Face masks
Some time in 2021. Some of the staff were wearing face masks for some reason, amongst other reasons this caused some anxiety as I had no idea who was talking and there was no reason for these people to wear them, or was there?
decent chippy
staff very pleasant order taken quick and didn't wait too long. i had cheese burger with a handful of chips that came with, husband had cod supper which was huge, with bread and butter.. all plus sort drinks for £20 which is v decent, we will be back and recommend sit in.
Great food
My goodness, what a feast. The portions are enormous. Food was delicious and the young lad who served us was more than helpful. We will definitely be back again.

Great for food anytime of the day / night and good service. I live in Belfast but when I am down in caravan or for the day always call in for the excellent fish supper!!

The person that was frying today needs to learn how to fry, my wife & i got a fish supper my wife got chicken strips. The fish was burnt on one side and full of grease the chicken strips were also too well done. It seems to be a hit & miss if you get good food or not.
Ok food
First time we have been. Shop was very busy with both sit in & carry out. The food was fine but I had to wait a long time for my order (chicken strips & chips) Quite a few people placing orders after me were served ahead of me. Had I been placing a large order I would have understood the long wait. Not sure if my order was missed but had to ask a few times about the delay. While the food was fine its not somewhere I would rush back to.
Very slow service
Very slow service, it took nearly an hour for my order of fish and chips. It was not helped that several orders were given to customers who had placed their order after mine. Will not be back.
Traditional Fish & Chips Cafe
Nothing beats traditional Fish & Chips by the seaside in the British summertime and really thats all I need to say because its a tradition and McClements does exactly that. (Big Portion of Chips and a locally caught piece of cod battered fried until golden brown and crispy round the edges)
Carry out meals
Excellent service and excellent food. Staff very friendly and nothing a problem. Free plastic cutlery for carry out and free tartare sauce.
Quick Supper
I know things are difficult right now.. thanks Rona. This was my first time at McClements. I ordered a fish and a gravy chip. I specifically said JUST SALT on the chips... You guessed it.. vinegar on the gravy chip and the huge fish portion was way overcooked. Didnt eat any of it. A waste of money and probably a customer who wont be eating from the shop again. It was not a good first impression.

Excellent Carry Out
As Motorhomers at the Aire in Donaghadee, a great Chippy for a nibble, Chips made the way I like them.. Quality great. We always get a carryout here and go to the sea front to eat them.
So many staff and no organisation, order takes forever
I take no delight in leaving adverse reviews but feel I have no choice now after my latest of horrendous visit on 13th July just past. As has become commonplace staff are trying to deal with both carry-out and sit-in at the same time and it does not work. There is no team co-ordination and no managerial direction to try and get it sorted. This eatery has gone downhill and continues to do so. After waiting what must have been thirty minutes and leaving with our food, and quite a substantial order it was, we parked up, admired the view and discovered disgusting reheated chips. There is NO excuse after waiting the time we did to get reheated and more than once by the look of it chips, disgusting and seagulls got majority. This is the last straw and I personally will never enter through the doors again and will be advising friends and family the same.
Just ok for food
Went here around 4pm on a Saturday. Carry out was busy but we took a table in the cafe. Our order was taken quite quickly by an elderly woman who was very pleasant. My husband and I both ordered fish n chips with peas. My food was served quite quickly but my husband had to wait at least 5mins for his to arrive! Surely whoever was putting up the orders would have ensured that all the meals for the same table / order were served at the same time. It's not nice to be served before the rest... I wished to eat my meal with my husband not to be half finished when he got his. Would think twice before going back.

Went today for food very slow people came in behind me got food first I was waiting near 29 minutes on a fish supper I asked why my friends got theirs ten mins before me to be told it takes time I replied next time I'm going to the Broadway in pound street owners reply just u do that what a crap chippy.

Carryout at chip shop
We stopped here for an early dinner after spending time at the beach. Our order was placed but when we got home the dips were all the same when we had ordered three different ones!!! Chips were tasteless and soggy. Chicken goujons are usually gorgeous but seemed to have changed supplier not half as nice.. Very disappointed won't be running back.
Sunday Roast
Have been here for Sunday roast, they serve up till 8 o'clock. Limited tables so sometimes you have to wait for a table but it is worth waiting for. As well as a Sunday roast they have a few specials and a full menu. They do a pensioners lunch which is excellent value. I have had the roast beef and the chicken and broccoli bake. It is served with chips, champ or creamed potato a good selection of vegetables or salad. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. I also would recommend the scampi.
Tasty food
Lovely chips etc and I'd recommend the fry as it's very tasty and hardly a spot of grease also it's very reasonably priced!
Never will be back again
Worst chippy ever! Staff were to busy having a person chat about there alcohol weekend and sex life! In front of children!! Service was slow because they were obviously to busy talk then to do there job! The manager just stood there and joined into the conversation! Complete joke! Food was okay but service is awful!

I had the fish and chips and my friend had the same. Price was average. There are very busy as they do carry outs as well.. Service was good and friendly staff..

I really like it here. We got a good time to go in cos it wasn't busy. My son had fish & chips. I saw big of a portion it was and didn't think he would manage to eat it all. Well battered and good size! My own was chips, peas, onions and gravy. What a great plateful and yummy. My daughter had the kids meal, sausage and chips - also excellent. My husband had sausage, chips and baked beans - also as good I would recommend and will be back. Thanks!
Have had better
Were down this way and thought we would treat ourselves. Wish we hadnt of bothered. We put our order in and by the time we actually got our order the notion was off us. We stood waiting fir our order, but people were coming in and leaving with their order before us. Apparently these orders had been phoned in for collection. It seemed very unfair. I stood for over 35mins. Will not be back. The food its self was nothing great. Chips were good fish and battered mushrooms were far too greasey. Need to sort out better system for people walking in of street.
Great Fish Suppers
We have been going here since it opened and have never been disappointed with their meals. The fish are enormous, I don't normally photograph my food and post it on social media but when I first presented with the fish I felt I had to share the experience with friends. The only thing I would say about the place is, when it's busy you need to pre-book your order if taking away.
Poor customer service and average food
Popped in here for a quick lunch takeaway. The mature lady that served me, literally barked at me for my order! What does t cost to be pleasant? They charged me extra money for mayo on a chicken burger.... seriously??!!.. won't be back and will go else where for 'service with a smile'.
Gorgeous!
This is a fine chip shop and a highlight of any trip down the Ards Penninsula. For a reasonable price you can enjoy some of the best chips in the area. You can't go wrong with a sausage supper from here!

Just read the reviews and couldn't agree more, best chippy anywhere, everything cooked to perfection, if you fancy a fry some morning get the big breakfast, enormous and gorgeous

Very consistent with a good guality. Good sized portions and nicely cooked. Might have to wait some time for your order but well worth it
Best fish in lower ards
I would recommend the fish, the batter is crispy and very tasty, a fish supper would do between two people as it is very big, the staff is very friendly and helpful, it has always been busy when I've been in, but that is a good sign, it's great value for money, will definitely be calling in again.
Food cold, staff rude
Was very busy which was a good sign. Waited about 20 mins for our food and when we ate them the chips were cold. Lady at counter was rude who served us. Busyness does not justify shortness and rudeness. She slammed the docket down on the counter as she thought we'd finished our order and then sighed because she'd already put it through. There was no 'can I get you anything else'. We were being polite and giving her time to get everything down but she took that as that was everything. She then didn't say thank you for the money and barely looked at us. Food was average. Chicken goujons small and disappointing. Pastie nice.

Four of us went in for fish and chips. We all had a great meal. And friendly staff value for money and clean.
Best Fish and Chips
Our first night in Ireland we were starving after making the long drive from Shannon we stopped here and bought two fish and did not realize that it came with chips so bought chips as well along with some chicken for my daughter as she won't eat fish. It was so good so when I went to another the following day in another village it was not the same wish they had been open. Will definitely go back.
Favourite Fish and chips
Best chippy I've ate in. Been coming here for years on way to and from our holiday home. Place has great atmosphere and food is top quality. Also very reasonable price which is why we always come back.

Without doubt, this is the best chippy in NI as far as I'm concerned. Generous portions, well priced, good quality fresh ingredients and a varied menu. The curry sauce is divine!
The best " Chippy " on the County down coast!
Q trip down the County Down coast would not be complete without a visit to McClements fish and chip restaurant in Millisle. Always busy and a family favourite. Local caravanners use it as a second home!! The fresh battered Portavogie scampi and chips are fabulous but the menu will satisfy any taste on a budget. Just let the Buzz go over your head. It is always busy and also has a take a way so it can get noisy!
Always nice
Food always fresh and always lovely anytime my family eat out of it. Only gripe is the long wait on your food however they have a phone in collection service which means you get your food almost straight away :)
Poor service
Food good as usual, however when we brought order home it was not correct and we had someone's else's order, this has happened a few times now which is very annoying, would put me off from returning again sadly!
Nice Food
Food was lovely as usual just a pity we had to wait so long, They brought us half our order down then we had to wait 10 mins on the rest including tea, Then 2 of the staff sat beside us eating their dinner telling each other how sick they felt, Which when somebody is about to eat is not a nice thing to hear
Dinner by the sea
We regularly visit our friends who live in millise it has now become our tradition to visit the chippy for chips when we are down food is first class everything cooked from fresh and to perfection. You must try the chips they are so crisp. Excellent value for money also.
Delicious
Fresh, crisp, delicious fish and chips. Also try their curry sauce yum! Never been disappointed and I'm not really a fish and chip fan but I love theirs.
" BEST FISH AND CHIPS " MILLISLE, CO. DOWN
Called in yesterday for first time. Was out for my 56th birthday, going down memory lane to childhood summers spent in Millisle, this chip shop didn't exist though at the time (1970, S). Took our fish and chips to Millisle seafront, had come prepared with tea, bread and butter. The first bite of my chip buttie took me right back, I was in gastronomic heaven. We thoroughly enjoyed every morsel whilst watching the gulls over the sea... Bliss. Highly recommend this traditional fish and chip shop and can't wait for return visit.

Great Fish & Chip Shop
This is a real favourite of ours when we're out for a drive around the Ards Peninsula. The food is always excellent, the portions are a good size, and the staff are very friendly and efficient. If you haven't been to McClements, it's well worth giving it a try.
Good chippy
There fish and chips are very good, however the pasties are really tasteless, a pity really as it can't be that difficult to make a decent pastie!

Best chippy there is
The title says it all this is simply the best chippy there is totally faultless. We used to drive past this place on our way home and were regular visitors, after moving house we are not as close but it is still worth the drive.
