The sweet people of Bacolod love their cakes. Calea is reputed to be one of their best shops. They deserve better.
Maybe not the best anymore
So many cakes and maybe with the Philippine standards becoming higher, I don't think this is the best anymore. The cheesecake was obviously not made with real cheese: they added something to make it overly sour not like real cream cheese with a slightly tangy taste. The chocolate used was not the good quality kind, often a problem with local Filipino desserts. Happy to see the shops bustling with tons of clients though and one cake each. If you compare it to Manila prices, it's a lot cheaper but the quality is also a lot lower.
SO OVERRATED! RUDE STAFF!!!
VERY VERY VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE! We understand it's Sunday, Family day. But there was this long table, that's empty and when we came and asked if we can occupy it, the servers told us it was reserved. We waited for other tables, and it has been like 30mins passed before we decided to just order for take away, we asked again the servers if we can still take the empty seats, as it has been half an hour passed, and no one came. And we're in a big group, with senior citizens with us. Minutes later, group of people that just came, was accomodated to the area, and split it to 2 tables, means it's not the who reserved the table. We approached the server and asked them, that we thought it was reserved, but it was given away to other people right away? she told us that the supervisor gave them the heads up to just give away the tables since the one who reserved didn't came. SHE EVEN TOLD US WE SHOULD HAVE APPROCAHED THE TABLE RIGHT AHEAD FOR US TO BE SEATED!!!! BUT IN THE FIRST PLACE WE WERE THERE WAITING, LONG TIME TO BE SEATED AND NONE OF YOUR STAFFS ASSISTED US OR EVEN APOLOGIZED!!!!!! NO ONE!!!! No one even exerted an effort to atleast tell us SORRY!!!!! My siblings we're so ashamed that they recommended your place to us, since it's our first time visiting Bacolod. You should train your staff, not just providing cakes that are dry and too sweet. It's too overrated. Will never come back again.
CALEA... Bacolod's best tasting cake and sweets!
Calea is the best place in Bacolod to eat delicious cake and sweets. Every bite of the cake reminds me of my mother's sweets.
Good place
Place was nice, pastries were awesome, I tried the pecan pie twas so yummy. It complimented the Cafe Americano that I ordered. I actually returned the day after for my desert.

Everything is delicious, my local friend recommends Felicia but we prefer Calea, we wanted to try all their pastries, price is also reasonable.
Life is Sweeter in Calea
Visited the branch in Lacson, definitely a must place in BCD. Your BCD experience is not complete if you havent tasted cakes in Calea. Personal recommnetation, white chocolate cheesecake and brewed coffee.

Best cake ever!
Visited their Robinson's branch. There's not enough room. I think they should have a bigger place. I like their place along the Lacson St which is bigger and more appropriate for groups. I extremely love their triple chocolate mousse. Super creamy and yummy!. Lemon pie is also superb and a must-try! Mud pie is well-loved by kids. Carrot cake is also great. This is a must -try for everyone!

They have huge selection of pies and cakes. Can be overwhelming to make a decision :D But we ordered chocolate cake, white choc raspberry and more. Its all good.

Bacolod's sweet spot
For the longest time, locals keep telling visitors to never leave Bacolod without satisfying your sweet tooth at Calea, and it still is pretty much true today. Their mud pie and chocolate cake were a sweet reprieve from a so-so inasal dinner we had on our first night in the city.
All time favorite
It's a must-try for everyone!!! I especially love the carrot cake and the triple chocolate mousse. Mud pie is also great especially for kids. Sometimes the place is so crowded. Not a good place to read and relax but it's a good place to enjoy desserts with friends.
Dessert!
For dessert, everyone in Bacolod must go to Calea. And try to eat everything if you can! All we ordered was so good! Really had our sugar fix for the day. Yum!

Across the street from Felicia's, another dessert / cafe place is Calea. This place is always packed and there's always a lineup. Try their blueberry cheesecake and their choc cakes as well. Didn't even get a chance to look at the menu as they serve food too.

As in, parang fast food ang pila nang mga tao doon, when i taste there cake as in WOW! ang sarap talaga, i worked in a 5 star hotel sa cebu sa daming cake na natry ko, ito talaga yung napaka sarap as in.
Always with high standards
Calea is always a must visit whenever we go to Bacolod. Cakes are always good that we fly them out in boxes. Chocolate mud pie and blueberry cheesecake are favorites along with their apple pie and ube cake. Their place in balay quince is always packed up to late night for the sole purpose of dessert. Hoping they can also have light meals for afternoon snacks.

I only had 1 slice since we just ate a lot when we arrived in Calea, but I wish I had more. Price of 1 slice is affordable They have special boxes for 1 whole cake which you can bring in the plane. Will definitely visit again
Still Going Strong after All These Years
Offering a great range of freshly baked cakes with decent coffee, Calea remains one of the best cafes in Bacolod. It has many rivals these days where once it really was an oasis in the desert. Today we had Blueberry Cheesecake and Pecan Pie with cream... peerlessly delicious.

Best place to get your delicious cakes and pastries in Bacolod
This is a famous place in Bacolod because of its delicious cakes and pastries. We came here for afternoon coffee / tea and we enjoyed their cakes which we ordered in different slices. I particularly enjoyed their sans rival made out of pistachio nuts. Their selection of cheese cakes was equally good and tasty. Their coffee, which came in a variety of selections, were very good too. Service was nice and efficient. Prices were a bit high but may be worth it.
Mouth watering cakes!
For the obvious reason that this place is a well-known cafeteria not only in Bacolod but all over the country. They have wide variety of mouth watering cake choices and very affordable prices. Highly recommended and will visit again!

Sweetly good
Calea in Bacolod City is one of the sought after cafes where you can satisfy your sweet tooth. It has different kinds of cakes & pastries. The servings are big so i advice order one slice to be shared by 2 or 3. Or better yet, go there as a group so you can order different kinds & share it. Their chocolate cakes are just right... not that sweet but very rich that can satisfy a craving. Mud cake is also good for those who like chocolate melting in their mouths. If a little health conscious, try the pastry with walnuts. Their cheesecakes are good, too. If you are really on a strict diet, their good coffee will suffice. There are usually many people so be prepared to line up to order.
Great place for those with sweet tooth
All cakes looks yummy. With good ambience for a get together with friends. The place is very accessible by public transport and plenty of parking if you have your private transportation. We enjoyed our cup of coffee there.
My Guilty Pleasure
This is by far my favorite in Bacolod especially during the summer season. Nothing beats their ice cream cakes and I have tried them all. Always top of my list of places to visit when in the city.

Best Dessert Crawl!!
We were in Bacolod with the football team and family, and our host who is from Bacolod was able to plan our trip, mostly around food. Calea is located in an area where there is around 4 dessert places within a few steps of each other. However Calea was our first ever dessert stop of the trip and it did not disappoint, after a very heavy Inasal lunch, Calea was our dessert stop, and even those who though there was no room for dessert, made room because just how the cakes looked made your mouth water! My daughter almost cried because she was so confused on what to order, We settled for the Blueberry Cheesecake and an Icecream based cake that I forgot the name of! Both were soooo good. Everyone loved Calea that most of our group asked to pass by Calea before their flight back to Manila, just to take out cakes! The place got very crowded at night by the way!

Grabe! One of the best cakes in Philippines especially the cheesecake, pistacio and cashew sans rival, double chocolate. The cake is so creamy and ofcourse sweet but not overpowering. Its just disappointing that the costumer service is not that good well due to high demand there are too much customer I understand that but please train your staff to be friendly and nice. Will be back again for sure
Cheesecake madness
I'm not really a fan of cakes and sweets but my girlfriend begged me to bring her in this place since we were already in Bacolod and told me that this place is really famous for their cakes. I think I just ordered a coffee because I was still so full because of the dinner we had that night. However, my girlfriend ordered their cheesecake with blue jam (i think it's blueberry because i dont remember its name exactly). She then offered me to try a bite of her order where then hides the best part. The best part was the cheesecake itself. To my surprise, the cake didn't taste too strong ! It wasn't a sweet cake and the cheese base didn't have that very heavy, pure and 'entière' texture. It was really the closest to perfection ! And it was really melting as you put it in your mouth 🤦♂ By the end of our date, I bought 2 entire cheesecakes which we then brought as 'pasalubong' for our families way back in Pampanga😅

I would definitely give it a five stars if... 1) waitress actually pours water into our cups instead of dropping off a pitcher when we ask for more water (all of them seem too busy chit chatting by both counters) 2) they can write in " happy birthday " on the cake...
Sweet Tooth Haven!
This place is always packed with folks visiting the City but also with locals. I have been living here for more than 3 years already and they just keep on satisfying my cravings. I highly recommend the IMPORTED CHOCOLATE CAKE, TRIPLE CHOCOLATE MOUSSE, and BLUEBERRY CHEESECAKE. For first timers and coming in with a group, I suggest each will order one slice of different cakes and share it then decide what's on top of your list. If you are to buy whole cake to bring it back home, they charge extra for the hard box. Much better to get that just so your cake is protected when traveling.

Comforting Cakes of Calea!
This was on top of my itinerary but ended up last due to the rainy season. Braved the rain all the way from Campuestuhan to have a taste of their famous cakes. It was all worth it! We ordered for chocolate mudpie, white chocolate cheesecake, strawberry semifreddo, cafe mocha and hot choco. We loved that the mudpie wasn't too sweet. It's a cake ice cream. One of their bestsellers, the white chocolate was really delicious. Loved that the sweet part was separate from the main cake, strawberry semifreddo, also an ice cream cake was really tasty as well. The hot choco was not sweet, just the perfect combination for the cakes. We spent around 600 for 3 slices of cakes and 2 drinks. Not really bad. Just like a Starbucks meal but with tastier and wide selection of cakes. The place tend to be too crowded but don't make it stop you from trying their cakes!
Quite good tasted chocolate cake i have ever tasted
This pastries and restaursnt serves various kinds of chocolate cakes, fruit cakes and cheese cakes. I ordered most popular one, imported chocolate cakes with brewed hot coffee. The taste of cake here is unique, top layer is strong sticky platable sweet chocolate, the dark chocolate of the cake is not sweet at all and there is white plain cream in the middle. when drinking with hot black coffee, it makes the taste perfect mingle. The waitresses are keeping busy but very friendly to help me with my order.
Sweet treat
A great choice for getting a sweet treat with a wide range of cakes, came highly recommended by family who live locally. The main branch is located on Lacson Street opposite the L'Fisher hotel, there are smaller outlets in the Robinson's and SM Malls. We chose brownies and they were excellent.
A paradise for the sweet-toothed!
Calea is definitely the most famous pastry shop in Bacolod City. It has more than one branch in the city, but the one located along Lacson Street is the biggest and most frequented. I've recently tried their pecan cake and matched it with a cafe espresso con panna. Lovely! This cake is just one of the many you can choose from at Calea. It's a real paradise for sweet toothed people like me. The place does get full especially at night, so try to go there early if you want to get a seat. There are both indoor and outdoor seats. The ones inside are more comfortable because of the air-conditioning system. Highly recommended!
Chocolate cake!
I went to Calea for some iced coffee and chocolate cake. Mygosh, it was so hard to choose which cake I want but I had to go with the bestseller. Of all the dessert places, I liked this the most. It's such a cute place! I love how the door says, " Eat more cake. " Also, I think they have the best variety of cakes and the biggest slice. :)

The best cake shop in Bacolod!
🍰Calea is Bacolod's very own homegrown cakes and pastry shop. If you are a first-timer tourist in Bacolod and tried searching in google for your trip, its impossible that Calea won't appear in the recommended shop to try. Support local gaming is too strong that you will rarely spotted the popular cafes here in Manila. And even when we were heading back in Manila and got on to our plane, most of the passengers had a Calea cake box with them. We tried two ice cream cakes which were sooooo yummy. My friend ordered the vanilla with chocolate on top (not sure what's the name of it), and took a bite and it was good. Then I tried the berry mix ice cream cake which I was hesitant at first because I'm not so into berry flavors except blueberries but since the staff recommended it, I gave it a try. And yeahhhh surprisingly I loved it! Even André was satisfied. Lasty, the chocolate mousse cheesecake which has a very good texture, not too sweet and had a very balanced taste. For a baker like me, this shop was definitely a wow for their products' taste, quality, presentation and price. Also, they have a wide range of cakes and ice cream cakes displayed which made me drool that I wanna try them all. The only thing I wanted them to improve is to put the pastry names so its easier when customers are ordering. We need to wait for someone to assist us because we don't know the name and need to point it out one by one.
The Best White Cheesecake!
You never went to Bacolod when you did not try any of Calea's Cake. It is the most famous pastry shop in Bacolod and is also known all over the country. Calea is almost synonymous to a Bacolod vacation. Let me say this straight, white Cheesecake is to die for! Topped with grated cheese with strawberry filling at the side, this cake is one of the best that I have tried. Its a complete Bacolod experience when you tasted Calea's white cheesecake. I almost wanted to bring it back home but the bulkiness of the box prevented me to do so. Aside from the White Cheesecake, we also ordered Chocolate Mud Pie and Chocolate Cake (for comparison purposes with Felicia's) and both are equally good. Their cakes are overwhelming! There are so maaaaannnnyyyy to choose from. I do wish their cakes were labeled and priced. It IS amazing though how the servers memorize every single cake on display and the details of each cake. Service is a bit slow but maybe that's because the place is usually full and busy. I loved their Chocolate Mud Pie! The cake slices are also very affordable!
Cakes are awesome
This would be a must to visit when in Bacolod City. If you're looking for cakes, this is the right place. When I'm her, I always orders for the mango cake. Right sweetness, exact flavor of mango.
After all these years, they are still the best when it comes to desserts
First time I dined here was in 2001 when I was assigned for work in Bacolod. it was the best back then. Then last month I went for vacation in Bacolod and went back here for desserts. They have big portions of cakes and they are really heavy. The cakes I tried have a good balance of sweetness and flavor. I'd say the cakes are a good value for money. tip: If you want to bring some home to Manila, reserve a day before and ask them to pack it in a hardbox (for a minimal cost). if you do now have a big fridge in your apartment or hotel, then pick it up on your way to the airport and hand carry it.

when i visited my friends in bacolod, they brought me here. though one of my friends already recommend me this. and i'd say they did not disappoint my taste buds. their cakes were very very pleasant to taste. no wonder why it is always crowded with costumers! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😋😋😋

Very good place for Desserts
This review is for the branch at the District. Went here with my brother and had two kinds of Cheesecakes. Both were really good and of good quality. The coffee was not bad either. Nice ambiance and good place to hang out. Prices are fair and cheaper for what you'd get in Manila.
To die for for Pecan Nut pie
This was an institution I was advised of by many so on the day I arrived from Manila and as it was conveniently located across the road from our hotel the LFischer we dropped in for morning tea. Morning Tea consisted of a plate of Pecan Nut Pie and Ice Cream which my wife and I shared and a lovely cup of coffee. Im not a real sweet tooth but the pie was one of the best I ever tried. Our female server was very timid and I suspect she was shy as perhaps she lacked confidence in her English skills. We popped back in the evening to listen to some lovely music played by a person with a disability.
Perfect for people with Sweet Tooth
As one of the most known pastry shop in Bacolod, we tried their mudpie cake and it was really good! Not too sweet, just right. The ambiance was cozy and the place is very light and clean to the eyes. It was a great experience.

The amount of choices was impressive but there was nothing the really stood out for us. Most of the choices were cheesecakes. The cakes were not too sweet. The restaurant does not stand out from the other buildings. We did not notice it the first time we passed by it. When we were looking for it, we missed it and had to retrace our steps to find it. The branch along Lacson St. at Balay Quince is in front of L'Fisher Hotel. The service was slow. We were the only customer at that time and we ordered four slices of cake and three drinks. Yet, our order took more then 20 minutes to be served. (Nevertheless, this was not unique to Calea_all restaurants that we tried in eating in Bacolod was generally slower than what we were used to back in Manila.) They accept credit cards.
Heaven in every bite!
My go to place if i want to eat cake…Their Triple Chocolate Mousse is on top of my list heck I can have two in one sitting :) followed by the Mud Pie (which is a bit big so i share it with my sis)... They also serve sandwiches & drinks. A must visit place when you go to Bacolod.
Great cakes!
I am not a fan of sweets but when I tasted their cakes, I wanted to taste more the different flavors they offer. The taste is just perfect. It was not too sweet but flavorful instead. We bought a whole cake to bring home. They can also box it up if you need to bring it to the plane with you. I loved their White Chocolate Cheesecake.
Heavenly desserts
This is a place I keep returning to. The cakes and pastries are so delicious that I keep returning to Caleo every time I visit Bacolod. It is a very nice place to end an evening or afternoon or morning! I try my best to taste different cake or pastry every time I visit. But my favorite is blueberry cheese cake and chocolate cake (whatever kind). But this is definitely not for weight watchers! It will be difficult to resist the temptation!
Cheesecakes!!
Calea is one of my fave place in Bacolod.. :) Its because of their blueberry cheesecake.. Their other cakes are delicious too, just enough sweetness. We went there on our first night in the city.. and went back on our 2nd night for a take out because the place was full.. I would recommend this to everyone.. :)

When you go to Calea, be sure to try their white cheesecake and mud pie. If you're a nut lover, go for their pecan pie with vanilla ice cream on top or blueberry cheesecake (the crust is nutty and just delish)

They offer lots of options for cakes. This is THE haven for sweets lovers. Knowing that people love to purchase cakes as their " pasalubong " to their families, they provide a box specially made for transporting it from city to city / airport travel. Great service, with lots of choice of drinks as well. Accessible area and comfortable setting.
Delicious Cakes
The cakes are moist, not too sweet, just perfect. The coffee drinks superb. I actually prefer Calea than Felicia's. Their place is well-lit. Staff are knowledgeable. Funky mirror door :) I will definitely go back and bring my friends from Manila to test their other cakes!
Plethora of Sweets
I am not really fond of sweets but being here would really make one try something out. The available choices are amazing but I was really attracted to the Floating Island which is like a re-structured Brazo de Mercedes to me. The touch of the caramel between the fluffy white stuff and the rich yellow thing made it more appealing and delicious. It also does not hurt that the place has a beautiful interior. It is a nice place to relax and have coffee and cake with friends.

If you are in Bacolod and craving for cakes and pastries then Calea is the place to go. They have dozens of cakes for you to choose from so there's something for everybody. My personal favorites are the White Choco Cheesecake and their classic Chocolate Cake. Their Balay Quince branch is just a stone throw away from my favorite hotel in Bacolod (L'Fisher) so I see to eat that every time I retire for the night I should have my fill of Calea's cakes. I prefer this branch than their Robinson's Place Mall as you have more options here and the dining area is bigger.
Great ambience, Value for Money and Delicious
Coming from Manila, Calea is the best dessert place that I have eaten at. They have their relatively new restaurant along Lacson st - beautiful cool ambience. I saw them from their small beginnings rising to their recent success to having several branches in the city. Their cake portions are bigger than others with their prices lower than that of Manila. For cheesecake lovers, they just have lots of variation of cheesecakes that I have ever seen - NY, french, coffee, and so on. I like their triple chocolate mousse as well and their mocha frappucino. One thing I bring home from my travel to bacolod is their delicious almond biscotti. They are a bit pricey now compared to before - 6 short pcs for around P150-180. This is where I first learned that you need to dip it in coffee, but their version is biteable even without moistening it with the coffee.

No dessert menu. Just go to the counter and point to what your heart, mind and tastebuds desire! There's an ice cream freezer in the back; so dont forget to check it out as well. The cakes were beautiful as they were delicious...
a must try
I last visited Calea in Bacolod city year 2008 in Robinsons, their store is a bit small for all their avid customers. Year 2011 together with my husband, we dined in their newly opened store at Lacson street. The ir new store is a little big and attractive. We ordered there SPECIALTY CHOCOLATE CAKE AND BLUEBERRY CHEESE CAKE.. it's worth the price of such a very tasteful cakes.. at the the price of 85pesos you will definitely enjoy your desserts. They also have other available cakes and maybe next time i'll visit i will try the other flavors..
Calea Cakes
Tried Calea at Balay Quince on our fist day in Bacolod City. We were overwhelmed with the cake choices but then settled for the best sellers. Sad to say, there is nothing exceptional with the cakes nor the service... most of the frosting / icing are dried up and only the newly cut sides of the portions are fresh... seemed like they have been left longer in the shelves... a long line of servers greet incoming guests and that is all they do... they just stay there talking with each other... you need to call hard for their attention in ordering, asking for water refills and even getting the bill... tried to give it another chance, at the outlet in Lourdes Centre... but the broken window cake and black sambo were worst... Too much hyped up reviews. : (

They have different variety of cakes to choose from. Sweets overload. I was just not impressed with their coffee. But overall, I had nice experience.
Average at best with terrible service
Stayed at L'Fisher which is right across the street from the place and everyone always wanted to meet at this place. At first it's pretty exciting to see so much to choose from, but when you start eating, you soon find out that it's all for show. The flavor is average at best, I even tried going back but it kept getting worse. The service was awful as it's pretty clear that the owners don't care at all about any of that. If you want average cakes then this is the place to go.

Terrible food
Calea came highly recommended, and was a big disappointment. We ordered 3 kinds of cake, and not one was finished. The bestseller, chocolate cake, was very dry. The mango cake, which looks like a mango bravo, could not even be compared to the mango cake in most popular bakeshops in Manila. We only ate the tiny bits of mango on top. The lemon ice cream cake was so-so. The only thing I liked was their expresso.
great cakes don't make up for slow service
This is a pretty cake and coffee shop on Lacson Street across the L'Fisher hotel. The interiors are ice blue and white, with comfortable chairs and eclectic décor. Do not expect traditional Negros sweets in this shop. There are at least 15 kinds of cake and pastry displayed in tall glass-fronted refrigerators. The cakes are not labeled, so it makes it more difficult to make a choice. When the place is packed, you have to grab the attention of one of the servers who number less than the cake choices. Ordering should be a piece of cake (it isn't) ! The white chocolate and lemon mousse, chocolate cake, pecan pie a la mode and mud pie are worth the trip though.
(Super) Rude Staff!
Calea has good cakes but sadly, they really have to improve their customer service. I was calling the attention of one of their staff because the cake i got was in bad condition (really really dry and hard). Instead of them listening a bit or asking me what about my concern, they just snapped, 'That's how it is!'. When i tried explaining what's wrong, they just ignored me. If i have the worst customer service, this would certainly be it. Sad!
Overrated
It was an average cake shop. I think what sets it apart is because its affordable. A cake slice in Manila is more than P100. Here its only P90. They also have lots of options.

has coffee and some blue berry cheesecake here after dinner at lina's. sad that i cannot bring one to iloilo because long travel time means cheesecakes will melt. it's a must try, one of the famous in bacolod.

I went there twice during my stay in Bacolod. The place is very calming and its great treat for your self if you want to have a break. I ordered most of the cheesecakes and tried there chocolate signature cake. Over all, its nice place with relaxing atmosphere.
Best blueberry cheesecake evaaaaah!
I'm done searching for the best cheesecake! It's been a while that I've been looking and trying cheesecakes, but Calea ended my journey in search for the best one. Alright, I may sound OA here. But for me, Calea offers the BEST cheesecake ever! Unforgettable! I envy the Bacoleños as they have the luxury to have a slice of this heavenly cake whenever they want to. Huhu. However, even though I wanted Calea to have a franchise in Manila, I will still chose not to have it in Manila. Simply because, Calea is enough to be your reason to go back to Bacolod! Namit!

Must-try when in Bacolod
I wish I knew about this place earlier. Their cakes are just to die for, maybe that's why the place is always full of people. Love their coffee and ice cream cake too. They have several cakes that can be packed as your pasalubong (token / gifts for your loved ones when you get home) and will survive a 1-hour flight.

Well this is one of the places to go for desert in Bacolod. People plan to go here at the end of the night or for special occasions. Mainly known for deserts but they have some sandwich options.

Cakes Baked From Heaven
Cakes baked in heaven.. That's how I always address Calea cakes. My husband & I looooooveee their goods. I like that they have a good & special kind of packaging for their cakes if you want to bring some of their goodies home. It was almost a two-hour flight back to MNL from BCD, but the cakes were still sealed & intact after we opened it at home. Definitely a MUST-TRY when you're in BCD.

Sweet desserts for the sweetest tooth
After having lunch at Aboy's Restaurant, we decided to have dessert. A good suggestion was Calea's. Business is good at Calea's, the exterior has a heavenly feel and the interior was clean and cold. We were greeted with a wide array of colors and flavors from different cakes. Everything looked appetizing and they have giant slices. Almost everyone tried their signature Calea chocolate cake, while I tried their pecan caramel cheesecake. It was so good, some even decided to buy a box to bring it home.

It is impossible for me to go to Bacolod or Negros without eating at Calea. Their location in front of L'Fisher hotel is better now. It is now bigger, airier and more pleasant to eat in. Unfortunately, there does not seem to be a " slow " time in their daily schedule. They always seem to have a line. When one steps into Calea, it is as if one has stepped into pastry heaven. There are soooo many cakes and pastries to choose from that it is a test of discipline to get just one slice. I cannot gush enough. They do not have anything that is less than wonderful. I love the lemon pie; my kids love all versions of their chocolate desserts. Their cheesecakes are to die for. Which one, you ask? All of them, I answer. Their one big drawback is that they do not have sugar-free cakes. This is therefore, not a place for diabetics. But otherwise, this is heaven! Love!

my good friend brought me to this totally great cake shop. when we arrive there the first i saw was their ice cream cakes which i definitely like the moment i set eyes on them. the order that i got was A-1! to the last piece. highly recommended for CAKE lovers!

Cakes all the way
the place is just across the hotel where we stayed.. so we gave it a try. there's so many guest coming in and out of the place, and we wondered why. the main attraction of the place is it's brewed coffee and an array of good looking pastries and CAKEs. and indeed the cakes just taste heaven...
Excellence
I am not fond of sweets, cakes especially. But Calea's cakes changed it. My fitness conscious friend shunned a slice but we insisted that he should try and he ended up eating 2 slices, well, for his fitness sake. The cakes are so lavished with craftsmanship that though they might look usual, the taste of each slice makes the difference. My English uncle even said that he never tasted cakes that excellent that even tried to bring a round back home. They have nice staff, quite reasonable price, nice location. What else? ;)
Best Cakes in Bacolod
The cake in this shop are superb. Bacolod is known for their sweet deserts and Calea is the best of Bacolod that can offer. From brunch till midnight, this place are full. Whenever you will board the plane to Manila, you can see plenty of passengers bringing Calea Cakes to Manila. I have not seen so many varieties or kinds of cakes anywhere in the world in just 1 place. The cakes are in great value as compared to the cakes in Manila. A must try in Bacolod!!!

One of the best cake shops I've been in. They have a lot of variety of cakes, they can help you pack your cakes if you want to hand carry it in the airplane. Thou the price is kind of steep, it is all worth it.

Bacolod's Pride!
Every homecoming is not complete without a visit to Calea. All cakes; from cheesecake, mousse to ice cream cake, from tarts to pies Calea is a dessert haven. Their sandwiches and pastas are yummy too. What's even great with Calea is that cakes are less then a hundred bucks. Tastier and better than cakes here in Manila at a fraction of its price.
Delicious pastries and pasta; one of the many dining 'musts' on a Bacolod trip
First started coming to Calea when it opened in the mid 1990s. It became a favorite afternoon date place for my wife and I because of their very good pasta cooked just perfectly al dente, and the very delectable pastries. We would take some prune bars home even after our meal. Through the years the once tiny place (3 small tables in a cozy nook) across L' Fisher Hotel has expanded several times, but the quality of the food has remained the same. Great place for a heavy late merienda. Being the capital of Sugarland, you would expect that the people in Bacolod would know how to make and appreciate good sweets and pastries. Visitors from Manila actually take home whole cakes with them on the plane!

This is really a nice experience when we got there, the place is very nice, they offer a lot of range of cakes and sweets, me and my friends tried some of their cakes they're all extraordinary delicious, we we're surprised because people are really wanted to eat their, some are really trying to wait for their time to take a seat because the shop was super full pack. Not What It Was
Five years ago I would have described Calea as one of the world's great cakeshops. And the coffee was excellent too. On this first trip back I was disappointed to such an extent that I wondered if there had been a change of ownership. There was not the same range of cakes.. no meringues, no eclairs, no 'sans rival' cake. The profiteroles I ate were unremarkable and the chocolate tasted very bitter. My wife's cheesecake was unremarkable too. And my cappuccino was rather wishy-washy topped with cinnamon which I didn't ask for.. significant because it completely changes the coffee's taste. Once Calea meant waiting for a table and was an invitation to diabetes and obesity. No queing and one cake each was enough this time. We'll need to check out the competition.

Nothing special. Just like any other cake place in the country. Although, its cheaper. I've tried their blueberry cheesecake and its just less than 100 pesos.
Ottima pasticceria
Da buon italiano a bacolod non poteva mancare la visita a calea. Locale luminoso situato sull'arteria principale della città. All'interno della grande porta basculante si viene subito rapiti dall'enorme bancone frigo dove vengono riposte un enorme quantità di torte fatte al momento. La mia scelta è caduta su una cheesecake al mango, una delizia, porzione regolare servita al tavolo con il solito bicchiere d'acqua. DA PROVARE.
Best Cheesecake Ever!!!
Nice ambiance, cake selections made me drool. It was too hard to choose which cake to order. We ended up ordering a Pecan Pie, Butter Sansrival, White Cheesecake and their Chocolate Cake. Hands down Cheesecake was the winner! Will go back tomorrow to buy 2 box and bring it home to Manila! Tip: Not in the menu was the Banana Parfait but all the other tables have it. Awesome variety of cakes at unbelievabe prices
We went to visit Bacolod city for the Masskara festival this year and ended up going to Calea almost every day that we were there. They had so many different kinds of cakes that it just seemed wrong not to try as many as we can while we were there! from their ice cream cakes, cheesecakes to their chiffon, at each slice going for under P100, it was definitely good value for money. Only downside was it was almost always full and we had to stand around the counter for a bit before we had someone attend to us even for a takeout order.
The Sweetness of Bacolod
Had dessert at Calea at Robinsons Bacolod. Small coffee shop that fits around 20. Had the best seller choco ice cream cake and butter sans rival. So many other cakes to choose from. Reminds me of Contis in manila P100 a slice. Good quality and taste. A little pricey for Bacolod where you can get a sizzling meal for P35 but not bad.
Sweet pleasure
I must confess that I'm the number one fan of Calea in Bacolod. We keep coming back in one of our favorite city in the South, Bacolod, and this is one of the must-go place. I do love the ambiance of the restaurant. Coffee plus Cake plus nice chit chat would make your day complete! :) This is along Lacson St just in front of L'Fisher Hotel. Try their Blueberry Cheesecake and Chocolate Mud pie, super delicious!

Cheesecake lovers should rejoice this thing exists. The cake with pecan nuts on it rocks so was the mud pie. A lot of other cakes rock here as well.

Sweets for my sweet? Anyone ? A perfect place even for the whole family, out to simply have a good time together, and share that special moment of a sumptuous dessert, probably the best in Bacolod. I am not particularly big with desserts but here is one place where i could not say no to such amazing treet. We tried every cake they had to offer, and every one was just as good, but the ice cream cake were my favorite!

Tried their ice cream cake it was very good the one with pistachio is my fav. Brownies was a little dry for me. Price was worth it for what you get. located along the main road not really an ideal place to have ur afternoon coffee or tea still the ambiance is quite good enough.

What can I say? I already love Bacolod for their hospitality and warmth. This restaurant is in the central part of Bacolod near the capitol. One jeepney ride or a long walk from Go Hotel. But worth the walk. Try the lemon pie.
We love this place
What is not to love in this place. Their ice cream cakes are really good. The blueberry cheesecake is a must try. Cant wait to try their other cakes tom. Must try when in Bacolod
