Lazy Staff
The service is so slow, the staff does not respect your time. Its takes them so long to serve a canned soda, soo slow to compute your bill, and super slow to give back your change after you paid the bill. I hope this review will attract the attention of the restaurant management so they will know that they have a lazy and timid cashiers and waiters. .. by the way, the food is just mediocre, nothing special...
Windy setup. Excellent staff service. Good food
I get it why the locals like to visit this place. There's a certain vibe to the place. It helps that its on a hill and its cool and breezy. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The food is great. Some standout that others though. The kare kare was awesome.
Lovely Location, Good Food
Beautiful setting in Pueblo de Panay, Roxas City. Lovely elevated panoramic views of the area, good value menu and efficient service. It catches the nice cooling breeze.
Very frustrated seafood lover in ? Seafood capital of the philippines
I dont usually review but i just cant let this pass. Most blog i read always mentioned this restaurant as a must. So i went with my wife on valentines day lunch time. Ambiance, view are ok. We sat on table of our choice. Nobody cared to ask. Catching the attention of a personnel to order was difficult. Then after ordering the waiter was courteous enough to tell us it may take 15 minutes so we just agreed and even told him happily it is ok since the ambiance and weather is perfect. Then more than 30 minutes passed. We asked and it arrived about an hour since we ordered. We ordered chili crab and seafood karekare. To our surprise When we started eating our food was not hot. Kare kare tasted ok but the crab, aside from being cold, was too hard to be eaten. So we talked with the manager and told her about the crab. We told her that our theory is it may be frozen then cooked right away. Again to our surprise she agreed, that it is true and even told us that there are many complaints about the crab. To our mind seafood capital and you are serving frozen crab. I should have read the review here in trip advisor by EurAznSF from chicago illinois dated august 2018, entitled " how to overfry a crab- ask terraza's chef " We spent 1200 pesos and so frustrated that they know the problem with their crab and they didnt bother to correct or at least advise the persons ordering it.
Great view
Cool breeze and great food! Such a relaxing view too. They also have zipline if you're the adventurous type. One of the must see places in Roxas City.
Lunch
Nadherne misto s krasnym vyhledem do okolí. Maji tady výborny coctail s teqilou a mangom😎Odporučam misto k obedu a prijemnemu posezení.
Just a cafe
Just a regular cafe up in the hill. Food taste right. They have desserts, hot and cold drinks and offering dinner, all day breakfast, lunch and snacks. If you're tried eating local food, you can consider a visit. It is just next to El Pueblo, a transport terminal (hub) going and from Iloilo, Caticlan, Kalibo and more. To get here, just ask a local you wanna go to this cafe. Public vehicle (not tricycle cos its expensive) will do.
Bonding with family
Best view top of the hill... very good and tastety foods but be sure to advance your order ahead of your arrival coz sometimes they are fullyboked. The place is so beautiful. they have a lots of variety of foods to choose. I strongly recommend the place to dine with your friends and love ones.
Nice view
The food is okay but it took a long time to serve a simple breakfast. Price is a bit expensive compared to other restaurants who offer the same dishes, probably because of the view.
Beautiful Breakfast view
Decided to have breakfast here after arriving early at the Roxas Airport. I loved the view of the place. The morning air made our breakfast peaceful and lovely. Food was reasonably priced and staff were all very helpful.
How to overfry a crab - ask Terraza's chefs
I have surmised that its views & access to the convention center have provided this restaurant superior number of reviews to push this restaurant to 2nd place on Tripadvisor in this market. Each dish arrived sweetened with sauces that killed all natural flavour of its prawns, squid, and crab. The crab was fried to a point where we could no longer discern what was edible and not. Reading through the reviews I learnt the meaning of 'daming lamok' as the grasses below breeds tiny creatures that fill the air, your plates and glasses after awhile. This place seems more trendy than it is good.
I love capiz
I love eating here... I love also the breeze of air... if you want to unwind with family or frienda this is the best place, with perfect scenery
Ordinary cafe, but nice view
The Cafe Terraza we visited is the one located at Circulo Convention Center at Pueblo de Panay in Roxas City. While I don't find anything spectacular about the food and drinks the cafe offers, its location is spectacular! I suggest that you take the outside seats, not those inside the restaurant. The cottages are lovely and they offer you a refreshing view of the surrounding hills.
Nice fresh air
This place is situated on a hill overlooking the city. It is nice to be somewhere where you can breath fresh air and be away from the exhaust of tricycles and motorcycles. The food was very average, the service was adequate. Friday nights they have a live singer who performs for a couple of hours. The evening lights of the city is pretty but be prepared for the mosquitoes. Have some insect repellant with you to enjoy dinner.
Lunch overlooking roxas city
Our tour guide took us to this place for lunch - we ate seafood kare kare, crispy squid and a native soup dish. The food is sooo good and delicious! It has a very spacious function room for parties.
Satisfying Lunch with the View of Roxas City - Must Try
Part of our city tour is a vist to el circulo's i love capiz. We requested to have our lunch at cafe terraza due to its good reviews. We ordered seafood kare kare, kadyos baboy at langka and salt n pepper squid. They all taste very good and best of all price is just right. The service is good and fast as well. A must try when in Roxas City.
Good view
View was great. The place had little cozy like cottages for a couple or a group. Food was fine and prices were reasonable.
Best in town with a great view
Stunning views, the individual cabins make a great setup and the food was excellent, the prices very reasonable. Value for money beyond everywhere else in town. Breakfast, lunch or dinner, it was just great. Worth the trip to the restaurant.
Nice view but
We were brought here during our visit in Roxas City to take breakfast after we arrived at 6am from airport. During this time, the available food is a few selection of breakfast meals. The area has a nice panoramic view of the adjacent hills and greeneries. While customer service is friendly, the food we ordered took more than 30mins. So this place is not recommended for those who are in a hurry.
If you are hungry not here
Sorry but we had such a bad experience here. They were under manned that's why the food arrived after one hour so. The sad thing is that it's not even worth waiting. They have acoustic every Friday, Saturday and Sunday but no alcohol is being served. You can bring but there is corkage for that. Maybe a place where you can go after dinner, have some coffee or tea while listening to acoustic. Enjoy a cozy night and overseeing roxas city.
Hyped by the reviews
the service is way to slow. it took us 20 minutes to get a table even though a lot of tables are available. the food took another 30 minutes to arrive. the bill took another 10 minutes. the food is not that great. lots of insects and mosquitoes.
Nice place, if you're a very patient person
The view is fantastic at this place! Very picturesque and romantic. I can't say the same for their service and food though. Your order takes about 40 to 60 minutes to arrive, food is good but not that great. And also, mosquitos are swarming the place starting 6pm. But they do have a live band. Recommended time of visit is between 3pm to 6pm.
Hilltop delight!
The best place in Roxas City so far in terms of dining and venue.. ive been to the city several times, we call it the tricycle city because the city looks so crowded with so many tricycles in all directions.. but when we went to cafe terraza, it gave me a completely different view of Roxas. The quiet and relaxing Roxas city.. I like how they set up cottages on the hillside.. Food is good.. for tourist i think they will love it! This is my top recommendation when you're in Roxas City.
Good food and very reasonable price
First time eating here. Great service. Great food especially the prawns with aligue sauce and the calamari (sweet). Was surprise when we got the check since it was cheap for all the food we ordered. We will definately come back here to eat and enjoy the ambience.
Would have been good
The boodle fight is worth trying however it took some time for them to give us our order (maybe because there were lots of customers at that time). The food would have been good to go with the great view - a must see when you come to Roxas.
1st taste of Roxas
This is the 1st restaurant we were treated to upon arriving & they were spot on. Although we were not able to taste most of their best sellers because they're unavailable, the onse we ate were delicious. The food prices were okay but the ambience was fantastic.
View is Great, Food is Average
Cafe Terraza has a great view. But when we tried to have breakfast, we waited for a quite a while and the food was served cold. It was really disappointing. We also tried having our dinner here and their squid dish with peppers is good. I'll come back for the view and the dinner again.
Nice Location Decent Food
It's the highest restaurant in Roxas and offers a panoramic view of the whole city. Food is regular seafood fare this place is very famous for. No alcohol served here for some reason but you're welcome to bring your own!
Average Restaurant, Great View
Cafe Terraza is located outside Roxas City proper so you have to rent a tricycle to go there. If you have a car then no problem. Food was ordinary, even below average at times. I can cook better the sinigang na bangus at home. Sisig? Maybe it's more af an adobo. What with the big chunks of pork fat! Not recommended. Seafood kare kare is better. Owners should invest in good chefs / cooks. It's not the place na balik-balikan mo except for the view of the city.
Weekend dining with a view
We went on a Saturday evening. There was live acoustic music. We wanted a table along the edge of the cliff to enjoy the view but it was full so it would be best to be best to reserve your table ahead. If you are not bringing your own car, better to make arrangements for your return tricycle ahead. Otherwise, you will have to walk for a couple of kilometers to the main road.
Relaxing Hill Top View with Live Acoustic music
New popular place in Roxas for its night view. I love their food, delicious freshly baked pizza (good for 4 - 6 persons) is just P220 while tower ice tea is only 140!) It was Thursday night nut there were playing live acoustic music which really added to the relax mood of the place. My only problem are the insects (since it is open air) - make sure you have bug spray with you!
Very Good
The food and ambiance was outstanding. We saw the whole city from above. Nighttime is preferable if you want to see the beauty of city lights. The service was good. We dined in one of the cottages outside and an immediate service was unavailable. It is also recommended if you have your own vehicle since public transportation from the place is not always available, especially during evening.
Lunch at the hill
I, my husband, daughter and my son with his family had lunch in this restaurant atop a hill. We took a cabana which was reserved for us. The food served like bihon guisado, chopsuey, oyster, crispy pata and pork BBQ taste ordinary. The only satisfaction one gets is the cool weather inspite of the hot noon day.
Fascinating View
On top of the hill... overlooking the city of Roxas..... the place was so relaxing, with good food and good service from the crew.....
View is okay, food is so-so.
I guess locals / tourists go here only for the I ❤ CAPIZ sign and some view. But food is average and the saddest thing is they served us frozen crabs with dry meat sticking to the sides of the shell. : (
Good ambiance and inexpensive
This cafe is in open space, with several open cottages which are usually well-booked. Live performance of oldies songs is from 6-9 pm. Price is inexpensive. It seems some tricycles don't understand where Cafe Terraza is, even if you say 'near Pueblo de Panay'. Better cab tricycle by hotel staff to make sure they understand, or say El Circulo Convention Centre as an alternative. For return transportation, the security guard or restaurant staff are helpful to call tricycle for you.
Dining with Family
Had an excellent time with my family. (14 persons) Had a booked hut with a view over Roxas. There was the Color-Run Party / Disco happening at the time. The music and its ambient environment, happy youngsters all over the place. It was great. We had a table / hut good for 14 person. Excellent food. Longer wait for the food to arrive, but it was a busy night. More Waiting staff wouldn't hurt during weekends. If we had to order, we had to find them ourselves. Other than that, it was fine. Food tasted quite delicious. No problem there.
Gutes Essen, tolle Aussicht!
Lunch at Cafe Terraza
My friends & I had lunch at Café Terraza. We ordered buddle lunch with mango shakes & soft drinks. We enjoyed our lunch. everything was delicious. The service was average (peak lunch time) & it was obvious that our waiter was doing his best. Overall, a positive dining experience. Would be back if I'm in town.
Tasty meal... Best Seafood kare-kare!
They have the best Seafood kare-kare in town. The waiters and waitresses are very friendly and professional. I love the concept of bahay-kubo dining. They just need to add more selections in their menu.
Nice Concept
The concept must have been copied from Cebu City and Davao City though the structures are temporary. A bit far from the city center; being visitors, we have to contract a tricycle for our dinner on a hilltop. The only consolation for the driver is the presence of live band and a bit windy compared to the city center. Yes there are mosquitoes or other type of insects, but they provided us with " electronic catcher " that eventually drive the insects away. The food is good but not memorable, but the attentiveness and courteousness of the staff was. We appreciate the concept that escape us for a while from the heat, hopefully in a year or two, more improvements can be seen, like presence of taller trees, and the food becomes memorable. We still loved the experience....
Frozen not Fresh
My family (most of us arent based in Roxas City) decided to try Cafe Terraza for dinner one hot and humid night. The place was stunning and very relaxing with acoustic band playing in the background. We were not seated on one of the huts first because we didnt have reservations but they recommended we wait before they serve us food. We were placed after 30mins of waiting which we didnt mind at all. Come the food - we had calamares, scallops, pork BBQ, liempo and fried bangus which was really delicious. I was expecting Roxas Kansi (or shall i call just a plain bulalo) to be alittle bit sour with batwan on it - it was so-so. Ginapos na Manok is far from what was in the menu's picture, it was just a whole / half chicken deep fried and serve with chinese style gravy. It was really dry nobody even touched the breast part. Everybody was not a fan of the gravy too. The most unforgiving is the grilled tanigue. It was served late - the server apologized the fish was frozen they have to thaw it. The taste was not worth the money and the texture is off - it was not flaky at all that when you stab the steak with the fork, portion comes off like a cake. The atmosphere and experience is worth it but they have to improve on service and some of the foods (no frozen please :)). I will visit on my next vacation and see if things had improved.
Perfect location... and then the mosquitoes
I never thought I would find such a beautiful place at a very reasonable / affordable price in Capiz. We went there around sunset, made a deal with the trike driver to take us there from Robinsons going up, wait for us till we finish dinner, and take us back down again, for a good price of 100PHP. The trip upward was already a treat. And when we arrived at the hilltop, the place overlooks the city of Roxas under the beauty of a dark Visayan sky. We took some pictures, and come dinner time, I was actually a bit shocked with the price of the food. They were affordable, not the expensive cost I was expecting for such a beautiful place. We had an open hut for our dinner, we got a live music singing and the waiter there was really courteous. It was like Tagaytay, at a very much affordable exchange. For improvement, they had this mosquito issues there. They provided electric lanterns that killed them. It was effective, didn't bother our meal. Overall, I will recommend this to anyone who visits Roxas City. I will be back here too.
Crispy pata
Cafe Terraza is beside the El Circulo Events Place. To get there, we took a tricycle for P8. Going back down to Robinsons Mall, we took a jeepney which also cost us P8 per person. The crispy pata and baked scallops were good. If you are able to reserve, get the huts with the view.
Amazing view, amazing food
The views from the cabanas / huts are amazing, so make sure you call for a reservation to snag one of the few cabanas available. If you don't get a cabana, don't fret, you can walk around the place and still enjoy the view. Plus, the food alone is worth taking the trip for. We enjoyed the Crispy Pata and the Salt and Pepper Squid in particular. The food takes time to be prepared, so plan for that. When they took our orders, they told us it would take 25 to 30 minutes (they weren't kidding), and you could spend this time taking pictures. There's a small playground for the kids in case they get bored waiting. Prices are very reasonable, too.
Terraza by the Hills
Cafe Terraza is place where you could have an overview of the City from the top. Its the best place to relax, unwind and dine and taste filipino cuisines like the famous Seafood Kare Kare and the super affordable boddle fight good for 4-5 persons. Try their confictionaries that melts in your tongue and the their famous juice " House Blend "
Ambiance with Great Food
Rarely can you find a good restaurant that serves delicious food and has a beautiful ambiance. Cafe Terraza is one of them. Perched on top of a hill way off the city central - you can view the sunset while waiting for your food to arrive. We ordered their recommended dishes: Pomelo Salad, Baked Scallops (although our original choice was Baked Oysters - they ran out of fresh oysters that day), Bangus Sisig and Crispy Pata. We were so full, we didn't have room for dessert. Service is excellent. On the minus side though - there were so many pesky mosquitoes! Bring tons of mosquito repellant lotion if you intend to stay after dinner and enjoy the live acoustic music.
Dining with a view
Situated at the top of a hill, the view is stunning. During the day you have the overlooking view. At night it gets romantic with all the lights they have on. Very " Instagram-worthy " coz they have this " I heart Capiz " sign. The huts are nicely built & adds to the appeal. Oh, the food. The food is also good. They have choices for both mid-range entrees and cheap-eats toppings. They also have Boodle Fights which is enough for an average family. The service leans towards slow but you really won't mind coz of the view you have.
Delicious food and a breathtaking view
This is a new restaurant located on top of a mountain. One can enjoy the view while eating the delicious food. We had fresh seafood because Roxas City is known for its seafood. We also had a local soup dish which was also very appetizing. Service was good except for the last dish, the oysters, took a long time to be served. However, they were so delicious they could serve as dessert!
