Great cafe for painting ceramics, foam or mosaics

My daughter (aged 8) and I visited in the school holidays when we in Canterbury for the day and the rest of our family were having hair cuts opposite. Lots of choice of ceramics, toys for little ones to play with and a garden. What was lovely about it was the relaxed atmosphere. There was plenty of time to complete your projects and even have a cup of tea and a snack. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly and I would have no hesitation recommending this place.

Wonderful afternoon

We took our 4 young children (inc Autistic son) and it was an amazing fun filled afternoon! Had fun choosing and painting our figurines and Gail was very lovely and helpful. After our children finished Gail got them out a farmyard set to play with while we finished our paintings. Will definitely go back!

The perfect space for creative ventures!

I have been using Espression Art Cafe since March 2016 to host a monthly networking event and what a find it has been! Catherine is a perfect host and nothing is too much trouble. I am now a frequent visitor and use the cafe to also host my workshop events and when I just want to grab a coffee and work on my laptop. I love the atmosphere of the place and with free wifi and great coffee, what's not to love? They run amazing workshops and I think it is a fantastic hub for the community. I love running my workshops and meet up events there - for me 10 / 10.

Great way to spend a Saturday afternoon!

Had a great time with friends drinking lovely tea and being creative.... my 11 year old son and his friend loved it too.... great atmosphere and lovely place to while away the hours. The staff are so welcoming and helpful... This was my third visit with a group of friends and I'm looking forward to next time.

Amazing!

We had such a brilliant time pottery painting! My partner and I said that next time we will go on our own (without four year old daughter) so we can relax and spend more time painting. Lovely choice of colours and ornaments, helpful staff, lovely coffee and even the outside loo was clean and smelled devine!

Really helpful!

We had a great visit to this fantastic art and pottery studio. The owner was very welcoming and had a lot of time for our 6 year old daughter, she went out of her way to make the experience really enjoyable. We had a relaxing fun afternoon and we even managed to get some good tips of where to visit in Kent over the next few days of our holiday! Definitely recommend!!

So much fun

We come here regularly to make presents for the grandparents. They are always a hit and the kids have a blast making them. Plus the coffee is really nice. Give it a go

Such a relaxing morning with my two little painters!

Such a hidden little gem right in the heart of Canterbury! The service they offer for the prices they charge is just amazing, so friendly, the owners sat down and chatted to the children about how it worked then simply let them get on! They could choose all the colours under the rainbow to paint with, and the items ranged from quite cheap to more pricey for large ornaments but you get what you pay for! We had a nice drink and sat at the table for as long as we wanted painting away, there was a little art club going on, a few students, and a birthday party but us three (me and 7 & 9 year old) where just left to peacefully get creative! I even got stuck in as it looked so much fun! A baby was in the corner doing a hand printed mug for Mother's Day with her father, then there where just two lovely chilled staff floating around seeming to make it all run like clock work! Once we had done our three coats of paint we payed and told we would get a call when ready! A child friendly coffee shop at last! P. s check out the garden if you do go!
