Discussed

Fee to enter which I'm ok with, proceed to the view point to find nothing but garbage everywhere! There were no place to put your garbage and the were no cleaners ! For us it was a waste of a trip and do not recommend this as a stop in Baguio.

Come Early to Avoid the Crowd

We visited Mines View Park in two successive months, on a Monday then on a Sunday afternoon. On both occasions, there are many people visiting and " crowding " on the area overlooking the mountainside. Photo taking with the dressed up horse and dogs are available for a fee, plus costume rental for your photo taking session. Souvenir shops have the same price for items sold so it does not really matter where you buy.

Mines View Park still the MVP of vantage points

This tourist attraction is where you can pee the cleanest, and buy trinkets and food the cheapest. This used to be the only place where you can have a photo op with the huge St. Bernard dog (who stunk) but now this huge dog can be seen in a lot of nooks in Baguio, and they smell nice nowadays. But I think of all the vantage points from where you can have an overlooking view of Baguio, this one still takes the cake. It has a gentler slope too so it won't hurt the knees of the elderly.

Shame about the animal cruelty they let at this location

Nothing special here with a pretty average view, got a better view on the way to Baguio on the bus. Didn't like to see the animal cruelty on display with the horses with pink hair, doesn't fit in with the rest of the location and people there just oblivious to the animal cruelty

Great view, shame about the rest

This is our first visit here for 10 years. How times have changed this place. What used to be a moderately busy tourist spot with a couple of dozen pasalubong outlets has turned into an overcrowded, congested marketplace with a viewing platform. First there is the car park grifters charging 50 pesos to park. Then an " environmental fee " of 10 pesos to enter. Add more to use the cr. Now fight your way through the hundreds of vendors taking up every square inch of space to reach the area where you can have a photo with Philippine icons like a st. bernard dog or a horse with pink hair. You can even hire an igorot outfit for authenticity. When you reach the viewing platform keep fighting for a space to take a photo and wait patiently while groups take 300 photos of each other with each other's phones. The view is well worth seeing but the rest is a perfect example of tourism mismanagement. Is it worth it? We think not. Most definitely will not return here and cannot recommend.

A family trip

View is still outstanding but gets to be so crowded that you can't take a decent photo anymore without asking for space from other tourists. The horses seems a little stressed that we did not avail a picture out of pity. A place to buy souvenirs and flowers but would recommend anyone to buy from a place where s group will last visit since they almost offer the same product with different stories and prices.

2023-04-22 11:45:13

the view is mine

nothing much has changed. pink horses and large st bernard dogs are still there for tourists to have their photos taken with a fee. souvenir stalls lined up inside and outside the park. the only thing added was the ten peso-environmental fee being charged at the entrance. what can still be said about this place? the view is still breathtaking.

2023-02-10 02:20:18

Site seeing in mines view

Great weather, but view was not like before as many houses and building already built changing the landscape of the area. No more young natives to catch coins that you will throw from above, igorot costume is still being rented as well as picture taking with colored horse and big cuddleable st. bernard dogs. Be carefull as color coding is in effect in Baguio.

Mines View Park

Mines View Park is a park close by to Wrights View Park, The Mansion House and the Botanical Gardens. It has excellent views.

Mine view and fresh air

Nice place to escape the hot city and enjoy fresh pine air. View the valley below where there is an old gold and copper mine. Best of all this place is free. To save even more money take any jeepney marked mine view, about php8. Lots of souvenir shops and places to eat. Support the senior citizens organizations and dress up like original Igorot people for pictures.

2022-11-15 22:24:11

Stunning

I visited here in November 2022. The views there are amazing. Lots of tourists there. You can hire an authentic costume and have your photo taken. Easy to get too, take a jeepney from near Burnham park. Recommend.

Nice place for other things but not good treatment of the horses

Nice plants on sale and a gorgeous view, but please don't pose on the horses for photos here. The horses have been drugged so they can stand all day for tourists to sit on them and take photos. It's very cruel. Imagine spending every day of your life drugged up for others amusement and profits. Any attraction that includes animals as props is probably cruel in some way to the animal and should really be scrutinized. As a responsible tourist, please reconsider supporting these practices. Check how the horses are drooling.

The traditional baguio sightseeing experience

This is the place everyone comes in baguio and gets crowded as there are so few actual tourist attractions in the city. Prepare to march in a queue to the view point while being solicited for photos and souvenirs. The view is nice but can be seen all over the city without the crowds

Mines View Park

Mines View Park is where you can enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of Benguet's Gold and Copper Mine and the surroundings mountains. There are souvenirs shops around the Park offering such as wood carvings, woven cloth, ash trays, shell products and other items. It is a spectacular place and should not be missed when visiting Baguio.

2021-02-22 06:54:46

Mines View

A few minutes walk from our house is the Mines View Park. Where you can buy souvenirs, keychains, wallets, strawberries and more. You can enjoy the wonderful view their. So this place is a must visit while you are enjoying your vacation here in Baguio.

2021-02-21 05:33:26

Aesthetic

Baguio has a lot to offer to entertain the people, from it's breathtaking sceneries, relaxing landscapes, sacred places, mouthwatering foods, and of course it's climate. I recommend this place for your next staycation.

2020-05-11 05:19:15

souvenir place

you can buy your souvenirs here, key chains, clothes, wallet, food, starberries and more. you can see the view of the mines. and alot of tourist visit here.

2020-03-30 09:54:42

Perfect for sight seeing!!

We went here last vacation and I must say that this place is a MUST to visit while you're here in Baguio.. There's a perfect view and many place to take pictures!!

2020-03-23 11:15:08

Baguio Views

From the top of Mines View, you can see for miles on a clear day. All the mountains that contain the mines of Luzon. Also, there's plenty of places to grab a bit to eat. Plus, lots of places to get some authentic souvenirs and tastes of Baguio.

2020-03-12 02:43:42

Breathtaking views but too crowded

Wish there are volunteers around to at least organize the crowd there. i suggest they give access to a minimum, set a time limit then give way to new comers. When we went there, we were not even able to take a decent pic because the area is too small and most groups were taking the time of their lives taking photos. It was not big of a deal but could have given travelers a better experience if the place is more organized.

2020-03-03 13:48:19

Walk at the Park

Its been a long times since I last visited the park and I can say it has improve a lot. No more crowded streets (street parking, vendors). I think they are more organized. As usual the large crowd is still there but it is still fun to watch. Kids / teenagers were there playing games and practicing just to kill off some time and families & friends just enjoying the place, view and good weather! Good job to the Local Gov't who have work hard in maintaining and keeping the place clean and organize! Kudos

2020-03-03 05:56:55

Good for 1st timers

Good for 1st timers. Don't buy pasalubong. I bought sundot kulangot but it's hard as a rock i can't even eat it.

2020-02-20 12:12:09

Nice view in the morning

The only good thing about this place was the amazing view it offers of the northeastern outskirts of Baguio. The place itself is small, crowded, and many vendors around. It is still worth it for the view.

2020-02-17 19:18:36

Mines Vie Park

Lovely Mountain View's. Lot of street vendors and hustlers but worth the visit. Good shops selling Philippine products on way to site.

2020-02-12 06:24:22

Mines view park

Mines View Park is an overlook park on the northeastern outskirts of Baguio in the Philippines, which is 5 kms from city center, worth visiting for awesome views and especially watch the sunrise. I would suggest to come here after visting Botanical Garden, the Mansion House, Wright Park, and the Pacdal Circle. Worth visiting when you are in Baguio.

2020-02-02 19:49:12

Cool place

Except for being a cold place, it is a cool place! those people are so enthusiastic so glad i get there

2020-01-16 08:13:24

Foggy Mountain View

This place is perfect in the morning. We were lucky enough to have witnessed the majestic view of thick fog blanketing the moutains and the houses just beneath the viewing platform. It's a bit old and small but ut could still cater lots of people. There are also bazaars and souvenir stores around so shopping is not a problem here. Delicacy products are cheaper here and there are more options to choose from.

2019-12-26 20:06:18

Stunning view

Date of visit 2019 Dec 24. Time of visit 10.45 am to 12.30 pm. Sight Seeing 9. Ambience 9. Price Free. Expected exploration time 1 to 2 hours. Sight Seeing: There is a small observation deck overlooking the surrounding mountains and valley. The scenic spot is very beautiful and must not be missed although it is extremely crowded on the deck. There are also photo booths, and sheltered areas where you can shop for souvenirs in the Mines View Park. Ambience: The air is fresh and clean. The view is stunning and breathtaking.

2019-12-19 20:12:50

A mixed of Mining History & the Present times

One could have an awesome experience when in the view deck looking towards the expanse of mountain ranges of the cordilleras, the 1930's mining site of Benguet. Along the way to the view deck, you could take home some of the beautiful ornamental plants and taste some of the locally-made delicious foods.

2019-12-15 01:31:46

Nice View, but crowded

We enjoyed the view for about 10 minutes, but quite crowded to really enjoy for long. We enjoyed a cup of coffee at a nearby restaurant that also had the view. Lots of souvenirs and touristy things to buy. Along the road outside of Mines View Park, we purchased some souvenirs at reasonable prices. Probably would not visit this Park again on our next trip to Baguio, unless people with us have not been there.

2019-12-09 07:16:50

It is great but kind of overcrowded

The view is beautiful but due to many tourists I did not stayed long enough. There are shops who sells a lot of stuff like sweets.

A Tourist Place to Visit or to Buy Souvenirs / Pasalubong (gifts)

Every time that we visit Baguio, MInes View Park is always in our schedule to eat grilled corn / squids and to buy souvenirs, well designed bed sheets / cover and " Pasalubong or gifts for our relatives / friends / workers.. The parking and surrounding areas seems to be now well managed. Tourists local and foreign cannot claim to have visited Baguio without going to Mines View. For Tourists, remember to bargain and ask discounts. ANTONIO F. MATEO, PH. D.

2019-11-29 05:05:06

Nice View

Its amazing cause all the views of this place is beautiful and enjoying.. I will never forgot my experience here.

2019-11-19 02:05:26

Mines View Park

Place is already crowded with tourist. View is not already that appreciated since houses and buildings are devouring the green mountains. Suggest they do another view deck so that more people could enjoy. Feels like there is also an animal cruelty going on this place

2019-11-09 03:57:26

One of the city's main tourist destinations

I always make it a point to visit this spot every time I visit Baguio City and I notice that it's becoming more and more touristy and commercialized. More and more stalls selling souvenirs, flowers, foods, etc. are sprouting like mushrooms. There are more horses, more Igorot costumes for rent, more photographers offering their services, and so forth. Traffic is also heavier. Would I recommend a visit to this place? Well, yes, at least to first timers. It remains as one of Baguio City's iconic tourist spots, anyway.

2019-11-06 06:47:51

Vendors Park

The Mines View Park of today is a far cry from what it was when I was young. There's still one point where there's a " view ", but the place is more like a market now. It's a good place to buy " pasalubong " for friends and family.

2019-11-02 03:29:23

Come for the view

After purchasing the very popular items at Good Sheperd store, a short downhill stroll takes you to have a very stress relieving view of Baguio's narural terrain. You will be surrounded by tourists alike and vendors well organized to enjoy the clean and refreshing view and atmosphere. Easy access to taxi service too!

2019-10-26 01:55:36

Nice View but crowded as hell

The " Park " is nothing but touristy vendors. The viewpoint is pretty nice but crowded. Personally I would hop on any random jeepney out of town and hop of somewhere in the mountains. The View will be just as good and you will be far away from any tourists

2019-10-25 09:05:50

Why... here

There are a lot of places that have the same " view " that this place has to offer. I am really confused of why here.., oh well. The prices of souvenier is the same, as the stores in the city center.

2019-10-25 01:19:17

Still The Go-To Pasalubong Place

When you come to Baguio, people expect you to bring something back at home. Shirts, trinkets, habing Iloko, bags, home accessories and the barrel man - just some of the things that you can buy but the best ones are the snacks that go 8 (items) for 100 (pesos). You can buy as many pasalubongs here without breaking the bank. Plus there are home plants - violet sili, lemon-scented pines and others that would surely be a hit when you bring back home.

2019-10-20 20:17:40

First time visit for my family

We enjoyed the weather and temperature here. We bought some plants and souvenirs. The view was stunning and relaxing it did make us happy and appreciate what we have /

2019-10-14 01:03:17

entirety of activities

in front of it has a lot of stalls sells pasalubong. Inside are mini plants and flowering plants selling. Expect lot of people there. There is a view deck where you can see some part of Baguio

2019-09-19 04:27:21

Miles View Park

This is a good place to get some great pictures as well as do some shopping for souvenirs. Members of a local tribe also offer their goods for sale as well as picture taking.

2019-09-07 01:49:16

2019-08-18 22:06:28

foggy day

its rainy season so we expect a cold, wet, foggy day... the view is still nice though sometimes it is covered with fog / clouds... they still have the horses, dogs and igorots dress if you want to take pictures... plants and street foods you could find while going down the view deck...

2019-08-11 19:49:09

Fog view!

We came here when the weather was gloomy but it did not stop us to enjoy the place. This is actually (for me), a pasalubong corner. Native delicacies and goodies can be found here. Variety of plants are being sold in an affordable prices. You can take pictures wearing their native attire (75pHp), no time limit, take a picture with St Bernard (50pHp for Solo and 100pHp for group). Try their hot sweet corn while roaming the park just simply to combat the cool breeze 🌬🌬

2019-07-24 06:28:07

Best place to buy pasalubong

I love this place not only for the view but also because of the market place. Most of the pasalubong here are affordable as compared to other places - but don't buy strawberries here as it's pricey.

2019-07-02 18:54:28

Add to your itinerary

This place can get too crowded so be there early. You can rent their traditional costumes and take a photo in the area. I don't recommend taking a photo with the horses, poor creature. : (

2019-06-02 10:34:28

Over rated but its ok to visit

Shopping is what made me drive here. Lots and lots of shopping for various Baguio souvenir items. There are good restaurants in the area as well. The Mines View park itself tends to get really crowded and the view is not very spectacular anymore unlike before

2019-05-27 11:07:42

Nice place

Nice place and nice weather... my nephew. niece and grandchildren is really enjoy the view and souvenir

2019-04-27 08:06:51

Waste of time

A complete waste of time, took 1.5 hours to drive less than 2k up there and then there was no parking, another hour to get out of there, there are much better views on the way up marcos hwy than there is up here, a total waste of the day...

2019-04-09 01:08:15

Mines View

The Classis View of The mines view, We need more attraction here, or something to do, the place however is clean and nice, with so many seller of flowers and plants

2019-03-27 06:31:06

Small Park

Mines view park is a very small park. It's main attraction are the vast souvenir shops that lined the streets. There's a viewing deck where you can see the baguio landscape. The park have horses that you can ride for a fee. The place can be very crowded and traffic is expected when entering the park. Good place to buy souvenirs and to visit just to say been there done that.

2019-03-19 23:50:02

Good and Bad

The experience in this park depends when you visit it. On peak seasons, even on long weekends, there's just too many tourist in this park. You won't enjoy much of the scenery. Heck, it'd be even hard to take decent photos. But if you're a photographer and you know how to time the sunrise, this will be one of your best photos.

2019-01-18 19:52:04

輕鬆到達的風景點

輕鬆到達的風景, 下車走到景點大概三分鐘, 風景不錯, 商店也很多可以逛, 就是人潮多了點, 但是免費景點值得來看看。

2018-11-16 11:07:40

Nice

Beautiful view, especially at sunrise, many shops and a lot of foods to choose from, got very crowded mid day

2018-11-07 15:08:49

Wonderful Valley Views

Mines View Park Mines View Park is a landscape overseeing park to have a wonderful view of green mountains and valleys and abandoned gold and copper mines located in mining town of Itogon in the outskirts of Baguio City of Philippines. It is about 4-5 km from downtown Baguio and a beautiful place to visit while in Baguio. The small observation deck of Mines View Park, approached through a winding stone-constructed stairway, a spectator can have a spectacular view of the Amburayan Valley and adjacent mountains. Very close to the Park is the Good Shepherd Convent which is another beautiful religious place to visit and have wonderful view of the mines valley.

2018-09-14 12:15:23

Amazing view

It was my 2nd time in Baguio since 1996 or 1997 I guess once my family visited the City for Holiday, now I'm with girlfriend it was her first time to visit the City, she was amazed of the view of Mines view park, we captured every moment, iba talaga if you're with your love one, iba yun feeling Lalo na kayo lang andun s taas. I decided to visit the City because of her and mines view park never failed me to captured our moment. Hopefully my next time p makapunta sa Baguio.

2018-08-27 19:51:57

Rainy visit

No entrance fee. View is foggy as the weather is raining. There are plenty of stalls selling various pasalubongs and plants as well. There is also rental of Igorot attire and some horses to take pictures with but of course with fees. There is a post of police at the entrance.

2018-08-06 20:24:41

Nature Tripping

If you like scenic views and great souvenir shopping head out to Mine's View. You can take as much photos you like, very nice view and friendly locals.

2018-01-22 12:40:58

碧瑤必到的景點

If you haven't been here, you've never been in Baguio. Cause this spot is popular. Besides admiring a good view, there are so many local foods you can taste and many souvenir shops where you can look around. People come here to take scenic pictures and enjoy street foods. If you are buying souvenirs, don't forget to buy coconut candies.

2017-11-19 08:17:25

better than before

i love the idea that they changed the floor from soil to cement & its more organized now than before.. cute things like plants, flowers, horse and dogs while walking to to the view deck.. its nice to see that there trees again in the view deck.. i hope for more waiting sheds to rest and picture taking..

2017-06-17 22:01:25

StopOver

It's good when it's not crowded. People are nice. The Saint Bernard dogs are so adorable One stop shop, tourist attraction, convenience store (7eleven), souvenir stores, restaurants.

2017-05-25 04:42:57

CROWDED

Mines view is one of the best place to see the best scenery in Baguio- BUT not anymore, its is crowded, packed of vendors, people, and the mountains is full of houses. Such a shame that baguio is becoming crowded and the nature is being spoiled

2017-04-18 22:39:47

One of the best attractions in Baguio

The geographical size of Baguio is very much larger than Vigan. The attractions in Vigan is quite focused very much within walking distance from one another. Majority of Vigan's attractions are concentrated in the close proximity of the Plaza Salcedo. Even the Bantay Bell Tower and the Saint Augustine Church located near the highway are also just 10 mins walk from the Plaza Salcedo. Baguio, on the other hand, has her attractions sporadically far apart complicated by the ups and downs of the terrain. To the far East of the town are the Mines View Park, the Mansion, Botanical Garden and the Wright Park. To the far West is the Church of Our Lord of Lourdes Grotto and the Diplomat Hotel. To the far north are the Bell Church, Strawberry Farms and La Trinidad. To the far south are the Camp John Hay, the Lion's Park and :Lion's Head and Kennon Road. The reachable attractions are those located at the central area which included the Burnham Park, the Session Road, SM Baguio City, the Baguio Cathedral and the city public market. To explore Baguio, we really need to understand how the network of the jeepneys operates, the embarkation point, the disembarkation point and which jeepney goes which way. Of course, you can take the cab but I am looking from the perspective of a budget traveler. Burnham Park was the first attraction I visited in Baguio. From Burnham Park, I walked across the main road to Carantes Street right in the heart of the city and boarded a jeepney all the way to Mines View Park. There is a long queue of jeepney parked along this road with a label clearly stated 'Mines View Park'. It cost me 8 pesos for the single journey (rate for senior). Mines View Park is one of the most impressive attractions in Baguio. Admission is free and it has one of the most breathtaking panoramic valley view of Baguio that I had come across. Standing on the pavilion facing the gorgeous view of the valley and feeling the cold air caressing my face, the stunning scenery was so mesmerizing. There was a crowd of visitors and many were using selfie to take their photos. Mines View Park rekindles my memory of the panoramic view of the tea plantation in Cameron Highland, West Malaysia. Both are characterized by soothing cold weather, mountainous terrain and lovely parks. Near the entrance, there were vendors showcased many of the lovely plants and flowers in this park and you probably can bargain and buy from them. You can also rent the native costume for 25 pesos and take photos with the costume. There are also two horses with pinkish mane where you can pay a token amount to sit on them and take photos. The horses look lovely. There was a warning sign put up at one corner alerting visitors to be beware of pickpockets. Mines View Park is also along the same road down to the Mansion, Wright Park and the Botanical Garden. I first visited Mines View Park, walked a short distance down to the Mansion and Wright Park. Further down you can visit the Botanical Garden before returning back to Carantes Street. We love this place.

2017-04-04 21:53:13

Nice view

The view is nice. There are many souvenir shops. You also can rent traditional clothes and take a pic. Easy to reach there by taxi and jeepney. No need much physical activities. Suitable for all ages.

Crowded, and too many litter at some places

If you're in Baguio City especially for the first time, you're sure not to miss this place. It may be your one-stop place for shopping " pasalubongs, " snacks, wines, attire, flowering plants, souvenirs and everything else that you want to take home. And of course, you can't leave Baguio without buying strawberries! It also sells strawberry plants... I doubted they would grow if I took them to Manila, haha. Apart from shopping, there are attractions too such as mounting on a horse with a pink mane and tail, and a St. Bernard pooch as well as tour guides clad in traditional Igorot attire for souvenir picture-taking. I was overwhelmed by the large volume of crowds! And so disappointed by the trash all over the place. I tried my best to pick some of them up and dispose of them properly... but the garbage was way too much. They're spoiling the place. Despite a voice-over warning not to throw away litter, people just didn't seem to care. The place was overlooking the hills, which was nice.

2016-10-22 23:10:40

Nice landscape

This place is good for short visit, not more that 30 minutes is ok😜 but it still depends on you. Just to take some photos and enjoying the scenery while eating the dried pusit and bbq corn, this what i love in this place 🌽 🌽 🌽.. There are also a lot of souvinier shop in this place but we didnt buy our pasalubong here😊😊😊 A must visit when in Baguio😊😊😊

2016-10-22 11:20:40

What a lovely view 💖

Mines View Park is located on a promontary of land on Baguio's northeastern section -- about 4 km from downtown Baguio. Standing on a small observation deck in Mines View Park, the tourist has a spectacular view of the Amburayan Valley and adjacent mountains and over the gold and copper mines formerly operated there by the Benguet Corporation. From the car park and its souvenir shops (selling items such as tribal artefacts and silver jewelry), the observation deck can be reached by following a winding stone-constructed stairway. Sometimes the stairway can get a bit slippery in Baguio's damp weather -- so take care! Since the main attraction of Mines View Park is the view of the nearby mountains, there are people hiring out binoculars so you can get a better view. The cost is only a few pesos for 5 or 10 minutes. If you get a sunshiny day, take the opportunity to quickly get some photos of the views from Mines View Park -- for the odds are that one of Baguio's mists or fogs may soon sweep in and obscure the view.

2016-10-12 01:20:56

Beautiful view

No entrance fee and lots of tourist shops for your souvenirs or photo opportunities if that's what you like. We just enjoyed the absolutely stunning view!

2016-09-04 12:19:18

Wonderful view

First time ever been there with my girlfriend parent, childrens and relatives. Long hour drive from Cavite and we managed to stay in Baguio for 2 days. Nice view, not totally crowded and its was raining. Fortunely, the rain fall for while and we continue to took a great picture of the hill. Also we rent the Ifugao native costume and experience the native outfit. Hopefully will be back for more trip as our time is limited.

Mines View Rediscovered

Visited the place again and Amazingly the place was completely re-developed and the view and pathway is really better now.. Still the same view, but the mini park had improved. 1 comment though, security needs to improve. Snatching and swindling is still chronic..

2016-06-29 19:50:10

View is still awesome!

The view at Mines View park is still awesome and you will find a lot of good stuff to buy... But I must say that this needs more attention and enhancement from the local government.

2016-06-23 20:27:36

Highly Commercialized Mines View

I've been here from time to time (Since I was a Kid) and as per my observation more and more business are swarming in near the Mines View. They even renovated the entrance which is great. What I like here is the view, but some tourist doesn't even care for the environment. Throwing plastic bottles / littering around the park. I hope the authorities can consistently preserve the beauty of this place. 😄👍🏻

2016-03-28 20:12:56

Lovely!

It's a lovely place to visit. The views are awesome. Only setback was, it's extremely crowded but then again it was Holy Week and it is the Summer capital of the Philippines. I'd come back when it's less crowded.

2016-01-08 00:56:32

Crowded, view not that spectacular

We visited this place on a Sunday morning. It was crowded, parking outside along the road was chaotic. Visitors were mainly local Filipinos. The place was touristy, many shops selling local food, snacks, handicrafts and souvenirs. From the entrance to the viewing deck is only 10 mins walk. The hilltop view is ok, not spectacular. Many locals are taking selfies or group photos. If you are already in Baguio you may wish to drop by for half an hour. Tips - I suggest you visit on the late afternoon or just before sunset for better photo taking. In the morning, our face and view is against the sun. Hopefully, it is not too crowded by then.

2015-02-01 07:39:30

Nice View

Still one of the best attraction in Baguio and still under construction to better serve the tourist. It is more organised than 10 years ago. Warning: Very difficult to find parking space.

2015-01-24 00:15:50

Great view, but touristy

Our friend drove us from Baguio City. Getting to that place was a joy ride of different view. Once there, it is anything but touristy. Some guys even have a pair of Saint Bernard dogs for tourist who wants a photo and there were a few ponies and one had her / his mane dyed pink (poor horsy, what would they do to get the tourist pesos) besides all the costumes and handy craft for sale. The view from the Mines was great. Besides that, nothing much to stay around for.

2015-01-12 05:52:49

No idea what to say about this park

The view is the only thing keeping me from rating this a solid 1. Anything else that this park has to offer, beauty-wise, is ruined by vendors and awful photo ops. For example, you can pay 10 pesos to take a picture on a horse with its mane dyed pink. Why..? I seriously feel awful when people treat animals like that. At least these horses looked fed, though, compared to the kalesa horses in Intramuros. But anyway. THINGS I LIKED: + The view. THINGS I DIDN'T LIKE: - Crowded. Too many people, vendors, and irrelevant, cheesy photo ops contributing to the crowded-ness. - Ruined beauty. The stalls and booths have ruined the rest of the park's natural beauty. TO SUM IT UP: I usually put a lot of thought into my reviews. I just want to get this one over with.

Mountains' view next to the souvenir shoplines

Rent Igorot's Traditional Costume for around Php 20 / U$ 0.5 that comes with complimentary rented accessories for all-you-can snap for pictures or postcards. Take photo with the St. Bernard dogs, very friendly and gentle for such a big dog! and Ride the horse and take photos (both for Php 10 / shot) Any souvenir items are available nearby the area so you should not worry. I think I bought some white shirts for myself and my family for Php75-ish I'm not so sure though but it's something around that price. If you like sweets, and delicacies you must not miss trying the following: - Lengua - Strawberry Jam or Preserves - Chocoflakes - Ube Jam - Crinkles - Strawberry Taho - Peanut Brittle Notes: - You don't have to worry about meals or foods here, I find foods here a bunch cheaper than the foods in Subic / Olongapo City and Manila or any other places I have been in the Philippines so far as I have written this review. - There's a nearby 7Eleven Convenience Store before you enter the Mines View Park - You can also rent binoculars to zoom-in your sight from the mountains ;) I think it was Php 10 for 30 minutes. - If you are a green-thumb, there are also small plants being sold there.

~ Nice Views ~

Mines View Park is around twenty minutes away from Baguio City, and it is easily accessible by frequent jeepney services operating from the city centre. Basically it is a small park which boasts glorious views of the former mines which prospected for gold in years gone by together with the Cordillera mountains, but despite the name of 'Mines View Park' you will be very hard pressed to see anything of the former mines nowadays as all traces of them vanished a long time ago. There are the usual souvenir stalls together with stands selling plants, and toilets are available on the site. The whole area is nicely paved, although the surface is not as even as it could be, and should you be unsteady on your feet I would suggest that you take a walking stick with you when you visit - likewise should you be a wheelchair user I think that you should expect the odd jolt or two. There are opportunities to have your picture taken in traditional Philippine costume, or sitting astride a horse, all of which is great fun. You may hire binoculars, although I felt that the time limit of five minutes imposed was a bit mean to be truthful. There are many shops outside for window shopping or for making any purchases that you might require. All in all 'Mines View Park' is a very pleasant place to visit on a nice day to take in the lovely views - Oh! I nearly forgot to mention that there's no admission charge either.

2014-02-10 06:52:38

Better Back Then

I have been to Baguio last Oct 2012 and came back this Feb 2014. I was excited to go back at first because I haven't got the chance to stay for long the last time we went here (school tour). I was disappointed. The once crowded area below with photobooths of large dogs, Igorot costumes and others are now down to two stalls only. There were even more souvenir shops back then. We got down hoping to enjoy the view of mountain slopes but there are too many people! I was not able to take even a single photo, because the other tourists are all occupying the railings.

2014-02-06 01:43:14

Fantastic View in Mines View Park

This is my 2nd time to be in Baguio but the 1st experience was when I was still a kid and I don't get to appreciate nature at that time. This trip was planned very well. So although there was a traffic going to the location I was still entertained by the tourist guide whose explaining everything to me. We have our own car so no hassle of walking in the sun. We went there around 7am which I didn't know was already busy hours for them I thought we're actually early. I really felt like a tourist. Mangyans are there to entertain they ask a small amount of money for this which I do understand I paid: Famous dog:50php Horse ride: 10php / shot x 6 Wearing tribu clothes: 50php Then I walked to the stalls to buy souvenirs. Most stalls have similar items though if your from here before you know where and how to get a cheaper bargain... good thing they know my tourist guide. hehehe I really had fun here. Next stop strawberry farm.

Not as beautiful as before

This is an attraction not to be missed if going to Baguio. But mind you, Mines view park is not as beautiful compared to what it was before. It's too crowded and too commercialized. The " Poor " Saint Bernard Dog is still there if you want to take some pictures.

2016-01-12 18:53:31

Great View of Baguio Mountains

Now a days, this spot gained more tourists that caused it to be crowded. I suggest book a trip that is not during holidays and weekends. Great of Baguio and enjoy taking photos with out getting in jam.

2012-06-27 17:59:22

It's the best place to watch the sunrise on a clear day

I like Mines View Park amongst all the places that I've been. I come home to Baguio once a year for a week or two to visit family and friends. I am an early riser and one of my first thing to do is just simply to go out and enjoy the sorroundings. I go to Mines View Park, by myself, at around 6 AM and wait for the sun to rise. At this time, there are still no vendors, the white horse with pink hair at the entrance is still in the stable, the smell of grilled pusit, barbcued meat, corn etc is still not in the air and most importantly the crowd has not arrived yet. I pretty much have the park on my own! The air is so fresh, the view of the mountains is just so breath taking although at times you hear the cock croaks at the distant. The highlight of this park for me is watching the sun rise over the horizon.

2012-10-29 03:10:09

The view is gone !

Too commercialized and crowded and yes folks the well loved view is gone. Last time I have been to Minesview park was 30 years ago, the view was still wonderful, lush foliage all around, now the " view " is dotted with people's houses. And it is so crowded, why don't the Baguio government collect a fee and organized all these vendors in an interesting way to reflect the local culture, like setting up souveniers and food shop houses that looks like Indigenouse houses, spacing costume shops as it dotted on the way to the viewing platform, while picture taking with animals regroup in another area to better control animal odors, what's more with the money collected, maybe you can improved the platform like those in the Tagaytay area, to accommodate more viewers and install better crafted stone steps that are more friendly for young children and the elderly to they ascend and descend from the viewing deck, built well maintained even paid comfort rooms or tourists to use. Why don't someone go to the Kiyomizu dera Temple in Kyoto in Japan and copy how they set up the place, to make the experience even despite of the crowds fun and interesting for tourists.

2018-04-01 22:53:08

Overcrowded

We all know that Mines View Park is one of the most well known landmark in Baguio. Seeing an overlooking place and appreciating the view of mountainous area is a must. They also have a photo opportunity horse-riding and wearing a traditional clothes, you can buy souvenirs and garden plants. But Guest what, traffic made it worst. If in case that you wanted to go and enjoy the place, Never go there on Holidays and hire a driver. Promise it is overcrowded and parking is a needle in the Haystack. We went there with my grandmothers and had a hard time looking for parking and also because of the traffic we end up starving. I never would have wanted to post a review negatively but I think this would help all travelers. Always check the traffic status of the place and bring bread and water in case you really wanted to go there, (they have food restaurants there, but since we dont have a parking and we have elderly, we just pass thru the place.-HEARTBREAKING)

2012-10-30 06:58:03

Mines View Park is deteriorating

As years go by, Mines View Park has been continuously deteriorating. Stores selling the same things are all over the place. Even street food are sold all over. I hope the local government can get rid of at least 75% of these stores so people can go around comfortably without eyesore.

2013-08-03 23:28:12

but where's the mining company

If your objective is to see how does a mining community looks like, well this is what you;re not looking for. If not for the signage, one could hardly notice that this is the mine;s view park. As you enter, you will be greeted by rows of stalls selling food, souvenir items, miniature plants specifically cactus. If you love picture taking, pose with an igorot outfit but be sure you have extra cash to pay for the costumes. As you approach the famous mine's view park shed, you can have picture taking with pay with the horses. Throwing coins along the cliffs is no longer advised as it poses danger to the kids who try to catch the coins being thrown by travelers. Picture taking overlooking the abandoned Baguio Goldmines is okay. You want to take a closer view of what's up in the woods? Rent a telescope in the area. For your personal needs, nothing to worry as there are 2 clean rest rooms in the area but with payment.

2017-01-19 19:26:47

Refreshing Feel

This visit is with our young children unlike the previous ones. They liked the view and got refreshed by the cool breeze. As usual the viewing deck was really crowded so it took a while before we were able to get a spot for undistracted family photos. There are other photo attractions available: photo with horses which were colored with neon on their tails, and the lovable St. Bernards! We tried their roasted corncob on sticks- a must try! They are so sweet. The children liked the strawberry taho also.

2014-12-09 12:14:58

Meet Coco! :)

I honestly went there to see Coco the famous St Bernard whom you can take picture with... 2 shots for 50 pesos... :) very good temperament and very cuddly and fluffy. he made us so happy with our pics.

2014-12-03 03:47:52

Still a popular stop for tourists; some improvements done

This is one of the most popular traditional attractions of Baguio City. However, it's name has become a misnomer - there is no more mine to view but mountains slowly being transformed into residential areas. Recently, there has been an improvement in the area specifically, concrete walkways and steps constructed in place of the old steps that were not only unsightly but unsafe as well. Also, the place is much cleaner now and somehow, the pervading unpleasant smell has given way to a more delightful mountain breeze in the area. Of course, the usual features are still there: 1. Souvenir shops 2. Food stalls 3. Binocular rentals 4. Photo-ops (for a small fee) with a colorful, live stationary horse or several huge St. Bernards 5. Potted flower & plant sellers 6. Ice cream / taho vendors (who sell strawberry-flavored taho) 7. Igorot-costume rentals (for picture-taking) 8. Silver stores 9. Parking attendants who also double as car-wash boys Must try: grilled dried squid on a stick (don't ask me why but it's quite enjoyable to eat seafood on top of a mountain). Note to international travelers: English is well-spoken here; the park is free but the toilets come with a small fee.

2018-12-11 17:21:13

childhood memories

Nostalgic trip to this place brings back childhood days. Inspite of heavy crowds flocking towards the weekend, the place was maintained. Plenty of things to buy including plants, souvenirs and street foods for the adventurous bellies. Try the grilled dried squid and much favored corn kernels in butter. Take a picture with the friendly st bernard doggy or rent igorot costumes for a profile pic.. This place never fails to awe me.

2011-09-11 17:58:57

It should be called Magnificent View Park

The park was set on one of the highest peak in Baguio and platform is hanging on a cliff so it was a magnificent view down below. You can see different mountain side views and some part of Baguio and most of all it was free. There was an alley market place for souvineers (reasonable prices) and couple restaurants in the park. It's worth to visit. Tip # 1, avoid weekend visits, too many people and parking was hard tip # 2, early morning visits are less crowded than mid day. (According to locals).

2012-10-08 08:24:25

Pasalubong

The presence of " many " pasalubong stalls is not a good sight, they occupy a lot of space, and they do not create a good harmony with the park as a whole -- relocate.

2012-08-22 08:43:13

expected better.

i was disappointed with the place. trashbags / cans weren't readily available so trash was thrown everywhere. too many vendors too...

2019-03-04 07:56:08

Beautiful spot to watch the sunrise

We managed to arrive early in the morning in time for the sunrise. Was truly beautiful, we flew a Mavic air drone to help capture the best photos we could and I would highly recommend anyone going to baguio to make the effort to wake up early and watch at least 1 sunrise here. You won't be disappointed, unless it's raining.

2015-03-12 12:12:30

2016-12-14 10:49:42

Stores galore!

Mines View Park. Nothing much to see, really. Of course, the point of view is mine. Pun intended. Basically, I believe most people go there to buy souvenirs, food or have their pictures taken for bragging rights. Like, hey, I got to touch and have my picture taken with this humongous canine (St. Bernard, if I'm not mistaken?). Or, wow, lookie here, I'm on a horse with pink mane! As for the view? Not as good as it used to be, with the mountainsides pockmarked with houses.

2012-10-05 20:05:16

Mines View

At Mines View, the view are really amazing, though the fog makes the view a little invisible. I don't like the entrance, as a long the way there are so many shops that ruin the overall view of Mines.

2012-12-09 10:20:59

Crowded and overly commercialized

I dislike the place for the fact that there were so many people. The place is very crowded and the stores worsened the condition.

2018-07-13 15:43:31

too many people

the views are really amazing, but you'd like to get out of the place because of too many people, making your stay quite uncomfortable as it was really hot. There were souvenirs being sold all over the place, lovely plants being grown by the province owing to its climate which were a lit bit pricey.

2013-07-29 11:49:54

Ravaged!

I have seen Mines View at different stages of my life and each time the destruction of the surrounding forest and mountain sides by man becomes more obvious. The human encroachment glares at you in bright galvanized iron roofs. There is a glut of souvenir shops near the view deck- so commercialized! I don't go there anymore because it just makes me sad. It may still amaze people who live in the low lands who are not used to heights.

2017-12-11 21:51:04

Too many tourists!

Mines View Park has been completely commercialised with a shopping centre, vendors, touts, etc. There are so many people that you can hardly enjoy the view. Here's a tip.. head down to the Good Shepherd Convent, a few meters down the road. They have a deck with a lot less crowds and the view is just the same.

2018-02-19 00:13:59

First time in Baguio

My wife told me it was less crowded before and you get to see more of the Mines View. Now its a bit commercialized. Though we were busy on looking at the pine cones. Still great view compared to city buildings.

2017-07-30 00:22:50

With first timers in Baguio

Nice place to visit to shop for souvenirs such as Tshirts, Jackets, Rugs, Hats, Sweets and other trinkets. We usually head to Mines View after taking a long stroll around Baguio. A good place to take souvenir photos with a Horse, A Saint Bernard Dog (which is absolutely adorable), Igorot costumes or just the scenic view of Baguio. You can also get a taste of their famous strawberry Taho or Hot and Steamy Sweet Corn with butter and salt. Always a must visit when in Baguio.

2017-04-10 03:43:27

Picture with ST. Bernard - avoid

this place is really small. Very pricey. Not really worth going here. Just for the view we did check out. Outside the attraction. Selling taho Strawberry and Ube flavor for 20 pesos. Pricey alert. There is also two dogs (st. bernard breed) so my little one is excited to take a picture. dem, they are pricey two shots for 50 pesos. A bit Scam. So they just burst click my phone. So Im not sure if thats the two shots. they even ask us if its okay to try different pose. and we said yes not knowing thats another shot. Imagine we pay 100 pesos for the picture taking. I even browse and find only 3 different pose. and lots of same picture. He must have clicked as BuRSt. the dog name is Sky. we also take a picture with pink hair horse 50 pesos for two shots also.

2017-03-29 19:25:16

Place needs TLC

It was a big disappointment. The place needs some serious Makeover it looks and smells TIRED!! No one is taking care of the place. They are so focused on selling products that they forget to sell the experience. Even the horses .. and the St. Bernard looks unhappy : (

2014-09-08 03:29:37

My All Time Favorite Site in Baguio City

This review is quite late. I have been visiting this place back during my high school days and it feels sad to see how it is poorly maintained now. I paid a modest costume rental fee to avail myself of a great photo opportunity wearing the colorful Igorot g-string. It tuned out to be fun and exciting since all eyes were focused on me.

2013-01-06 21:40:03

nice view

The view from the observatory was very nice. The weather was perfect. A lot of vendors surround the area and many photo opportunities with animals there. Many items over priced. can find them cheaper at the Strawberry farm

2012-12-15 10:50:52

Mines View where no mines

It's already highly commercialized place. No longer fit for the " Best Views " in Baguio. Quite dirty and getting a shot with a tribal costume cost a lot. The mines no longer exists. I haven't seen mines.

2012-12-11 08:43:18

Rugged, vendor laden hillside view of the mountains

We had visited the park 37 years ago on a previous trip. Nothing has been done to improve it. The access from the street requires walking down dangerous, uneven, stone steps. The steps are riddled with vendors selling Baguio souvenirs, from tee shirts to brooms, strawberry jam to sweet corn. There is nothing to hold on to on the journey down the stone steps. So, we didn't go all the way to the overlook. The place needs major work and renovation. You can get nice views from Kannon road.

2018-10-14 18:18:44

Lost its charm. Waste of time

Mines view park has lost its old charm and is a waste of time. The area is overbuilt. The traffic is bad. There is insufficient parking.

2019-02-22 09:46:19

Best place to view sunrise

I went here around 530am and we were the first people to be there. I love the chilly air in this place, I really think the plants have added to the coldness of the place haha!just kidding. You can buy a lot of plants here. After watching the sunrise, have the pic with the St. Bernard dog for 100 pesos6shots. It's always a lovely place to visit this place and enjoy the rising sun on a chilly morning to start ur day.

2013-06-24 23:52:00

Good view with Greater Shopping Galore Experience!! ^

Firstly I went here with my mom to take some pictures of the nice view from the heights, solo pictures with the St. Bernard dog, pictures wearing the native clothes together with the native as well with the pink-colored pony horse.. ^, Lately, I always go to Mines View Park just to tour around some friends and buy some good weaved sweater or cardigans made by the natives. They're all come with different colors and style. Price depends on the quality of the material, it ranges from P180-P350. As of this moment, I have bought 7 weaved sweaters from different sellers in this place. You may find many people selling their flowers, too!! Tips: Always bargain what you're buying for the best price.. (^ _ ^)

2016-06-11 00:52:35

Nice view.... but busy

Many visitors here and the place has now become very commercialized since I was last here 18 years ago. The many plants on sale are good quality and good value which we took advantage of. The view is nice but due to the number of visitors not as tranquil as we would have liked,

2016-05-18 22:38:29

Dont miss this place when in Baguio!

Dont miss this place when in Baguio! A favorite place for filipino tourits. A wonderfull view on the Cordillera Mountain. Mant souvenir shops.. why not, in fact.

2011-12-25 01:34:25

Not so well kept but worth a visit if you want to buy souvenirs

The place is not so well kept. We were here when we were kids and I can compare how it was before. The place though is recommended for those who want to buy souvenirs. Wood carvings, woven products, shirts are the usual souvenirs you can find here.

2011-12-18 04:43:47

フィリピンの渓谷

バギオに行ったら行きましょう、天候に左右されますが一見の価値は有るかと、途中の斜面のお土産屋も色々なものを売っていて値段交渉などして楽しみながら買い物なども良い経験になるかと思います。

2015-11-02 06:20:18

Over-commercialized, no view at at all

I have seen Mines View Park when there were yet no souvenir stalls in its every nook and cranny, when there was yet no " Islands Souvenirs " sign near the entrance, when there was still a view to speak of. Now, this place has been crammed with all those shops. The St. Bernards could be treated better, too. The poor dogs are over-worked and malnourished. It is a sorry sight. Give this place a miss.

2012-03-29 21:04:34

Too much Shops and Vendors around

It's time to decongest Minew View from too much shops and vendors trying to make money out of the tourist visiting the area. Shops and more shops are the primary sight that will get your attention upon arriving which is not fun at all, also disappointing are these entities making business with their pets asking people to take a picture with their pets for a fee, i wonder if they have a permit to do this kind of business on the area at all.

2016-02-29 04:45:39

The old & new Mines View Park

I prefer the old Mines View Park since i feel more closer to nature before it was concreted.. But now its more safer for tourist because of the concreting done

2017-04-24 01:22:10

Area covered with stores now

Haven't been here for years. Hundreds of stores built up every where. The walk down to the viewing area is covered with tourist traps selling junk. Had a pitcher of cucumber lemonade at a place 200-300 feet from the view point entrance. Great patio that was empty with a better view of the valley and hills.

2015-01-29 10:22:46

overcrowded with few food options

Overcrowded and tourist trap with few places to eat, especially after 5 p. m. Chintzy stuff like pictures with ponies and igorot outfits.

2014-07-10 20:45:58

No View - All souvenir Shops

I urge the local government unit in baguio to step up and control all the souvenir shops that almost look like slums because there are sooooo many and right next to each other.

2016-02-15 22:10:48

great place for lovers of plants and taking pics at the ridge

if you like plants, taking pictures with pink mane horses, donning igorots costume for pic taking then this is the place for you. nice view at the ridge.. you can sit around in the seating area while looking over the mountain range. need to look for suitable angle for picture taking at the ridge if not your face would be dark while your background is very clear.. heheh.. recommended..

2017-04-09 14:18:02

A lot of difference

As a little kid I used to frequent this place with my family when we went to Baguio. As the years went by the trips to Baguio lessened and as I went back things became different. The change which took place in this location for about 5 or 6 years surprised me. It is not as scenery-perfect as before. A lot of sellers take much of the space. There are even commercial establishments around the area. Due the pony / horse display, one area smells like the dung of the animals. The view which this place offers still gives a flabbergasting effect but due to the noisy crowd of tourists and the vast lands devoid of trees due to houses and buildings built, it diminishes greatly. Still a good place to go to in Baguio.

2013-07-09 19:30:00

Wishful thinking

I wish we did not take the time to go up to mines view park. Its far! I am not sure what the highlight of the place was. Sure i think the saint bernard and ponies were adorable but the people there were just making a business out of the whole thing. I feel like i took a picture and got cheated on from actually riding the pony at another NEARby attraction or going to the ifugao village to wear their costumes! Everyone was just trying to sell you something!! Total waste of time. I think the only reason for you to go there, is just to verify my sentiments. Then it would be a case of i-told-you-so.

2017-04-09 08:57:55

view of ruined mountains

overcrowded and unmaintained. view are spectacular but deforestation and modernization ruined the background

2014-08-06 11:46:32

Don't expect mines. but the scenery alone worth the climb

when you reach the deck the scenery is breath taking. it is said there are abandoned old mine down there in the valley. but i didn't see any thing except a vague outline. a carnival atmosphere with lots of vendors selling fancy items. be an instant cowboy on a phony to take a picture back hoe (there was nice white one)

2016-01-20 20:54:04

Renovated and Improved

This place has changed a lot over the years. Some changes for the better some just to make the place commercialized. There are now a lot of shops around the place and crowds of tourist walking around. Its not the quiet place to view the mines and mountains anymore. But still a nice place to visit just expect the crowd and the shops

A Viewing Deck turned to a Market

I went here with my Mom in 2014 and in my opinion, Mines View Park lost its reputation by the sprouting food and commercial stalls, its no longer a viewing deck.. It's so crowded you won't get a great picture of the scenery without any photobombs on it. Waste of time..
