seating is " standing " in general admission, or sitting on wood bleachers or cheap uncomfortable folding chairs. Restaurant is now closed so one has to eat 5 miles away before driving out into the sticks to find this place. Women shouldn't wear high heels since the loose rock parking lot will break an ankle. Tickets do not tell you when the show will start, only " doors open at 7 PM ", our performer didn't come out on stage until 9:30, so our group stood around for 2 1 / 2 hours of nothing to do. This crap hole doesn't come near comparision to primary venues in the Houston area. So as I say, been there, done that, another life lesson, enough of Nutty Jerry's for me.

2013-03-16 14:10:56

Good time in the Willie Way

4 of us went to see Willie with a good table, no hassle parking and easy in and out. Food at concession is typical and expensive. Bar is very slow but in high demand and tipping made for good drink. Show was great and about the right price.

Loved it! Loretta Lynn at Nutty Jerry's

10 of us went to Nutty Jerrys to see Loretta Lynn and Family. We ranged in age from 14 to 70. Had a wonderful time. Read the info on Nutty Jerrys website before you go so you know what to expect. I will give it to you in a nutshell. The doors open at 7. The show does NOT start at 7. Get there at 8 if you don't want to stand outside in a long line to get in. You won't miss any of the show. There are NO outside restrooms so be careful if you do plan to wait in line to get in. Don't go there hungry. Food choices are limited and food lines are long. The restaurant wasn't open when we went, so I can't comment on it-but the website indicates get there 2 hours early if you want to eat there. Simply eat before you go! The lines to get beer / wine / cocktails are long. They definitely need to improve on this. My suggestion would be to have beer / water / cokes on ice in water troughs throughout the facility to cut down on the traffic to the bar areas. Problem solved. We bought tickets in the first row of the " taller " tables. A bit far from the stage but we could see good. My other suggestion would be to install numerous tvs throughout the place so everyone could get a close up view of the performer. Loretta Lynn was AWESOME-sounded great! Her twin daughters sang a few songs but Loretta sang at least 20 and bonus was that Mickey Gilley made a surprise appearance and sang some too. Opening act was Holly Williams (Hank Jr.'s daughter) -very talented singer / songwriter. Educate yourself before you go and you won't be dissappointed. Nutty Jerry's-if you are going to make people wait in lines outside-you need outdoor restrooms set up, Also improve on the food / beverage wait times (more stations), and I will rate you a 5 instead of a 4. If restaurant is going to be closed, go buy 500 pizzas and sell pizza by the slice for those that come hungry. WILL DEFINITELY GO BACK.

2013-02-10 15:00:05

False advertisement

We went and seen Loretta Lynn February 8th. The seat charts where you buy your vip tickets shows 4 sections of seats and I purposely bought two end seats in the middle cause I did not want to have to keep walking in front of everyone, when we got to the concert there was no aisle ways like it advertised and we ended up way in the middle of a row. That is not what I paid for if knew I was going to end up in the middle anyway I could have purchased front row instead of third row! I definitely would not go back to this place cause you never know what your gonna end up with!! On the upside Loretta was great!!!

2013-01-25 20:50:40

It's a Trap!

They advertise 7 pm and once inside no one can tell you what time the show will actually start. You're left waiting and there is no re-entry. Beware! It's a trap.

Elise's Playground, Concert Events - Great fun

This is a nice facility. I especially enjoyed bringing the kids when they have Elise's Playground set up. Nothing comes close to the fun they have set up. Huge assortment of bouncers, slides, agility courses. Rides. Bungee trampolines. Race cars. Bumper Cars. And we never even made it upstairs. Gotta go back next summer!

2012-12-16 13:25:39

STEER CLEAR!!!! WORST VENUE IN TEXAS AND ONE OF THE WORST IN THE WORLD!!!

Steer clear of this venue and its attached restaurant!!! A complete and total ripoff for both!!! We arrived 2 hours before showtime to see the venue with nothing around it, got our tickets, and proceeded to the restaurant next door. They told us it would be an hour and a half wait, but knowing that we were in the middle of nowhere with only an Exxon station a dangerous half mile away and the venue is one of few on Earth that serves no food, we reluctantly accepted to put our name down because we were starving. We waited upstairs in a very noisy and large lounge with a crappy bar and where you can barely hear the hostesses calling numbers / names for tables. (We thought it would make too much sense for them to just have their waiting area be outside allowing them to utilize the huge 2nd floor with tables as well as the first floor to help with large crowds.) Two hours later we finally got our table and after learning that covered food is allowed to be taken into the venue, we discussed with our waitress (whom I might add left us sitting there without a welcome or without taking a drink order, only to be seen starting with the table that was seated after us) what items would be quickest, she began to warn us that the kitchen was running very slow. We felt in the mood for burgers, but she warned that burgers and steaks would take a long time so we picked random items from the Appetizers section of the menu, hoping it would help speed things up and that we wouldn't miss the intro of the show. About 20 minutes later our waitress walked out and seemed alarmed that our food hadn't been brought out yet. Meanwhile, other tables around us that were seated after we had been were getting things like steaks delivered to their tables. I ordered crab cakes and my wife ordered fried shrimp with sweet potato fries and corn on the cob. We started hearing that the show in the venue was about to start so I sent my wife in by herself so she could enjoy the start of the show and I told her I'd bring the food into the venue once I got it. They have thick paned glass windows in the restaurant that don't allow the sound to go through so I sat there another 15 minutes and saw the concert I'd paid good money starting from my table, still no food. I became frustrated and I walked into the kitchen where staff just seemed to be standing around and I asked where my food was. They all shrugged - my waitress had already brought my $25 tab to the table so it would " speed things up ". I started to just watch the show I was missing through the glass and suddenly my food was next to me on my table. I hurriedly made my way over to the venue and as we opened our food my four little $15 crab cakes were there, but my wife's food was missing the corn and the fries were the wrong kind, and there were no utensils. The venue was a joke being 90% tables (yet they serve no food), some chairs in the front and bleachers down each side. Nice options - $65 bleacher seats or share a table with total strangers for $75. Worst concert experience of my 35 years on this Earth!!!

Nice place, but need improvements

We went to an concert and had a good time. However it seems to under staffed for events and inexperienced. Average wait for their $4 12 oz can of beer was nearly 10-15 minutes.

2012-07-17 11:37:12

Good time

They have good food. The wait is a little longer than we would like and the service for drinks inside are very slow. But overall it's good.

2012-04-09 22:08:09

ok

the food was decent local fare but nothing outstanding.

Great shows & good food!

Neat to be able to watch the show and eat at the same time. Great restaurant and interesting menu items too! Love they have name entertainers at a more affordable price and eat popcorn (my # 1 addiction) at the same time!

REALLY NICE PLACE

huge, clean and some great stars go there..... we drove all the way from Waco and were not disappointed in our very first visit there.

Wonderful famous entertainers visit our small town!

Nutty Jerry's brings in wonderful entertainment from country to oldies. Check out their website for future entertainers. You can enjoy steaks and the works in the restaurant while you enjoy the bands.
