Stay away from this place
Never in my many years I ate overpriced lousy food that even a kitchen ignoramus could make better. I will not even describe what we had, but it was bland and boring
Rude and Ignorant Waiter
The waiter was very rude and ignorant. When I asked him to explain my mom's senior discount portion of the bill, he just told me that's what the POS computed and he refused or doesn't know how to explain the computation of the bill. I'm really annoyed with people who cannot explain things and assume other people don't need to understand the logic of things. Note to management, please educate your staff. Also, food was too ordinary for the price. I just come here due to the limited available restaurants in Temple Drive.
Cozy place, good food and drinks
I visited this place several times over the past year whenever I am in the area, and the menu has always evolved for the better. Last night, i tried the potato leek soup and shared the bacon prawn salad with my friend and for a Non Salad person, it was yummy. Portions are big enough for sharing and servers graciously oblige. This is an ideal go-to place for breakfast if you are in the area. They have plenty of healthy but deliciois options and very good coffee and health drinks. Cozy quiet ambiance with good Service and newspapers. A change from the usual Starbucks date. Overall, i am a happy customer.
Gave it a 2nd chance
I did not like the food the first time I visited a couple of years back but I decided to give it another try. We arrived a few minutes before they changed from their brunch menu so we were still able to get some brunch items. I must admit that I have changed my opinion about this restaurant and can now recommend this place if ever you are in the area.
What could be
We took my mom out to Apero for Mother's day brunch. It was our first time to try Apero after I looked up some reviews on the web. Based on online reviews, the place was highly rated because of the extensive selection and that they prepare comfort foods, breads and sauces in-store. It is a small place which seats about 40-50, the selection of breads and the menu choices were not as extensive as some of the reviews described. The lunch menu was available as early as 8am so you can order the double cheeseburger or the roasted chicken if you feel more inclined to heavy meal. I was happy to find some healthier entrees such as yogurt and fruit, not sure what the waffle, oatmeal selection would taste like. It took a very long time to get our orders, and they came out one by one so we ended up staying for a full two hours for everyone to finish their meals. On the receipt, they charged it as a pour over even if we ordered an Americano, can't recall if they were priced the same. The double cheeseburger was charged as an Angus burger. I pointed this out to our server and she said they were all the same. Considering it was a special holiday popularly celebrated by eating out, this would have been a great opportunity for Apero to stock up on their product offerings and prepare its servers and cooks to welcome the hungry crowd. Based on this visit, we will probably not come all the way here for breakfast. Maybe we can try their lunch if we are in the area again. Pros: healthy meals, freshly prepared food, comfort food, free parking, raspberry coulis! Cons: poor service, slow, limited selection, limited seating, no reservations on weekends even for a big group
Cosy spot for a casual meal
A cosy spot for a casual meal with friends, with a good selection on the menu and friendly, efficient service (as per usual in the Philippines). I wasn't feeling too hungry and I chose the spinach cavatelli - a kind of gnocchi, served with a sun dried tomato, garlic, basil and anchovy sauce, with grana padano. I was pleased to see the serving size was modest …but the dish itself was very, very heavy - the 'dumplings' (as the menu described them) were quite solid and chewy and the sauce was super salty and swimming with oil; I didn't enjoy it much at all. My dining companions' meals looked much nicer and they were happy with them - a beet and pumpkin salad; buccatini Bolognese and the bacon prawn Lyonnaise salad. House wine by the glass was modestly priced and of acceptable quality. Only one of the party had coffee and this was reported as being good. When next in this part of the world, I'd definitely go back to Apero and try something else from the varied menu.
Easily missed, delicious French food at a quiet spot
Apero has an extremely attentive staff, a broad assortment of excellent French appetizers and entrees and a fabulously extensive cocktail selection. Have the crispy green beans with anchovies - which we devoured with zest. The seafood dishes were delicious. My only so-so dish was the pate in duck fat which seemed a bit watered down, maybe the pate was put in a freezer. Wish they had toilet facilities that was more convenient but I think that's a small problem with the whole complex. Otherwise, a very solid restaurant for the neighborhood and a highly recommended place for the locals.
Business meeting
The restaurant serves a good variety of pastries ! There is also a nice view of the Marikina Valley. The place affords customers with a basement parking lot.
A good brunch!
Offering a wide range of interesting food choices, this little place on Temple Drive delivered nicely. Good for a re-visit!
Manila 2018
My good friend always makes it a point to invite me for dinner every time I go home for a vacation. She said she will take me to a place where I can have great food with Rose. Indeed, that's what we had specially the crispy beans with anchovy, and the confit duck. Awesome food and drinks
