Movie night
My wife and I attended a movie here last night. Fully reclining seats, and a cool place to watch a movie. We watched the gentlemen, and loved it! Parking garage around the corner. We should have gotten a validation from the theater and restaurant we ate, but forgot to! Cost $12 for parking for 3 hours because of it. Our fault.
Great Theater in the heart of Tempe
I love this theater! It is located in downtown Tempe. It is a hidden gem. What I like about this place is that it's located close to ASU and lots of college students. They come and enjoy the movie and don't bring young children to movies that are past the bedtime of their kids. Thus... no unhappy children in the movies past bedtime. Also, they validate parking and there are so many great restaurants in the area that you can catch a movies and dinner all within walking distance and have your parking covered. The theater is clean. They offer stadium seating. They also have assigned seating so you can show up at the start of the movie and not have to settle for seats in the front row. They also have a full bar upstairs if you want to have a drink while watching your movie. And on top of everything else, the pricing for this theater is cheaper than other theaters in the area.
Needs full renovation
We had been here at least six months ago and one of the escalators was not working. Surprise, surprise, surprise, we just went back and the escalator still isn't working. In addition to that, almost all the seats have rips and tears. I'm SURPRISED that management hasn't done something about the condition of this theater; either that or they just don't care. If they don't care, nor will we, and we'll go elsewhere.
Nice Theater But Difficult Parking
I was in Phoenix and wanted to see a movie, and the timing worked out at this particular theater so I made the trek. This place was difficult to find and Waze even got confused but eventually I spotted the bright neon AMC sign in the distance. It was unclear where to park or if I'd get validation from the theater. I noticed a couple of cars going into an adjacent garage, so I gave it a go. The gate wouldn't let me in. You had to have some sort of keycard to park in there. Okay, whatever. I'm still not sure if the theater has a dedicated parking lot or garage! I ended up circling for parking on the busy street on a Friday night. Not fun. The parking was metered too, so I had the added stress of not only scouring the car for coins but also worrying about the clock. Minus 2 stars for the parking hassle because a business, especially a movie theater, needs to make it easy to park. After a short walk to the entrance, I bought my ticket. The theater was in a state of disrepair, with carpet ripped up and obvious construction and serious renovations going on. I won't hold this against them because I'm glad AMC is trying to upgrade its theaters. I climbed the steep flight of stairs (escalators were shut down) to a theater on the top floor. I wasn't expecting much but the auditorium was nice! It was outfitted with comfy (if well worn) red leatherette recliner seats and a screen that was small but wide (the auditorium was small so the screen was appropriately sized). The sound was good and the temperature was perfect. No complaints. I'd probably not return to this theater but it's well appointed inside. I'd suggest taking an Uber if you don't want to fool with parking.
The theater has been a nice place to watch movies but is in need of repairs now!
This is at least the second time we have visited this location and the escalators have been out of service. These should have been fixed by now! Also the recliners are nice and comfy but also in need of repairs. There are torn coverings that need to be looked at and fixed. Plus the last two times we have been here the drink machines were out of a lot of the drink choices. Love the idea of the theater and the location but it really needs to be kept up to date.
Comfortable seats
Came to AMC to see Star Wars tonight. This is our favorite location because of the comfortable seating. Power reclining, wide seats are the norm. The prices at this AMC are customary for the valley and the amenities are consistent: multi-option soda fountain, real butter dispenser, etc. They often run out of certain soda options during heavy times and are slow to refill but since there are four machines, (two downstairs and two upstairs) I can usually get my faves. AMC Tempe is the way to go.
Great theater in the heart of Mill Ave
This is my favorite AMC theater. It has so many great restaurants within walking distance. It serves mostly college students and professionals. You don't tend to have parents with infants and young kids showing up at later movies because the don't want to hire a babysitter. The seats fully recline and you can select your seats online prior to showing up at the theater. I love that I can arrive 2 minutes before showtime and get great seats. Other theaters that don't offer this are a free-for-all that require you to arrive 30-45 minutes before a show to get a great seat. This is a very laid back and comfortable place to see a movie!

I sometimes watch movies here when I am at ASU. The movie theatre is clean enough. The recliner seats are very nice.
Caught a late night movie on a Saturday
The great thing about this place is the price! Was able to enjoy an opening film on a weekend for $6.50. Because this is a college area location they offer great prices for their target demographic. The place is hard to find for folks that are out of town and it is in the middle of bars and restaurants but worth the hassle. Understand that 90% of the folks there will be 19-24 years old.
WOW
We stopped here because there was a little storm and thought the movies would be a good idea... So impressed with service and the theatre itself... Everything was awesome! We went to see " Sing " which was great and the whole experience was AMAZING
Props for amazing service
Great location, easy parking, clean theatre, very comfortable seats that you can reserve. I messed up my ticket purchase and they were SO helpful and accommodating in helping me change my tickets. Very grateful for the friendly and helpful service!
Clean and most comfortable Lazboy seats
Had a great time seeing a spontaneous movie at these theaters. Very very clean and supremely comfortable seats. Had a great time. Of course, the concessions have high prices... just like in all theaters.
Excellent movietheater, the way it should be!
The AMC in downtown Tempe is by far one of the nicest theaters I have ever been to. All the seats are a comfortable bonded leather, like something you would want to sit in at home. They are fully-reclining with ample width, so it really allows you to enjoy the movie in comfort! This will be my new favorite going forward with the extra level of attention to guest comfort, especially for those longer movies.
Such a nice theater BUT
This theater has great seats, so comfy and you can recline in them, the reserving seats is awesome, and the place looks super cool, but the most important part they fail miserably at, The sound quality in their theaters is so poor, I saw the new star wars their and I instantly regretted it as soon as the movie started, I could not enjoy the movie because all the sound was coming from the front of the screen, there was not even a single speaker place on either side of the room. Do you guys not have dolby digital surround sound? Cuz I will never attend this theater again. The best part of going to movies on the big screen, is the amazing picture quality and surround sound experience. You AMC centerpoint, fail, so hard. Please take some of your budget from the aestetics and seating and put it into your sound, jeez, its 2016
You can reserve the seat you want and recline in a leather adjustable seat, hooray!
Wow, we haven't been to a theater yet that lets you reserve a specific seat and recline by electric settings of your choice. Be careful not too recline too far. It was so comfortable, I could have fallen asleep if we weren't seeing an action film. The theater also validates, which gives you 4 free hours of parking. I'd definitely go back.
Great place
I have seen three movies here in the past week and I love this place. It is clean and very comfortable. Highly recommend this movie theater
Good not great
Parking is a bit of a nuisance but ticket for garage parking is validated by amc Popcorn downstairs. Theatre upstairs. Forget about refills Nice lounge chair setting but seats are too close together. I was reclined. Lady in front tried to recline and hit my feet Good screen. Good sound Premovie ads inappropriate Popcorn too plaine
Awesome theater!
I had no idea going into this theater that the seat were recliners! So that was a nice surprise. The place is clean and the quality of the theater is great. It's also located in the best place ever. I don't really want to see movies anywhere else in the Phoenix area now.
Love those Reclining Theater Seats!
We ended up going to see two movies during our week long visit, mainly because the reclining seats are so darn comfortable!
NEWLY REMODELED WITH RECLINER SEATS!
If you've ever visited the Dine-In theatre at the Esplanade in Phoenix but the dine-in menu was too expensive but LOVED those recliner seats, this place is your answer! The newly remodeled AMC Centerpoint 11 Theatre complex is in downtown Tempe, across from A. S. U, but it does have covered parking (with complimentary parking for up to 4 hours from the theatre). Each of the auditoriums have stadium style seating with the fluffy red recliner seats. You can reserve your seat on-line or arrive at the theatre. The theatre has a regular concession stand with theatre variety fare; the bathrooms are clean and have the hand blow dryers (like IKEA). CAUTION: I consider Rows A, B, and C right " up in front " so if you want a good middle of the auditorium seat without having to look straight up at the screen, rows D, E and F are great. Also, there is plenty of leg room. I highly recommend this theatre for the comfortable ambiance!
