Sadly Disappointing

We tried ordering online via their website, but after entering all of our info it just kept spinning without completing. Now we'll have to make sure our account is not charged incorrectly. We then ordered by phone, which took multiple calls as the " mailbox was full " and we weren't even sure they were open as it was Memorial Day. We picked up our order to go, and were surprised to find the quality was significantly disappointing from what we remembered it as being over a year ago. The fried wonton appetizers were inedible and we couldn't find any filling whatsoever. The tempura shrimp were tiny and way over cooked. The salad rolls were tasteless and gummy, with unappetizing wedges of lettuce. The teriyaki chicken was bland and the yakisoba also gummy. The mango shrimp salad was tasty but strong, as was the green curry soup. Overall, the food was disappointing and not well-executed. We will not be back.

Disappointed

First, the food is OK. Not bad. Second? I will not go back. The customer service is lacking. I work in a service industry and I know that you do what you reasonably can to keep your customers business. They lost mine today. I get that a plate is a plate... designed for cost and pricing. But.... being a restaurant, substitutions are a thing everywhere else, but not here, apparently. It should be a no brainer to substitute the rice for noodles, even if it adds a buck. So what? You, being in business should both like and accommodate that request. There are other Thai restaurants in Vancouver.

Traditional... and Surprising

While I am not a fan of salad rolls, we did start out with one. It was well prepared and fresh, and came with a very nice peanut sauce. So, if this is your " cup of tea, " so to speak, I don't think you will be disappointed We had the Lek Nam Yum soup which has a lot of very interesting and tasty ingredients. While it is a hot and sour soup, it is less so in terms of what might be expected were this from a Chinese restaurant. The hot and sour aspect was modest and it had a sweetness about it. We ordered egg noodles with it, as an option, and optioned a mild spice. The first spoonful will be surprising, in that it is " different. " After a couple of spoonfuls, it becomes something you can't put down. The noodles and spices in the ingredients in the soup are just fabulous. I can't wait to have it again. And we did have the traditional Pad Thai, and ordered extra pork with it for a very modest cost. The option of ordering an extra portion of meat for us was great in that it made this into a meal that was very much for two people, or for an additional meal for one. Or in our case for lunch the next day. This Pad Thai was very good. The rice noodles were terrific and the included spices and condiments added a good deal to it. We previously have had lunch at Eight Noodles, but this was our first dinner and we did do " carry out. " Other than the salad roll, the food was very hot and did not require re-heating when we were ready to have it. As well, while we were told it would be ready about 20 minutes from our online order, it was ready before that time and was picked up as soon as I entered the restaurant about 10 minues later. This restaurant has inside seating but given the VIRUS, one would have to check to see if this is operative when one has an interest in having its food. And I did note that they had tables with food on it for pickup by the typical delivery services... though I did not use them.

Incredibly rude owner

I ordered pho, which came without oyster sauce or sriracha on the side as in other restaurants. I saw a rack with the sauces on a side table and picked it up, and the owner screamed at me, " THAT'S NOT FOR YOU! PUT THAT DOWN! " The server was embarrassed and brought me another rack with sauces. On the way out, the owner tried to make eye contact with me and thank me. I looked her right in the eye and said, " You are very rude. I will never eat here again. "

Always Great

We've eaten here many times since moving to Salmon Creek 2 years ago, sometimes eating in and sometimes orders to go. Food is always great.... fresh, healthy, well prepared and great flavors. Service is good and prices reasonable.

Consistently good

We go to Ei8gt Noodles about once a month and have found the service and food consistently good. My partner favors the Pad Thai. I like the pho and a lemon grass based soup that is delicious. A small friendly restaurant with a cheerful staff.

Good place for fresh Thai food, but stick to the Pho

Stopped in here for a quick bite after a long day on the road, and overall it was a good experience. The food is very fresh and preparations are more healthy than a lot of Thai eateries. My wife had a soup, which was very, very good - not overly salty like they usually are and not gushy like the veggies have been cooking in it all day. I had the drunken noodles, but they were kind of meh, and the reason for a 3 instead of 4 star overall rating. They were just pretty bland with just noodles and some sort of ground meat interspersed within. I spiced it up with the chili oil, but the dish still could have used more color / garnish.

Fine Food and Quick Too

Some friends of ours who are local recommended this place, and took us to dinner there. We are happy they did. We ordered separate entrees, then asked for them to be served family style. All the food was tasty. The food was served quickly. The only mild misstep is that they may not have served the tea flavors we requested. We would recommend it with no hesitation.

Not your average Asian place

While this sits in the Fred Meyer strip, it isn't a " fast food " place. The ambiance is relaxed and somewhat sparse. The choices are predominantly Thai and heavily herb spiced, which we both love. Lots of basil and cilantro. Both our meals were very good. The service was excellent. We will be back to try other menu choices.

Class Act

8noodles replaced a favorite spot, the Bamboo Hut. I really wanted to try this place. The menu has some similarities but truly is different in good ways. The presentation of dishes was quite artful. The food freshly prepared. A Thai food focus, but delicately prepared elevating their dishes above other nearby Thai cuisine. The value was equal to quality and quantity. For a small cafe, the atmosphere was calm, clean and inviting. I hope more people will visit and keep this eatery profitable and long standing.

Ok

First time at Eight Noodles the last night. My family goes there a lot for the Pho soup. We had 8 people. Ordered spring rolls, egg rolls, and fried won tons for appetizers. The spring rolls are rather thick and the tofu is a slab instead of thin slices within the veggies. You only get three very small egg rolls so there wasn't enough for everyone to try. I got the pad Thai and it was ok. Not the best I have tasted but nothing really wrong with it either. My husband ordered teriyaki chicken with yakisoba and they forgot his meal. We all were practically finished with our meals before he got his. He did like it once he got it though. Server was nice but had the whole restaurant to serve so refills were slow to get. Populate spot right next to Fred Meyer.

Tasty food - not always served Hot

We enjoy 8noodle, good food although it is served on cold plates and the food is cold. The taste is great and the prices are a little high for the amount of food you receive. You could leave hungry. I would not take family of friends to 8noodle unless the little things were improved. Service is weak, not enough help, restaurant is cold on raining days and the food is served cold. i hope they are able to fix the little things that made a restaurant great.

Excellent, healthy Asian Food

Informal, pleasant environment. Menu items individually prepared when ordered. Excellent pot stickers, pad thai, satay, etc. Cheerful servers. Frequent often.

Good place for a quick meal

Stopped in late one evening and found the place empty - but service and the food was quick & good. Probably best for take-out or a quick meal.
