The Jordan Trail Guide is a local organisation, completely managed by a team from the local community who work on their own to support their families and children. The owner of the Jordan Trail Guide organisation is Essa Alammarin, a local guide. Jordan trail van Dana naar Wadi Rum
We hebben genoten van de Jordan Trail van Dana naar Wadi Rum. Wat een prachtige wandeling! Essa en zijn team hebben ons goed verzorgd, alles werd perfect geregeld. Het was fijn om een lokale gids te hebben die het gebied goed kende en veel kon vertellen over het dagelijks leven in het gebied. We komen graag nog eens terug!
5-Day Hike from Wadi Dana to Petra
I recently completed a 5-day trek from Wadi Dana to Petra with Essa and the team at Jordan Trail Guide, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Everything ran smoothly, and I'm especially glad I chose Essa as my guide. He went above and beyond to make the trip memorable, taking us on the most scenic routes instead of the quickest or easiest paths. The effort was well worth it_the views were stunning. Essa and his team were incredibly attentive, ensuring we were comfortable and well cared for at all times. I always felt safe, and the level of organization was impressive. The food was great, and the hiking route itself was spectacular_challenging in the right ways and rewarding throughout. If you're considering this trek, I can't recommend Essa and Jordan Trail Guide enough. It's clear they take pride in offering an exceptional experience, and they absolutely delivered.

We had an incredible trip! I can't recommend Essa and his brother enough. They go above and beyond to ensure you experience the very best of Jordan. I absolutely loved it and will definitely return for another adventure with Essa.
We had an absolutely amazing time & local experience with Essa & Ahmed!
My mom and I hiked the complete Jordan Trail by ourselves. We met Essa on our way from Dana to Wadi Malaga. We chatted for a couple of minutes (his English is really good!) and Essa invited us to the camp where he was staying with his Dutch tour group. We had dinner with them, spend the night there and eventually ended up hiking with the group for 3 days, all the way to Petra. Every night Ahmed (Essa's brother) and Basel (nephew) cooked a delicious meal for us. We had an amazing time! When we arrived in Wadi Musa we had to say good bye to the Dutchies. Luckily we would see Essa & Ahmed again soon! They were gonna provide us with water on days that there's no water available on trail. They did much more for us then just provide water. At the end of the day we would meet up with the guys at the wild camp. They made tea, brought two cold cans of cola for us and cooked delicious meals. Luxury! We had a lot of fun together, playing music, dancing, and creating inside jokes. Those days of camping with Essa and Ahmed ended up being my favorite part of the whole Jordan Trail and I didn't want this adventure to end. But eventually our last day on trail arrived. At the finish line, the Red Sea, Essa and Ahmed awaited us with flowers, sweets and two cold coke's. Absolutely amazing to celebrate this special moment with two guys who in a short time became our dear friends. We still didn't have to say good bye though! We met up again in Shobak & Dana and had some more adventures together. We camped together for 2 more nights and were joined by friends and family. Basel was there as well, the golden trio was complete again! And then we had to go back home and say good bye. Dear Essa and Ahmed, thank you so much for everything you did for us and the amazing local experiences. I absolutely loved to see how passionate you are about your country, your work and way of life. We will miss you and hope to see you again. Know you're always welcome to stay with us in The Netherlands, then it's our turn to show you around :) Yalla yalla! With love, Moja
Onvergetelijke weken met Essa-Ahmed-Basil!
Mijn dochter Moja en ik liepen vanaf half maart 2024 de Jordan Trail en kwamen na een lange afdaling door de allermooiste Dana-vallei aan bij de Eco Lodge. We ploften bezweet neer op een bankje bij de Eco Lodge om wat te chillen. Essa kwam naar ons toe om een praatje te maken en de klik was er meteen. Hij nodigde ons uit om 3 dagen met een groep vakantievierende Nederlanders mee te wandelen. Hun route door de Wadi Ghuweir zou mooier zijn dan de JT variant en we zouden vanzelf weer op de JT terecht komen. Leuk! We vierden 3 superleuke dagen met elkaar. Dankzij Essa liepen we de prachtige route door Wadi Ghuweir, kampeerden we op mooie locaties in Bedouin-tenten, genoten we van heerlijke maaltijden die zijn broer Ahmed en neef Basil bereidden, dansten we op vrolijke Arabische muziek en wandelden we van Little Petra naar Petra. Wat een feest! Gelukkig hoefden we na 3 dagen geen afscheid van het Gouden drietal Essa-Ahmed-Basil te nemen. Essa en Ahmed zouden een aantal 'waterdroppings' tijdens onze JT verzorgen. Hoe ging dat? Moja en ik liepen de etappes van de trail en als we op onze 'wild camp' locatie aankwamen, troffen we Essa en Ahmed met shesha op kleden en matten in de schaduw van hun Toyota Hilux. Het vuurtje brandde, potje thee erop en... 2 koude colaatjes voor Moja en mij. Op een hete dag toverden ze zelfs ijsjes tevoorschijn. Hoe verrassend leuk en lekker is dat!!! 's Morgens vroeg stond er steeds weer een goed ontbijt voor ons klaar. Luxury! Moja en ik waren na elke traildag zo blij om onze vrienden Essa en Ahmed te zien. We hadden zoveel plezier met elkaar, de sfeer was vrolijk, ontspannen en gezellig. Ahmed blonk uit in (droge) humor, liet vrolijke muziek horen, overgoot ons met gezelligheid en verwende ons met zijn kookkunsten. Essa, net zo lief als Ahmed, was wat serieuzer, gaf goede tips, had de beste ideeën, vertelde veel en zorgde goed. Bij Aqaba werden we op het strand door de jongens met bloemen, confetti, taart en colaatjes opgewacht. Wat een fantastische verrassing na ons geweldige avontuur. Gelukkig hoefden we nog steeds geen afscheid van Essa en Ahmed te nemen. Na de Jorden Trail keerden we terug naar het gebied rondom Dana en Petra. We struinden door een mooie vallei, lachten veel, genoten van een heerlijke lunch met een view en kampeerden met neven en vrienden. Basil kookte, Ahmed klauterde als berggeit op slippers tegen rotsen op en riep dan 'easy!', de jongens zongen en dansten en Essa vertelde veel en zorgde dat alles op rolletjes verliep. En toen moesten we terug naar Nederland en afscheid nemen van Essa en Ahmed. Bah! Het liefst hadden we hen in onze rugzakken mee naar huis willen nemen. Lieve Essa en Ahmed, bedankt voor ALLES!!!! Je zijn echt een GOUDEN duo en met Basil erbij een GOUDEN trio! Voor wie dit lezen: Mocht je ook met Essa, Ahmed en Basil op pad gaan, geef de jongens een knuffel van ons en geniet voor 100% van het mooie Jordanië en deze leukerds! Yalla, yalla! Essa, who runs Jordan Trail Guide, is outstanding! Essa is reliable, knowledgeable, friendly and his English is great. If Essa says he will take care of something you can feel confident that it will happen! Essa is a local who knows a lot of people. You can tell he is liked and respected by the locals that you encounter. He is a hard worker and so, so proud of Jordan. He makes your experience all the better with his love of country and willingness to share his life with you. I highly recommend Essa and his guiding services.
Beautiful trek from Dana to Petra, with Essa
We had a wonderful time with Essa and Ahmed. Beautiful walk, from Dana to Petra. The food was delicious, we had great evenings around the fire and watching stars, which Essa knows very well. Essa and his brother Ahmed have organised this trek very well, flexible and patient, it is just very relaxing and interesting to spend time with them.

I'm delighted to write a review for Essa our guide we had in Jordan. We did and 8 days tour from Dana-Petra, Wadi Rum and ends in Amman. Essa was incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic, making the entire experience captivating. His in-depth understanding of Jordan's history and culture enriched our journey significantly.
