Unforgettable Vacation

The staff's customer service was honestly incredible. My mom, two younger sisters, and I stayed here for 5 days and 4 nights during our Spring Break and as an early birthday present for my sister. We all left with the certainty that we'd come back. Ramiro was incredibly kind and helpful in receiving us and taking our bags to our room. Victor the server who works in the buffet was so attentive throughout our entire stay and would help us out even if we weren't seated in his area. THE ENTERTAINMENT TEAM IS THE BEST! Francisco, Sebastian, Gloria, and Hurias were all super fun and made our trip unforgettable. They led volleyball games in the pool and at the beach, waterpolo, water aerobics / zumba, soccer, bingo, archery, and so many other fun activities. Jhair was a great dj and had a great selection of music to set the vibe. We had originally gone with the idea of exploring outside the resort but we were having so much fun throughout our stay that we didn't want to leave. The staff brought up a beautiful slice of cake for my sister. Everyone is so kind and hospitable. I could rave on and on. If you stay here, I'd highly recommend participating in the hotel's activities, they allow you to interact and meet incredibly wonderful people. Side note: If you are traveling from a country that sells spf higher than 50 and have space for a few extra bottles of sunscreen, I would recommend bringing some for the staff since Mexico doesn't sell sunscreen higher than spf 50. I know I will next time I book a stay. :)

A bit of a disappointment!!!

2 Star may be pushing it. Food is par, maybe even less than. Service is VERTY slow or lacking. Pool is supposed to be heated but it is not and too cold to get in. Beds are actually comfortable. I had high hopes but very disappointed. Not sure how they stay in business.

Waste of money! Spend $500 more and have a better holiday

Spend a few extra bucks and go to another resort. Food sucks, cheap booze. Not worth the money this should be a 3 star at best. Ate breakfast only after our first full day and then left the resort for dinner every night. Don't want to write a huge review, wouldn't repeat and go here again.

Excellent Customer Service

Thank you Tania V. And Krystal Grand for your wonderful customer service. You definitely helped us start our vacation on the right foot. Just when we thought things weren't looking good (our travel agency didn't make the correct room accommodations). Tina was able to give us the guidance and assistance to make the necessary adjustments to accommodate our family needs during our stay. Thank you so much for changing the whole outlook on our family vacation.

Had a great time!

Adrian was amazing - friendly and attentive to us for anything we asked for. Adrian is the best. And Luis was so nice too. Pedro, at the adult pool, was a great bartender. The pool was nice, snacks were good. Only tried the Italian and Japanese restaurants-those were fine. Had a great time and met some great people!

2025-04-04 18:28:17

Oasis bar and Pedro make it all super!

Pedro at the Oasis bar at the adult pool. is excellent! He always Had our drinks ready before we asked. Always on point!! The drinks are top notch and service is epic. I highly suggest mango margaritas and cranberry vodka!! Pedro made sure our vacation was perfect.

The employees make the stay :)

Homero the bartender was amazing!! Just the best he's in the bar lobby when you enter. Jesus the bellboy was amazing very helpful and so sweet and we'll come back for him anytime!! Oscar at the front desk is so nice and gives great customer service!! The residence rooms were a little janky. Things were broken, air conditioner was leaking and the ironing board was broken… although they fixed it, it was a bit of a turn off.. Food at the restaurants was were my least favorite, eating at the buffet was our best bet.

Will not stay here again. Poorly maintained

Resort is outdated and needs lots of TLC. Very poorly maintained. Staff is very friendly but service was poor. Buffet refills were empty and looks like they are short staffed. They attend to you once and it takes 15 minutes to even get water. You have to constantly remind them to bring the drinks ordered. The buffet area needs strong management. I have been to many resorts but this was embarrassing to us since we brought six other friends. What is posted on picture is not what it is. I would not book this place again. We asked for late Check-out and only way to get late Check-out was to post positive reviews and concierge typed the positive review to get free late check out. Overall they need some strong management and maintenance.

Overall Resort Review

Overall we thought the resort was okay. The buffet is small, and doesn't have many options, but the rooms were nice, it was constantly clean, and the people were amazing. Especially our waiter Ismael at the pool. He was always checking to make sure we were content. Quieter area and small resort but overall decent. Booked last minute and happy with how it went.

Very disgusting experience. A 2.5 or 3.0 star at best

For people who are considering this resort... Stay far away from it. I have been here 5 days on a week long vacation and it has been nothing but a constant disappointment. It is definitely not a 5 star as they claim on their website and not 4. 0 or 4.2 as claimed by many travel websites. At best this resort is a 3 and some aspects are even lower. I'll write a detailed review shortly but wanted to post this so whoever is considering this resort now they are aware of what they are getting in

DRUGGED BY PEDRO AT ADULT POOL 2 / 23 / 25!

This was the worst experience I have ever had with an all inclusive resort. Just returned home and finally feel safe to vent. The first day at the resort was good and the second day started out great until the Bartenders at the adult pool Pedro, and his server Angel on the 2 / 23 / 25 Saturday pool party DRUGGED MULTIPLE PEOPLE including myself! All I can say is stay away and If I can save just one person for going though this horrible experience. I'm sure my review will not be the only one you will see here, others will probably vent also when they return home! If I WANT TO DO DRUGS OF ANYKIND I WILL TAKE THEM MYSELF, DONT NEED TO BE FORCED DOWN MY THROAT! Spent the rest of our vacation leaving the resort all day every day to try and stay safe. Us along with everyone else who was drugged was didn't say anything and the resort knows you won't to avoid conflict. The whale watching was great, food was soso and glad I was the one drugged rather than my wife!

Average at best

If I could rate this 2.5 stars I would. It's a nice enough smaller resort, you get the typical resort food, and typical resort drinks. Not great, not awful. Service for us was super hit or miss, (and we tipped well our whole stay) service by the adults only pool was always good, but the restaurants were brutal. As far as nightlife goes, it's non existent, the Sports bar is essentially an old dark room with a few tvs, nowhere to really sit, and pool table from the 60's. The rules are no reserving chairs by the pool or they will take your towels, this doesn't get enforced at all so by 830am the adult pool is pretty much fully taken. And the chairs are some of the most uncomfortable ever. It's a cheaper resort so I wasn't expecting 5 amenities, but it's just very average across the board. Would look somewhere else to stay. (Didn't get altitude package)

Luis Martinez bell boy

Luis Martinez our bell boy received us very friendly from the beginning until the end of our trip. We liked the food in the japanese restaurant in the evenings as well as the view to the beach. The rooms were big and clean though a little noisy..

2024-12-30 23:59:35

Just what we needed

The resort was great, room was just what we needed and the staff were the best. Food was great as well, buffets and restaurants. Hugo and Aaron where excellent bartenders highly recommend getting a drink from Hugo at the altitude rooftop bar, the man is a drink wizard.

2024-12-28 16:09:33

Below expectations

Run down and outdated facility. The staff worked hard to serve but the overcrowded resort was too much of a challenge. Long line ups for dinner, orders not completed and running out of food happened each day. There was not enough loungers by the pools and to get one you had to have a towel out by 7am. Our room was cleaned twice only during our stay and our shower had no warm water for the first 4 days. We were placed in a hotel across the road from resort beside a busy highway which was loud. On the plus, staff were friendly and ocean was beautiful although we were unable to swim in due to current.

2024-12-28 14:19:51

Krystal Grand

I am editing my previous rating since I mistakenly thought I was just rating staff performance. We came here on a promotional package which I again, did not read the fine print. If too good to be true then avoid. Pros: staff is fabulous! Attentive to your needs and very pleasant View from the lobby is breathtaking Cons: Hotel is very tired. Furnishing from the lobby to the rooms are worn and in need of replacement. Pool is missing so many tiles. It needs major work. Pool chairs are broken down along with worn out towels and cushions. You only get one pool towel per person so forget about having a pillow for your head or a dry one after getting out of the pool. Biggest regret for us was not reviewing in more detail the lack of ocean access. Though ocean front not swimmable and there are not even chairs so you can sit on the beach. Finally, the food is subpar. We found items we liked but overall it was poor quality. We spent more money dining off property than we expected. Location is a challenge and not walkable to anywhere or any shopping or dining.

Great hotel

Loved it, clean, fun and the employees were courteous. Will come back again its about 20 min from airport and cabo San Lucas. There is no nightclub but there is a timeout bar where you can sing and have drinks.

2018-12-11 16:46:57

Fantastique

Girls trip

Great All inclusive resort, first time going to Mexico los Cabo and it was an amazing experience. All staffs were nice and friendly, we've arrived early before the check in time which was around 9am. The front desk person was kind and took everyone information, We were able to use one room that was already available and told us to come after 3pm to get the second room, 3 person stayed in each room. We've met and gotten to know " Christian " he is the man with multiple skills, Yoga DJ A karaoke host Any sports He is so good at entertaining everyone, such an amazing guy. I love the breakfast at this resort, all the staffs again are very friendly. Sergio was one of the server that always helped are table. He was good at remembering everyone favourite drink :). Food are amazing! We all loved it. The Italian restaurant, I love there food selection, if only I can have all of them eheh, each one of us ordered different meals so that we can all take a look and try them. Loovvveed it. The Mexican restaurant, I wish I had more things to say about it, I was already quite full from ordering snacks at the snack bar :D. The other girls likes the " masal founding cheese " I think that's how you spell it, it smelled good and it was filling they said. Japanese restaurant, the chef was great!! Ugh, I can't remember his name, he was so good with his tricks, so entertaining. Cecie was are served that night too, sweet lady, she explained everything so well. I would also like to mention ANDARIA AND EVEET. These ladies are so fun and so attentive, they give such a good service. Super friendly!! I can't wait to go back again to this resort, I will definitely recommend this place to anyone, GREAT RESORT, GREAT STAFFS AND AMAZING SERVICE. Thank You RELFECT KRYSTAL GRAN For us 6 girls first trip together to Mexico so Memorable.

Questioning other Reviews? I was too and I'm SO GLAD WE WENT TO KGLC!

I always read reviews before I book / buy something. I wasn't sure about Krystal Grand because some of the reviews weren't favorable. We decided to go, because I really thought it was a great price for an all-inclusive. We just returned and we had a great time! I like nice things and staying nice places, but I'm not irrational. I think some other reviews have their expectations WAY TOO HIGH. See my thoughts: Location / Beach: Not IN Cabo San Lucas, which I actually loved. It was relaxing, not too far of a trip from the airport. It is right on the beach and has part of the beach for the resort so anyone selling on the beach can't cross. They really leave you alone even when you go walk down to the water. Beach / Ocean: The resort does not recommend going in the water. The beach was nice and great and we did go into the water, and stand in the surf; however, the undertow is strong so just be aware and smart. We had stingrays jumping daily and close to shore which was fun to see. Room: We stayed in the Altitude Lounge and were members of the VIP Altitude Club. The Altitude Tower was the way to go, we had a Oceanfront King Junior Suit. We had access to the roof lounge, there was hardly anyone up there, but we didn't use it much either. The bed and pillows were SO COMFORTABLE! It was overall fairly quiet Food: I thought the food was good! We ate at the buffet for breakfast each morning and Rosalina made me an omelet each day! She was great! We ate at Ayami (make reservations early in the morning) We did the full menu or you can sit at a hibachi table and have a determined meal. It was pretty good, but it was hot in the restaurant. It is the only restaurant " inside " with closed windows so we expected AC, but it was pretty warm. Just be prepared for that when picking an outfit. The Grill: we ate dinner here and had the beef fillet which we both thought was really good. This was my husband favorite restaurant. The next night we ate at Risotto where we again had beef fillets, again very good and the prosciutto bruschetta was really good. We went to the Mexican restaurant, this was our least favorite. We had Surfos poolside daily; the Guacamole was awesome and I had fish tacos each day! SHOUT OUT TO SAMUEL! He was the best server in the pool / beach area. THE BEST! We had others I felt like they hovered waiting for a tip, in fact the one stood at my chair instead of taking the catwalk in front of the pool where I was against the wall because I assume, he wanted me to come to my seat and get out to get a drink to tip him. After that I just went to the bar myself. I missed Samuel! Transportation: We had arranged transport to and from airport. We did take public transportation (bus) into Cabo San Lucas one day which was convenient, it stopped right across the street. The hotel didn't recommend trying to cross the road, but to go down to the underpass, walk under and back up. It is a super busy street. We did cross, but it was a little worrisome. Activities: We wanted some R & R so we didn't really do any of the activities, but it was really fun to watch everyone else. They had a lot of participation and it seemed like they had a lot for kids to do too! It was really nice! Drinks / Lobby: The main lobby had the best drinks! They also had bands and events at night we went and hung out there after dinner a few nights. The only thing is the air doesn't circulate well. Its a little warmer than outside. It would be great if they put some ceiling fans in one of the beams just to move some air. Bars close at 10:30p and the pools at 8pm. We loved that because we weren't there for a night party. It also kept it respectful for those sleeping. If you want a PARTY PARTY PARTY go to Cabo San Lucas, but I don't think any of those resorts are as nice. Overall - we LOVED our trip. Our room, the service and the food. It was beautiful weather (hot, we went in July), but we had a great time and would gladly go back!! Seemed great for kids too!

BEWARE!!!

Do not exchange into this place if you are an Interval owner. I deposited my week with Interval and exchanged to stay at this place in February 2018. On the Interval website they have beautiful pictures of the lobby, pools, bar etc on their website but no pictures of the rooms. There is a direct link on the Interval page which will take you to the hotel website in which you can see the very nicely appointed rooms. From there I go ahead and do my research and read some reviews on tripadvisor. This was in October 2017 and everything seemed good so I exchanged. A couple of days before my wife and I are scheduled to arrive on February 17th she asks me about the all inclusive at this hotel. I go online to get some info and come across tripadvisor again and now there are many bad reviews about people being put in vans and being taken to buildings outside of the actual hotel in rooms that are not pictured on the website. Hmmm. What's going on here? We arrive about 7pm on February 17th after a long flight from New York and check in in the beautiful lobby that looks just like the pictures. Great. We ask the guy behind the desk where will our room be? Is it in this building? He says no it's in the building right next door. OK great. He gives us our room key and tells us to wait here for the van. Van?? Why are we getting in a van if we are staying in the building right next door? We get in the van and it proceeds to leave the hotel property; gets on the highway and then pulls into a dark driveway a ways down. We arrive at a building that looks nothing like what's on their website. The van driver takes us to our room and opens the door and we immediately realize we are being put through the same thing as the recent reviewers have stated. The room looks exactly like a short stay motel. Broken ceiling fan, sheets that don't cover the mattress, broken bathroom tiles, dingy sheets and curtains. Nothing like what is pictured on their website. My wife and I make our way back to the front desk suitcases in tow with the help of a maintenance person we found outside. We get to the front desk and ask to speak to the manager. We wait about 10 minutes for the manager to come out and we explain to him that this was not the room that we exchanged for and that we were not going to sleep there. He told us with a smirk on his face that this is the room that we reserved and that the hotel was booked and that he couldn't move us to another room. Maybe I can do something tomorrow when the Interval rep for the hotel is here he says with a smirk. While my wife was going back and forth with this guy and getting nowhere I was trying to get in contact with Interval customer relations which was closed. Go figure. That left me with no other option than to go online and with luck book another resort in Los Cabos for our week which costs us $1850.00. We refused to spend a single night in that room. We called a cab and got the hell out of there. We spoke with Interval the next day and they gave us back our week and exchange fee. They offered to put us in another resort but we had already paid to stay at the new resort and we were unable to get a refund since we booked through a third party website. Interval refused to pay for our stay at this new hotel. My wife and I ended up having a beautiful week in Cabo at a great hotel near downtown. Playa Grande is awesome!! During the course of our week we met people in and around downtown that were well aware of Krystal Grand's bait and switch tactics as well as their unprofessional management and complete disregard for people in general. My advice is DO NOT STAY AT THE KRYSTAL GRAND!!!

Overall pretty good

My review would have been down a point if I hadn't upgraded my room. We first arrived at the resort on Monday, February 12th. We checked in and went straight to our room (up the elevator to the 4th floor and follow the hallway all the way through the main building into the next). First impression was not great. The main building is beautiful but as we continued into the next building, the quality of everything (floors, walls, doors) went down substantially. I had looked through EVERY photo of the resort prior to arriving, so when I walked into our room, I was very disappointed. The room was very old - the floors dirty, orange stucco walls, stove top that was rusted orange, old dirty bathroom etc... Needless to say, I was not impressed and felt like these rooms were absolutely not shown on the website photos - which they really should be for transparency and so guests know what they can expect. I went right back to the lobby and requested another room. I was told that the hotel was full and the ONLY other room available would be an additional $800 CAD for the week (for one of the main building floor level suites with the walkout shallow pool.) At this point I was about willing to pay anything to get out of the first hotel suite we were in so I paid the extra $$ (although I did feel it was a bit steep). Once we got into the new suite, everything changed. It was beautiful, clean, spacious, luxurious, king size bed, rainforest shower head (everything that was advertised on the website and trip advisor). From then on, the experience was great, apart from terrible service at the Mexican restaurant. The Italian restaurant was our favorite - delicious food and quick service. Great buffet in the main buffet area as well - a lot of good options and always tasty. We spent most of our time at the adult pool. We learned after a couple of days of unsuccessfully finding a chair next to the pool, that you have to get up around 5:00 am to go " reserve " your chair by the pool with your towel.. which was a bit silly but you do what you gotta do I guess. Unfortunately, the ocean isn't really swimmable near the resort due the the strong undertow and waves. Overall, we had a great time and were sad when it was time to go. My only recommendation would be, is to ensure you get a room in the main building. I wish I would have taken a photo of the first room to show what it looked like.

Had a great time. Very clean hotel

Felt compelled to write this review after reading what a few other people where saying that stayed there the same time we did. Yes there were some issues with the road noise. The resort was going to put us in a different room, we decided it was not that bad and stayed where we were. The room was spacious and clean, the bed was awesome, the view from the room was fantastic. Enmir the young lady that cleaned are room was very good, she would make sure our many electronic cords were tidied up. NIce touch. We got to visit all the restaurants and they were all very good. Our go to place was the Grill, Very good wait staff, had no problems getting a seat and the steaks were great. Check in was very fast and had no problems. The front desk staff was very professional. The concierge " Omar " went above and beyond in helping us find some Distilled water for my CPAP machine, he actually went to the store on his way to the resort in the morning. We had no problem communicating with everyone. If something came up and we could not understand each other Google translate came to the rescue. Ricardo one of the valets was very helpful and was fun to talk to as he had spent time in the States close to our hometown. We had a great time and would recommend this resort. If we went back I would spend the extra money and get one of the rooms closest to the ocean on the bottom floor with the pool outside the room. We never did go into the pools (to busy doing other stuff), we did hear they were on the cool side. It is not perfect, but what is. My guess is the people that had a horrible time go thru life never having anything go right for them. Besides just go to the bar and have some free drinks and it is all good...

Exceeded expectations. Wonderful staff and lovely resort

We booked last minute without reading any prior reviews. After booking I saw some bad reviews so didn't have very high expectations, and were just looking forward to some time in the sun. Finding such a beautiful resort and room at the end of our journey was an unexpected and beautiful surprise. I truly don't understand the bad reviews. It was a thoroughly beautiful resort in every way, with lovely staff to go along with it. (Shout out to Carlos on Front Desk and Zulima (apologies for poor spelling) in Buffet O and Jonathan in Risotto) PROS: *Spectacular view from Room of both the ocean and lovely grounds / pools. *Rooms are spacious, tastefully decorated and have a beautiful big bathroom with large walk-in shower and 2 choices of shower fixture. Never a shortage of hot water or water pressure. *Beds have very comfortable mattresses with light duvets and crisp linens. Everything seems brand new. *Lovely clean sandy beach with constantly pounding / breaking surf. *Buffet food was not repetitive, with some items changing daily. Omelette bar in morning and grill choices at lunch and dinner also provided variety and option for personal selections. *Never had problem getting into A-La-Carte restaurants with reservations made at 3:00pm daily. *Hotel public areas are kept exceptionally clean (in spite of some guests being slobs) Housekeeping staff are plentiful, very professional and very polite. *Adult pool is separated from the Kids and Family pools. There is also a pool / play area for small children. *Public bus stops right out front so you can avoid taking the over-priced charter busses. *Wasn't bad at all for getting hounded by time-shares. Only saw a couple of them. CONS (mostly minor ones) : *Some rooms are subject to highway noise with the main # 1 HIghway running directly by the resort *Beach is spectacular but dangerous for swimming. Do not plan to swim in the ocean here. *Towards the end of our stay there started to be excessive " Lounger saving " by one group, making it hard to get a lounger by the pool. Many loungers with towels on them but often only about 1 / 5 of loungers in use and no one in the pool. *Adult pool is quite cold. Hot tubs were cold at least 3 of the days we were there. *Coffee is not very good - I was surprised by this actually. *Activities director could tone down the yelling over the microphone all afternoon by the pool. The sound really travels and it's annoying after a while; especially when there would maybe be 6 people participating in the game. *I was expecting a little more of the " Nightly Entertainment " than Karaoke and a canned-music lounge singer. I would highly recommend this resort. Our stay was Feb. 4 - 10, 2018.

Buen hotel

Amenities outside the bare rooms

While the 1 bedroom timeshare I got was really a large studio from interval exchange. The amenities here outside the basic room is wonderful. Sitting by the beach fire, with ocean crashing, underneath the starry skies with a mariachi band playing made me fall in love with this place. Heck I fell asleep on the beach. Room is nothing to write home. No tub, basic cheap shower and bathroom. No dishwasher, no laundry machines just have to pay. All inclusive package for $75 per day covers all meals. No limits of what you eat, 3, 4, 5 meals... sure. Cruise ship on land. Don't go to the buffet here what's the point? Food is decent ranging from Asian to Mexican. Includes as much drinking a partner can consume. Dangerous place for gluttons and partiers. Key restaurant overlook the ocean really romantic. Begging the question why did I come alone?

Birthday trip

We just returned on Sunday from The Krystal Grand, a quick little birthday trip. First impression, the grounds are nice room was decent despite ants in our room. The rooms are very noisey. There was a loud fan outside our room plus the traffic noise. The view was a beautiful Ocean view. We enjoyed the beautiful beach but chairs are hard to find so get out there early. We only stood on the adults only pool side, the pool water was very cold and the pool was dirty so we chose not to go in. There is beach and pool service and they are very hard workers. But the place seemed to lack enough workers and cooks. It took over an hour to get food delivered to you on the beach despite ordering at the food counter. The lack of food options available was very disappointing. Not all the restaurants were open every day. In order to get in the Japanese you needed a reservation and to eat at the non reservations restaurants you needed to get there when they opened or else the wait was very long. We did enjoy the coffee shop but I was disappointed that they ran out of pizza one of the days. The buffet was not very appetizing. The breakfast was decent but the lunch and dinner buffet were very small and not a lot of options. All in all it was a decent trip but we will not be returning any time soon.

Wonderful hotel!

I booked the all-inclusive option for two and we loved the hotel. Compliments to each and every employee and sincere thanks for making our stay so pleasant. Everyone from the staff was kind, friendly, and constantly attentive. The facilities are great - brand new and contemporary rooms with balconies and premium bedding, rain shower in the bathroom. The hotel provided free cabanas at the beach, something we learned other larger hotels want you to reserve and pay for. The three pools were spotless and provided plenty of lounge chairs and covered areas for shade. We loved the fact that most of the restaurants, including the buffet one, were ocean front or with ocean views. We dined at Risotto, the Italian and had lunch at The Grill twice, both can be easily compared to any fine restaurant, the food was amazing! Compliments to the Chefs, very impressive! The Grill being right on the beach with the beautiful view and the menu that was offered was simply the best, our favorite! The whole resort is very clean and all grounds well maintained. It offered more than enough for a perfect relaxing vacation. Will definitely be going back!

Muchas gracias, me encantara volver a visitarlos :)

Baja Mexico Altitude Swim Out King (All Inclusive) Review

Highlights: - Well appointed rooms - Altitude swim out has lovely views of the ocean - Well kept hotel grounds - Within driving distance to other beaches, small towns and restaurants - Great selection of alcoholic beverages - Great pool - Daily room turndown with restock of free beer, soda and water in mini-bar Negatives - Ocean is not swim-able - Dismal food selection / quality - Significant construction still underway - Few onsite evening options (dancing, live music, etc.). There were themed nights in the main lobby that ended early and were family oriented. i. e karaoke, small live music, etc. but no real performances or nightlife. - Rude Teppanyaki hostess We visited Baja for a short romantic 5-day getaway. I chose Krystal Grand Los Cabos because of the reviews related to the new renos that had transformed the hotel and the fact that our trip would coincide with their grand opening. We selected the most expensive room offering which was the Altitude Room Swim Out. There are many swim out rooms throughout the hotel, but these rooms face the public pool area in the center of the hotel. Moreover, these swim out rooms do not have dividers and so there is limited privacy - these might be great for families with young kids. By comparison, the Altitude Swim Out rooms face the beach - there are only a handful of these rooms and a wall exists between each swim out to provide privacy between guest rooms. While we were very pleased with the hotel grounds and our room, the room did not look recently renovated and had some signs of wear and tear. I chalked this up to normal wear and tear that might be expected of a beach hotel. The toilet clogged on multiple occasions, the phone had several programmatic issues and the central air caused significant humidity and dampness in the room. As far as I am concerned, these were all minor inconveniences. However, these rooms are within earshot of significant construction that is still underway. This is a huge drawback because construction begins promptly in the early morning and continues until the evening. Where the hotel lost major points with me was the lackluster food and the fact that this hotel is, at best, a place that guests visit to be poolside. The ocean was ferocious with giant waves and an incredible undertow - this is apparently common and expected for this hotel in particular. To make matters worse, before the waves broke, stingrays could be seen in the waves. There is an area of flat surface from the hotel to the beach and then a significant drop to the ocean. This drop is caused by the tide and violent waves. Sufficed to say, the beach was not inviting and the closest swimming beach was a ten minute drive. Thankfully we had a rental car but, for those without a vehicle, this inconvenience could leave you poolside. Moreover, there are additional costs to leaving the hotel grounds which make the " all inclusive " offering less enticing. On a side note, we rented a reliable vehicle for a whopping $7 USD for the entire week from Mex rent-a-car!!!! I would highly recommend this for travelers wanting to explore. If you like pools and aren't a picky eater, then this is the hotel for you. The pool water was inviting (not too cold, not too warm) and the pool was open quite late. Meanwhile, it was an aesthetically pretty pool with built in lounge chairs and umbrellas. Unfortunately for me, when I go on vacation the ocean is one of the biggest appeals. The pool bar served very tasty drinks - my favorite were the Mojitos with the quality and consistency of drinks superior in the hotel lobby (perhaps because there is less foot traffic). The second and perhaps more noteworthy issue was the quality of food at this hotel. It was absolutely dismal! There were no fresh squeezed juices, none of the salt / pepper shakers worked, the shrimp weren't cleaned or deveined and, quite frankly, any hotel that butchers an egg can't be expected to deliver on other dishes. This was the most upsetting part of the overall experience - being hungry and having few options that were edible and / or accessible. We actually left the hotel as much as possible to eat at local restaurants. On the issue of the quality of food, there is only one reservation restaurant on the hotel grounds - a teppanyaki restaurant. Be aware that the hostess is incredibly rude and selectively discriminates against guests based on their attire. Those that she deems acceptable are allowed to enter with sandals and dress shorts, but others are denied entry. So, you must bring alternative footwear and long pants or a dress in order to mitigate the possibility that you'll be turned away. The food here is better than at the buffet and beach bar, but still nothing to write home about. There is a cafe in the main lobby that serves a variety of coffees, deserts and sandwiches - this is your best best if you don't want to starve! This was not an enjoyable experience for me. It was actually a big let-down. I would not recommend this hotel, but in order to be as transparent as possible I wanted to include aspects of the hotel that might appeal to other travelers. Everyone has different priorities. Since we barely ate at the hotel, this might have been a better purchase had we not selected the all-inclusive option.

A Resort l with a Big Heart!

My partner and I stayed at Krystal Grand for 2 weeks (6 / 17 / 17-7 / 1 / 17). It's a brand new resort with spacious rooms, delicious foods / drinks, clean big pools, a nice ocean view and friendly staff. We'd like to give a BIG NYC shout-out to the following resort professionals for making our stay a pleasant experience: Ms. Monserrat Piña (Quality Manager), Jose (Room Reservation Manager), Diego (Chef), Evelyn (Concierge) and Eduardo (check-in staff) !! They were awesome! Can't wait to see them again in the near future. It's my understanding that more new restaurants and a much bigger gym will be added to the hotel very soon. Hopefully, they will soon increase the Wifi speed and English TV channels as well. All in all, if you want to have a relaxing, safe, fun vacation experience, Krystal Grand has what it takes to make your dreams come true - a resort with a big heart! Jim from NYC

AMAZING and reasonably priced

We spent 3 nights and 4 days at Krystal Grand on May 12-14 for my birthday. I booked online and got GREAT PRICES. We live in Cabo San Lucas, so we are very familiar with different resorts and hotels but have never been to the Krystal Grand. I read the online reviews so I knew that parts of the resort are finishing up construction and the newest pool area that is also the expansion of the new restaurant area is temporarily closed. That was not a big issue by any means. With exceptions to some upgrades being put in place in the lobby area, we didn't hear any drilling or major noise during our stay. DINING : As to food, there were several restaurants to choose from. Poolside bar serving typical pub fare of burgers, tacos, pizza, etc. The ample Buffet that had different offerings daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner featuring salads, appetizers, entrees and desserts along with fresh, cooked to order options. The Japanese restaurant that requires reservations, but no one seemed to have a problem getting reservations (we didn't eat there) and a deli somewhere inside the restaurant, but we never checked it out because all other options were sufficient. It will be lovely once the new section is open and there are more dining selections, but what was offered was more than sufficient. SERVICE: At the pool area, choose one server and stick with that one. Tip well. You will get great service throughout your stay. We had Gregorio and he was FANTASTIC! Buffet area was hit and miss on fast service, but hey, learn to slow down and enjoy the " Mexican Minute ". My only complaint was one day we had to get our own coffee, not really sure why, maybe they missed us when we sat down and each server thought the other one had waited on us. ROOM SERVICE / MINI BAR / MAIDS Yes, there is room service 24 hours a day and they charge a fee. Probably because that means that they have to staff the kitchen with cooks, clean up and delivery people in times that the hotel is closed or when guests have options of eating during regular serving times at the restaurants but don't. It's a nominal fee for convenience, as far as I am concerned. Mini bar - stocked with sodas, beer, wine coolers, etc. Our service lady stocked us to the hilt the first day. Maids - great job of cleaning daily, always had 2 wash clothes, several hand and bath towels, shampoo, conditioner, body gel soap and body lotion. Bathroom - very nice with rain shower and hand held. 2 robes and 2 pairs slippers for your use. Make up mirror and blow dryer. POOLS, BARS & AMENITIES 3 pools open on our stay + the private one to our suite. Kids pool is actually tucked out of the way from the rest of the activities. The other 2 main pools that were accessible included one adult only pool, both included full bar and food service. Beautiful white sand beach overlooking the Sea of Cortez, lots of chairs and lounges. And yes, this section of the Sea of Cortez is rough and not usually very good swimming due to the under tow, but that's not the resort;s fault However, you can mosey down towards Zippers, a local surf / swim area as well a locals' restaurant - you can see it from the resort and it's good cardio to get there, but worth it. If you'd like a change in menu mosey on down to Zippers (you can see it from the hotel's beach, just look at the Sea and then right) from what the resort offers, try Zipper's calamari (nothing like you are used to, so sweet and tender) and their rib basket. There's also a little store behind Zippers on the Highway side if you want any last minute items at local prices. AMENITIES: Gift shop, spa services, gym, business center, on-site baby sitting services, laundry services, taxis, local bus stops nearby, car rental, theme buffets, various entertainment, etc. All in all, this is a very beautiful resort at very reasonable prices for an upscale Resort / Hotel. I would recommend it for any traveler who wants to stay on grounds in order to enjoy everything the resort offers and not as interested in doing lots of activities. I think once the newer section is finished, they will offer just about everything a person could want for an all-inclusive resort. San Jose Del Cabo is the county seat. It is more old Mexico, while offering many well known brands like Walmart, Applebee's etc. It isn't a big party town like Cabo San Lucas. It's quieter and more subtle.

Enjoyable but not the best in the area

Well we enjoy the Baja Peninsula area period. Since we were in that area before we wanted to return. The weather for us was sunny and warm not hot (around 75F) and a little breezy but very pleasant if you wanted to walk around. If we were to pay full price like some people did, I would not have been happy based on the stated cost to be there. However, we got a real bargain by agreeing to a time share meeting (which was longer than they said, but we were in no hurry as we travel to relax). Our room was very large, but we did notice that each building of this resort was different and we had one of the larger one bedroom layouts, but it was very sparsely decorated, cold marble like, and missing a lot of accessories with mismatching items but still comfortable. We didn't like our bedroom window facing a hallway that anyone could see into and a view of the noisy highway. But since we are from the city the noise didn't bother us that much. We had a view of the ocean, but only by looking over the 2 buildings in front of us... but we still could see it. At least we didn't have the just the garden or street view from our living room! Now with our deal, we had an all inclusive and the food was respectable and generally good, but service was a little on the slow side but alas we were never in a hurry. As others have stated it is undergoing additions and upgrades (this is there winter time) but noise was limited to daytime and early morning. So currently expect not to have a long quiet serene day at your room. Now we had a hiccup as they messed up our reservations (not their fault but that of the time share people) so we got to experience an additional 2 days at the different resort in a different location, which I will comment on its own review. Now in Los Cabos, there are lots of things to do. But the disadvantage to San Jose, is that if you want to do the tours and adventures (except Golf) you had to travel to Cabo San Lucas which is either a 20min to 30min taxi ride away or if you are like us, we had to hop into our rental car (which is a good idea if you can handle it). The beach and water area is calmer at Cabo San Lucas and you can't really swim at the Beach at San Jose as there is a strong undertow (at least at the time we were there). We were amazed at the waves as they look like you could be able to surf (but not quite... haha). If you wanted to just stay there, you might be a little disappointed. There is also not a lot of places to shop and walk around to as you are more isolated at this resort. All in all, our food was good (and included) and our accommodations were good but I know we can do better with newer resorts... but we would likely not get it for under 1 / 3 of the price like we did here.

Noisy Krystal Grand

Went there to have a quiet relaxing beach vacation. We like to read books and listen to the waves. This place is really noisy most of the day and night so we couldn't read a book or hear the waves over the loud music. The activity director likes to yell into the microphone to create artificial excitement. Why does every point in pool volleyball need to be called over the PA system when there are only 5 people playing. 150 people are being tortured so 5 people know the score. The music is so loud I couldn't even hear my music on my ipod. Then in the evening we either get terrible loud karaoke or a loud beach party. The worse they sing the more they turn the volume up. It should be the other way around. The resort could be great because they have decent food and good views, but I gave it one star because it was not relaxing and I felt totally stressed out from my vacation there. Get some ear plugs before you go.

Not what I had anticipated!!

Do not stay here. Flight and shuttle were as expected, yet upon arrival the resort told me I didn't have a reservation. What?!? I had all of my paperwork, including confirmations for the booking in hand. They told me I had to contact my booking agent and / or flight and that it wasn't their issue, offering me the option of sitting in the lobby to make calls. Would not offer me a room, despite my PAID reservation, until I provided my credit card where they placed an additional $2500USD hold. When I was guided to my room, I found myself in a building that I question is even a part of the main resort, with a beautiful highway view and loud traffic, situated at the furthest possible wing from any of the amenities. After spending the next 2 hours making charged phone calls to my flight's emergency service and the travel agency, I was informed that everything was in order and it was an error with the resort. I returned to check-in and was finally (after asking multiple times) able to speak to the supervisor, who confirmed the error was with the resort. Despite this, there was no accountability or offering to make amends. Their solution to the hold on my card? They could take it off at the time of check-out (4 days later) or I could buy something from them and then they could remove it immediately. Huh? So now I have ~$4000 USD on my credit card because I have been charged twice, you blamed other services for your error, placed me in one of your most awful rooms, have had me spend the 1st full day of my " vacation " trying to sort this out (it is dark outside at this point, despite my arrival early afternoon), and are now asking me to spend more money at your resort if I want the additional " hold " charges taken off? At this point in the day I have not showered, eaten, drank water, rest, unpacked… nothing. Apparently I had now missed the " cutoff " for dinner reservations and all the pools were closed. It's dark outside so no beach. My all inclusive, luxury vacation has so far yield and empty stomach, dehydration, and an additional pile of fees spent on international calls to agencies that had, as I discovered, effectively done their jobs in the first place. And now I am back where I started; in the lobby asking what he heck is going on?! After making a stink, the resort supervisor informed me that he would " try " to provide me with a different room the following day, although it will be his day off. He also offered to ensure I could get into a restaurant for some food during the evening. Nice. Otherwise, no acknowledgement of what has occurred. Now for me, this is a pretty big inconvenience, but I will survive. I am a white, middle-class, privileged woman, who is able to speak up and advocate for what I perceive as a wrong-doing. I have a credit card and I have a balance that permits me to add additional charges under emergent circumstance. But what is I weren't? Upon arrival I was initially told I had no reservation and I was on my own to sort it out. So I just arrived from Canada, as an individual woman (on International Woman's Day I might add!!!), and you're telling me I have nowhere to stay, despite my booking confirmation, and to just figure it out? Good luck to me? Wow. That is a bar for customer service and support. And the biggest kicker? After engaging in general conversation with other patrons, I found out I was not alone in my experiences. One of several exampled: A family, 2 parents travelling with their baby and a toddler, booked a pool view room only to find themselves in the same building as me, with no admission to any error or willingness to make amendments despite the family's demonstration of bookings. They were then in a position to pack up, trek out with a stroller and 2 little ones, and navigate their way to the furthest pool (the children's area) and / or beach, day in and out of their " strategically " arranged vacation. Bookings not as described (if they exist at all!)

A disappointment.

While we truly enjoyed our two previous trips to Cabo, and our stay at Krystal Grand, this recent third visit during Memorial Weekend 2018 was quite a disappointment. We had our young adults and teens with us, and have bragged to them about this resort and their activities and how good the food was! Well, not so this time around. We felt that the quality of this resort has deteriorated compared to when they just first opened. There were no activities that happened, though they have them on the schedule. No bonfires on the beach or games like they used to have. No cooking classes like they used to have. No pool aerobics either. Why have them on the schedule to begin with? The food was not tasty, quality has changed. On our last night, there was a terrible leak from the ceiling in the bathroom at 11:00pm and they had my children move to another room in the midst of resting. Because of this inconvenience, they offered to refund us the all-inclusive charge for two in the amount of $190. Do you honestly think this is a fair offer? I relented, but I honestly feel that we should have been refunded for a whole night's stay since the move has disrupted their rest and had to do their packing in the middle of the night! At any rate, we will no longer stay at this resort if we ever go to Cabo again.

LOVED almost everything

We stayed at the Bel Air, and now as it is titled the Krystal Grand Resort for 8 days. We had an oceanfront room which was delightful, and the view is spectacular. The staff was excellent and extremely friendly and accommodating. We especially enjoyed our server, Javier (for breakfast / lunch), and our beach / pool server, Gregorio, who were the most professional and courteous servers I have ever experienced. I am in the service industry as well. Our first few days we enjoyed immensely, HOWEVER as many have stated the new hotel construction did disturb us a few nights, one of which was a welding and hammering project going on at 1:30 A. M. It did cease after I went to the front desk to address it. He was helpful, and I understand they were spending a lot of money to try and get Krystal open, but you can't bite the hand that feeds you. Also, at the end of our stay the Krystal opened and as expected there were many kinks and bugs to work out as it is a big expansion project. However, the CORPORATE bosses presence felt stressful, and some I noticed weren't very friendly despite their attempts. As they seemed to bully their staff (just an observation from someone in the business...) Don't eat the sushi bar, never ate the other restaurant. But breakfast was our FAVORITE meal of the day. Dinner buffet was ok if tired and don't wanna go off resort. PLENTY of close restaurants with great food nearby, taxi or bus. If you want to go to the marina in Cabo San Lucas ask the staff to direct you to the bus ($5 for two people each way), its wayyyy cheaper than a taxi ($40). Overall, the stay was extremely pleasant. Great beach. You can swim there, don't listen to anyone about that, i. e. those reviewers likely aren't beach people and don't how to navigate in a real ocean. If you are comfortable in the ocean it won't disappoint. There is even a little break down the beach a ways where you can rent boards and paddleboards and the surf is fun. I hope that the Krystal Grand continues to provide the more relaxed experience that the Bel Air did, and doesn't try to be the over-the-top 5star resort. It's not needed. Great place. We will def be back!!

2022-12-01 17:51:00

Never Again

We were originally booked for this hotel. Stayed one night and left. We went to another hotel for the remainder of our vacation. Krystal Grand was dirty, crowded, awful food, toilets barely flushed and customer service was lacking.

Avoid this resort!!!!!

We have taken 15 trips to Mexico and this is the first time we wanted to go home less then half way through our stay. From Check in, where they told us that the " garden view " room was actually a condo unit across the road and if we wanted to stay in the main building it would cost us an extra $840USD, to the fact our room was only cleaned four times in two weeks I wouldn't come back here for free. Although they have staff members like Yolanda and Ulises who bent over backwards to try and accommodate you, overall the service was terrible. They continually told us they were out of things like white wine, clamato juice, bacon and guacamole. I would not rate this resort any more then a 2.

Don't stay here. It's not safe and they don't care

Do not stay at this resort. They don't care about their guests and anything valuable will be stolen. During our stay (Jan 3 - Jan 9, 2023) all of my jewelry was stolen. The one day for a few hours that I forgot to put it in our safe - there were two sets of staff in our room that day, the people who filled the fridge, and the cleaners. When I went to the front desk to report it, they didn't seem surprised or overly concerned. I had details about specific hours I was out of the room, when I knew the jewelry was taken. They know which staff worked that day, those hours, and used a key card to access our room. Absolutely no follow up has been done about this. They just don't care. The supervisor on duty that evening offered to 'upgrade' our room. We were in an Oceanview room already, the 'upgrade' was to a garden suite view with a wading pool. No thanks. The supervisor insisted I at least go look because she said it was the only thing they could do. The concierge who took me to look at the room told me this kind of thing happens ALL the time at this resort. I filled out a report and I was told to come back to the front desk the next day to talk to a manager. When I did that, there was a different supervisor on duty that day, she had NO idea about the stolen jewelry - the only thing on our file was that we were changing to the wading pool room. No explanation about why or what happened. I said nope, not moving rooms, I want to talk to someone about my stolen jewelry. This supervisor passed the buck and told me that a manager would be calling me and emailing me. I asked when. She just shrugged her shoulders. It has been a month since we left and there has been zero contact from a manager at this resort. Do not stay here!

The WORST TRIP EVERRRRR!

This hotel is disgusting! Our first day, we arrived later after being scammed by another entity at the airport. We went to the buffet because we were starving! The choices were very lackluster. Not only was there an inadequate menu, the servers / employees could not understand English, at all. I asked for a napkin, received a spoon…Not his fault, though! We went to our room, and things got worse. We had no face towels and tried to call the front desk. Oops, phone was broken! Had to go all the way to the front desk, where they told us, " Housekeeping won't be in until the morning, but we will send someone! " An hour later, a young man came and I asked him to bring me 6 face towels. Lo and behold, he came back with six beach towels, sigh…I graciously accepted the huge towels. The next morning, housekeeping came, and I told them about the debacle. The woman said, " no worries! " When we came back later that night, there was only one face towel! I was done with the situation. Guests need to make reservations for the four restaurants, The only restaurant that gets five stars ⭐ Is Ayami! The Teppanyaki chef was the best! The food at the Steakhouse and Mexican restaurants was horrible, but not as bad as the service! The waiters at both restaurants were so rude, I did not even want to leave them a tip. The bartenders at the lobby bar were also great! Upon checkout, I asked the person at the front desk if I could get a sandwich and coffee from the nearby deli before he cut my wristband, he said, " No, it will be fine you can grab it after we finish! " The deli did not agree…I ended up having to spend $30 for food at the airport. Overall, this is a dilapidated resort that needs a major overhaul in every area, except the pool areas, those were nice.

It has potential. Needs service improvement

Our room was very comfortable, with space and great views of the garden, pools and ocean. We were given a room with 2 'queen beds' that were in reality, double size. A big and tall man would have issues sleeping in a bed like the ones in our room. The other side of the room faces the highway right in from of the hotel and it is noisy. The pools were great, but there were not enough pool chairs, so every day I would wake up at 6:30 am to put something on a pool chair in order to reserve. They say it is not allowed, however, everyone does it. It is the only way to get a place to sit. The pictures show the beach chairs on the sand by the beach, however, it is non-existent. The hotel is building an adult-only pool with a bar and I think that once is finished it will be great. The restaurant has a good selection, not vegan or vegetarian friendly, Mexico overall is not vegetarian or vegan friendly, so every day we would eat pretty much the same thing. Coffee is terrible. No butter in sight you need to ask. Restaurants: You can only reserve 1 restaurant a day. The concierge lady who made the reservation does not speak English, I was glad to speak enough Spanish, but otherwise, she was using Google Translate with the ones that didn't speak Spanish. We tried the Italian restaurant, as in a restaurant, we thought that the server would pace the meals, like starter, main dish, and dessert. However, she brought it all at once. We had to eat fast otherwise it would be cold. So it is eat and leave. There is no concept of enjoyment of a meal at a restaurant by the sea. But the worst was the Japanese restaurant. We stayed 2 hours and didn't eat our order, because it simply didn't come. There was one server for all customers. The supervisors just stayed in a corner chatting without helping. We got tired of waiting and then left. Overall, the service is good and everyone tries really hard to make it right and the hotel has potential. But there is a lot to improve still.

2023-02-15 19:25:50

Mediocre at best

We arrived on Sunday feb 12 and are half way through the stay. We have had no hot water staying in the residence area and complained many times, they don't care to fix the issue. The drinks are no good at all, even the beer. Buffet for breakfast never changes and is minimal. They moved us from a king suite to a double bed ocean view and told us it was an upgrade It's terrible not an upgrade at all. The staff don't really care about you either. You are lucky if they re stock the coffee or beer in the rooms as well. The only good thing about this place has been the suppers at most places. Will never return.

2023-10-29 11:54:23

This hotel needs to DO Better

To call this hotel an all inclusive is a stretch. Here is my list of things they need to do better. Pool towels are brown, faded and stained. On the Pool chairs there is not enough and what they do have are wore out. Kids unsupervised running and wrestling around the pool. Property is not well maintained. No bottled water in the room. They charge $9 for a bottle. The room was clean, No blow dryer asked for one 2 times never got one. No hot water in the shower. Drink selection is all low end. 2 beer choices and 2 wine choices. Our time share - RCI booked us there when we were displaced due to a Hurricane. I would never stay there again. I advise any Americans looking at this resort to find someplace else. It may seem cheap but it's not worth it. We have stayed at many places in the area and never had any complaints. Luckily we were only stuck in this dump for one night

Not terrible but will never go back because of front desk staff. Read more for our story

Not terrible resort but won't go back solely because of front desk staff. Food was amazing at the teppanyaki! The other a la carte were good too! The lady at the martini bar makes the best cosmopolitans! We paid for altitude room it was beautiful but no wifi in room we were 2604. The sole reason I wouldn't go back was because last day check out was noon and pick up shuttle was 3pm. No problem. We brought our stuff down at noon, that's when it started they wanted to cut off our bracelet and all services at this time. Told us we had to leave resort in 15min or pay $30 USD to stay till 3. We have travelled to at least a dozen resorts and have never experienced this. We refused knowing this has never happened before. But to a new traveller they would have had to pay or else leave resort. We paid for 7day trip and arrived at 7pm the first day. So we have paid for the final day. For this reason and this reason alone I will NEVER go back! Customer service at the front desk is horrible those staff and whoever else is behind this scheme should be fired. I should mention in November we were at Krystal altitude in Puerto Vallarta and never had any issues such as these so it does not appear to be a " Krystal " problem just one at the Los Cabos resort

2023-07-26 17:56:55

We enjoyed our stay!

This was our first all inclusive trip with our kids who are 6 and 9. We enjoyed the pools and ocean view, but unfortunately the beach wasn't open for swimming, as the currents weren't calm enough. As with most places, there were some staffing issues at Krystal Grand, but all staff members who helped us were great! Leobardo, a server for the pool area, was awesome. He helped us daily and was very attentive, quick, and kind! We enjoyed the food selection at the resort. Our kids particularly loved the buffet, which had different options each day. Diana at the host stand always did a great job navigating during rushes, and we were so impressed by our server Sergio, who always seemed to be in three places at once. Be sure you get the map and rundown from a staff member when you check in. That was super helpful for us, but friends we made somehow missed that step. Important to know that, in addition to the buffet (which does not require reservations), you have access to four restaurants that are open for dinner service, but you must make reservations! We were able to put in our reservations at 11:00am daily. There is a grill, a Japanese restaurant, an Italian restaurant, and a Mexican restaurant (and more options for members). Our favorite was the Mexican restaurant! The flank steak was our favorite, but everything on the menu was impressive. Note that the only air conditioned restaurant is the Japanese restaurant, which also has delicious food. We ate there twice and sat at the grill for our last night. Lots of fun! Kamp Krystal is a great amenity if you'd like your kids to do fun activities for a couple of hours while you visit the spa or relax, but be aware that they only take 10 kids at a time, and that the posted schedule and activities aren't always accurate. Last, we'd like to mention our photo session with Micaela. She caught us on our first day and asked if we wanted to schedule a session. We weren't sure what to expect, but we went for it and were very impressed by her work! Overall, we had a pretty good experience! Thank you, Krystal Grand staff!

The worst place ever my. Worst nightmare

The worst place to stay ac doesn't even work worst costumer service very poor quality very rude staff flys all over the food a waste of your money worst of everything I wouldn't never go back to that place the whole. Staff are so rude and really bad attitude they treat you like if you are staying there for free people please do research before staying in a place like this

2023-04-15 11:18:43

Not relaxing. Hotel experience subpage

Loud obnoxious music playing at the pools all day. Not music just noise. People not very helpful. Food mediocre and drinks are made with cheap alcohol. Area nice but I would never stay here again.

Never Again!

I want to share our experience, so no one has to go through what we did: Being in the hospitality world most of my adult working life, I have accumulated amazing experiences and some socking stories, but nothing of the nature of what I dealt with at the Krystal Grand: Our experience occurred at Krystal Grand Los Cabos Resort were we staying at for a week. Our 9-year-old daughter had a severe allergy to Peanuts and was exposed to and ingested a peanut filled dessert at the resort's buffet. We have always taken every precaution to avoid her exposure to peanuts as much as humanly possible. For the first time ever, we had to give her the Epi-pen we took with us on the trip. We do understand that while travelling the possibility of cross-contamination is higher we felt that the resort did not take appropriate steps before, during and after her exposure. We were very frustrated, disappointed and in disbelief at the ignorance of the staff and the management and their lack of understanding of the seriousness of her anaphylactic allergy. On the day of the incident: We were gone out of the resort for the day on a tour into town. We came back to the resort and headed to the buffet to grab a bite to eat. My daughter thought she may have eaten peanut filled dessert for what looked like a cheesecake. My wife and I both tried the dessert and felt that it tasted like peanuts as well. We immediately asked the staff if there were peanuts in the dessert. There was a language barrier, (since many of the staff members do not speak fluent English). Since we were having difficulty understanding the staff, we did try to look for the Spanish translation of the word " peanut " on the net but since the internet is quite spotty throughout the resort, we had no luck. Finally, an English-speaking staff member came and asked us what the concern was. We explained ourselves to him as he relayed the information to the other staff members. This took about 10-15 minutes as they discussed the issue with each other. Four serving staff came back to us and ensured us that there were " no peanuts " in any of their desserts. Without referring to the packaging or even leaving the general area to confirm. The main supervisor on shift, Rosario also added to the crowd ensuring us there were absolutely no peanuts in the cake and that this is just cheesecake. Even though we could taste peanuts in that dessert the staff out right aggressively denied our concerns stating " there was zero chance of peanuts! " As we headed back to our room to rest, we started to notice additional symptoms my daughter was feeling. She was complaining of stomach-ache. We thought this might be sea sickness due to spending the day on a boat. After some time, she started throwing up profusely so we gave her Benadryl just in case and to see if the symptoms might subside. That's when my wife noticed that her pupils were fully dilated, she was breaking out in hives and itchiness, her heart rate started to rapidly increase and she was experiencing severe nasal congestion, swelling, redness on her face and body. That's when we realized this was a full-blown reaction to peanuts. The ambulance arrived quite quickly and assessed her vitals. While my daughter was in the ambulance being assessed I was asked by the staff to fill out an incident report. Since I am a First Aid attendant, I did understand the need to have this done but was uncomfortable with the timing as my daughter was still being assessed in the ambulance. I did fill out a report but wanted to add to it, so I left it at the front desk. The shift supervisor, Rosario immediately approached me saying " I need to sign this now! " I explained to him I'm going to wait till my daughter is properly assessed and released before I add to the statements and sign as I am under duress. He snapped back at me stating " Then you don't get a copy of this report! " I was caught off guard as I've never seen anyone react this way during an emergency situation. Thanks to the immediate response by the paramedics my daughter's symptoms did subside and she started to recover. When it comes to the safety of guests, there should absolutely zero tolerance for any arrogance by the hotel staff and it should be the responsibility of the management team to ensure that their staff takes every possible step to prevent such situations. It would be expected that if an incident of this nature were to happen, where the safety of their guest is jeopardized, you would assume the team would take appropriate remedial measures. While we are so grateful that our daughter is in good health and with us today, we cannot even imagine if anything were to happen to her. The time we lost due to the staff trying to cover up for their errors could have been fatal for my daughter's sake. We will certainly never go back to this resort again and hope that any traveler here does their due diligence before they decide to stay here. In closing there are many further issues at this resort that need to be shared but first this place needs to work on the fundamentals and get those right. Keep in mind these are all minor issues but need to be shared: 1. House keeping not taken care of. (Apparently you must call to have your room cleaned) 2. Lots of food safety issues. Cross contamination, FIFO, Food handling. Hygiene. 3. Room breaking. Glass TV stand held up with a single leg that broke off as we bumped it with our suitcase. The TV almost slid right off. Shower handles broke. Some furniture is not bolted down and should be. (Not a child friendly room) Depending on the weight the clothes cabinet if opened both drawers can tip (also made of glass) 4. There is no safe in the room. 5. No " do not disturb " sign available but not a major concern as no one comes unless you call them. 6. Ice cream is limited from 12- 5 PM (Try explaining that to your kids especially if they have never dealt with this on any vacation before) 7. Limited labels for any food items let alone allergens or otherwise. (Hopefully you don't have any dietary restrictions). 8. Poor service at the pool. We generally walked up to the bar to get what we wanted. 9. Bring your cash as the ATM is on and off from what I understand from the staff it is a Wi-Fi issue. 10. No Wi-Fi except at specific locations throughout the resort. Best signal is limited to lobby entrance. 11. Wait staff has limited English speaking skills. 12. No coffee machine in room and the Café opens at 6AM with a line up out the door. 13. When housekeeping does come, they are not trained properly to stock staple items. Even after requested service we still had to call back for toilet paper and hand soap. 14. Limit on drinks at bar (so we had to keep coming back) Max 2 15. Limit items at Café (limit 2 so I had to decide should I get my wife a coffee while she is taking care of the kids or do I get my breakfast item since the buffet doesn't open until 7 16. Towel service closes at 5PM or runs out of towels. 17. Broken elevators either don't stop at floor or completely out of service.

2023-03-10 12:29:32

Disappointed

Service not up to standards: Room given not what we booked and administration reluctant to accommodate our request for the room we paid. It took about one hour before we actually got the right room. Quality of food not good. Buffet was limited. Some employees openly displayed prejudism toward us. And favoritism toward others. All in all, service below expectation. Would not come back nor recommend On a good note, Entertainment staff was pleasant, fun and helpful, as were the servers and housekeeping.

Do not waste your money on this 1 star resort

My wife and I arrived at the Krystal Grand for a 2 week vacation on December 15, 2023, Initially they had us put in a room that was filled with the constant road noise of the main highway. They offered an upgrade for 1200.00 USD per week. This of course was not an option. They moved us to an adequate room on the fifth floor of the second building with the view of the private condo pools we were happy with until we found out that the only elevators that worked were at the main reception area. No elevators in any other buildings worked the entire time we were there. I went to the front desk to register our concerns with the deficiencies of this resort after 5 days and was told, (QUOTE) you Canadians believe everything you read on the internet and what is there is NOT what we have here at this resort...... Really The exclusivity of this resort is not mentioned anywhere in any of the reviews or in the bookings. The roof top lounge in pre booking photos looks amazing and one reason we booked this resort, until you get there...... You have to upgrade at a large usd cost of course to the builing that this is a part of. It is on the rooftop of an 8 story building that boasts ocean views, in suite hottubs that may or may not be full by the time you leave and of course the elevator in that particular building didn't work either, glad i didn't waste money on that upgrade. Exclusive pampering seems to be the mantra of this hotel if your will to dish out the additional $$ for it with no real benefit according to the people that I met and discussed this option who paid for it. The resort boasted no reservations required for the a la carte dining in the evening, well that is NOT true. You have to book every day for your suppers, unlike real resorts that will allow you to book days in advance to plan. The Mexican restaurant, the food was very bland with no spice or real mexican flavours. The Grill was the worst New York strip I have ever seen or abused my palet with. The service was terrible and food terrible, oh and you can add a lobster tail to the meal for $100.00 USD. The Italian a la carte was ok, meals flavourful and somewhat of a gluten free options. The Japanese a la carte is absolutely sensational. The Hibachi meal, the food was amazing, the chef who was doing the Hibachi was amazing, fun, engaging and truly enjoyed his craft. The menu meal was very good, the sushi fresh, very flavourful and definitely this is the choice of restaurants at this 1 Star resort. The buffet was convenient however it was the same food for every meal. By the end of the 4th day of 14 you know what is in every warming tray in the same spot at each of the meals every day, breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Christmas Eve dinner was offered in a gala ball room for an absolute deal of 3500.00 Mxn Pesos, Cdn Equivilant of $280.00. Wow really what a deal that was considering it is average 54.00 per meal in Canada The adult pool was closed until the 26-December, not mentioned in any of the bookings which was disappointing. You had to be up and at the pool by 6:30 AM if you wanted a lounge by the pools. There was not adequate supply of chairs for the guests and this was a constant point of disappointment to all the guests at the resort. Of course you have the option of a pillow clad cabana beside the pool but with a cost ranging from 88.00-100.00 USD per day. The drinks were ok, please go and find Pedro at the now open pool bar or the main pool bar, his bartending is absolutely amazing and he makes you what you desire. Big shout out to PEDRO. I am only giving the facts in this review, if a positive review is warranted I am the first one on line and writing about the amazing features, however with this one please be very careful as the pictures, discriptions of services, constant $$ upgrades is not what I paid for on this vacation. We met alot of couples from Canada and we all express the same disappointment in this resort. Krystal Grand Los Cabos it is time for a complete overhaul. THIS IS A RESORT AND AREA THAT WE WILL NEVER VISIT AGAIN, HELLO CANCUN OR PUERTO VALLARTA.

Average Property, will not go back

My partner and I stayed here for 7 days in January. Our room was in the main building by the lobby bar. Good location, comfy beds and great view. The staff at the breakfast buffet and pool were great. The website states that you do not need to make dinner reservations for which was not true. Had to line up every morning. The Italian restaurant was terrible food and service. The Japanese was good food but bad service. The Grill restaurant was average food and bad service. The adult pool was relaxing and the main pool was fun with great drink service. We had a bad experience when asking for more than one mug and Keurig pod for our room of double occupancy. The hotel was less than accommodating. All in all the resort was OK. We talked to other guests that did not have a good experience. We would not return to this resort.

Disappointed

Where to start….. this hotel has so much potential and although not everything was bad I would never stay here again. Check in was quick however there is a resort fee that you have to pay. We were told we could only pay with a credit card however friends of ours paid with pesos. We had cash & would have preferred that. We were told that we would be staying in the residence building & inquired about a room upgrade $150 US a night X 9 nights my husband said no way. So off we went to the residence building. Our suitcases were loaded into the back of a pathfinder & we were loaded in and on our way. Like where were we going that we needed a ride? To put it best we were taken to the slums of the resort. The building is right on the highway. It sounds like the autobahn or a race car track. Once we were in the room it was small, worn down, but we thought ok just here to sleep. We were lucky we had towels. Our friends that stayed in the sane building had no towels for 4 days! They called multiple times to get towels & had to fill out a formal complaint. Like are you kidding me? Our shower head sprayed water sideways instead of straight down so it soaked our whole bathroom. My husband ended up fixing it because waiting for someone to come fix it was a joke. The final straw for me was the restaurant below our room that had booming music late at night. I had ear plugs & still couldn't handle the road & restaurant noise. On our 4th day we went and complained about our room & were told to contact our tour operator. We were given the option of upgrading to the altitude tower ocean front for $105 US night which we decided to do. If you really want to stay at this hotel do yourself a favor & book the altitude. Our room was spacious, clean, we had towels except for 1 day & when I called the towels were brought to the room within 10 minutes. I feel like the residence tower is the forgotten building. So do not book a deluxe room! Our first night we had the only option of the buffet. I'm not a buffet fan but this place it was absolutely terrible. Actually i think horrified is a better description. I had a plate with rice, that's all I could find to eat. Everything looked disgusting and not edible. Good thing my kids were not on the trip they would have starved. The only option for breakfast is the buffet & the only half decent part is the omelette station. Like I don't want chicken & refried beans for breakfast. There was only a 4 slice toaster for the entire buffet & only half of it worked. Friends that joined us later in our stay & stayed after us said the toaster must have completely died because then it was just gone - so no toast for anyone. We ate at the Asian restaurant one night and didn't do the show the food was gross. The teppanyaki is the only way to go, the food is cooked right in front of you and it was delicious. You have to stand in line for 3pm outside this restaurant to book the teppanyaki table. Sort of a pain but worth it. The Italian was pretty good as well. We ate at the Mexican 1 night. Service was extremely slow & the food was meh. We never ate at the grill based on other guests at the resort that we spoke to. The only good thing about booking the a la cart is you do it online daily. It seemed like the new reservation system for that is still working out the kinks. But at least we didn't have to stand in line at 11 every day. You can get burgers, fries, hotdogs, guacamole & chips at lunch poolside. Food was edible but not amazing & usually cold. This resort needs to do more food wise. Hire new chefs or something. The grounds are nice, the pools look nice. We only sat at the adult pool. Tiles are missing, pool chairs need to be replaced. There is no music so guests are playing their own music & then it becomes the battle of music. Why the resort doesn't have music playing there is ridiculous. Oh and let's not forget about the chair police. Security will take your belongings if you leave your chair unattended. Security told me 30 min max. Like I get it, reserving a chair & then not being there for half the day isn't fair to anyone. However we had a group of 10 adults at one point during our week & we couldn't even all go to breakfast or lunch or a walk on the beach in fear our belongings would be gone. I'm just saying a 30 min rule is ridiculous. It seems that security is in full force Monday & Tuesday & then you don't really see them. There is absolutely no night life at this resort. No live music, no shows, nothing. Our first night they had movie on the beach which looked fun but we had no interest in a kids movie. The martini & tapas bar only serves drinks so not sure why tapas is on the sign. The time out bar might be the only place to hang until 10pm where it looked like every night there was karaoke. Great if you like that sort of thing. There are no tables & chairs really for anyone to sit, have drinks, play games. Even the main lobby bar is not that big. The beach is really nice. We did walk to zippers and had snacks & drinks 1 day. Highly recommend. Bottom line it wasn't a terrible time as we made the best of our stay but I definitely will not return.

Bel Air not honoring the signed contract for the Owners Circle

On June 30, 2022, I signed up for the Bel Air Grand Cabo owner's circle at the Crystal Grand. Not only did I make sure the terms of the contract were clearly verbalised with Tonella, I ensured that the contract was adjusted to lay out what was being promised. Now 10 months later, I have not been provided what was verbally and contractually agreed upon. I've tried to work this out several times over the months with the Customer Service, without success. The terms are clearly noted on the Verification page of my contract by Bel Air refuses to adhere to the terms. This really sucks because I got married at the Krystal Grand that year, and they refuse to honor the agreement signed with the owner's circle. Please do not buy with the Bel Air Owners Circle. The will not honor the terms of their signed agreement.

Honeymooners 2023

The best part about my honeymoon at this resort was the staff. The staff made this experience unforgettable. One staff member stuck out the most- Omar. Omar does an incredible job keeping everyone at the activity pool engaged, laughing, and having a great time. If you have the opportunity to go on the city tour, Omar is a great tour guide as well. Thank you to the incredible staff and Omar for an unforgettable honeymoon.

Don't stay here

Horrible customer service and lots of maintenance issues. Please stay somewhere else. Rooms are not as advertised. No tables, no chairs, cheap decor and very old. Garza Blanca, Hyatt ziva and others are great alternatives.

Krystal Resort SJD. DONT STAY THERE

Read other reviews, that will convince you NOT to stay there. 1st night no TV no hot water, fridge didn't work, room couch, drapes were very dirty. 2nd night music played till 11:00 with loud speaker blaring till 11. Very sparse breakfast orange flavoured water no bacon. Turns out bell man says many guest leave early.

Great Experience for a first timer

My husband and I were at this resort for our birthdays this year, and this was my first time in Mexico. For a first timer, this resort was excellent. The staff made the whole trip a wonderful experience. Special shout outs to Julien, the pool waiter and the pool bar staff, Omar, Leonardo and the other young lady who were the entertainment directors at the pool, Alfredo and Marco, the valets, Hugo and the other bartenders at the lobby bar, and Isidro at the sports bar. We had such a great time with these guys and the service they gave was second to none. The restaurant staff were incredible, as was the food. We will never forget the bubble party at the pool, what a blast! The tour operators were also amazing. In particular, Juan who took us on the Hotel California tour was incredible and so informative. I would strongly recommend this tour for anyone in the area. I have also left a review for the Wild Canyon Park who were incredible and the professional photographer at the resort took amazing photos for us and we were able to get a great price for the photos we chose. Wonderful Christmas gifts for our families. We made a lot of new friends on this trip and found there were a large number of Canadians who lived near us in Calgary, which made it like a taste of home lol. Thank you to everyone who made this trip so memorable!

Great location, horrible WiFi

Super helpful and friendly staff. Great location. Food at most restaurants was between " ok " and " inedible ". Bars are stocked with very little variety. All of this would have been ok, but the WiFi was terrible in most places around the resort. Most serious travelers would scoff at an observation on the WiFi, but in this day and age when you are trying to balance work, streaming and whatever the kids are up to, try living without. It's a deal breaker.

Unfinished room

We were put up here by the Welk Resort for completing a timeshare presentation. The overall facade of the hotel is great, but we were placed in an unfinished room next to the highway. Do not stay here until they complete their construction. Only two pools are open. We were placed in a building next to the highway and the traffic was SO LOUD. The only way to access the lobby or pool was to walk along the highway or to go through construction through the underground part of the building. It was dangerous and I fell and scraped up my knees and hands. This place has potential but do not stay until it's completed. They 'upgraded' us to a room with a kitchen, but NOTHING WAS IN THE KITCHEN. There wasn't a trash can, soap, dishes, utensils or even hand towels. We had to call downstairs five times in order to get the kitchen basics. This place needs a lot of work.

NOTHING GRAND ABOUT THIS KRYSTAL EXCEPT THE VIEW.. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME ESPECIALLY IF YOU WANT HOT FOOD OR HOT WATER…

I have thought many times how and what I would say in my review but I have summed it to …just DON'T!! Unless you like highway noise ALL NIGHT because the. Main highway is outside your room door, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE Luke warm food that they have the nerve to make you make reservations for👀! This is Mexico for Pete's sake!! Salt and Pepper is readily available!! Luke warm warm jacuzzi in the Adult only (at times) pool since they are scared to enforce no children consistently! Only two jets I'm the whole heated pool work and people stood at those for hours!! The buffet is a joke.. I cannot even!! I mean YUCK! Room service is $5 for only to get more of the awfulness from the buffet! IF you want bacon for breakfast, you better ask because it is none existent otherwise! They hoard it like it's gold! The food is undercooked and cold all the time in the restaurants and Lord the poolside grill!! 🤦🏽♀ No one wears gloves! NOONE!! Not to mention when you personally ask for hot food, they look at you like it's a bother!! REALLY! They need to know what a frozen drink looks like because none were frozen! The poolside offerings were always cold when you received them because there were no food covers! The BEST thing about this resort is the Hibachi restaurant, Ayami. All of the food was Hot and the entertainment was hilarious!! We should have come here every night for dinner because the Italian. Mexican, and the Grill restaurant were just awful! We have stayed all over Cancun and decided to try Cabo since this resort was economically friendly! We certainly got what we paid for! When you have to ask for ICE because there are no ice machines and the constantly losing hot water to shower; it's a whole different ball game! I have never been so ready to go in my life! Thank God we ventured off the resort or we would have starved at our ALL-INCLUSIVE!! JUST HORRIBLE the ocean views were stunning but so is every hotel along the sand stretch! Bye Krystal Grand! Never Again!!

STAY AWAY!!!! HORRENDOUS!

To start, we arrived at Krystal Grand Los Cabos on Saturday November 19th, 2022 an all inclusive resort around 4:30 pm their time for our honeymoon. They knew of our arrival, yet our room was not ready until 7:30 pm. So, we waited around with nothing to do while our room was being cleaned. Once our room was ready, we were taken to the 4th floor of the resort. This was the first issue. We had asked for an ocean front room. I told her I wanted to be able to walk out onto the beach. 4th floor is not ocean front. While we had a view of the ocean, that was the extent of it. We had to walk to the beach once we took the stairs or elevator down to the bottom floor. The resort also misplaced my luggage. I texted my travel agent and told her the issue. She said I was in the wrong room and to not stay in that room as I did pay for Ocean Front walk out. She tried emailing them and calling them and they told her that they put us in the right room. They call rooms with a view, ocean front. They refused to move us to a bottom floor room and just kept trying to upgrade us. I wasn't paying more for a room I was under the impression I had already paid for and had. We also found out shortly after the issue with the room and luggage, that there was no place to have dinner. They closed the buffet at 3 and reservations must be made for dinner between 11 and 3 every day by standing in line in the foyer to sign up. Seeing as we did not arrive to the resort until 4:30 pm, this wasn't possible. They had a café open, so we decided to go get a snack there since we were told we couldn't have dinner because we didn't make a reservation. Unfortunately, when we arrived at the café, they were out of food and were only serving coffee! No juice, no pastries, no sandwiches, nothing. Nothing they had displayed on the board was available. The next morning, we awoke early and went to find breakfast at around 7:30 am. They had the buffet open which had very limited food and service was horrendous. I asked 4 different people for coffee and grapefruit juice, and no one brought us anything. So, we went up to the café again instead to get coffee and juice and pastries. Our walk to the café included stepping over drunk people on the floor of the resort in the FOYER and stepping over vomit. 8 am the cafe had nothing again. Just coffee and two types of yogurts. They had nothing that was displayed on their board. The resort was trashed from the day before. Cups and food in the pools. Trash all over the resort. I couldn't get towels for our room. They never came to clean. I had to beg for toilet paper and towels, and I only got them the one day I asked. Wanting clean towels, and a clean room isn't much to ask. It's standard service even when it's not an all-inclusive resort. By noon every day the music was obnoxiously loud, blasting obscene music that I was begging to leave the resort for some peace and quiet. All the bars don't open until 11. And they were out of everything as well. Only serving margaritas. The hot tubs were broken. All of them! When we finally made it to dinner the evening of our second night there, they had more than half the menu crossed out because it wasn't available. And the menu was small to begin with. The food was atrocious, and service was horrible. Upon going to sleep that evening our neighbors next to us had some drunk lady banging on their door at 3 am. It woke us up. We could hear our neighbor yelling at her to leave and go away but she wouldn't leave. Security was called but nothing was done. Finally, after her partner raised his voice, she left. Now, we were disturbed and awake. I was now feeling unsafe as this resort's rooms were accessible from the outside. There was no security, there is no gate at the front to stop civilians from coming in, everything was wide open for the public to be able to just walk into the resort and bother the guests. Which is exactly what happened. Locals daily showed up and just took over the resort. They were loud, rude and made a mess of the place. The next morning, we woke up to no hot water and again, a trashed resort with vomit on the ground. We went up to the café to get a coffee and see if they had food this time. Again, no food, just coffee. There was never anywhere to sit near the pools because of the lack of chairs and locals who took over. This place was anything but an all-inclusive resort. No one wanted to help or to fix any issues. The staff even tried telling my travel agent that they sent us fruit, strawberries and wine for our troubles. We saw none of that. Then on the third day, the day we demanded a refund and to leave, they tried to play games with us and told us they hadn't heard from our travel agent about our complaints or that we hadn't complained. We got tired of being in a filthy, unsafe " resort " with no food or hot water that we demanded a refund for the third time and needed to go somewhere else. After much demanding and back and forth with a manager who didn't want to help us because he kept saying it was a " holiday " (it wasn't) he had me fill out a form and told me we would get a refund in 2-5 business days. I told him to email it to me in writing, which he did. Whatever you do, DO NOT stay here. I don't know who owns this resort. I am told it is a Canadian company. They need to get out of this business. They don't know how to run an all inclusive resort. We are paying a lot of money. Do yourself a favor and go stay at Garza Blanca 15 min up the street. That's where we ended up spending the rest of our honeymoon. They are fantastic.

Change your reservation now! This is a zero star " resort. "

Run far away!! Change your reservation NOW!!! This is not an all-inclusive resort as there are no options available anywhere. A very poor selection of cold, bland, and the-same food selections daily. Zero variety with limited availability. For example, three days of no whip cream for children's hot cocoas. Room was stocked with two water bottles for four people. We asked for two additional bottles and was told they are $8.00 each. No baked goods in coffee shop as advertised. Not once in the seven days for breakfast. Not even a slice of bread for breakfast or sandwich for lunch. After dinner, we saw stale sandwiches in the case and wondered where they were recycled from as they weren't available for lunch. The coffee in coffee shop was limited to two cups per visit so one person couldn't get coffee for our room in the morning. On the day of our arrival, we had no place to eat at 4:15 as restaurants closed at 5 for dinner and wouldn't take another table. We argued stating our children were hungry and was told there will be a buffet at 6:30. We could order room service for an extra $5.00. The alcohol selections were very poor and extremely limited. There was no whiskey available during the seven day stay. They ran out of pina colada mix on day two and never replaced. Wine options were worse than communion wine given at a second grader's celebration. Dinner reservations were almost impossible to get with limited options nightly. They only had 90 / 120 person restaurant reservations for a 400 plus room resort. One of the restaurants were closed daily. All others were sent to the crowded buffet with cold and limited food. Bar service at beach was slowwwww with a very limited bland lunch menu. When food arrived, it was cold and soggy. There was only ONE salt / pepper shaker for the entire dining room / buffet area. We had to wait for it daily and it was immediately removed. Tables weren't cleaned in buffet area between families. We told to sit at a table with food from previous guests. The tables didn't have table clothes or matching silverware. The food was cold and limited with no variety daily. Breakfast buffet was the only option for breakfast. No variety and cold food. Only had bacon / sausage for two of the seven days. No tortillas for quesadilla or rancheros on multiple days. Multiple days food availability was limited and children couldn't have food between 10-12. There were no snacks available. No chips, pretzels, or munchies for children. Limited fruit options as we didn't see a banana, strawberry, or orange all week. There were only three bath towels in room for a four person reservation. Had to call daily and beg for another towel. This occurred daily. No wash clothes available and only one hand towel was available. Three days without hot water. When we went to complain we were told " 10 minutes " and that was another 24 hours. Run far away from this place. It is below minimum standards. Motel 6 with a restaurant / bar is far superior. During the seven days, there was only one night with " entertainment " and this was a 10 minute show with fire dancers who lost the fire within 4 minutes. Workers tried their best to serve but management and operations are extremely poor. I wouldn't recommend this hotel if the stay was free.

At most a 3 star

Review of Krystal Grand Los Cabos. I don't usually write reviews, but feel that I should, this time. This will be a long one. We recently spent 7 nights at the resort. Myself and my husband, together with my 97 yr old father, from Alberta, meeting my brother and sister in law, from the US, at the above resort. It was the worst resort experience I've ever had. We've been to over 25 all inclusive resorts in Mexico, Cuba, Jamaica and Costa Rica. Sunwing had listed this as a 4 star resort. My rating would at most be a 3 star. According to our on site Sunwing rep Jorge Maganda, this resort caters mostly to locals, and they arrive by the bus loads and " completely destroys the place ". While we were there, somebody had kicked out a 4th floor balcony glass, and broken pieces fell into the swim out pool on the ground floor. Luckily no one was hurt. Why is Sunwing booking customers to this resort? First off, let me say the staff try very hard to please and for most of them, are great. Let me list the pros: The resort itself is quite pretty. The layout is nice, easy to navigate. One of the rooms was for my 97 yr old father. When he checked in, we requested a stool / chair for him inside the shower. That was quickly accommodated. Of the a la carte restaurants, the Grill is truly the best. It has some good choices and wait staff provide good services. Located beside the beach afforded nice views during meals. And the cons: There are only 2 spots with AC where more than 2 people can sit around and socialize, play cards etc. The coffee shop and the vip lounge. Both are very small. And vip lounge is of course limited to Altitude club members, which thankfully we were. There were only 2 small round table in that lounge and a couch. Not inducive for sitting around and socializing. The week we were there the average day time temp was around 34C. So we actually spent quite a bit of time in one of our Altitude club rooms playing cards. This was a first for us since we don't usually stay in our room much during our vacays. The Sky Lounge (rooftop lounge for the Altitude club) offers a very nice view with its own bar. But there is absolutely no shade up there. I've noticed there are nobody up there during the day. Cannot lounge up there till after the sun sets. Also, the seating / lounging is completely not conducive to small groups to sit around to socialize. They are all for 2 people lying around. Alcohol for Altitude club members are supposed to have a better selection. But however, they were not replaced after the initial bottle was finished. Through the whole week, not replaced The Japanese restaurant was a total disappointment. The tepanyaki was ok. We had another regular meal there. First off, we were a group of 5 ppl. They refused to put 2 tables together to accommodate us. Made us sit at the sunken table, where my 97 yr old father had quite a bit of difficulty lowering himself to sit. Secondly, our server Carlos spilled water beside my father, didn't say sorry and didn't even wipe it up. The food was mostly drenched in soy sauce. Starters (salads) we ordered we have to share 2 person per dish, but didn't bring us extra dish. Mexican restaurant. Went there first time, had a very good experience. They pulled 2 tables together to accommodate our party of 5. We went there a 2nd time. They refused to put 2 table together for is out in the open area, insisted we be seated in a corner where there's no breeze. Restaurant is open air and no AC. So we sat in a corner and sweat thru dinner. So the sparkling white that was served there was pretty good and we all had that. Toward the end of dinner, most of us asked for a refill, and it was completely watered down! The buffet is very small and lacks variety. One curious thing is tho they do have green leaf salad, they do not provide salad dressings. I improvised and used salsa on my salad. One day our bottled water wasn't replaced in our room and I called to ask for more. Was told they will try to locate some for me. It wasn't untill I had to call again closer to midnight that somebody poor young chap, after another half hour, delivered 4 bottles of water to us. Bottled water, a necessity in all Mexican hotel. Our group of 5 occupied 3 rooms in the Altitude tower. When first checked in, one of the rooms had really dirty dusty floors and the bathroom counter was dirty. 2 rooms' safe doesn't work. Called front desk, responded fairly quickly. One of the safe was a quick fix. The other had to be completely replaced. Door locks. Got locked out of our room twice. Card lock doesn't work. First time the front desk gave me new cards which solved the problem. Happened again a couple days later. Had to wait around about half an hour for somebody to come and fiddle around the lock and finally fixed it. There was another guest, also from Sunwing, who had this happened to him I believe 6 times. He had spend many hours just waiting for his lock to get fixed during his week's stay. My recommendation? Stay away from this resort. Sunwing shouldn't book clients to this place.

Meh it was fine

This hotel definitely has some pros... unfortunately there are just as many cons. Check-in was fine, we ended up getting an upgrade to a swim up which was great and the kids had a blast being able to jump out of the room directly into the pool. They also had an absolutely amazing time with the girls at the kids club. The grounds are nice and the beach is gorgeous. The staff all seem to be hustling and were really trying but honestly it seemed like the hotel was not staffed to handle the amount of guests. Any request to front desk from bedding for the pull out bed for the kids to mini fridge re-stocks was a minimum of 2 calls down. We ended up having to share our room with some unwelcome critters that had settled in the bathroom. I get the warmer climate occasionally might make it tricky to keep the creepy crawlies out on the ground floor and if it was just one or two we probably would have just toughed it out but it's not super pleasant waking up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom to a gang of cockroaches skittering across the floor. They did offer to change our room out, which we did, but the roaches were adamant that they didn't want to stop the party and followed us over to the new room as well. The drinks were good and again the bartenders were all great but all frozen drinks were gone pretty early in the day and the swim up bar in the adult pool opened late a few times. The food was.... rough. There were a few things that were ok, the Mexican restaurant was bland but edible and the teppanyaki was good. The Italian was a mess and the breakfast buffet was incredibly limited and really not very good with crazy line ups by around 9 to get in. We usually just ended up grabbing a couple pastries from the cafe which was also pretty good (aside from the one instance with a fruit cup that had definitely turned). Overall it's a good thing we got a really good price on the resort because had we paid full price for it we would have been really upset. In this case we got what we paid for and the best way to sum it up would be " Meh it was fine ".

Terrible

We booked online and the pictures looked decent. We went to the from to check in and they said... ohhh your VIP, sent us downstairs in a room with 10 other people waiting to check I. They took our info and said come back at 3 for your room We came back at 3 and no rooms were ready for all 10 of us VIP 🙄 clients. We waited an hr more and the offers someone infront of us a double bed instead of queen. Mehem was starting in the small VIP room.. we grabbed our bags and requested our money back... we went over to the Dreams Hotel down the street and we're Sooooooo happy we did.. No comparison the hotels were night and day! And the dreams was only charging us $60 more that what Krystal was. Save yourself some grief and book elsewhere.

Amazing service

Krystal Grand has made many changes since our last visit in February 2023. They now offer a nice breakfast in the Grill for those staying in the Altitude ocean front rooms we loved the service provided by Manual. He went out of his way to ensure we got our meals just the way we liked them. The also have moved the Altitude VIP lounge to the Martini Bar. There you will get top shelf liquor and they or provide delicious snacks. Our favorite bartender there is Bruno. He was always welcoming and keep everything stocked. It is a nice edition. There is still the roof top bar where we spent our evenings with one of the best bartenders ever Hugo made delicious martinis and he always provided great service. Krystal Grand is very lucky to have him on their staff. Ruben and Tamara were so wonderful. For some reason, I could not get their reservation site to work on my phone so they made sure to hunt me down and make our reservations for dinner. I would also like to thank Leonardo, one of the waiters. As we are repeat visitors to Kristal Grand, he was working at the pool and when we walked by he remembered us welcomed us and made sure we had a reservation for our first dinner. He made us feel like we were coming home. The resort is very clean, the staff is mostly helpful. Of course Pedro at the pool bar is outstanding as usual. We will return again soon.

En general bien

El servicio de la alberca bastante maño, el mesero David con pésimo actitud, se le pedían cosas y todo el tiempo decía que no siquiera había comido, además cortaron el servicio de alimentos y bebidas a las 5 pm cuando era a las 6 pm

2023-07-13 01:00:41

Tristemente desepcionados

Stay away

This hotel is the worst, from the time we arrived, no A / C, refrigerator doesn't keep cool, the accommodations are definitely not what they showed and offered. Have been in the heat since we got off the airplane yesterday. They switched our room aland it new room and the A / C still does not work. This is not the hotel to stay at, I advise you stay far away from this place, please advise stick with the U. S. hotel chains you are used to like the hard rock or a big chain hotel like Marriott, Wyndamm or something along that where in the states we know that it is going to be a Quality room.

Goteras / A / C no funciona

No sirve nada, refri, teléfono, luz, Wi-Fi ". Es lamentable el servicio, el personal. Todo es viejo, las toallas de alberca, las almohadas. Te piden reservar en los restaurantes, sin embargo, con q hables con un capitán, no respetan las reservaciones. Está sucio y a una de las albercas le falta mantenimiento. Lamentable.

Horrible hotel

For very high price per night ($530) we got nothing. Very poor of buffet variety only few dishes to choose. Food test is horrible. As a gift has been given us $200 coupons, but impossible to use, because only one coupon per any service, like $10 off on spa procedure or bottle of vine. Price for service way high than other hotels same quality. Very poor customer service. App to make reservations for restaurant is not functional. Extremely unhappy with this hotel. Hardly not recommended for visiting.
