Frustrating, annoying, and disappointing
Very disappointing and frustrating. My group of 17 people came at 10PM on May 10, 2024 and the restaurant are half empty. WE WERE CHASED OUT. We explained 4 times if they can accommodate 17 people. We told them we're ordering family-style and paying per tables and we were informed it will be difficult for their kitchen to accommodate our family-style orders. Apparently the empty 7 tables (12seaters) are all reserved so we can't use it. We asked if we can use 4 table (6seater 2X and 4seater 2X) but we were told they rather give the tables to other " paying customers " who might come. We were CHASED OUT apparently WE ARE NOT " PAYING CUSTOMERS ". Luckily Ken's Restaurant in Ellice were able to accommodate our group of 17 people. I don't know why is it hard to understand why we can't get tables in Dimsum Kingdom. If 5 people came in they would have given 6seater table - my group just happened to come in at the same time.
Very disappointing. Placed
Very disappointing. Placed our order through DoorDash at 12:30 for delivery between 5:30-6pm. Didn't arrive until 6:20pm... then it was COLD. The beef and vegetables chow mein looked nothing like the picture that featured broccoli, carrots and celery. When I opened the container, it looked like just plain noodles. The beef & sauce were all at the bottom, as was the Gai Lan. I had to dump the entire thing into one of my own containers to mix it all together. The dim sum dumplings were very good but all in all, it was overpriced for what we got.
Poor Customer Service
Was at this restaurant yesterday at noon, went for dine in and was told to leave the restaurant because it was only open for groups of 10 people or more although there were people sitting and dinning who were less than 10. Tried to reason with the waitress but she insisted on getting a take out, after my friend and I left we called them the very next minute and was told that they are open for dine in (even if it's just 2 people), went back in and dined. The waitress was still there and she didn't even have the courtesy to come to us and apologise for the inconvenience or whatsoever, her behaviour was rude and seemed like she doesn't know what customer integrity is. All in all food is great for the price but lacks in " CUSTOMER SERVICE "
Chinese New Year's
The flavors were delicious. The choy mein was really good. We ordered the lemon chicken which was battered really well. They forgot the Lemon sauce but it was still good. My only real complaint would be there was too much onion on the ginger beef and the pan fried shrimp. Will definitely order from there again
Skip the dishes experience with dim sum garden
First time customer both with restaurant and skills the dishes. it was a positive experience. We really enjoyed the food. Definitely going to try this again. Free delivery over 30.
Good service and delicious food
This restaurant has changed its name to Dim Sum Kingdom, from Dim Sum Garden. Went for dim sum with my husband after work. Was a little nervous after reading some of the reviews because I hadn't been in a while but our food came out really fast and was piping hot. Food quality and portions was excellent. I kept commenting on how good the food was. We've been coming here for several years and it's been consistently good.
Dim Sum Lunch
One of the better places in Winnipeg to have dim sum. Good food Good service. Prices are reasonable and the diverse menu gives lots of options to choose from. I recommend this place for anyone that likes to explore different culinary experiences.
Wonderful family evening
This place was recommended by a member of our family and I was initially reluctant to go as the reviews, overall, were less than favourable but I am so glad we did! We ordered a lot of food for our party of 9 and it came out very quickly, was beautifully presented and all very delicious. We had a most enjoyable evening out with our family whom we don't see often. Highly recommended!
no service or food
The service was beyond slow. Took us 3 orders to get a water. 75mins later we only received one order of rice and a single order of dumplings. The staff couldn't of cared less.
Worst service
Two of us sat down for dim sum, ordered 8 items. It took over an hour to get an order of sticky rice and one order of dumplings. I wish I could rate the food but never got it. Overall, there are 4 million better restaurants than this place.
Lovely late lunch
Before going to Dim Sum Garden on Pembina I read the reviews and there were good ones and not so good ones. My daughter and I decided to take a chance and we were very happy we did. The food was very good, fresh, tasty and reasonably priced. I will definitely return!
Fresh and always hot!
My wife and family have been coming here for a long time we always have enjoyed the dim sum usually started with a delicious huge bowl of hot and sour soup which I highly recommend. there's is always some to take home We always find the waitresses very helpful, sometimes communication is difficult but it's part of the process. we've tried a few main meals here in the evening and we do not always find that they're up to the level of the dim sum, so we stick to that. I would recommend this place as good place to try dim sum. The price is-always reasonable
Stay Away
Extremely rude customer service. Misleading menu and owner / manager / waitress does not want to accept their mistakes, instead get mad at you when confronted. We have had better Chinese food at much cheaper prices, at much cleaner place and had pleasant customer service. Place is not so clean, dishes or utensils aren't clean so not sure how dirty the kitchen might have been. Did not feel welcomed at all. First and last time going there. Definitely not recommend anyone and will advice friends and families to stay away from this place. Horrible experience.
Consistent Quality
Eat there at least once a week. Dim sum is always fresh and the quality is ALWAYS consistent. The service is excellent as the regular servers meet you at the door with a smile. The are fast at bringing you the picture menu and your order paper. They are quick to pick it up and the kitchen gets to work. The restaurant has a system where your table and order are put into the computer. This results in getting the orders always correct and when you go to pay your bill it as super easy as they just enter your table number and your bill is magically there. Prices are very reasonable but that's not why you should visit, you should visit because it's just so yummy!
Disappointment
After many years of going to Dim Sum Garden on Rupert, we were excited by a S Winnipeg version on Pembina Hwy. Sadly, it isn't the same at all. The service was poor, and food luke warm, and we won't go back despite the price being better than others. After reading this, I have to change my rating.. down.
Good Dim Sum
The place was quiet on a Wednesday for dim sum. No roaming carts but by order. The selection is not great but ok. The quality is about B+. Authentic but some minor misses. The place seems very tired. They have two other locations.
Don't eat here
I have been to this restaurant several times over a number of years. Recently I noticed that it is not what it used to be. Not sure if there is new ownership or something else. The service is HORRIBLE. The staff are very rude, no smiles and look as if they do not want to be there. The quality of the food has declined as well. I will never go back!!!!

Quick service. Hot food. wife really likes dim sum. Lots of variety to pick from. Can pick dim sum food types, or the regular Chinese dishes.

yes. food was so so old and dry. A Server was very rude. I had ever see very very rude server in the World. When I like to ordering something, she just left and looked around the other side. I will never come back.

Same as the one downtown frozen dim sum nothing made fresh other then the service being faster and I got my food. Would recommend going to any other dim sum restaurant if you actually enjoy dim sum. If you are looking to try dim sum come here it will ruin it for you.
Delicious as always!
Fantastic little restaurant that serves terrific Dim Sum. Everything is served hot and fresh and we have never been disappointed with the quality of food served here. Service is attentive, this location is always clean and the prices are good. Call ahead to find out when their " Happy Hour " is - as the prices of the dishes are even cheaper!
Saturday lunch
Stopped into Dim Sum Garden yesterday for lunch and was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness of the restaurant and food quality. Coming from Toronto, I am spoiled at the choices and quality of Chinese restaurants but I have to put yesterday's delight right up at the top tier. Best Hot and Sour soup ever Chicken feet were delicious Cumin lamb was mouth watering Curried squid was scrumptious Definitely will return
Really great Dim Sum!
My husband and I have been here a couple times and have really enjoyed the dim sum, so delicious! It's close to home too which is an added bonus. It's a great deal if you go when they have their happy hour. We'll definitely be back.
Family Dim Sum
I came to dim sum garden with my significant other and my family. We ordered wor wonton soup and a bunch of different dim sum. We had shark fin, Pork dumplings, deluxe pork dumplings and steamed shrimp. Dim sum tasted good. The order came out really quick and the service was good. Ambiance and decor were sufficient. I would recommend others come I would come again.
Dim sum heaven
Our go to dim sum in Winnipeg. Fast friendly service. Serves both excellent dim sum and Chinese dishes off the menu. Might be a bit of a wait on weekends, cheaper dim sum during happy hour.
OKAY OVERALL BUT NOTHING MEMORABLE
Our first outing to this fun little Dim Sum restaurant and likely merits are return visit. The service was efficient but I would never accuse them of being overly engaging. Pleasant but very business-like. The menu selection is reasonable but the pictures don't always equate to what arrives at the table. I was very pleased at how attentive they were to ensuring our waters were always topped up and the tea pot was never empty. On the other hand, when we asked for some servings of the hot chili oil, that took several reminders. We had a wide selection and for the most part they were tasty but even from dim sum, the portion size was adequate, not generous. A few of the dishes we enjoyed include the sticky rice, pork ribs and the pork balls. They were very tasty but nothing really stood out. So if we were in the area we would likely go back but on the other hand, would not go out of our way for a return visit. A solid 3.

Just finished eating here best dim sum I've had in Canada.. At lunch the place was packed and rightly so.. Very authentic and extremely flavourful.. Every dish was really great.. Highly recommend this place and I can't wait to come back KB
Good food, good value
Good dim sum, descent variety to choose from. Pretty cheap - we never left there more than $35 for a family of 4 (2 adults+2 hungry kids). Quick service. The only downside is the noise - something is messed up with the ceiling design, so it sounds very noisy even when there are a few people in the place. Plus they have this annoying door bell that rings every time people come in and out.
