Meadow Lake stay
We recommend this hotel highly. We had a lovely, restful stay in a clean, comfortable room. We felt safe and comforted after a long day of travelling. The breakfast the next morning was very good.
Would recommend
Allowed early check in, was very quiet and in a good spot close to most of the restaurant options in town. There is a restaurant on site, I didn't try it, but it's a convenient option. Very clean and comfortable room. Would stay again. My room had a fridge and microwave and both interior and exterior entrances on the ground floor which was nice.
will stay again!
Very accommodating and had a good time. the pool isnt working but it was still a good time with the restaurant right attached to the hotel. will be booking back again. The kids and husband had a good stay.
Save 40$ and stay at travel lodge
Called to book room, seemed expensive but decided to book as they had a pool and hot tub. Only to find out when we arrived they havn't been in use for years… Definitely would have stayed elsewhere and saved 40$
Not much selection in this town
I understand there is only a couple hotels in this town. This is probably the best. There is lots of restaurants around and it's about an hour from the provincial park. This girl supposedly has a pool that is not in use
Double billing
The front end staff play hide and seek. You have to press 'red' button for service, which is just a portable phone with a paging button. Then if someone crawls out from behind counter, they act annoyed to answer questions. I explained I paid Booking.com and was told she needed to take a deposit as well as charge me again for room, but it will go back on credit card in 3-5 days! Nope! $297.37 from Wyndham, $297.38 Booking.com! This is FRAUD
Worst hotel ever I wish I could pick no stars
Between the hotel and the booking agent I was charged $1800 for 2 standard rooms 2 night stay. There was issues with the booking I've been trying on get cancelled since it was charged to my credit card. I immediately called The booking agent and was assured it was be cancelled while the agent was cancelling the booking the line disconnected. I phoned again got another agent who assured me the cancellation was being processed. Well guess what his line disconnected too. I called a third time and got an agent with a pet rooster couldn't understand anything she was saying because the rooster was cock a doodle doing and when I tried to ask her to go somewhere quieter she got upset because it's her pet and she's working from home due to Covid. Again the line disconnected and I phoned the hotel to be assured it was getting sorted out (great lady named sierra who unfortunately is no longer employed with the hotel) When the chargers weren't being reversed I contacted the credit card only to be told I no showed and there for I need to pay for the 6 rooms that were book. Well I didn't no show because the hotel ran my credit before the end of my day. So awesome. I have contact the manager of the hotel Brandy but she's a busy lady and unfortunately she's just way too busy to return my calls or help me deal with this over charging issue. Let me say if your going to meadow lake Saskatchewan just stay in your car or a tent I assure you it's cleaner and you'll get better service
Clean room, Service Lacking
Stayed here with my parents, as we were going to lake for the day and Dorintosh was full no vacancy. First off check-in was a headache lot of confusion, even though it was already paid full online. By the time we finally got our room keys I was ready for a drink haha.. the room itself was very nice, and clean no issues there at all, the only thing I wasn't impressed with was the front desk staff every time we went there it was like we were inconveniencing them and a hint of attitude. Not very good customer service, besides that everything else was satisfactory!
Surprisingly Great!
Very comfortable bed, very clean room, nice front desk personnel. What more do you need from a budget hotel? They have an on-site restaurant- Garfunkel's it was fine. The wings were very good. If passing through, we will definitely stay here again!
Delayed Deposit return policy
Not impressed with the way their deposit for incidentals is handled. the $150.00 deposit is still showing as a debit on my credit card 3 days after my stay. When I called to ask if there was a mistake and why the amount had not been credited back I was told it can take up to 5 days. Most other hotels the deposit is credited back at time of checkout.
disappointed price will vary from day today depending on occupancy
enough cigarette butts laying on the ground to fill a 5 gallon pail out front of the restaurant staff doesn't do any cleaning in the rooms The price varies day to day depending on availability theres Definitely better places for your money
Needs Updatimg
Hotel is in need of updating. Old fixtures, beat up walls scratches. Noisy furnace. And the parking lot felt unsafe for my vehicle to be parked in. Wouldn't recommend. Expensive for where and what it is. No elevator. Stairs only.
Clean & Comfortable!
Friendly staff, very clean, the beds and pillows were super comfortable! (where can I get some of these pillows?) the kids loved the pool area! Great breakfast although we enjoy having the option of a waffle making area.
Nice hotel
Hotel is the best option in meadow lake. The rooms are nice as well as the amenities. It just needs better internet and a better breakfast. That would make it a great stay for the price. I did find it pricey but there aren't many options in town.
Run down
We stayed here several years ago, and enjoyed a clean, well run motel. This time we were disappointed. Our room had a musty smell, and most of the furnishings should have been replaced years ago. The " free breakfast " was the most basic bagels and yogurt buffet. Even the butter wasn't... they only had margarine! We'll try elsewhere next time.
Weekend visit
This hotel lacks management and oversight. The rooms were nice and no concerns. The coat rack area hadn't been dusted for weeks, the desk chair sunk to the floor front desk was aware of the issue and their response there was nothing they could do. The next day they forgot to clean the room. The staff were excellent, apologetic and helpful, and discounted the room. The continental breakfast is limited and not the bestI'm guessing this could be a better hotel but doesn't need to be as it has limited competition and is busy enough.
Super8 not Super
Never have I seen a Super 8 like this, it really needs help ! I think you need to do more than do a survey, you need to go have a look yourself, I always expect the beds at Super 8 not to be great and they didn't surprise me, but the quality of Super8 brand is not there!
Needs a bit of work but good for a night
Needs a bit of work fixing leaking shower heads, broken / missing tiles, bathroom door that won't stay open, etc. The breakfast was not the greatest. I like hot foods for breakfast and there's nothing, unless you like just toast.
Super 8
The service was fantastic, they were very helpful and accommodating. Although they do offer a complimentary breakfast, the selection was not the greatest and the breakfast room is not overly big. The rooms were clean, modern and very appealing.
Excellent hotel in the North
Very nice clean and modern hotel. Very friendly staff and great free breakfast. Near a mall and lots of resturants etc. It has nice water slide, pool & hot tub wel maintained. I will be staying in this hotel again if in Meadow Lake area.
Super 8
Rooms were very nice and everyone was very friendly and polite. I do recomend they clean / shock maintain their pool it was very old, dead chlorine that burned your eyes. If you do not swim then it was a perfect stay.
Not a great place to stay
Room was good, we had a king size suite, very comfy bed and the room was acceptable. The restaurant attached had advertised brunch and when we got in the waitress said they don't serve brunch, also Meadow lake was on a boil water advisory, the waitress made us pay for bottled water and the food was terrible. Super small hot tub and pool. Furniture in Lobby was very used.
Front Desk and Exterior Door from Room
My room had two doors, one to the hallway and one to the outside. I had the mechanical door latch engaged on the hallway door and exited thru the exterior door. I'd advise against that as the card reader on the exterior doors is less reliable. The front desk had to help me get back into my room. She was really friendly and helpful and my stay was very good but I wont leave the hallway door latched when I leave the room.
Winter Break
We had a great time nice comfortable beds, clean room, nice staff, and a great pool / slide hot tub. Thank you
Hot room; poor breakfast presentation and cleanliness
Hard to control heat in room so slept poorly on both nights; breakfast room tables were not clean and the breakfast offering was limited
Nice hotel
Clean and quiet hotel. The beds were very comfortable. The Internet has a very strong signal. I would stay there again. I only wished there was more variety at breakfast, and real coffee cream: (otherwise it was fine.
Rude customer service
Hotel is clean and is fairly modern, beds were comfortable. Overall stay was excellent except for the extremly rude night shift reception. This employee should be cleaning rooms or kept away from the customers
Front desk created confusion!
This was a room booked for work crew, credit card authorization was filed when the room was booked. Upon check-in our workers were required to provide yet another credit card and were told that there was no previous authorization on file. When I called back the next day it was right at the front desk and the manager had no idea why it hadn't been used. It's such a frustrating experience for both the crew and for the office staff here when the front desk won't check for information that they are told is there. Not only does it make the people checking into your hotel very frustrated, it also makes your front desk / reception look highly incompetent when it's right in front of them. When this happens I start looking at other properties to book crew into if we have to send people in to work in the area.... it's not worth the hassle to deal with an upset crew thinking I haven't done my job when I've made sure it's been done properly.
Christmas Family visit
My daughter, Mother and myself used our points to stay for three nights at the Meadow Lake Super 8 Motel. My Uncle and Aunt also stayed on our advice that this is a very good Motel to stay in for the holidays. The rooms were clean, the staff were efficient, gave us a warm welcome and provided us with all the services we requested! I recommend the Meadow Lake Super 8 Motel for anyone's next stay in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan!
Comfortable hotel and great service! We really enjoyed the hot tub after a long drive. The breakfast was ok
This is a nice hotel with good service. The hot tub was great but there is no elevator to the second floor. The restaurant attached is ok but service was slow and they were not busy.
Decent Hotel Option at a Reasonable Price
I stayed at the Super 8 Meadow Lake for business in November 2017. Overall, the property exceeded my expectations. Check in was smooth and quick, and staff were pleasant. On arriving at my first floor room, I was pleasantly surprised at how large it was, and the in-room amenities, including fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The room was clean and reasonably updated. My only real complaint was the temperature control. It was approximately -20 degrees C outside on the evening of my arrival, and it was apparent that my room was not being heated. The only temperature control in the room is the window unit, which did heat the room up reasonably quickly. However, it was a little frustrating overnight, as I had to keep the heater running to keep the room warm, but it had no thermostat to allow it keep a constant temperature. As a result, I was up a few times during the night to adjust the heat. The included breakfast was nothing special, but the fruit was fresh and the muffins were plentiful. Overall, I would not hesitate to stay at this location again if travelling in Meadow Lake.
Clean rooms
Poor breakfast for the cost of the room. Small breakfast area. Room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. Poor room temperature control. No room thermostats, only a dial setting for the fan and temperature. The dial was broken. The room key wasn't working and went 3 times back to the desk to finally get it activated correctly.
Nice room, but not clean
The room was nice, though I was not happy with the cleanliness of the bathroom. There was dark black hair all over the floor, as well as some nail clippings. There was also black hair in the bath tub. Seeing the bathroom like this makes me question the rest of the room, and makes me uneasy with touching anything / sleeping in the bed. Also, every channel on the TV was fuzzy, so I couldn't even watch it. The AC also would not turn on, so the room was warmer than I would have liked.
everything about this place is cheap except the price
The whole place is run down and in need of serious renos. The mattresses are WORN OUT and uncomfortable. Rooms are dingy and bathroom is small with hardly any counter space. My key card stopped working the second day, the desk clerk re-programmed it 4 times and it still didn't work so she tried the master key and that didn't work! Luckily I had a room with an outside door as well and the master key worked on it. However, then every time I needed to get into my room the desk clerk had to run around outside to let me in. I was not offered a different room. She did try calling the manager but said they were not answering. The pool and hot tub are back in order however I had to uncover the hot tub myself (middle of the afternoon) and request they turn on the water slide. Don't go here if you have kids - the pool is so cold that the kids I saw wouldn't even go on the waterslide because of how cold the water is. My room didn't get cleaned the second day - likely the maids couldn't get in because of the door lock situation however no apology was made. My co-workers room was not cleaned either and his door lock was working. I found a strange bug on the bed - like a fly but not really. Just gross. Breakfast was very basic and the juice machine was either empty or broken. Won't be going back here again not will anyone else I work with.
Loved the pet friendly location
If you have a pet it's a fantastic place to stay. The pet stay location is ground level. There's a door from inside and a door that is ground level that takes you outside to walk your pet.. The staff is very friendly. The room is comfortable and very clean. It is close to all your needs. We would definitely stay there again.
Terrible Wifi, Weird Smells
Wifi was terrible so very hard to get work done. Weird smells in the hallways. Dated carpet. Breakfast was more or less non-existent. Would probably not stay here again.
Loved staying at super eight it was clean, comfortable and.
Loved staying at super eight it was clean, comfortable and staff were welcoming and ready to assist you. I would recommend to my co workers and friends. Best place I ever stayed and the price was right !
Average stay
We stayed 2 nights at Super 8 for Labour Day long weekend. The room we were in was clean, had a fridge, and microwave. The beds were comfortable and the size of the from was average. There was no closet and bathroom was super small. The hotel does need some upgrading, we didn't have the free breakfast, went to Tim Hortons instead, I heard it wasn't great any way. Pool was out dated and needs some upgrades. Overall it was a comfortable stay, however I felt the hotel stay was a little over priced for the average, outdated hotel. PS no elevators... such a pain when lugging in multiple bags. Was very disappointed. *SHOUT OUT* to the young lady that checked us in Friday September 1st about 4pm. It was a speedy check in and she was very polite. After check in we went down for a swim. There was a block of room set up for an event over the weekend and there was a huge line up and she kept her cool and worked through it. Felt bad for her there was no supervisor or supporting staff to help her out on that busy day. Maybe next time they will have more staff to help busy check ins run more smoothly especially on those busy weekends with multiple events*
Stay at Meadow Lake
Hotel was easy to access, restaurant and lounge attached to hotel, room was large and clean. Staff were friendly,
My experience
i enjoyed my stay here in super 8 Meadow lake Saskatchewan, staff were friendly and very accommodating, good location close to everything that someone would need. the rooms are fairly decent
Clean rooms, minimal breakfast
Front desk was very friendly and helpful. The rooms and beds were clean and I was not troubled by noise. The beds were comfortable. Breakfast was continental, cereal, coffee, juice, bread to make toast, and a few muffins. And also some fresh fruit which was nice. There is a restaurant next door which we heard had a good breakfast, it might be a good idea to just give guests a partial voucher to use there. Just saying.
Super 8
Great place to stay for the cost. Very clean and good quick breakfast if in a rush. Also a restaurant in the building if you want to different meals. Good location easy to find.
Sad and bad!!
Until they replace the people that clean this hotel, do not expect to stay in a clean room in this hotel. I moved to 4 different rooms trying to find one that was actually cleaned after the previous guests! I am not a picky person. I don't really care if the aesthetics are new or not, I just care about cleanliness. I couldn't even keep from dreaming of the disgusting things I saw at this hotel! Feces behind bathroom door in room # 1, makeup and crumbs in bed in room # 2, dried blood on mattresses coverlet in room # 3, and wrinkly, smelly, greasy head, pillows in room # 4. Not cool!!! They say they have refunded my money but it hasn't appeared on my card yet!
Friendly, Affordable & Clean
We stay here every year and the rooms are always clean and the staff friendly. We had a little mishap this visit, the housekeeping staff was so very helpful and we much appreciated it :)
Great place, and clean!
Overall the hotel meet our expectations for the price... the price is very reasonable, the room was clean, the bed was super comfortable and relatively quiet even though we were placed by a stairway.
Gang member
There was a gang member (one pant leg rolled up) on Facebook for 4 hours on the lobby computer. If he was working on a resume, I wouldn't have a problem. Also, I tried to rent a cot for our room.... the clerk didn't know how much it would cost, then said $50. I asked if she meant $15, then she said she wasn't sure. Pool was out of order for weeks before we got there and we weren't notified or given a discount.
Broke Down Pool
The Pool has been not in service for quite some time and that was never mentioned when we booked the rooms. We came to Meadow Lake for a Hockey tournament and had no where to entertain all the family's. Not a great hotel to bring a big group of family's.
not bad
Not bad, but I wish there was more variety for the continental breakfast than just bagels and cereals!!
No pool for a hockey tournament 👎🏼
The pool wasn't working while we were there and they would not give us a discount. Also wouldn't let us use the breakfast room for hospitality room for parents.
NO POOL ACCESS
We attended the super 8 for a hockey tournament with a bunch of children around the age of 8. We booked due to it having a pool however when we got there the pool was closed. I feel that a courtesy call to inform us of this would have been beneficial so that we could choose whether or not we still wanted to stay. We also tried to check in early and we were denied as the clerk stuck to the 3:00 check in. Was somewhat frustrating as we were in between games and had no where else to go but back to the rink.
Meadow Lake Super 8 Work Accommodations
Great place to stay for work - easy access to some of the first floor hotels from the outside and great internet. No elevator though but good to keep up the old heartrate by hauling everything up a floor.
Nice place to stay
The staff was friendly, and the entrance was very clean. Coffee and cool water are always available. The room was clean and comfortable. Love the restaurant which is attached to the hotel.
Where I always stay in Meadow Lake
This is the best hotel in Meadow Lake. The prices are reasonable, the staff is very friendly. Rooms have all the amenities (fridge, microwave, keurig, ironing board, hair dryer) and the rooms are very clean. Also Garfunkel's Grill is a good place to eat and it's connected to the hotel.
Simple clean stay
It's clean and simple. Breaky is cereal, fruit, toast and muffins. With juice and coffee of course. Well worth the price. We splurged and had the jacuzzi room with barely fits two people but was fun! Easy walk to super store and restaurants.
Adequate motel stay
The hotel is easy accessable on Highway 4. The rooms are clean and in good conditions, beds are comfortable. Continental breakfast has some decent choises. Front desk staff is not so polite, but overall is a very good hotel for travellers in this area.
Noisy, Doesn't match the photos
Looking at the photos posted by management it's hard to believe I was in the same hotel. The photos make the rooms look much more spacious and bright than they really are. I think I may have been in the handicapped room because the bathroom was weirdly large, however I didn't receive any kind of discount for staying in this room. The walls are so thin, I heard every word of my neighbours' conversation and every time a door opened it sounded like someone was coming into my room, which freaked me right out. The breakfast supplies were not refilled frequently enough; I didn't get any juice and there was no fruit left by 7:30. Check-in took forever. The restaurant next door sucks, there's a cute cafe / coffee shop downtown (Eatery on Main) that is much better. As a brand I don't normally mind Super 8, but this is one of the worst hotels I've stayed in based on value for the money. If this is the # 1 hotel in Meadow Lake, I'd hate to see what the other ones look like!
Rude staff who didn't try to resolve a problem of their making
The staff were unhelpful and told us that their boss was nasty and rude, so it was a match made in heaven for them. We had booked a specific room, and discovered we were not given the right room at all. The staff had no interest in helping and I felt intimidated by the attitude. We will never stay there again.
Great experience
Check in with Michael was quick and he was very friendly and professional. Room looked exactly like pictures online, clean, spacious, with 2 queen beds. Had an excellent sleep: comfortable mattress and pillows, quiet, AC set just right so not too hot / cold. Standard continental breakfast, eating area clean (Michael came to check food supply and wash down tables from previous guests just as we were getting our breakfast). Housekeeping staff were friendly in the hallway, always said hi and gave a smile. Overall lovely experience!
Brutal... Just Brutal
After booking online with my credit card, under the impression that the room had been secured and paid for, I worked and drove all day to show up in the evening to be told that they gave my room away to accommodate a group. I was told rather nonchalantly that they didn't charge my card, and therefore it was not paid for and secured. The entire town was booked full, so I had to drive half an hour back in the direction that I came from to find a place to sleep. No compensation, no remorse, nothing. These guys do not deserve your business. Nor can you expect to have a place to stay when you arrive.
Weekend Trip to Meadow Lake
Our hotel stay here was fantastic. From check-in to the breakfast to check-out, the staff was friendly and professional. The hotel was clean and well kept. We were in town for a soccer tournament and enjoyed the stay very much.
" Super Stay at Super 8 "
Stayed here one night while on a trip through Meadow Lake. Room was very clean, beds were comfortable. The main floor has both outside and inside access which is very nice. Staff were great, very professional and assisted whenever we had any questions. They have a small swimming pool which is nice if that's your thing. This comes with a very modest continental breakfast. There isn't much of a selection but at the end of the day it could be nothing. There is a decent restaurant attached which is nice as you don't have to leave this place to eat unless you really want to. It's all you really need at a reasonable price.
Average only
Easy check-in at hotel! The room seemed updated but not the bathroom. Used towel was still behind door in bathroom although the rest was clean. Pool area was closed so didn't get to use it. Rest of hotel seemed clean throughout.
Thin walls and terrible restraurant food
Stayed 2 nights. First night I ordered food in the lounge. The Veal cutlet was dripping in grease as if the feed frier oil was to cold. After sending it back I ordered a clubhouse sandwich which I thought was a safe bet. Unfortunately the it was petrified. Party next door, paper thin walls kept me up until I called twice and complained. Next night the food was even worse. They should fire the cooks. Bathroom condiments were not replenished.
Nice and quite, clean and overall very comfortable
Our stay was very nice, the hotel was nice and quiet and the room was clean the breakfast was nice. Would definitely stay there again.
Amazing Service Excellent Room
Trevor was wonderful and very accommodating to us and our new borns. The room was very clean, the internet was good. The beds were very comfortable. The room we stayed in had 2 Queen beds, yet it had plenty of room for our portable crib for our two boys. The fridge was a surprisingly large for a hotel bar fridge, and nicely hidden to not distract the decor. I recommend this hotel for any family.
EXCELLENT KING SIZE ROOM AT GREAT PRICE
We had a king size room that was so clean, bed was more comfortable than expected in a hotel and coffee station was fully stocked with supplies needed. Wifi works excellent in the rooms. Michael is the best host and will look after any of your questions and concerns and make sure that your stay is a great one. For a hardy breakfast, go next door to Garfunkel's Grill... huge portions and very tasty!
Summer Trip
Great time! We had a comfortable stay and the service was excellent. The restaurant meal was great and the pool was very nice. We would easily stay at the Super 8 in Meadow Lake again! Thank you for a relaxing stay!
Family trip to celebrate my Grandma's 95th Birthday!
We were treated royally when I requested a room on the ground level because my daughter is disabled and uses a wheelchair for her mobility it was granted immediately! When we needed anything for example extra towels and face cloths they were brought to our room promptly. We really enjoyed our stay for two nights in Meadow Lake, SK.
You want to stay at Woodland Inn across the street, not here!
Thought I'd book this Super 8, since it has a pool. As soon as I entered the front doors, I realized it was a poor choice. If the price was better, I might be willing to ignore the fact that this place is ugly, cheap looking, and poorly managed. Stucco walls everywhere you look. I made the mistake of hanging in for a second night. Wish I'd made the switch to Woodland Inn; on TripAdvisor, you'll see my 2006 review. Super 8 Meadow Lake, the good - clean, spacious room - in room fridge, large desk, black out drapes (although no sheers) - continental breakfast 7 days a week begins at 6:30 - interior corridor The bad - cheap prints on the walls, cheap furniture including the 2 storage bins - there's several electrical plugs in the room, but not where you need them e. g. an outlet by the desk for a laptop! - bathroom door doesn't open fully because of improper placement of curved shower rod - since parking lot is part of plaza next door, the parking lot lights were off when closed - apparently, the newspapers that are on the front desk counter - but hard to get to - are free - two floors, no elevator. My 2nd floor hallway smelled of smoke both nights - cheap lidless ice bucket with no plastic bag for a liner - the desk chair is too low for the desk, even after raising the chair to it's max - wireless internet speed sometimes slow - no in-room book to explain the hotel services and community - no onsite fitness; I took advantage of their free pass to the Dynamic gym in town. It's hardly impressive. Old equipment. One shower. No lockers. - the bar / restaurant attached has video lottery terminals. I didn't even want to venture in. The ugly - the reception staff: weak. They leave a cordless phone base at the counter that you are expected to press the Locator button to summon them. It was common to see them on the only love seat in front of the TV. Looked like a boyfriend was there the one time - pool has a closed water slide - and a threatening note about trying to use the slide - the breakfast room is gross. one small TV in the corner. cereal is in individual size boxes, bread and muffins are in covered plastic bins. Muffins are greasy. There's faded prints on ugly white walls. I will definitely not return.
Clean Hotel
Stayed here twice within a month, quiet clean hotel. Rooms are small but comfortable. Staff were helpful and polite. I asked for an extended checkout, granted no problem.
Meadow Lake Super 8
You can hear everything outside the door of your room where the vehicles are parked. The internet is so slow it was almost not worth using.
Best in Meadow Lake
I have stayed at the Super 8 on many many many business trips to Meadow Lake. I have always been satisfied with this hotel. The staff are always helpful and courteous and will go out of their way to make sure your needs are met. The rooms are modem, clean, include a mini fridge and microwave. The hotel also has a pool, water slide, and hot tub. Attached is Garfunkle's restaurant and lounge which is always good. The hotel includes free continental breakfast with your stay. Overall, this hotel is probably the best choice in Meadow Lake.
The service is always good and helpful. I like staying on.
The service is always good and helpful. I like staying on the ground floor and I'm always lucky to get ground floor.
Work related stays!
I've had the pleasure of staying here on numerous occasions related to work and have found the environment to be very welcoming, clean. The complimentary breakfast is more than adequate and nutritional. You'll be pleased with your stay!
Weekend in Meadow
Room clean. Smelly though. No elevator. So request ground floor if you have lots of luggage. One of the cleanest hotels I have been in awhile.

Your best choice in Meadow Lake
This is your very best choice for hotels in Meadow Lake. The Super 8 was recommended to me by locals and my stay was quite pleasant. The staff is very friendly (thanks Michael and Nathan!). The hotel is located in a good spot off the highway and close to restaurants and right in the same parking lot as Extra foods and a bargain store. Conveniently the hotel rooms have a small fridge and microwave so shopping for some food worked out well. The room's decor is your standard brown bland colours but on the whole Super 8's are not known for high end decor. The room was very quiet (I stayed on the upper level by choice) and all guests were very respectful. DIdn't get a chance to check out the pool but the area looks nice and clean. The room itself was very clean, the bed and pillows super comfortable. I especially appreciate the Keurig coffee maker in the room, so much better than those small hotel coffee drip types. Facing the back of the hotel looks out at the big foot ball field attached to the school as is most certainly a quieter option than facing front. The internet worked well for the most part albeit slow at times. The breakfast included won't be the highlight of your stay unless you like lots of breads, sugary cereals, muffins. There is a bowl of fruit which goes quickly. The coffee is hot and good, and if the dining area is closed there is always coffee in the lobby 24 / 7. It would have been nice to have decaf included in the breakfast along with some low-fat yogurt and those great little pre cooked hard boiled eggs. I bought some at the Extra foods and kept them in the fridge. If I have to choose one thing which was a bit off was my second morning. I had been out from about 8:30am and came back briefly at 11:30. The rooms on either side of me and across the hall were being done. I figured mine was next so I went out for an hour and half. When I returned the rooms I saw were still being done and mine hadn't been touched. But then it was almost 1:30 and I wanted to use my room for business. The cleaning staff gave me a clean set of towels and I handed them my garbage for an empty bag. I didn't get the bed changed at all because I didn't want to wait any longer to access my room by that point. So in all fairness, that was my choice. But I thought it strange that my room was being left out. When I asked, the cleaning staff looked at her sheet and said " that room just checked in ". I let her know I already been there a day and half. But all in all, I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. The staff will go out of their way to be of help.
Nice rooms
Rooms sheets pillows towels were good. Kurig coffee maker is nice. Service fine. Only problem was poor Internet.
Between Games
Stayed with others on sports trip. Friendly staff. Hotel accommodated our group with the breakfast room for a small gathering that night to sit around and eat. Pool is quite small but still better than nothing. Hotel and rooms were clean and quite.
Ripped Off
We recently went to stay at the super 8 and one thing I didn't appreciate is getting ripped off. I was specifically and seriously told that I would be accommodated to keep my room and not check out till 5pm because we went for a hockey tournament. Once we went back to ask at 3 if we still had the room till 5pm because the shift changed they told us check out time is at 11 am and no one notified us to keep the room till 5pm and charged us an extra 80.00. Sucks these staff don't communicate with each other or this is their way of getting money from you. Hope they registered the 80.00 and didn't pocket it. So if you stay at Super 8 and they tell you they are willing to keep your room, do not trust them not unless they have it in writing and signed. The room itself was splendid but will NEVER stay with them again.
One Night Stay at Super 8 Medow Lake
Horrible. One bed was so worn out that one could feel the springs when you lay down. There were cobwebs on the ceiling. Toilet bowl looked dirty. Breakfast was another experience - bread was stale. No variety. As rates are above $100 at least provide decent breakfast like waffles etc.
Well rested stay
The bed and pillows were very comfortable, we had a very restful sleep. Amenities were good with Keurig coffee, fridge and wifi.
Good experience
Good clean hotel. Beds are very comfortable. They picked up the cost of our bus driver, which was an exceptional perk for our hockey teams.
Where is it
Only complaint is that after i called the 1800 number, i had to look up the address of the hotel because the person i booked the room with did not know where the hotel was. Room was clean, staff was nice. Although by myself, booking agency said only room available was one with 2 queens, i found out there were singles available. May want to verify room upon arrival.
False Advertising
Our family purposely selected your hotel because of the pool and water slide. There are other cheaper hotels down the street with a larger pool, but we selected Super 8 with the knowledge of the awesomeness of your water slides. The front desk clerk stated the water slide was not open because there " were not enough guests to justify hiring a lifeguard and if they did the lifeguard would just be sitting around doing nothing. " First of all, that is what lifeguards do, they sit and wait for an emergency. Second, I have a background in law and you do not require a lifeguard because you have a sign posted by the pool that clearly states the rules and regulations and that a lifeguard is not provided. The pool room had a hand made sign that said the water slide was nonfunctional, meaning out of order. I suspect your Meadow Lake Super 8 is too cheap to run their water slide, which is fine. The issue that I have is that I specifically asked if there was a water slide and was told yes during my reservations. If I had known there was no water slide I would have stayed cheaper at the Travel Lodge down the road. They have a much larger pool. I have stayed at Super 8's across Canada, very disappointed in this one.
Fishing trip
One night stay with 5 other friends on a fishing trip. Booked 3 double rooms. Everything was as expected. Rooms are very good. Service helpful. Only complaint is the limited breakfast. Restaurant is attached as has everything. Opens at 9 and were gone by 8.
Very Clean and Quiet
Our room was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Enjoyed the hot tub and pool. The continental breakfast exceeded my expectations as well. All in all a good stay!
great staff
this hotel Is located in a great place an the staff were awesome. the room clean and nice. normal tv and bedding. one thing thou. I all ways call to book my room via phone. It took 25 minutes to book this room.. the woman on the phone. kept putting me on hold. that's the second time out of the last 3 bookings I have made. one more time I will switch hotel brands. this has nothing to do with the hotel staff but the booking on the phone.
Good place to stay
Spent one night at this hotel on a business trip. It was as one would expect of a Super 8 but I found that the bedding was nicely upgraded and the room was modernized. The typical continental breakfast that you get for free had a good selection of items. There is also a restaurant right next door for a warm breakfast (didn't go). While the hotel shares its parking lot with a strip mall and Extra Foods, right behind is a quiet residential area where one can go for a stroll. I would stay there again.
Very Impressed
First of all I want to start by saying I am very impressed with this hotel. For a small city like Meadow Lake you would not expect such a nice place to stay. I recently have stayed here for the first time since a few years back. When I arrived I was pleasantly surprised to see such great improvements from the renovations. The lobby is very attractive with new paint, new sofa & chairs, and a flat screen tv above the fireplace, also a coffee station in the lobby with 24 hour coffee service which I found to be quite convenient. The front desk clerk that checked me in was very friendly and polite. They got me checked in within a very timely manner. When I arrived in my room, I was extremely impressed with the renovations done to the rooms. Again new paint, carpets, bedding is not cheap it was very comfortable and clean with an abundance of pillows (which is rare sometimes in a hotel), Furniture in room is also new, dresser, desk, headboards, paintings, chairs all NEW. Also new flat screen tv in the room was very nice. It looks fantastic. On top of that I have no complaints about the room cleanliness it was very clean. Continental breakfast was great, Toast, bagels, cereal, oatmeal, fruit, muffins, coffee, tea, juice. I will definately be staying at this hotel again the next time I am in Meadow Lake, and reccomend anyone else do the same!
I will go back to this Super 8
The room was really clean and nicely furnished but had a funny smell which I did not notice after a few seconds of being in the room. Chemical smell, maybe the heating unit or cleaning fluids they use? Polite staff, no issues. Beds were good. The complimentary continental breakfast was barely adequate - I had toast, coffee, juice. It lacked nice pastries, had no waffle or pancake machine. I will go back, it was OK for an overnight business stay.
Quite excellent & exceptional
We checked in at the Meadow Lake Super 8 hotel at 10:30pm on Nov 7th, 2012. The check in clerk went above & beyond to make double sure all our needs were met. I have never been so impressed with hotel service. It actually brought a lump to my throat that a complete stranger would do all that this man did to accomadate complete strangers during their time of need. I would like to say thank you so much Sir for your companionate humanity. God bless you.. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning a stay in Meadow Lake.
Great place to stay
Only complaint was the pillows were not very comfortable I also did not like the requirement that this review had to be a minimum of 100 characters before it would be accepted
