About Fort Campbell Soldier For Life - Transition Assistance Program
Here at Fort Campbell we treat transition as a 3 step process. The first step is to attend a mandatory pre-separation briefing as well as the Transition Overview and MOS Crosswalk class, DOL Employment Workshop, VA Benefits Brief part 1 and 2, and Financial Planning. The second step is working one-on-one with your SFL-TAP counselor on the resume and your Individual Transition Plan in order to put your employment plan in to action! Finally, the third step is to take advantage of Enrichment Seminars, Employer Event Days, and Job fairs. SFL-TAP is more than pre-separation counseling. Through SFL-TAP you can schedule a Department of Labor workshop where you'll learn how to conduct a successful job search. You'll find our SFL-TAP Center is an excellent place to go for employment assistance and support for your job search. Our Center has a professional staff of counselors that provide job search seminars and offer counseling as well as online tools and resources. Even if you plan to work for yourself or your community or you plan to volunteer, our Center's counselors can provide resources, Internet access and useful links, interactive computer applications and feedback to help focus your efforts. SFL-TAP won't leave you once you've left the military. The same services and resources you have available to you before retirement will be there for you and your spouse for life. If you are ETSing or involuntarily separating you and your spouse are eligible for SFL-TAP Services 180 days after your separation. *SEE NOTES TAB AT TOP OF PAGE FOR OUR WEATHER POLICY!
